Would it be alright if I request yandere Luffy where him and the reader go to an new island maybe there’s all you can eat buffet or the crew went to a fair🎢🎡 , but what if Luffy and reader got separate and while the reader was looking for him only to bump into a guy (maybe a few ?) who wouldn’t take a no for an answer maybe that’s when reader shouted for Luffy who came running ? Hope this ok and if it’s possible  could the reader be a female if not that’s ok I’m fine with gn. (Mm maybe romantic? If that’s ok if u want it could be low-key romantic if u want please ) 🍪anon

I decided to take a crack at writing Luffy romantically. I might start doing it more if y'all like this. Also I love Lin as an abbreviation of my username, that's adorable. And uh... I hope you're still with me given that this ask is from July of last year...

Prized Possession

Getting to explore a new island was always thrilling. There was no telling if this would be a casual visit, or if you were about to go to war with the local tyrant because your dear, chaotic captain physically can't leave well enough alone. Not that you're necessarily complaining. His tendency to stick his nose in everyone's business and throw hands when necessary (and sometimes not), was what led to you joining his crew and beginning your new life of piracy. 

As well as leading to you meeting the man that managed to completely steal your heart so effortlessly and casually that you can't even truly pinpoint an exact date for when you two became a couple. The relationship only became officially recognized when Usopp asked if you two were a couple or not, to which Luffy hummed in thought for a minute, then shrugged and said ‘yeah’.

An extremely romantic and enviable confession, truly. You wouldn't have it any other way. 

 But that was the past, and you should be focused on the now. It's not every day that you guys get the pleasure of visiting an island in the middle of a festival. Food stalls and various forms of entertainment filled a large open field with vendors all clambering for the attention of everyone and anyone passing by. Your boyfriend had rapidly become a favorite for anyone running a food stall that was selling meat. 

You watched with mild amusement as Luffy shoved as much grilled meat as he possibly could into his mouth with one hand. His other hand was tightly clutched around your own, as it usually was during any casual outing you two had together. Your free hand held a skewer of meat Luffy had handed you that you were lightly nibbling on. 

If you were completely honest, you didn't really want it. You've been sampling various meats since Luffy started dragging you around to each and every stall that caught his eye. All of them have been good, you can't deny that, but your body was begging for literally anything plant-based. You would rip a carrot out of the dirt and eat it right now if presented with the opportunity. But… Luffy looked so happy that you didn't really want to say anything about it yet. You'll be able to get a word in later once his appetite is starting to slow down. 

“Do you not like it?”

The question snapped you out of your train of thought. Luffy had just finished decimating the last of this cart's supply. His cheeks were stretched out as he chewed, then swallowed the last bite. 

“It’s fine, I guess I'm just not that hungry.” This was a half truth. You were definitely starting to get full by now. 

Not wasting a second, Luffy leaned down and ate what was left of your share. Including the stick. Once upon a time, that would have concerned you, but you've seen him eat more questionable things. He must have the stomach acid of a vulture, you're sure of it. 

“Sanji definitely makes it better, I get why you didn't want it.” Luffy promptly walked away with you in tow, ignoring the offended grumblings of the cook he just insulted without a care in the world. This is something that you would normally scold someone over, but you've quickly learned that there is no point in trying to scold Luffy about something so trivial. He won't listen. It'll be in one ear, out the other.

It was obvious that he was trying to scope out the next place to eat from. In an attempt to spare yourself from continuing to eat like a carnivore, you try to draw his attention away from all of the food. Giving his hand a squeeze, you shoot your shot, “Why don't we go try some of the carnival games? I bet we could win lots of prizes.” The games being rigged won't mean anything against someone with Luffy's strength. Bottles could be superglued to the tables, and Luffy would still be able to bowl them over with ease.

Much to your relief, Luffy perked up at your idea, seeming to be interested. He grinned widely, “Yeah! I bet I’ll be able to win more prizes than you!”

His declaration makes you laugh, “Oh? Is that a challenge?” He would absolutely win more stuff,  but that’s neither here nor there. 

He let out a laugh of his own. “It is! You better be ready to- Oh! They made more!” In an instant, your boyfriend made a hard left and sprinted towards a food stall that he had previously cleaned out. That one had been his favorite of the night. 

Apparently, he was so excited that he had let go of you in his hurry to go back. You stare down at your now freed -and slightly sweaty- hand. Well, if this isn't a perfect opportunity to get a different kind of food, you don't know what is. It won't take him long to either clean that vendor out again or notice your absence, so you should find something to eat quickly. 

You wander away from where all the savory foods are being served until you find a row of carts specializing in sweet treats. You should be able to find something with fruit here. The delicious smells of fried dough and sugary batters wafted through the air and filled your senses, but that wasn’t what you were looking for. After walking past a few carts, your eyes zero in on something promising. One of the stands is selling ice cream, and some of the toppings available are fresh fruit. Perfect!

Happily, you get in line and read the menu as you try to decide what to get. You decide on what combination of ice cream and fruit you want and order as soon as you get to the front. The vendor tells you the total while the person working with him makes your cone. Before you can pull out your money, someone behind you speaks up.

“Add hers to my order.”

The voice didn’t sound familiar, so you look over your shoulder. There is a man standing a little too close behind you. He’s tall and has an impressive looking sleeve of tattoos on his left arm. The man leers down at you. Immediately, you get a bad feeling about him.

“Oh, you don’t have to do that. I can pay for it.” You hastily fish some berry out of your pocket, but the stranger beats you to the chase and hands the vendor money first.

“I don’t have to, but I wanted to. Is there something wrong with that?” His smile lacks the warm comfort that Luffy’s does. It just feels condescending and smarmy. 

There is something wrong with doing a charitable act when there is an ulterior motive, but you don’t say that out loud, “I guess not… Thank you.”

He takes this as an invitation to step closer to you. “My name’s Dante. What’s a pretty thing like you called?”

You take a large step back and know that you don’t want to give this guy your actual name, “Well, my boyfriend likes to call me cupcake sometimes.” Among many other far less conventional pet names like bug or meatball. Honestly, you’re starting to think Luffy comes up with odd names just to make you laugh.

Dante’s eye twitches in annoyance, “Boyfriend? I don’t see him.”

“Yeah, we split up to get different food. He’s going to meet up with me soon.” Internally, you aren’t sure how long it’s going to take for Luffy to find you since you wandered off without telling him, but this guy doesn’t need to know that part.

“C’mon, don’t be like that. I bought you ice cream, don’t lie to me about a boyfriend.” 

“I’m not lying. I am here with my boyfriend, and I don’t care for the way you’re talking to me. Look, I’ll pay you back for the ice cream,” without waiting for a response, you pull some money out of your pocket and hold it out to him.

Instead of taking the money, he pushes your hand away and steps closer. “Just come with me for a bit. I promise I’ll make it worth your while.”

The vendor finally hands over your ice cream, and you’re quick to take it and speed walk away. Hopefully, Dante will take the hint and leave you alone. You make a beeline for where you last saw Luffy while taking a bite from your fruity ice cream. It tastes delicious and is very refreshing after having so much meat.

Unfortunately, you don’t make it far before you feel someone grab your arm and force you to stop. You whip around and glare at the man who’s harassing you, “Would you leave me alone? I’m not interested.”

Dante doesn’t appear to be deterred, just frustrated. “Quit playing hard to get.” He plasters a sleazy smile onto his face, “Just come with me for a little while so we can have some fun together.” He grabs your other arm and pulls you closer.

Just as you’re about to kick him between the legs, he is violently launched away from you. It startles you initially, but you relax quickly because you would recognize that stretchy arm anywhere. You smile as you see Luffy marching over to you. You’re about to greet him and say how happy you are to see him, but he walks right past you. His expression isn’t just serious. He looks pissed.

You gawk at him as he stomps over to where Dante is sprawled out on the ground, groaning in pain from crashing into a tin trash can. He looks up at Luffy and tries to sit up and act tough, “The hell is your problem, man?!”

Luffy doesn’t answer him. Instead, he pulls his arm back and punches Dante again. His fist connects with his jaw with a loud crack. In an instant, Luffy is on top of him and raining down more blows while remaining eerily silent. All you can do is stare in horror as Luffy keeps beating the man. Sickening crunches sound through the air, making your stomach lurch with each one. Ice cream drips down your fingers as it melts, but you can’t be bothered to do anything about it.

By the time Luffy gets up, Dante is completely limp and he’s bloodied from the shoulders up. Several people rush to his side to check on him, but no one is brave enough to approach Luffy. The face he had previously is gone and he’s back to smiling as if nothing happened. He wipes his bloody hands onto his shorts as he approaches you.

“There you are! I got worried when I saw you weren’t with me.”

All you do is nod, still too stunned to speak. Your silence doesn’t seem to bother Luffy at all. He ducks down and licks up some of your ice cream before raising your hands to hold it closer to your mouth, “Your ice cream is melting, don’t forget to eat it.”

“Oh… yeah…” You lick at the treat, but you can’t even taste it as your gaze remains fixed on the man that Luffy just beat to a pulp.

Luffy blocks your view and smiles tightly. “Let’s go play those games you talked about! C’mon, I’ll win you lots of prizes!” He slings an arm around your shoulder and presses a kiss to your cheek before forcibly guiding you away from the scene of his crime.

You’ve never seen that side of Luffy come out over something so minor. You would’ve understood if he’d just hit Dante the first time, but the rest? It was like watching someone get mauled by a wild animal. And after doing all that, he's walking around without a care in the world.

… Maybe you’re just overreacting. Luffy would never do something like that without a good reason… right?

BIOS || Abex

Abex is a member of the Hue Crew that replaces Yellow from the original series. He was based on the stick figure representing Alan Becker (oh my god !!! its the guy who made the thing !!!) in early AvG thumbnails, and his name was derived from Alan's Roblox username, Abex01.

Abex's Arcrex was designed to be the perfect blend of form and function. While its main purpose is of a shield, the boomerang/propeller attached to the front allows the Arcrex to be used at range and for enhanced movement... theoretically. Abex has burned through countless blueprints and discarded metals to make the concept into a working weapon. But even after all that, you could find him at the forge conceptualizing the next improvement.

The trident was one of the best things Abex discovered in Minecraft. Its melee and ranged capabilities made it Abex's favorite Minecraft weapon, and he's been using the same one he first got from a certain misadventure.

Seen as the "caretaker friend" amongst the Hue Crew, Abex helps keep the group composed; he's the first to listen and provide insight if there's a problem. For this reason, he was the most welcoming to Dormant's entrance to the Forge, quickly becoming one of his best friends as with the rest of the crew. Abex also has a keen interest in art (specifically abstract expressionism), something he shows Dormant after discovering something... important about him.

okay. yo. I’m Guzma, hence the username. He/him pronouns 💯. I’m the strongest fuckin trainer in Alola and my favorite thing to do is beating down PUNKS with my dope-ass crew, Team Skull. Bug is the best type of pokemon, so i’ll prolly comment on your bug types if you got any of your own. (and you SHOULD.) You got any complaints about any of that, you talk to ME. also, i’ll try to update this if there’s ever anythin to add.

That’s all there is to say about me. Here’s a little bout my pokemon. None of em have names, but since ‘parently it’s common round here I might give em some eventually.

Golisopod’s my main man. my ace. been with me since I was a snot nosed punk myself. don’t play favorites with my guys but he’d be my favorite if I did. He’s real scary to other people but he’s chill when he ain’t battling.

Scizor’s always full of energy, which is real nice considerin how I found him. Don’t really know what happened with him, but he’s gotta lot of sun bleaching and scratches on his exoskeleton. He’s a lot smaller than most Scizor, but he thinks he’s smaller and lighter than he is so he likes to lay on me.

Masquerain’s an odd one. started followin me one day and didn’t stop till I offered them a pokeball. Flies faster upside down, which is hella weird. I wake up to them starin me down sometimes?? Pals with my Ariados.

Pincir’s prolly my smartest. mold breaker’s damn useful on him and he likes it when it trips up people we’re fightin. Real menace. Helps me with sudoku sometimes which is kinda fuckin scary.

Vikavolt’s protective and real good at trackin folks down and gettin me places. He never forgets a face or a place, so he’s my livin map. He likes bein scratched on the outside of his mandibles.

Ariados is real stocky and level headed, so he balances Masquerain out. His old trainer was real fuckin nasty to him so I beat him down and he gave me Ariados. he’s still kinda independent and makes his own webs to sleep in sometimes.

Joltik’s not one I bring out to battle, but I found her with Vikavolt. think they’re family so I had to get em both. she’s real sweet and I spend time with her sometimes when it’s real late and I can’t sleep. Gives me static electricity shocks by accident sometimes.

Venipede’s pretty new. got it on here a few weeks back from my pal Dashy. ‘pparently some bad guys dumped it at zeir gym door, so i’m tryna help it feel better for the time being. It’s real fast, and it goes for walks with me and Golisopod. Thinkin it might evolve sometime, so tryna prepare for that.

Just got a Nymble egg in the mail, so i’ll prolly be gettin one of those soon enough. Real hyped for it!

speakin of. If it’s needed, send any bug types needin care my way. Got plenty of space.

…One more thing. I’m the BEST fuckin bug type trainer out there, dammit. Remember that.

I know right, where are the Childhood Friend fics with Doffy? Every other char has them usually in the fandom, no? But Doffy is alone 😭 just because he's an angry boy doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a friend!

The anon's ask made me so happy, I'm glad someone is enjoying it. I have only published one OP fic on my AO3 username and it was about the Donquixote Brothers meeting. It was a very fluffy fic I was very happy with it even if it was short!

I'm still like getting used to writing x reader stories but the community has been so welcoming overall and all the writers are so wonderful and have such wonderful stories, Snail included! I've not yet published any x Reader story cus aaaa, I'm scared!

Myb I just make another tumblr main blog for my One Piece writing cus my blog has another fandom writing but I am also thinking “hey, you followed me, get ready for shenanigans that comes with following me” 🤣

Yeah, I really need to write this Childhood Friends as a fic. It's been on my brain... A while, but never too detailed, but this makes me want to dive into detailed storytelling for it.

Some more ideas starring the restaurant

- all the birthday parties for the crew are held there

- marines are not allowed, it's an unspoken rule, if any marine comes in, or god forbid, dares to bother Reader, they're dead the next day

- Pica expanded the building to have balconies; the largest balcony with a view of the town is usually where the Donquixote crew eats, but they also sometimes party in the main floor ie the ground floor

- Reader has full free protection by Doflamingo. He calls it Best Friend Discount.

Reader's restaurant gets set on fire and destroyed by an enemy pirate crew and both Doflamingo and Rosinante are out for blood. Rosinante has never been visibly pissed, but it is the first and last time he is genuinely murderous and will take pleasure in killing the bastards who did it. The newcomer Law actually goes full on murder spree. That restaurant had the best rice balls and Reader made him his favourite cake for his birthday a week after he joined the DQ Pirates, how dare those bastards - he stabs so many of them. Baby 5's aim has never been better. Gladius blows them up.

In short, entire DQ Family is PISSED. They set sail immediately after locating the enemy crew's headquarters. Full Birdcage, full annihilation. Explosions and fire everywhere. Then they return but they don't feel good because they usually go celebrate at Reader's restaurant and now they don't have there to celebrate and everyone is sad (Doflamingo doesn't show it for obvious reasons but he is sad too) but then Reader and the restaurant staff surprise them by making outside tables all filled with food.

Corazon actually cries. He falls to the floor, hugs Reader around the legs and weeps. So does Baby 5.

I see you're into PJO. If you had to assign yourself and your mutuals a Greek/Roman God/Goddess, who would it be and why?

(Mutuals, don’t feel left out if I… leave you out. This is just who I happened to get ideas for.)

Myself: My instinct is to answer Hephaestus, because he’s really cool and I love steampunk, or Hecate, because magic is awesome, or even Apollo, because I’m both an artist and a singer. But I think I’d be a/be a demigod of a wind god. For starters, my moods often shift quickly and dramatically enough, but I love the wind itself, and will always say so aloud whenever it’s windy. Wind fills me with life, the way touching water energizes Percy. Plus, I really really want to be able to fly, Jason-style. (I had a very vivid dream as a kid that I did fly once, and I believed it for years. Perfect backstory.)

@lexiconic-light: I associate you with Hestia, ‘cause you’ve got that same kind, welcoming personality. If we’re talking demigods though, Hestia doesn’t have kids, so maybe you’d be a plant nymph or a child of Demeter, because you have a lot of plants and take care of them very well. Or maybe a child of Calliope, because of your writing and love of stories.

@many-gay-magpies: Either somebody artsy, or somebody nature-ey. One of the Muses, Demeter, a nymph, a satyr, etc. Though I also get Hecate vibes from you, so maybe her. You’re mysterious and magic-y. And you like birds. And draw/paint really freaking well. Something along those lines. I feel like I’m missing some obvious connection.

@disneyautistic: Maybe it’s just because you were really into Pirates of the Caribbean the last time we saw each other, but I diagnose you with Posideon. You’d decorate everything with shells and bits of sea glass, and paint ocean creatures on your walls, and wear a sea captain’s coat everywhere. Plus, I think you’d enjoy shapeshifting powers, if you could have them (I know it’s rare for Poseidon demigods, but you never know).

@linklog: Based purely on vibes, I assign you Hermes. No solid evidence for that, I just think you have a good personality for a trickster. Or maybe you’d embody the theatrical side of Apollo or Dionysus. Is there a Greek god of fashion and cosplay? Because I’ve always admired the creativity of your outfits.

@whosectype: Both Hecate and something nature-ey, no question. Maybe a satyr that is also a student of Hecate, learning magic like Hazel was? You’d cast dark spells involving bird bones and fungi and lots and lots of teeth, to increase the growth of moss or make something rot faster. You’d draw your spell-circles-on-the-floor™ in fresh mud. You’d enjoy being a little unnerving to the other satyrs, who prefer frolicking in sunlit fields to lurking in the shadowed areas of the forest and watching trees get overtaken by parasitic bugs.

@cupid-shortcake: Between your username and your pastel pink aesthetic, assigning you Cupid or Aphrodite seems like such an easy answer that it can’t possibly be right. I think it actually works though. On one hand, you show a lot of love and kindness to your friends, lifting them up and making them feel supported and appreciated. But you’ve also got that evil streak where you’ll make an endless series of terrible things happen to your characters because it makes a better story (as most writers do). If you applied that evil streak to real people’s lives and relationships, then you’d make an excellent Greek goddess of love.

(Actually, I think assigning the whole @cupheadocscasino crew gods from the Greek pantheon would make a REALLY COOL AU. I just don’t have ideas for all fifteen, and the characters themselves would probably be different gods than their creators would, so even the three here aren’t set in stone.)

There is no greater personification of the Duality of Man than the man who can lay waste to an entire theatre full of vampires and also spending literal hours closing every possible loophole in Nandor's Dick Length Wish. Keyleth - Critical Role

My beloved, all powerful awkward disaster of a Druid. Keyleth helped me through some difficult fucking parts of my life, and I really appreciate how heavily Marisha allowed Keyleth to embrace and exert her anger where it needed to be released. I love how Keyleth can both bring a building down with her bare hands (literally) and turn into a goldfish and splatter along the rocks (also literally)

I love when character who are hurt or in pain or grieving continue to be kind, and I love when that composure starts to slip.

Ellie Williams - The Last of Us

I love my baby dyke with all my heart. She's a killer, she's a track star, she makes grown men weep and young kids laugh. She's immune from being mushroomified, and she horrifies Joel's Southern Table Manner Sensibilities. What more can you ask for out of a character?

setting // another planet similar to Earth, populated by humans as well as other sapient bipedal species, most of which make appearances in the story. Their technology is similar to ours in complexity and portability, though they are somewhat ahead in terms of robotics and space vessels, to the point that they are about to send the first crewed mission to the nearest planet, a Mars analogue called Delphonus. Despite this, androids are not common, because bipedal, socially capable robots aren't particularly necessary for anything, and still take a lot of time, resources, and knowledge to build (mass production is possible in this world but not used for most things). Relevant to the story, universal basic income is common in this world, as are multi-week breaks, especially around new year’s.

super quick synopsis // A human-built android integrates into an island community to gain his citizenship and visit the world's other three androids, unexpectedly becoming an astronaut along the way.

proper synopsis // Dez is one of three androids in the world. He dreams of going with his primary builder, Anni, to visit the others, but to do that without sneaking around in a suitcase, he needs citizenship to pass customs. (His other builder, Anni’s uncle Julian, owns their house and has forbidden them from making it famous by holding an android conference there.) For now, he’s content to wait until the world’s major government oversight organization, the Data Science Coalition, talks some sense into his home country, which has refused him citizenship on the grounds that it will lead to citizenship for laptops and toasters. He has plenty of other things to keep him occupied in the meantime, like editing speedrun streams for Anni’s girlfriend, Zel, and watching the movies she pays him with. But the thing that’s keeping the DSC’s resources tied up, the fall of a nearby monarchy [yes, the one that Aza and her brother ended], has also led to the reappearance of the mysterious fourth android who used to work for it.

Where the story begins, Anni has been tasked with getting that android, Syndy, up and running independently again. After that, Syndy will be leaving with her guardian, Hoven, to visit all the places her builder wanted to show her before they died. For Dez, this completely changes the calculus of getting citizenship—if he can manage to get it before Syndy embarks on her journey, all four androids can meet for the first time ever. But he’s not sure he can get citizenship at all, let alone before Syndy is on again, because every citizenship law he can find excludes him in one way or another. Finally, he finds an opportunity in the citizenship law of Elbas Island, the tiny nation Anni is about to visit over her end-of-year break to meet Zel’s brother, Zalen. With the island Council’s approval, Anni stashes him in her suitcase and he goes to gain his citizenship by integrating with the community on Elbas Island for a month.

Said community is very welcoming, Zalen is full of stories about the crewed mission to Delphonus he is a geological advisor for, and even after Anni and Zel leave to spend new year’s with Anni’s family, Dez expects to have no trouble going home with citizenship. But he soon runs into a variety of problems, including some islanders arguing to the Council that, legally and on principle, he should continue living on the island after he becomes a citizen. And Zalen believes that Dez, as an android and newly minted astronomy enthusiast, is the only person who could become the Delphonus crew’s geologist in the three months remaining before launch and really wants him to apply. Dez has never had this many opportunities or this many friends’ feelings riding on his decisions, and now has to figure out how to shape his own future.

Dez Chalbis // POV // he/him // ~4 months old when the story starts, looks twentysomething // human-built android // movie enthusiast and Zel’s gaming stream editor. He’s friend human-shaped, with a touchscreen for a face and a body mostly composed of light blue chitinous plating and mycelial wiring. He’s never left the house, other than to occasionally go out in the yard, but he doesn’t really mind because almost everything he wants to do can be done in the house and everyone he knows either visits the house or is an android with whom he is almost constantly instant messaging in his head.

Anni Chalbis // POV // she/her // turns 29 over the course of the story // human // got a degree in robotics engineering, then decided she only wanted to use it for her own personal projects. She lives with her artist uncle Julian in a northern port city, and together they built Dez over the course of ~6 years. She earns extra cash by working in a bookstore alongside a friend with grey hair and pronouns, and met her girlfriend, Zel, through playing a fantasy MMO. Her favorite color is blue, her wardrobe is mostly blue (including her cat-eye glasses), and the fact that her android is blue is just a happy coincidence.

Julian Astatyn // he/him // 50 // human // artist of many mediums. Around the time Anni pitched the concept of building an android, he was getting into kinetic sculpture, and making a whole guy seemed like exactly his kind of challenge. He’s responsible for much of Dez’s outward form and the layout of his underlying musculature. He loves books, brunch, and being the cool uncle (he’s Anni’s only uncle).

Zel Tillain // she/her // 28 // human // originally started streaming mommy dating simulators as a joke, but eventually became a full-time streamer in a variety of game genres. After her last video editor moved on, she struck a deal with Dez: he edits down her streams into clips and YouTube-style videos in exchange for whatever movies or TV shows he wants. Beyond video games, she is mildly obsessed with sci-fi that involves aliens, rock music, and of course Anni.

Zalen Tillain // he/him // 29 // human // received his doctorate degree in planetary geology last year with a thesis on the possibility of silicon-based life on Delphonus. Just after he moved several thousand miles from his alma mater to Elbas Island, he was hired onto the science advising team for the first crewed mission to Delphonus, which means that he’s spent most of the year at the University of the Fifth Akkanswl on the other side of the world. Unsurprisingly, he too is obsessed with sci-fi that involves aliens.

Syndy Gweltsen // she/her // ~2 years old including her decommissioned time, looks twentysomething // human-built android // incredibly lifelike android originally built by H. O. Gweltsen to work in the royal post office. The monarchs were using her to show everyone how cool and hip the monarchy was, even going so far as to grant her citizenship through royal decree, and never knew that she had an autonomous, sapient self hidden in an encrypted partition. That self, an inquisitive and ornery personality with a passion for hair clips and fluffy skirts, is the one Anni permanently unlocks.

Hoven Lolimmo // he/him // 44 // sha-nawwen (goat person based off chamois) // career librarian and archivist who was most recently the head collections librarian at the royal library; now Syndy’s guardian according to H. O. Gweltsen’s will. He discovered Syndy’s true personality accidentally, then ended up befriending and supporting Gweltsen through the last year of their life. While Anni works on Syndy, he explains his upcoming journey with Syndy to Dez, and discovers that he has quite a lot in common with Julian.

Mizzat Keh // vi/vim // ~12 years old, looks about 30 // android built by nswl (dragonesque people based off geckos) // math professor at the University of the Second Akkanswl. Vi was not literally the first android ever built, but vi was the first successful, fully autonomous one. Originally built by university researchers to study androids’ ability to teach and support students, vi is the most robotic-looking of the androids, and has continued to teach math in the seven years since vis originating experiment concluded. In that time vi has also earned a doctorate in math that replaced vis earlier honorary degree and gained citizenship with the University’s support, but out of anxiety and directionlessness has yet to leave the second Akkanswl.

Imjen Hoat // zi/zir // ~8 years old, looks twentysomething // swl-built android // clinic nurse at the University of the Fifth Akkanswl (zi has not met Zalen and has basically nothing to do with the Delphonus mission). After Mizzat’s initial success, UFA researchers decided to build a much more lifelike android who could act as a point of contact for health information seekers. Like Syndy, Imjen is hard to clock as an android, and zi likes it that way. Like Mizzat and Dez, zi was intended to be autonomous from the start, which eventually led to zir shifting into nursing. Zi is about ready for another career change, but to what zi doesn’t know. Zi is looking forward to this mythical first android gathering, though, which might just happen at zis house.

note // Mizzat and Imjen are far from the only important (living) characters who use neopronouns or neutral pronouns, but they are the only ones present from the beginning of the story.
