“Depression can take away your self confidence, but it doesn’t take away your kindness. Some of the greatest people I’ve ever met, struggle with depression; and every one of them would give you the shirt right off their back.”

Therapeutic Thursday
I have had a very triggering day today. When I, or anyone, is triggered and begin to remember or even flash back to past trauma, then the brain goes into fight or flight mode and the rational part of the brain shuts down. The best way to combat this is to ground yourself. This grounding activity helps a lot because it forces the rational part of the brain to reengage and the fight or flight to chill out a bit so that you can calm down and realize that the danger is not where you are, but is in the past.

Weekly Crystal Wednesday
❇Amazonite
👀Calming shades of blue-green
🔮I picked up my personal piece of Amazonite in New Orleans. What initially drew me to it was the name. I am a huge Wonder Woman fan, some may even say obsessed, and she is an Amazon warrior princess. I had to purchase this crystal for my personal collection once I found out it's properties. Powerful calming properties, calming and soothing effects during times of stress, and a powerful heart chakra stone to help release toxic emotions. Known as the "hope stone" amazonite also is an excellent manifestation tool, and is great when used during meditation to help bring your dreams to fruition.
Also an excellent throat chakra stone, giving you courage to move beyond the fear of the judgement of society and the ability to speak your truth. Balances your masculine and feminine energies (much like the warrior and princess that both exist in Wonder Woman and all Amazons 😊), and aids in thinking clearly, rather than over emotionally.
My trip to NOLA was a little over a month after my life changing trauma and amazonite assists in the healing and recovery from illness and trauma. This crystal called to me. It was destined to be mine.
