What’s your favorite part of depression? I’ll start

The forgetting. Nobody talks about how you start just…forgetting shit. And not even like I can’t remember a week ago I can take my meds and start combing my hair, when I’m done I can’t remember if I took my meds so then I spend the whole day worrying about forgetting my meds

So now I do things in a very specific order

So I’m a content creator for a small company. I run their social media and plan things out and help to develop our strategy.

I would not recommend it. It’s not glamorous. 90% of my day is working on spreadsheets and redoing content because the bosses don’t like small details. All for minimum wage.

Sometimes my AFAB friends ask the age-old question "Why does he think that I was flirting, I was just being nice?" As a cis guy who has had crushes on many friends, here's a guy secret... We are very emotionally starved.

This has roots in toxic masculinity, where a lot of guys are raised by the idea of taking jabs at each other and that complements, outside of physical achievements, are seen as "gay"...maybe that's why I like guys... But I remember my freshman year of college I got complemented on my shirt, unprompted, around five times, and I don't think I've ever been happier. Since, I've found a great community who loves me and showers me in complements...and I got a crush on a couple of them... This is because they showed me what turned out to be basic kindness. To me, what I should expect was foreign and special. This doesn't excuse people from being creepy or assault or anything though.

So if you ever believe college is out of reach or “greater than”. Please understand that I sat next to a guy while eating breakfast and he was writing an essay called “Why I’m a Party Pooper”. Nobody here knows what the hell we’re doing.

Ace Positivity for the Day

You may think that nobody understands what you’re going through, and to a degree that’s right. Nobody’s experience is identical to another person’s. But you’re not alone in your pain. Countless of people have gone through it too. It’s hard, and you’re very brave for toughing through it. I’m so, so proud of you. <3

Find your community when you are ready. It’s okay to not be ready now, take your time and don’t force yourself. But when you are, find your community. There are more people like you than you can imagine, and when you find them, I hope that you’re mood will become much, much better.

Okay, so I'm sick and tired of people pitying me because I started college in the pandemic. Every single time it's "It must be so hard" and "I'm so sorry that you aren't getting the 'college experience'" like, what? Okay, so I have to wear a mask while inside, what about it? I'm making friends, learning shit, This is my college experience!!!

Just because it isn't exactly like yours doesn't mean that I'm not having fun. I don't know any different, and it's not a bad thing.

So at work today I had two dogs in camp, a German Shepard (Ella) and a black lab mix (Charlotte). And these two were GAY🏳️‍🌈!!! Charlotte was shy and tried to give Ella kisses and when Charlotte got scared by the male dogs, Ella would run over and protect her!!!

things i love about boys (mannerism edition)

you guys loved the last one so much - i'm going to make this a series!

laughter. listen, i'm a simple lad. i hear a boy laugh, and i suddenly forget how to act like a person. something made him so happy, or he found a half-baked meme on iFunny that made him do the half-smile-blowing-air-out-your-nose thing. one of the best sounds, A+.

hugs. boy's hugs. hugs from boys. they're always so warm and soft... and you can just feel his outer shell melt away. sometimes, he'll stroke your hair and whisper things in your ear as he hugs you. they range from a soft, "i love you" or a silly inside joke that cracks you up.

jumps. they are very hoppy ones, why is this? when he sees a door frame, it is inevitably smacked. when he sees another boy, and they get excited, they hop? it is very adorable and confusing, 10/10.

singing. the number one way to make me melt into a very gay puddle on the floor. they hum under their breath when doing homework or doing chores - and half the time, they won't even know what song it is. they enjoy singing in the shower as loud and obnoxiously as possible - but only when you're around to hear him. too adorable.

sleeping. how are boys so adorable when they're literally doing nothing? picture your boyfriend/crush sleeping next to you. he makes little sounds. he roll. he flip over. sometimes, he'll steal your blanket. and sometimes he'll GIVE YOU HUGS IN HIS SLEEP. HELP.

reading. nothing is softer than a boy with a book in front of his face. pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose when they slide down. turning pages quickly, and literally tapping his foot when it gets suspenseful. throwing the book across the room when the dog dies-

passions. i will cry. he waves his hands around excitedly over the nerdiest things. when you start talking about one of his special interests, he lights up like a christmas tree, and starts talking at 2x speed. he is so excited to show you the things that he loves. let him.

soft interactions. boys playing fetch with a puppy, but he ends up doing all the fetching. boys falling asleep with a kitten curled up on their chests. boys running around with little kids, and having the most adorable and nonsensical conversations. boys... marry me.

clumsiness. the cute dumbass trope in general. when they try to high-five a buddy and totally miss. when they try to impress someone and end up tripping over a potted plant. accidentally ignoring wet floor signs and literally falling down a flight of stairs-

comfort. boys wearing the biggest, fluffiest hoodies. whining when you get out the bed to make breakfast because bABE YOU'RE LEAVING THE COMFYNESS?? their annoyed tired groans when they eventually have to wake up and join the world.

things i love about boys - (physical attribute edition)

- hair. all types of hair are so beautiful to me. i love thick, poofy hair. it can amuse me for hours and i adore playing with it and making little space buns. i love thin, straight hair. i can tuck it behind his ear right before i kiss him good morning. i love all colors, lengths, everything. they play with it? always? absolutely adorable, i need a moment.

- skin. there is something so raw and human about our skin. and the blemishes, scars, colors, tattoos, freckles, stretch marks, and patches are all lovely, because they're a part of you. skin can receive tender touch, the sharp sting of art, and all of life's best sensations.

- brows. it is said that the human face holds the capacity to produce 10,000 facial expressions. but, i swear, every guy has his own unique one. they fly upward when he's surprised, and crinkle together when he's concentrating. always slightly disheveled as he rolls out of bed.

- eyes. good god, i have to stop myself from writing a paragraph about irises alone. eyes hold so much emotion. the way they get wide when he gets excited about something. the way the upper lids droop slightly when he gets sleepy - yet, he'll protest; "sleep is for da weak!"

- noses. are so cute? the way they scrunch together and wiggle? the most boopable feature of the human body. additionally, when a snowflake lands on his nose and he tries to lick it off. eskimo kisses with mugs of steaming hot cocoa. even the occasional sniffles. agh.

- lips. many uses. kisses, of course, are among my favorites. although, i can't help but crack up at his lemon face. the duck lips when posing for an impromptu selfie. those adorably awkward thin-lipped smiles he gives to strangers on the street. what is he doing..?

- shoulders. fantastic?? perfect headrests for sleepy afternoons. essential safety feature during piggyback rides. when he gets stressed, you can massage them; he'll let out the biggest, most satisfied sigh. small shrugs. huge, animated, cartoon shrugs. AGH.

- hands. immaculate. small hands to kiss and hold. big hands to envelop your own. the Intimidating Knuckle Pop used to scare off pesky siblings in the background of phone calls. chilly hands that you can warm up. interlacing fingers?? wrapping around my neck and ch-

- tummies. VERY GOOD QUALITY. small tummies? pudgy tummies? tummies with stretch marks? all beautiful and good. when you use them as a pillow, and he softly goes 'oof'? when you cook a meal together, and they get excited because this is going to be so good.

- legs. despite their ability to steal every goddamn blanket off the bed and couch, they are also very good while snuggling. especially when they wrap around your waist like a baby koala?? i don't know what you're doing, sir, but it is adorable. do it again. wholesome stuff.
