Unnecessarily lengthy ramble abt losing interest and moving on with a new acc + last few bot/fic ideas I might post (feel free to ignore idkidk)

I’ve been having a hectic week regarding academic stuff so I have the worst brain fog rn, and I have a feeling I should unwind a couple more days before writing this but I honestly don’t care atp 😭😭

Basically, as you can see with the title, I’m losing interest in AHS, evan peters, his characters - all that. Besides Colin Zabel (he’s still my husband fr), creating content for everything else feels like a real chore now, whilst back then it was truly enjoyable and exciting.

Don’t get me wrong, I love writing and making bots, like this stuff is basically for life lol. But nowadays, it feels like I’m simply utilizing the evans as tools to write out the tropes I enjoy, rather than actually experiencing a desire to write FOR the characters like I used to ((which still can be gratifying in its own respective way… until a certain motivating factor begins to lack, if that makes sense??

It really sucks cuz I chalked it up to me being burned out, when in reality my attraction was clearly just plummeting as we speak 😔. What’s worse is that I’m really comfortable in this fandom - like I have super cool moots here, there’s no drama, there’s a bunch of evan characters for everybody 😂, and I gained over 500 followers, which is still crazy to me! I tried to “prolong” my interest for the sake of all this progress, but I think the inevitable has arrived and I can no longer keep up, my resolve is crumbling y’all 😭😭😭

I was hoping to wait until the Tron movie comes out in 2025, cuz maybe seeing Evan in there would reignite some of ✨la passion✨ within me, however I don’t feel like hanging around anymore, since I no longer relate to the fandom. I feel so out of place now, like a fRaUD 😩 ((I’ll still most likely watch it, but until then we’ll see

And to clarify, I will most likely NOT post and interact as frequently as I used to anymore. I’m not deleting this account, though I am going to make a new account to post The Boys content, as I want a fresh clean slate to start new.

Uhhh some of Cutting Room Floor has me kinda 😳 these days. I wouldn’t write a fic like that again, it’s too physical (I realise it’s incredibly tame by other people’s standards, but it’s not so much the explicitness as the vibe).

literally every time they have à misunderstanding that's rooted in the fact that neither of them views themselves as lovable. That will always get me.

ugggghhuuhhhgh you do know making an Irish person say something good about themselves is an act of violence yes?? Fine. Fine. I think I'm good at capturing the characters' inner lives and portraying realistic reactions to unlikely situations (like alternate selves from other universes, being impaled, etc etc)

Actually funnily enough, I don't drink and write a whole lot. It does happen, but that's because I only drink when I have an evening off and nowhere to go, which often coincides with me deciding to write. But I don't think being tipsy actually helps me to write - it makes me kind of muzzy-headed. As for the productivity secret sauce, I'm team "writing is 3% inspiration, 97% getting off my FUCKING phone". Otherwise my top tips for inspiration are:

🧠(Holly) Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.

I love the idea of Holly being the product of kind of the reverse of Lucy's mother - someone perfectionist, pushy and overly involved, instead of negligent the way Mrs Carlyle is. I think it would explain a lot about her. I also think that the effects of her time at Rotwell are under appreciated - they colour her whole behaviour at L&Co, because she's used to operating in an environment where she can't speak out directly. I think that's what makes her so passive aggressive.

I guess I am always writing about conversion - the moment of surrender, the moment grace breaks through our hard-heartedness.

I cannot overstate the whiplash I had at the end of episode 6. The masterful subversion of the "soft character becomes fierce to protect the ones they love" trope, where characters and audience alike are completely unprepared for how easily Stede kills Ned and subsequently how seemingly unperturbed he later is.

I went from a flustered "Oh HELLO Stede 😏🥵" when he first confronted Ned to a worried "Oh SHIT Stede 😳😟" when he straight up murdered Ned to an unexplainable mix of bafflement, excitement, and dread when Ed went to comfort Stede only to find him dtf rather than torn up.

All in a few minutes time. Serious Emotional Whiplash.

Unintentional Love Story has me by the throat, it's that good. I like it even more than Our Dating Sim. The grump/sunshine dynamic and classic romance tropes are being well executed and Cha Seowon is hitting it out of the park with his acting. Watch this series y'all!

The way Taejoon sees Wonyoung's disappointment and then how happy he is to make Wonyoung happy fills me with joy.

He purposely pressed on Wonyoung's blister and smiled about it. SMILED. 😏 Also, is Wonyoung the youngest person ever to get shingles? 😅

Taejoon is also worming his way into Wonyoung's heart with his staring into the depths of your soul looks.

No series is complete without gay panic. I understand Wonyoung though, the way Taejoon takes care of Wonyoung makes my heart flutter too.

One of my favorite books of all time is actually a YA novel- A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb. Love story with a ghostly twist. Changed my LIFE as a teen. Still holds up as an adult.

My fave from more recent years is The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. Period drama, Great Depression era, Dust Bowl. Strong female characters. Made me SOB.

My favorite series right now is definitely A Court Of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. These books are definitely hate them or love them. EYE personally love the world-building and storyline and hotsexy characters but what do I know 🙄 Would encourage haters to give em a chance.

I'm sorry gay people in my phone but the new Doctor Who has thoroughly fucking confused me and was kind of a letdown

I thought they were gonna genuinely do something with the story and aliens being extremely generic? Like. The Doctor regenerates back into their 10th form, coincidentally near Donna Noble, coincidentally while a plot's going on that feels like a self parody of Dr Who as a show. Tiny overly cutesy alien, gets found by and connects with teen who hides it from family, getting hunted down by big scary alien army, scenes like the plushie hiding thing that feel pulled straight out of a generic 80s scifi family film??

The Meep being evil was obviously gonna happen but I assumed there would be a second twist to it? Like, maybe they were both an elaborate set up bc some larger entity wanted 10 and Donna together. I thought bc it was the anniversary they were going the meta approach by making a threat that basically encapsulates the exact set up you imagine when you think about the show, mashing all the tropes together into one adventure made especially to encourage Donna and 10 back into the old days. Even the end with an oops silly mistake resulting in them being stuck together in the Tardis.

BUT THEN. THEY PLAYED IT COMPLETELY STRAIGHT?? AND THE EPISODE JUST ENDS?? NOT EVEN ANY CHARACTER ACKNOWLEDGING HOW WEIRD THIS WHOLE SITUATION WAS???? JUST COMPLETELY ACTING NORMAL. EVEN THE DOCTOR

I'm seriously hoping that this is explained later on as a setup for somethig larger, and that in later rewatches it'll be way more satisfying. But rn I'm confused as hell and disappointed, and if the show wasn't so important to my childhood I proly wouldn't wanna watch further. If it is all setup then... I don't want an exclusively setup episode. That's lame. At the very least if you ARE going that direction foreshadow it better

Some minor things I'm nitpicking also

- I know Doctor Who isn't meant to be that serious but come on the intro of David Tennant just greenscreened standing in space explaining the setup was so goofy it made me howl (and I don't think that was intentional)

- I love an important trans character, that's based as hell, but the trying to act relevant and appeal to Gen Z was kind of annoying. Not as in "Grrr my old show is woke 😡" I'm literally one of the wokes. As in "Haha women are so much cooler and smarter than men 😏 Doctor assuming pronouns 😳 Binary Nonbinary 😁😁" "🦡 Wow that's not very funny and a little irritating, it feels like a cistraight guy wrote this". It was a funny episode and some bits of this were funny but certainly not others

- For real tho I'm obsessed w "Binary Nonbinary" that's so fucking stupid

- For all the set up and stakes put on Donna remembering the Doctor, the way it resolved felt like a copout. Passing down and sharing the power was fine but literally just going "Nuh uh" and sending it away?? I really feel like that diminishes how importantly the time lord power was set up just for the sake of Donna being alive for more episodes. If they need her they could've at least let the two deal with it together for a while, before finding a better way to get rid of it down the line

- ^ It also made Donna's death have less impact for the problem to be solved in such an easy way. Her dying was emotional, was well executed, until it wasn't and she was fine and she was back having fun doctor times and woo!! everything to do with her absorbing that power and losing her memory is done and dusted and doesn't need further exploring 😁😁👍👍 I mean come on man..... give us something............

TLDR special was very fun but I expected it to do something interesting and subversive and it ended up playing the parody of itself completely straight. I'm hoping as more stuff comes out the showrunners are proven to be complete masterminds who purposefully made it like that and I'm gonna look like a bumbling idiot

i do NOT like the love triangle trope honestly i'm pretty tired of it.... there's a couple ways it often goes and all of them are like. equally frustrating.

way #1: for the first part of the story, character A and character B are shown to be slowly developing feelings for each other. their relationship is developing well, and so far their story is compelling. then one day, character C is introduced as a love rival for A's heart. C often doesn't have very much depth, and is often obnoxious, petty, or mean, and exists only to create tension with B. C doesn't really add anything meaningful to the story, and is often meant to "test" A's loyalty to B. this often goes hand in hand with misunderstandings, where B thinks A is going to date C, due to A for some reason being nice to/affectionate with C, and B gets jealous/angry/hurt, and that creates tension between B and A, often damaging their relationship with each other for like A WHILE. eventually of course, C gets rejected and A and B are endgame, but C created a lot more unnecessary drama and dragged the story out for longer than it needed to be, and damaged A&B's trust with each other, and C didn't develop as a character at all, and it just made A look disloyal. i find this trope to be very frustrating and unnecessary. there are so many other ways tension can be created rather than throwing some catty jealous rando in there for no reason at all, and making B and the audience question A's affection for B.

way #2: A, B, and C are all introduced from the start, and B & C are shown to be constantly competing for A. it goes back and forth, and ohhh~ we totally don't know who A is going to choose! will it be B, or will it be C? A is shown to not really be "loyal" to one or the other, and B & C often fight, or are mean to each other, and often try and sabotage the other in the name of making themselves look better to A. i find this really frustrating and it gets very old very fast, and i just end up not really rooting for one or the other, when B & C are both shown to stoop low to boost their own favour, and A is shown to be wishy-washy and noncomittal. overall not compelling to me, and doesn't make me want to ship any of them. just really offputting.

way #3: A and B are childhood friends, but one day C arrives! C is like. meaner or more of a "bad boy" type and B is kind and caring. guess who A chooses, despite it being objectively a bad decision? you know this one, of course it's C. "nice guys finish last" trope. i really hate this one. it's just so frustrating, and often A doesn't really pick C for any other reason that "theyre sooo hot 😏🤤🥵😳😩i want this objectively shitty person to fuck me rawww~~~~" and there's often no depth or development given to their relationship. i get that this is often used as like wish fulfilment or self insert? but yall need to get better fantasies. im so tired.

ET CETERA. i just think there's so many better ways to write relationships without making some third character be "competition". it's just frustrating and it gets so old to me. I HATE LOVE TRIANGLES. please give me better written romances, or if you're really set on more than 1 love interest, write healthy polyamory instead. im so tired of this competition bullshit LMFAO
