midoriya izuku — ADORATION FROM DAY ONE
from the first day, he’d definitely had a crush on you since then.
it’s painful that you don’t quite notice it, but it’s been from the very start with him. the moment your first ever conversation with him ended, was the day you became imbedded into his mind forever, his heart palpitates everytime he hears your name, he tries to act subtle with the flush of his cheeks whenever you guys make eyecontact, presumably when he’s doing his word ramble.
activities spent together as friends would be taking buzzfeed quizzes, watching funny hero compilations, and of course, random shower thoughts.
his cheeks flush in pink whenever you lean onto him after a vigorous training session, your face pressed against your palm as you drink down from the waterbottle he offered to you. he’s a loss for words when you remember specific details of things no one but him would remember, because he’d be talking too fast.
scenarios go flying in his head whenever he lays down in bed. restless, and unable to fall deep into sleep, and when he replays the events that happened that day, that’s when he’s able to calm down. he can only start scrambling on how he’d tell you, that is.. if it doesn’t ruin what you guys have.
todoroki shōto — GRADUAL ADMIRATION
you were an one in a million, even before he realized his feelings.
you stuck with him through his best and worst moments. you saw the grime parts of him that he only expressed out of frustration, and you also saw that well polished version of him, a version of him that’s adorned in a clean turtle neck. he doesn’t know how it exactly manifested, but it was surely when he sat down on his futon, heart beating quite rapidly as he recalled what your voice was, your words, and your expression. and that was when he knew he was pinning on you.
activities he’d look forward to would be looking at memes of his dad, baking and accidentally setting the piece of batter on fire, reading weird books that were made by those new york times authors, buying oddly ugly clothes you’d never need,
shouto can’t help but smile when he sees you asking for some warmth, or maybe something cool, and while you’re talking to him like it’s a regular day, he doesn’t know what else to do but pull you closer when you fall asleep in a bus beside him. he’s also stuck with just admiring you, watching how your facial expressions change with each realization you make inside of your head.
he doesn’t know why it’s like this. his heart wasn’t acting like this in the years before, or maybe he’s sick.. it would be terrible if he was, and he wants to find out, because he wouldn’t be able to stand it if it affected what you guys have.
bakugō katsuki — SUBTLE.. OR MAYBE NOT.
it’s a miracle that he actually tolerated you, and it wasn’t just for a moment too
it wasn’t like you actively bothered him (bc he’d get sick of that shit quick) but just so happened to get roped into every single situation with him, and he just gradually got more used to you. he surely acted like he didn’t like being around you, but he found himself texting you, a reminder that he left a meal in the fridge for you and if you didn’t eat it, he’d eat it instead. he also found himself teasing YOU, and not the other way around, but if anyone did that— they’d meet their untimely end. and that’s how he realized it.
activities he.. didn’t hate a lot were arm wrestling with you, eating spicy food without milk, sending weird memes and with the context ‘that’s you.’, walking home with you because you’d get lost without him
he hates that everything suddenly changed, and he only noticed. he’s been checking you out since then, and he’s glad he’s never gotten caught. everytime he decided to text you ‘his best friend’, he found himself wondering if it’s appropriate, or if you’re asleep, or if he sounds too nice. that’s probably when he tosses his phone to the side, mumbling about getting that shit out of the bag soon.
kaminari denki — WEIRD REALIZATION
the best friend that was always goofy and quite chaotic around you, that was until you accidentally did something that he found attractive.
you guys always clicked with each other, practically sharing a braincell every single time you guys joked around with each other. your thought process was practically linked with his, and it was strictly platonic. you’re attractive, yes- but when you were laughing at his antics at 2am, you fell onto his lap. eyes staring at his electrifying gaze softly, yawning as you claim that you’re sleepy
activities you guys find yourself doing for the fun of it were reading cringy and badly written fanfics, making weird roleplays, doodling on each others’ faces when one of them sleeps, and making memes, printing them out and framing them.
it was such an eye opener to him, and he’s unsure if he has any regrets or not. everytime he sees you, he’s suddenly reminded of that night, and everytime you attack his shoulder during a laugh attack, he grows aware of your hands. he’ll be a mess, until he gets it out. but until then, he’s wondering if it should stay platonic, or if it should move forward. he’s unsure
shinsō hitoshi — CONTEMPLATING FROM AFAR
you guys worked well together. very compatible, and miscommunications were rare.
you were just conveniently there when shinsō needed someone, and you guys clicked so well, to the point he didn’t even remember a time he fought back with your attempts of being friendly. you were also that friend that managed to remember his presence, and bring him to places he needed to socialize (just so he’d work on it) and you’re oddly so patient with him, it’s crazy. he’d assume it was all strictly platonic until he found himself staring at you, and there was a split second that he imagined inside his head, a vision of you in his arms. and he shakes his head, because you’re his bestfriend, but.. the idea itself isn’t terrible.
activities you found each other bonding over were sneaking out, just to go to 7-11, asking random questions out loud and only for the other person to answer, aggressive mario cart, watching dance moms and the kardashians just because, and dragging shinsou to the bathroom so he could try on a painful pore strip with you at 1am.
he hates himself for being like this, and shinsō can’t help but feel guilty for checking you out whenever your back is turned, or when he starts anticipating for you to walk through that door with a painful skincare product in your hands. but he sighs to himself, because it’s now or never. if your wish was to make it strictly platonic, he’d be content with that as long as if it didn’t ruin anything, and if you were to be his then.. score.

Meet the Parent(s)
A/N: This is a quirkless AU, lets pretend the Todoroki's are a happy functional family. My apologies to @myheelsdontmatchmysweatpants thank you for beta reading this exceptionally traumatic piece of comedy. Get ready to bleach your eyeballs y'all.
Warnings: 18+ NSFW, taboo themes, vanilla sex, fluff, alcoholic mother.. I mean its pretty tame
Pairing: Touya x F!Reader
Word Count: 3983
Tumblr media
“NEVER trust men.” You rolled your eyes as your mom went on another one of her man-bashing tangents.
“I’m serious Y/N. They’re always amazing at first, wining and dining you, promising you the world. Then when shit gets real- BAM! They’re gone, leaving you in the dust.” She shot back her last sip of wine and wiggled the glass in front of you asking for a refill.
“Mom please. Touya’s different. He’s dependable and considerate. I promise if you just give him a chance you’re gonna love him.” You walked into the kitchen and instead of grabbing the wine you poured her a glass of grape juice. She was sloshed enough to not notice the difference, you were experienced enough to recognize the signs of when she needed to be cut off.
“I know he is baby I’m just saying -hic- keep an eye on him. I know I will be tomorrow night!” She slumped over setting her elbow on the table, clumsily resting her chin in her palm. Her eyes were already at half mass.
“Yeah about tomorrow night. Could you maybe hold off on the drinking? At least keep it to one glass..” You wanted to add instead of one bottle, but you knew where that would lead the conversation and you’d rather not get in an argument tonight.
“Oh yes of course sweetie. You know I would never want to do anything to -hic- embarrass you.”Even her smile was crooked.
“Okay well maybe we should call it an early night. I want to make sure we’re nice and fresh for meeting Touya’s family tomorrow.”You helped her out of her chair and walked her to her bedroom, tucking her in.
Your mother was stressed. And when she’s stressed, she drinks. You couldn’t blame her. All in one night you revealed things are getting pretty serious with the boy you’ve been talkng to, and told her the following night you’ll be bringing her to dinner to meet him and his family.
She never did well with you having boyfriends, always so worried they were going to do you wrong like your father did her. You knew very little about the man, only the bits and pieces she shared about him. He was a regular at the bar your mom worked at, always flirting with her. They started dating and six weeks in she got pregnant. When she told him he flipped. He offered her a very large sum of money to disappear and she agreed, leaving town with a broken heart and swollen belly.
You felt bad for your mom, knowing the experience really jaded her. She never dated again, throwing herself into a new career all while being a full time mom. You hoped that seeing how amazing Touya was and how good you two were together, she would change her mind about love and get back out on the dating scene.
On the drive back to your place you called your boyfriend. You were beginning to feel nervous for the upcoming event.
“Hello dollface.” His deep voice was hypnotic, instantly soothing you.
“Hi handsome. How did it go telling your family about dinner tomorrow night?”You absentmindedly chewed on your bottom lip, a terrible habit you developed when anxious.
“Fine. Natsuo and Fuyumi won’t be able to make it. Shouto’s still doing his internship with dad’s company so he’ll be late along with my mom since they carpool to work. My dad however insisted on driving with me. He’s very interested to size up the woman who might give him grandchildren one day. Has to make sure you’re up to his standards.”His lighthearted chuckle did nothing to calm the nerves caused by his terrible joke.
When you didn’t respond he continued, “Oh come on Y/N I’m only kidding. I know they’re going to fall in love the moment they make eye contact, just like I did.”
“God I hope so.” You sighed, “Although its not just me I’m worried about.”
As you were getting ready for bed there was a knock on your door. Looking through the peephole you spotted a beautiful set of cerulean eyes and your heart leaped. You opened the door, forgetting you were in a skimpy set of silk pajamas.
You practically jumped into him, bouncing on your tippy toes so you could snake your arms around his neck. He held you close, splaying his palms across your lower back before reaching down further to grab a handful of buttcheek.
“What are you doing here handsome? Shouldn’t you be at home? We have a big night tomorrow.” You leaned back so you could see his face but stayed in his grasp.
“I wanted to surprise you. When we were on the phone earlier you sounded like you were stressing out about dinner tomorrow. I thought I’d come by and.. distract you.”He held you at arms length and let his eyes wander down to your lips, then chest, legs, and back up to your face, taking his time to enjoy the view. “But it looks like you were already expecting me?” A cheeky grin split his face.
Just then, the realization that you were standing in the hallway in basically underwear hit and you turned, wiggling your booty at the man behind you before pulling him inside. The latch clicked into place and he used your hold on his hand to spin you so your back was against the door, placing his hand behind your head to cushion it from hitting the hard surface.
Your lips parted and a small yelp escaped. Touya pressed his body into yours, sliding his hand to the back of your neck, his other hand untangling from yours to join. He nipped at your bottom lip and then slowly traced his tongue across it before enveloping your mouth with his own. You closed your eyes and kissed him back, arching your body into his.  His kisses started migrating to your jaw, and then down the side of your neck. You hummed, tilting your head to the side to give him better access. When his kisses went from feather light to opened mouthed your eyes shot open. You grabbed a handful of his hair at the nape and pulled his head away from your neck. A growl rumbled in his chest and the feral look he gave you sent a shiver down your spine.
“No marks! Dinner tomorrow.. remember?”Although you could kick yourself for stopping him, you knew you’d thank yourself in the morning. He rolled his eyes at you, letting out an exaggerated sigh and rolling his neck to add effect.
“Okay okay fine. I’ll just have to leave my mark in other ways then..” And with that he bent down and tossed you over his shoulder in a fireman’s carry, heading straight to the bedroom. He unceremoniously dropped you onto the bed and began to take off his clothes. You leaned back on your elbows and laid there watching his movements. The way his muscles flexed as he pulled his shirt over his head. His strong hands undoing the buckle on his belt to then pull down his pants so he was in nothing but boxer briefs. You pulled your lip between your teeth while you enjoyed the show.
With a cocky smile on his face he leaned over you on the bed, moving so his lips barely grazed your ear. “Are you going to undress or do you need me to do it for you?” The baritone of his voice vibrated down to your core, causing your panties to dampen.
You began to undress but he grabbed your wrists and pinned them above your head against the bed. “It’s okay dollface. Let me do it for you.” He slid his hands down the length of your arms and down your sides stopping at the hem of your shirt. He pulled the fabric up over your head, your body lifting to assist the motion. He took a moment to admire you, slowly tracing your areola with his fingertips, one at a time, and watching them harden into perfect peaks. The action made goosebumps raise across your skin.
Once he was satisfied he moved to your lower half, hooking his fingers into the waistband of both your shorts and panties. Leaning in close to your body he began to pull the fabric down your legs, immediately noticing the string of your juices attached to your panties.
“Damn baby girl, is that all for me?”You recognized a hint of pride in his voice.
Smiling you nodded and squirmed a bit on the bed underneath him. “Mmm yes Touya. Its all for you.” There was no point in hiding the lust in your voice, It was useless to pretend you didn’t need him right now.
Once you were fully naked he grabbed you by the back of your knees and pushed your legs up, settling himself between them. He rested the side of his face on your inner thigh and examined you, grazing his fingers down towards your slit and the back again, never touching where you want him to. You felt so vulnerable in this position, everything splayed out for him to see, but he made you feel safe.
His eyes met yours as he continued his teasing touches. “You are so beautiful.”
His pupils were blown, just as you imagined yours were. Finally his index finger skimmed over your opening, gathering your juices, and found purchase on your clit, rubbing small circles into the little bundle of nerves.
You let out a moan, closing your eyes and throwing your head back against the pillows. He turn his palm and slid his middle finger inside you rubbing his rough pads along your favorite spot. A heat began to collect in your core. “Eyes on me babygirl.”
You struggled to keep your eyes open as he continued his ministrations on your g-spot, adding another finger. Your hips bucked again and you began to whimper, you were getting close. He brought his face to your pussy, keeping his eyes on yours. You could feel the heat of his breath on your sensitive skin as his tongue slipped out to trace circles around your clit. Your hips started to wriggle vigorously until you were nearly riding his face. He pumped his fingers in and out of you, every so often to rubbing at the spot that he knew would have you seeing stars.
The heat grew, turning into a volcano about to errupt. Your hands grabbed at the sheets, balling into fists. “Touya.. Fuck- I’m gunnA-” But your words were cut off with a moan as you came undone. Your hips rose off the mattress and you squeezed your legs around his head. He ceased his movements, letting you ride out the wave of your climax.
Lost in a cloud of ecstasy. The release did wonders to calm your nerves. You opened your eyes trying to bring them back in focus. Suddenly you felt a tap tap on your leg and looked down. There sat Touya, head trapped in the fleshy prison of your thighs. You gasped and released him, sobering up from the orgasm he just gave you. “Oh my gosh Touya I’m so sorry!”
He chuckled, rubbing his jaw. “That’s quite alright dollface. If I died between those beautiful legs of yours I would die a happy man.” He placed a quick peck on your lips. “Besides, I know how you can make it up to me.”
Before you could register what was happening you were flipped onto your stomach and your ass was being lifted into the air. He started to rub his length along your slit, smearing your juices on the underside of his shaft. The sensation of his veiny cock rubbing your already sensitive pussy sends jolts of electricity through your body. You groan, grinding yourself back onto him.
“Mmm that feel good baby girl?” He smacks your hip, using his other hand to line himself up with your entrance. A hiss leaves his lips when he pushes himself into you, savoring the way you feel around him. He bottoms out and stills, rubbing tiny circles on your lower back. The stretch feels incredible. He fills you up perfectly, reaching to your deepest erogenous zone. His inaction starts to drive you crazy and you begin to bounce yourself on his cock.
He grabs your hips and leans over your body. “So impatient. Alright then, do you want me to start moving?”You try to grind against him but his grip is firm holding you in place.
“Use your words dollface. What is it you want me to do?”Even though you can’t see him you can hear the shit eating grin on his face.
You let out a whine. “Ple-ease Touya.. p-please move! Need to f-feeel you.”
He starts with shallow thrusts, barely enough to cause friction. You whimper burying your face into the comforter.
“Is this what you want baby girl? Huh?”His grip tightens, so much for no marks. At least its somewhere you can cover with clothes.
Tears of frustration collect at the corners of your eyes and you shake your head no. Another smack lads on your hip. “I said use your words.” This time the command came out in a growl. His thrusts, though still shallow, began to snap harder against you. You needed more.
“Harder please! Ple-ease go harder!” Your pleas were granted when he pulled almost all the way out and thrust into you hard. Once, twice, then sets a brutal pace, pounding into you. He reached forward and hooked his fingers into your mouth, causing droll to spill down your chin. You were a whimpering mess. Moans and grunts filled the apartment, volume raising as you both reached your peaks.
“Fuck- I’m close. Where do you want it baby?”His thrusts turned erratic. You were almost there too.
“Inside! Cum inside me!”Arousal had completely taken over your thoughts, your pussy was the one making the decisions now.
His hand left your mouth to find purchase around your neck, pulling you up so your back was flush against his chest. His other arm wrapped around your body, grabbing your opposite shoulder and pulling you into his thrusts. He released himself inside you moaning in your ear, the pressure sending you into climax once more.
The both of you sat there a moment, steadying your breathing.
“That was..”He began.
“Necessary.”You finished.
You’re the first one to arrive at the restaurant. It was a local place, family owned, making for an intimate setting. The host seats you and you wait for the others, pulling out your phone to check for any notifications. As you look up you spot your mom walking in, she looks anxious. She notices you and smiles, almost walking into someone on her way to your reserved table.
“Hi mom.” You say with a sympathetic smile, “You good?”You rub her back in an attempt to soothe her, thinking to yourself which one is the child again?
“Oh I’ll be fine, as soon as i get a drink.” She flags a server over and orders a cocktail. You drop your hand and sigh, hoping she sticks to her promise of only one.
When her drink arrives she takes a sip, “Aahh much better.” She sighs, smacking her lips.
“They should be here soon, if you wanted to save your one drink for when we get our food..”You watched her take another sip, or more like a gulp.
“Mmm yes, yes. You’re right.”A sense of relief washed over you as you watched her put the drink down.
Your server walked up to the table. “Hello I’m Sou, and I’ll be your server for the evening. Is there anything I can get started for you? Some bread?”
“Yes we’d love some bread, and can we have water for six please? We’re waiting for some more people to arrive.” You smiled at the man.
“Actually, could you point me in the direction of the little girls room?” Your mother asked rising out of her chair. He directed her to a hallway to the right of the table and your mom was off with a quick “Be right back!”
She disappeared into the hallway right as a man with bright red hair and very large in stature entered the restaurant. You knew who he was immediately, him having the same cerulean eyes as your boyfriend. Confirming your suspicion Touya walked in behind him. You stood up and waved them over to the table, not being able to control the smile beaming on your face.
Touya got to you first “Hey babe, you look stunning.” He reached a hand around your waist and kissed you on the cheek. Then he stepped back, giving his father room to approach you. Your stomach did a somersault.
“Dad, this is Y/N.”He kept his hand resting on the small of your back to help calm your nerves a bit.
“Hello Mr. Todoroki. Its a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” You held out your hand and it was soon engulfed by his much larger one.
“The pleasure is all mine Y/N I assure you.”He smiled, which somehow made him look more intimidating. “Touya, you didn’t mention how stunningly beautiful Y/N is.” You grinned, glancing at Touya who looked like he was going to pop a blood vessel trying not to roll his eyes.
“Lets sit. Y/N is your mom here yet?”Touya quickly changed the subject.
“Yes she’s here. Shes just in the ladies room, she should be out any minute.” Sou the server returns with a basket of bread and some waters.
“So Y/N, what do you do for a living?”Mr. Todoroki asks taking a sip of his water. You give Touya the side eye. This was a subject you were hoping to avoid, unsure if his father would approve of your line of work.
“I actually own my own business.” You feel Touya’s hand squeeze your knee under the table, encouraging you to continue. “I’m a salon owner. I have a shop on the other side of town. I started off behind the chair but with the salon as busy as it is now I only do hair one day a week. The rest of the time I’m running the business.”
Mr. Todoroki eyes you from across the table and your heart starts to palpitate. Shit. Is he disappointed?
“Ah! An entrepreneur. I’m always telling Touya in life a person needs to take risks, do what makes them happy. See Touya, you could learn a thing or two from this one.” You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Touya gives your hand another squeeze before letting go.
You begin sharing the ins and outs of the salon world when someone clears their throat to the right of you.
You look up to see your mom, frozen in place, all the blood drained from her face. “Mom?”You start to stand.
Touya and his father turn to greet her, but upon doing so Mr. Todoroki’s face drops and he can’t seem to find the words he was about to say.
“Is this some sort of joke?” Her words were like venom, and seemed to be directed toward the large man in front of her.
“Mom what are you talking about?”You try to laugh off your moms behavior, “This is Touya and his father Mr.-”
“Enji Todoroki.”She sounded furious. You looked to your boyfriend, relieved to see he was just as confused as you were.
“Do.. you two know each other?”Touya asked hesitantly.
Mr. Todoroki finally spoke. “Mira, I-”He looked at you, studied your face, then over to his son, and back to you.
“Oh.. oh no.”
“Can someone please tell us what the hell is going on?”Touya’s volume was raising in irritation.
“This..is all my fault.”You mother said before grabbing her purse and running out of the restaurant.
“Mom!” You called after her, but she was gone.
Anger and confusion rose inside you. The evening started off perfectly, of course your mom would be the one to ruin it. But how did she know Touya’s dad? You weren’t even sure if you wanted to know the answer to that question.
“I..” Mr. Todoroki looked at you, his face unreadable. “I can’t be here.”He too got up and left the restaurant with haste.
“Dad!” Touya called after him, then looked at you. “Do you know what all that was about?”
“I have no idea, but I’m going to find out.”You grabbed your phone out of your purse to call your mom, but just as you unlocked the screen a text message came in, and then another.
Mom<3: I know you’re probably confused, I’m so sorry you had to find out this way..
Mom<3: I don’t know how else to tell you, so I’ll just show you. I only have one picture of your father, and it was taken the night before I found out I was pregnant.
An attachment followed the texts and when you opened it you felt your heart fall out of your butt.
It was a picture of your mom in a skin tight dress with a drink in her hand, she was laughing and leaning into the arms of a much larger man with fiery red hair and cerulean eyes. Your father. Enji Todoroki.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Bonus Scene (that no one asked for):
Slowly you turned to see the same look of trauma on your boyfriends face. He had been reading her texts over your shoulder, and he already knew the story of your father.
Nausea overtook you. You couldn’t speak.  You dropped your phone on the table with the picture still open and the two of you sat there staring at each other.
“Touya?”A young man with split colored hair broke the silence. You both turned to look at him.
“Shou..”Touya addressed his youngest brother in a daze.
“What’s wrong?”Shouto asked, then glancing at the phone on the table he added, “Is that dad?”
You’re Not the One
Pairing: Todoroki x reader, Bakugou x reader
Drama, Angst?, pregnant!AU, happy ending
Word count: 6.4K
A/N: I was supposed to upload this multiple Friday’s ago… But enjoy this quick but long oneshot I have made! Let me know what you think! Do you like having oneshots like this or the series better?
Summary: No one prepared you for motherhood. You didn’t even know the first step to being a parent. What’s even worse was that you were doing it all alone. Will you let a knight in shining armor save you from distress or will you let the father of your child come back in your life and have the perfect family you always wanted?
Bakugou arrived at your apartment all busted up. It was a rough day at work and all he wanted to do right now was lay in bed with you in his arms. He didn’t want to think about how he let a villain get away. Or how he had to defeat a group of people all on his own with no backup, causing all those cuts and bruises. Or how management came running and yelled at him for his attitude towards his fans. He didn’t need anymore chaos. He didn’t want anymore problems. But that’s not how life works does it?
“I’m pregnant.”
Of course you were. Bakugou took a deep breath in and violently let it out, running his fingers through his hair. No, he wasn’t happy. He was already overwhelmed with trying to become the best that he could be at his job. He didn’t need another inconvenience in his way.
You frowned upon seeing his reaction. That definitely wasn’t the reaction you were hoping for. You were expecting shock, for sure. But mad? Angry? Disappointed? Never in a million years.
“What’s with that reaction? Are you not happy?” you asked, shaking a bit. You already knew this wasn’t going to go well when you saw that he wasn’t scooping you up in his arms. He was pacing around the room now.
“I just can’t deal with this news right now.” He told you. You furrowed your brows in concern. Seeing how he was acting right now, you could tell it had to do something with work. Bakugou sat down on the edge of the bed and you joined him, gently holding onto his arm.
“Was it work again?” you asked, already knowing the answer.
“Yeah. I’m already stressed out. I don’t need this pregnant news stressing me out even more!” he started to raise his voice. It wasn’t the first time you heard him raise his voice. You know he doesn’t mean to sometimes, but it always frightens you. He never put a hand on you when he was mad but when he gets like this, you just never know when he’s about to snap and finally do it. That’s how scary he could be sometimes.
“Well, I was hoping that me being pregnant would lessen your stress? Because it should be happy news?” It made sense to you. Having a baby with someone you loved should be the happiest news of your life. And after having a rough day at work, you would think that coming home to good news would be the highlight of the day. But it looks like you were wrong. Did you just make things worse for him?
“I don’t even know how to take care of a baby,” he huffed. You got up from the bed and comforted him from behind. You wrapped your arms around his waist, pressed your chest up against his back, and laid your cheek on his back.
“You think I know either? We can both learn,” you tried to convince him. But it didn’t look like it was working. You started to become anxious and fidgety. This was not supposed to happen tonight. You pictured it so differently in your head and it was all going down the drain.
“No, I can’t take care of this baby,” he shook his head. That left a tight feeling in your chest.
“Cant? Or don’t want to?” you dared to ask.
“Don’t want to,” he replied softly.
“Katsuki!” you desperately called out his name. You heart was breaking. A lump was forming in your throat and tears were threatening to spill over.
“(y/n)!” he called out just as desperate. “I’m so overwhelmed right now! I’m loaded with paperwork. I’m constantly working over time. I don’t get days off. I don’t get breaks. I’m at the peak of my career right now. I can barely take care of you, how can I take of a child that requires more attention than you need on a daily basis?” That last one hurt. You stood there in awe at how he could say that so easily. You didn’t even know what to say. All of this was coming out of nowhere. You both stood still in silence. Bakugou was huffing and puffing by himself while you were trying to process everything he was saying and weighing out your options. If Bakugou didn’t want this baby, you had a few options ahead of you. But before you could think too much, your boyfriend said something that was beyond forgivable. “Get rid of it.”
“Bakugou Katsuki.” Your eyes snapped at him, sudden anger took over you. Out of all the things he could say, he just had to say the most hurtful thing. You could take the criticism. You could take all his anger, his confusion, and his fright. You could take his uncertainness right now because it was sudden news. Both of you never talked about having kids. It only makes sense that he was uncertain about his abilities about being a father. But this. This was going too far. It was unacceptable. No matter how much he didn’t like the idea of you being pregnant or how much he was unprepared to be a dad, he treaded across a forbidden place that was never meant to be crossed. “You take that back right now.”
“No. You either get rid of the baby or I’m leaving,” he gave you the ultimatum. But it was a no brainer.
“I’m keeping the baby,” you say confidently. You were more confident in your answer, more than ever. But that didn’t stop the crushing pain in your chest. The feeling was getting more intense the more you kept looking at him. Bakugou nods his head in acknowledgement. He picks up his work stuff and heads straight to the door. As soon as he opens the door, you scream out his name causing him to stop in his tracks.
“You walk out that door and I swear on my life, you will never see this child,” You threatened. You were shaking with anger, eyes glaring in his direction. Bakugou hesitates. He’s paused at the opened door. And for a split second, you could see a sliver of hope that he comes back to you. But you were wrong. He’s out that door, out of your apartment, and out of your life just like that.
 You were left utterly devasted and completely alone to raise the baby. Honestly, being pregnant was the easy part. What comes after that? Now that was a challenge. It was probably an understatement to say that raising your baby was a challenge. You were struggling. Raising a baby by yourself was hard. There were times when you didn’t know why your baby was crying in the middle of the night. Was he hungry? Did his diaper need to be changed? Did he just want to be held? But sometimes, you would do all that and he would still be crying, making you stay up all night and not get a wink of sleep. There are days were you can’t function properly because of the lack of sleep you would get.
And if that wasn’t enough, you were having a hard time financially keeping you stable. Diapers, formula, and other baby necessities were expensive. You were barely left with enough money to buy food or buy groceries. Maybe a few times a week, you wouldn’t get to eat anything because you didn’t have enough money. And you had to juggle between having a full time job and being a full time mom. You were constantly working around the clock. Everyday, you would be left physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. You can’t even spend time to yourself because you have to tend to your child.
You were rocking your child to sleep, watching as his eyes got heavier and heavier. A sad smile reached your lips but tears trickled down your cheeks.
“Mommy’s having a hard time,” you whispered to your son, sobbing. Yes, the pressure of being a mom got to you. It got to you so bad that you cried every night. God, you were so stressed out and miserable. But even though there were so many hardships that you faced, it was all worth it. It was worth going through all that just to see your son laugh and smile and grow. Despite all the frustrations you went through on a daily basis, you knew it was going to pay off in the end. You loved your son. He captured your heart as soon as he came out. Mommy was having a hard time but you wouldn’t change this for the world.
Just when life was about to get you down, things started to lighten up. You bit your lip and internally cheered when you found out that you had enough money for groceries. You actually had a lot of money left over to buy whatever you wanted. But you were starving. As soon as you got to the grocery store, you made up your mind to stock up on supplies in case you have one of those days again.
You put little Ryota in the seat of the cart and proceeded to go down all the aisles, getting everything you deemed necessary to store in your pantry. While you were at it, you might as well get ingredients to prep yourself a nice dinner for tonight. It’s been a while since you had an actual, homecooked meal.
“Alright, which one should I get baby?” you asked your son, Ryota. He wasn’t old enough to speak yet. Only babbling here and there. Yet, you were constantly talking to him like he could understand you. It was somewhat comforting. You held out two options for him to choose from. Ryota stuck out both his hands, gravitating to the one on the left. You smiled.
“Yeah, I thought so. Good choice, my love,” you squeezed both his cheeks and smothered him with kisses. You then put Ryota’s choice inside the cart and put the other option back. When you went to put that away, another hand was reaching in the same direction, making both of your hands bump into each other.
“Oh, I’m sorr – Shouto?” you began to apologize but once you looked up, you recognized that iconic hair and scar anywhere. He was tall. Taller than you remember. The middle of his hair was swooped backwards, showing his forehead. His build was as impressive as ever and he was carrying a basket of groceries.
“Ah, (y/n). It’s been a while,” he was just as shocked as you were. It’s been what, 7? 8 years? You haven’t seen each other since your school days.
“It has, hasn’t it? Have you been well?” you struck up a conversation. He gave you a soft smile and stuffed his free hand in his pocket. He hummed in response and looked over you shoulder to see your child.
“Looks like you’ve been doing well, too. What’s his name?” he asked, going up to your son and trying to make him laugh. It was working because Ryota seemed to look like he liked him.
“Ryota,” you responded, admiring the way Shouto was playing with your son. It was a weird feeling. You were the one always around your son. Sure, some people held him but it was rare for Ryota to be interacting with a male. It was weird, but a refreshing sight.
“He’s cute. Ah,” he stood up and faced you. “How’s Bakugou doing?” Ouch. He opened up a wound that you were trying to suppress for all these months.
“Oh, um… We’re not…” you tried to explain without it being too awkward, but it wasn’t working. Immediate regret showed on Shouto’s face. He looked back to Ryota and back at you, the realization sinking in. You guess you couldn’t blame him though. Ryota looked exactly like Bakugou. Dirty blonde hair and fiery, red eyes. A mini me of the man who broke your heart. But it’s okay, because now, a new man came into your life. Both of you also weren’t public about your breakup. It was messy anyway. Only a few people really know what happened.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t-”
“It’s okay!” You interrupted him, waving your hands in front of you. It wasn’t his fault that he didn’t know. “Where you trying to get this?” you changed the subject, lifting up the box that you were putting away. Shouto glanced at the box in your hands and nodded. He took it from you and added it to his basket. Now you were both awkwardly standing there together, not knowing what to say. Ryota was huffing and puffing behind you, letting you know that it was time to go. You excused yourself and headed towards the check out aisle.
You bagged all your groceries and groaned in agony. You walked to the store and you really underestimated how much you bought. How were you going to carry all those groceries and carry Ryota. He can’t even walk yet. But you got to do what you got to do. You grabbed one bag and all of a sudden, it was pulled away from your grip. You looked up to see Shouto grabbing all your groceries.
“What are you doing? I can handle it,” you reassured him, but he wouldn’t budge. He continued to grab everything, and soon, all of your groceries were in both of his hands.
“You need to carry him. I can carry this for you,” he offered. Well, it wasn’t really an offer. You bit your lip because you did need help, but you also felt bad for making him carry your belongings. But Shouto was already at the exit, waiting for you to catch up to him. Not wanting to waste any more of his time, you picked up Ryota and chased after him.
Thank god your apartment wasn’t too far. Shouto graciously carried all those bags for you, setting them down on your kitchen floor. You rushed to put Ryota in his crib since he fell asleep on your shoulder on the walk home. When you set him down and made sure he was comfortable, you returned to your kitchen where Shouto was standing.
“Thank you so much, Shouto. I really appreciate it,” you thanked him, still feeling bad and guilty for allowing him to do such a task.
“It’s no problem. It looked like you were struggling,” he says, letting you know that he didn’t mind at all. “Well, I should get going. Call me if you need more help.” He says before making his way to the door. Before he exits your apartment, you were quick to stop him.
“Do you want to stay for dinner? As a thank you for bringing up my groceries?” you offered. He stood there for a minute, debating on whether or not to take the offer. But you gave him those pleading eyes because you had no else to thank him. After much facial persuading, he eventually took up on your offer and stayed for dinner.
Halfway through to making dinner, Ryota woke up crying. You were about to go comfort him when you saw Shouto already on the move. He cradled Ryota in his arms and rocked him back and forth until he calmed down. That shocked you. You weren’t expecting him to take action like that.
“Ah, I can take him” you tried to take Ryota away from him but Ryota was holding onto Shouto tightly. Huh? Your son didn’t know Shouto yet he was hanging onto him like his life depended on it. You playfully frowned and Shouto chuckled.
“I can take care of him while you cook,” he said. You were reluctant at first, but eventually agreed. There was no use fighting Shouto when he already has his mind set on something. So you continued cooking, checking up on the boys once in a while. Bu seeing Shouto play and laugh with your son made you smile. And when you say smile, you’re smiling hard. Like grinning from ear to ear. The sight was cute and heartwarming. You couldn’t thank him enough for looking after your son because you finally got a break to yourself. Even if you were cooking, you were put into a state of mind where it was just you. And you could focus on yourself and just enjoy the cooking process.
Having Shouto over for dinner and letting him look over your son was a great break for you. But it was time to get back into the groove again. You were about to go grocery shopping again for tonight’s dinner when a knock was heard on your door. Strange. You weren’t expecting company. You opened the door with curiosity and was surprised to see Todoroki Shouto waiting at your door.
“What are you doing here?” you questioned him with surprise. He lifted a bag filled with different kinds of ingredients.
“Let me make you dinner,” he says. “To thank you for cooking me dinner yesterday.” You smiled at his kindness, but you had to respectfully decline.
“But dinner yesterday was to thank you for carrying my groceries!” you explained but he wasn’t having it.
“And now I’m thanking you for thanking me,” he shakes the bag, waiting for you to let him in. God, you couldn’t say no to that face. And so you let him in. From then on, he was coming over every day. Cooking dinner started to become a routine, both of you alternating nights on who cooks when. Sometimes you would even cook together. With Shouto coming over, you were able to get more alone time and relaxation from taking care of the baby. But that also means you were spending more time with him. The more he came over, the more you bonded with him. Let’s not forget Ryota. It was an understatement to say that he liked Shouto. Every time he’s over, your son would cling to him every chance he got. And soon, Shouto was coming over for more than just dinner. You thought it was because he wanted to spend time with Ryota. Afterall, he was treating your son like he was his own. But you soon came to realize that that was only half the story.
 4 years later
Bakugou had the day off so he made his way to his nearest grocery store for some snacks. He hadn’t heard from you since that day. After he walked out, he needed a while to get back to his senses and calm down. But by the time he was ready to face you again, you had disappeared from his life. You blocked all types of communication from him and moved apartments. He didn’t think of you often. But whenever he saw a child with their mother, that’s when he started thinking of what ifs. And if you were doing okay. Did you have the baby? Or did you end up losing the baby? Was it a boy or girl? What was their name? Did they look like him? Many questions ran through his mind that he knew won’t get answered any time soon.
He grabbed a basket and went straight to the snack aisle. On the way there, he noticed a woman was having trouble getting something from the top shelf. He was thinking about ignoring her and keep on his merry way. But there was something about her back side that seemed familiar. And he couldn’t ignore his hero instincts to help those in need. He went over to her and grabbed the she was reaching for and handed it to her. But when he looked at who the woman was, his heart skipped a beat.
It was you.
Looking at him with wide eyes.
“(y/n)…” he muttered your name out of instinct. You quickly grabbed your item and stuffed it in your cart.
“Bakugou… thank you,” you muttered right back. God, he hasn’t seen you in so long. And you looked great as ever. Healthy. Happy. He looked around you. No baby.
“You’ve been good?” he asked. Shit, why was this so awkward. You nodded, giving him a small smile that was obviously very forced.
“Mhm, you?”
“Yeah.”
Silence.
The curiosity got the better of him. He just had to ask.
“What about the baby-”
“There is no baby,” you interrupted him very abruptly. Bakugou physically felt his heart crack. There… was no baby? Fuck, now he felt like the worst person in the world. He stared at you, completely and utterly devastated by the news. His eyes were wide with shock, his mouth hung low. He wanted to say something so bad, but the words just got caught in his throat. Bakugou just couldn’t believe that there was no baby. And after he said all those awful things to you. The end result was no baby?
“(y/n), I’m-” he wanted to apologize so badly, but was interrupted by the shouting of a young child.
“Mommy! Can I have this one?” the blonde child asked you, showing you the bag of chips he found. Both of you looked down at the child. Wait a minute. Blonde hair. Red eyes. It was like Bakugou was looking in a mirror. You, eyes wide with panic, looked down at your child then back at Bakugou. You grabbed the bag from your son and gave him a sweet smile.
“Sure, honey. Let’s go home now okay?” you told your son. You looked back up at Bakugou, giving him a curt bow and took your sons hand. Your son was looking up at Bakugou with big, curious eyes but eventually followed you out. Bakugou didn’t have time to react. All he could think about was, that was his son. He looked exactly like him. There was no way that wasn’t his son. And it was too late. You were gone. He was gone. He ruined everything. A single tear dropped down on his cheek as he realized what he missed out on.
 You took your son to the playground so he could get some exercise in. Sitting on one of the benches, hand-in-hand with your boyfriend, Shouto, you watched as your son played tag with a few of the other neighborhood boys. Since that day you ran into Bakugou, your mind was running wild. You straight up lied to his face about Ryota. But he didn’t say anything. Maybe he thought it was someone else? God, but he said ‘Mommy’ right in front of him. Maybe he thinks it’s not his? But they look exactly alike. You internally groan and leaned your head on Shouto’s shoulder.
“What are you thinking about?” he chuckled at you, petting your head lovingly.
“Just things,” you reply shortly. You didn’t want to bring up the topic of your ex-boyfriend, who just happened to be the father of your child. Shouto would get jealous and you didn’t want to cause anymore drama.
“You’re thinking about it again, aren’t you?” Gahh, he knew you too well. He squeezed your hand in his in reassurance. “Look, if he wanted to be in Ryota’s life, he would have tried to contact you by now. And even if did contact you and wants to be in his life, then, I would respect that.” You look up at your boyfriend with a pout and concern eyes.
“Are you sure?” you ask. He looks down at you and gave your cheeks a nice, hard pinch.
“Yes. Ryota deserves to have his biological father in his life,” he reasons. Okay, fair enough. But he didn’t even want to be in your son’s life in the first place. It was so simple for him to abandon you while you were pregnant. And after all the hardships you had to go through, now he wants to be a present father?
“He doesn’t have to know who his real father is,” you say, crossing your arms across your chest.
“(y/n),” Shouto says your name in a warning tone. But you put your defenses up.
“What? I don’t know if I even want him in Ryota’s life,” you confess. Shouto wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you in close.
“Well, think about it. And if Bakugou comes around, you can either accept or reject him. I will be there to support you every step of the way. And if he tries to make a scene, I’ll be there to stop him,” he promises you. That comforts you a lot to know that Shouto will be there for you no matter what. He was always like that. From the moment he entered in you and your son’s life.
“Okay, I love you,” you whispered, puckering out your lips. He laughs and kisses your duck lips.
“I love you, too.” And gives you a few more kisses. You look back at the playground to watch your son play. Panic starts to rise in you. You look to the left. Ryota wasn’t there. You look to the right. He wasn’t there either. You sit straight up and scan the playground one more time for your child, but he was nowhere to be seen.
“Ryota?” you call out his name. Shouto also realizes that Ryota was missing. He’s already up on his feet, calling out your son’s name and searching the playground. Your lips began to quiver and your legs began to shake. This was not happening right now. Shouto frantically whipped his head around, trying to see if he could get a glimpse of Ryota running off. That’s when he saw him. As soon as he turned his head to the side, he saw Ryota heading into an alleyway. Immediately, Shouto was running full speed in that same direction. You saw Shouto running and ran after him. He was too fast for you to catch up, but you ran anyway
Bakugou was on patrol duty for the day. He hated these days because all he had to do was roam around the city streets to make sure everyone was kept safe. He would catch villains here and there, but patrol duty was so boring for him. Until today. He was walking down the sidewalk in his hero costume when a little boy suddenly came out of nowhere, almost making him fall on top of him.
“Oi, kid! Watch where you’re going!” Bakugou scolded the young one. The child looked up and Bakugou froze in his tracks. This had to be fate. His son… Your son just so happens to run into him. Today out of all days? The blonde boy is looking up at Bakugou in awe.
“Mister? Are you a hero?” he asks. Bakugou smirks and kneels down so that he’s at his level.
“I am. What’s your name kid?”
“Ryota!” Ryota says his name in full confidence, grinning from ear to ear. Ryota… so that’s his name. Bakugou could feel his heart warm up at the sight of the boy.
“Little Ryota, where are your parents?” he asked. He looked around but it looked like Ryota ran off by himself. Looks like it was his job to help find his parents. That means finding you. He was starting to get his hopes up. If he ran into you, then he could try to apologize and maybe, just maybe, start things over.
“Ryota!” a man shouted the boy’s name. Bakugou looked up and an old classmate of his was scooping up Ryota in his arms. “Don’t run off like that! You had us scared to death!” he scolded the boy, but was relieved that he wasn’t hurt.
“Sorry, daddy,” the boy apologized. Ha? Daddy? Bakugou looked at the man and scoffed. Both men looked at each other and the atmosphere got chillingly cold.
“Bakugou,” the man said his name as a greeting. Bakugou frowned.
“Half-and-Half bastard,” What a surprise. So you were dating Todoroki now? It was like a staring competition between you two. A deadly staring competition. Todoroki cleared his throat and adjusted Ryota on his hip.
“Thanks for stopping my son,” Todoroki thanked the pro-hero. But he said it in the most monotone voice ever. No emotion behind it whatsoever.
“Tch,” Bakugou just scoffed and looked away. Todoroki’s son? Nah, that wasn’t right. That was his son. Todoroki took that as a sign of ‘you’re welcome’, and walked away with Ryota in hand. Bakugou just stared off in their direction. Thank god he did because Ryota laid his head on Todoroki’s shoulder, but he was waving at him.
When Ryota was returned to you, you held him in your arms, falling to the ground in tears. You scolded him for running off without telling anyone and to never do it again. But refused to let him go because you were so afraid for his life. You couldn’t let anything happen to him.
All three of you returned to your apartment. After a year of dating, you and Ryota moved in with Shouto in his apartment. You felt bad because his apartment was so big, nice, and fancy but he insisted you both move in. So that Ryota can have a better space to grow up in. If it was for Ryota’s sake, you couldn’t pass up on the offer.
Shouto was putting Ryota to bed while you were finishing up cleaning the dishes. You finished up the last dish and dried your hands when a knock startled you. You looked at the clock. Why would someone be here at this hour? You weren’t expecting anyone. When you opened the door, you were shocked to see Bakugou standing there.
“Bakugou! What are you doing here? How did you know I lived here?” you questioned him, stunned.
“He’s mine, isn’t he?” Bakugou ignored your question with a question of his own. He was staring at the floor. You wanted to deny, deny, deny. But you were too ashamed to say anything. So he tried again. “Ryota.” He said, this time looking up at you. “Ryota is my child, isn’t he?” You bit your lip and nodded your head. You heard him sigh and he ran his fingers through his hair. “You lied to me.”
“What choice did I have?”
“You could have said the truth,” he argued.
“And then what!” you raised your voice, your emotions started to get the better of you. “So you could come running back to be in his life?” your voice cracked at the end from your throat tightening up because you refused to cry. And you tried your hardest not to get too loud, in fear that your boyfriend was going to overhear. But little did you know, Todoroki was leaning against the wall in the hallway, listening to everything.
Bakugou didn’t say a word. Because it was true. He wanted to be in his son’s life. He knows that he fucked up big time. But now, he wanted to right that wrong doing. But you shook your head.
“No. No, I’m sorry Bakugou. That’s not going to happen,” you denied him.
“That’s not fair,” he whispered, his heart breaking once again. He knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but he didn’t know it was going to hurt his bad.
“Not fair?” you let out a soft laugh. Unbelievable. “You want to talk about not fair? You left me. Alone. While I was pregnant. And I had to raise that child all by myself,” you were sobbing now. You were remembering all those hardships that you had to face alone and it was all pouring out. “Do you even know how hard it was? How hard and exhausted I was every single day? And now you want to show up when he’s all grown now? That’s not fair.”
“I know. I know. Fuck, I’m so sorry. I messed up big time. But I want to make it right now. If you let me be in our son’s life, I’ll prove it to you that I can be a good dad. That you can trust me and-and,” Bakugou was so desperate. But you stopped him.
“You were my everything, Bakugou. I was so excited to start this small little family with you. But you destroyed all my hopes and dreams.” Bakugou bit his bottom lip to try to stop himself from crying, but was failing miserably. No matter how hard he tried, the tears wouldn’t stop coming. He violently wiped his teary eyes with the palm of his hand. You gave him a sad smile as you reminisced what you two had together. “I think it’s best if we… if you just forgot about us.” You suggested. Bakugou couldn’t accept that. At least not yet.
“Please, please just think about it?” he begged, his eyes telling all. When you looked at those eyes, you could tell how serious he wanted this.
“Fine,” you said after giving a bit of thought. “I’ll think about it. Go home, it’s late.” You told him. Agreeing with you, he nodded his head and went on his way. You gently closed the door and took a deep breath in. You weren’t expecting this. You guess you were, but not this soon. You turned around to go to you room, quickly wiping your tears away before Shouto could see. But when you looked up, Shouto was already there, arms wide open and eyes looking at you with concern.
“You okay?” he asked as you embraced him in a hug. He kissed the top of your head hugged you close.
“Yeah,” you breathed out, barely managing to say anything. But you weren’t. That night you couldn’t sleep. Your mind was racing with thoughts. This whole situation was bothering you and you couldn’t seem to think of anything else. There was only one way to relax your mind. Sneaking out of your shared bed with your boyfriend, you quickly put on your bathing suit and took a dip in the pool. Did you mention that his apartment came with an outdoor pool right next to the living room? It was convenient when you needed a place to clear your mind. You rested your arms on the edge of the pool, looking out into the city. You let the city lights and the noise of traffic distract you. So much that you didn’t even hear Shouto come up behind you. You squealed when you felt a pair of hands wrap around your waist. He laughed in your ear, slowly kissing the back of your head, making its way down to your neck and then you shoulder.
“Can’t sleep?” his deep, husky voice whispered in your ear.
“No. Did I wake you?” you softly asked back and he shook his head. He held you in silence, both of you looking at the city of lights. Now you were able to relax. His touch was comforting. It was as if his touch put a spell on you to make you relax.
“Hey,” Shouto started.
“Mhm?” you hummed in response. He took a pause.
“Let’s have a kid,” he proposed. You looked up at him and he was already looking down at you with the most loving eyes. It took you off guard, but it was somehow making your heart flutter.
“Us? Like you and me?” you asked, just to make sure you were hearing things right. He nodded his head and cocked his eyebrow.
“Why? Don’t like that idea?” he teased you. Your face flushed red and you waved your hands in front you, then rested on his chest.
“It’s not that! I was just thinking we would…” and you started to trail off. You’ve discussed this topic before but not too much. You were nervous what he was going to say. “…get married first?” You glanced up at your boyfriend and his expression remained unchanged. God, sometimes you couldn’t tell what he was thinking. Finally, a smirk was plastered on his face.
“If you were just a little patient, maybe you wouldn’t have ruined the surprise,” he says which leaves you confused. You saw him take out a frozen block from his trunks. Confusion still prominent on your face, he unfreezes the block to reveal a beautiful velvet box. Shouto froze the box to keep it from getting wet when he was in the water. And when it was time, he would use his other side to unfreeze the box. He opens the box easily with one hand and a gorgeous diamond ring was sitting inside.
“Shouto,” you gasped, admiring the ring. He takes it out the box and slips it on your ring finger.
“Marry me?” he asks. You cup both of his cheeks to bring him into a smothering kiss.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes!” you kept repeating, every time giving him another kiss. You loop your legs around his waist and he traps you in between his body and the edge of the pool. Both of you spend the rest of the night making out and having a bit of fun in the bedroom.
 Bakugou shows up at your apartment the following week while you were eating breakfast. His eyes were puffy and he looked a mess. Your heart goes out to him and felt like you had tortured him enough. After talking to your fiancé about the whole situation, he convinced you to let him in and allow him to step up as the father to your child. But with conditions.
When you answered the door, Bakugou immediately saw the ring on your finger. He swore he didn’t see that before. If he was being honest with himself, seeing that ring on your finger broke his heart a little bit. Seeing you engaged to Todoroki, seeing you happy made him jealous that that wasn’t him. Because he should have been in his place. He should have been the one you were engaged to. He should have been the one you were happy with. He should have been there the entire time. And he wasn’t. For what? Because he was having difficult times in his work? At least he was relieved to hear the news that you were going to give him another chance at raising your son together. He was going to make up for what he missed out on. Todoroki joined you at the door and stuck his hand out for Bakugou to take.
“Welcome to the family.”
“OBC News with a terrible update;
All Might has been declared deceased.
This is our final broadcast as the League villains have since set off a bomb big and strong enough to destroy more than just Japan. I hope everyone has time to contact those they love, and may your G-d be with you when it hits. Kane J signing off for the last time. Good night Musutafu.
Denki clicks the remote and the dorm common room falls silent.
“All Might’s dead?” Sero whimpers.
“We all are.” Bakugo spits. “We’re all dead because the heroes couldn’t stop the villains. They killed us.”
“Bakugo, you should make peace with this before it happens. You don’t want to die with all of that hatred in your heart.” You suggest, putting your head down. “They did their best.”
“Don’t tell me what to…” Bakugo starts his usual banter but realizes it’s futile at this point.
All of class 1-A is in the common room, their eyes previously glued to the television to find out the verdict of their now-dead mentor. Nobody is crying. You think they’re all in shock. You’re not crying either.
“I guess we should call our families,” Mina pulls out her cell phone but sees the service has gone. “Never mind.” She put her phone back in her pocket to her pajama shorts. “I can’t even say goodbye to my parents. My mom must be worried sick.”
The room is filled with silent mutters, maybe prayers, maybe admittances of regret, you swear you can hear one or two proclamations of love from your fellow classmates. Even Ochako grows the confidence to grab Deku’s hand with a whisper of ‘I’m scared’.
“Class, I’m sorry.” A gruff voice breaks the tension, the group turns around swiftly. It’s Mr. Aizawa all beaten and bloodied. His face is barely recognizable, his hair is stuck to his face with his own blood, and probably others as well. You’re surprised he even made it back to the dorms. He collapses to his knees and his head is bowed.
You stand up first to help, he’s barely sitting up on his own. Momo and Hagakure follow closely.
“Momo and Hagakure please get the first aid.” You get on your knees to be at his height as well so you can fully assess his damage and the girls go off to find the first aid. “Mr. Aizawa, you shouldn’t apologize for things that you can’t control. You all did your best. We all know that…” You pull his hair back and see that his eyes are gone. You let out a small gasp, but he grabs your wrist.
“Don’t tell them,” He quietly cries. “I don’t want them to be even more scared than they are. I’m sorry you had to be the one to see, but I know you can keep it together so I’m glad it was you. I’ve always known you were special.”
You’ve never seen Mr. Aizawa show emotion like this. It really is over.
Your classmates come back with the first aid, but you tell them Mr. Aizawa doesn’t want it, and he just wants us to sit together and appreciate each other in our final moments.
“Thank you all for being such an aspiring class.” You help Mr. Aizawa find his way to the couch. All you can think about is how his blood is going to stain it. “You truly were the best students I ever had. I’m honored I got to teach you. You all have such great potential. I’m sorry I couldn’t stop the League soon enough for you to be able to show it off to the rest of the world. You all had the drive to be the number one hero.” You sit next to your teacher, and he gives your wrist a slight squeeze. “Thank you for showing me what it means to be a good teacher with a greater purpose.”
“Mr. Aizawa…” Iida smiles. “Thank you for everything you have taught us.”
The class gets closer to each other in a huddle. You can tell it’ll happen any minute now. The bomb. It’s just a gut feeling.
“Mr. Aizawa, I have to ask you, my dad…” Todoroki begins to speak and Mr. Aizawa sighs before sniffling and shaking his head. “I see then.” Todoroki moves his eyes from the teacher to the floor.
Kirishima and Tokoyami, who are on either side of Shouto, rub his back to try and comfort him.
“I’m sorry, Todoroki. Most pro-heroes didn’t make it. Endeavor, Midnight, King Orca, Best Jeanist, Ms. Joke, All Might… They all showed up and tried to stop them, but it just wasn’t enough. There was more to them than we expected. I was the only one who escaped. But what I saw-“ He cuts himself off and thinks about his next words. “They all died very quickly and painlessly.”
You haven’t been very close to Mr. Aizawa, he is a very closed guy after all. But you could tell he was lying. What he actually saw was the pro heroes dying in terrible ways. He was only granted mercy after his eyes were removed. That physical pain was labeled as a relief to the alternative of watching his friends and coworkers die off.
You look to your left and see Katsuki sitting by himself away from the group. He’s the only one not in the huddle.
“Bakugo? Why aren’t you sitting over here? We’re all saying goodbye.” You try to inch him to sit with you all.
He slowly stands up and his eyes meet yours, they’re empty. As soon as he sits, he huffs and mutters out his last words.
“We’re so young. We’ve barely lived. We’re just kids.”
It was as if Katsuki’s words were the final nail in the coffin, everybody soaks them in and beings crying. Even you shed a tear. Not for yourself, you’re dying, which is sad, but you’re really only worried that all of your friends are dying as well. The classmates that helped you through so much and fought beside you on multiple occasions. You always imagined that they would live full lives of success and triumph. You would help them be the best they could be, even if that meant failure for yourself. And now they’re going to die at your side. And there’s nothing you can do to help; all you can do is sit and watch in hopes that you go last so they all have someone to die with.
Shortly after Class 1-A’ revelation of death, a boom can be heard from the other side of Japan.
“It’s here.” Kirishima chuckles. “I guess I’ll see you all on the other side. Maybe we can save more people there.”
“Goodbye class. You did well.” Iida sits up tall, staying strong as class rep, staring at the blast head-on.
And just as if you were seeing light for the first time, it was also your last.
How would the Todorokis be with their s/o?? Like Natsuo, Fuyumi, Shouto and Touya/Dabi??
I really believe that there should be a spin off called ‘Keeping up with the Todorokis’ where each one of them brings home their s/o and shit hits the fan. I love this prompt and I love ya. 💖💖💖
P.S It’s 4 am and I can’t sleep so please excuse any typos or grammatical mistakes. I’m in a daze. Enjoy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Natsuo Todoroki
-He met you at a convention.
-He was in his second year of university and he decided to attend one of those medical conventions, to feel more like a doctor.
-You bumped into him as you were entering the conference room and being as smooth as always, he asked you to sit with him.
-After that your friendship blossomed.
-You found out that you were actually in the same university but in different classes and that’s why you didn’t know each other.
-Being in the same campus helped a lot with the development of the relationship.
-It didn’t take long for him to fall head over heels in love with you.
-He realized just how in love he was with you after a particular brutal confrontation with his father.
-He had been so angry and desperate for comfort that his body responded by itself and led him to your door.
-You of course helped him as best you could, making him some tea and quickly fixing him up with something to eat.
-You could see his anger as it radiated off of him.
-Also the temperature dropped so...yeah.
-You didn’t push him to talk, opting to stay silent and allow him to talk when he felt like it.
-And it worked.
-He opened up to you, letting everything go.
-About his past, about Touya, about his father and eventually how much he wants to just hold but is afraid that he’ll just be like him inn the end.
-He is terrified at the possibility of him hurting you like his father did his mother and making you miserable.
-He told you that he truly loved you.
-You were in tears at that point.
-His past accompanied by his confession was just too much for you to handle.
-You jumped into his arms, wrapping him into one of the tightest hugs he had ever experienced and you just sobbed.
-You said you loved him too and that he was one of the loveliest and sweetest people you had ever met, he could never be like his father.
-Of course at some point he started crying as well and you two became two sobbing messes on the floor of your apartment.
-Your relationship was like a fever dream.
-Natsuo is a fun guy but he’s also one of the most crackheaded people on this earth.
-One minute you’re being smothered with kisses and the next you are being manhandled to the floor in an attempt to get the TV remote.
-It’s...it’s a fever dream.
-He likes showing his goofy self to you and making you question his intelligence.
-I mean how could one person be an astounding medical student while challenging you that he could fit more marshmallows in his mouth than you?!
-He values his family even if it links with his father’s abuse.
-So expect to meet Rei and Shouto after your one year anniversary or so.
-Fuyumi is the first family member you meet and that’s completely an accident.
-You were over at Natsuo’s and she came to drop off some food because he can’t cook for shit and she saw you.
-All the Todoroki’s adore you.
-And when I say all I mean all.
-Even fireball man.
-He doesn’t really like you at the beginning because YoUr qUIrK iSn’T gOoD enOUgH, but later he warms up to you and is actually excited for your visits.
-Shouto claims that you make incredible soba so he automatically worships you.
-Lowkey had a mini crush on you but it lasted for like a week and then he got infatuated with his s/o so you were long forgotten.
-Rei loves you because Natsuo loves you and because you are literally a ray of sunshine.
-Dabi....he takes his time because being in contact with his family after so many years is weird and seeing them slowly building their own families is even weirder, so you get the point.
-All in all, they can’t wait until they get to call you an official Todoroki.
Fuyumi Todoroki
-MY GIRL IS A LESBIAN.
-Change my mind....see you can’t.
-She’s the shy one of the Todoroki group and it shows.
-You have to do the first move and every move for that matter.
-You two met when you were dropping off your nephew off at his school because you are a responsible AUNT!!
-You almost left without him tbh.
-You were being led to the class by him because you had lost every sense of direction.
-Once inside the class you were greeted with 17 pair of eyes on you which later changed to squeals of excitement.
-Kids are weird okay... they get excited from the tiniest of changes and seeing a new face in the class had them ECSTATIC.
-They asked you question after question and you were slowly suffocating by a particular kid having wrapped his arms around your middle and squeezing, until a soft voice was heard from behind you.
- “Kids go to your seats please, and Daichi please let go of the lady.”
- “But she’s so pretty.”
-It took some time to get him off of you, mainly because you weren’t helping.
-You were to busy being in a daze as you looked at Fuyumi.
-She apologized about their behavior and asked if you were okay.
-You, trying to be smooth, said you were fine and asked for her name.
-She answered with a smile and you started talking until a cry was heard from inside the class and she had to leave.
- “I hope to see you around, Todoroki-chan.” you said with a wink and left.
-She was blushing like crazy and barely mustered a ‘goodbye’ before hurrying into the classroom.
-After that you would regularly drop your nephew off only for a chance to see her again.
-Finally, after many attempts, you mustered up the courage to ask her out and were taken aback by her excited squeal of approval.
-Your relationship could be described as the definition of softness.
-Fuyumi is a soft person and prefers tranquility over anything else, so that translates to a relationship argument free and just a ton of fluffy dates and cuddle sessions.
-You’re relatively protective over her, especially after she shares her past with you, and become a literal watchdog every time Endeavor is in the proximity.
-You click with Natsuo mainly because you have your crack moments and he can’t help but vibe with you.
-She’s super understanding and knows when work has been especially hard on you.
-She will make some tea and give you a massage, followed by a mini make out session and maybe some steamy times.
-She introduces you to her mother only after you two have exchanged ‘I love you’s because that’s when she knows that you are serious with her.
-Rei A D O R E S you.
-She lights up when she sees you with Fuyumi.
-Shouto is a little more closed off so you’ll have to try and get him to really like you.
-With some help from Natsuo’s s/o you’ll be on his good side in no time.
-Endeavor was from the first people to meet you mainly because you were visiting Fuyumi at their house frequently and he didn’t like you.
-You two could become feral if Fuyumi didn’t intervene.
-Eventually he warmed up to you.....because Fuyumi was marrying you so he didn’t really have a choice.
-After he realized the importance of family he started having the mindset that if his children were happy he was happy.
-And you made Fuyumi happy.
-Still salty over your nonexistent/normal quirk though.
Shouto Todoroki
-You were in the same class.
-And he found you beautiful since day one.
-So it was kinda inevitable.
-Like come on, you were perfect to him.
-You were beautiful, smart, caring and super strong.
-He fell head over heels after he fought you at the sports festival.
-He spoke to Midoriya about this weird feeling he was feeling in his chest and he diagnosed him with love.
-Okay, Shouto has no idea what to do.
-His perception of love was obliterated by his dad and his mom wasn’t in his reach for advice.
-Fuyumi was an option but he didn’t really feel comfortable.
-So what did he do?
-He googled it.
-He googled how to flirt and how to make a girl like you.
-And you can imagine the results.
-Kaminari level flirting.
-Thankfully you found his attempts cute and finally comforted him about the whole flirting thing, asking him if he liked you.
-He said yes, you know, bluntly and asked you out.
-Your relationship was awkward at first because he had no idea what he was doing and you didn’t want to overstep and make him uncomfortable.
-After some time, and many kisses and reassuring later, he relax and let himself go.
-TOUCH STARVED BABY BOY!
-He’s clingy af and if he traps you in his arms, he won’t let go.
-You’re his now.
-End of story.
-You help him cope with his trauma and encourage him to reach out to his mom and siblings.
-You become his shoulder to cry on/ rant about his father and you are there for him for everything.
-During the Nomu incident with his father, he was really shaken and that’s when he said ‘I love you’ for the first time.
-You were in his dorm room, him having his head in his hands as his breaths became labored.
-You didn’t say anything, instead opted to massage his back and just envelope him in a loose hug.
-Everything he felt for his father, the hatred and the anger, had momentarily disappeared and had been replaced by dread for his safety.
-He had destroyed his mother and their family, but he was still part of him.
-Shouto stayed there, in your arms, and just contemplated about his feelings towards everyone, not just his father.
-And that’s when he realizes that he loves you.
-And he just blurts it out.
-You are taken aback to say the least, but you still return his sentiment.
-He decides to introduce you to his family after that.
-First stop is Rei, who loves you.
-Seeing her Shouto looking at someone like that, with so much love in his eyes, is addicting and she couldn’t be happier.
-Next stop, Fuyumi and Natsuo.
-You go out on a triple date and things are hectic.
-Chaotic energy overload.
-But everything works out and the all of them end falling in love with you.
-Endeavor, tolerates you because of your quirk.
-Not that you care.
-Shouto keeps you away from him anyways.
-A wholesome boyfriend.
-Husband material right here.
Dabi/Touya Todoroki
-Burn me you flaming ball of daddy issues.
-Friends with benefits.
-That’s how it all started.
-Just some fun nights, shared between two partners in crime before returning to murdering people.
-The thing is that, in order to make Dabi fall in love you have to do something crazy af.
-You two were on a mission to spy on Overhauls rookies, when someone spotted you.
-He was about to shoot one of those quirk erasing darts right on Dabi’s back when you pushed him out of the way, getting your quirk erased and hitting your head because of your unceremonious landing.
-You have never seen one (1) Dabi roast 20+ people faster before.
-Your whole body felt stiff and heavy, making even the slightest of movements a challenge.
-Dabi was on his knees in no time, calling your name like a mad man and trying to keep you conscious.
-He scooped you up in his arms, cold sweat running down his spine as he watched you fall in and out of consciousness.
-Even after you closed your eyes, you could here him faintly calling out to you, spewing nonsense just to stir a reaction.
-Once at the hide out, he almost roundhoused Shigaraki’s ass because he got in his way, he rushed over to the new healer of their group.
-After being told that you were going to make it, he disappeared for a week.
-You woke up and he wasn’t there, which kinda hurt.
-Okay, you may or may not have feelings for him for some time now, but of course you won’t say anything..
-You will scare him off.
-Little did you know though that Dabi was getting himself wasted in an attempt to drown his feelings for you.
-His plan failed and he decoded to confront you about it.
-Get it out of the way.
-He came back and dragged you out of the hideout and aggressively confessed to you.
-You two are now exclusive.
-Congrats!
-Things are really chill.
-He worries when you go on missions by yourself, especially after seeing you like hurt after that Overhaul mission.
-Cuddles with him are based on his mood.
-If he doesn’t really want to cuddle, he won’t .
-You can’t change that no matter what.
-You are the only one who knows about his backstory and his family.
-After being together for a long time you encourage him to reach out to his siblings or his mom.
-His dad is a no no from both of you.
-And eventually he actually does.
-He introduces you to them and they have to warm up to the both of you.
-Because having your until recently deceased brother introduce his s/o to you is kinda....overwhelming.
-In the end, they are happy to have their brother back.
-And seeing so happy and trusting with another person, had them warm.
-Dabi deserves love.
-Poor baby suffers and he doesn’t deserve it.

Daisies - Shouto Todoroki x Reader
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS, THEY BELONG TO KOHEI HORIKOSHI
I should really be going to bed rn but instead I had an idea while listening to some music and got really in my feels SO HERE IT IS <3
Warnings: Angst ending in fluff You could see it in the way that he carried himself. Shouto was nowhere near who he used to be when you first started dating. You missed the stolen glances the two of you shared, the red that took up residence on his cheeks whenever you came into the room, and the subtle touch he gave your hand which indicated that he wanted to hold it in his. You remembered when he would do anything in his power to get home to your shared apartment so that you could have dinner together and maybe watch a movie. Now when he got home, if he came home at all, it would be way past dinner and bordering on the next day. You used to stay up for him, waiting to put his meal you had prepared in the microwave so it could be warm by the time you helped him put away his coat and work bag when he came home from the agency. At first, you believed that it would only be a couple days of this, but those days turned into weeks, and those weeks turned into 3 months. You stopped staying up almost 3 days ago.
Currently, you were on the phone with your mother who was begging you for more details on your two year relationship.
“I know you know this, but your father proposed to me after two years of dating, about as long as you and your boyfriend have been dating,” she said, making you swallow a lump that was lodged in your throat.
“You’re right Mom, I do know this. You tell me every chance you get,” you say in a joking voice with your voice as blank as a slate. You loved your mother, you really did. However, recently, she felt the need to hint at a proposal that you knew was not coming soon, if at all. For the duration, the two of you had never talked about marriage or if you thought about wanting to get married.
“I’m just saying, you would look beautiful in a white dress with a bouquet of daisies walking down the aisle. Where is Shouto? I haven’t been able to reach him in a while, can you put him on the phone for me?” At her words, you rub your eyes with your right hand and will yourself not to cry. You’ve already cried enough these past two weeks.
“U-um,” you begin, your voice wavering, “he’s n-not home. Probably won’t be for a while.”
“...Honey, is something the matter?” She asks, concern laced in her voice. It’s the soft comfort in her voice that makes you break. You sob into the phone, letting your tears run down your face.
“M-mom I’m so scared,” you say, crying through your words. “I-I don’t think he loves me anymore.” You feel your body shake from your weeping, now holding onto the edge of the kitchen counter for support.
“Oh, Y/N...” your mother says, her voice quiet.
“He hasn’t come home for days and when he does come home, I feel like we’re strangers. I haven’t been able to talk to him and see what’s actually going in his life in so long that now our conversations are one of us commenting on the weather. THE WEATHER!” You scream into the phone as you walk over to your couch and collapse onto it. Your mother stays quiet as you vent, and boy, do you vent. On how Shouto’s given you the excuse of ‘work’ when you know for a fact that your friend Ochaco’s husband, Midoriya, worked at the same level that Shouto did and he came home at 7:30 sharp every night, and she lived ten minutes farther away from the agency than you did. How he hasn’t made an effort to try and take you on a date in months. How he’s stopped doing anything to make you feel like you were in a relationship.
“Y/N, you know what you have to do.” Your mother says, her voice serious.
“If you’re implying that I should break up with him-”
“No honey. You need to talk to him, and not about the weather. You need to tell him what you just told me and how much his actions have been hurting you. And, if he doesn’t see the fault in his actions, that’s when I would let him go. If anything happens, you can always have your old room back. I miss your cooking anyways, I feel like the house has downgraded from a 5-star restaurant to a 2-star one ever since you moved out.” This earned her a light laugh from you as you began to wipe the salty tears from your cheeks and take a deep breath.
“Thank you Mom,” you say.
“I’m always here for you Y/N, you know that. I’ll always be in your corner,” she says. You say goodbye and exit from your phone app to open up messages. You send Shouto a simple and concise message.
Y/N: I would really appreciate it if you could get home a little earlier tonight. We need to talk.
What shocked you was that almost immediately after, you saw the three dots pop up on the opposite side of the screen.
Shouto: Okay. Something up?
You were definitely not going to be starting this conversation over text. Absolutely not.
Y/N: We’ll talk when you get home.
The three dots didn’t pop up again, so instead, you decided to make dinner. You prepared a simple yet fail-safe comfort dinner for yourself, (favorite meal). Just as you finished fixing a plate for yourself and covered the rest in foil, you heard the faint jingle of keys outside of the apartment door. Your eyes dart up and your heart begins to beat wildly. Not in months has he been home early enough to have dinner with you - you thought you would’ve had more time to prepare what you were going to say to him. The door swings open to reveal Shouto with his work bag slung around his shoulder, hero costume stuffed in it. That detail stood out to you - never has Shouto not folded it carefully in order to prevent wrinkles. He dropped his bag near the front door and slid off his shoes. When he met your eyes, you stopped chewing instantly. The two of you stayed in your positions, perfectly still, until you slowly got up and grabbed an extra plate, putting a good portion of the meal you made onto it, and set it across from your spot at the dining room table. As you were sitting back down, Shouto walked towards you slowly, warily. It was like he was trying not to spook you. Like if he made any abrupt movements, you would jump up out of your chair and run for the hills. In his hand, you noticed, he held a daisy, which he placed on the table. Daisies always used to be a thing between the two of you. On your first date, he had taken you on a picnic in a meadow surrounded by the white dainty flowers. Daisies meant that you loved the other person. Taking a forkful of the food and placing it into his mouth, you could see him relax a bit. He always had a soft spot for your cooking, no matter what he felt like. The silence was overwhelming as the two of you ate, so Shouto decided to clear his throat.
“It’s been a long time since we had dinner together, huh.” He says. This simple sentence, just those 11 words, set you off. You slam your fork onto the table making Shouto jump a bit in his chair.
“Yes, Shoto, it has been. It’s been 3 months and 5 days since we last shared a meal together.” You say, venom leaking from your voice. Shouto instantly knew what this ‘talk’ you wanted to have was about. Just as he was about to open his mouth to respond, you cut him off. “No,” you simply say, “let me speak first. I could forgive the first couple of weeks when you came home late or said you had to stay over at the agency, but good god, what has been consuming all of your time that has made you spend more hours there than you have at home? I know for a fact that Midoriya works in the same department and has the same title and responsibilities that he has, but he’s home at 7:30 on the dot every night to see his wife and have dinner with her.” You snarl. “You haven’t been visiting home, I’ve called Natsuo and Fuyumi to ask if you were there and they said no. You haven’t been visiting your mother because the nurse makes sure to send an alert to our computer system for security reasons. So what, what has consumed your life in such a way that you don’t want to spend your time with me anymore?” As much as you tried, you couldn’t help it. You feel the moisture on your cheeks before you can comprehend that you're crying. Shouto’s face falls, his heart breaking as he can see yours has been crumbled for a long time.
“Y/N… I’m so sorry,” he says, his gaze never faltering from yours. He takes a deep breath and stands from his seat, making his way over to yours and kneeling in front of you. “I…,” he choked out. You always knew that putting his feelings into words has never been one of Shouto’s strong suits, so you granted him the time to slowly get his thoughts together. “I freaked out.” He said simply.
“W-what?” You said, confused.
“I know we’ve been together for a long time, and I know that you’re looking for someone to settle down with and I freaked out because I didn’t think that I was a person who could do that.” You close your eyes and exhale. “I’ve been staying out late because I’ve been going to counseling, and I couldn’t let it get in the way of work. I wanted to help myself so that I could make the both of us happy and partake in an equal and loving relationship. I know I should’ve told you, but I… I just couldn’t get myself to spit it out.” You slid from the chair to your knees so you could be on the same level as Shouto was. Shouto rustled around in his jacket pocket and what was in his hands made your eyes widen. It was a small velvet box which left little to imagine what was inside. Before he could say another word, you put a hand on top of it to prevent him from opening it. This caused panic to flash in his eyes as they darted up to look into yours.
“Shouto… I love you. You know that I love you, but are you sure?” You make sure to squeeze his hand. “I need you to be completely sure before you do this, because I am, and I can’t imagine myself with anyone else.”
“Yes.” He says, instantly. You smile and lean your forehead against his. What confuses him is when you grab the box and nestle it back into his coat pocket.
“This is not me saying no. I just think we need to get back into our old groove before this happens. We both know that we want to reach that milestone, but we need to run there first, okay?” You ask. Shouto exhales and reaches his hand up to cup your cheek.
“Okay. You share a kiss and let yourselves cry and hold the other. Shouto’s strong arms now move to tighten around your waist, which sends you over the moon. He hadn’t done that in a long time.
“Let’s go to bed, yeah? I don’t want you to be late tomorrow.” You whisper, sniffling.
“No. I’ll shoot Midoriya a text telling him that I’m not gonna be in tomorrow. I want to make up for lost time.” Elated, more tears trail down your cheek, but these were happy ones. Letting Shouto pick you up, he carried you with such care to your soft bed and helped you get changed into pajamas. He taps your shoulders to get you to hold your arms straight up so that he can slide the blouse you wore to work today off of you. You unclip the pinchy bra you wore yourself and slid down the flowy pants you wore until they pooled around your feet. Shouto handed you one of his shirts, the one you’ve always had a soft spot for. It was now ragged with holes and falling apart at the seams, but the softness of the material enveloped you as he helped your arms through the sleeves. When you poked your head through the top of the shirt, Shouto gently gathered your hair and pulled it out of the shirt, laying it down your back. He himself then got changed and climbed into bed next to you. The two of you were like magnets with opposite poles, immediately being attracted to the other’s side. You lay your head on his chest and you feel his chin find its place on top of your head. You finally felt peaceful. Felt loved. And, more importantly, felt Shouto at your side.
“I love you,” he breathes. The air he exhales tickles your neck which only makes you nestle into him more.
“And I love you,” You murmur.
“We’re going to get married one day, okay?” He says, brushing a hand over your hair and playing with the ends of it.
“Okay.” You smile, a smile gracing your face as you drift off. Shouto’s heart didn’t slow to its normal pace until hours later. He was proud of himself. He finally admitted to himself that he was ready to enter a relationship where he knew that both of you felt the same way. For the entire time the two of you dated, he knew that he loved you, but he was terrified that one day, a switch would go off and his parents’ relationship would become yours. But now, with you in his arms agreeing to marry him one day, although he hadn’t yet formally proposed, guided him into a blissful sleep. Dreamworld decided to be nice to him, because all he could picture in his mind as he slumbered away were images of you, rings, and daisies

You didn't know Izuku had a quirk.
You never throught Izuku would make it into UA, at least not the hero course. You knew he was applying, and you knew he was determined to get in but you also knew how hard the entrance exams were. Just a quick moogle search would tell you that the acceptance rate was low, without a quirk it was damn near impossible.
When you applied to UA with Izuku you hoped that he would get into another course, like the support course, he certainly was smart enough. It wasn't that you didn't believe in him, but the reality of getting into the hero course without a quirk was just low to impossible. When he came to you and told you he got in, you were ecstatic. He beat the odds, he would become a quirkless hero. He would become a hero alongside you, his best friend.
Your first day of UA was a shock. You hadn’t been able to test with Izuku in the entrance exam because they separated everyone up into different groups, you had no clue that he had a used a quirk to get in. When you heard from a student in glasses, Tenya Iida, that he had a quirk, you were in disbelief. When it came time to throw the ball during the endurance test you were utterly hurt when Izuku threw the ball with such force.
You were hurt upon learning he had a quirk. How could he have a quirk? Izuku, your childhood friend. Izuku, your best friend. He was quirkless. You spent many nights up late comforting him when he cried over the fact he was quirkless. You spent many days defending him from your peers when they bullied him over it. Sometimes you felt guilty for having a water quirk, and you even had a scar from fighting with Katsuki when he called Izuku worthless.
Why would he lie? Why would he lie to you? You trusted him so much, didn't he trust you?
You had been deciding how to approach the quirk subject with your best friend. You knew you should've left Izuku and Ochaco alone, they had to prepare for their fight against Tenya and Katsuki, you should've been preparing with your own teammate but you needed to confront Izuku, you wouldn't be focused enough to fight if this was this distracting you.
You ran your nervous hands through your hair as you approached Izuku and his teammate. You bit on your lip as ypu spoke to him, careful words trying to make your voice seem calm and the least upset as possible.
“Izuku, can we talk? I mean... Unless you’d rather get ready for your fight.”
Just by standing in front of him, Izuku could tell you were nervous and upset. He had known you for years, he could see the way your hands shook ever so slightly, the way you bit on your lip, habits you did when you were nervous. The way you adverted his gaze and wearily eyed Ochaco backed up his thoughts. Izuku looked over at his teammate with an apologetic smile.
“I’ll be right back.”
Izuku grabbed onto your hand and pulled you away from the rest of class. Worry etched his face as he spoke his words. His worry brought comfort to your stomach. Surely if he was this worried over you, then his lie was not as complex as you thought. Perhaps, he had a good reason to lie - but was there ever a good reason?
“What’s up? Are you okay?”
“I... When did you get a quirk?”
With your simple question Izuku dropped his hold on your hand and nervously played with his own. It was such a simple question, but he couldn't answer it. Between his silence and nervousness, all those negative feelings came back.
Why did he lie to you? You trusted him more than anyone else, did he not trust you the same?
“You told me you didn’t have a quirk, you had Katsuki convinced too... I guess I just don’t get why you lied to me... Out of all people, I know the most about you, we’re best friends.”
You took a deep breath as he remained silent. You could see his eyes, just as nervous as yours. The little clogs in his brain turning, trying to find an excuse. There wasn't a good excuse for a lie as big as this, was there?
“I just wanna know why, I mean, I- fuck, people made fun of you, but I was always there for you. Do you not trust me?”
“[Y/N], it’s not like that.”
“Then tell me why you lied.”
“[Y/N]... I can't tell you...”
You balled your hands into fists and kept them at your side. He could have said he was a late bloomer, but he didn't want to lie to you. He couldn't lie to his best friend, but he couldn't tell his mentors truth. He couldn't lie, nor be truthful, because of that he was going to lose you.
“Can’t or won’t? Never mind, it doesn't matter.”
Your eyes were glaring down at the ground as a few tears leaked out as your hand went up to your arm and grabbed your scar. He didn't trust you enough to leave this information with you. He didn't trust you enough to be honest, but you had a scar adorned on your skin, proof that you would do anything for him.
“I don’t think we should be friends anymore.”
You didn’t wait for Izuku’s reply. You didn't look up to see if he was upset. Instead you wiped the tears off your eyes with the back of your hand and turned on your heel. You walked away from Izuku, your now former friend and walked towards your partner for the class assignment.
He was tall compared to you, and his hetero-chrome eyes pierced into your soul. He towered over you as you smiled at him and introduced yourself.
“Hi, I’m [Y/N] [L/N].”
He wasn't there to make friends. He wasn't there to play nice. he was there to become a hero. Yet as you smiled at him, he couldn't help but flash you one of his own, albeit a very was quick, and brief one.
 “I’m Shouto Todoroki.”
Tumblr media
After you introduced yourself to Shouto you really connected. Maybe it was the fact your quirk is elemental based like his. Maybe it was the fact that your water and his fire were so different yet so good together. Maybe it was the fact that your water was so calming in contrast to his fathers fire, the man he was trying his best not to be.
You became Shouto’s first friend at UA. You stuck through his mood swings and earnestly listened to him when his father upset him. You began to have late night talks about your dreams and aspirations. You walked to school every morning, and you ate lunch together. In a sense, Shouto replaced Izuku as your best friend.
You were Shouto’s first real friend, one his father actually tolerated. You were Shouto’s best friend. Maybe that was why it hurt him so much when you and Izuku got on talking terms again.
It had been Shouto’s decision to befriend Izuku after the sports festival. It had been him to push you into talking with Izuku again. He had been the one to tell you that Izuku was nice. He had been the one to tell you that Izuku deserved a second chance, so why did it hurt so much. Why did it hurt to see you smile at Izuku? Why did it hurt to see Izuku already at your door when he came by to walk you to school? Why did it hurt when Izuku helped you with homework? Why did it hurt when he saw you both so close?
Shouto couldn’t help but stare down at his food as you and Izuku goofed off across the lunch table. He began to miss the days before he urged you to talk to Izuku. He missed the days where it was just you too together. The days he had you all to himself.
“My mom wants me to come home from the dorms for the weekend, do you wanna come with me and see her?”
“I love your mom! Of course I’ll come by.”
Shouto moved the food around on his plate, but he still didn't eat it. He wanted to be able to take you home. You would love his older siblings. Natsuo and Fuyumi would adore you.
“Sho, you should come with us.”
Shouto’s briefly looked up at you but put his attention back on his food once he saw your huge smile. You looked so happy at the aspect of going with Izuku to be his family. He wanted to be able to take you home, but why would you want to? His family was anything but perfect and loving like Inko and Hisashi Midoriya. He had a bastard father, dead brother, and a mentally unstable mother. They were perfectly, dysfunctional.
“Oh. That’s alright, I’ll just stay in my dorm tonight.”
“Are you not feeling well? You barely ate your lunch.”
Shouto’s cheeks flushed from the attention you gave him as you leaned over and placed your hand against his forehead. You quickly removed it after you received both, a perfect cool and a perfect warm temperature from each side of his head. Shouto couldn't help that feeling that entered his gut as you worried over him. He felt warm and fuzzy on the inside.
“I’m fine, I just really need to study for Present Mic’s English test.”
You frowned over at Shouto. He flushed and you were positive he hadn't ate a single bite of his lunch. It would be hard to detect a fever due to his quirk, maybe you should make him go to Recover Girl?
“Tell me if you begin to feel any different, okay? I can bring you some soup and company.”
Shouto didn't want to be such a possessive friend, but he couldn't help this feeling he got when Izuku came around. He couldn't help how upset and sad he felt as Izuku and you goofed off. Shouto was never good at expressing his feelings, but the more he thought about them, the more he realized what he felt for you. He wanted to be the one you laughed with. He wanted to be the one you held hands with. He wanted to be the one who helped you study. The one you trained with, shared secrets, and had family dinners with. He wanted to be yours.
Shouto was your friend, just your friend. He couldn't let these feelings screw things up, no matter how much it hurt him. After all, why would you want him when you could have Izuku? He would be perfect for you. He could give you a flawless relationship. You wouldn't have to deal with parental issues or the an emotionally constipated boyfriend. Someone without baggage and problems.
Shouto could suffer through it as your friend, no matter how much it hurt.
Tumblr media
You felt awkward as you sat in the Midoriya household. Maybe it was the fact that Inko had no clue you and Izuku were having friendship issues. Maybe it was the fact you were sat across from Hisashi but you barely knew Izuku’s father due to him traveling for work. Maybe it was the fact they talked and acted like you and Izuku were dating.
To be fair, you and Izuku had been friends for a long time. Inko always imagined you two would date and eventually get married. You were always in her home, holidays, birthdays, school projects. She was a second mother to you. A replacement to your own mother who emotionally and psychically abandoned you but placed pressures on you and your quirk. Your mother financially provided for you, but Inko was the one who was actually there.
The Midoriya household was an escape for you growing up. It was a safe space but now it was foreign. It was too soon to come back here. You still weren't over Izuku lying about his quirk. Your friendship was still fragile, it was still in the mend. The longer you were here, the more you realized how you weren't ready to forgive him.
Everything was different now. Inko wasn't there when you and Izuku stopped being friends. You stopped clinging to the Midoriya household as a stress reliever becuase it was no longer an option. Inko was Izuku’s mother not yours. You clung to your friendship with Shouto instead. He could relate and understand your stresses. He could relate and understand the pressures your mother forced and projected onto you. Things shifted and Shouto became your safe space, Shouto became your escape.
Your hands fidgeted under the table so you grabbed your thigh with your left  hand and picked up your fork with your right hand. You tried to eat your food to calmly get through this meal and evening.
“So, [Y/N]... Is Izuku treating you well?”
You scrapped around the food on your plate as you thought of how to delicately handle this matter. The question came from Hisashi. He wasn't home enough to know that you and Izuku weren't dating, he only knew what Inko thought and told him. Inko thought you and Izuku were going to be cliche childhood friends turned lovers. You couldn't blame Inko for thinking that. She wanted what was best for her son, and in her mind that was you. Growing up you and Izuku were so close and you, yourself, could have seen yourself being with him, but things changed.
You desperately wanted Shouto to come with you so you could avoid the awkward comments you would receive from Izuku’s parents. While you thought maybe a male presence would get them to back off of the fantasy of you being with Izuku, you couldn't lie - you really liked Shouto.
“It’s not like that with me and Izuku, were just friends.”
Once dinner was over you opted against going with Izuku up to his room and decided to stay and help Inko with the dinner dishes. Inko could help herself from prying into your business as you dried the dishes she was scrubbing. She could tell something changed between you and her son. You were sitting far apart and you were both so quite. Normally, you would've sat close together while you both geeked out over some hero.
“Did something happen between you and Izuku?”
While Izuku could lie to you, you couldn't lie to Inko. The woman practically raised you, so you told her the truth. The whole truth. From the argument, meeting Shouto, becoming Shouto’s best friend, the sports festival and slowly refriending Izuku.
“I’m awfully sorry my son is being so stubborn like that. He could just tell you the truth, he is a late bloomer. I think he’s embarrassed.”
“Don’t apologize for him. It just hurts because he was my closest friend, and after years of friendship he won’t admit that he’s a late bloomer? It hurts because he was willing to let me walk away from our friendship instead of fessing’ up.”
Tears were ready to fill your eyes thinking about how betrayed and hurt you were, before a small smile graced your face.
“At least I met Shouto from it.”
While she was disappointed in her son, Inko couldn't help but smile as she saw the sparkle in your eye when you spoke about Shouto.
“This Shouto, the one from the sports festival, do you like him?”
A blush creeped up your neck and spread across your cheeks as you looked away from Inko. You liked him, you liked him so much, but he was your friend.
“Shouto is my friend, my best friend.”
“That’s not what I asked. I asked if you liked him.”
“I- I don’t want to disappoint you. I know you always thought I’d grow up and marry Izuku, but Shouto... He’s nice, and bluntly honest. Sometimes he’s a little oblivious to things, but he’s there for me when I need him.”
“I’m not disappointed with you. ...A little bit with the way Izuku is being, but not with you. [Y/N], I know my son would rather I didn’t say this to you, but I’m going to give you some advice. You don’t have to stay friends with someone because of years of friendship, especially if you’re not in a place to be friends with him. Friends grow apart all the time, and you do not owe Izuku anything.”
Inko knew in the long run, her words would effect your friendship with Izuku, but she couldn't be selfish. She wanted you to marry Izuku and be her daughter, but she couldn't force that on you. You grew up as her unofficial daughter, and that meant she wanted what was best for you, just like any mother would want.
“Thank you for the advice.”
Your felt your phone vibrate and you whipped it out of your pocket to see a new message from Shouto.
Shouto Todoroki: If your not busy still with Izuku, is your offer for soup and company still on the table? [Sent: 8:27 PM]
[Y/N] [L/N]: Of course, Sho! xx [Sent: 8:32 PM]
“Inko, something came up and I have to get back to the dorms.”
“Of course. Have a safe trip back.”
You put your coat on and grabbed your purse once you reached the front door. Before you could turn the nob Izuku stopped you.
“You’re leaving already?”
“Yes, I need to get back to the dorms.”
“You can’t stay? I was hoping we could play a video game, or something... You know, like old times.”
You closed your eyes and took in a deep breath. You knew Izuku thought if you came to his home and remembered all your childhood memories, remembered all the good times then you would forgive him. He wanted you to drop the quirk thing, he wanted to push it all under a rug and be normal again. He couldn't do that, he couldn't pretend your friendship was the same. While you could try to get over it, try to move past it, the fact he wanted to pretend it didn't happen bothered you.
“Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“You know what your doing... You’re acting like you never lied to me, like we never stopped being friends.”
“I- I didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable... I thought this would help ease you back into our friendship.”
This whole evening was uncomfortable.
“Well I am. I am uncomfortable. You were my best friend and you lied, or at least won’t tell me the truth. Why?”
“You know I can’t tell you.”
“I don’t understand why you can’t tell me. I’d understand if you’re a late bloomer, I’d understand if it’s the fact that your quirk brakes your bones. I just want your honestly. What do you value more, your secret or my friendship?”
You felt angry as Izuku remained silent. He wanted to tell you but he couldn't. He told Katsuki. While he didn't really believe him, All Might made it clear he couldn't tell anyone.
“I don’t want you approaching me or talking to me. I’ll be civil in school because Shouto is my friend too, but I’m not your friend outside of school.”
“[Y/N]... Don’t go. I just can’t tell you the truth, my mom doesn't even know...”
With another buzz in your pocket from Shouto and Inko’s words of advice stuck in your head you say your last piece to Izuku.
“The thing is, once you lie once I can’t tell if your lying again. My trust in you is gone, and I don’t think it can be repaired. I put my trust in you, I’ve scarred myself for you, but you hurt me. Friends drift apart all the time, and that’s okay, we’ve drifted apart, that’s okay. Right now Shouto needs me and I don’t intend to drift apart from him.”
Izuku wanted to tell you, but he couldn't. He had to keep his mentors secret. All Might warned him about the dangers that lurked with this secret. He had to keep it because just the knowledge of it could put you in danger. Izuku stayed silent as he watched you walk out the door. He was silent as he let you walk away from him for the second time, the emotional rift between you wide, pushing you away from him and closer to Shouto. He had to keep this secret to keep you safe, even if it hurt so much.
Tumblr media
You left quick hard knocks on Shouto’s dorm room door as you balanced two servings of Shouto’s favorite soba and two hot cups of tea from the place you ordered food from a lot. Mr. Aizawa had given you a hard glare as you went up to the boys dorms but after he seen you had fresh soup he let you go with the simple warning that you better be out of there in an hour or you'd receive a detention.
It didn't take long for Shouto to open the door. He immediately took the food from your hands and placed it on the counter. He turned back to you with small smile on his face.
“Hey, I brought you soup.”
“Thank you.”
Shouto smiled as he watched you open the takeout package and pour his soup in a bowl. You carried his soup over to him and felt the back of his head with the back of your empty hand.
“You should be in bed resting.”
You grabbed Shouto’s hand and pulled him over to his bed. You placed the soup on the edge of the nightstand by his bed as you instructed him to lie down. You wrapped his blankets around his body and tucked in the end under his feet.
Shouto smiled up at you as you handed him his soba. You looked so sweet and worried over him. Maybe it was the fact he hadn't had someone worry and care over him when he was sick in a long time. Sure he had his father, but he didn’t take care of him. He just fed him medicine and left it at that. It filled him with such intense longing feelings as he watched you maneuver around him, tucking him in, bringing him water, and even getting him soup.
He didn't even have the heart to tell you he wasn't actually sick. He used that as an excuse to get you over, he planned to tell you... But then you started worrying over him.
“Thank you [Y/N], this means a lot to me... I’m sorry if I ruined your evening with Izuku.”
“Truthfully, I’d rather be here taking care of you than with Izuku. We got in another fight.”
Shouto knew he shouldn't feel so happy about it. He should feel sad and push you to talk it out with Izuku, but he didn't. He didn’t give you advice or tell you that you'd both makeup. Instead he felt hopeful. He could be just as good as Izuku, he could make you happy. Instead, he grabbed your hand and laced your fingers together.
“You’re a great person, Izuku’s being an idiot by just letting your friendship slide away.”
“Thank you, Sho... Ugh, I should go, Aizawa is gonna bust in any minute and kill me.”
You go to pull your hand out of Shouto’s but he keeps a firm grip.
“Stay...”
You know you should leave. You should go to your dorm or else Aizawa will give you detention. You should leave but Shouto’s smile was so inviting, and who wouldn't take the chance to relish in the presence of their crush.
“Aizawa will literally kill me.”
“I’ll take the blame... I just don’t want you to go right now. I want... I want to be with you right now.”
You didn’t go back to your room that night. You stayed the night in Shouto’s dorm. You slept beside him, and when morning came you woke up with your face pressed against his chest. You hadn’t known he was staring down at you with love in his eyes. You hadn’t know he was watching you with a wanting, domestic feeling in his chest.
Tumblr media
After that night everything changed. The dynamic in your friendship with Shouto shifted, and Izuku became a thing of the past to the both of you. You were civil to Izuku for the sake of your mutual friends but that was it. You didn't talk to him willingly inside of school, or outside of school.
Shouto seemed to take your side in the whole ordeal. He hadn't pushed you to talk it out with the boy or even asked you to be civil. In fact, Shouto seemed to distance himself from Izuku. He didn't eat lunch with Izuku, but preferred to eat a meal in solitude with you. He didn't study with Izuku, he preferred to study with you in the back of the library or in your dorm room.
Shouto knew it he should've done the heroic thing and push you to be friends with Izuku, but he couldn't. After that night, Shouto’s feelings for you became so clear. He wanted to hold you, to be the one who protected you, the one comforted you and prevented your tears. He wanted to be your boyfriend, and more. He wanted to be to you, what his father should've been for Rei. He wanted to be the one to make you feel loved.
It wasn't an insecurity, or him being possessive. While he didn't like the idea of you having someone who shared so much history with you in your life, he was really reluctant because he saw the way Izuku looked at you, but then he saw how he treated your friendship.
Izuku looked at you how Shouto looked at you, but Izuku was willing to throw away your friendship. Shouto could live with someone better sweeping you off your feet. Shouto could live with you falling in love with a great man who treated you good, good and better than he could. He could live knowing someone better than him had you, but Izuku was not a better man.
You deserved someone willing to give you the moon. Someone, kind, loving, and honest. Maybe that’s what pushed Shouto to tell you the truth about that night. Izuku lied to you, or at least with held information and that caused your friendship to drift, but Shouto lied to you as well. He wanted to be honest with you, he wanted to be different than Izuku.
“I have a confession to tell you.”
The words kind of just tumbled out on their own. You lifted your head up off of his chest and with furrowed eyebrows you looked in his eyes. You had previously been peacefully cuddling together on the grass under a shady tree to escape the heat. Shouto’s tone sounded so serious that you had to pull away from his cool chest to look in his eyes and give him your full attention.
“Are you the one who ate my muffin?”
“That was Bakugo.”
“Okay, then what’s up? You sound very serious.”
Shouto’s stomach dropped. He felt nervous to tell you. You were already upset about the muffin, and he knew how you felt about lies. Izuku lied, and you stopped being friends. What if you stopped being his friend? No. Shouto had to tell you. He had to tell you out to respect. He had to tell you because this is the type of thing his father would do, and he didn't want to be like that. He had to tell you because this is how Izuku hurt you, and he didn't want to do that.
“Do you remember that night a couple of weeks ago, when you came over and took care of me?”
“Yeah, you were sick so I came over, and stayed the night.”
“I wasn't really sick.”
You let out a sigh before lacing your fingers with Shouto’s. You were hurt that he’d lie like that, but the fact that he was sitting here, spilling out the whole truth with comforting. You smiled at him to which he responded one that could only be described as a nervous, unsure one.
“Why did you lie?”
“I... I was jealous. The idea of you spending the evening with Izuku upsets me. [Y/N], I really like you. I like how you worry and care about me, and I like all the little things about you, that stupid scowl and pout you do when your upset, and the way you stick your tongue out after an argument when no ones looking. [Y/N], I like you and I know I’m probably ruining things, but I needed to be honest with you.”
“Sho, you’re not ruining things.”
You bit your lip as you scooted closer to Shouto. You unlaced your hands but just so you could then slither them around his body. You rested your chin in the crook of his neck and placed your lips by his ear as he tightly clung onto you.
“I’m not mad you lied, because you were honest with me... You’re always honest that’s why I like you.”
“You like me?”
”So much, Sho, so much. I like how you’re always honest with me, I like how you're so protective, I like the little sweet things you for me, like how you let me take advantage of your quirks, and how you scare off Mineta when he’s being a pervert.”
As Shouto planted a kiss to the top of your head you were oblivious to your audience. The truth is, Izuku was coming over to tell you the truth. He was going to tell you about he how he got his quirk. He couldn't stand the fact that he wasn't friends with you. He couldn't stand how much it hurt not having you around.
As he watched Shouto hold you, tears welled up in his eyes. You were so perfect together. You brought out the best in Shouto, you made Shouto feel stable enough to express his emotions, you made Shouto feel like he was his own person, like he wasn’t just Endeavor’s son. Izuku could see the way Shouto stared down at you, with love and adoration pooling in Shouto’s eyes, and Izuku could see the way you looked back at Shouto. He made you safe, happy, secure.
You were perfect together, and all Izuku did was hurt you. It hadn't taken long for Izuku to back track his steps. He turned around and retreated from his initial plans to tell you everything. You weren't his anymore. you weren't Izuku’s. You belonged to someone who would give you the world and would. You belonged to someone better. You belonged to Shouto now.

Hewwo! How r u doing??🧐 I would like to ask for a little something where the reader is easily distracted and goes off the path (chasing a butterfly, seeing a dog, etc...) and the boy doesn’t notice until later. 🥰🥺 The bois: Todoroki, Kirishima, and Shinso (BNHA/MHA) ✨✨
Aww I love this! This is so cute! I will try my best for you 🥺
Todoroki
It’s Friday evening and you are on your way home from UA because you wanted to go home for the weekend and Todoroki decides to go with you being the protective boyfriend he is.
It’s spring and the cherry blossoms have just bloomed. The path you’re walking is lined with cherry blossom trees. You stop to take in the soft pink petals, but Shouto doesn’t notice until he reaches the end of the path and sees that you’re not next to him.
He freaks out thinking someone might’ve taken you when he wasn’t watching or maybe you just went off to a convenience store or something. He decided to walk back up the path, asking any and everyone if they had seen you, showing them pictures of you, saying how tall you are, etc.
He finally makes it to where you were, hair sticking to his forehead since he basically ran the whole time.
You were standing under the trees, slowly spinning as the petals fell into your hands. You felt like you were in your own little world, like you were a fairy and you could stay in this moment forever.
You hadn’t noticed him standing there yet, but he was watching as you twirled beneath the flower petals, falling like snow around you. He took out his phone and started recording you and snapped a few pictures. You looked so beautiful to him in this moment and he wanted to capture if forever. The way the sun shone on your skin and your warm smile melted him and he realized just how much he loves you in that moment.
When you finally notice him standing there, you feel your cheeks heat up and you know instantly that you’re blushing.
He makes his way over to you and grabs your hand in his. He looks at them and smiles for a moment. He pulls you close to his chest and kisses you on your forehead.
“I love you...y/n”
You look up at him surprised because his words caught you off guard, but hearing them made you happy, so the as quick as the shock hit is as quick as it left and you just smiled from ear to ear.
You hug him and nuzzle your face into his chest.
“I love you too, Shouto”
You both walk up the path, this time he’s hold your hand and make your way to your house where dinner is already waiting.

Kirishima
It’s summer vacation and your family has decided to go to the beach house that has been in your family for decades. They tell you to invite Kirishima along and whoever else you wanted to come along since there was enough room. It was a private beach, so you basically had it to yourselves whenever your family did go there for whatever reason, whether it be a small gathering or just wanting to get away from the city for a little bit.
When you reach, everyone unpacks and you decide to head down to the beach with Mina, Yaoyorozu and Uraraka. Denki, Kirishima, Bakugou, Sero and Deku all meet you on the beach a little afterwards. You all swim for a while and play games, until your dad decides to barbecue. Once everything is taken off the grill, you all eat together. Your mom bought fireworks and sparklers for you all to end the night with and celebrate your first day on the beach.
After all the festivities are over, you all head inside to rest for the night, but you and your friends decided to have a mini sleep over in the living room and watch movies. You cuddled with Kirishima on the couch while the rest of your friends took the floor. You all end up falling asleep in the middle of the second movie that was put on. You wake up around 3:30 to the tv still being on. You get up to turn it off then realize you can’t fall back asleep. You decide to go out and take a walk along the beach to calm yourself to the sound of the waves. You notice that the waves are glowing due to the bioluminescent krill in the water and you become so entranced that you take a seat on the rocks to watch the beautiful sight before you.
Kiri wakes up an hour later and pops up when he realizes you’re not next to him anymore. He carefully gets up, so that he doesn’t hurt any of the sleeping people on the floor and makes his was upstairs to see if you decided to go up to your room. The thought made him sad, but he could understand if your bed was more comfortable than the couch. He opened the door quietly, as to not wake your parents and saw that your bed was untouched. He decided to make his way to the balcony on the second floor to think about where you could’ve gone. Something told him to use the telescope that was on the balcony and he searched for you along the beach. He finally saw that you were on the far end by the rocks, sitting on them. He made his way back down the stairs, again quietly, and made his way along the beach to get to you. He took a blanket with him, just in case you would be cold.
“Hey pebble,” he says with a soft smile, startling you a bit
“Hey,” you say with a soft smile back
“I’m sorry I scared you,” he says with laughter in his voice,“but you can just consider it a little bit of pay back since I woke up and you weren’t there.” He finished, taking a seat next to you.
“Sorry about that,” you say blushing
“Why are you sitting here anyways?” He asked curious
“Well, I can show you better than I can tell you,” you say picking up a flat rock, then skimming it across the water to reveal the plankton
“Woah, that’s so cool, pebble. I see why you stayed here so long,” he says smiling his big smile
“How long have I been out here,” you ask, kinda freaking out
“Little over an hour,” he says smiling
“We should probably head back before my parents wake up,” you say about to get up
“Wait,” he says stopping you,“five more minutes, then we can go back.”
You nod and he takes a seat next you and wrapping the blanket around both of your shoulders.
After the five extra minutes, you both head back to the beach house, cuddle on the couch and go back to sleep.

Shinso
Shinso and you are out for a picnic date that you had planned for a while. The weather is warm and sunny, not a cloud in the sky. You make it to forest/site you wanted to have the picnic and it’s even more perfect than you imagined. There’s the perfect canopy to sunlight ratio and you’re not too far from the river, causing there to be a comfortable coolness in the air. You set down the blanket and Shinso put some rocks on the corners, so that it wouldn’t lift up in the wind blew. You both start unpacking the basket and you realize you forgot the drinks in the car. You offer to run and go get it, but he protests.
“I’ll get it, kitten. You stay here, I’ll be right back,” he says leaving you there by yourself.
A couple of minutes pass and you start to hear rustling in the bushes. You were definitely a little frightened, but waited to see if anything would come out before you just to any conclusions or scared yourself by jumping to said conclusions.
Just then a bunny comes out and it’s limping. You slowly crawl over to it, as to not scare it.
“It’s okay, I’m not gonna hurt you cutie. I just wanna help.”
You continue to slowly crawl toward it, extending your hand so that it can get used to your scent. Once it finally puts its guard down, your able to pick it up. You figured it’s borough couldn’t be too far from where you were since it came this way. You decide to walk off, eyeing the ground for any holes.
When Shinso finally returns to your picnic area, he sees that you’re not there. He decides to call for you, but receives nothing. He decides to take the path you took, not knowing that it’s the way you went, but something inside him told him to go that way.
After a few minutes of walking, he decides to try calling for you again. The first time he receives nothing, causing worry to start building. He walks up some more and tries again.
“Y/N!!”
“Over here!”
He walkruns over to the direction he heard your voice come from.
“Shh,” you say, so that he wouldn’t startle the rabbit in your arms. He makes his way over to you slower. You tell him what happened and he helps you find the bunny’s home.
You finally find the borough at the bottom of a tree. You decide it might be best to back away and let the bunny hop in on its own. You crouch down and Shinso follows. You set the bunny on the ground and it’s hesitant to head home.
“Go ahead, it’s okay,” you say encouraging it
The bunny takes a couple hops before fully going for it and going home. You decide to capture this moment by snapping a couple of pictures. While you’re busy doing that, Shinso just admires you and smiles.
“Ready,” you say smiling and catching him off guard
“Y-yeah, lets go,” he says blushing
You both make it back to your picnic and enjoy the food and snacks that were packed.
All of a sudden it starts to rain. You both hurriedly pack everything and try to find shelter somewhere.
You come across a shed and decide to knock in the door. An older woman opens the door.
“Hello ma’am, is it okay if we stay here. It’s just started raining out of nowhere and we don’t have an umbrella,” you say nicely and slightly apologetic
“Of course dears. Come in.”
You and Shinso do as she says and she lights a fire for you both to sit by. She also supplies you with a blanket and leaves to make tea for you both. Shinso wraps the blanket around both of you and he can see that you are shivering a little, so he moves closer to you, causing you to blush.
“Kitty,” he says, grabbing your attention
“Yes”
“I’m sorry the picnic got ruined,” he says apologetic
“It didn’t get ruined,” you say with laughter in your voice,“this was the best day ever.”
“R-really,” he asks expectantly
“Yes, we helped a bunny find its way home and we did still get to enjoy the picnic, it’s just got cut short and that’s okay, cause I got to spend the whole day with you.”
“This is why I love you, kitty. Your so good and optimistic. You see the great in every situation. I wish I could do that more. You’re so perfect and I-I don’t want to lose you.”
“You’re not gonna lose me and you’re perfect too. Maybe not perfect to you, but perfect to me and that’s the most important thing,” you say smiling
He pulls you in and kisses you softly and full of love.
The rain finally clears and you thank the woman for her hospitality. Shinso drives you to your house and before you exit he grabs your hand and kisses it. Then he pulls you in and kisses your lips. He watches you enter your house and then drives off.

I hope you enjoyed. Thank you again for submitting and keeping my asks active. You always give me something new and I really appreciate you letting my imagination run wild (more than it already does). 💖🥺

Hewwo!💕 jk jk. May I request a scnario (or headcanon what is easier for you) of shoto x izuku's older sister!reader. (Since tgis is an xreader blog maybe she is adopted? Ur choice) Maybe she meet him after the sports festival, and the only person that knew about her besides izuku was bakugo, and she is just so sweet and full of the fluffs that make his heart go boom. Sorry if I'm too specific 😅 love you💕
Um, hi! First of all, I am SO very sorry for the amount of time it took me to write this. Like seriously, I try to get things done in order, but for some reason requests have been a bitch to write. Second, I also love you! <3 And third, I love this idea! I hope you don’t mind, but I wrote it so that Izuku’s big sis was biologically related. Also, it’s mostly from Shouto’s point of view. I hope this is okay!
N/N = Nickname
It’s yours! Your quirk, not his!
Midoriya’s words repeated themselves over and over again in Shouto’s head as he trekked down the hall, trying to find the other boy before he left the stadium for the night. Crowds were already filtering into the upper halls to exit after the winners had been officially announced, and he didn’t feel like dealing with the hassle of being asked questions and giving statements about his second place win. Honestly, he could care less about that right now; he had a lot to think about, and most of it revolved around his scum bag father and his new...acquaintance? Rival? Friend? What was Midoriya to him, anyway? They’d almost been complete strangers before the sports festival, but now he felt a sort of connection to the other boy he couldn’t quite put his finger on. It was all so...confusing.
“Excuse me-!” Someone bumped into his left shoulder as they whirled past him, clearly in a hurry to get to their destination. “I’m sorry, oh-! Um...” A girl that Shouto didn’t recognize slowed only a little as she turned to apologize, a panicked expression on her face as she walked backwards without watching where she was going. “I’m so sorry!” she exclaimed one last time before turning around and bolting off, almost knocking over a startled Tokoyami in the process.
Shouto stared after her dumbfounded, not sure what to make of the situation. It took him a moment to gather his thoughts again after the distraction, but he collected himself and turned to Tokoyami as the other male strode past him.
“Do you know where Midoriya ran off to? I need to speak with him.”
“Midoriya, hm?” Fumikage paused as he thought about it for a moment. “I believe he was headed in the same direction as that girl, actually.”
Without so much as a thank you, Shouto started down the hallway again, faster this time now that he knew where he was going. It didn’t take him long at all to catch up to the girl he saw earlier, and he could hear her stumbling her way to her own destination just around the corner, muttering apologies and greetings as she tried to stay out of the way of others. But just as he turned, she seemingly vanished, and he frantically looked around before spotting a rapidly closing door a few feet away.
There.
As he inched closer, he heard voices coming from inside; one of which belonged to Midoriya, he was sure, and the other... He tore open the door at the last minute before it could slam shut, barging in on the middle of a conversation between Midoriya and the mystery girl.
“-reckless, baka! Honestly, Izu...”
“I’m fine, N/N! Recovery Girl fixed me already, and they said I did really well in sur...gery, so-” Midoriya’s voice wavered on the last half of his sentence; clearly he was afraid of the reaction he would get by telling this girl about his injuries. “Anyways, I can hold my own! You don’t always have to worry about me, you know. I can take care of myself now...”
“Surgery!? Oh, Izuku... I know you can, but as your sister, it’s kind of my job to worry about you, whether it makes you embarrassed or not!”
Sister...?
Said sister smacked the top of her brother’s head lightly, earning a light blush and a pitiful “Ow, Y/N!” from her younger sibling. “Careful! My head already has enough bumps and bruises from the festival...”
“Eh, what’s one more from a good scolding? You’ll live, kiddo.” Todoroki would hardly call that a scolding. Even with her playful words, she gently smoothed a hand over his hair, ruffling it in a tender way while gazing at him with concern. “I am proud of you. You’ve come a long way, otoutosan. Just please try to take better care of yourself. I think you nearly killed mom.”
Todoroki took a moment to really look at the two of them. Since when did Midoriya have a sister? It wasn’t like the two of them were close, so he wouldn’t have known anyway, but it came as sort of a shock that not only did Midoriya have a sibling, but they were older than him as well. His prior objective momentarily forgotten, he watched as they interacted with each other, noting how similar their features seemed yet so different at the same time. The two of you shared the same fluffy hair (though Todoroki thought the colors differed), the same nose shape, and of course what he considered to be the trademark of the Midoriya clan: those kind, round, determined eyes that he just couldn’t help but stare into-
“T-Todoroki-kun?” Midoriya broke him out of his thoughts, the greenette staring at him with a puzzled expression from across the room. “What are you doing here? Aren’t you heading home?”
Shouto was no longer sure that he wanted to talk to the other boy. He felt like he had intruded on a private conversation, like he wasn’t wanted here. And if he was being honest, it wasn’t fair of him to dump all of his problems on Midoriya. And now that he was really putting effort and thought into it, he wasn’t sure he was ready to even talk about his struggles at all. Besides...he knew deep down he needed to confront the issue at hand directly, and not just through venting to someone else. But before he could think of an excuse to leave, Midoriya’s sister cut in, clearly reading the tension between the two boys and wanting to ease some of it.
“Hey, I know you. You’re that Todoroki kid, right? I was watching your match with Izuku from the stands; you were amazing out there! You both were. You sure gave Izu a run for his money, huh? That’s saying something, considering my little brother is practically a stubborn bull when he sets his mind to anything. He doesn’t give up until he’s won, so I would say you’ve got quite the talent and willpower!” you said cheerily with a grin. “If you heard anyone screaming during your match, it was probably me. I like to show my support for my fam!” As if to emphasize your point, you slung an arm around your little brother’s shoulders.
Todoroki briefly recalled hearing someone shout Izuku’s name in the distance during their match, but he had been so focused on beating his opponent and being angry at his father that he hadn’t really noticed it at the time. “Mm. So that was you,” he stated plainly.
“Yep! Sure was! Anyways...” You suddenly made direct eye contact with Todoroki, and he swore you were looking right through him as you spoke, “It was nice to meet one of Izu’s friends, finally. I was starting to worry that maybe you guys didn’t exist.” You laughed as Izuku playfully pushed you away in fake annoyance at the halfhearted insult. “Oh, I’m Y/N, by the way! I’m a third year at UA, so you’ll probably see me around this year. I’d love to get to know you more! I think your quirk is super cool, I’ve never seen anything like it!” you gushed.
A friend...so that’s what I am.
Shouto didn’t miss the light pink color dusting your cheeks. Just a moment ago, when the two of you had locked gazes...he had felt something electric. Did you feel it too? His heart beat a little faster at your proposition, his imagination running wild with silly little scenarios; sitting with you at lunch, training with you to improve his fighting style, asking you out on a date, buying you flowers. He was no longer thinking about his struggles or what he was going to face tomorrow; those things didn’t matter anymore. For now, when you met his eyes, it felt like it was only the two of you and Midoriya and nothing and no one else. Even if he had just met you, he was already head over heals for your bubbly spirits, the way you loved your sibling, and the laughs and smiles you seemed to give away so easily. He wasn’t sure how to describe the feeling he got when he looked at you. You had this air about you; you made the people you were around feel cared for, important, and happy. You were just like your brother in that sense, he supposed.
“Thanks,” he breathed, though he wasn’t sure if you could even hear his response. Regardless, you turned back to Izuku and continued on.
“Hey, Izu, we should get going. I’m sure mom is anxious to have you home.”
“Mhm.” Izuku nodded in agreement and went to collect a his things.
“Well, see you around!” You bid Todoroki goodbye and walked past him confidently, a warm smile on your face as you waved.
“Y-Yeah...” Shouto was at a loss for words as he watched you go.
“I’ll be outside, Izu,” you called over your shoulder, and then you were gone, only rays of sunshine left in your wake.
“Todoroki.”
“Hm?”
“You’re staring...” Midoriya awkwardly told him.
Shouto didn’t seem phased by his words at all, instead choosing to turn to the green haired male beside him now.
“We’re friends...right?” he asked, an unfamiliar nervousness saturating his voice.
“If you want to be, then sure. I’d like that.” Midoriya gave him an inviting smile, finally following you out the door and leaving Todoroki to his thoughts.
Yeah, he had a lot to deal with now, but at least he wasn’t alone anymore. He could do this. He would do this. For you, and Izuku, and for himself. He was going to confront life head on and deal with whatever came his way no matter what.
After all...it was his life. His life, and no one else’s.
I hope this was okay! I realize not much happened between Todoroki and the reader, sorry...this is just where my mind took me. ;w; But since not much happened, I’m considering keeping this on the backburner of my mind for a possible part 2 drabble thing? We shall see.

a/n: God this photo fucked me up good when I first saw it.
I saw this picture on my search for images for my last Todo post aaaaand yeah, pretty self explanatory. I got to thinking, what if this poor baby finally snapped one day and was like "FUCK ENDEAVOR AND HIS ENTIRE PROGRAM, IM NOBODY'S MASTERPIECE" and he went the complete opposite direction. So enjoy a little bit of OOC Todoroki and a bit of a longer post than my usual stuff!
I’m really really sorry about not updating in the past few days.  I was really swamped by college work and studying, and I was mentally exhausted and physically tired every day.  Today wasn’t my day and I almost had a breakdown because a lot of things piled up in me, but I had to pull myself together somehow.  Hopefully, after this week, I’ll go back to a somewhat regular posting schedule.  Thanks for being patient with me guys, I really appreciate it :)
When my mom told me Shouto will be going to the same high school as me, I was expecting the same buttoned-up, shy, good boy from elementary school.  Oh boy, was I wrong.
The boy I bump into in the hallway definitely looks like Shouto, but the only thing that's the same is his mismatched hair and eyes.  Everything else about him was much different.  His entire energy was different, even from the fraction of a second I focused on his face.
"Shouto?" I call when he's about to brush past me.
I don't think he's expecting someone to know him on the first day, pausing and looking down curiously.
The most shocking feature of all is the scar on his left side, a red blotch that covers the left side of his face, starkly contrasting his brilliant turquoise eye; a single ray of light in a scarlet sky.
As I'm gaping at the puckered skin, his eyebrows furrowing at my face as recognition slowly dawns on him.  "(Y/n)?"
I'm relieved that he at least remembers me.  "Yeah, hey."  I don't really know what to do now.  My first instinct is to hug him, but something tells me he isn't a fan of that sort of thing anymore.  There's a coldness between us that's thick as a knife.  "How have you been?"
"Fine," he answers curtly.  His hands are stuffed into his pockets, leaning back in a way that seems uncharacteristic of him and more like a ruffian.
Does his not want to talk to me?  I don't blame him, I haven't been in his life for a good eight years.  "How are your parents?"
His jaw clenches.  "Fine."
Oh.  I struck a nerve.  "Do you wanna catch up at lunch?  What class are you in?"
"1-A."  Overjoyed that we share the same class, I'm about to open my mouth, but he interjects, "But I don't think we should talk."  That was the last thing he said before he strolls past me.
I'm stunned, following his receding back through the sea of students.  I guess I shouldn't have brought up his parents when I know it's a sensitive topic, but I didn't know what else to say.  And it's probably awkward to see someone you used to be close to talk to you again, but the least he could've been is polite.  That's saying something, because Shouto was always the polite child.
Something is terribly wrong here.
Shouto has definitely changed since we were younger.  He's become a delinquent.
He never even shows up to class.  After our little encounter, he was slumped in his seat until the teacher finished role call, then he just got up and walked out in the middle of class and never came back.  In all the days after that, his seat remained empty even at the beginning of the day.
At first, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.  What if he happened to get sick and had to stay home?  Then I saw his signature mismatched tuft of hair walking back home in the school yard, and I knew he was skipping.
After a whole two weeks passed of him skipping, I had enough.  The Shouto I know would never cut class even if his life depended on it.  During lunch, I went looking for him in the group of other delinquent kids in the back of the school.
"Todoroki?" the ash-blond ringleader ruffles his hair and scoffs, "Idiot must be off somewhere by himself like the damn loner he is.  He picked a fight with me and I almost beat his ass into oblivion!"
I ball my fists up, more angry at Shouto than the group of boys eyeing me like a pack of wolves.  "You guys are useless," I mumble, about to turn away from them.
"Aww, is he your boyfriend, sweetie?" the honey blond with a black streak in his hair smoothly wraps an arm around me.  "He probably doesn't care about you, you deserve someone else who'll give you his time."
"Fuck off, who said you can touch me?"  I shove his arm away and step back.
"Calm down there," the red head with sharp teeth taunts with a smirk, "You're getting a bit defensive.  You sure you don't need help looking for your little prince?"
"I'm fine on my own, thanks," I huff, turning around to go look for Shouto elsewhere.
"Maybe I'll come with you," the overly-friendly boy blocks my way again.  "If he's not your boyfriend, maybe we can get together sometime?"
"Not interested.  Out of my way, Pikachu reject."  I try to side-step him, but the leader grabs the back of my collar and whips me around so I'm face to face with his bared teeth.
"You're a bit rude, aren't you?  Should I pull your head out your ass for you?"  His crimson eyes glare his murderous intent into me.
I hold my ground, the anger against my irresponsible friend more powerful than any fear of this hothead possibly hurting me.  "Don't act so tough if your talk is cheap."
He cracks his knuckles without breaking eye contact with me.  "I'll show you cheap talk.  Try waking up next week after I'm done with you!" he snarls.
I mirror his expression.  I don't mind throwing hands at this guy if I have to, blood rushing through me to prepare for the fist fight.  "I dare you-!"
"Enough, (Y/n)."
I can feel his presence right behind me even though he doesn't physically touch me.
Scarlet eyes shift behind me.  "Took you long enough, hot shot.  Your friend has just as much spunk as you, I'll kick both your asses!"
"I'd like to see you try, Bakugou," Shouto responds coldly.  "We both know who'd win."  Keeping his gaze locked on the aggressive male, he harshly grabs my arm and hauls me away.  "Let's go."
I'm fuming with anger when we're back inside the building.  I turn on him when he finally releases me, but he's already starting down the hall.  "Don't walk away from me!  We need to talk!"  I stomp over, following him to an abandoned classroom.  "What the hell is wrong with you?!  First of all, you were a real ass when I talked to you last week.  Second of all, you're not even coming to class like you should.  And now you're already picking fights with that idiot out there?  What's gotten into you Shouto?!"
"You were about to get into a fight as well.  You should thank me," he comments coldly, slipping into a desk with books open on top.
"I could've handled it just fine without you!  The only reason I was even there talking to them was because I was looking for you!"  I hover over him, glaring down so he can tell how angry I am.  "You'e skipped class all week, this isn't like you at all!  How are you supposed to catch-?"
One glance down the the open books shows all the material we've been going over in class.  He's already caught up to today's lesson, writing notes in his book and ignoring my presence.  The entire setup makes me angrier.  "I don't understand you, Shouto.  What kind of act are you trying to pull?  You're not a delinquent, why are you trying to act like one for everyone else?   Or is this all because you're just trying to ignore me?"
His pencil stops moving and it slams down onto the desk.  "A lot happened since you left, (Y/n)," the boy responds.  His quivering voice indicates restriction of intense emotion.
The hurt is apparent across his entire face, calming me down.  My gaze lingers on the left side of his features, over the eye that somehow looks perpetually sad.  "How did you get that scar, Shouto?"
The boy's eyebrows furrow.  "My father never let up on me after you left, and he got worse.  My mother couldn't handle fighting him on her own anymore.  One day, she snapped, told me how unsightly my left side was, and pouring boiling water over my face."  His large hand gingerly covers his reddened skin.  "And my bastard father put her in a mental institution after that.  He did this."
My heart aches for my childhood friend, the boy I took care of and listened to all his problems.  I can't imagine how much pain Rei was going through.  For her to have lost it, she must've held such a heavy burden.  When I had to move away, I felt so guilty about leaving him with all his troubles.  He had no one else to reach out to and it was snatched from him.  There wasn't a day I stopped thinking and worrying over him.  I reach to take his hand and offer comfort.  "Shou-"
Shouto bolts up from his seat, his taller figure hunching over mine, features screwed up in distaste.  "You weren't there when I needed you most."
I'm taken back, hurt more than anything.  "It's not my fault, we were so much younger, I didn't have a choice but to go with my parents."
A dark chuckle erupts from his lips, dismissing my excuses.  "It's fine.  It happened, I've learned to deal with it."
I'm about to blow my top with this kid.  "Yeah, you've dealt really well, haven't you?" I roll my eyes.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
My mouth gapes, letting out a sputtered scoff.  "You're kidding.  Just look at you!  You're pretending to be someone you're not!  You and I both know you were never the bad boy type when we were kids.  You're the slightly awkward, naturally smart, driven, hardworking-"
"I was only those things because my father forced them on me," he passes by me, crossing his arms.  "I don't want to be anything that bastard wants anymore.  And if you can't see that, then we were never friends in the first place."
That's a stab in the chest.  How can he say that we were never friends when we used to do everything together?  A surge of fury rushing through me, I grab his arm to keep him from moving any farther.  "You love watching superhero cartoons, your favorite was All Might.  Sometimes, you're so damn lazy that instead of doing homework when you came home, you would sneak in a nap before your dad came home to see you slacking off.  Your favorite food in the entire world is cold soba.  You don't like extremely sweet desserts.  You've always been insecure about how strange your mismatched hair and eyes look, but I always had to assure you that you're still the most handsome guy in our class."
Shouto halfway turns around to look at me.
"If we weren't friends, why do I know so much about you?"  I take another bold step towards him, softening at the underlying pain etched into his features.  "I know you always hated the way your dad expects so much from you.  The only thing you ever wanted in your childhood was to be normal.  The pressure finally crumbled down on you and your mom, and I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you through it.  But you shouldn't abandon everything that you are.  You took after your mom more than your dad; you're sometimes a sassy son of a bitch, but you're kind and have a deep respect for people you admire.  You have a natural sense of humor that you don't even know you have.  You care about the people you're close to, you only struggle with communicating how you feel sometimes."
His lips part slightly, processing everything I just showered onto him.  Guilt eventually creeps up on him, choosing to rub the back of his neck.  "You...always did know just what to say."
I smirk and engulf him into my long-awaited hug.  "Who else would put you back in your place?"
His arms hesitantly wrap around my body, the act of sharing body warmth strange yet familiar to him.  It's a small victory, but I'm relieved that we're back on speaking terms.  I'm ready to resume protecting him as I should.
Shouto shifts in our embrace.  "You said...I struggle with telling people how I feel...?" he mumbles sheepishly near my ear.
My boy perks with confusion.  "Yeah, even when we first-"
"Would it suffice if..."
Before I can turn to search his face for what he could be implying, his grip around me loosens as he pulls back to look at me, one of his warm hands resting against my cheek.  His face looms right in front of me, my breath catching in surprise, before he presses his lips to mine softly.  The weightlessness in my stomach is unmistakable.
As quick and unexpected as it came, it also left, Shouto's half lidded gaze resting on me from a small distance away.  All I can do is stare off dazed, still trying to process what just happened.
He leans back against the nearest desk in the front row.  "I guess I should've asked first."  I can see his cheeks and his ears turn almost as flushed as the color of his hair despite his hand covering half his face to hide it.  "But it was the only way I can think to get my point across without stumbling over words."
My heart still flutters trying to recover back to normal, my knees shaking as I lean against the teacher's desk for stability.  I resist the urge to touch my lips like a shocked schoolgirl, but I'm still trying to process the whole thing.  "You know," I cough, "We did already kiss when we were like...five, so this wasn't really our first.  But I don't usually count that-"
The intense color fades from his face almost at once, a darkness creeping into his gaze.  "Then," he pins me back into the desk, hands on both sides of the wood to trap me, "I shouldn't have any qualms about doing it again."
Contrasting from his strong setup, his next kiss is still shy and hesitant.  After exchanging a couple more tentative lip-caresses that still make my head spin, he's gotten his feet wet enough to go harder, establishing a rhythm between us.  As his kisses intensify, his hands reach up to cup both sides of my nape, fingers tangling in my hair desperately and tilting my head up for a better angle.  My own hands grasp the collar of his uniform, pulling him closer into the heat of the moment.
His body pushes me practically into sitting on top of the desk, moving one of his knees between my legs as he lets ones of his hands roam down to grip my waist.  The sudden tug elicits a minute gasp, allowing Shouto to nip at my bottom lip before tugging my head back to trail soft kisses down my jaw.  My fingers thread through his soft locks, letting him massage my neck with his mouth.
"W-Where did you learn all this?" I breathe out unsteadily, my breath refusing to return.
He straightens up and captures my lips in another slow kiss.  "You'll never know."  Another one.  "I've admittedly imagined this for a while."  The next kiss is much deeper, a hum vibrating from his chest as his fingers dig into my side again.  "You're special, so dear."  His mumbles between kisses become more incoherent as his kisses become messy.
"Shouto."  I finally manage to push him away for me to breathe and calm my dizzy head.  Both of us are panting.  His half-lidded eyes and flushed face tempt me, but the fear of someone walking by suddenly alerts in my mind.  "Someone might see us.  Besides, isn't there something you need to say?"
His brow lifts.  "I'm...sorry for being rude to you last week."
"That was needed, too," I chuckle, "But there's something else."
Confusion crosses his features.  "Have I done something else wrong?"
My hands slide down to grip his hands.  "Don't you need to ask me to date you officially?"
The tint of rose on his cheeks intensifies a shade.  "I thought it was clear already..."
Another chuckle bubbles from my lips and I lean up to kiss his warm cheek.  "I'll let it pass because I want to date you too."  His face begins to light up in joy, but I push off from the desk and tow him out of the room.  "But you have to start coming to class again."
Shouto catches up to keep pace with me and presses a kiss to my forehead.  "Done."
"And you need to see a therapist, Mr. Bad Boy."
He breaks out into a smile at that nickname.  "I'll think about it."

So this is definetly not because of that tiktok we saw BUT izuku hasnt had a birthday party outside of him and his mom since he was like 4 and it slips out one day as his birthday is getting closer when his friends ask what his plans are and all of class 1a bands together to throw him the best birthday party
it absolutely is because of the tiktok (but also because the ideas that you give me that make me write the most) that i got 1.3k out of this prompt.
"Guys, really… It's. It's not that big of a deal." Izuku turns to see that Ochako and Tenya have already gotten the evil look in their eyes. He sighs and looks down. "I'm used to not having a party. It's fine if I don't do anything for it." He watches as Ochako gets her "I have a plan, but there is no way that you're going to find out about it" look.
Izuku fears nothing more than he fears that look coming from Ochako.
"I'm not going to stand for that, Deku!" Tenya nods along with her. "You stay here. Don't go into the lounge." As she and Tenya leave him in the kitchen, Izuku can hear her mutter, “did he really wait until two days before his birthday to tell us this? I mean we already had one planned, but like damn.”
Izuku just sighs, knowing that no one in his class is just going to let him have a small birthday. And don’t get him wrong, he wants a party; one where everybody is celebrating him, all hanging out with him. Laughing because they are having fun, not because he started rambling about something again. He wants one where he’s not being bullied on a day meant for him.
He’s used to the birthdays with just his mom, where he knows that everybody there cares and loves him. Maybe they will all forget his birthday is coming up and he can just make due with a cheap, stale convenience store cookie.
Izuku leaves the kitchen and he sulks on his way to the couch to watch the movie that his class started playing moments before.
— — —
They hadn’t forgotten. He feels very dumb for thinking that they would. He should’ve known that, especially Class 1-A, they would’ve just gone more chaotic about the plans.
Izuku had woken up on his birthday like any other day, his hair a curly, knotted mess, his All Might onesie rumpled and so comfy. He didn't want to take it off in lieu of other, regular clothing. There was one difference in his morning routine compared to others though.
There was a folded up note sitting on his desk.
“Happy Birthday, Izuku!” was written in Ochako’s scribbly handwriting on the top of the folded note. Opening the note up, he starts to read the rest of the note, noticing and setting aside a second note that fluttered to the top of his desk. “Starting off, Tenya shows his concern for you leaving your bedroom door unlocked. Next, Todoroki keeps calling you a cute sleeper and that you in an All Might onesie is also very cute. I have to agree with him there. ;)” Izuku feels his face heat up with the compliments from his friends. He ignores the fluttering of his stomach with the knowledge of one of them, specifically, complimenting him.
“Also when you wake up, don’t worry about getting ready in a rush. Actually feel free to take your time doing what you need to do. When you do end up going downstairs, go to the kitchen first.” He reads the rest of the note, a small smile coming across his face as reads the little sign off from Ochako, their names followed by a small gentle heart. His hand coming up to his face to wipe away the tears he hadn't realized started falling.
He set the first note down and picks up the small slip of paper that is covered in Todoroki’s messing handwriting. “Keep your door unlocked again and fear getting All Might merch stolen for an Endeavor related prank. - Todo Shouto” His smile glows a bit more after reading Shouto’s note, a small laugh bubbling out from his throat.
He could feel the appreciation for his friends growing as he had read the notes grow even more. He is so grateful for the things that they have done for him in the past year of traumatic attacks and everything else that they’ve had to experience.
Maybe the party wouldn’t be so bad…
He sends a text out to Shouto telling him, “bet” in response to his note. And since they told him to take his time, after changing, he calls his mom to talk to her for a bit.
It goes as any call with his mom goes, filled with excited rambling from both of them and leaving Izuku with a sort of sadness. It's the first birthday he’s really spending without her and although he knows it's going to be a good birthday, he misses having katsudon and hearing his mom’s out-of-tune singing. There’s something about missing this tradition that takes the small smile from his face.
The tears that follow are short lived, they staryslow and leave quickly. He wipes at his face, hoping it wasn’t noticeable that he had been crying. He didn’t want to ruin the fun that his friends worked so hard to plan for. He gets up from his desk, hiding the notes somewhere he will see so he can put them on his walls.
He goes to his door, savoring the quietness before the chaos begins.
— — —
“Do you think he’s actually going to take the message of taking his time seriously?” The question comes from above Shouto, the string in his hand tugging as Ochako moves. The banner she is hanging is something that Momo and Hagakure worked hard to create, the detail showing just how much effort they put into it. There is yelling coming from the kitchen, a blast shortly following. Shouto watches as Kaminari and Sero run out of the kitchen, Bakugou screaming from behind him.
“Maybe for a bit. He doesn’t take breaks often so I think he won’t take very long to himself.” It’s Jirou’s soft voice that chimes in from the couch, her guitar propped up on her leg as she strums out a entle tune. Shouto looks down for a few seconds before he feels the tug to bring Ochako down to the ground.
She nods once her feet hit the ground at him before looking up at the banner. “That’s true.”
“I expect he will be calling his mother. If he hasn’t had a birthday party before, he’s probably only spent it with her.” It's a logical assumption from Tenya that has Shouto thinking harder and doing what he thinks are very hard calculations.
“So a few more moments.” He keeps his voice quiet and looks down, only Ochako and nods at him again.
“Yeah, probably.” She looks out at the rest of the class, yelling “someone tell the Bakusquad they only have a few more minutes. Deku should be down soon.” There are a few yells in a response before the chaos causers file out of the kitchen, Bakugou the last to come out.
A few moments, there is the dinging of the elevator and Ochako is signalling the class to get into position. Everybody hides in easy to see places and Shouto turns the lights out to the lounge, staying close to the light switch. He can hear the sounds of Izuku shuffling (and sniffling) around in the kitchen before everything calms for a few moments. He assumes Izuku is reading the third (Ochako thinks it's only the second) letter saying Happy Birthday to Class 1-A’s sunshine boy. Shouto waits until he hears the footsteps approaching the lounge before he gets ready to turn the lights back on.
When he sees Izuku come into the lounge is when he flips the switch . What he didn’t expect to see was Izuku holding his hand to his mouth as tears streamed down his face. Everybody yelled out a loud “Surprise!” not knowing he was crying.
They should’ve anticipated it, and that is why SHouto’s immediate response to the sight that Izuku is,  isn't to yell out the surprise. It’s to go over to him and hold him as his legs give out underneath him when the class yells. Shouto slides Izuku to the ground gently, holding him as he cries with a small smile. “Happy Birthday, Midoriya Izuku.”

achilles, achilles come down (won’t you get up off, get up off the roof)
"This is a literal warzone!" the officer raves. "Let the heroes handle this, son."
"You don't have to be a hero to do what's right!" Natsuo yells in the man's face. "Maybe if more ordinary people stepped in when they should, we wouldn't be in this mess!"
Post Chapter 291 (technically AU as of 292). Natsuo can't watch his brother die without trying to save him. Not again.
Link to the fic at ao3.
*
*
Natsuo runs. It feels like all he can do.
He runs through the wreckage, the ruble, the destruction. Barely spares it a glance, the world a blur as it rushes by. How he's managed to stay on his feet and not trip or collapse is a miracle. If he had any blood left for his brain, if his blood wasn't pumping through his body so loud it roars in his ears, blocking out everything else, he may have been able to think it over clearly.
The fact is, he's not. Thinking clearly. Or maybe he's seeing clearly for the first time in a forever.
"Touya-nii!" Natsuo stumbles in his haste to get down the stairs. "Don't leave without me!"
He stretches his hand out to his brother, who's already at the door. Touya turns at his whine, eyes sparkling fondly.
"'Course not. You know I won't leave you behind!" He ruffles his hair with a hint of teasing. "Besides, Fuyumi is grabbing our lunches. So I've got no choice, huh?"
Natsuo heaves a sigh. In his hurry, he didn't even tie his shoes. Without any prompting, Touya leans down to knot the laces tight.
"You have soccer practice today, right?" Natsuo nods. "I'll walk you home, once I'm done my training. Wait for me by the bleachers."
There are fresh bandages peeking out of his brother's sleeve. Natsuo pretends not to look. Touya catches it when he quickly averts his eyes and smiles to show it's okay.
"Don't worry, they don't hurt anymore!" Natsuo knows that isn't true. His brother can't hide, when Natsuo has watched him cry, night after night. Lately his brother always seems to be hurting, inside and out. Nobody else seems to have noticed.
His brother is smiling, but it's a lie.
Liar, Natsuo gnashes his teeth against the wind as it buffets his face. Liar, liar, lair.
His mind chants it in the voice of a petulant child: Touya is a liar. For years, and years, and years, Touya - or is it Dabi? - left Natsuo to believe he was dead. He lied to Fuyumi and Mom, too, but he's ashamed to admit he cares that he out of everyone was kept in the dark.
Growing up, they were each other's confidantes. For every white lie Touya told, Natsuo got the ugly truth. Every resentment he held in his heart, Touya accepted without judgement. It was a burden and a privilege, taking up the torch of his brother's memory. Giving him a voice where he no longer had one. He suspects that he's mourned his brother most because nobody else had known the Touya he did.
Why do I exist?
For months after he died, Natsuo used to always keep one ear tilted toward the front door, wishing for his brother to walk through it and apologize for making him wait. He did this for so long Fuyumi become concerned that he wasn't coping. To her relief, the weight of his disappointment wore him down, and finally convinced him that his big brother wasn't coming back.
To have those childish hopes vindicated by the broadcast of a notorious villain feels like the punchline to a cruel cosmic joke.
Surreal as it is, he doesn't falter. Touya must have his reasons for hiding the truth, but Natsuo needs to hear the reason from his brother before he decides if the writhing mass in his stomach is more grief or elation.
The streets this close to the battle are empty. Deserted. Anyone with good sense would have fled hours ago. Obviously, Natsuo isn't exactly being ruled by logic.
He runs. Runs until his lungs burn, begging for him to stop. He's never burned from the inside, not like Touya. Yet he'd lay awake some nights, wondering what he must've felt in those final moments. Afraid, alone, burning so hot and horribly- god, it must've hurt-
The villain in the broadcast has scars everywhere. His chest, his arms, his chin. All they ever managed to find of Touya was that piece of his jaw. Biles rushes up his throat at the mere mention of it still.
It was Fuyumi who explained in a hushed voice why there was no body for them to bury. It wasn't her job to share the grisly details of their brother's demise, but Mom was gone and Dad was useless. So it was Fuyumi who squeezed his hand at a funeral with a hollow casket, telling him, "It's alright to cry " while she openly wept.
Natsuo spent the service watching his father, searching for signs of- well, he isn't sure what he wanted to see. He remembers his father's state of disbelief. The remorse that flit over his features. If he had to put a name to how his father looked in that moment it would probably be helpless. And the fury this ignited in his heart could've melted through the earth's core.
Helpless, as if this was completely out of his control. Helpless, as if Touya hadn't come to Natsuo every fucking night in tears over how he was a failure who didn't have a reason to exist. And he didn't even have the decency to watch his son's sense of self disintegrate. In his absence, that task fell to Natsuo.
Nowadays, Natsuo watches his father pray at a shrine and admit he's to blame, but it's the hollow casket all over again. Because he's never understood why it was his fault. Never realized how he tortured Touya. Molding him for a purpose he could never fulfill and then treating him like a consolation prize. Discarding a child whose only flaw was a body at war with his Quirk, a thing beyond his control.
In his own narrow, selfish way, Natsuo believes his father loves them. His encounter with Ending certainly put that into perspective. And yet if he could toss his less-than-perfect children aside for his own aspirations, without considering the damage that would do, what sort of love was that? Maybe he didn't understand; he had never had a Quirk worthy of his father's adoration.
Natsuo was never the favorite child and that's fine. He saw where it got his brothers.
Why do I exist?
A gloved hand clamps around his arm, startling him so hard he'd scream if he had any breath to spare.
"Hey, what're you doing?" In his single-minded focus, Natsuo hadn't noticed the string of officers blocking his path, including the one glaring at him like he's crazy. Probably they were there to assist any people who were to injured or scared to escape, not deter the only idiot in the city running towards the danger. "All civilians have to evacuate this area immediately!"
"Get away from me!" he snaps, shrugging out of the grip. He has barely managed to get his heartrate under control when he catches sight of Gigantomachia, which knocks the air right back out of him.
He has no idea how his little brother, or anyone, does this on a regular basis. His knees have locked up at the mere glance. The heroes who can still fight make a valiant effort to subdue the beast, and even as Best Jeanist attempts to wind his steel cables around the villain, it seems like a desperate attempt to mitigate the devastation. Surely, though, once more heroes arrive they...
There. Atop the roof of a building, Natsuo spots the villain from the broadcast, a splotch of white hair atop a black silhouette. Flames sprout from his torso, a blazing shroud of blue, and the fear that shoots through Natsuo overtakes any hesitation. He makes to run as the officer catches him by the shoulder.
"This is a literal warzone!" he raves. "Let the heroes handle this, son."
"You don't have to be a hero to do what's right!" Natsuo yells in the man's face. "Maybe if more ordinary people stepped in when they should, we wouldn't be in this mess!"
A roar from Machia sends a shockwave through the ground. That, coupled with the officer's stricken reaction to his words is what allows Natsuo to escape. He sprints toward the building where he last saw Dabi, the officer's cries lost to the hum of adrenaline coursing through his veins.
The distance is nothing compared to a decade of grief, regret and guilt. It urges him up a flight of stairs, and another, and then another after that. By the time he reaches the roof, his lungs may well and truly explode if he taxes them any further.
Up this high, the wind is nearly deafening. Maybe it's the hammer of his heart in his chest. Dabi stares over the ledge, cloaked in flames. At this angle, Natsuo can't see his face, but the way his body's poised to leap, ready to rejoin the fray and leave him behind again... Something in Natsuo breaks. When the cry drags itself out of his throat, it's the raspy plea of a child.
"Touya!"
Dabi freezes, whirls towards his voice and that- Natsuo's breath hitches. That's his brother. His face is older, a patchwork of pain and yet... Without a doubt, it's Touya. Until this moment, Natsuo couldn't scarcely comprehend the truth, even as watched it play out on his phone screen. Now if he reached out a hand, it would definitely touch someone real, solid. Alive.
Had his family stood against him like this and really not recognized him? Shouto was hardly at fault, when he scarcely remembered his oldest brother. And as for his father... He had a knack of not paying attention where it mattered.
"It is you," he says hoarsely, surging forward on legs reduced to jelly. His heart sinks when his brother rebuffs the touch.
"Natsu..." Touya whispers his name in bewilderment. At least the distraction is enough for his flames to recede and Natsuo wants to fucking weep in relief. "What are you-"
Suddenly, the building rocks beneath their feet, a stark reminder of their proximity to the battle. Midair as he prepares to land a blow against Machia, Shouto's gaze strays over to Dabi, only to notice he's no longer alone. His eyes widen in visible terror. "Natsuo, get out of here!" he shouts.
Before he can stress the point, Machia swipes a massive claw at the heroes. Shouto dodges expertly, drawn back to the fight.
"He's right," Touya says flatly. It jolts Natsuo out of his terror-stricken daze. "You should go."
All traces of fear abates as anger seeps through the cracks of his resolve.
"What, you can give Dad and Shouto the news in person?" Natsuo's lips wobble into a line more sneer than a smirk. "While me, Fuyumi and Mom get to hear it over a fucking video."
"I'm not sorry for what I said," he scoffs. "He deserves to be exposed for what he is."
Natsuo swallows. "I know," he says tightly, and the thing is, he does. Beneath the whiplash of shock and sorrow, some vindictive part of Natsuo was glad when Touya exposed the image of their happy little family for the sham it is. He feels like shit for reveling in it at all; this will crush the dream of a normal family Fuyumi fought tooth-and-nail to preserve. Even the guilt doesn't stifle that sliver of satisfaction.
Out of all the siblings, he understands. The weight of his silence is unbearable some days. Knowing that it only protects the perpetrator, not the victims. Worse is the days where the silence doesn't weigh on him at all; those are the days he can't seem to forgive himself.
Tears begin to blur his vision. He blinks fervently against the sting. He hates that he has to do this here, on a roof, amongst this goddamn chaos. "You couldn't have told me the truth before you broadcasted it to the rest of the world!?"
Finally, Touya meets his gaze. His expression is unreadable, except for his eyes. They might shine blue, but there's no mistaking they're his mother's eyes. And no matter how much she hid, you could always see the sadness if you looked her in the eye.
"Didn't think you'd want a stitched-faced criminal showing up at your university," he deadpans.
Whatever retort he had to that shrivels up at the revelation: He knows where I go to school?  It lodges like a stone in the pit of his stomach. If that's the case, he must know where Fuyumi goes to school, where Mom's staying. It should be terrifying, a murder stalking him, his mother, his sister.
But it's heartbreaking, is what it is.
Watching Endeavor's career was necessary to his revenge, but that... That was Touya, shadowing his family like a spectator, a ghost, while they went on with their lives.
His jaw tightens against the crushing wave of emotion. "That's no excuse."
"It isn't one," Touya replies, tonelessly. "None of this is."
Natsuo blanches, though he manages to tamp down on the knee-jerk of panic. No, that isn't what this is, is it? The broadcast. Attacking Endeavor. This isn't a confessional and Touya isn't asking for his forgiveness. Unlike back then, Natsuo knows what this is. Knows the signs. He spends every day pouring over coursework that describes this exact scenario.
He won't be helpless this time.
Keep him talking, tether him to the present.
"You were alive for all these years..." He can't quite wrap his mind around the idea. His brother, the frailest of them all, scorched alive by his own fire, and crawling out of the ashes without help from anybody? "Where were you? How did you survive when you-"
"Look like a charred piece of meat?" Touya's grin cuts through the question, all sharp edges and spite. It's a bait and he refuses to rise. When Natsuo doesn't budge, the façade drops, replaced by a placid expression. "Never mind, it doesn't matter."
"Of course it matters!" Natsuo bristles. Both of them hear the underlying sentiment behind the words: You matter to me!
He senses it the moment Touya shuts down. He was good at that, even as kids. He must've learned it from their mom: repress it, bury  it, disguise it with a smile. Until it inevitably boils over.
Touya turns his back to him. Somehow that aches worse than anything else. "You shouldn't be here," he repeats, chilling his brother to the bone. He sounds so serene. Matter-of-fact. Like he's burned through everything he had and now is left numb. "The Touya you knew is dead. Dry your tears and move on. It won't be hard. You've done it before, you can do it again."
He lays in bed some nights, wondering if his brother suffered, if as he died he screamed for help. Touya was good at hiding the pain, but oh, god, it must've hurt-
"Cut the crap!" Natsuo snaps. "Stop treating me like the Natsu you remember. I'm not that kid anymore, either."
He grinds his teeth together to keep any of his other bitter thoughts at bay. He hadn't meant to be harsh and besides, that isn't what Touya needs from him right now. However, it seems to jostle something in his brother, who looks at him, truly looks. Finally sees the angry, desperate and dirt-streaked man standing in front of him. A thin smile stretches the staples on his cheeks.
"No," he laughs, manic, and a little fond. "I guess not, huh?"
Natsuo huffs out a near-laugh, too. His mind is reeling yet his heart hangs less heavy than it did before. Briefly, it feels as if they are those kids, the ones who simply found comfort in each other's company. But the triumph is short-lived and he makes a critical error- he forgets. Forgets they're surrounded by heroes who view his brother as an imminent threat.
Steel cables jet out towards Touya from behind. Over his shoulder, Natsuo watches a streak of ice join the attack, likely to staunch any retaliatory flames, and he curses his little brother in the same breath his heart breaks for him. As far as Shouto's concerned, this is Dabi, and all he's trying to do is protect Natsuo, yet it's so fucked up because that isn't the brother he needs to save.
All he knows is that Touya, with the state he's in... Mentally distraught, physically destroyed. He won't surrender but he won't survive this much longer. His skin is still smoldering but he's ready and willing to burn until it's ash and Natsuo will lose his brother again.
He leaps for brother and he can't even pretend it's a noble impulse, or anything less than a moment of fear-guided insanity. He isn't a hero. He isn't kind like his siblings. Strong like his father or enduring like his mother. Not a martyr like Touya. He can't do much beyond the ordinary person, but he's got to do something, or else-
Natsuo surges right into the path of Best Jeanist's attack. Distantly, it sounds like someone screams his name - Shouto? His father? - he can't be sure. All of it's white-noise as he grabs his brother and swings them around, using his larger weight to crash them to the ground. He winces as his chin collides with collar bone, his knees scraping against the concrete with a screech of protest. Touya lands against his back, hard, the air punched out of his chest.
There's a dazed stretch of silence while Touya gawks up at him and Natsuo pants in the wake of his most recent adrenaline rush. It lasts for all of a second before his brother's howling and thrashing against his hold.
"You idiot!" he seethes. "Natsu, what the hell is wrong with you?! What are you doing? Let me go!"
His skin begins to heat. Though it feels like laying his palm over a stovetop set to simmer, Natsuo maintains his grip.
"I won't just stand by and let you destroy yourself," he yells, giving him a shake. Up close, the smell of signed flesh is nauseating. "Not again!"
Whatever Touya planned to spew back is halted by . Natsuo sobs freely, the tears rushing down his cheeks. They land over scars and skin alike and he wonders if Touya can feel the impact or if he's numb there, too. The struggling has ceased, and if ever there was a time to speak, it'll have to be now.
"You came to me crying, asking why you should exist . . . and I didn't have an answer."
There are fresh bandages peeking out of his brother's sleeve. Out of the collar of his shirt, too.
Fresh scars decorate his skin every day. Evidence of the training he continues, despite his father's disinterest. Despite the toll it's taking.
Natsuo pretends not to look. If he's noticed, someone else must have, too. A teacher. An adult. Mother, if she were home. Father, if he cared to look.
He shuts his eyes against the memory, where he can still see it, the angry red of his brother's flesh. "I knew you were hurting yourself with your Quirk. That you didn't care what happened to you, as long as you could prove you were useful!"
Fists tremble where they're clenched around Touya's arms, digging into scar-tissue. "I didn't know who to tell or if I should... Mom was already unstable and Dad was the reason... I didn't know what to do so I didn't nothing. And you... you..."
Wait for me by the bleachers.
Natsuo is left waiting, waiting, waiting. Forgotten. No surprise, since he was always the forgotten one. Fuyumi was the only girl, Touya was the oldest, and Shouto was the favorite but Natsuo- well, it was easy to forget Natsuo. Only Touya never forgot, which makes it all the worse. After he promised!
Sullenly, he walks home. Swears the moment he walks through the door he's going to give his brother a piece of his mind.
He never gets the chance.
"You didn't come home." Touya watches the words leave his mouth like he can't fathom any of them, but that's okay. This is Natsuo's grief to bare. He won't ever understand what it's like to burn, just as Touya won't understand this. "You didn't come home that day and I never got to tell you, I..."
Touya has barely moved since he started talking. Shock seems to have rendered him mute, the only proof of life the shallow rise his chest. He looks too prone, too dead like this. Natsuo would almost prefer the mania. Of course there's a chance he'll slide back into despair, or rage, and the sooner they get him to a stable environment (get him away, away from dad) without all these triggers the better.
Ever wary of breaking the fragile calm, Natsuo lifts his brother up by the shoulders, just enough to wrap his arms around him in a hug. Touya goes rigid, recoiling against any hint of affection. The hands that have burned countless others fall slack, neither reciprocating nor struggling. Gradually, the erratic beat of his heart slows to a steady thrum.
"I don't why you exist, but I'm happy you do." The smell of soot and chemicals flood his senses, and it's gross but at least it's real. Proof that however awful the reunion is, it really is his brother. Natsuo chokes out a watery laugh and hugs him tighter. "I'm so happy to see you."
His shirt is damp where Touya's nose is pressed and he wonders if Touya can cry, considering the scars... Wonders if maybe he wept too much when they were young and doesn't have any tears left to spare. It doesn't matter, since Natsuo has plenty for both of them.
The noises from the battle have dwindled, as Machia's subdued and more heroes arrive. It won't be long before they pry them apart to take Touya into custody. He swallows thickly at the notion of his brother in prison, barred from the care his condition requires, but it's all he can do for now to ensure he's safe. Safe from himself, anyway. If the heroes think they can pull the same shit as they did with that other villain Twice, well-
They'll have to get through Natsuo first.

A Fire Reborn: Chapter 1
(AO3)
Summary: Shouto rejects Momo despite liking her, thinking it would be best for her, but after a close brush with death and Momo losing her memory, he decides to makes amends and try to be closer to her.
Word Count: 1,851
Notes: This was based on a headcanon and my first BNHA fic and I also abandoned it during some difficult time but I do plan to finish it. I finally got it added back to my AO3 account.
*****
Was it possible to feel both happy and terrified at the same time? It had to be because his heart was being twisted and torn in two different directions right now.
It was night by the lily pond, and there was a summer breeze that kept moving Momo’s bangs in front of her eyes so she kept tucking it behind her ear. Shouto focused all his attention on that repetitive movement so he could distract himself from the words she was saying to him.
She had asked to speak to him privately so they came here where no one could hear them. She looked nervous and kept fidgeting and twirling the belt of her jacket but eventually looked up at him with those deep onyx eyes and directly told him that she liked him, more than just a friend. The unexpected admission sent him reeling though he did his best to conceal the reaction. More things were said after but he didn’t really hear them because he was mesmerized by her blushing cheeks and the soft movements of her full lips. He was overcome with an overpowering desire to kiss her but he stopped himself quickly.
What makes you think you deserve to kiss her?
He would be lying if he said he didn’t like her too, he had since the first time they were paired up together and he witnessed her brilliance first hand, his admiration growing every time he saw how calmly and intelligently she would act under pressure, how kind and caring she was towards her friends, how considerate she was of everyone’s feelings, until his admiration blossomed into something that was a little more than just that. He found himself smiling every time she got excited over something and the bubbly side of her would surface, or when she was studying another book of hers, her brows furrowing a little while concentrating.
It would also be a lie to say that he didn’t imagine this exact same situation a thousand times before in different settings. Sometimes he would confess, sometimes she would, sometimes one of their classmates would spill the beans, but it always ended with him taking her into his arms and kissing her. He would then invite her to a place that offered good cold soba or whatever food she liked and they would spend the evening talking and really getting to know each other. The image in his head invoked a sense of warmth that spread over his body whenever he entertained those fantasies.
But right now, the image of the flowers, the ones Fuyumi told him his dad left for his mom in her room, kept flashing in his mind like an alarm and the old feeling of nausea crept up again and filled his throat, rendering him cold and mute. Shouto wanted to believe he was nothing like father but those flowers were a cruel reminder of what he could be.
His father was once kind, or at least pretended to be, and he was obviously attentive enough, but he still managed to turn into a fiery monster in human form. What’s preventing Shouto from becoming the same? As if half his body didn’t serve as enough of a reminder to their shared DNA, he shared his ambition and drive too. No matter how hard he tried to run from his past, there was no escape, because it was engraved in every cell of his body and advertised to the world by that scar on his eye.
Momo was too good and the thought of her ending up isolated in a hospital one day like his mother made bile rise up even higher in his throat. He liked her too much to put her through such a thing, he couldn’t do it, he couldn’t let her throw away her life, her kindness, her love, for someone who might bring her pain and ruin. He knew he was nothing like that now but how could he guarantee he would never become like his father? There was no way to be sure.
It took him a few moments to gather the courage to utter his next few words but before he opened his mouth, he allowed his mind to wander and conjure up an alternate reality. One where he really takes her into his arms and kisses her, he would inhale her scent and commit it to memory, maybe she would put her arms around him and bury her face in the crook of his neck and they could spend a few minutes like that till the weather got too cold and they would have to go inside. Perhaps he can get her some hot chocolate and they could sit alone somewhere where she could lean on his shoulder till it was bedtime, then they would go their rooms but not before one final kiss.
“Thank you for sharing your feelings with me” his usual nonchalant voice was low “But I’m afraid I don’t feel the same” his face betrayed nothing but he had to swallow a hard lump. The smile on Momo’s face fell and she could only let out a defeated “oh”. The small blush in her cheeks quickly took over all of her face and neck, clearly embarrassed, as she started apologizing profusely “I’m really sorry for putting you on the spot like this, I’m really sorry. Ahh, this is really awkward” she laughed nervously, tears filling her eyes.
“It’s alright, nothing to apologize for, I hope you’ll have a better chance with someone else” he allowed the words to exit his mouth hurriedly while turning around to head inside, not daring to look back at the sight of Momo for fear it would break him. He moved as fast as he could without jogging but he still caught a glimpse of some of the girls of his class behind the wall fence, they were starting to move towards Momo but Jirou was glaring at him, she flipped him off before joining her friends.
He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should turn back. He said he didn’t want to hurt her but the look on her face just now showed he failed. Maybe he should go and tell her he was joking or something (Jirou would actually punch him for that though). Shouto felt his neck constrict as a weighty chill took hold of his body, his hands resisting the urge to tremble as he could feel himself losing grip of his emotions. Even when he was trying not to hurt someone he loved, he couldn't help but be like him .
He forced his body to turn away from the pond, knowing those thoughts were just his way of allowing himself to slip. She’ll get over this quickly, she had all her friend to support her but if he was with her, she would hurt for a long time. One swift blow was the smart solution.
It’s for the best. He kept repeating it in his head like a mantra, hoping it will dull the ache in his chest. He breathed a sigh of relief the second he shut his room’s door behind him and sunk to the floor, allowing himself to let out the tears he’s been holding. It was fine, it was fine, he  couldn’t let himself falter over something he knew was the right choice, and however he felt now was a momentary inconvenience at the most. It was fine, it would be fine.
He never thought the right choice would be so painful to make.
*****
He’s not sure who told him the news, or how he got into the car going to the hospital with some of his classmates, or how he found his way to the waiting area in the hospital. Everything around him had blurred into dull colors and distant sounds, locking him in a trance  Momo was injured in a fight with some villain while she was out with some of the girls. She was in the hospital and he knew nothing besides that it was a severe injury.
Everyone went inside to check on her but he stayed behind. He didn’t want to face her. Did she get injured because of him? He knew how anxious she can get, did that affect her ability to fight? Was it the reason the villain got a chance to injure her?
No, Momo was a strong fighter, smart and capable under pressure, she wouldn’t let her feelings get involved, not after all the progress she’s made with her quirk. But still, he couldn’t help but blame himself for rejecting her the night before. He felt as if a fiery grip took hold of his heart and squeezed hard till he was out of breath.
He could’ve lost her today. He could’ve lost her and her tear-filled eyes would have been the last thing he remembers of her. Telling her he didn’t care for her would have been the last thing she heard him say. The panic that rippled through him made his breath rapid and shallow.
How cruel could he be? How could he let his fear of the future to take over and hurt someone he cared about? He was so worried he might turn into his father and hurt her in the future that he allowed himself to hurt her now. He looked at his hands and they were shaking, he couldn’t do this again. He couldn’t hurt her again, not now and not in the future. He couldn’t let their last encounter be the last one.
He won’t let himself turn into his father, he would work to become a man worthy enough of being with her, and he would never abandon her again. The thought filled him with enough drive to go to her room and tell her everything, no more worrying about what he could be in the future, he's in charge of his destiny and he won't let himself turn into a monster. His classmates were in the next room visiting Jirou who was also inured, and Momo was sitting in her bed, staring out the window. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Her face turned to him, and besides a small scratch on her cheek and a bandage around her head, she looked the same as she always did. She smiled at him and there was no hint of malice or anger in that familiar smile. Could she have forgiven him already for what he’s done?
“Thanks for visiting” she welcomed with a courteous albeit tired tone “Are you also from UA?”
The question made Shouto double back for a moment, why would she even ask that? Is she pretending she doesn’t know him? Momo was too mature for that. A sense of foreboding was building up in the back of his head like a glass vase wobbling off the table.
“I’m sorry, I was told I’ve forgotten most the people I know because of the injury. Do you mind telling me who you are?”
In the distance, Shouto could hear a crash.

~~
When you woke back up, your head was pounding and you were on your side. As your vision came into focus, the first thing to hit you was how goddamn bright it was. Next was the crushed building to your left. Your head pounded even harder and you realized you must have been the person to cause the imprint in the building.
Kaminari was looming over you, his electric cage was covering both of you. You blinked up at him and he smiled down at you. “Glad you're awake,” He quietly spoke.
You groaned in response and slowly sat up. Chaos was around you and Bakugou worked hard to keep anyone from getting to you and Kaminari. He somehow looked even worse than before.
At that moment, a blast of fire came in your direction and Bakugou quickly hit Todoroki and stopped the fire just in time before it reached you and Kaminari. The heat warmed your body for a moment before the cold wind came crashing back, tickling your skin and giving you goosebumps.
You felt like a burden considering your teammates had to watch after you when they should be defeating the other teams. You looked around you to see how intense the situation was. Sato, Todoroki, and Ojirou were the only people you saw. In the distance, you saw Koda laying on the ground, presumably unconscious.
Where’s Hagakure? I thought she was with Ojirou. Maybe she found Ashido and Uraraka… I wonder where Ashido is anyways.
“Kaminari,” Your voice was hoarse and you coughed a couple of times because of how dry your mouth was. You paused and the electric boy looked back at you after watching Bakugou get a hit on Sato. “Don’t worry about me, just help Bakugou.”
Your voice was still weak and you really needed a glass of water, but there were more important things to deal with at that moment.
Kaminari was reluctant to drop his shield so you weakly grabbed his arm and used your quirk to reassure him.
“Stop that,” Kaminari spoke, pushing your hand off of him, “Just rest okay? I know you can handle yourself.”
You nodded as Kaminari stood up, effectively dropping his shield. He looked around and rushed towards Ojirou, his hands already twitching as electricity sparked from his fingers.
You watched the battle, the sounds of fighting, specifically the explosions, making your headache worse. Kaminari was shocking Ojirou and Sato with the disks attached to his wrists while Bakugou fought off Todoroki. You tore your attention away from the explosions to try and locate Ashido. Her thoughts were unclear and almost like static in your head, but you could hear enough.
Ashido was still fighting against Uraraka, and yes, Hagakure was with them. Ashido didn’t seem too tired which meant you couldn’t have been knocked out for more than a few minutes.
You slowly stood up from your spot on the ground, your head pounded as if begging you to sit back down. Honestly, you really wanted to curl up with some hot cocoa and watch TV, but you knew you couldn’t have everything you ever wanted. And so, you ignored the headache and watched the situation unfold, thinking about what you could do next.
Bakugou looked pretty beaten up, and it would be in your best interest to help him against Todoroki, but his ice and fire powers would be difficult to fight against. It was as if he only needed one second to come up with a plan and execute it, making it horribly difficult for you to dodge something so strong. Bakugou could escape his attacks or even take them head-on, but you were not fast enough or strong enough to break free of his ice walls.
You turned to Kaminari, who had done good damage against Sato and Ojirou. Both men needed to touch someone to damage them, and Sato was pretty slow, meaning Kaminari was able to get some decent hits on them.
In fact, Sato looked like he was slowing down drastically.
What is this kid’s quirk again? Something to do with strength?
Either way, you knew you could help Kaminari more than Bakugou so you ran towards him, making quick work of devising a plan. You ran towards the sluggish Sato, who saw you coming and got ready for a fight.
If you didn’t dodge and he hit you, it would hurt. Badly. However, if you dodged and grabbed any part of him, you knew you could put him to sleep easily. You ran faster and Sato aimed to punch you in the jaw. At the very last moment, you ducked, his punch instead hitting the air. From below, you grabbed his chin instead of punching it which was your usual move.
Unlike most people, Sato was already tired when you tried to make him sleep. The switch was already there, and within only a moment, you had him asleep. Although tired, you knew he would eventually wake up if you let go. You needed him to pass out but Kaminari and Bakugou were both busy, and you needed to do this yourself.
Still holding on to Sato by his shoulder, you started punching. His body panicked as you punched him, writhing in place. In fact, you lost your grip on his shoulder for a moment and he almost woke up, but you reassured him with your empath quirk while still punching.
The calm Sato was now bleeding from his nose, but he wasn’t quite there yet. Just a few more punches and then he would finally be passed out.
One. His heart rate sped up once more and his body tensed.
Two. You calmed him down and told him to just rest.
Three. He was finally passed out, his body no longer strong enough to fight against you to stay awake.
You sighed and let go on him, taking a few breaths to calm your headache. You took this moment to check back in on Ashido and--
Holy shit!
She had it! She had the flag and was heading back to base. Hagakure was trailing behind her, but Uraraka was defeated and had a horrible stomach ache preventing her from fighting against Ashido anymore.
Ashido was tired. Her body was slower than usual. And you knew Hagakure was planning something. You could run away from the current battle to help her. That would probably be the best choice, but in this condition, you were too slow to catch up to them. Bakugou would be the fastest, but you also needed him against Todoroki. That meant that the best choice would be Kaminari.
Would Kaminari be able to fight against Hagakure though? She must have taken off her clothes to go full invisible and that might just ruin Kaminari to know.
You tried to stand up, knowing it would be better if you chased after Ashido to stop Hagakure. However, you still needed to tell someone where you were going.
At that moment, Bakugou blasted up to the sky, avoiding a blow from Todoroki. He was now closer to you than he was to Shouto and so you ran towards him, albeit quite slow.
“Bakugou!”
The blond boy looked at you and worry rushed through his head at the sight of your slow body running towards him. You tried to prevent your cheeks from flushing pink at the idea of Bakugou caring for you, so you brushed it off with the idea that Bakugou needed you healthy to win. He quickly propelled himself towards you. His brows were furrowed with concern as his eyes wandered across your body to check your injuries.
“Stop worrying, I’m fine,” You mumbled as he inspected your head for any cuts. “If anything you are worse off than me.”
“Hardly,” He scoffed, “I can handle myself, you passed out at the first hit.” He pointed his finger towards you and you quickly pushed it out of your face.
“Shut up, I didn’t come here to bicker about who is worse off, I need to tell you something important,” You replied.
He looked at Todoroki, who was currently making his way towards you, “Hold on, I’ll get us somewhere safer.”
“What?”
Bakugou grabbed you by your waist before you could even process the plan in his head. God, I am way too fucking tired, you thought as the smell of smoke and caramel filled your senses. Bakugou used his other hand to blast you both up and onto a building. It was one of the tallest buildings and it would take Todoroki a moment to reach you at such heights.
Your face flushed at Bakugou’s muscular arm holding you. You couldn’t tell if you were hot because of your embarrassment or because of Bakugou’s explosions. Before you could figure it out, you and Bakugou landed safely on the building and he quickly let go of you. You felt much colder now.
“Okay, tell me,” Bakugou said, getting straight to business. Obviously not startled about holding you by your waist and carrying you to safety.
“Oh, um,” You stuttered, trying to refocus your attention on what was important and not on how goddamn attractive Bakugou looked. Has he ever carried anyone else to safety like that before? You shook the thoughts out of your head, knowing full well that Bakugou thought you were and bumbling idiot. “A-ashido got their flag,” You practically yelled, “but Hagakure is chasing after her and is still at full strength while Ashido is pretty tired. I need to get to them to help her. So, I’m leaving.”
Bakugou looked you up and down. You can’t catch them in time, you are too beat up, he thought.
“I know, but you need to be here against Todoroki and Kaminari can’t fight against a naked girl,” You replied.
I guess so, he thought. He took a moment to look down over the building and onto the battle. You took a few steps to follow his lead.
Sato and Koda were passed out on the ground and Ojirou and Todoroki were currently fighting against Kaminari, who was wondering where you and Bakugou went.
“He can handle himself, he hasn’t even used his strongest move yet,” Bakugou responded. “I have time to get you to wherever and back here to help him.”
“No, Bakugou, don’t worry about me--”
“I’m not worried about you. I want to win,” Bakugou interrupted. “So just shut up.” He wiped his right hand off on his pants before using said hand to grab you by the waist again. His hand swept around and happened to brush past your training uniform so Bakugou was touching your skin. The heat from his hand warmed your cold skin.
You knew he was nervous from not only his thoughts, but the emotions he held that rushed through you at the slightest touch. However, your brain was also rushing with wild thoughts and concerns. Your face was flush red and you looked down so Bakugou couldn’t see your bashful appearance.
Part of you was happy Bakugou was just as nervous as you. But then again, your heart was beating so fast. Bakugou pulled you against his chest. You could hear your heart beating much faster than his, which meant he could also hear your heart beating much faster.
How is he already calm, his heart is barely beating! And here I am, an absolute mess!
When Bakugou pushed off, pulling you out of your thoughts, you yelped. Bakugou ignored the noise and kept flying before stopping a few buildings over. “Where is that invisible brat?”
“That way,” You pointed towards the center where all sectors meet, ignoring the insult towards your friend. If you could even say she was your friend.
Bakugou blasted off again, grunting in response. Every now and then, he would land on top of a building and you would use your quirk to locate Hagakure. Soon enough, the distance was minimal. “Quiet down, we are approaching,” You said.
Bakugou looked down at you from on top of the short building. “I can’t be quiet, I have explosions that come out of my hands.”
“Okay, okay, whatever. Just hop over to that pointy building,” You responded.
Bakugou listened to you and blasted off towards the building. Once he landed on top, he looked at you for further directions.
You placed your finger on top of your mouth in a ‘shushing’ motion to tell Bakugou not to make noise. You pointed down and Bakugou followed your fingers to see Ashido sliding through the streets with the flag. He looked back up at you and you leaned into his ear. “Hagakure is right behind her, waiting till Ashido is back at the base so she can take both flags.”
Bakugou nodded in response. Do you want me to land you with Pinky?
You shook your head. “No, I wanna fight her on my own while Ashido gets back to base.”
Bakugou looked at you and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. I don’t think you are strong enough for that, idiot.
“Yeah, I am,” You pouted. “Don’t underestimate me Bakugou.”
“I’m not, you beat me before so I know you are strong. However, you are pale and cold. You lost blood and I am sure your head is still pounding,” He countered, crossing his arms in defiance.
You groaned at how well Bakugou knew you. Someone you only met a few days ago shouldn’t know you this well, and yet here he was, proving you wrong. “I can do it, okay? Just trust me a bit.”
He looked at you. Really looked at you. His crimson orbs stared into your soul and you had half a mind to wonder if maybe he was an Empath too. If only he knew that he was making you so goddamn nervous with just one look.
“Okay.”
“Huh?”
“Okay,” He responded. “I trust you. I’ll drop you off and you’ll kick her ass. Then I’ll kick Half-and-Half’s ass. Then Deku’s. Then we will win.”
“Ah,” You responded, “So ass is necessary when winning. What good priorities.”
“I didn’t say that you pervert!” Bakugou practically yelled.
You chuckled in response and Bakugou just groaned even harder.
“Shut up, you bastard,” Bakugou mumbled.
“Okay, okay!” Your laughter finally died down. “Just bring me to that building and let me down.”
Bakugou grumbled and tightened his grip on your waist--
Holy shit his hand was still on my waist.
--and blasted off effortlessly.
When you landed on the building, you scoured the ground to find Hagakure and Ashido a few paces ahead. You pointed at the opposite side of the street which was out of view for the other two girls and Bakugou easily landed you on the ground without drawing any attention to the both of you.
“Thanks,” You mumbled, pushing yourself out of his grasp and brushing invisible dirt off your clothes.
Bakugou merely nodded in response. Don’t fuck up.
“I won’t,” You retorted.
Bakugou smirked at you and your insides flipped.
When you first saw him fight in the sports festival, you thought he was cool and handsome. And now here you were, face to face with someone even more attractive than you perceived and even stronger than before. You couldn’t help but smile back at him as the pink hues in your face showed themselves again.
Bakugou turned around and quickly ran off towards the battle of ice and electricity that erupted in the distance. Bakugou pushed himself into the air using both his hands to move faster than he was when he carried you.
You turned back around to face the tall, cement buildings and concentrated on locating Ashido and Hagakure. Neither of them were too far away, and luckily they had no idea you were here.
You made quick work of quietly trekking over to Hagakure, trying to figure out how you could sneak up on the sneakiest person in your class.
Your head pounded as you once again tried to hone in on exactly where Hagakure was hiding. You were so tired and craved a nap, and yet you still needed to get the Blue Team’s flag and ensure Ashido’s safety. You were too scared to sigh and kept your shallow breaths to yourself as you followed behind Hagakure, waiting for the perfect time to attack.
The invisible girl was currently focused on Ashido who just slid out of view with the green flag in hand. The pink girl had no idea Hagakure was behind her, and thought she was completely in the clear. You closed in on Hagakure, ready to punch the air you hoped she was standing. Toru was focused on Mina and didn’t hear you approaching. Although you weren’t sure exactly where she was, you just needed to touch her in order to ensure Ashido’s safety.
You reached out in front of you and grabbed onto whatever you could, not quite sure what it was. The invisible girl gasped and rotated out of your grasp.
“Y/N,” Hagakure squealed, “You found me!”
You smiled at your friend but took her surprised state as a chance to attack. You clenched your hand into a fist and punched eye level to yourself, hoping you hit her in the nose.
The girl groaned, proving your assumption was right. You heard her take a few steps back so you pushed forward and grabbed at her, trying your best to make the girl sleep. Unfortunately, you didn’t grab anything and Hagakure regained her stance by the time you realized.
“Warp Refraction: Say Cheese!”
A burst of light shot through the sky and reflected off of Hagakure, effectively blinding you. “Aw, fuck!” You stepped back and closed your eyes because of the brightness.Your head pounded and you knew Hagakure was planning on punching you, but the sharp light prevented you from moving.
A sharp pain shot through your stomach and you suddenly felt like vomiting.
You groaned and shot down to your knees.
Focus! You told yourself. You needed to ignore the light and just use your quirk to create a picture of the scene in your head.
I got her now, Hagakure thought. I’ll kick her and then-
As her shin raced towards your right side, you blocked her hit with your forearm and used your other hand to reach up to grab her arm. You pulled the invisible girl towards the ground. “Sleep!” You shouted, more for yourself than for her. You worried you wouldn’t be strong enough to actually make Hagakure fall asleep. However, the lightswitch appeared in the cavern of her mind and you flipped the switch as if it was your last dying action.
You breathed over the sleeping girl and debated your next actions. You should punch her till she passed out, but wondered if you could bring yourself to hurt your friend. You were way too tired to push her into a sleep that would last long enough to secure Ashido’s safety.
You decided to drag Hagakure into the nearest building. You knew you needed to make her pass out, there was no point in forcing her into a sleep she would just wake up from. You sighed before pulling back your fist. Although you couldn’t see Toru, you still punched the girl, using your opposite hand to get a reading on her emotions. In the body, you could tell when someone is passed out and when that moment came, you finally stopped and sat down for just a moment.
You needed to stand up. You couldn’t stop.
Maybe you just weren’t cut out for this class. Maybe you needed to be put into a lower class level. Your old school never did exercise this intense. You ignored the depressing thoughts and told yourself to just finish this battle. Finish this battle and then you can figure out whether or not you deserve to be here.
You pushed yourself off the ground when a groan. Your stomach didn’t hurt from the punch anymore, but your knees were definitely bruised and your head still pounded with every use of your quirk.
Speaking of which, you left the building and faced where you saw Ashido disappear from minutes ago. You used to quirk to locate her and noticed how far away she was. Although tired, you didn’t put much thought into your actions and started running after the pink girl. You knew she was much faster than you when it came to travel distance, but part of your skills was the speed to avoid moves and you hoped that would pay off today.
Ashido was close to crossing the boundary, close to safety, proving that she was much faster than you, making it difficult to catch up to her. You knew she would stop eventually though, she didn’t remember where the base was set up. When Ashido crossed over the tape into the orange sector, she paused for a moment, debating which way to go. During that time, you were able to catch up just enough that you could call out to her. No one was near, so you didn’t have to worry about anyone overhearing.
“Ashido-kun!” You called out to your friend as you watched her turn the corner down an alleyway.
Within a moment, her head popped back around the corner, and she smiled brightly at you. “Y/L/N-kun!” She used her quirk to slide across the concrete road towards you. “It’s so great to see a teammate!” She stopped in front of you and waved the flag like a child who won a toy. “Look what I got!”
You smiled in response. “Good job!”
Ashido’s smile widened. You didn’t have to touch her to realize how excited she was to see you and to be helping the team so greatly. “Can you help me find the team? And you can tell me how everyone is doing on the way.”
“Yeah, just follow me,” You responded, before heading towards your team.
You were able to use your quirk to see that Kirishima and the others were still located in the corner they originally stationed themselves in.
After making a path in your mind on how to reach your team, you started telling Ashido how the battle was going on your side. “So, I know for sure that I and Kaminari knocked out Tsu. While we fought her, the other teams found Bakugou and teamed up against him. We caught up with them. By the time I left, Sato and Koda were unconscious leaving Todoroki and Ojirou to fight against Kaminari and Bakugou.”
You took a moment to check back in on Kirishima’s location as Ashido listened tentatively to your story. “I think that they can beat Ojirou, but Todoroki is difficult. If Bakugou and Kaminari get so caught up on fighting against Todoroki, we won’t be able to go to the blue sector and get their flag.”
“Yeah, I’m sure everyone is going to come after us now,” Ashido added.
“I wonder if the Green Team is still fighting the Blue Team,” You mumbled.
“Can you check?” Ashido asked.
“Yeah,” You sighed, “But my head really hurts from using it so much, so I don’t think I should. It’s probably more important that I rest up.”
Ashido hummed in response, not asking you any more questions.
After another minute of walking, you finally came into view of your team. You were able to see Kirishima’s prominent red hair shining in the sun. Around him was tape attached from wall to wall, as if blockading them in, no one was small enough to reach through the small gaps left. However, you knew multiple people in the class you could blast through or even sacrifice themselves to create an opening for others. Kirishima turned around when Ashido yelled out his name.
“Hey!” He smiled at you both, excited you captured their flag. He turned to look at something you couldn’t see. “Sero! Take some tape down so Ashido-kun and Y/L/N-kun can get in!”
Sero walked into view and casually waved at the two of you before using the sharp edge at the end of his helmet to cut some tape. He gave you and Ashido just enough room to get into the area before he taped it back up.
“How is everything?” Sero asked as Kirishima and Aoyama put the flag next to the orange one.
“Okay,” You mumbled. “We were able to knock a few people from the other teams out but,” You paused for a moment to hone in on Bakugou’s thoughts, “Bakugou and Kaminari are fighting Todoroki. I know Bakugou is pretty beat up, but Kaminari is in good shape.”
“Are they in the Blue sector?” Aoyama asked.
“Um, no. Still in the green sector.” You took in a deep breath and concentrated on the Blue sector. “The Green and Blue team are still fighting over the flag. It’s Midoriya, Iida, and Tokoyami against Momo, Jirou, Shoji, and Mineta. Although I’m pretty sure Mineta has passed out, I can’t find his thoughts and that usually means he’s asleep.”
Kirishima hummed in response, his hand found its way to his chin as he processed everything happening, debating what to do next.
In your own mind, you debated the only option that seemed best for you. I people went to Bakugou’s aide and distracted Todoroki, then he could get away and go fight in the Blue Sector. Or maybe Kirishima and Ashido should just go fight the Blue team and leave Bakugou and Kaminari to finish off Todoroki.
Although it wasn’t very responsible to leave so few people monitoring the flags when your team has two and will be the obvious targets.
Everyone stayed silent, debating their own ideas in their head, most of which were difficult to pull off.
“So,” Ashido started, taking a seat on the ground and leaning her back against a nearby building, “What now?”
The group looked around at each other, wondering who was going to talk first. Personally, you knew you should go find them, but you were so tired and knew there was very little you could go against the people you were fighting. Just imagining Iida coming at you, unable to use your quirk to help your team, sent shivers down your spine. You stayed silent, praying someone else would speak up with another idea.
“I suppose we need to get in contact with Bakugou and Kaminari. We don’t know if they are going to come back here or go to the Blue side,” Sero spoke.
Guess not.
“That’s true,” Aoyama added, “but the best person to find them would be Y/L/N-kun and she is obviously tired.”
Thank God.
“I’ll take her,” Sero replied. “She can guide me and with my tape, I can probably get there in just a few minutes. Then, we can distract or maybe even beat Todoroki and get everyone back here.”
Kirishima stepped into the circle forming around you and Ashido. “With everyone here, we can wait and see who gets here first. For example, if Midoriya gets here, obviously Bakugou would want to stay and other people will go get the other flag.
“That may actually work,” Ashido added, grinning widely.
The team made quick work of getting everyone ready. Currently, you were waiting outside the tape barricade for Sero to apply the finishing touches to his defenses. Once done, waved goodbye and came up to you, smiling brightly.
“Okay,” He started. “So just tell me which way to go and I can use my quirk to fling us from building to building.”
You nodded and Sero tentatively grabbed onto your waist. You knew he needed to do that to help you travel and you weren’t at all thrown off when he did so. However, his body was comparatively much colder than Bakugou’s and the tape dispense in his elbow jammed at you back.
This would not be a comfortable ride.
Sero launched both of you into the sky, moving quickly. All that could be heard was the fast wind piercing your ears and the directions you have to the brunette.
Soon enough, the directions were unnecessary because the eruptions of Bakugou’s quirk were big enough to see. Sero decided it would be best for you to arrive by making a big entrance. You both swooped in just as Bakugou was preparing a move. Sero sped up and kicked Todoroki straight in the head before having you both land on the ground. You almost lost your balance, but his hand around your waist stayed and helped you keep yourself up. You looked up at him and he winked.
“What the fuck was that?!”
You looked up to see Bakugou, who was fuming in his eyes. His condition was similar to how you left him, just with a few more burn marks.
The blond stomped his way to you and Sero. “I was just about to hit him!”
“It sure didn’t look like it,” Sero laughed. “It looked like he was about to pummel you.”
“What the fuck do you know, tape-for-brains?” Bakugou yelled.
Sero just chuckled in response so Bakugou looked down at you instead.
Sometimes, it really was nice to hear people’s thoughts. For example, right now, thoughts of jealousy rushed through Bakugou’s head. He was slightly annoyed that Sero ruined his attack, but he was more so jealous that Sero got to touch you the same way he did.
The anger in his eyes was replaced with confusion as he looked at you. He almost looked like a puppy, or maybe a kitten, begging you to tell him that it meant nothing.
You looked down at the ground, wondering if Bakugou remembered that you could hear his thoughts. Now was not the time to address Bakugou’s subconscious, jealous feelings. On top of that, you were sure your face was redder than it had been
“Hey, guys!’ Kaminari smiled, cutting through the awkward air. “Come to save us?”
“I don’t need saving, Pikachu!” Bakugou yelled in response.
“Calm down, sheesh,” Kaminari stuck his hands up as if the cops were holding guns to him.
“Whatever, let’s just go finish Todoroki already,” Bakugou mumbled, turning away from the group to look at the heterochromatic boy in question.
He was worse off than Bakugou was, it was difficult for his body to hold a proper temperature and after a fight this long, it was really taking a toll on him.
I can’t believe this intense fucking game of capture the flag is considered a regular day of school here… you thought. Suddenly, Bakugou grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the enemy.
I’ll hit him and you make him sleep, was all you heard before the tired Todoroki enveloped your feet in ice.
“Fuck!”
You looked behind you to see Kaminari caught in the same trap. Sero, however, was able to use his tape to pull himself out.
Bakugou squeezed onto your hand even tighter and used his opposite hand to explode him and then yourself out of the ice.
Sero came in once again and managed to get a hit on Todoroki. Bakugou followed up with exploding into the competitor’s face while he was busy with Sero.
You, remembering what Bakugou had thought earlier, rushed up to Todoroki and grabbed his wrist while he prepared to burn Bakugou.
Todoroki’s flames stopped and he looked over at you with wide eyes. You were still trying to calm him down to make the switch appear, but Todoroki was fast to act and recover from your actions.
You weren’t able to hear his thoughts as you focused so heavily on his emotions. His emotions were slowly changing to become more calm. However, a burst of red shot through your vision as opposed to the relaxed and determined purples and greens that reflected in his mind.
Ice shot through Todoroki’s left side, which you happened to be holding onto, and you felt your hand freeze, the cold shooting throughout your body. Instinctually, you tried to pull your arm back, worried the ice might harm your skin. However, seeing as you were now frozen to him, you are unable to move your hand away.
Fuck! It’s so cold!
Goosebumps arose on your skin and shivers when down your spine. The ice continued to crawl up your skin. You knew Todoroki was trying to prevent you from making him fall asleep without hurting you very much.
Todoroki rapidly moved so he had better leverage over your body. He placed one knee on the ground and held his left arm over his shoulder. He was then able to lean forward and pull you over his body and slam your body onto the hard concrete.
You were still attached to Todoroki and although waves of pain shot throughout your back, you knew you had to keep working. You focused back in on Todoroki’s emotions and worked even faster to calm him down. The red and orange hues of battle and anger morphed into blues and purples. He was fighting against your actions but was unable to fight back anymore.
The light switch appeared, although far away from your reach. You pushed Todoroki farther into your relaxing trap, his breathing shallowed and his heartbeat slowed. Finally, you were in reach of your goals.
“Sleep,” You whispered, and his eyes closed.
Slowly, you sat up from your position on the ground. Your hand was still frozen, your head still pounded, and now you had back pains you were sure would last weeks. You looked up at the three boys around you, Kaminari and Sero stared at you with shock and worry. They were wondering if you were okay or if they should take you out of the game now.
On the other hand, once Bakugou noticed you were able to make Todoroki fall asleep, he stormed up to you and put his hand on the ice where your hand was grabbing Todoroki’s wrist. “This is going to hurt a bit, just stay still okay?”
You nodded in response and Bakugou used small explosions to heat up the ice. You felt the heat and explosions against your skin, but they didn’t hurt much and Bakugou was being safe enough to stop just before all the ice would have melted. He moved farther up your arm and used the same method to melt the ice that crawled up your skin.
Bakugou looked at you when most of the ice was finally melted away. He motioned his head to tell you that you could break away by yourself.
“I can’t, he’ll wake up,” You responded.
Bakugou looked at you, to your hand, and then to Todoroki’s sleeping body. “Hey, idiots!” Bakugou called over his other teammates who were still just watching the situation unfold. “Tie him up and then shock him to make him pass out.”
After recovering from the shock of being taken out of his trance, Sero quickly wrapped up Todoroki’s body, being careful not to get you tied into the tape. Once done, you broke your hand free of the icy grip and Kaminari electrocuted Todoroki much like he did with Tsu. Both boys then moved Todoroki into one of the buildings.
While they moved Todoroki, you awkwardly stood off to the side. With the battle no longer distracting you, your mind was free to roam and right now, all you could think about was the jealous thoughts that ran through Bakugou’s head when you and Sero first arrived. Not only that, but Bakugou had grabbed your hand earlier, giving you skin to skin contact once more. You wondered if he was always so warm because of his quirk, or if maybe his body was hot because he was just as nervous as you.
“So,” You looked up from the ground to see that Bakugou moved to be standing next to you, “What now?” He only spared a moment to look at you before noticing you were looking at him. Abruptly, he turned his focus back onto your two teammates.
“Um,” You bit your lip, taking a moment to push your previous thoughts out of your head in order to focus on the situation at hand. “We are going back to home base.”
“Why? Shouldn’t we go get the Blue flag?” Bakugou asked. He was much calmer now than he was when talking to Kaminari and Sero. You made a mental note to try and figure out why later.
“We wanted to head back to make sure we have appropriate reinforcements. Like, if you run off to the Blue sector and then Midoriya comes here, the plan is kinda ruined,” You responded.
Bakugou thought over your explanation for a second before agreeing with a hum. After a brief and awkward pause, Bakugou spoke again, “Do you know where everyone else is right now?”
“I can try checking,” You replied, “but I am a bit tired and don’t know how great my range will be.” You took in a deep breath, something that wasn’t necessary, but was a habit for you when using your quirk on bigger scales.
Just before you delved yourself into the world of thoughts, Bakugou stopped you. “Don’t waste your energy then, we will be fine without knowing.”
You nodded, too shocked to verbally reply. Bakugou did not at all seem like the type of person to care about the individual over the group outcome. Because of this, it especially shocked you. Speaking of which…
“Bakugou,” You started, “Are you okay? Is there anywhere you are really hurt?” You asked him, eyes darting around his body and examining the burns, bruises, and blood that littered his pale, golden skin.
“Don’t worry about me,” He mumbled, turning his body away from you and crossing his arms.
He was offended you asked him. Annoyed you didn’t think he was strong enough. Even though you once again could not feel his skin and experience his emotions at hand, it was obvious from his thoughts that he was upset.
It upset you slightly that he forced you to let him take care of you for the team, but refused to let you do the same. How someone’s thoughts could change so easily in only an hour was ridiculous.
As someone who could hear thoughts and experience others' emotions, it was more common for people to think that you would be best as a rescue hero or a healing hero. When younger, you were trained in first-aid and how to utilize your quirk to help those around you. The idea of helping Bakugou tempted you. However, you knew it best to leave him alone.
For both of you.
You swallowed down your worries for that moment, promising yourself that it was okay to deny your ever-growing crush on Bakugou.
Kaminari and Sero exited the building smiling as if their energy from defeating Todoroki revitalized them.
“Are you ready to head back?” Sero asked as he and Kaminari approached you and Bakugou.
You looked towards Bakugou, still able to tell he was mildly upset about your comment earlier. “Yeah,” His hoarse voice responded.
Kaminari then looked towards you, “Y/L/N-chan, who would you like to go with, Sero or Bakugou?”
Your brain immediately debated between the two boys. On one hand, Bakugou got jealous when I rode with Sero, but now he seems a little upset at me. Maybe he wouldn’t want to ride with me because of tha--
“She’s going with me,” Bakugou interrupted. Everyone looked at Bakugou.
Or not.
You bit your bottom lip and furrowed your eyebrows out of stress, noticing the jealous thoughts that once again ran through Bakugou’s head.
You weren’t an idiot. You knew what it means to be possessive over someone, but you met Bakugou only a few days ago and things didn’t even start off well. On top of that, Bakugou seemed almost oblivious to his possessiveness, making his intentions even more confusing.
Bakugou squinted his eyes at your reaction to his comment before looking back at the two other teammates. “You guys know the way back. Me and him,” Bakugou gestured towards Kaminari, “don’t. So, we have to split up.”
The answer seemed to satisfy Kaminari and Sero who made quick work of positioning themselves in the least romantic way they could. Currently, Kaminari and Sero were connected by a tape belt that kept them within 2 meters of each other. When Sero set off towards camp, Kaminari held onto the tape, basically dangling under Sero as he moved.
“Ready?” You heard Bakugou mumble, moving your attention elsewhere.
You looked up at Bakugou and found yourself biting your lip again, wondering what Bakugou’s thoughts meant. It was as easy as A + B = C because Bakugou sure didn’t realize what his thoughts meant. He was, however, great at hiding them to others.
“Yeah,” You looked down at your feet, his crimson eyes stared into yours and made the atmosphere fill with awkwardness.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Bakugou mumbled as his hand found its way around your waist, “Baka.” (usually playful way to call someone dumb).
You looked up at Bakugou once more as his hand touched the skin of your waist. His emotions rushed through you, but you were more focused on the smirk on Bakugou’s face and the glint in his eyes. Before you could respond, Bakugou launched both of you in the same direction Sero went.

Shouto Todoroki.
You hadn’t called him in a while. He wasn’t too worried, since everybody needs their space, but he had barely seen you outside of class. Almost like you were ignoring him.  This he didn’t like, because he wanted to know if he did something wrong so that he could better himself.
He didn’t understand girls that well, so he went to the only other girl he ever really talked to except for you. Momo.
It was right before one of Aizawa’s classes when he walked up to her desk. You weren’t in the classroom yet, but he still kept his voice low.
“Um... Yaoyorozu could I talk with you for a moment?”, he asked.
“Sure, what’s on your mind?”, she smiled sweetly at him.
“Well... it’s Y/N, actually. she’s been ignoring me lately and I- I don’t know what to do...”, Shouto sighed
“Oh, I’m sorry. Do you know if you’ve done anything different this week?”, she asked, but he just shook his head no.
Just then, you walked in through the door. Together with Ochako and Tsu. You had this sad look as soon as you saw him with Momo, and it was is a lightbulb went off in Momo’s head.
“She thinks you’re falling out of love with her...”, she whispered, “... you should go to your desk, Todoroki.”
Her words stuck with him. Falling out of love with you? But he wasn’t doing that? Far from it, actually. So he went to the only other woman who he could actually talk to.
The hospital loomed over him but, never the less, he stepped inside. As he walked up to the clerk he took in his surroundings. The white walls, small chairs around coffee tables with fake flowers on them. He couldn’t deside what to look at so he looked to the receptionist, who smiled at him gently.
“Goodafternoon.”, she said, “I’m guessing you’re here for mrs. Todoroki?”
“Yes. Is she available at the moment?”
“She is, just go up to her room. You know where it is, don’t you?”
He walked up to his mother’s room, keeping his gaze to himself. With a quick knock at the door, Shouto walked inside. His mother was looking out the window.
“Is that you, Shouto?”, she asked before turning around with a bright smile.
“Hi, mom.”, he smiled back at her.
“Come on, sit down.”, she offered him a seat in front of her which he gladly took, “Is something on your mind, Shouto?”
“How did you-...”
“I know my own son, this isn’t one of your usual visits.”, she let out a light laugh, “So, what’s going on? Is it Y/N?”
“... it is. She’s been ignoring me lately. I tried to figure out what it was, so I asked another girl in my class. Her name’s Yaoyorozu. She’s very nice and all but... she told me that Y/N thinks that I’m falling out of love with her, when I’m not.”
“Are you close with this Yaoyorozu?”, his mother asked carefully, putting a hand on his leg.
“We train a lot together, she’s very good at combat and our quirks are good together. But I only see her as a friend, nothing more than that.”, Shouto sighed.
“Well, maybe Y/N doesn’t see that. Maybe she sees two people who work well together and her own insecurities just got the best of her.”, his mother’s words were so simple, but still it cleared up everything.
“Thank you, mom. I wish I could stay... but I’ve got something I have to do.”, he told her softly.
“Good luck, Shouto.”
The class was having some sort of movie night when Shouto walked into the dorms. His eyes found yours immediately, but you looked away quickly. With knowing steps, he walked up to you.
“Y/N, I need to talk to you.”, he stated.
Some of the guys started making a fuss over it, but stopped with one look from Shouto. The girls surrounding you pushed you off the couch and you walked toward him with hesitant steps.
The both of you walked into the kitchen for some privacy.
“What’s this about, Shouto?”, you asked and crossed your arms over your chest.
“I love you.”, he said calmly. It was the first time either of you had said it and he said it with as much meaning he could.
“Y/N, I love you. I don’t love anyone else. I know you’ve been ignoring me because you think I don’t. But I mean it, Y/N.”, he told you and took your hands in his.
“I...”, your eyes started burning with tears, “It was just that you and Momo... you’re so good together and I thought...”
“There’s nothing that’s like what I feel for you when I look at her, okay?”, he brought you to his chest and wrapped his arms tightly around you.
“I’m sorry, Shouto...”, you sniffled against his chest.
“Don’t apologies for your feelings.”, he pulled away from you and rested his forehead against yours, “Just tell me if you’re feeling like that again.”
“I love you too.”, you whispered, since that was the only thing you could muster at the moment.
If this would’ve been any other moment, he wouldn’t have done this. But something just happened. You looked so beautiful, peering up at him through your eyelashes. So he brought his lips to yours, connecting them before trying to bring your body even closer to him.
Your hands travelled up his chest slowly before settling on the nape of his neck, playing with the hair that was there, eventually just combing your fingers through his hair. Shouto’s right hand came up to cup your face while his left hand stayed steady on your hip.
As you were about to take it further a loud noise of hard plastic hitting the floor. The two of you basically jumped away from each other.
“Why would you do that in the kitchen!?”, Midoriya exclaimed, red as a tomato in the face. You and Shouto looked at each other before you burst out into laughter. You didn’t even realize that Midoriya had left. When you looked back at Shouto your heart fluttered, it was just the way he smiled and the slight flustered look.
“You should get back to the movie...”, he said softly, putting his hands in his pockets.
“Or I could spend some time with you...”, you smiled sweetly, “To make up for the past week.”
“Well, I couldn’t say no to that...”

Eijiro Kirishima.
What was he doing wrong!? He was scared as soon you didn’t smile to him that one morning. Although he tried to convince himself that  you were just tired, it didn’t work. Because you didn’t walk with him to lunch either! He didn’t have a problem with you wanting to do something without him, but it was unlike you. But he left it, maybe you just wanted some you time?
Still, he couldn’t help but feel a chill down his spine whenever you looked at him when he was talking to another girl. And the wheel slowly started spinning. Were you jealous? No... that couldn’t be it. Eijiro knew how you acted when you were jealous.
No, this was something else. Something more deep than that. He just wished that you would TALK TO HIM. PLEASE.
Now that you weren’t around him anymore, more girls started aproaching him. Before it had been a few brave that had walked up to the both of you, trying to shoot their shot. But without you, girls started popping up left and right.
He bumped into one girl, who seemed to be very stressed.
“Oh, excuse me... um... would you mind helping me find my classroom?”, she asked as her cheeks got tinted crimson red.
“For sure, can I see your schedule?”, he asked in his normal friendsly tone. The girl gave him her schedule and he looked at the room number.
“Ah! I know where that is, just follow me!”
The two of them started walking, really nothing else. Not even talking. God he missed your voice... and how he would love to hear you laugh and-
A little squeak sent him out of his dream world. The girl had tripped and had grabbed onto Eijiros arm for safety.
“Are you alright?”, he grabbed both of her shoulders to steady her.
As if on queue, you walked out of one of your classes... spotting them immediately. When he saw the way you teared up before you ran away, he realized what was happening. This wasn’t mere jealousy.
“Sorry, but I have to leave...”, he said quickly before running after you.
He found you, alone, in a corner of an empty corridor and all he wanted to do was hug you close. But now wasn’t the time. Eijiro walked up to you and sat down next to you against the wall.
You let out a small sob and he realized you were crying. His heart broke at the thought of him making you cry.
“Y/N...”, he said softly, “Baby, please talk to me...”
“It’s nothing...”, you sniffled, “I just... you deserve someone better than me... and I know that you don’t love me anymore, so I just-”
“What are you talking about?”, he interupted, “Y/N, I don’t need anyone else.”
“But, no... I can’t compare to any of those other girls that talk to you-”
“I don’t care about them-”
“... and I’m such a disappointment-”
“Y/N-”
“... I don’t want to lose you but I just can’t compete to-”
“Y/N, I love you!”, Eijiro exclaimed as he grabbed you by the shoulders, “And I’ll still love you, no matter how many girls I see.” You looked at him, eyes red and puffy, cheeks spotted with red and messy hair. Still, he looked at you with such adoration and love that the only thing you could muster was wrapping your arms around him. He pressed you into his chest, keeping you as close as possible.
“Is this why you’ve been ignoring me?”, he asked and you nodded, “Y/N... you should’ve talked to me.”
“I didn’t know how...”, you sobbed, “... and you were busy with other people and-”
“I’m never too busy for you, lovely.”, he kissed the topped of your head, “Talk to me next time.”

ᴍɪꜱꜱᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ? | ᴅᴀʙɪ/ᴛᴏᴜʏᴀ x ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ | ᴘᴀʀᴛ 1: ʙᴀᴄᴋ ʜᴏᴍᴇ
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Valentine’s Special | Part 6: TBA
(AN: feel free to skip this first part of the AN, slight spoilers for the story ahead!: Okay so before we start some quick notes:
Reader and Dabi are 25 presently, Dabi is the eldest sibling with the others being their canon ages.
(I’m mentioning this next part here because I couldn’t figure out how to add it to the title eue) Reader and Touya went to school together since their first year of middle school.
She had gotten pregnant at around 15 with Touya’s baby (this all gets explained!) but given this follows the Touya theory he ‘died’ so she’s a single mom.
I was sorta iffy posting this fic, because I wasn’t sure if it would get any attention, but I’m also excited to do it so... Here you go? lol
Reader’s quirk: Mirror: The ability to make a large force field spanning up to 30 feet or smaller force fields to protect people within it/them. When projectiles hit the fields they are deflected, when non ranged attacks hit them they bounce off. )
Tumblr media
[F/n’s POV]
        It’s been 10 years already, since I last saw Touya Todoroki. Even now it feels like almost yesterday his ashes were found in his room at the Todoroki house. I still remember Fuyumi calling me in tears, sobbing nearly to the point she was inaudible and she had to repeat herself more than once. I was 15, pregnant, and finding out my boyfriend for a little over a year had cremated himself, I went into shock before I broke down. My mom was there fortunately, and held me as I shook with sobs.
        “I didn’t even tell him, mom!” I remember screaming over and over until my voice gave out. It was a bad dream, it had to be right? I hoped that every night for a year that I’d wake up to a call from him telling me to get up, that he was outside my house waiting to walk to school.
        But the calls never came, I only saw and talked to Fuyumi and later Natsuo after that; like me they seemed so numb, after all their mom had been sent to a hospital shortly before, their little brother was a complete stranger thanks to their father, and then Touya was gone… I was there for them as much as I could; my mom shortly after Touya’s death moved us a few cities away too, resulting in me changing schools to attend a normal high school. UA became a far away dream along with my future as a hero; this baby became most important to me, it was going to be the last connection I would have to Touya.
        After Kaoru was born it became hard to focus on school and homework, but I pushed through, my mom and older sister Rina helping me with him along the way, and soon enough I was graduated and working towards a career in the police force. Becoming a hero then… It stayed a faraway dream, plus I still wanted to help people.
        “Are you sure about this? Rina and I have already said-”
        “Mom,” I stopped her, smiling while I fed a then 3 year old Karou,”It’ll be fine, plus my quirk will help with hostage situations and raids no matter what. I’ll be a hero in a way still even if it isn’t a pro.”
        Even with my words and smile I don’t think she believed me, but she helped me either way. She was a single mom young, raising Rina and me by herself, so she understood.
        I eventually told Natsuo first about Kaoru and let them meet so long as this big news was kept from his father. Fuyumi was next, and while she tried to convince me to let Kaoru meet his grandfather (if you can even call him that, much less a father) I told her I wasn’t comfortable with it. Especially when Kaoru’s quirk came in: My force fields along with his father’s powerful fire? Not an easy combo when your son wants to try out his new powers. Last to meet him was Rei, and surprisingly Shouto who was visiting his mom, last month; Karou by this point was 10, and while I was surprised to see Shouto so grown up from the pictures I saw (and feeling bad it took so long to bring Kaoru to finally meet his other grandma) they were even more shocked by the little redhead clinging to my leg.
        Kaoru… Looks just like a mini version of his dad: messy, wild red hair, bright blue eyes, pale skin (with a slight mix of my (skin color)), just like Touya. The only thing resembling me is the streak of (hair color) in one of his bangs. Rina and Natsuo have taken part in jokingly calling him ‘Chibi’ but it doesn’t seem to bother him much; he’s a calm little guy, a lot like his dad in personality too although he gets his brains from me.~
        Now 25 I’m a police officer, working mainly on tracking cases and hostage situations. Kaoru and I moved back to Musutafu two weeks ago due to me transferring to the station there; with his problems handling his quirk I was hesitant but it made it easier for him to see his other family and I’ve considered asking Shouto if he or one of his friends can help his nephew learn to conquer this power.
        Things seem… Okay. But moving back I can’t help but get this feeling something will change. I just can’t place my finger on it.
[X][X][X]
        “Alright, Kaoru, do you have your bag?”
        “Yes mom.”
        “All your books inside? Did you double check?”
        “Yes mom.”
        Smiling I hand Kaoru his bento to also slip into his bag after I tuck mine into my own.
        “Good, I made some yummy stuff this morning, there’s some extra so if Hari-chan wants to try any of it you should share a little,” I tell him while slinging my bag over my shoulder. I watch his cheeks turn pink at the mention of his best friend/crush and bite my lip so I don’t giggle. So cute.~
        The two of us leave the apartment and start walking to the stairs, the morning peaceful at least as we head down the steps and start on our way. People pass the two of us as we weave our way through the crowds, people going to their jobs or schools just like Kaoru and me; it’s silent between us, although Kaoru doesn’t talk much normally but Natsuo has been trying to get him out of his shell.
        “What do you want for dinner tonight?” I ask him, glancing down while we wait to cross the street. He shrugs, meeting my eyes.
        “I don’t really mind anything, I guess oyakodon?” He replies, the crossing light changing and the two of us following the crowd.
        “Oh that sounds delicious! Alright then, I’ll pick you up from Hari-chan’s house after I get off work and we’ll head to the store to get anything we need, okay?” I tell him, Kaoru nodding while the breeze blows through his crimson locks. Looking down at him I sigh, patting his head feeling his hair. “I keep telling you to brush it, Kao,” I smile, the little guy tilting his head away from my hand and scratching the back of it.
        “Natsu-oji said it looks cool, he said it’s how dad started to do his…”
        I go stiff immediately, remembering him again. My eyes watch ahead as my brain swirls with memories I had pushed to the back of my mind a while ago; I keep him in my thoughts of course, it just is painful to regularly remember Touya. Kaoru looks more and more like him as he gets older, from his messy crimson locks to the way he smiles, which makes me both happy and a bit depressed. He never got to see him, he’ll never get to see him grow… My chest tightens thinking about this.
        “Mom?” I stop abruptly and meet my son’s eyes, surprised and coming out of my stupor. He’s pointing to the left at another crosswalk and says,”We need to go this way.” I glance at the street sign realizing I was about to pass where we need to go while so lost in thought. Shaking my head I step next to him and wait, my mind steadily repressing those feelings and thoughts. Kaoru seems to have noticed my shift in mood as I feel his smaller hand take mine and hold it, my (eye color) eyes peering down in surprise. He doesn’t meet mine but I can tell he’s trying to comfort me as best he can while we’re waiting and giving his hand a squeeze we begin to cross when the light changes.
        We reach his school first and kissing his forehead goodbye (much to his embarrassment) I wave as I hurry off to work.

        “Heyyy (F/n),” a voice that makes me inwardly groan speaks up. I stop what I’m typing to look up at Nanaka-san, another officer who’s only been here a few months more than me. He’s younger and seems to know what he’s doing, his quirk giving him the ability to suck in gases and fumes and use them to his own advantage, but he also, from what I’ve seen and heard, has done a few shady deals in the past. I try to steer clear of doing anything more than talking to him while at work. He grins down at me and turning in my chair to face him, he continues,”We’re all goin’ out drinking after work today, you free to join us?” ‘He knows I’m not…’ I think, rubbing my neck and shaking my head.
        “Nanaka, I told you not to ask,” Ira-senpai says, coming over as well. “(L/n)-san has a kid, remember?”
        Nanaka, while trying not to show it, I can see he’s annoyed she even came over, replying,”Well he has other relatives, right? Can’t they pick him up and watch him?”
        “They work and stuff so I try not to bother them. Maybe another time, okay?” I smile, hoping he gets the hint this time. Fortunately he sighs, shrugging and going off to talk to another coworker. A sigh I didn’t realize I was holding releases while I sit back. “Ira-senpai, thank you. I can’t seem to get him to understand,” I tell her, the older woman’s arms crossed and a chuckle escaping her lips.
        “Just ignore him or let his words go in one ear and out the other, alright, (L/n)-san? He set his sights on you the moment you entered the office but as long as you deflect his advances he’ll move on,” she replies, patting my shoulder. “Tell Kaoru-chan I said ‘hi’ alright? I have to go check out some things on the League of Villains case.” With that she heads off to her desk and I watch her go before turning back to my work. The League of Villains… I too have also been looking into them but given my being new they’ve kept me a lot out of the loop. I only really know their names and appearances and the like, pulling them up in the database I glance over the information that’s accessible to me and read through them.
        ‘They’re kind of like boogeymen,’ I think, getting a look at the photos we do have of them. ‘Powerful yet elusive, they give nightmares to parents and children alike, and people are starting to wonder if they’ll be caught…’ I reach one specific person of interest who stands out: Dabi. His name, ‘cremation’, most likely derived from his quirk which… Uses bright blue flames allegedly powerful enough to cremate. The rest, for the most part, have their true names as well as their villain names but no one seems to know who he is. No crimes beyond the work with the league, no age but appears to be early to mid 20’s, no image but a description of black hair, messy, blue eyes, and scars lining his body along with staples seeming to keep his skin in tact maybe? After reading all of this I decide to check out any articles pertaining to the League, but all I find are mostly discussing ‘Tomura Shigaraki’, the attacks on the UA students, their involvement in the Shie Hassaikai situation, and All Might’s retirement.
        I do find some murder cases where the victims were burned alive, including the hero Snatch, but they’re unsolved and there’s no suspect yet. Still, I keep it bookmarked for later.
        Standing I sigh as I pop my back. Sitting for most of the day can really take a toll on your body sometimes, especially when you’re used to going on missions regularly. Seeing I have about an hour left before I can head home I go grab some coffee before jumping back into filing case notes. I get halfway to the break room when my cell phone starts ringing and furrowing my brows I see it’s Hari’s mom calling me, which is a bit odd given she knows what time I’m off.
        “Hello?” I answer, pressing it up to my ear.
        “Oh (L/n)-san, thank goodness you answered!! It’s Kaoru, he’s having trouble controlling his quirk again!” Her voice is panicked and my eyes widen.
        Ever since his quirk came in he’s struggled to control it, and hearing Hari yelling trying to calm him down in the background I say,”I’ll be over soon!” I hang up and hurry to my boss’s office, knocking on the chief’s door. He luckily isn’t busy as I almost barge in and I’m guessing he can read my expression as he immediately looks worried. “Sir, am I okay to leave early? I hate to ask, b-but my son is in trouble!”
        Luckily he understands, this isn’t the first time Kaoru has had this problem since we moved here, but he replies,”Yes, you’re fine to leave now. But (L/n)... You might want to find a way to help him control it, before something happens.” The way he says it I look away and slowly nod, knowing better than to reply in case I say something I shouldn’t. Shutting the door I rush to my desk and grab my bag, logging off my computer, then running out of the station going as fast as I can to Hari’s house.
        When I get there it seems like things are under control again but I clearly see the damage; not only is Kaoru burned on his fingertips and hands but a wide circle of dead grass sit in their yard. Hari and her mom are rubbing his back when I arrive, all three on the front steps of their house and looking up when I'm jogging up to them. My son looks terrified, hiding his hands and having trouble meeting my eyes.
        “... I’m sorry, mom,” he mumbles, the crack in his voice leaving a tightness in my chest. I quickly lean down and pull him into a hug, rubbing his back.
        “It’s okay, Kao, go get your stuff okay?” I tell him pulling back and getting him to look at me. He nods and turns, going inside to grab his things while I step back and run my fingers through my (hair color) locks. “Tsuachi-san, I’m sorry.”
        “Don’t worry, (L/n)-san,” Hari’s mom smiles sympathetically. “We’ll get the yard taken care of, I’m more concerned with Kaoru but he wouldn’t let me bandage him up.” I sigh, glancing at the ring again, knowing there’s nothing I can do but still trying to think of a way to fix that. “But (L/n)-san, I’m worried for when he’s at school,” she continues, and turning back to her I’m confused for a second. “Has he gotten any sort of training or something to help him learn to control it? I hear many kids struggle so have you thought about getting him maybe help from his dad’s side of the family.”
        “Of course, I’ve talked to his uncle about it, but he’s just in high school… He said he’d help him when he has the time, but lately he hasn’t…” I trail off, crossing my arms and looking down as I start to get lost in thought. Maybe I’ll go visit Shouto again or text him, see if he has any availability or if a friend of his is willing to help. His friend Midoriya offered too when I was talking to their group, maybe I can go talk to him too. I blink out of my thoughts and look up to see Kaoru is saying goodbye before facing me. He’s still having trouble looking at me, and I ruffle his hair as we start walking away, saying goodbye.

        The walk home is silent, people passing us and the streets not as busy since many people seem to still be at work. I glance at Kaoru a few times, not knowing what to say while he trails a step or two behind me still looking upset about earlier but trying to hide it. I rub my neck in thought, looking up at the sky and humming.
        “So how was school?” I ask, looking at him again.
        “It was okay,” he mumbles. I nod, and again the awkward quiet settles.
        “Did you like your lunch?”
        “Yeah.”
        “Kaoru, you know… Hari and her mom weren’t mad at you,” I say, deciding talking about earlier can’t be avoided. I catch the way his brows furrow and continue,”They’re just worried.”
        “I can’t help it mom,” he says back, making me go quiet as he finally starts to say more than a couple of words. He looks at his hands as he continues,”I-I keep trying, and trying, b-but it’s so hard, I don’t want to hurt anybody, a-and I’m scared…!” His voice cracks again and I can tell he’s trying to stop himself from crying. My brows furrow and I pet his hair, giving a soft smile.
        “Kaoru-” I go quiet when my phone buzzes and I pull it out, checking it while I keep walking. I hear my son stop in his tracks a few feet behind me.
        “A-are you really going to ask Shouto-oji to help me?” he asks. I halt too and look back at him, nodding.
        “Yep, in fact he just text me back,” I let him know, looking at my phone again. Luckily it looks like Shouto may be available this weekend so I start texting him back, telling him thanks and letting him know what times I’m open to meet and ask where he’d like us to go to do the training. “Uncle Shouto said he can probably do some training with you this weekend, what do you… think…”
        My voice trails when I look back at Kaoru; he’s standing next to an alley between two shops and staring up at something. While that is already a bit alarming the expression on his face is what I notice the most. His blue eyes are wide and while he does look stiff he doesn’t look all that scared, more like he’s looking at something that’s left him frozen in place and curious. My brows furrow, my motherly instincts kicking in immediately as I start to come back over, asking,”Kaoru…?” But he blinks and looks at me suddenly, replying,”O-Oh really? I miss Sh-Shouto-oji, his ice is fun to slide on…”
        I don’t say anything for a moment and move in front of him, peering into the dark alley, hands ready to use my quirk if needed, and looking around. Notably I see the black marks almost like a fire had recently burned here, but other than that nothing. I’m confused, my eyes scanning over everything for any movement but again, nothing. That doesn’t stop me from taking Kaoru’s hand and saying,”Yeah… I’m sure he misses you too, honey…” I pull him away from the alley, wanting to hurry home.
        I don’t know what it was, but even if I couldn’t see anything in that alley… I could feel us being watched. I just hope my gut feeling earlier about moving back isn’t a bad sign.
(AN: Part 2 is already halfway done (Dabi comes in too!) so if this does well I’ll post that too. I have a looooot of ideas for this, and WARNING it is going to follow canon like.... Only a little. Like mentions to activities going on in the universe will happen but given this is about Dabi/Touya, (F/n), and Kaoru it’s obviously gonna stray from canon lol
Anyways I hope you guys enjoy! Let me know if you wanna see more, maybe?)
