His feelings towards you were confusing, yet strong. Why did his heart beat so fast when you were around? Why can't he prevent his gaze from wandering off your figure as he watches everything you do, no matter how irrelevant it may be? He had already figured it was love, but he didn't want to risk anything for it. What if he makes a mistake and it's fatal for your relationship? In this field, it'll be the one in which you see the poor alchemist the most insecure about. He's so lost about this kind of love.
When Albedo accidentally travels to the future, he feels really stunned... it seems all the same in his camp. A voice behind him startles him. âI see you managed to do it, I congratulate you.â It was his own voice, with a tone of amusement from the confusion of the Albedo from the past.
âHow... how did I do it?â he walks slowly, running his hands over the table, the books, the shelves as he passes. Everything looks exactly the same, but what he's really paying special attention to is himself from the future, who from time to time looks out the entrance making sure no one passes by.
âThat doesn't matter, you'll see once you come back.â he responds with a small smile, crossing his arms, glancing at the other Albedo. âIt's curious, right? You are from the past, I am from your future, but we are both in the present at this very moment. We certainly crossed our limits with this discovery, huh?â
The one from the past frowned at him, remembering something important. âAnd y/n? Everything is fine?â
âLook behind you. You have missed a few... important details.â he answers, and Pastbedo obeys. On the cold wall, there hangs a picture of the two of you together. And on the shelves there are some objects that you usually take everywhere. Pastbedo opens his mouth as if to say something, but he's too busy putting all the pieces of the puzzle together in his mind. He turns, and the last piece makes sense of it all. The Albedo from the future has a sparkling ring on his finger, showing it to him proudly after removing the glove, with a small smile showing 0 regrets on his face.
âHave I... married...?â he can hardly formulate the words correctly. His cheeks turn pale pink as his lips tremble slightly with excitement. He doesn't know what to do, he just stares at the photo behind his back again, looking at you, and only you. You are still just as precious as you're in the past.
âWhy do you hesitate so much? Why did I hesitate so much?â Albedo from the future speaks again, causing the other to return to reality. âLook to you. You are in love. And look at me. Is there still something to be questioned about it? Come on, Albedo, move. Move at once and don't waste any more time. You'll make y/n so happy.â His voice grew a little higher and higher, the Albedo of the past staring at him desperately as his vision began to blur.
His hand reached out in a futile attempt to grab the clothes of the other Albedo, who was looking at him with a smile from his position. âWait! There are more things that--â
And blackness.
Returning to the present, Albedo gasped loud, and he was welcomed into the timeline that corresponded to him with your hand gently pushing him towards your chest. To your surprise, he clung to your arm, snuggling closer to you as the thoughts of him reordered inside his mind. And although he was calming down again, he was still clinging to you.
And he was not willing to let you let go, not until he told you his true feelings, which now made sense thanks to that accidental travel to the future.
ây/n...â he whispers. He closes his eyes as he brushes his cheek slightly against your chest, grasping your arm more firmly. His voice's a bit breathy, his heart beating fast in anticipation of what he was going to say. The excitement of revelation running through his veins, the excitement of knowing exactly what love feels like, and it was like ecstasy to him.
âI love you.â
