Neteyam was walking along the beach with his siblings when he spotted you, talking to the Olo'eyktan’s son. It had never crossed his mind before that you, his childhood best friend, would eventually find someone to romantically pursue. Was it wrong to realize he wanted you to himself, and not in the arms of another boy?
OMG IM SO OBSESSED W THIS IDEA!!! If theres one trope I love, its a jealous love interest 🤭 also, trust me when I say ur English is perfect!! Fun fact but English is also my second language and growing up I was ass at speaking it LMFAO so ur not alone 😭☠️

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [02/01/23] ❞
It had been roughly a week since you arrived on the Awa'atlu village's shoreline. When you initially arrived, the Olo'eyktan's son harassed you relentlessly.
There were many things he liked to call you. Freak, weirdo, dimwit, you name it.
There was nothing freak-like about you, per se, but the fact that you were from the forest made you a target to Aonung's bullying. What skills could a woodland girl teach sea people? It was dreadful that you had to hide among them in the first place.
Technically, you had no obligation to go into hiding with the Metkayina clan, but you felt as if the Omaticaya had nothing left for you when your childhood best friend, Neteyam, informed you that he and his family needed to flee.
When Neteyam initially told you that he had to abandon your clan, including you, you wailed into his arms as if he had just perished. You couldn't bear the thought of not being with Neteyam, even if it meant compromising your clan's safety.
The truth is, you overreacted so harshly because you’ve had feelings for Neteyam for years now. You’ve always been unsure if he reciprocated, but there were moments between the both of you where he’d send mixed signals; you didn’t know what shifted or when, but there was just something between you both that felt like you were more than just friends.
And now he wouldn’t be able to stay and see how your relationship would unfurl.
Maybe you were foolish to persuade Jake Sully into bringing you along, but he eventually agreed (albeit reluctantly), since you and his son made each other happy. Neteyam was pleased when you told him you were departing with him.
So there you were, well acquainted with the Metkayina, and accompanied by your dearest friend. Aside from Aonung's pestering, you could put up with it since you knew Neteyam would safeguard you.
However, the more time that you spent with the sea people, the more you began to suspect that it was only you who had detected something between you and Neteyam. You stopped sending hints, even if he overlooked them unintentionally, as it stung too much to persevere.
Aonung eventually stopped attempting to harass you, and you even developed a pleasant friendship with him. Tonowari, his father, had him apologize for his poor behavior; after that, he was actually fairly delightful to converse with.
This was your life now.
...
Neteyam sauntered along the coast, followed by Kiri and Lo'ak. He couldn't take his mind off you; were you safe? Was Aonung bothering you yet again? His father had chided him that he didn't need to be at your side all hours of the day, but he didn't quite understand why his father was amused when he talked about how Neteyam behaved with you. You were his best friend, of course he’s worried!
Regardless, Jake instructed him to keep an eye on his siblings, so he didn't have much of a choice in abandoning them and running to your rescue. Not with Lo'ak prowling behind him in search of trouble.
Neteyam maintained his walk, thinking to himself that he was exceedingly fortunate that you had left the clan for him, and although he wouldn't say it, he was overjoyed.
What he wasn't so thrilled with was how he'd discovered you'd grown closer to that jackass Aonung. You could talk to anybody you pleased, and he knew you were far too pure-hearted to entirely dismiss the Olo'eyktan's son, but why did he feel so bitter whenever he saw you together?
Speak of the devil.
Kiri pointed you out, but when she saw who you were with, she shuddered. “Look, it’s Y/N! And... Aonung.” She deadpanned.
Neteyam was paying little heed to what his sister was saying. No, he was paying close attention to how you were giggling at whatever Aonung said.
What the fuck?
Lo’ak nudged his shoulder. “Bro?”
Lo'ak waved his hand in front of Neteyam's face, which he instantly swept aside. What exactly did Aonung say to make you laugh that hard? You only laugh when you're with him!
Neteyam was practically seething, his fists clenched into balls, as Kiri and Lo'ak snickered to each other out of his earshot. If Kiri didn't know any better, she'd suppose Neteyam was thinking about the finest ways to strangle a (what might as well be) merman.
And truly, he was.
Lo’ak held his fist to his mouth to stifle his laughs. “Dude, are you jealous?”
Kiri placed a hand on Lo’ak’s shoulder, and looked away with a smile plastered to her face. “He totally is.”
Neteyam’s rage was now being directed towards his siblings. “What? No I’m not! Why would I be jealous?”
Lo’ak was still chortling when he pointed behind Neteyam, motioning that he should probably look. He turned around indignantly, and saw that Aonung had a hand on your arm. He was close. Too close for his liking.
And that look. Anyone could see that Aonung was flirting with you. He was maintaining direct eye contact with you, narrowing his gaze. He appeared to be listening carefully to what you were saying, but his smirk paired with his eyes passing over your lips indicated otherwise.
Neteyam just wanted to pummel his stupid, blue face in.
Kiri and Lo'ak burst out laughing as they witnessed Neteyam storm over to where the two of you were. He aggressively inserted his own hand where Aonung's own had originally been, shoving your body into his own by the shoulder. The unexpected intrusion caught you off guard.
“Oh! Neteyam!”
You beamed at his arrival right away, but Aonung frowned. Before you could enquire what Neteyam was doing, he stared daggers into Aonung's head, and hauled you away from him by your bicep. Aonung remained there stunned, staring at your back as you walked away.
“What the hell?”
Kiri and Lo'ak tripped over themselves on their way over to Aonung, howling with laughter, and Lo'ak smacked his shoulder in amusement.
“Sorry cuz, you never stood a chance!”
Aonung’s cheeks darkened deeply. He was thoroughly mortified; he had no idea you were and Neteyam were like that! (You’re not.)
...
Neteyam began to lose confidence throughout the walk once he had pulled you much further away. While you shouted at him to let you go, he inwardly cursed at himself, wondering why he had just done that.
Does he like you?
Your vehement protests about how Neteyam was causing you pain eventually ceased falling on deaf ears. His rage vanished when he realized he'd been treating you like a ragdoll for the entire walk, and he immediately felt horrible. He let go of your arm and buried his face in his hands, ashamed that he had done such a thing to you in the first place.
You rubbed your sore arm, and nudged his shoulder gently. “What’s wrong?”
He looked way too upset, and you rarely saw him like this, if ever.
“Why was Aonung looking at you like that?”
That struck you with irritation. “Are you serious? That’s what this is about?”
His eyes darkened at your words. How could it not be?
You started to raise your voice. “You cannot be for real. You’re just my friend, why are you being so overprotective? If Aonung likes me, that’s my business! Not yours!”
Neteyam snatched your wrist again, evidently upset by what you just uttered. He didn’t know what he was saying anymore. “The only person that can look at you like that is me!”
You went quiet for a time, then realization dawned on your features. “Hold up... do you like me?”
Suddenly, Neteyam’s gaze softened, and he could no longer be furious with you. “How could I not?”
He released your wrist, unsure of what to say next. When he noticed your prolonged silence, Neteyam whirled around, prepared to walk back to his home and cry his frustrations out. He was fighting back tears already; what was the point of telling you this anyway?
You gripped his shoulder and forced him to swivel around and face you. Neteyam could not cover his face, and he felt humiliated because he didn't know why he was acting in this manner. Why was he weeping over a silly look?
He was caught by surprise when you cupped his face in your hands, and wiped the stray tears away. Your irritation had completely dissipated. “You have nothing to be worried about.”
He sniffled. “Why?”
“Because I’ve liked you since forever, but I didn’t think you liked me back. There were so many mixed signals, and you never picked up on my hints, either!”
Neteyam was taken aback. He was at a loss for words.
You rolled your eyes. “Just kiss me, you big idiot.”
Your hand that was on his shoulder was now suddenly imprisoned in his grip, and he jerked you towards his body, lips crashing into yours. He pressed against you with ardor, as if you'd vanish if he didn't embrace you like you were the last Na'vi on Pandora.
Your nimble fingers found purchase in his braids. His hands slithered around your waist, drawing you flush against him, effectively deepening the kiss. He needed you so near that he could only sense your lips against his. When you would try and pull away, his desperate kisses would follow.
You feared Neteyam had forgotten you needed to breathe, because you had to roughly pull his head back by his braids to eventually get him to halt his feverish actions. The minimal bit of pigment on your lips had now smeared, a mark left by Neteyam that claimed you as his. Who the hell taught him to kiss like that?
As you both merely stared at each other, stunned, Neteyam spoke through labored breaths. “All mine?”
“I’m all yours.”
Bonus!
Lo'ak sipped his fruity iced drink, having witnessed the entire exchange from a distance. He patted Aonung's back.
“You wish that was you, huh?”
Aonung punched him.

One afternoon, Neteyam had to watch over his youngest sister. You insisted on accompanying him, and he agreed, not minding the extra help. As you played with Tuk, the thought crossed Neteyam's mind that suddenly, you might just be the prettiest girl he'd ever seen.

Neteyam sighed as he followed you and his sister. His parents had requested him to watch after her today, and you had overheard their chat. You asked Neteyam if you could accompany him because you enjoyed playing with Tuk, and he concurred. He's never been sure what his little sister liked to do, so your assistance was greatly appreciated.
Tuk squeezed your hand as you guided her towards the woods. The sun was shining brilliantly, and the foliage was soaking up the warmth. The trees were golden in hue, and you eventually found a large expanse of grass for you and Tuk to romp in.
Neteyam selected a tree to relax against, and settled comfortably while you and Tuk traveled only a little further away. He looked at you both, laughing and spinning around the woodland.
Neteyam was frightened for a moment and nearly leapt out of his seat when you lifted up Tuk to toss her into the air, but he calmed down when he saw how effortlessly you retrieved her again. He cannot help but be concerned about his siblings' welfare, but he knows you're excellent with children. You'd never do anything that would harm them.
Tuk's laugh resonated through the treetops as she pleaded with you to throw her again. She appeared to be having fun, but you suddenly realized that Neteyam must be bored sitting alone and observing.
You caught Tuk once more and gently lowered her on the grass. “Neteyam, why don’t you come here and play with us?”
He shook his head, and smiled. “I’m okay.”
You shrugged, and continued to play with his little sister.
...
You ultimately grew tired of tossing Tuk into the air, so you devised a brilliant plan.
“Tuk, why don’t I decorate your braids?”
She seemed perplexed for a moment, before you clarified that you were going to pick out some flowers to put in her hair. Her eyes sparkled at the thought, and she, of course, answered yes.
Tuk was seated in your lap as you meticulously ornamented her braids with an assortment of various, colorful flowers you had gathered. Neteyam maintained his gaze from a distance, and he began to grin to himself. He thought to himself that you were wonderful with kids, and his smile only grew even wider when Tuk gazed into her reflection in a nearby waterhole.
She giggled with delight at her enhanced appearance. “Thank you so much Y/N!”
Because she was so adorable, you pinched her cheeks.
Tuk scrunched up her nose, recoiling from the action. “Let me put flowers in your braids too!”
You agreed with a nod and sat down in front of her. You failed to notice Neteyam's intense stare at you as Tuk adorned your tresses with the leftover blossoms. The sunlight cascaded over you so sweetly that you gleamed like a gift from Eywa herself. Neteyam couldn't believe he'd never noted how stunning you were, and the feeling was further accentuated by the flowers in your hair. He massaged his burning cheeks with his palm; was he blushing?
Tuk's amusement at using you as her personal doll unabated, and the one idea orbiting Neteyam's short-circuiting mind, aside from how you looked straight out of his dreams, was how natural you were with children. Would you behave similarly with your children together, too?
Wait, what?
He had to mentally scold himself for thinking such a thing. Even though it felt improper to envisage it with you because you were only a friend, he couldn't peel the gaze of burning desire away from you. His brain begged him to suppress these feelings, but his heart and blazing cheeks revealed a different story.
His heart stopped. When you decided to turn around, you met his eyes that refused to look away. Neteyam sucked in a breath, fearful for a moment that you could see into his thoughts. He released a sigh of relief as you merely cracked a smile towards him, not knowing how he was really staring at you.
Then another terrifying thought had crossed his mind. Had he always liked you?
You veered away from Tuk to catch a glimpse of your reflection in the waterhole as Neteyam battled with himself internally. You clasped your hands together, praising Tuk on her work, and hugged her warmly. She was scooped up again and twirled around.
You sidled up to Neteyam after you had laid Tuk down, scratching the back of your neck. The sunshine from behind your figure seeped into his vision as he stared up at you through his thick lashes. He didn't mind that he could only see you.
You looked at him sheepishly. “How do I look?”
He snapped out of his reverie, and stuttered for a moment before registering that you asked him a question.
“So pretty.”
As you looked straight at him stupidly, he threw his palm over his mouth. You were both matching blushes as you were suddenly feeling blisteringly hot. Tuk giggled from behind you, her eyes narrowed at her brother.
It didn't help that she was whispering 'Neteyam's got a cruushh...'
Damn that child.
You turned around to hear what she said, and out of your peripheral vision, Neteyam lifted his fist at her, mouthing for her to quit speaking. When your gaze met hers you arched an eyebrow, but she had already closed her mouth and remained serious. She cracked an innocent smile at you.
You looked back at Neteyam, and decided that all of a sudden you had very, very important obligations to attend to at that moment.
“Well, I think I should get home now, haha!”
Neteyam stood up abruptly, laughing nervously. He was chanting in his head to speak confidently.
He stuttered instead. “Oh, me too, haha! Me and Tuk should be meeting with our parents again.”
You couldn't stop giggling uncontrollably like idiots, and while you were heading in opposite directions, you unintentionally bonked heads. He groaned in pain as he touched the tender region on his forehead, but apologized profusely when he noticed that you were also afflicted.
You couldn't bear how mortified you were, so you let out a torrent of apologies and hurried out of the woodland as swiftly as you could. You couldn't believe Neteyam had declared you were pretty!
In your wake, you left behind a trail of flowers. Neteyam discreetly grabbed and pocketed one. You know, for safekeeping.
There was just something about you.

Hey! Can you write a long one shot where Lo'ak/Neteyam is in a serious relationship with a human girl ( they are around 20 years old), and she hears Neytiri talking to Jake , saying that your relationship is impossible, bc you can't procreate. Then the reader sits alone crying bc she really wanted that to happen. Lo'ak/Neteyam finds her and comforts her. Then eywa sees how much they love each other and blesses their union with a pregnancy where the reader survives it? It would be more like a spiritual conception, it doesn't need to be anything sexual if you don't feel comfortable writing it. Mo'at or Ronal would be the ones to tell the news, since they are tsahik. Idk, I just wondered how this pregnancy/baby would be like. I even pictured Lo'ak/Neteyam laying their heads on the reader's stomach caressing and kissing it, calling the baby 'our little miracle'

Years pass, and you and Neteyam have been living together peacefully with the Metkayina clan. It has always been a dream of yours to have a family, but as a human on Pandora, you know that's not physically possible when your lover is from another species.
I'm gonna be real with you, I had zero clue how to write this. I seriously needed a couple days to mull over how this would work. Would reader pull a Bella Swan? Who knows! This is lowkey a load of bullshit! Also please keep in mind that although I'm writing this, I am a minor and chose to write this non-sexually and went with the spiritual route. I think this falls under more cute domestic scenarios overall anyway so, WHO DOESN’T WANNA SEE DAD NETEYAM???

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [02/01/23] ❞
You wrung your fingers together as you meandered along the beaches of the Awa'atlu village, contemplating mundane matters. One in particular that piqued your interest was something you had been thinking about for a considerable amount of time; a family.
You and Neteyam had been together for several years; you were both adults who had been dwelling with the Metkayina clan for the last decade or so. You'd left the Omaticaya clan with him, hoping to remain near to him wherever he traveled. You believed it was remarkable that he survived after being shot all those years ago, and since then, Neteyam has promised never to leave you.
And since then, you’ve felt like you wanted to further your relationship with him. To have a family with him. It warmed your heart to think of the way he would be with his children. Would he be like his own father, protective and caring? Strict yet present? Or would he let loose, and be carefree with them? These were the questions you ached to know the answers to.
It's not as though Neteyam was oblivious to your desires. In all honesty, he was thrilled that you wanted a family, but you two had never seriously discussed the crux of it beyond the concept itself. Perhaps it was wishful thinking on your behalf, but you sincerely hoped it would be achievable someday.
After a short while, you became bored and weary from strolling over the sand for so long. You decided to return to your humble home, which, despite its small size, contained many fond memories for you. Your ears perked up at the sound of a woman's voice before you could whisk the portiere aside.
Neytiri.
Neteyam had been waiting for you to return from your beach promenade, but when the curtain to your front door was swept away, he was greeted by the sight of Neytiri and his father instead, who had arrived moments before you. He welcomed them, intrigued as to why they were searching for him and bearing poignant expressions.
You hid beside the doorway and eavesdropped. You knew you shouldn't listen in on other people's conversations, but when your partner's mother was arguing with him inside your home, whom can criticize you for wishing to hear?
You subsequently regretted that decision because you wished you hadn't. Neytiri didn't take her time stating what she intended to say; she spoke it bluntly and firmly, as one would expect from someone of her character. She was always this way.
“Your relationship with the human girl is impossible.”
You felt your heartbeat quicken. What?
It seemed as though Neteyam had the same reaction as you (albeit unaware of your presence), as he immediately shot up from his seat.
“Now is when you choose to tell me that? You had years to disapprove of Y/N! What changed?” he was not happy.
Jake sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “We overheard you both, talking about wanting a family.”
Neytiri interjected. “It will not happen. It cannot, you are not even of the same species! She belongs with her own people!”
Why were they so adamant about this?
“She is a human girl! You cannot procreate, yet you talk of wanting a family?”
“And? Look at Kiri! She had a human mother!”
Jake placed a rough hand on his son’s shoulder. “Kiri was conceived from Grace’s avatar, Neteyam. No one has ever seen or heard of a human being giving birth to a Na’vi child, let alone be pregnant with one.”
He brushed his father’s hand off of him. “It doesn’t matter.”
You were devastated. You were aware that Neteyam's family had reservations about you, but were they always this antagonistic to your relationship? You opted not to enter your home, tears welling up in your eyes. You dashed away, but before you could truly escape, Neteyam pulled the curtain aside to leave. He spotted your sprinting figure as he grumbled over the discussion he had just seconds before.
He groaned as he raised his palm to his forehead. “Shit.”
Neteyam broke into a run to chase after you.
...
You hid behind some rocks, huddling into your body so that you could cry without anybody finding you. Well, almost. Neteyam emerged from behind one of the boulders you were situated in front of, and sat down carefully so as not to scare you off.
His eyebrows were knitted together in concern. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
You wiped your puffy eyes and sniffled. “I heard Neytiri telling you we can’t be together.”
Neteyam embraced you and stroked your hair.
You began to weep again as you sank into his touch. “I really wanted to have a family with you, but I don’t think that’s possible...”
Neteyam felt a wave of guilt surge through him. Perhaps you wouldn't have been crying if you'd fell in love with a human male instead. Nonetheless, he delicately nuzzled you, trying to soothe your pains.
“It’s okay. I don’t care what my mother says.”
When you glanced up at him, he planted a tender kiss against your lips to quell your sobs. You lamented the absence of them when Neteyam stood up and extended his hand for you to take.
You accepted it tentatively, finally putting an end to your sobs. “Where are we going?”
He gave you a soft smile. “You’ll see.”
...
Thank goodness Tsireya also taught you breathing exercises.
When Neteyam said he’d take you somewhere, you didn’t expect it to be the goddamn spirit tree.
You were underwater, squeezing Neteyam's hand as he approached the foliage. He had informed you beforehand that Eywa might hear his prayers, which is why you were here.
You maintained your grip on his hand in trepidation. Neteyam drew his braid over his shoulder, and nodded once more before attaching his queue to the tree.
You could tell he was begging Eywa to bless you both with a child. You sensed tingles across your skin as you felt the energy of the tree move through your lover, wondering whether your family's future was not completely lost after all.
Once Neteyam finished his prayer, he disconnected his queue and helped you swim back up to the surface.
...
You felt ill.
Seriously, terribly ill. You assumed you ate something unpleasant because you became queasy out of nowhere; what was wrong with you?
Neteyam voiced his concerns about the state of your health, and said that he would leave for a moment and bring back the village Tsahìk.
Ronal stepped inside your marui, and raised an eyebrow at your figure. Why did Jake Sully’s son bring her to you? “She is a human, what could I possibly do to aid her?”
Neteyam grumbled, then admitted to what he had done the few days prior. “We visited the spirit tree, and I prayed to Eywa for a baby. Now Y/N is suddenly sick, and I don’t know why!”
Ronal was taken aback for a time. She gazed at Neteyam, puzzled, then swiftly kneeled by your side. She placed her tools near your head, and you began to groan in agony, sweating from the aching in your body.
Ronal shot a glare towards Neteyam. “You, make sure nobody steps foot into this marui!”
Neteyam was a little slow in processing Ronal's order, but he promptly walked towards the entrance to maintain a watchful eye as she toiled. She spoke in Na'vi, and pressed her palm against your abdomen to interpret Eywa's will.
...
“This human girl, she is pregnant.”
You propped yourself up on your elbows, utterly astonished. Ronal had helped to relieve the cramps in your body, but that was overshadowed by the shock you and Neteyam were experiencing at the revelation of your pregnancy.
“I don’t know how this child came to be, but it is clear Eywa’s will has been told.”
You couldn’t help but intercede. “But, Jake said no human has ever been pregnant with a Na’vi child! How is this possible?”
Ronal sighed. “We do not know if this is a Na’vi child yet, but this is clearly some form of spiritual conception. We will simply have to wait and see how the pregnancy goes.”
...
This was not a normal human baby.
The more time passed, the more visible your bump became. Ronal had only alerted Neteyam's family about the pregnancy in case something went wrong with the baby. However, it was becoming increasingly impossible to conceal your body's visible baby bump. Neytiri was surprised at first because she couldn't believe you two had truly conceived a child.
The baby was developing well. To be honest, it was a little too fast for your liking, but it was fine. Aside from the occasional cramps and nausea, your health was excellent, and you were coping well with the pregnancy.
Neteyam was over the moon about your pregnancy. There were numerous occasions when he would lie with you, singing songs to your baby and wondered if they could hear him.
You hoped it couldn’t, because no offense, but his voice was awful. Neytiri’s singing genes did not pass down to Neteyam.
Your favorite moment of those instances though, aside from your lover's atrocious vocals, is when he would kiss and caress your belly while referring to your child as “our little miracle.”
On occasion, you two would dispute over the baby's gender or how much more Na'vi or human it would appear to be. You were certain that your daughter would seem more human, but Neteyam insisted that your son would undoubtedly look like a Na'vi. Furthermore, it was him who prayed for this! He essentially did all of the work!
You would argue that he’s not the pregnant one, and that you’re definitely having a daughter. No questions asked.
Bonus!
You had a son.
Everyone in the tribe was shocked when Ronal announced the pregnancy to them. A child who is both human and Na'vi? It was incomprehensible!
You were absolutely livid as you stood there, Neteyam snickering in the background. Eywa was truly a mischievous deity who relished in playing games.
Neteyam nudged your shoulder in silent laughter. “I told you we’d have a boy!”
You smacked his arm. “Oh, shut up! You weren’t even right about him looking more Na’vi!”
You two quietly bickered as Lo’ak held the infant. “Haha, I’m your uncle now! Look at us, we both have demon blood!”
He began to speak in a singsong voice, “demon baabbyy!”
The baby started wailing.
Someone seriously needed to take that child away from Lo’ak before he dropped it in the sand.

He was like no one else you had seen before.
He was a boy from the Omaticaya clan, a foreign stranger who had no business to be seeking refuge on your beaches.
After all, he was clearly suited for swinging in trees, not swimming.
You had heard of the fabled Jake Sully; the Toruk Makto, and as of right now, referred to as a great warrior by none other than Neytiri.
They had travelled a far distance to seek shelter with your people, so that their clan could be safe.
You were against allowing him and his family to hide within the Awa'atlu village. Danger would follow them, and they did not fit in with your people nor the environment.
Alas, you had no power to defy the orders of your father, Tonowari, as he was the Olo'eyktan.
Imagine your surprise when your father, not only simply allowing them to stay, also expected you and your siblings to teach them your ways.
You groaned at the thought, not wanting to spend time with these people or their children.
After their initial introduction, their eldest son Neteyam attempted to get to know you.
However, his kind demeanor towards you quickly turned sour when you made it transparently clear you wanted nothing to do with him.
‘The hell is wrong with you?’ is what Neteyam would think.
You both would want to avoid each other, but unfortunately, that’s not really possible.
He does try to be civil when he can, though. Neteyam has a backbone and won’t let anyone walk all over him, but he’s not like Lo’ak where he’ll freely start fights.
His father warned not to cause problems, and he doesn’t want him to be disappointed in him.
Your sister Tsireya had taken a liking to the younger son, Lo’ak, which meant you were stuck with teaching Neteyam.
So here you were with Tsireya, teaching the two brothers breathing exercises.
You were getting frustrated with Neteyam. His breathing wasn’t on par with your expectations, and time and time again you would smack him (lightly, of course) if he wasn’t doing it right.
“Here, do it like this!” frustrated, you placed your hands on his chest and abdomen. “Breathe like this!”
You took deep breaths through the diaphragm, then gestured your head for Neteyam to do it next.
Well, he wasn’t breathing through his chest anymore, but his heart was definitely going a mile a minute with you being so hands-on with him.
Just when you thought he was finally getting the hang of it, he smacked your hands off of him and said he can do it himself.
You tsked, and decided that if he wants to drown, he can. “Whatever, asshole.”
The next thing you tried to teach him about was riding the ilu and performing tsaheylu with it.
You honestly weren’t expecting much from him, you knew that it would take awhile before he could actually do so.
And you were right. The moment he started gliding underwater, he was thrown off the ilu’s back.
You remained in place treading the water, bursting into laughter at his falling form. This guy really doesn’t know what he’s doing 💀
When Neteyam meets with you again, his face is red with embarrassment. You can’t contain your laughter, and he has to remind himself to stay calm and not yell in a fit of rage.
A few days pass, and Tsireya and Aonung decide to go swimming with Kiri, Lo’ak, and Neteyam.
Tsireya urged for you to come along, and you agreed, because how could you say no to your sister?
As you are swimming, you have to slow down for Neteyam. You were quite irate with the fact that he couldn’t keep up, trading looks with Aonung occasionally.
As you kept swimming, Neteyam was in awe with the underwater scenery.
The schools of fish, bright coral, and the way the light refracted in the ocean made him amazed. He couldn’t believe that he had never seen something so beautiful before.
And then, he looked at you.
The scenery really tied everything together; being surrounded by a vast, blue world, you were like the centerpiece of an artfully woven painting.
It was in this moment that Neteyam really took in your beauty. He thought you were pretty since the first time he laid eyes on you.
But of course, you didn’t like him, so he quickly picked up the memo and forgot all about those thoughts of you.
Almost.
Neteyam was so distracted from daydreaming about you, that he forgot his breathing exercises instead.
You turn around to see him flailing in the water, and start panicking because he’s literally about to drown.
You quickly swam over, wrapped your arms around his waist, and hauled him up to the surface.
You start slapping his face, shaking him by the shoulders to breathe.
He’s coughing and sputtering now, muttering a thank you.
His near-drowning experience is swiftly forgotten when he processes the fact that you basically saved him.
At this point he’s making fun of you because you came to his rescue, and Tsireya and Aonung are not too far behind him either.
Angrily, you shove his head underwater, and swim away.
Later on, when it is well over eclipse, you push a stick through the sand to make stupid drawings.
Neteyam creeps up behind you, and you almost whack him with your stick when he sits down besides you.
“The hell do you want?”
He recoils at your attitude. Neteyam wanted to properly thank you for your help earlier that day, but it seemed now that all hint of gratitude left his body.
“What’s wrong with you?” is what he ends up saying.
You promptly begin to argue. Honestly, you didn’t really have a good reason for being so mean to him all the time.
In all honesty, you did find him kind of cute at first, but worrying about the safety of your clan overpowered that more than anything.
You would never admit this though. Instead, you scoop up a handful of sand, and throw it at him.
Neteyam’s patience completely snaps. He has tried to be cordial with you in the past, but that was it.
He tackles you to the ground, and fighting between the two of you ensued.
“You’re so rude for no reason!”
“What’s it to you?”
You’re both practically yelling at this point as you wrestle on the sand.
Out of sheer anger, Neteyam did something he’s never done before. Make an impulsive decision.
In response to you, he blurted out that he likes you, but you’re such a massive asshole to him that it makes him furious!
You aren’t any smarter than him, and reply with the exact same confession.
You both paused.
Neteyam was leaning over you, hands by either side of your head. All his anger had disappeared. Was this guy smiling??
Your face flushed with embarrassment that you had actually admitted that to him. You wanted the sand beneath you to swallow you whole.
You tried to back up, but found yourself trapped between Neteyam and, well... the sand.
Your about to start yelling again when he places a featherlight kiss against your lips, and that’s when your face erupts into a violent blush.
You can’t hide your face from him, which makes him all the more amused.
“Okay, fine. I guess you’re kind of cute...” you trailed off.
He let out a toothy grin, sharp canines on display. “I always thought you were.”
Okay, now you really wanted to be six feet underground.

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [06/01/23] ❞
Ever since that fateful incident with the Metkayina clan, Neteyam had grown more attached to you than ever.
You two had always shared a bond that transcended beyond friendship. You yearned for one another, longing for affectionate touches and the chance to lie together in the tranquility of eclipse. To talk for hours on end, whispering sweet nothings in each other's ears.
Those feelings were wrenched out from you both only when he was on the threshold of death, as he drew what you feared was his last breath. You couldn't understand why the love of your life was in your arms, blood pooling from the chest where his heart beat so fervently for you. But, now it would no longer beat at all.
If it weren't for his miraculous survival that dreadful day, you'd swear Eywa was cruel. The feelings you exchanged hung like a heavy weight in the atmosphere between you two, creating tension that could be pierced with a knife. You were hesitant to talk about what you admitted to him, but you tried nonetheless.
Neteyam sobbed into your chest for the first time in a long time, confessing that he was afraid he would never receive the chance to be with you. That as he lived through Eywa, you'd carry on without him and eventually discover a new love. He was however here now, and you weren't going to give him up.
...
When the two of you had come of age, you were rattled by the anxiety that had accumulated in the pit of your stomach. You adored Neteyam, but the prospect of mating with him for the first time made you apprehensive. It left you queasy to be so exposed to him, laid bare without even a single barrier to safeguard you. Neteyam, on the other hand, assured you that he loved you and longed to explore every side of you.
Neteyam purred in your ear with that raspy voice you so loved when the two of you were finally bonded together. He wanted you to be his wife. To cherish and hold you for the rest of his days, and to wake up next to you and see your sleepy face as you roused from your slumber. His affection for you was pure, and it melted your heart.
Of course you said yes, a smile gracing your lips.
...
Neteyam was the sweetest husband you could have ever asked for.
When you awoke, you were snuggled against him, your daughter nestled between the two of your bodies. Neteyam opened an eye, and you grinned as you noted the shadows under his eyes. Your daughter, Ingayn, was a nightmare to get to sleep, and that much was evident on your husband’s face. Laying like this, you were the perfect picture of a family amidst the placid buzz of the morning.
Neteyam caressed your temples with the back of his knuckles, and travelled to your cheeks, tucking a braid behind your ear. Even after years of marriage, you could never get enough of his gentle and loving touches.
You swung an arm over your daughter, searching fingertips skimming against the long-healed bullet wound on Neteyam's rigid chest. Your eyes darted from the scar to his gaze, and he sighed into your palm.
“It feels like so long ago.”
In response, you hummed and traced the shape of his lips. You leant forwards to kiss them as your fingers shifted to rest under his chin. Neteyam smiled into your embrace, and it induced you to feel intoxicated. You could spend the entire day in bed with your gorgeous husband if your duties permitted it, but you knew you had tasks to finish.
Ingayn yawned, and sat up to discover you and Neteyam exchanging loving kisses.
“Ewww, gross!”
She struck her father across the face with the makeshift pillow under you. Neteyam yanked the pillow from her grasp, and you knew Ingayn was absolutely screwed.
She burst into wild giggles as Neteyam snatched her up, and tickle attacked her. You chuckled at the action, and pinched her cheeks when Neteyam pulled away.
He brushed one last chaste kiss against your lips, sighing contentedly. “Okay, I have duties to attend to. I’ll see you later, love.”
You picked up your daughter, and smiled at him. “Have fun.”
Neteyam could only grumble. “Fun is when I’m with you.”
He climbed out of bed reluctantly, and kissed his daughter on the forehead before departing. Knowing that every morning would resemble this made your heart soar. How did you become so lucky?

you're currently carrying 'avatar x reader' with your absolutely amazing works, so i have another request for you, love, if that's alright <33
no idea how to properly start this, but basically neteyam and y/n are a thing- and even though y/n is like super grateful for his protection, lately she's been feeling just like another of his many responsibilities, not a partner. so they grow a bit distant, to that point where even his family notices, and when they try to talk it out they get into an argument. pretty much angst (because i love it👹👹👹) !!!!!!!!!!!!! and it's totally up to you if it ends with fluff or angst. oh and i thought maybe it could take place when they arrive to the metkayina clan, because it would mean y/n left everything behind just for neteyam (and his amazing family ofc🤞🤞🤞), but the way he begun to treat her, makes her think she might regret that decision= more aNGST‼️‼️but that's up to you- whatever you're more comfortable with :)) okay, byeee!!! have a nice day!!!

Ever since you left the Omaticaya clan for your boyfriend, you’ve felt suffocated by his overprotective nature. You’re his partner, not just another one of his responsibilities or trouble-seeking siblings. And it hurts, knowing that he treats you like you are less his mate than burden. You think you might regret leaving your home for him.

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [08/01/23] ❞
You and Neteyam have been dating. For a long time, actually.
You grew up together, and the tight friendship you built inevitably developed into feelings of attraction. You were anticipated to be mated to one another, and the Sully family cherished you.
Jake used to torment his son before you began dating. He'd make remarks about how you two reminded him of him and Neytiri, and how Neteyam had to entice you with the superb wooing genes he inherited from him. Neytiri would slap him on the back of the head and order him to be quiet. However, she couldn't argue with Jake's teasing. A lovely girl like yourself resembled a second daughter to her; if her son didn't put a ring on it, she would drag him by the ear.
You felt your throat constrict and your eyes burn with tears the day Neteyam informed you Jake was forcing his family to pick up and move. How were you supposed to just carry on and forget about your relationship?
You couldn't. As a result, you left with him. You would fly for a thousand days on an Ikran, cross vast oceans, and abandon your home a million times more for Neteyam and his family. Neteyam considered himself extremely fortunate to have you.
However, after finally settling in with the Metkayina, you began to sense a twinge of foreboding. You felt homesick, and you knew that relocating to a whole new clan would be difficult. Neteyam appeared to be taking it the hardest though, so you did not want to complain.
You noted how his shoulders tensed more frequently, or how he wore a faint grimace when alone. You were outsiders in this place, and they treated you as such. Neteyam couldn't help but be uptight whenever the olo'eyktan's son harassed his siblings, but he lost his composure when he sought to bother you.
Or, more accurately, flirted with you. Neteyam had a reputation for being a jealous boyfriend. You and his family were fully cognizant of this, but to the casual onlooker, he always appeared calm and collected. When Aonung penetrated your personal space, you recognized how Neteyam would surreptitiously linger nearby, or extended an arm around you. It drove him insane.
When he first started acting that way, you would coo at him and envelop him in your embrace while calling him sweet. You believed his protectiveness over you was adorable, and it was flattering to say the least. Neteyam, on the other hand, had nothing to be concerned about. You were solely interested in him.
...
Regardless of your unconditional affection, it seemed that the more Neteyam stayed in the Awa'atlu village, the more awful he grew.
Irrespective of Aonung's unwanted attention (which had long since faded), nothing made Neteyam happy anymore. When you tried to kiss him, he would either accept it reluctantly or brush you away. If you wished to spend time with him, he would acquiesce, but would eventually talk about his siblings or babysit. Nonetheless, he would be fiercely protective of where you went or what you did.
You couldn't condemn Neteyam for being nervous and tense all the time, but it seemed that no matter what difficulties you were encountering in your relationship, he began to treat you as if you were just another one of his trouble-making siblings. Another chore added to his long list of responsibilities.
Neteyam’s protection used to be charming, but it was now just smothering. It seemed like you were so distant from your boyfriend, yet also so close to him. You began feeling less like his partner, yet it also caused you to feel guilty when you were emotional in front of him. You knew you had no right to complain because you left the Omaticaya clan by your own volition. How could you grumble about it when your lover was enduring greater struggles?
This was a recipe for disaster.
...
You no longer felt comfortable communicating your concerns to your boyfriend. Each time you sought to bring up your reservations about how Neteyam was treating you, he was too preoccupied with his own life to give much heed to your conversation or relationship.
You eventually gave up on your efforts to work it out. If he were to behave distant from you, you would respond with the same energy. You two gradually drifted away, the gulf between you expanding by the day. Neteyam's family became quite alarmed when they noticed how seldom you two were interacting nowadays.
Jake and Neytiri encouraged Neteyam to try to spend some quality time with you again, and that he could set his other obligations aside. They'd maintain a close eye on their other children so Neteyam wouldn't have to fret about them.
He agreed begrudgingly, unable to say no to his parents. You were thrilled when he sought you out for a casual date, the first in a long time. There was a nagging whisper in the rear of your mind that gnawed at you, warning you he just wasn't the same, but you dismissed it. He'd come to find you, hadn't he?
...
You were deflated throughout the duration of your date. The longer time passed, the more you could feel the ominous mood rattling deep in your bones. During your time together, all Neteyam could think about was how much this move had stressed him out, and now he had to be concerned about paying you attention as well. It was apparent from his expression that he was not enjoying himself.
You couldn’t take it anymore.
You snapped at his indifferent attitude. “Can you stop zoning out and actually listen to me for once?”
If Neteyam was trying to fake a smile before, he definitely wasn’t anymore. “What do you mean? This whole entire date I’ve been only listening to you!”
You scoffed at this. His mind was in a whole other place for the entire duration of it. “You never have time for me anymore, and when you do, you act like I’m some burden on your to do list!”
Neteyam felt his blood go hot. Before he could stop himself, he began to yell. “It’s not my fault I can’t give you attention all the time! My parent’s are always putting pressure on me to make sure everyone’s looked after and well behaved, including you!”
Then, his voice dropped to a cruel whisper. “Do you think I wanted to go on this date?”
That was the juncture at which you felt so enraged that you couldn't prevent the tears from cascading down your flaming cheeks. Neteyam's countenance didn't alter in response to your outburst, which only served to make you angrier.
You practically screamed at him. “You’re such a dickhead! You’ve changed, Neteyam.” You began sobbing.
“The only reason I’m mad isn’t because you don’t give me enough attention, it’s because every time we’re together you completely neglect my feelings! You make everything about you!”
He remained still as you wiped your angry tears away, then jutted a finger against his chest. “For someone who acts like they’re always looking after everyone else, you’re so incredibly selfish with me.”
In the face of your harsh comments, Neteyam remained silent and unmoving. He was speechless; he didn't know what to say. The rage was still coursing through his veins, but all he could do was hearken to your never-ending shouts.
Your voice dropped an octave, and you glared into his eyes which you once looked so fondly into. “I’m not another responsibility of yours. I regret ever following you here. If I knew you’d turn out like this, I would’ve saved myself the heartache and found a new partner instead of leaving everything behind for someone that won’t even give me the time of day. You could at least try to act happy to be around me.”
That made his heart break, and he could feel the tears beginning to gather in his eyes too. He couldn’t believe you would have ever found it in you to say that to him. “Fine, do what you want. I tried to spend time with you, and you turned it into an argument.”
He pivoted on his heel, and stormed away from you on the threshold of tears. When he was far enough away, he let the tears flow.
Your voice carried from halfway across the beach. “Fine then, if you want me so bad, I guess I’ll go!”
You, too, turned your back on him and dashed away to find somewhere to cry privately. You felt like such a child.
...
It was growing dark, and eclipse was approaching.
You still hadn’t returned to the marui you shared with the Sully family, and Jake was beginning to get worried. “Where’s Y/N?”
That question was obviously directed towards Neteyam, but he remained sulking instead of replying.
Neytiri’s patience was thinning with her son’s out of character behavior. “That girl doesn’t know her way around the Awa’atlu village. She could be lost!”
Jake rubbed the bridge of his nose, glancing at the sky. He shared Neytiri’s sentiment, as his son still wasn’t talking. What the hell happened on your date?
Although Neteyam appeared furious, he was actually feeling quite guilty. Your reality check tugged at his heartstrings, and now you could be injured, or worse, lost, because he told you to be. He sprung from his seat and raced out the marui, unable to sit still any longer.
Jake's shouts for his son to return at that instant went unfulfilled. Even if Neteyam was angry with you, he was still afraid that something awful would happen, and he'd never forgive himself if it did.
Neteyam called your name as he ran throughout the village. However, no matter how much terrain he covered, or how many times he bellowed your name into the frigid night air, your voice did not respond. He was sweating nervously now, terrified about not being able to locate you. What if he never found you?
Those fears, however, were quickly dispelled into the wind whipping behind him as he hurried towards the sound of sniffling behind a nearby tree. Neteyam scratched the back of his neck, unsure what to do. As he drew near to your weeping figure, he stepped on and snapped a twig, capturing your attention.
You spun around to investigate the source of the noise, only to discover that it was your idiot boyfriend. Neteyam urged you to relax, then sighed and settled besides you.
Before you could protest against him taking a seat next to you, he hugged you tightly and apologized.
“I’m sorry. I’m the way I am right now because I don’t want anything bad happening to you, or my siblings. I can’t imagine ever losing you.”
You let your rage disappear, leaning into his embrace as he continued to talk.
“I know I’ve been a real idiot lately, and I’ll try to show up more in our relationship. My personal problems aren’t your fault.”
Your prior resentment faded as he brushed your tears away with his thumb, and you buried your face in his chest, allowing your arms to wrap around his midriff.
“I’m sorry for saying I wished I stayed behind and found someone new. That was a lie, I’d never be able to move on.”
Neteyam felt his chest tighten at your words, and merely hugged you tighter. “I’ll never hurt you again.”

“He saved me, he really did!”
As Lo'ak recounted his story, the young Na'vi were huddled in a circle. Rotxo and Aonung exchanged glances; everyone appeared concerned about him. Payakan was a murderer, and Lo'ak was merely extraordinarily fortunate to be alive.
“Kiri, you believe me, right?”
She remained silent and averted her gaze away from his. “They know this place better than we do.”
Tsireya shook her head. “Lo’ak, please don’t go looking for Payakan. You’ll be killed!”
“Fine, don’t believe me! I know what I saw!” Lo'ak abruptly rose up, preparing to storm away from the group.
You seized his forearm to keep him from fleeing. Lo'ak reached behind his shoulder to yank his arm away from you; he didn’t need to hear he was crazy from you, too. Before he could tear his arm away, he stiffened in place as you spoke.
“I believe you.”
Everyone turned to gawk at you, some with their jaws gaping, others silently snickering. You knew full well the story of Payakan, so why were you supporting this? You withdrew your arm and smiled warmly at Lo’ak. His head hung low, concealing the grin upon his lips. Aonung murmured to Rotxo about how you have a crush, and you shot him a death stare. Aonung stopped his teasing, but Lo'ak didn't seem to notice.
“Y/N, why would you believe him? You shouldn’t encourage it!”
You gave Tsireya a frown. “And what if he’s telling the truth?”
Everyone was deafeningly hushed as you argued against her. You scoffed at them all when they had nothing left to say, and walked away accompanied by Lo'ak. He thanked you quietly for trusting him.
To be truthful, you'd heard the tales about how dangerous Payakan was. You grew up with these people, after all. Although you believed in Lo'ak, you had your reservations; deep down, you knew the main reason why you wanted to trust his words was because you'd been admiring him since he first arrived in your village. You were just too timid to approach Lo’ak, so can anyone fault you for using this as an opportunity?
“Y/N, come with me. I’ll introduce you to Payakan.”
You smiled. “I’d love that.”
...
“This way, I know Payakan is around here!”
Lo'ak clasped your hand in his and guided you to the water. You might have been second-guessing your judgment at this point; you claimed you believed in him, but what if Payakan was a tulkun with exceptional manipulation abilities? Is that even feasible?
You dove into the water and began swimming after Lo'ak as he went further out into the ocean, putting your daydreaming to a halt. Once you had reached decently open waters beyond the reef, Lo'ak called for Payakan. You were nervous about what lay ahead of you, but you were also intrigued.
After what seemed like a few minutes of silence, you laid a hand on Lo'ak's shoulder.
“I don’t think he’s--”
With a yelp, you were cut off as something elevated your body above the surface of the water; a gigantic fin. You clutched it for support, and Lo'ak immediately swam besides your knees so you could rest a palm on his shoulder. He chuckled, and you swirled your feet in the water after the tulkun plateaued. Payakan whistled, and his genial nature enthralled you.
You cocked your head towards Lo'ak, a playful smirk on your lips. “Can we swim with him?”
Lo'ak concurred, beaming from ear to ear. You intertwined your fingers with his, your other hand gripping Payakan as he plunged underwater. You tried not to tumble off as the sheer force of the act caused you to hover above his fin, but Lo'ak was there to hold you in position.
You shifted into a horizontal position once you were settled in the water to enable you to swim comfortably. Lo'ak hooked his fist above yours on the edge of Payakan's fin, keeping your fingers entwined, so that you could swim in tandem with one another. The action made you flush, and you were grateful that the water obscured his vision somewhat.
Lo'ak was captivated by you as you glided across the expansive aquatic panorama. Although he had swum beyond the reef before, he had never witnessed it like this, with you at his side, giggling besides him as if it were nobody's business. It was in this snapshot of time that he saw you as vividly as ever; amongst the pulsing rhythm of the sea, his heartbeat drummed in his ears at the sight of you, realizing that the reason you appeared so delighted was because of him.
He captured a mental image of you and preserved it as a memory that only he would behold. Just for him, no one else.
With his hands, he signed ‘you’re pretty’.
God, he must be insane, he thinks. Your body froze as you registered what he had signed, and before you could react, Payakan sped through the water, nearly knocking you off your feet. In a frenzy, Lo'ak draped an arm across your back, clutching your arm to secure you against him. You could feel the hammering of his heartbeat against you, being so near to his chest.
Taking a peek at his panicked expression, you realized you could see a lot from this viewpoint. You noted the curvature of his lips, the slant of his nose, and the acuteness of his jawline, for instance. You subconsciously leant towards his face, entranced by his features.
Lo'ak inclined his head to peer at you, curious as to what you were doing. He was taken aback by your unexpected closeness and immediately felt bashful. Were you planning on kissing him? He'd never kissed anyone before!
Before you closed the distance between you both, you immediately turned your head away from him, snickering to yourself as he nearly took the bait. When you looked over your shoulder, Lo’ak appeared stunned. Before you could sign that his expression looked like a turtapede, he grabbed you by the cheeks (gently, of course), and captured your lips in a longing kiss. Immediately, Payakan soughed, and threw Lo’ak off his fin.
You slapped your palm over your mouth, startled and amused, as he swam after you and Payakan. The tulkun surged to the surface of the ocean, and Lo'ak bobbed out of the saltwater, shaking the brine from out his braids. You turned to sit upright, and held something akin to mirth in your gaze as you grasped your abdomen in a fit of laughter. Lo'ak shot a mischievous sneer in Payakan's direction, huffing as he rolled his eyes. Cockblocker.
“Well, he’s definitely a killer, alright!”
He groaned in embarrassment. “More like you. If I died, it’d be your fault.”
Although his sentence appeared stern and somber, the crinkle of his eyes and curl of his lips conveyed a different narrative, betraying the meaning of his words. How had he not previously fallen in love with you? Maybe the feeling was always there, lying torpid like a dormant volcano, suddenly stirred awake by you.
“Oh? I’m the death of you?”
‘You don’t even know,’ is all he could think.

hiii, darling :)) i've got a neteyam x fem!reader request, if that's okay!! it's pretty much pure fluff- basically y/n has really strict parents, so one night, when she sneaks out to see neteyam in the forest, he's surprised, asking about her parents and what they might do if they find out she did such a thing. but y/n's fed up with her parents, because after all, she's still young and should enjoy her life at least a little bit, so she bursts, blabbering about how she doesn't care what her parents think and that she can do whatever she wants- the two of them start messing with each other, just running around and causing one another to trip and stuff.. i kinda want it to end with y/n and neteyam kissing, but idk if it should be because y/n's all like "i can do whatever i want" and then kisses neteyam to prove her point (even though she actually likes him) or once again y/n saying all that and neteyam teasing her, basically provoking her to kiss him???!?!?!?! does that make sense?!?!??!? hopefully- obviously they like each other and all that, but the ending is on you :pp okay, thank you and byeeee !!

You are fed up with your parent’s overprotective nature. You’ve had more arguments than you can count with them about letting you enjoy your youth for once; like always, they ignore you, and tell you they don’t need to reason with you about their parenting decisions. So, you take matters into your own hands, and possibly Neteyam, too.
AHH THIS IS SUCH A CUTE REQUEST!! as soon as you said they'd run around I was pissing myself of laughter cause imagine two random teenagers going crazy in a forest, especially NETEYAM 💀💀 that boy has barely any sense of adventure in him, could you imagine if someone like Jake or Lo'ak saw him just like,,, running like a crazy person, smacking into trees, and tripping over shit?? 😭😭 As I wrote this it started out super cute and somehow ended up heated idk how 💀 I accidentally wrote this with a twist too LMAO

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [29/12/22] ❞
You leapt from branch to branch, taking care not to make a sound. It was eclipse, and you were idly wandering through the woodland.
Now, that's typically quite dangerous, and knowing your parents, they'd slash your eyeballs out for defying their demands for you to remain at home. So, what was your motivation for doing this? Because your parents had a stick that was perpetually stuck up their asses, and they never allowed you to live your life to it’s fullest potential. You were tired of it, and concluded that if you weren't going to acquire their approval, you'd give it to yourself.
You couldn't comprehend why your parents believed the forest was so perilous. Pandora was breathtaking during the eclipse, with the foliage illuminated in dazzling, vibrant blues and purples. Your breath caught in your throat as you soaked in the scenery; of course, you'd seen how the forest transformed at night before, but never from outside the safety of your own home.
You descended from one of the branches and landed on solid ground. The grassland lit up purple with each stride you took, and you were mesmerized. You followed a path of royal blue wildflowers, and ran your palms along the bark of the trees to feel their vitality. You swept aside the lavender fronds that were festooned around your body to fully appreciate the landscape before you.
You stumbled into something hard as you continued to marvel in adulation at the natural beauty surrounding you. When you looked up, a blue chest obstructed your vision. For a brief moment, you were terrified that your father had come after you.
When you discovered it was simply Neteyam, you heaved a sigh of relief. He emitted a surprised gasp and backpedaled from you, his cheeks flaming. He had no intention of being that close to you.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?”
Neteyam was the eldest son of Neytiri, a long time friend of your parents. He was someone you grew up with, but you found yourself yearning for him as the years progressed.
You were fiddling with your hair nervously, having not intended to run into him. “I snuck out. I wanted to see the forest.”
He nodded in understanding, yet seemed apprehensive. “But, where are your parents? Wouldn’t they be mad you did that?”
Your expression immediately turned sour. “I don’t need you also telling me to stay home until the day I die.”
You turned on your heel to leave, but Neteyam quickly grasped your forearm and sputtered out a string of apologies.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. I just don’t want you getting in trouble with your family...”
Neteyam was always a conscientious son and worked hard to avoid causing difficulties for his parents. You were envious of him, since despite the fact that you were a well-behaved child, he had so much freedom that he didn't even use that you weren't permitted to have. It irritated you even more that he seemed more concerned with what your parents had to say than with how you felt imprisoned at home. As if he'd ever understand your plight.
You snapped. “I don’t care what my parents think! I’m young, Neteyam. I can do what I want, and my parent’s can’t say a damn thing about it! Just stay out of it!”
He remained silent until you finished. You were panting heavily after you concluded your rant.
“I didn’t know you felt that way...”
“No, of course you didn’t! Your parents let you do whatever you want!”
That struck him deeply. It was true; Neteyam knew he possessed all of this freedom, but what you didn't know was that he was always so preoccupied with looking after his siblings and trying to make his father proud, that he squandered all the time he could've devoted to relishing in his youth. Neteyam said to himself, 'screw this,' and resolved to be daring for a change.
“Then why don’t I share it with you?”
You were baffled. “What?”
He snatched your hand and pulled you along the trail. As he dragged you towards a meadow dotted with a few trees here and there, you forgot all about your rage as it was swapped for curiosity. He turned to face you and clasped both of your hands in his, stepping backwards into the clearing's heart.
You raised your eyebrow. “What are you doing?”
He grinned. “Letting you enjoy yourself.”
Before you could question what he was referring to, you were jerked forwards as he drew you into him, whirling around in a dance-like motion. As Neteyam twirled you about, your laughter reverberated through the trees.
He was never a good dancer.
You stumbled over his foot and tumbled onto your backside as he spun you against his body to bend you against by the grass. You inadvertently seized his arm when reaching for the nearest thing to you, forcing him to collapse on top of you.
Both of you exploded into laughter.
“You’re so bad at this!”
He looked at you from underneath him. “Why don’t you try, huh? Spinning people is hard!”
You shoved him away from you, getting back up. “No it’s not! Look, come here. I’ll do it way better.”
You took Neteyam's hand in yours, and as you spun him to curl into your body, you thwacked his head against a tree instead. You gasped, and instantly knelt besides him to cradle his face.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”
You examined his face for injuries. Neteyam suspected your grip was much more lethal than the tree, because the way you were manhandling him was practically crushing his skull in. Through squished cheeks, he said he was fine.
With your undivided attention on him, he thought you were cute. He always did. He should hurl himself into a tree more often, he thinks. In the midst of his fantasizing, he hadn’t realized how close you had gotten to his face. This did not go unnoticed by you, as he began to tremble under you touch. You shifted your gaze away from his forehead, and redirected it between his own and his very, very kissable lips.
You coughed awkwardly, immediately standing up. “You’re such a baby, that was nothing.”
He pointed an accusing finger at you. “You weren’t the one getting slammed against a tree! Who’s the better dancer now?”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh, please. I bet it didn’t even hurt!”
He was standing up now, and towered over you. “What, you wanna try?”
For a brief moment, you looked at him, puzzled, before he shoved you against the tree, trapping you between it and him. He had one fist above your head, and the other gripped the trunk besides your hip. You needed a moment to gather yourself, but it was useless when you registered your position.
“You know, you should definitely be getting home now. I bet your parents are worried.”
You groaned. “This again? I told you, I can do what I want! Besides, I’m with you, what could possibly be so dangerous about that?”
Something akin to rakishness glinted in his eyes. “What makes you say that?”
You laughed to yourself. “You’re such a goody-two-shoes, Neteyam. You’re the least of my worries.”
He neared closer to your lips, maintaining eye contact. “Are you forgetting what position you’re in right now, Y/N?”
His attempt to be cool only made you giggle. That was so unlike him. “What, you’re going to whisk me away into the sunset and ferociously make out with me?”
You secretly hoped he would. The thought also crossed your mind that it’d be a massive fuck you! to your parents, because after all, they didn’t want you talking to boys.
“Who’s to say I won’t kiss you?”
Your jaw dropped, but you couldn’t look away. You were both bewitched yet shocked. “You wouldn’t.”
Where did this newfound confidence come from? Neteyam was never this way! If your parents found out what you did in your little rendezvous with him, they would murder you first, then his family!
“I don’t know, if they saw us right now, they’d probably think I’m a bad influence to you.”
“You don’t influence me at all. I told you, I do what I want.”
That provoked him. Immediately, he gripped your chin and tilted your head up to properly face him. One hand rested on your waist, while the other shifted to grasp your cheeks firmly. Before you could say anything, he captured your parted lips in a searing, almost burning kiss, as his mouth moved in frenzied rhythm with yours. Neteyam practically stole all the air out of your lungs, gasping when he withdrew from you for a moment to breathe.
You pressed the backside of your hand to your lips, inhaling deeply. You held his necklace, unsure of where else to put your hands, trembling as you struggled to process what had just transpired.
You couldn’t meet his gaze. “Why did you do that?”
Neteyam wasn't sure what he was striving to accomplish, but it felt good to do something impulsive for once. It was something he wanted to do. You telling him that he was too perfectly behaved to do anything mischievous, worthy of your parents' condemnation, stirred something within him; he wanted to live a little. To discover the thrill of life within you.
“Guess I’m not such a goody-two-shoes anymore, huh?”
He was beaming again, as if he hadn't just kissed you to death. You couldn't believe that this was the same Neteyam you grew up with, had a crush on for years, and who had never caused anyone any trouble.
“Y/N, I really like you.”
Your fingers were still hooked to his necklace, slowly drawing him closer to you again.
“I guess... I like you too.”
Neteyam's face lit up, and this time he kissed you tenderly and lovingly. Although it was a striking contrast to the other heated, frenetic kiss he had given you, this one intended to demonstrate how much his heart truly adored you. He soon wrapped his arms around your hips and hoisted you up, spinning you around the grassy clearing. You grasped his shoulders fearfully, yelling at him to put you down, but he continued to chuckle.
Maybe you should sneak out more often.

hi lovey 🫶 i was thinking about another lo’ak idea for a request and this is what i came up with! so as we know, the sully family had to learn sign language while living with the metkayina clan.. so i was thinking the reader would be metkayina and would take it upon themself to help teach them (at this time the sully’s know certain phrases) and lo’ak is drawn to the reader and asks for private lessons but in actuality he’s pretty good with signing so the reader is like “ur already pretty good but ig so 🤷” and in that lesson lo’ak kind of makes his feelings clear and asks to learn how to say something like “you’re ethereal” and once he learns, he signs it to the reader? idk i just love how you write lo’ak so i just thought of anything really 🤭

You caught the eye of Jake Sully’s second son, and he has made it a point to try and woo you. When you try and teach his family the way your clan communicates underwater, he asks for private lessons, knowing full well he has already excelled in sign language far beyond his siblings. A few more lessons couldn’t hurt, right?
Your requests are always such a delight to see :) Lo’ak tryna finesse the reader into private tutoring sessions just to spend time with them is such a Lo’ak thing to do lol ALSO YOU’LL NOTICE THAT IVE TAKEN A LIKING TO ADDING A BONUS TO THESE

Ever since the Sully family arrived at your doorstep seeking asylum, your father, Tonowari, had entrusted you with teaching the children your ways so that they were not entirely useless.
You did not appear to mind. When you locked eyes with Toruk Makto's youngest son, he captivated you. He was considerably different from your people, with golden eyes, darker skin, and even being a half dream walker! It was alluring, even if your brother didn't find Lo'ak's unique traits as attractive as you did.
You brushed your burgeoning feelings aside so you could do an excellent job of showing him your ways of life. Tsireya, your sister, had previously taught the Sullys about breathing techniques and diving, but you still stepped in whenever you could. You would've been more involved in the lessons if you weren't so timid around Lo'ak.
He figured you didn't like him as much as he liked you, which stung a little. However, that did not deter him. No, he was determined to get your love! (Little did he know.)
During one of your lessons with Tsireya and the Sullys, you were discussing how you employed sign language to communicate underwater. Of course, you were as far away from Lo'ak as possible to avoid becoming a blundering fool.
The Sullys certainly understood a few basic phrases, but you thought it would be incredibly beneficial in the long run if they knew it fluently because it could save their lives one day. You never know what sea creature you'll have to converse with!
By the end of the lesson, you were eager to get out of the water and rush home so you wouldn't have to interact with Lo'ak; you couldn't stop stuttering whenever you were near him! Eywa, on the other hand, had other plans for you.
Lo'ak softly tapped on your shoulder before you could depart, and you could already feel the tips of your ears burn from the contact. Lo'ak didn't notice, but that didn't matter because he was plotting something. One that he believed was brilliant.
He smiled at you. God, his smile was lethal. “Can I get more lessons with you? I need to work on my sign language a bit more.”
He scratched the nape of his neck shyly, clearly hoping for you to say yes.
You sighed, unable to say no when it’s him. “Okay, sure. We can do some private lessons aside from the main ones.”
Lo'ak cheered inside his head. What you didn't know was that he was already pretty proficient in sign language, and that his request for additional lessons was only a pretext to spend more time with you. Others called that manipulation, he called it chasing his dreams.
...
It was difficult for you to concentrate on teaching him at first. He was so attentive to everything you said that it made you feel so self-conscious! You'd take notice to the way he looked with his hair down, or how mesmerizing his eyes were every time you tried to teach him new terms. You could lose yourself in them for hours.
Snap out of it!
You'd think he was aware of the influence he had on you, because every time you'd lose concentration from gazing at him, he'd simply smile. Maybe your eyes were playing tricks on you, but you swore his cheeks reddened when you stared at him. What was he blushing about? He's the one who makes direct eye contact with you every time you speak!
...
You felt foolish. You were foolish.
After a few days, you realised Lo'ak had duped you into thinking he needed the extra support. In your opinion, his acting skills when feigning to not understand what a phrase meant were atrocious. When you confronted him with the fact that he was already pretty fluent, he sulked.
“I’m still not sure if I’m doing it right, though. Just a few more lessons, pleaase?”
He was going to be the death of you. “You’re already pretty good, but I guess it won’t hurt to help build your confidence more.”
Lo’ak grinned, but you could feel your palms getting sweaty at even the mere thought of having prolonged interactions with him.
...
Here you were, sitting on the beach with Lo’ak as he manipulated you into weeks worth of lessons with his stupidly gorgeous puppy dog eyes. Again.
You improved your interactions with him, this time concealing the effect he had on you. You shook your head, ignoring those wandering thoughts and concentrated on his lesson.
“Okay, show me something you’ve learned.”
Lo’ak beamed, and signed with his hands, “Y/N, I want you.”
Okay, you lied. You certainly did not grasp the capacity to conceal his effect on you. He had this smug look on his face once you registered what he had signed, while you fanned your heated cheeks, claiming it was simply the weather. You concluded he was having difficulty asking for something since 'I want you' sounded a little broken.
Yeah, that’s all there is to it.
You laughed nervously. “You definitely still need to work on your sign language. You didn’t even finish your phrase!”
Lo'ak grumbled. From your perspective , it appeared that he did so because he did not accurately sign what he meant to express. But really, Lo'ak was particularly annoyed because you didn't pick up on his blatant hint.
He recollected himself. “Okay, how about this. How do I say you’re ethereal?”
Compliments. That’s a new one. Nonetheless, you showed him how to sign it.
“You’re ethereal is a little bit hard though, so you’d need a bit of practice with the hand movements for that.”
Lo’ak nodded, very focused on the motions of your fingers.
...
You were disappointed to realise that this was your final private lesson with Lo'ak. You were standing near his marui, too indolent to enter the water. Lo'ak had finally mastered sign language, and you were overjoyed to know you were the reason for it. You requested him to show you some phrases right before you concluded your lesson to ensure he sounded like a true Metkayina.
“Okay. What’s something you’re confident you can say?”
Lo’ak was incredibly anxious. With shaky hands, he signed, “you’re ethereal, and I want you to be mine.”
If Eywa could read your thoughts, you wished she’d take a shovel and beat you six feet beneath the sand. Your cheeks were impossibly dark, and you knew what Lo’ak signed couldn’t have been a mistake. Not with those difficult hand movements.
Curse you for being so stupid. You chastised yourself in your mind for honestly thinking his sign language was broken weeks prior. His skills were perfect, you were just too oblivious to realize that he was saying that he wanted you!
Lo'ak sat there patiently, gazing at your immobilised form. His self-assurance was eroding as you sat there, unresponsive. You coughed sheepishly, your cheeks still blazing, before he could retract his statement.
“You’re ethereal too.”
He felt his entire body heat up. He was not expecting you to sign it back, and now you were both sitting there like startled morons, looking like you had been baking in the heat for hours. You were neither smooth nor subtle in your flirting.
“So you don’t hate me?”
That shook you out of your daze. “What?”
“It’s just that, before these lessons you avoided me all the time. I thought you didn’t like me back.”
Your jaw was on the floor. All shyness disappearing, you practically bellowing across the beach. “Since when? I’ve liked you for weeks!”
“Oh.”
Ensue silence.
Lo'ak had to conceal his visage due to the blush on his cheeks. He could try to hide his face from you, but he couldn't prevent his tail from swishing excitedly. You giggled at his reaction, but the embarrassment of how direct you were hit you a moment later.
You two exchanged glances before laughing at each other's expressions. Lo'ak inched closer to you, intending to plant a soft kiss against your heated cheeks.
You immediately swiveled your head to see what he was doing, and he kissed you on the lips by accident. Lo'ak felt like he was going to burst into flames, not intending to do that.
It was now your turn to bury your face in your palms, your heart practically bursting out of your chest. You couldn't believe what had just transpired!
Ah, young love.
Bonus!
“No. Fucking. Way.”
Jake screamed for his wife to come over. Neytiri ran quickly, abandoning her unfinished basket. Something terrible must’ve happened!
“What’s wrong?”
Jake wiped a tear away, dropping his binoculars. “Our son has finally become a man.”
Neytiri threw her basket at his head.

Lo’ak was thoroughly intrigued when he spotted you gliding across the large waves of the sea, confused about how you did that on... a board? The Metkayina called you the queen of the waves for a reason, after all.
THIS IS ADORABLE BUT SIDENOTE I THOUGHT THIS WAS A BOT IN MY INBOX FOR A SEC HELP 😭😭 nah but when I saw this request I was listening to summer sunshine and then the thought hit me... IMAGINE A METKAYINA READER WITH MERLIAH’S HAIR STREAKS?? Also, think of Lo’ak’s inner monologue as amore mio aiutami. It sounds exactly like what he was thinking lmao

Lo'ak stared in awe at your figure in the ocean.
He had never seen anything like what you were doing right now!
There was a massive wave in the midst of the waters, and you were standing on some weird board Lo’ak had never seen before.
He couldn’t wrap his head around how you were gliding across the wave on this board, performing bottom turns and snapping against the wave.
How were you doing that??
But that wasn’t the only thing he noticed about you.
Aside from how impressive it was that you somehow managed to stay upright while riding this fairly massive wave, Lo’ak’s eyes raked over you affectionately.
The way your bangles glinted against the sunlight, or how the remnants of water droplets on your blue skin left behind a pretty sheen.
Maybe he was just looking at you through rose tinted glasses, but to him, you were practically sparkling in the water.
What also caught his eye were the pretty blue streaks in your hair; he hadn’t noticed them before, but they were far more apparent when you hit the water.
He secretly wished he could card his fingers through those blue streaks.
Jake noticed his son staring at you intently, and punched his shoulder lightly. He had never seen his son so whipped for someone before!
You did a cutback, and before Lo’ak could shift his lingering gaze away from you, he caught your eye.
Before surfing away from the wave, you beamed at him, dimples on full display just for him.
He felt his heart stop the moment he saw you do so, and the wink you sent in his direction made him go into cardiac arrest.
You chuckled at his reaction, and soon disappeared behind the wave.
Kiri and Neteyam gagged besides him as they witnessed the entire ordeal, then started laughing to each other about how their brother was behaving.
He turned around to argue with them about what was so funny, but stopped when you emerged from the water and made your way to him, board under your arm.
You brushed your stray tresses aside, and asked him what he thought of your surfing.
Surfing? Is that what that was?
Of course he stuttered trying to say it was cool, but you merely giggled at his flushed demeanor.
You held out your hand for him, asking if he wanted to try.
Now Jake joined his children in snickering at Lo’ak’s bashful countenance.
Lo’ak shot a glare at his family, then accepted your hand.
He was definitely gonna rock this surfing shit.
...
Spoiler alert: he didn’t.
He didn’t mind, though. His failed attempts at surfing on a wave only served to make you smile, so he didn’t care.
As long as it was because of him you were happy.

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [01/01/23] ❞
Lo’ak had been in love with you ever since you two were twelve.
You had met in the Omaticaya clan, and were always attached to the hip.
Neteyam always told Lo’ak he was surprised you weren’t dead yet, considering the way you two were inseparable.
Lo’ak ignored him, secretly not caring, because eventually he realized he liked you.
At first he thought he’d get over his feelings for you, because he didn’t think you could ever like him back, but they only grew the more time passed.
So, he kept his feelings to himself, because he didn’t want to ruin your friendship.
Fast-forward to two years later, shit had hit the fan.
The RDA was back, and they were after his father. His family had ultimately decided to leave.
You had followed them to the Metkayina clan, despite Lo’ak’s protests against it.
You were just like him, not minding how stupid you could be throwing yourself into danger. But, part of him was glad you would go so far as leave the clan just to stay by his side.
Your time together with the Metkayina was quite fun. The swims, meeting Payakan, and even beating up the chief’s son!
All good things must come to an end, though.
Quaritch was tailing his family, and right before the Metkayina went into battle, Lo’ak pulled you aside with a somber expression.
He noticed the way you seemed perplexed, and took your hands in his. He really couldn’t figure out what you were thinking, but he thought that in case he wouldn’t be able to make it out alive, you at least needed to know this.
His feelings for you.
Lo’ak confessed, and dropped his hands from yours, fully expecting you to reject him.
Before he could turn away to join his siblings, you stopped him.
Lo’ak’s eyes widened when you gave him a small smile and told him you reciprocated his feelings.
He was bewildered that he hadn’t realized you’d also been pining for him the last few years.
He of course pulled you into his arms and kissed you passionately, and promised that he would stay alive. For you.
There were many instances where he thought he was going to die, actually.
He almost got shot, almost drowned, and even got caught by Quaritch.
This boy really knows how to make you sweat 💀
However, the one thing that drove him to stay alive was the fact that you liked him back. That you were waiting for him.
And so he kept his promise.
When you all had reassembled, you gave Lo’ak a tight hug, telling him that you were glad he was alive.
You kissed him again, this time without the desperation and fear of death looming over your heads.
Lo’ak took your hand in his and led you to his parents, trying to swallow back his nerves.
Neytiri and Jake appeared a little standoffish, seeing how serious their son’s expression was. Did that bastard Quaritch rise back from the trenches of the ocean?
“Mom, Dad, I want Y/N to be my mate.”
You blushed at how direct he was being, but you supposed there was no other way to do it.
The both of them looked at each other, then to the both of you.
They burst out laughing.
Lo’ak felt kind of offended, because what was so funny??
Well, apparently Jake and Neytiri had known you two liked each other a loooong time ago.
They thought this was something serious, like their son dying!
This was absolutely not the reaction the two of you were expecting.
Jake pat Lo’ak’s shoulder, struggling to speak through his fit of laughter.
“Son, you really need to get your wits about you.”

“Your girl is a freak!”
Lo'ak was furious, trembling from anger. All he could see when those words escaped Aonung's lips was red. Aonung could ridicule him for his appearance and tease his siblings, but you? Now that was pushing it.
Lo'ak struck the boy, and a brawl broke out near the rocks before he realized it. Lo'ak pummeled Aonung in the face with a barrage of punches; tails were being pulled, and blows were being exchanged. It was a bloody spectacle, to say the least. Lo'ak only ceased his heinous attacks when an outraged Neteyam hauled him away from Aonung mid-punch.
Lo'ak spat out the blood that had gathered in his mouth, and wiped his wounded lip with his battered fist. Aonung stood up, stunned, but a smile danced across his lips nonetheless. Neteyam pointed a finger at Aonung and ordered him to back off, then dragged Lo'ak away from the scene by the bicep before he could worsen the situation.
Aonung jeered and slapped his friend on the chest in a fit of laughter. “Pfft. Freaks go together, no wonder they’re dating.”
Lo’ak twisted out of Neteyam’s grip and stalked over to Aonung again. “Don’t talk shit about my girlfriend, you fish lipped dickhead!”
Neteyam sighed deeply as Lo’ak punched Aonung. Again.
...
To say the least, you were gobsmacked. Lo'ak looked dreadful, and seated across from you right now, he appeared more downcast than anything else. He'd just returned from a stern talking to with his father, which had left him looking distraught.
“Are you okay? What happened to you?”
Lo'ak refused to meet your gaze. You delicately took his hands in yours and brushed your thumb across the ridges of his knuckles. You noted how he grimaced at your touch, and frowned when you realized how much his hands were injured. You sat up to search for the first aid kit in his modest home; you know where it is now, as embarrassing as that may be, because you've patched up your boyfriend more times than you can count.
Lo’ak’s voice carried over in the space between the two of you. “I just wanted to protect you. He called you a freak!”
You suppressed a laugh. You, a freak? What did you even do to be insulted so ludicrously? You assumed Aonung had said that to get under Lo’ak’s skin, which he clearly succeeded in, as that word was a soft spot for him. Now he was seated away from you, waiting to be tended to.
He spoke dejectedly. “All my dad thinks of me is that I’m a troublemaking failure.”
Your heart hammered in your chest at his words. “You’re not a failure, Lo’ak. You’re the kindest person I know, and beating the shit out of Aonung to protect my name proves that.”
You nestled in Lo'ak's lap, dabbing a cloth with antiseptic. You cupped his cheek, pressed a tender kiss to his nose, and proceeded to pat the damp cloth on his injured lip. You then moved away from him and did the same to his knuckles, delicately tending to his wounds. Lo'ak grumbled.
“Sorry.” You murmured.
As you continued to treat him, you nibbled on your lower lip, and he sighed. You reached for a roll of bandages. Finally relaxing his muscles, Lo’ak laughed at your focused expression.
He observed your deft fingers. “Do you think I shouldn’t have punched him?”
After unrolling the bandages, you wrapped his hand in them, securing your work carefully. “Only partially.”
Once you were done, Lo’ak raised his fist to examine your workmanship. He praised your first aid skills, and you laughed.
“I wouldn’t be so good at it if I didn’t have to do it so much.”
Lo'ak hummed in response to your statement. “Sorry, I know it must be kind of annoying you have to do this all the time.”
“Don’t be. I love spending time with you.”
He smiled softly at that, rubbing his neck in embarrassment. “Me too.”

Scaramouche is an Inazuman prince with mother issues, and you’re a caring princess from Liyue visiting for diplomatic reasons. What could go wrong?

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [30/11/22] ❞
Imagine, Scaramouche is the prince of Inazuma.
He is cold, calculated, and untrusting. He rejects any speck of emotion, whether positive or negative. He loathes his subjects and never ventures outside the castle gates to see the outside world. Since his mother, Ei, cast him aside, he has done nothing but wallow in the confines of his room as the useless, unwanted prince.
He used to have lofty dreams for his future in the kingdom, filled with eternal affection for his citizens and a desire to ascend to the throne in order to better the lives of those who lived beneath him. Yet, for his own mother to consider him an undesirable son, he did not appear to be fit to rule with the iron fist that she hoped of him.
So, imagine his surprise when his mother invited outside guests to their home, and asked him to be present during their visit.
Royals, from Liyue, in fact.
Scaramouche was also thoroughly interested to learn that while not all the royals themselves were able to attend, they sent a group of ambassadors in their steed. But that is not what caught his interest.
No, it was you.
The visiting princess, and the only royal hailing from Liyue who had arrived for diplomatic relations.
Imagine, that as the prince is staring daggers into your back, you make eye contact, and find that his expression is one of an evil, shit-eating smirk. Not even five minutes in Inazuma, and you have created a bright red target on your back for the royal family.
Scaramouche is the polar opposite of you; where he is frigid and wary, you are warm and compassionate. It irritates him more and more as he gets to know you. In some ways, he may identify with your demeanour as it reminds him of shards of his former self. However, it just serves to infuriate him. He's been wounded by Ei many times, so forgive him for not inviting a stranger into his home with open arms. Who's to tell your sweet disposition isn't all a ruse?
But it isn't, and he knows that. Scaramouche understands that he can't simply go out and play cruel pranks on you to get you to crack, but that doesn't mean he isn't trying. At least, in subtle ways that is. He'll mock you, taunt you, and make catty remarks. Scaramouche would never intentionally ruin Liyue and Inazuma's relationship, but he occasionally believes that if he acts out, Ei will acknowledge him. Even if the attention is negative.
You, on the other hand, give him attention, which he desires from anyone who is willing to offer it to him. But, just as quickly as he becomes attached to someone who makes him feel vulnerable, he pushes them away. But not with you.
Once he quits attempting to reveal your 'true' nature during your visit, he gradually but steadily eases into being comfortable around you. While he is still harsh at times, his jokes take on a more lighthearted tone. And you eventually become friends. At least, according to you. Scaramouche laughed in your face the first time you called him so, despite the fact that he knows it's true.
Perhaps there's another reason he's so infuriated by your smile, and how you seem to make his pulse beat faster every time you come close. When he cracks mean jokes, you may respond with one of your own. Of course, this is all in good fun, but it makes him dizzy since you don't even react badly to his jokes. Curse you for being so patient and also so amusing.
Scaramouche has developed a crush on you, but since he denounces all his feelings as stupid, he believes his infatuation with you is clearly just being annoyed that you, well, exist.
You might be a kind and warm princess, but not a stupid one.
That’s why, when one day, Scaramouche decided to make a teasing joke about how “you wanna kiss me sooo bad”, you do it. For once you got him to shut up, but left him in a sputtering, flushed mess in the process. After composing himself from the mental combustion he just experienced, he throws his massive hat at you and walks away with the back of his hand shielding his cheeks.
Later that night, you paid his chambers a visit, hat in hand. Scaramouche was about to shut the door in your face, but not before you wedged your foot between it. Of course he is blushing again, because how can he face you after the events of earlier?
You make your way into his room, and plop down on a chair. Beckoning him to come sit with you, he does so begrudgingly.
Imagine Scaramouche, for the first time in his life, being able to talk about his feelings without feeling sick. And, as he tries to communicate his feelings to you in yet another dumb, teasing way, you kiss him again, the words dying in his throat. You tell him you share his feelings. You also suspect you may have had just broken him, because the words he is attempting to compose in his mind are being vocalized in vain.
Days pass since that night, and Scaramouche is still awkwardly trying to figure out how to express his feelings to you nicely.
But, you make him kind again. You make him trusting.
That’s why it hurts all the more when you have to leave him. Of course your stay wasn’t permanent.
That’s why it also makes him happiest, when Ei tells him she received a proposal from Liyue two weeks later for his hand in marriage.

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [20/02/23] ❞
Lo'ak went swimming alone with Payakan, as he regularly does.
Splashing and playing in the sea was something they did all the time. They'd explore the reef or Lo'ak would cannonball off Payakan's back, but Lo'ak was absorbed by his thoughts today.
Payakan whistled in irritation at his spacing out habit, and Lo'ak swished his legs back and forth in the water lazily. He didn't realize Payakan was talking to him until he submerged his fin.
Lo'ak sputtered under the water as Payakan hoisted him back up, his arms outstretched in bewilderment. He glared at him, and Payakan blinked back with the same force. He whistled again as if to ask, "what's wrong?"
Lo'ak ran a hand through his braids, and sighed wistfully. He shifted his body to face Payakan properly and began to sign with his hands.
"I met a girl."
Lo'ak could tell Payakan was intrigued, but did not know who he meant.
He groaned. "Y/N."
Payakan laughed out loud with a succession of clicks. Lo'ak ignored his response and persisted.
"Eywa, she's beautiful. You have to meet her! Every time I'm around Y/N, she's just so amazing... She’s got these eyes that just... And her smile!"
Lo'ak rolled onto his back and laid on Payakan's fin, returning to his daydreaming about you. Payakan was dissatisfied. Lo'ak could determine from his expression that he was perplexed as to why he hadn't confessed to you yet.
He sat up, frustrated. "I can't do that! She doesn't even like me like that. What if Y/N rejects me?"
Payakan whistled again in disbelief, then asked Lo'ak to meet you to make sure of it.
"I could bring her to our swims, but I doubt she even sees me that way..."
Ah, if only he knew.
...
You agreed to meet Payakan, much to Lo'ak's consternation.
So there you were, caressing Payakan gently while marvelling at how Lo'ak managed to befriend him. That was a story he could tell you another day, but for now he was anxious about what Payakan was up to. Why on Pandora did he want to meet you?
Payakan watched Lo'ak's dopey expression, evidently unimpressed, while you gushed at how incredible the tulkun was. Lo'ak was completely smitten by you, his bright smile reaching the corners of his eyes as he observed you.
Payakan, the filter less tulkun that he was, began clicking at Lo'ak.
To Lo'ak's chagrin, he knew you comprehended what the tulkun's clicks implied, and your countenance transformed from awe to uncertainty.
You drew back from Payakan. "What's up with him?"
He kept laughing at Lo'ak, and you whirled around to see what was so hilarious. You noticed Lo'ak's lingering gaze and realized what was happening. Then, a deep flush enveloped his features, and he averted his eyes from you; his skin was flushed and feverish.
Payakan hummed, mocking Lo'ak about his crush in an inadvertent (but not really) fashion. Although Lo'ak couldn't fully grasp what he was saying, he understood the gist of what Payakan meant, and instantly became mortified.
He turned to you, and desperately tried to deny it. "It's not true, Payakan is just a pathological lia-"
You silenced him with a finger against his lips. "I like you too."
That really shut him up.
Lo'ak felt himself go into cardiac arrest and slowly sank backwards into the water, similarly to a dead fish. You thought his reaction was sweet, but Lo'ak assumed he'd finally learned the way of water; perhaps he'll bury himself beneath the sand, too.
He started sinking.
You shouted in a panic. "Eywa, Lo'ak!"
You hurriedly plunged your head to swim after him and haul him over the surface of the water. You tightened your grasp on his waist, and once he regained consciousness, you began to smirk at him.
You giggled. "Did you serious pass out because I said that?"
Lo'ak tore your hands away from his shivering waist, and shielded his face with a clenched fist. "Shut up!"
You could still see the evident blush dusting his features. What a cutie.

╭┈─────── ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ-╰┈➤ ❝ [10/01/23] ❞
Neytiri was not happy.
Neytiri had invited you to go hunting with her just moments ago. Naturally you accepted, because you would leap at any opportunity to spend time with her.
When you were both up in the treetops, shrouded by greenery for concealment, you located ample prey and drew your bow and arrow to shoot it. You couldn't maintain your attention on the hexapede while aiming your arrow though. Neytiri's gaze was distracting, as she was peering at you so raptly that you began to shiver.
A terrible strain surged throughout your arm well before you released the arrow. Your arrow punctured the tree trunk behind the hexapede, alerting it to your presence, effectively scaring it away. You clutched your arm in agony, knowing that this was the result of overworking yourself on hunts.
Of course, Neytiri was both bewildered and alarmed because she had no idea you had injured your arm, nor that it had been that way for some time. She would never have brought you out hunting if she knew you were unwell. Why on Pandora did you agree to come if you were hurt?
You couldn't climb out of the tree on your own, so Neytiri rushed over to you and grabbed you in her arms to carefully position you on the back of your Ikran, enabling you two to safely return to Hometree.
Those events had culminated in you sitting peacefully amidst Hometree, having your arm tended to by Neytiri. You told her that it was alright, but she insisted on helping you.
She cautiously lifted your arm and turned it over, beginning to massage the tension out of it. She took a peculiar oily paste you'd never seen before and squeezed a handful of droplets on your forearm, kneading it into your skin to help make the process much more pleasant for you.
Neytiri's gaze did not leave your arm as she concentrated intensely on the motions of her fingertips, striving to relieve the aching in your forearm. While she was engaged with that, you began to stare at her affectionately, ignoring the nagging discomfort in your wrist.
You should have turned away sooner, but you couldn't. Neytiri halted as she felt your eyes sear into her, shyly lifting her head to meet your fixed gaze. Her cheeks immediately flushed as she noticed your attention drawn to her so warmly, but she couldn't figure out why.
Neytiri, who was now painfully shy and bashful, attempted to demonstrate confidence by poking your arm. You winced in pain, and she proceeded to mock you about your stare, a shaky grin on her lips. “Did your arm injury travel to your head?”
You laughed and shook your head, your heart swelling at how beautiful she was when she smiled. Everything about her was perfect, from the way her hair fell gracefully behind her shoulder, or the way her eyes crinkled in amusement, to the way she tossed her head back in mirth.
You couldn’t stop the next words that escaped you. “You’re so pretty.”
If Neytiri was blushing before, she was now completely flushed from her cheeks to her throat. You'd never seen her trip over her own words before; it was completely uncharacteristic of her. You thought it was adorable.
You ignored the pain in your arm as you took Neytiri’s hands in yours. “I always think you’re pretty. I like you so much my heart could burst every time I see you.”
Neytiri withdrew her hands away from yours as she rotated your arm over yet again, this time caressing the inside of your wrist. Neytiri sighed, her thoughts repeating your words. “I don’t know what I would’ve done if I wasn’t here today to help you.”
You started smiling now, feeling embarrassed about how silly you were for going out with an injury simply to impress her. You drew Neytiri in for a sweet kiss, which she gladly reciprocated, and it all felt so natural.
Neytiri pulled away from the kiss and laughed. “You’re an awful hunter.”

Genshin men and what their weddings would be like.

Diluc
You just know this man went all out for your wedding.
Spared absolutely no expense, Diluc is a rich man he will flaunt it for his wife
When he proposed, it was with a gorgeous Burmese ruby ring.
The whole colour scheme of the wedding was white and red, with some touches of black
He wore a white suit with a black shirt and gloves, but the gemstones adorning his body matched that of your ring.
Your actual wedding dress was a white, strapless ballgown with small touches of red embroidery. It had a semi-sweetheart neckline with red silk wrapped around the lower bodice of your dress.
During the afterparty, you wore a rouge, satin ballgown with a semi-sweetheart neckline. There was a rose on the side of your hip where the skirt of the dress is pulled towards, and it has sparkly, silver jewels embroidering parts of the bodice and skirt.
You can’t lie but it felt good to have some of Diluc’s admirers stare at you in jealousy.
He couldn’t keep his eyes off you for the entire day, and thats all that mattered
… … … … … . . ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ,,  ⌲˘͈ᵕ˘͈
Albedo
Albedo doesn’t care to have a big wedding.
As long as you both show up, he doesn’t really mind how big or small it is.
He proposed to you in a warmer, safer part of Dragonspine where the snow fell gently around you two.
He proposed with a citrine ring.
The color scheme of your wedding was light yellow and white.
Albedo wore a white suit with a black shirt underneath as well. Instead of wearing a tie though, it was replaced with his vision instead.
Your wedding dress was a dazzling, white ballgown with intricate, light yellow floral details. Trust me, you sparkled in this dress. The hem of your skirt was lace and the bodice was off shoulder.
As for the afterparty, you guys didn’t go big. You went with a simple, A-line dress that had a scoop neckline and a criss-cross backing. The dress was light yellow with, again, touches of floral details.
Albedo looked pleased.
… … … … … . . ꒰ ♡ ꒱ ,,  ⌲˘͈ᵕ˘͈
Ayato
Lol if you thought Diluc was bad with the wedding spending, Ayato is worse 💀
Has a massive wedding with a massive afterparty
He proposed with a sky blue topaz ring.
Your wedding color scheme was white and blue.
Not too different from Ayato’s regular attire, he wore a white suit with a light blue shirt underneath.
Your wedding dress consisted of a royale high-esque ballgown with an off shoulder, sweetheart neckline. It was light blue, big, and expensive. There is a lot of lace floral designs on the bodice as it slowly travels to the hem of the skirt.
For your after party, you wore a light blue, strapless, satin mermaid dress. It had a slit on the right side and pulled the fabric of the skirt to the other side of your body. You were definitely blowing everyone away
If you thought Ayato’s wedding expenses were bad, just wait for the honeymoon oh my god
