I’ve been a Marauders fan for a while but never actually read atyd as I’ve seen really negative comments about the fic and how out of character they made the characters and how toxic Wolfstar is made in the story. Still, i’ve also seen positive reviews about the fiction but i don’t want to waste my time reading something longer that the actual books that is completely shite and loathsome.

Why do we have to feminize characters who aren’t canonically as feminine as you’re making them seem to make them gay?

Any of them would agree that it’s a very harmful stereotypical caricature. And I’m tired of holding my tongue about it since it’s so widespread. Like, most gay couples I know ARE NOT just twink femboy/big strong alpha male. It’s not the rule of fucking thumb but they treat it like it is.

En masse, this fandom always has to strip the character of their identities to make their queerness/gayness palatable, and fit them into these cookie cutter dynamics.

It’s almost always smart smarty/dumb dumb. Angry and abusive/just taking it. Openly a whore/DL whore.

If you have to strip your character of their entire identity to make something work, maybe you should reevaluate the thing you’re trying to do. And definitely don’t label it was ‘canon-compliant’ or some other bullshit, or say it’s ’the new canon’. It’s genuinely in fucking sane.

Genuine question for Tomarry shippers: Why do you ship them? I mean no hate or whatever, but isn’t it weird because their first ‘interaction’ is when Tom/Voldemort kills Lily and James then tries killing Harry AS A BABY. Like what? Then their second is in the chamber of secrets where Harry is 12 years old and Tom 16!! I had already talked about this with another Tomarry shipper in their post where they had explicitly drawn a picture of Harry, and they just said in their Au that Harry and Tom are both 17-18. Is it like that for all Tomarry shippers or sm? I’m genuinely curious because I’ve also seen edits of them, but they’re both shown to be the same age, whether they are 4-18+ years old.
