Would you care to weigh in on the Sub/Dom possibilities of SwanQueen?

I have seen some compelling evidence for both subby Regina and subby Emma thus far...

thank you my friend!!! time zones are funny, i’m only two hours into my first day lol but it’s going great so far!! my trainer is lovely; the doctor seems like kind of a tool but he’s leaving in a month to be replaced by the actual doctor i’m going to be working for, so i won’t have to deal with him for long.

i would LOVE to weigh in. to me, it’s very contextual to be honest. i think Dom regina/sub emma is generally more popular because of their early dynamic in the show (wicked games by starsthatburn and the wicked stepmother by seriousfic both lean into this heavy). that’s usually where i lean as well.

HOWEVER. i think there’s contexts in which regina could find herself being very subby, and i really only see that happening with emma. i think it would take a lot of trust building for her to let someone see that side of her, and that’s not something she ever really had with say graham or robin. emma is the only character we see her even consider surrendering power to. emma is a true switch, so she can Dom regina, but usually ends up subbing due to regina’s comfort levels.

jouno is very pale

his hair is white. most characters have naturally coloured hair (except for a few outliers), and he’s likely too young (i assume) to have gone grey haired already.

it likely isn’t hairdye either since his eyelashes are white (in the manga. they’re black in the anime however i assume that is just the bones artstyle doing it’s thing). of course he dyes the tips of his hair red but i doubt the white part is dye.

albinism can also cause worse vision and/or legal blindness. from the research i’ve done, it doesn’t seem to be that eyesight with albinism gets worse over time. since we know jouno could see at one point, it makes me wonder if when jouno could see he was still visually impaired? and lost the rest of his sight in an unrelated health issue or accident?

If pomegranate is a vampire do they go by the classic old vampire rules/weakness (repulsed by garlic, can't touch sunlight, weak to silver, etc) or is that kind of thing different for them if anything?

I didn't feel like writing a lot of the common tropes cause they're a bit inconvenient to me lol so pomegranate doesn't have most of those drawbacks however they have severe iron deficiency which essentially makes them anemic so they're sensitive to the cold but also to sun, but the garlic thing and being weak to silver is something that they consider a stereotype lol

In my specific OC non wandersong related setting where I took the same characters, "vampires" is a name for people from a region who live in high up caves where turning into a bat or other flying creature is beneficial, and they also lack a lot of the same absorption rates for iron so they all need to eat a lot of meat or drink blood in order to have the necessary amount of iron to function well.

Most of the meat pom and other vampires eat (in the oc and wandersong au versions) is actually bugs, lots and lotsa bugs!!!! that's why it's best to turn into a bat, like theoretically the vampires could use magic to turn into something else that could eat a lot of bugs (like an anteater) but most vampires just teach their young to turn into bats anyway so it's just what's easiest for them

Are there any things he would do differently if he had the chance to do so?

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say and while Doc realises the very unique position he's in with the Time Machine at his disposal, ultimately the answer would be no, he wouldn't do anything differently. There are plenty of mistakes that he's made throughout the course of his life he could go back and 'fix' if he wanted to and there are countless times where Doc went damn, I wish I did that differently. He's no different than anyone else on that front but he wouldn't take that opportunity. It's too risky. It isn't worth it.

There's a reason why, even before he has all this time travel experience under his belt, his first test of the DeLorean sees the destination time set to the future, not the past. The past is exactly that: the past. It is over and done with, for better or for worse, and it is not something that should be tampered with.

Doc is fully understanding of the fact that the person he is at the present moment is the culmination of all the screw-ups and bad days and great ideas and opportunities both missed and taken and decisions made. To change the outcome of even one of those things would be to set off that chain reaction and ultimately, inadvertently, make far more drastic changes that he never could have foreseen and no longer be the Doc he is now. And Doc likes the person he has become. He's content with who he is; he's very understanding of who he is and why and how.

Life isn't supposed to be perfect and we all know Doc's certainly wasn't, but it's not supposed to be something that you get to retry and retry until you make it perfect. He's made some bad decisions and he has to live with them, yes, but they've also been extremely valuable learning opportunities and he's all the better for them.

Take what he says in part 3 when he 'accidentally' lets slip that Marty's future isn't looking too bright if he continues down this course of action: We all have to make choices that affect the course of our lives. You've gotta do what you've gotta do and I've gotta do what I've gotta do. As much as he might hate it, they have to live with their decisions. Marty needs to decide what he wants out of life and Doc has to let the woman of his dreams go so they can return to the future.

Doc's very much of the belief that the journey is important, not the destination, and that means accepting things as they come and learning to roll with it, not wishing things could be changed.

The only real time he would go back on this is if a decision was made that resulted in the direct death of one of his loved ones because that could have been avoided and he would not leave that as such.

The thing about Tsugumi is that she is a creature of instinct. Any intellect she possesses comes more from the utility of it rather than the value of it. Which is to say, she doesn’t contemplate much of the beyond whether it be the nature of the paranormal that she interfaces with, or the possibility of alien life.

If you were to ask Tsugumi whether or not she believes in life beyond the stars, she’d reply with a resounding shrug and a “it’s possible.” Because she exists in a world where entities can control the weather, shift the tides of fortune, and devour humans alive. A lot of things feel possible in that context.

And, conceptually, Gumi understands that the universe is vast and that in that vastness, it’s reasonable to assume there would be alien life. If you pressed her for further details on why she believes it’d be feasible, she’d shrug again and point out that if the universe is ever expanding and is infinitely big, then it stands to reason there might be life on the other side of it and then rather crudely remark that humans think they’re special but it’s possible other things out there are too.

Because she interfaces with entities who predate what we might lovingly call the age of man. She knows intimately that humans weren’t always the stewards of the earth so it stands to reason to her that to is condition of soul, intellect, and empathy can happen somewhere else.

But removed from the context of alien life with the stars verbiage, Tsugumi knows that gods exist because of the nature of yōkai.

The question for Tsugumi isn’t whether or not there is a god, it’s more of a matter of: do any of them love you enough to save you? And she’s found that the answer to that is no, and if they offer salvation, then they want something in return.

So it’s fairer to say that Tsugumi does not respect gods because she’s met them, and the vast majority of them are cruel or prone to making deals or wanting tribute. She always knew that there was no such thing as a free meal, but in seeing it in the divine, she’s come to realize that they’re all rather similar and cruel and that there’s no point in revering something which can kill you on a whim and technicality.

This is, admittedly, a very cynical view of the divine and Japanese mythology is abundant in divine figures who are helpful and kind, but those aren’t the ones Tsugumi deals with the most. Because she’s ultimately a problem solver and is only meeting the ones causing problems.

ough shit okay uhhh. i think im pretty good at character voice? though sometimes (now) its been a while and i have trouble getting back into it but thats normal i think

i definitely want to improve on like. idk the general word but stuff like descriptions of places or things or like. stuff that isnt just 'the characters do and say and feel this' yk. needs more detail

lots of things make me think about tycho,,,, mostly blue things, especially if they're dark blue, and soft. for scents, i'd say coffee or mint, but also paper because he likes writing, and metal for reasons currently unknown. i'm not sure if i've associated him with a sound before (unless his voice counts hehe), but sometimes violin and piano music reminds me of him! (⁠.⁠ ⁠❛⁠ ⁠ᴗ⁠ ⁠❛⁠.⁠)
