They're kids.

And as much as I love all the "omg he's totally Percy!!", just remember that he's not. They're actors. They're doing a phenomenal job and we're really lucky to have them as a fandom, but... remember that they've signed up for a big job at a very young age. It's our duty as a fandom (especially a fandom with a lot of adults in it) to protect them, make sure that they are being respected, and (APPROPRIATELY) call out inappropriate and/or disrespectful behaviour when we see it. If anyone needs it, I've put some examples below the cut.

Fully clothed/non-sexual fanart of the actors (in or out of character) (romantic is okay)

Posting/reposting consenting photos, (respectful) edits, etc of the actors in or out of character

Discussing details of their personal lives that the actors have chosen to share with the public (but don't make it weird, ok?)

"Walker and Leah need to date irl, they have so much chemistry!!" uh. no. You're seeing *acting*. Leave their personal lives out of it

"Annabeth being played by a black actor is ridiculous, wokeness is getting out of control" or any variation upon that sentiment. Honestly just fuck off. Also (and yes this is a sub tweet) recolouring fanart that depicts Annabeth as black? Absolutely not. If you absolutely have to, go do your own fucking artwork like a normal human being instead of a racist POS.

Raunchy/suggestive/sexual fanart of the actors (in or out of character). Nope. They are children. Stop it. Don't care if you're "aging them up". Imagine how that feels for them.

Posting/reposting photos where the actors aren't/don't seem to be consenting to the photo

Speculating on or pressuring the actors to reveal ANY DETAILS about their private lives. This includes, but is far from limited to: their contact details/locations, their sexuality, their relationships, their diagnoses, their politics (they're still really young... idk about you guys but my political opinions were hot garbage at 16. they get a (moderate) pass until they're at least 18)

These are obviously non-extensive lists. Please use your brain, and, if in doubt, don't post it.

Also, if you see inappropriate behaviour, please don't be an idiot about it. First course of action should always be politely talking to the person in private. After that, yes, it may be appropriate to start publicly calling them out. Having said that, remember that teens can be dumb (speaking from lived experience...), so let's give them some grace. Ignoring, reporting, blocking, and not engaging is sometimes the best thing you can do for dumbasses, especially if they're attention-seeking.

I love you all and I have complete faith that we, as a fandom, can rally and make sure the cast knows that they are loved and respected.

Worldbuilding blurb: The Changed (Guildergate)

In the waning years of the Age of First Spring the guildergates began sparking back to life for the first time in a millennia. Much had changed since the gates were opened last. The Midrealm faced a dreaded age of ice, darkness, and death that was only pushed back with the light of the First Spring. The last century was a prosperous golden age that saw the rise of many prosperous kingdoms of man.

When the gates reopened there were brief hopes that it would bring the same riches and prosperity from other realms as they had when the Aekari (gods) still walked the world. However, what first came through the guildergates wasn't the gold and glory of old, but refugees. Various Fae refugees fleeing from their dying realm, Fel, had opened the gates to escape to the Midrealm. Fortunately the Fae were able to escape their pursuers and lock off the realm of Fel before they could be followed through. However, the kingdoms of man were not the only to have noticed the return of the guildergates... and what waited on the other side was ready and waiting for this very moment.

Like a tidal wave washing over the Midrealm the forces of the Naiad Empire poured over the realm and rapidly subjugated all but a few far inland holdouts. While they seemed to have imperialistic intentions like any other empire that came before and any empire that'd come after the Naiads had a far more ambitious goal in mind. Ingrained in their culture, the structure of their society, and their empire was the Quest of Mystics. The goal; to achieve immortality and godhood. The Age of Mystics had begun.

At some point early in their ambitions the Naiad's began to experiment with their newest resources, humans. Under their massive spires the Naiads would use twisted magics to try and unlock the right formula to achieve their own immortality. This came with many trials and errors, always producing something short of their lofty goals. Many new and different forms were created through the experiments. Some were deemed worthy of service to the empire either as servants or solders that would become known as the Zel (sea elves). Others were often used as frontline fighters against particularly stubborn holdouts or simply cast back into the world to fend for themselves.

These others would become known as the "Changed". While on some level they still shared a human-like form, they were ultimately made different, more beastly...

The Changed can be seen as hybrids between humanity and animals. Any two Changed can be drastically different from one another with the only shared features being a mostly human form and face. While not limited in form they often have an appearance very akin to a satyr, faun, minotaur, harpy, turtle-person, or kitsune (fox-human hybrid in this case).

As a sort of 'sub-species' of humanity, the Changed are a wide and diverse group of peoples that spans most of the Midrealm. In most places they have done their best to integrate into the culture of the lands where they live. In some places they are accepted completely with open arms. In some places they are viewed with caution and skepticism as 'others' and 'too strange'. In places that took the worst of the Naiad invasion the Changed are usually heavily discriminated against, being seen as invaders or 'demon-spawn'.

In the land of Farend where most Changed can trace back where their ancestors were first changed there is a sort of nation-kingdom of Changed where people of any race and creed are openly welcomed.

Omg hello Anon!! I guess I should’ve laid that info out in a post, but I’ll use your ask to set some beginner blanket rules!

Do:

✅ send SFW scenarios

✅ request any characters of legal age (I feel more capable writing certain characters, but I’ll do my best regardless of who they are!)

✅ x reader requests are great! Character x character requests are fine too (just not as much my specialty. Again, I promise to do my best!)

✅ multiple requests/characters are okay! I ask that you try to limit it to four characters or put in separate requests. It’s fine if you add more, just know I might not do them all!

Don’t:

❌ ask me to write for any characters or relationship circumstances with characters under 18. I might make exceptions for certain things if you’re looking for reactions from the crew in the pretimeskip era, but that will be a case-by-case basis

❌ request anything that could be linked to pedophilia, grooming, incest, etc. (not a complete list but hopefully you get the gist)

❌ be rude or entitled. If a request is not up to your standards, you’re welcome to let me know in a respectful way. Just trust that I’m doing my best with the prompts I’m given :)

Maybe:

❔NSFW asks are okay but ultimately up to me if I want to write them/who I want to write them for. All NSFW posts will have a warning at the top and a cut before content!

❔ one-shots with characters are great too! A case by case basis, and will probably take a bit longer, but I’m open to them!

❔ speaking of one-shots, if there’s a piece of writing you love and want a followup to (or another character in a similar situation), let me know and I’ll consider it! :)
