I don’t think we talk about dad!bucky enough on this blog. Like how’d he feeling when you tell him you’re pregnant? How was he during your birth? After? After after?
oooohhhhh we've got a lot to talk about, like too much. so much to talk about, it could be a series. let's start from the beginning though, shall we?
warnings: fluff, mentions of pregnancy, implications of sex, slight mentions of ptsd, written quickly
could be read with Day One & Day Thirteen
let's be honest, he is ecstatic to be a dad, a father, a parent when you're by his side he feels like he can be a good role model
like yeah he's been through a lot and sometimes he has nightmares and scares some people who think he's a manic or monster or whatever, but you've made him feel like he's better
like he can be a better man, even with his past haunting his dreams
so when he brings up the topic of being a father, it's a bit timid, subtle hints before the real conversation
his hints are not as subtle as he thinks though cause you pick up on the sensitive topic the third time he drops a hint
the first hint was him off-handedly complimenting a baby on your walk
"she's adorable, isn't she?" and you agreed when you looked at the baby and saw her chubby cheeks and toothless grin aimed at you with her little hands making grabby hands at the ice cream you were holding
the second hint was when he offered to babysit the kid in the house across the street
"well, we both know henry and fiona could use the break" was all he had to say when you asked about why there were three kids sitting in the living with crayons and paper littered around them
the third hint was when he held up a baby bodysuit with the words i have the best mommy written in red on white
"this is cute, isn't it?" he had asked standing in the baby aisle he had practically dragged you into. you crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow and said "we need to talk when we get home"
he couldn't focus the rest of the shopping trip
he was nervous to say the least
his hands shook basically the whole time while you guys finished shopping and he even let you drive the truck cause the poor guy felt like the world was spinning underneath him
once you got home, he was a mess, but he helped carry all the bags in and then started cleaning the kitchen while you rummaged through the bags once again to check for any rips or stains you might have missed the first time
"bucky?"
he walked into the living room where you sat with a soft and gentle smile on your face
he ran back into the kitchen when you giggled at the bright pink latex gloves he had forgotten to take off
"yes, sweets?" he swallowed thickly when you beckoned him over and patted the spot next to you and turned so that you could face him
even with the smile he loved on your lips, he still couldn't meet your eyes
"look at me, buck"
that gentle tone makes his heart clench when he meets your gaze
your gentle and soft and kind and loving gaze
"do you want a baby?" your voice is so alluring
"...yeah" / "good, cause i want one too"
bucky is pulling you onto his lap so fast and wrapping his arms around you tightly and kissing your cheeks, neck, and lips
when he pulls away, he looks at you like you hung the stars
"really, sweets?" / "really, bucky" / "i love you" / "i love you more" / "there's no fucking way, can't beat me in that race, sweets"
he starts kissing you again, but you pull away too quick for his liking and he frowns
you pull out the baby bodysuit he was holding at the shop and grin
"it is very cute"

ROWLAND S. HOWARD, Toronto, April Fool's Day, 1988.
Rowland S. Howard was one of a handful of my guitar heroes (a list that includes Andy Gill, Ricky Wilson, Keith Levene and Robert Quine.) This is probably why I made the effort to photograph Howard and his band when they came through town, despite not having an assignment or a venue where the photos would be published. I brought along my studio in a bag and found the same helpfully empty space behind the bar at the Silver Dollar Room, the same place where I'd photographed Lydia Lunch two months earlier. These three shoots I did early in 1988 were crucial and coincidentally connected as Howard worked with Lunch throughout his life (their collaborative "concept album" Honeymoon in Red had been released the year previous), as had Henry Rollins, the next subject in my ad hoc studio at the Silver Dollar, who would also work with Howard.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I found Rowland S. Howard to be polite and friendly, with impeccable manners - very different from the haunted-looking man who would stalk the stage chain-smoking in concert videos I'd seen of The Birthday Party of Crime & the City Solution. He was in town with These Immortal Souls, the band he'd formed with his brother Harry Howard, his girlfiend Genevieve McGuckin and drummer Epic Soundtracks (born Kevin Godfrey), but for some reason McGuckin didn't make the Toronto show, part of a tour supporting their first record, Get Lost (Don't Lie). I spent most of the three rolls of film I ran through my Mamiya C330 trying to get a decent portrait of Howard, but shot the band together on the last half of the third roll, where Epic is wearing a Black Flag t-shirt; These Immortal Souls were the first non-American band on the Flag's label, SST.
Tumblr media
Rowland S. Howard smoked all through my shoot with him, which I spent trying to get something that captured his somewhat wasted elegance. My white backdrop, a painter's tarp, had taken on some impressive wrinkles while stuffed in the gym bag it lived in between shoots, and it's taken considerable skill and digital magic to get these shots to look as slick as I had imagined them while doing this shoot nearly forty years ago. In the end I think they capture a few different facets of Howard, who would be in poor health for many years after I met him, afflicted from Hepatitis C that would lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer and ultimately kill him in 2009, at just fifty. Epic Soundtracks would die suddenly in his London home in 1997, after recording several acclaimed solo albums. Autoluminescent, a documentary about Howard, would come out in 2011.

The Apartment
Tumblr media
The next day, Harry, Ron, and Hermione set off to leave the Weasley home, and apparate to 12 Grimmauld Place to stay for the night, as they mentally prepare themselves for what’s to come. For most of the day, they clean up the area that Sirius had left Harry, and both Ron and Hermione take the time to help Harry with the process of coming back to his godfather’s place. The wounds were still fresh from his passing.
By the end of the night, they prepare themselves to get ready for bed when Harry says his thoughts, “I can't shake off the feeling that there's something significant waiting for us at Genevieve's apartment.”
“Yeah, like what? Another memory or some hidden clue?” Ron asks.
“Maybe. But I can't shake off this sense of dread. What if we uncover something we weren't prepared for?” Harry proclaims.
“We'll handle it, Harry. Together. We always do.” Hermione reassures him.
Ron agrees, “Exactly. We've faced worse than this, haven't we?”
Harry nods, “Yeah, I suppose you're right.” They finish getting ready and settle into their respective beds. Later that night, Harry tosses and turns restlessly, haunted by memories of Sirius's death.
Harry gets up and whispers to himself,” I should've been faster. I should've saved him.” He sits up abruptly, breathing heavily, and wipes away tears. He decides to get up and walk around the house, not being able to go back to sleep.
Ron wakes up and notices that Harry is gone. Worried about him, he decides to search for him when he sees him standing in front of the Black family tree. “Harry, mate? What's wrong?”
Harry shakes his head, “Nothing, Ron. Just a nightmare.”
Ron moves closer to Harry, “You miss him, don't you? Sirius.”
Harry nods, “Every day. I keep thinking there was something more I could've done.”
Ron places a comforting hand on Harry's shoulder, “You did everything you could, Harry. Sirius knew that. And he'd be proud of you for carrying on, for fighting this war.”
Harry sniffles quietly, “Thanks, Ron. I appreciate it.”
Ron smiles back at him, “Anytime, mate. Now get some rest. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow.”
“Yeah, you're right. Goodnight, Ron.” Harry moves to get back to sleep with Ron.
“Goodnight, Harry. Sleep well.” With that, they both drift off to sleep.
Tumblr media
The next day, Harry, Hermione, and Ron decide to eat some breakfast before venturing into Genevieve's apartment, they all were nervous and uncertain what would lie ahead, but nonetheless, they couldn’t wait any longer. After they were done and were ready to go, they all collectively moved to cautiously enter the abandoned apartment. They held their wands at the ready, scanning the dimly lit room for any signs of danger.
Harry whispered, “Looks like no one's been here for a while.
Hermione agreed, “It's eerily quiet. Best keep our eyes peeled for anything suspicious.
Ron grimaced,  "I really hope there’s no spiders around here.” They carefully make their way through the apartment, checking each room for clues. Suddenly, Hermione notices something peculiar in the corner of the master bedroom.
Hermione gasps loudly, “Guys, come take a look over here!” They rush to the corner and find a large, ornate box covered in dust. Harry cautiously opens it, revealing Genevieve's body inside, perfectly preserved like a statue.
Ron, absolutely shocked, mouth wide open, “Merlin's beard. It's like she's sleeping.”
Harry, wide-eyed, says, “She looks just like Snow White.”
Hermione says with a trembling voice, “This is...this is beyond anything I could have imagined.” As they stand there in disbelief, Hermione notices a piece of parchment tucked beneath the box. She carefully unfolds it and reads the inscription.
Hermione, with a puzzled expression, tells Ron and Harry, “It’s from Dumbledore…It’s an incantation to revive her.”

Propaganda under the cut
Preminger
Preminger's entire relationship with Queen Genevieve is built off of Gaslighting, Gatekeeping and Girlbossing her. He is stated to be the son of a peasant and rose to become the Queen Genevieve's main advisor. He then steals all the gold in the Kingdom making it go bankrupt and he never tells anyone apart from his minions about this. He kidnaps Princess Annaliese and writes a note, that makes it seem to Queen Genevieve that she's run away instead of being kidnapped. Then he tries to kill Princess Annaliese and tells her mother Queen Genevieve that she died in a mine accident caused by Julian the Princesses tutor. Then on the same day as he told her, that her daughter was dead he proposes to Queen Genevieve by figuratively backing her into a corner and giving no option to say no. Truly a master of Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss.
William Afton
Killing kids and gaslighting since 1987 to gain power <33
William managed to talk his way out of being arrested by the local police purely using the power of being charming, he started and then haunted a massive franchise that in-universe has like three dozen different branches, the only gates he’s keeping are the pearly ones, but he trapped his undead children on earth for decades so he did pretty good at that imo

My year in books!
(not the exact reading order)
The Wall - Marlen Haushofer Loved this book, it's really powerful. But it deals with difficult themes and if you are very sensitive about animals, maybe steer clear. Although it's very important to the story and it would be a shame if that would deter you from this wonderful book. Wat stilte wil - Arthur Japin Read this for my book club - there is only a Dutch version as far as I know. I did not like it, so that's probably for the best. A Restless Truth - Freya Marske Sequel to A Marvellous Light - magic and lesbians on an ocean liner. It's a really fun read! Under the Whispering Door - TJ Klune This hit hard with my dad recently passed - it was lovely and soothing, though. Green Creek series - TJ Klune If you want to lose yourself to a new series, this is the one. Not what I was expecting, based on his other books, but in the MOST delightful way. The House in the Cerulean Sea -TJ Klune I love everyone in this bar orphanage The Witch's Heart - Genevieve Gornichec The story of Angrboda, Loki's first wife, the mother of Hel, Fenrir and Jormungandr. I really enjoyed this retelling of Norse mythology. Red, White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston The writing wasn't great, but you know - it was fun. Carrie Soto is back - Taylor Jenkins Reid Loved this - perfect summer read (if you enjoy tennis matches) A Power Unbound - Freya Marske The conclusion of the trilogy. I personally vibed most with the first book, but it was absolutely lovely to see all the charachters together and solve the puzzle! Pride & Prejudice - Jane Austen A comfort reread. I've read this so many times I can probably recite it in my sleep. Just a solid book. The Haunting Season: Ghostly Tales for Long Winter Nights - Bridget Collins A wonderful collection of creepy stories, really really enjoying this! (I'm past the halfway point and I will finish this within the next few days, so I'm counting it!) Also loved the story by Natasha Pulley that featured Mori, Thaniel and Six! Any books you'd like to read from my list? Recommendations for me for next year? (always room on my to read pile) Feel free to post your list and tag me in it! (please!)

Another abusive man who started his transition after committing sexual violence.
By Genevieve Gluck. February 6, 2024
A popular transgender TikToker in Australia who previously had gained thousands of followers as a “proud trans woman” has pleaded guilty to aggravated counts of producing and possessing child exploitation material, gross indecency and indecent assault. The South Australia District Court heard that Rachel Queen Burton repeatedly abused two children, and then stalked them and their family into homelessness, before he began claiming to be a “woman.”
Burton was first arrested in October of 2022 by the elite Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team and charged with child abuse and exploitation offenses. In December that year, Burton had denied the allegations, but he has now pleaded guilty. Though Burton is from Coolalinga in the Northern Territory, the crimes were committed in the Southern state.
During recent court proceedings, both the children and their mother strongly condemned Burton in their victim impact statements.
“You are a gross, phony, self-indulgent thing who has cheated my children out of so much, and took it away from them without care,” the victims’ mother said.
“In your online rants, you showed no remorse for your bad behavior, all while knowing what you had done … getting an audience for your false life was far more important. You can wear any mask you like, but the truth is out and everybody knows who you really are, finally.”
The victims’ mother described how, after she discovered Burton’s abuse, she fled the area with her children, only to be followed by the sexual predator. She told the court that at one point, she and her children were residing in a police-issued safe house until Burton “showed up at the window, peering in,” causing them to flee again.
“No food, scared children, too scared to go anywhere, never knowing if you could find us … when the children did sleep, nightmares haunted them,” she said. “Being homeless was extremely grueling, the worrying was relentless, but you were online having the time of your life… We were all betrayed, tricked and lied to. You are the monster, you make me feel sick to my stomach.”
The youngest victim, whose age has not been disclosed, told the court that Burton’s abused had made her feel “like a bird trapped in a cage.”
“I was happy before you broke the rules, I didn’t know what was going on at the time, I feel angry at you for doing the wrong thing to me,” she said. “I felt like a bird trapped in a cage, all I wanted was to be free … I still worry that you will find me.”
The second victim, a boy, said he was constantly “terrified” and that he had difficulty sleeping due to chronic nightmares. “I’m always worried you are going to turn up somewhere, and this makes me feel terrified,” he said.
Burton’s case was first reported by The Advertiser, which referred to Burton as a “woman” and utilized feminine pronouns for him.
Burton was best known for his popular TikTok account, which had over 36,000 followers and boasted 418,000 ‘likes.’ On his profile, he describes himself as a “proud trans woman” who is “living my best life with no regrets.”
Tumblr media
In January 2022, Burton posted a video announcing he had been on hormone replacement therapy for 1 month and providing his viewers an update on his physical health.
“I [thought] I was supposed to get moody. But I haven’t been moody since starting the testosterone blockers … I got a little bitchy — just a little bitchy, that was when I was straight on the estrogen,” Burton explains, “I still cry. I still cry heaps. I’m still an emotional wreck. But it’s a nice emotion.”
Burton, who is currently being held in a correctional facility for men, has been remanded in custody awaiting further sentencing submissions in April.

Why I Love Emily Walker
Emily Walker. Wife. Mother. The Inciting Incident of the show we all know and love. The "missing piece" of the Walker family.
Emily is an interesting aspect of the show to me because while she's rarely in it, she has such an impact on the story and the characters. From her death and the mystery surrounding it to the impact she's had on the individual characters, Emily's presence can be felt even when we don't see her in the episode. I wouldn't necessarily say she's haunting the narrative (outside of season 1 at least), but I think she's had enough impact on the show to warrant an appreciation day despite having relatively few appearances compared to the other characters I've done it for.
Something that draws my attention about Emily is how much we know about her just based on what the other characters tell us. She was a loving wife and mother. She was intelligent with a bit of a wild streak. She broke the mold her father set out for her to follow her own path in life. She had a way of making everything better that no one else in the family can replicate. She was a star soccer player and started the Sacred Heart student bonfire tradition. And, alongside a heavy dose of sobering reasoning, she had an interesting sense of humor that led her to buying her husband a taxidermied boar head for his 32nd birthday.
All of these details given to us in bits and pieces throughout the shows run come from other characters talking about her, flashbacks, and Cordell's own head. It's always nice to see the "dead wife" treated like a real character, even if she isn't around much, and Walker handles it beautifully.
But probably one of my favorite things about Emily is the ambiguity of her appearances within the present canon of the show. Is she a ghost watching over her family, or is she just a figment of Cordell's conscience? We may never know and I prefer to keep it that way.
To round this off, here's a short list of things I love about Emily:
Genevieve Padalecki
Having a full character
Beautiful
Community-minded
Independent
Spunky
Wonderful mom
Loving Wife
TL;DR
I love Emily Walker

Shadows of Faith 1/3
SUMMARY - In "Shadows of Faith: The Corruption of Sweet Carmilla," we follow the story of Carmilla, a devout young woman who anticipates a traditional marriage arranged by her parents. However, as her wedding day approaches, Carmilla's nightmares grow increasingly vivid and disturbing. She finds herself consumed by hunger in her dreams and haunted by the sensation of being watched. Amidst the chaos of her nightmares, a seductive voice calls out to her, whispering her name, "Carmilla." This voice belongs to Desdemona who reveals to Carmilla that she will eventually lose her faith, at which point she will be ripe for the taking.
Carmilla’s Nightmare
Carmilla relished in her morning walk around the Everhart family grounds. A grand estate, purposefully decorated for each season and occasion from Gregory, her father’s library to Genevieve, her mother’s painting studio to the classroom where she and her brother, Benjamin, were taught etiquette and culture of the world. Carmilla followed the well-trodden grassy path created from years of her foremothers footsteps. The sun warmed her deep skin, likened to the soil of Mother Earth. She glided her bare feet across the blades of grass and dirt to be cooled before taking another tentative step forward. Her house was a home filled with memories she’d cherish forever.
Tumblr media
She wondered how she could feel at home on her fiancé, Irvine’s land. He was, “a fine young man,” according to her father. A stranger to her. She couldn’t help her thoughts turning to dreadful things. All the musing made her head spin. A sinking feeling formed in her stomach. These were not the butterflies she read about in her romance novels. It was a more familiar feeling. She was hungry.
She sat at the dining table. It stretched the length of the room. There were no decorations centered, there was nothing on the table at all - no plates, cutlery or crystal.  She didn’t think it was odd, that her family were not in attendance. But the servants were nowhere to be found as well. The entire estate seemed devoid of people. She was alone and suddenly became aware of it.
Everything was still and quiet. Not even her old home made a sound, not a creak or settling noise. Carmilla struggled to remember how she got here, sitting at the empty grand table alone. Her memory faded, her skin still felt the warmed by the sun. She remembered that she was outside once. Why couldn’t she remember that?
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her. Nothing else mattered, she was starving. She made a move to leave the table, when she smelled the most delicious meal. A feast materialized before her, tempting her senses with its tantalizing aroma. She wanted nothing more than to take the food in her hands and bring it to her lips. In confusion, she hesitated, a fleeting thought came crossed her mind, how’d this get here?
The gnawing hunger roared in her gut. Without hesitation she took bite after bite, hardly chewing, hardly breathing as she gulped each morsel down, each tastier than the last. She felt she would never get full. The more she ate the greater the pain grew in her stomach. She was so hungry, the food intoxicating, she could hardly get a hold of herself.
A voice, velvety and commanding, pierced the silence, calling out her name, “Carmilla.” The voice was strong enough to break whatever curse compelled her to eat without sense. She pulled herself away from the plate.
There at the opposite end of the table, a dark figure sat, still and quiet yet their presence filled the room. The air was dense, heavy. Carmilla struggled to breathe. She couldn’t see the stranger’s face as it was shrouded in darkness, she felt the tingle of eyes watching her.
Carmilla swallowed the last morsel, before attempting to speak. She felt the urge to ask the dark visitor a question yet she didn’t know what. She whipped her face with a crisp white napkin made of cloth. As she returned the napkin on the table, a bright red stain caught her eye. She froze in confusion at the sight of it - it was blood.
In shock, she put her hand to her face and felt the congealed blood cling between her fingers, sticking them together, they formed ribbons as she pulled her fingers apart. She looked down at her plate as if that would grant her answers. That it did, in horror.
As she struggled to comprehend the gore before her, the stranger’s voice, resonating, a haunting melody like chimes in the wind, “Carmilla.”
The room smelled of fresh cut flowers. She felt a powerful urge to shift her focus on the stranger at the end of the table. Yet, She couldn’t break her gaze from the carnage before her on the silver platter.
She couldn’t make sense of what she was seeing. She shook her head in disbelief. “No, no, no,” Carmilla shook her head, covering her bloodied face with her soiled hands.
A familiar warmth enveloped her, “Carmilla,” sang her mother.
Her mother’s voice, a sweet escape from the hellish nightmare. She sat beside her daughter, eager to start the day, holding fresh clothes and water in hand for her, “my darling, Carmilla.”
Carmilla jerked awake, startled but grateful to be free of the deep sleep. The sun’s raze flooded her bed chambers. A look of relief washed over her beautiful sweaty face.
Tumblr media
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost. Bad dreams again, my sweetling?” Her mother inquired, concern evident in her voice.
“Yes, but”, her mind losing the grip of the dream that felt more like a fading memory, “I can’t seem to remember it at all.”
”Ah, what a blessing then. We can focus on more important matters.” She set her daughter’s day clothes on the bed and poured a pitcher of warm water in the washing bowl. She gleefully continued, “We have wedding dresses to try on. They’ve just arrived this morning.”
Carmilla sat up slowly, the lingering fear of her dream made her feel sluggish. She felt the familiar feeling in her abdomen. She lifted her covers to reveal fresh blood staining her bed linen and sleep gown. Her mother, unshaken by the sight, did not hesitate to ring the bell for the servants’ assistance.
”Do not fret. We’ll get you freshened up.” Her mother assured her with confidence.
“I guess I won’t be trying on any dresses today?” Carmilla asked, disappointed.
”We can still peruse the selection,” she held her daughter’s hand, “You just rest. The first day of bleeding is always the worst. I will have the servants bring you your favorite.”
Her mother made a gesture to the servants without speaking a word. They moved in an organized fashion. They prepared a copper tub for bathing and fresh clothes for bleeding days.
She was served a plate of duck bacon, buttered toast with apple-cinnamon jam, freshly cut fruits and berries with black tea. Gazing at her food she felt a hint of nervousness but couldn’t remember why.
Her mother distracted her from her anxious thoughts, ”When you feel better, we can take a stroll around the grounds if you desire. Exercise is good for you, especially on your Moon-day.”
She recalled the serenity of walking, then the dreadful feeling returned as if anticipating the other shoe to drop. The emotion soon passed, fainter now and weaker, she focused on other matters.
She forced a weak smile, ”I’d like that very much.”
In the dressing hall, several rows of pearly white wedding garb displayed before them, waiting to be chosen by Carmilla. She and her mother studied the dresses intently before moving to the next. A servant follows them closely, writing down their comments about each garment.
”Number…34,” Carmilla paused, making sure the servant wrote it down before continuing.
”I love the lace trim on the bodice,” her mother commented, the servant feverishly writing.
”It’s a bit tight here,” Carmilla criticized.
“We’ll send it to the tailor, of course,” her mother reassured, she couldn’t find a bad word to say about any dress, she loved them all.
The mention of a tailor and Carmilla’s mind reeled with thoughts. Each trousseau felt like clouds beneath Carmilla’s fingers. This was everything she dreamed of since she was thirteen years old. She had libraries full of diaries, vision journals and scrapbooks packed with artist’s illustrations, poems from classic writers, and her own prayers detailing her perfect life to come; her perfect wedding, her perfect husband and perfect children. Choosing the perfect dress with her mother completes one task from the list of to-do’s.
Carmilla decided to do a combination of her mother’s wedding dress and something new. Her mother’s wedding dress, passed down for five generations, didn’t quite fit her body type. She had wider hips and a deeper bosom than her mother. The sense of style had changed over the years, Carmilla desired to make a dress of her own.
The dress would be tailored by none other than the bride-to-be’s best friend, Emily. She was more than an expert tailor, she knew every curve of Carmilla’s body as they were once interested in heavy petting on the long and lonely nights.
Emily’s affections couldn’t be returned by Carmilla. It was unclear if it was the pressures of tradition and religion, economic status, or the fact that Carmilla couldn’t see herself happily wed to someone who couldn’t give her children.
Her mother would say, “Have your fun with the girl now. When the time comes to make the family and your God proud, you must get married to someone who can provide for you as you provide them with future children.”
Emily is a tradeswoman. Carmilla is an Everhart. The Everharts amassed a great fortune from once being tradespeople several centuries ago. Now the family is a thriving business. Taking their special friendship seriously would be going backwards down the poverty line.
When Carmilla envisioned her perfect wedding, it was her betrothed that flooded her mind’s eye, not Emily. Her husband-to-be, is Irvine Quartermaine. A man her father approved of. He was of good stock, wealthy, and he’s a devout follower of Easis, like the Everhart’s. A perfect match for sweet Carmilla.
And yet, she desired nothing more than to be held by Emily again. She couldn’t shake the forgotten nightmare, she had grown accustomed to Emily’s support. The ill-faded dream slipping from her mind like smoke in the air. She couldn’t tell if the sinking feeling in her gut was from her cycle or the ill night visions. No, this aching was deeper, the pain lingered in the body, like the dull soreness of fatigued muscles.
She remembered the sleepovers of her younger days. Carmilla grew up sickly and bedridden most days. Emily would keep her company during those challenging times. They’d hold hands as Emily fed her because she was too weak to lift the spoon. When Carmilla woke up screaming, Emily would be there, holding her in her arms. She wondered if Irvine was as kind and gentle. He had to be, she dashed the thought of doubt, if he follows Easis’ teachings he has to be a good man. But what if he isn’t? Her stomach turned at the thought of her dreams being dashed. She closed her eyes and hurriedly plucked a pale bridal gown from the rack.
Her mother smiled happily before confusion appeared on her face, “This one, love?”
She nodded her head before muttering, “I don’t feel well,” and hurried out the room.
The day yielded to the night. Carmilla drank chamomile tea to soothe her nerves. The uneasiness of the day melted into the rhythm of night. Cicadas sang and the cool breeze rustled the tree leaves. She looked at her bed intently before making her way to the walk-in closet. She borrowed through a forest of hanging clothes to reach a wooden box. She knelt before it as if praying. She opened the box to reveal an aged charm. This trinket was handmade. She gently took the charm into her hands and hugged it to her chest.
“It was only one bad dream,” her mother’s solemn voice came from behind her.
“I haven’t lost faith like you,” she walked past her mother to her bed.

Oc rants again because I can’t stop talking about my Crp ocs.
(Mainly these two)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lyna was from Louisiana then moved to the Bay Area. but her mother died in childbirth shortly after the move since she was 6 months pregnant when they just moved . And her brother Jean and sister Genevieve was born in the Bay Area. Her parents were/are morticians now her father is probably retired and her siblings took over. Genevieve and Jean dislike yueri now and it’s completely understandable why they dislike him. But Lyna was the “oddball” undiagnosed autistic girl that was a sweet kid growing up. She started her gothic and grungy looks at the age of 9 and her dad did not care. She wanted to be a mortician but obviously she didn’t because of her death at 16. Now Lyna liked urban legends which caused her to summon slenderman thinking “this is a joke” so she ended up dying as a result. And then her bf became a proxy because he got manipulated by slenderman and uses the possibility that he could bring her back(lies I’m pretty sure he can’t do that) and her ghost to make him stay loyal and it’s been 17 years. And Lyna is probably not happy. And she haunts yueri and yueri(her bf) dosent mind the fact that she haunts him. Even if it’s for once and a while.
Nika/Anita Hernandez
Nika is not ok now she’s 25. She never had a good role model in her life. She mother was terrible to her and her dad only for her dad to leave and not take her with him. Than almost get murdered by two murders after walking into a crime with her friends. Than lose her memory of herself and get basically adopted out of pity to said criminals. All at 12/13 so yeah her life was intense. Heck they lied to her(mostly rina and slendy)saying her friends stood her up. But she dose remember she had it bad and she believed slenderman “saved her” from her miserable fate. So I want to make when she is in her 30s is when she realizes I’ve been lied to. After finding her father and old friends who loves her and misses her.
