　フロイド先輩は待ち合わせの約束を守らない。

　待ち合わせ場所は覚えてないし、時間通りに来ないし、何時にこの場所で、と前日に念押ししてもあまり効果はない。せっかくのデートなのに、約束を反故にされたことは数知れず。もう慣れたものだが、次のデートは果たしてどうなることやら。

「小エビちゃんおはよ～！」

　休日の朝の8時。平日より遅めに起きて、寝間着姿で簡単な食事を摂っていると突然ガチャ、と無遠慮に開かれるオンボロ寮の玄関扉。あれ、施錠してたはずでは？と思う暇もなく陽気な声と共に姿を見せたのは、今日のデートの為に『11時に街の噴水で待ち合わせ』の約束をしていたフロイド先輩だ。

　ほら、今日も約束を守らなかった。

「フロイド先輩、待ち合わせは外がいいって言ったのに！」

「え～？どうせ一緒に出掛けるんだからいいじゃん」

　フロイド先輩はいつもこれだ。待ち合わせの予定を決めても、それを無視して真っ先にオンボロ寮までやってくる。もっと早い時はわたしが起きる前からいる時もある。機嫌が良さそうなフロイド先輩はシンプルでお洒落な服を着て、シーグリーンの髪の毛を整えて既に準備万端だった。いつもより雰囲気が大人っぽい先輩の姿に目が釘付けになる。か、かっこいい……。一方でわたしは未だにほぼ寝起きのまんまの格好である。もはやデートの日の朝の恒例行事となりつつあるこのやり取りは、既に片手では収まらない数を繰り返している。好きな人には良く見られたい女の子としては、これが結構恥ずかしかったりするのだった。

「わたしまだ準備してないのに……」

「オレが手伝ってあげる～♡」

　ちょ～かわいくしてあげんね。テーブルの向かいで頬杖をついてニコニコと頬を緩める先輩を見たら、待ち合わせの約束も寝起きの姿を晒してしまったこともどうでもよくなってしまう。だって、デートが楽しみで約束の時間まで待ちきれないなんて言われたら、ね？

　結局今日もフロイド先輩に準備を手伝ってもらって最高にかわいく仕上がった私は、仲良く恋人と手を繋いで一緒にオンボロ寮の玄関を潜るのだった。
