I'm done. I feel embarrassed that I'm a part of the human race.

Wanna know why?

Because everytime I step out of the house, my first thought is that I hope I don't fucking get raped. I'm just so mad at everything right now.

I live in India, a beautiful fucking country with loads of tradition and culture and all that bullshit. Also a country where being eye-raped is normal. Where I'm told how to dress (I'm a girl with strict parents), while my guy friends aren't told that cat-calling and starting at a girl's boobs is rude. Seriously. I had to tell one of them to stop staring at my boobs because it's rude, and he said it's fun to stare. I had to drill a lot of sense into him.

I was almost molested by my grandfather's brother and I had to tell him to stop touching me. Then I was called rude and stuck-up and that he's an old man and I should respect him (which is why I stopped attending family gatherings).

Ah! The country where aunties gossip shit and tell me not to drink too much milk (because it'll stimulate growth, I kid you the fuck not) or dream too much or have independent thoughts because then I'll not find a husband. PS., I was 7 years old at that time.

My brother was crying because he got bad grades and he got slapped by my aunt, because men don't cry. My friend who used to do Bharatnatyam suddenly stopped attending classes. When I ran into him the other day, I asked why he discontinued and he said that men don't dance, so he had to leave.

I'm embarrassed and I don't want to share Oxygen with such awful people anymore.

I'm not allowed to cut my hair short because I won't look feminine. Even when I was doing taekwondo, my parents wouldn't allow me to cut it off. You know why? Because that means I'm disrespecting my culture.

If my culture dictates that my marriage comes first in my life, before my health, before my dreams and before my well being, then I don't want this culture. I don't want this bullshit that some people thrust down my throat in the name of "Sanskar".

Please for the love of Gods, teach your sons not to rape, don't reach random women how to dress.

Justice

I recently started watching Death Note and it brings me to a point where I question a lot of the things that i have believed in. These things are contradictory. Although one cannot say that both are correct or both are wrong, we can’t even say that one of them is correct and the other wrong. It makes me wonder, how much do we really know about what is right and what is wrong?

What we perceive as justice and law, is it truly natural and correct? Does anyone have the right to issue a death penalty? Does anyone get to decide whether or not an abortion is correct?

For instance, if a person is charged with murder, is it right to kill them then and there, or is it right to give the person a trial? If you think that it is right to kill that person there itself, it will raise questions, such as whether or not one person has the right to take away another person’s life (aka tit for tat). However, if you agree with the latter and say that one must be given a trial after murder, it raises other questions; how can someone with no knowledge about the accused decide his fate? Does a certificate you hold give you the right to control one’s life?

In the end, it all comes down to one thing; do humans have the right to decide another human’s fate?

We may be an advanced race, but these huge things stand in the room like an elephant, waiting to be dealt with.

Update 1

So I haven’t had more than 3 hours of sleep per day this entire week. I have a debate this Saturday. I have a singing competition on Friday. First term tests are starting next month and I don’t know shit. I’m supposed to be sending notes to my classmates but honestly I haven’t done anything myself.

I have Law classes every weekend and my stream is commerce.

College is killing me and this is my first year. Even the first term test is not over.

I’m planning to restart Taekwondo classes because SOME FUCKING ASSHOLE TOLD EVERYONE THAT I USED TO DO IT AND NOW THE TEACHERS WANT ME TO CONTINUE AND BRING LAURELS TO THEIR COLLEGE.

My eyes feel droopy af during business and don’t even get me started on how utterly bullshitty I feel like during economics. 

My arms hurt because our volleyball coach is a jerk and won’t let us HAVE A FUCKING BREAK!!!
