Yes i can, although this is a really vague question, i'll take it as a chance to write anything freely about it from my own understanding and experiences, as long it's still on topic.

Starting with the basics, it's another set of alters but instead of the biological body, its inside of the alter itself. Well i always have a few analogies for it but the easy one is, you have a box of eggs which represents the whole body, those eggs with one yolk are an alter each, and one of those eggs have two yolks inside it instead of one, now that's a subsystem.

And these 'yolks' have different strengths and weaknesses, could be similar or not similar to the "og alter" and might have a chance to look the same or different too, there could also be a dominant and the submissive parts (aka who is more prominent being out if you get it) but i think thats something minor i noticed in our system.

For now i haven't discovered other reasons why it formed, but i do know when one of our people isn't coping or in a prolonged time of stress it will happen. So, first off it'll slowly start as a "i always hate these food- but i think i wanna try it anyw- wait i never want to do that anyway why do i think of it", it always start off from a different reaction/response (though i am not confident if this is a general thing because i haven't did enough survey yet, please tell me about it if you like) and it will snowball from there until the subsystem fully forms.

Don't worry, it is possible to fuse back as one and it will actually return you to your "og self" (for our system, also not confirmed if its general yet), though its really hard because the conflict is caused for having differences in maybe, almost everything, but if they all seem to found the middle ground when compromising and agreed consent to be one again, it will flawlessly fuse. I also remember forcing a fuse will temporarily work, but it will bounce the whole part back as multiple pieces so yeah please don't, very dissociating.

I really have nothing else in mind to say, so i hope this answer will be able to satisfy you.
