Accidental Hiatus...

Yo Ive been unwell these past... how many months? Allergies are the worst theyve ever been for me and right when I seem to get well, BAM! I get hit with another wave.

What sucks is because I wanted to share more aro terms but havent been well enough to do so. That and having to go into work sick makes it even harder to want to do the things I enjoy.

Anyways just wanted to give you guys at least an update. Ill try to go back to uploading stuff soon, I promise.

Aro Ring vs Pear° Ring

Ok so just a heads up to my fellow aros! There is this company called pear° trying to do this social expirement.. so what’s the issue? They are using these light greenish blue ring that can easily be mistaken for white if you are not paying attention, it goes on your middle finger. So I thought I’d spread the word to make sure we are paying attention and not mistaking someone who is single and ready to mingle for someone who is aromantic. (Personally wish they chose a different color or went with a bracelet instead)

If you’re aro-spec and do want to participate in their expirement, then that’s not big deal (and good for you). Just wanted to give a heads up to those who are not interested to look out for this lol

Happy Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week

As the week is ending and people stop being aware of us, I still wanted make a post about it.

Being aromantic is wild. There are so many different expirences for each of us and we are all so different.

My own aromantism doesn't line up with what people would assume an aromantic person would be like. I like romance and I want to do romantic activities sometimes, however, I dont feel romantic attraction. You might assume that Im cupioromantic but I actually am not. Im quaromantic and romance-favorable. Trying to to explain to people what quaromantic can tiring. I never seem to say it correctly. People just assume Im not actually aromantic or that the term is just stupid. This week opens up more people to asking questions. I wish I was able to answer.

You do not owe anyone an explaination for your aromantism. I dont, you dont, we dont. Even if it doesnt make sense, thats okay. Aromantism is a massive spectrum. I want you to remember that. Remember that you are valid and you are cared for.

Alright, I've seen some questions regarding heartless roam around (both on tumblr and discord) and thought I'd answer some! (disclaimer: I'm the coiner @aros-hoard is just a sideblog, I'm not just hijacking someone else's content <2)

To begin: what is heartless? Heartlessness is feeling separated from romance and any or all forms of love. Someone could feel separated for a variety of reasons, some of which include: feeling disconnected, feeling rejected, or feeling uncomfortable from these ideals. Some may also be heartless because they want to reclaim the narrative of aromantic people being heartless monsters. (Original coining found here)

What is the difference between being heartless and being loveless? There is quite a bit of overlap between heartlessness and lovelessness, though the main difference is heartlessness's specific focus on romance. (@mossy-aro also had an amazing explanation here)

Can I be [xyz] and be heartless? The answer is yes! You can have any feelings towards romance, you can be a romoaro or a lovequeer aro, you can be hyperromantic, you can be anywhere on the arospec, you can be aroace, aroallo or nonsam. You don't have to be loveless, voidpunk, amatopunk, or romance repulsed to be heartless There isn't any strict way to be heartless; being heartless comes down to feeling connected to the label in some way, shape, or form.

When it comes down to it, heartlessness is a radical way of viewing your aromanticism; rejecting norms and taking pride in that rejection. There is no one way to be heartless, just as there is no one way to be aromantic
