you can do this at various times throughout the day to keep the momentum going
you are training your brain to focus on the good and you are creating new neural pathways and just watch on the first day how different your day will turn out if you have been used to experiencing the opposite quite often..

Appreciation

Acceptance
I will choose the emotion according to what opportunities there are in my environment, to where I am inspired.
Why? Because it feels good. Because it feels right. Because life is full of opportunities in every moment that I don't want to miss anymore by feeling otherwise !!!

Making decisions..
When I'm trying to make a decision, I tend to get stuck in overthinking and then get confused.
I've found that when deciding whether to do something, if I think about doing it and pay attention to how my body responds, there's my answer.
If I feel a contraction in my body, any form of bad feeling, then I've found it's best not to go ahead with that thing.
If I feel an expansion in my body, any form of good feeling, then maybe that is the way forward.
It doesn't mean I will never say yes to something I am saying no to now; it just means I am not in alignment with that course of action right now. I believe my body's reaction is a result of all the thoughts tied up in that course of action and if they are negative, then that course of action right now is not going to be fruitful for me.
In fact, whenever I feel a bit off about doing something, it never turns out well. Instead when I feel enthusiastic about it, it's wonderful and synchronistic. Everything works out for me.

I have found there are times when mindfulness of your emotions is useful and liberating and there are times when healthy distraction is more useful. Discernment is key.
I highly recommend the book
'How to meditate' by Pema Chodron'
for guidance on making friends with your feelings and sitting with them instead of running from them.

I will not rush my growth.
I will not pressure myself to change or to heal.
Everything grows and heals in its own time.

We make the beliefs we hold about life and ourselves come true. Do you agree?
I believe (and often complain) that I can never get the house tidy with two young kids and yet I find myself rushing my kids onto the next thing when there is in fact a perfect window of time within which to tidy the bedroom. I would rather rush my child to get ready for bed when she was quite content doing what she was doing, avoiding the opportunity right in front of me.
Instead of surrendering to the flow of life which enables things to unfold perfectly to match all of our desires, we resist or force things, which end up matching our beliefs, even the negative ones that don't serve us.
This forcing and resisting the moment leads to anxiety, when letting go and surrendering to the flow leads to the opposite; peace.

Shifting gears from anxiety to love.
When I am feeling symptoms of anxiety, I have been trying different things to see what helps...
One thing that worked the other day was shifting my focus to 5 things I am grateful for or happy about.
This completely turned my train of thought down a different track and I was off, had a wonderful day after that quick shift.
I did this while getting on with some chores. I had previously been sat down trying to meditate and the anxious feeling just wasn't shifting.
Different strategies seem to work at different times and it's fun testing them out. I am always amazed at how quickly my state can change when I start focusing on things I love. This seems to work best when it's just a general feeling of anxiety.
