one of the most shameful things i've had to admit in therapy was how little curiosity i have left in me. "aren't you ever genuinely curious about new people?" not really. i ask a lot of questions bc i care about people's feelings, not out of curiosity. "what's something you would be curious about?" i don't know. not much. "why don't you really watch new shows and movies?" because i'd have to force curiosity. "why is learning so hard for you these days?" because I don't care to know new things.

i used to be a child who happily read five books a week. now, i have to force myself to watch a 3-minute video. i can’t even express how much disappointment in myself that brings.

i was supposed to be curious. what happened.
