โ€œPeople know your worth, they just hope that you donโ€™t.โ€
The fact is relationships are not easy. Sometimes we get consumed by social media or our friends situations and assume they have the perfect relationship making us feel some kind of way about our own. What changes this and how you navigate relationships is knowing your worth. A relationship I was in, that person treated me terribly by my standards. I was secure and suddenly I was anxiously attached comfortable with being shown I was not a priority. At some point I had to look in the mirror and be mad at myself for forgetting my worth.

How did I discover my worth again?
I made a list of everything they did that I would not find expectable for someone I loved or my future child to go through. If I questioned their love for me, their loyalty, if they did something that felt like a betrayal I wrote it down. It doesnโ€™t have to be what others considered bad, it was anything that hurt me. Once I had this list I made the decision to either make it work or leave.
Once you understand your worth it is so much easier to get up and leave at any moment.
Journal Prompt:
Make a list of how the person hurt you emotionally, physically, or mentally. Reflect over that list until you start to see it was less than your worth. Make that the example of what you will not go back to or what your new person should not do. For example,
I will not allow someone to call me out of my name.
I will not allow someone to talk about others in a way that makes me uncomfortable.
I will not allow someone to _____________.
Start making a habit of seeing what you deserve. It wonโ€™t happen overnight but eventually youโ€™ll get to the point that bad behavior will become unacceptable.
Affirmation:

Healing begins when you start having honest conversations with yourself. -Ash Alves
One of the biggest tips that has helped me grow and heal is journaling, more specifically writing letters to my past self and what I wanted to hear from others. To understand what was missing I needed to understand what I wanted to hear from people who hurt me. Telling myself if I heard this it would have gone a long way.
Journal Prompts:
Write a letter to yourself saying how proud of the progress you are making big or small.
Write a honest letter to the people or persons that have hurt you. You donโ€™t have to send it, but it off your chest.
What could I have done differently? Holding ourselves accountable is hard, but in the long run it is worth it.
How did I change from this experience?
What did I learn about myself?
Affirmation:
I am healing myself from the inside out and love who I am becoming.

( here are some things that have personally helped me as a person with severe depression as well as generalized anxiety disorder during depressive episodes in the past. not everything might work for you, and I'm not the best at writing but I hope you find some of this helpful. remember you are loved and cherished๐Ÿฉท )

๐Ÿงธ one thing that has helped me tremendously has been starting a therapy / mental health journal. you can find prompts online, or even come up with your own ! I find tracking my triggers (what makes me feel upset or anxious), reflecting on how I handled my day, writing my thoughts, and what I'd like to bring up in my next therapy session helps me feel a lot better. เซฎ โ—ž ๏ปŒ โ—Ÿ แƒ
-you can take time to learn about your brain and how it makes choices; for example, learning about and researching your trauma responses, mental illnesses and how to ground yourself during panic attacks. sometimes our brain can make us feel or think things that we can't control, so its important to differentiate between what we are telling ourselves and what our brain is telling us.
๐Ÿซง be kind to yourself and take time to rest if you need to. Indulge in things you like and find calming activities to do after a hard day such as coloring, doing a fun craft, playing a video game or using play therapy.
๐Ÿงธ distance yourself from relationships or people that make you feel uncomfortable or are harmful to your mental health. its not mean to say you need space. you can still be friends and have established boundaries, and if someone dose not respect those boundaries its okay to distance yourself from them or take a break from talking to them until you start to feel better and are more capable of saying how important those boundaries are.
๐Ÿซง make sticker charts and schedules ! I have one for brushing my teeth. I also use a fun app on my phone called Pokรฉmon Smile that reminds me to brush and sets a timer. เซฎโ‚ หƒ แต• ห‚ โ‚Žแƒ
๐Ÿงธ find little things to look forward to, like a new movie coming out, a birthday or a Holliday you love. sometimes I order little gifts for myself in the mail after doing a big task or getting trough a hard day hehe ! เซฎ โ—ž ๏ปŒ โ—Ÿ แƒ
๐Ÿซง clean your space, and maybe even redecorate a little to give yourself a fresh start
๐Ÿงธ find ways to "work around" overwhelming tasks like running errands or going to the doctor by bringing a comfort item or stuffed animal with you. you could keep them in your bag if you are too shy to hold them, but from my experience, no one seems to mind hehe. /lh I also like to pack fidget toys to hold when I get anxious.

How to declutter for a fresh New Year ๐Ÿซง
The very first time I got into the spirit of minimalism and decluttering physically, mentally and emotionally, it was challenging as I still had a lot of resistance and attachment to things.
I started this during winter many years back, and it's becoming easier and easier. Not just as a great practice before the new year, but also as a habit throughout the year or whenever I feel like it.
When I started seeing how the mental load, the brain fog and distraction and worry... shifted into peace, relief, joy and mental clarity every time I let go of things, I understood why it's important to not be a hoarder. Physically or otherwise. (Of course this has nuance to it and it can be a privilege to be able to do it, but that's for a different topic.)
Here are ways you can start the new year fresh (or just clear the energy any time you need):
Online / social media
delete old files or photos you don't need from your devices or cloud
unfollow accounts on social media that don't inspire/uplift you
delete old messages
archive or delete conversations you no longer want to see
block or delete numbers that are affecting your mental health
Home
throw away things that are broken or falling apart (clothes, items, lingerie, etc)
donate or sell clothes you no longer use or want
sell items you don't use anymore but which are perfectly functional (hair straightener, lamp, etc)
throw away or repurpose gift bags, bags, cards
put away items you still need but are not using in this particular season - ie. put away into storage any winter clothing during summer, it's just cluttering your hangers
