i think my brain tried to give me an anxiety dream (you're taking an essay test on multiple books you haven't read!) but i just did not care. i went up to the teacher at the end of the class and said 'hey i didn't do this test. it wasn't a mistake, i just didn't know any of the answers.' and then i left and did something else.

EVENT : the debriefing of BARBARA MORSE, aka MOCKINGBIRD, in relation to abduction and time spent on skrull planet. SUBJECT : barbara 'bobbi' morse, phd. formerly known as agent nineteen. former shield special service, level seven. former reserve avenger. DEBRIEFING AGENT : agent lindsay wheeler, level seven. DATE : october first, two thousand and fifteen, 09:15 hours. LOCATION : classified.
WHEELER : thank you for joining us, miss morse. i'd like to start by — MORSE : doctor. WHEELER : excuse me? MORSE : my title is doctor.
[ wheeler's hand tightens a bit. bobbi doesn't watch her much, just stares directly over wheeler's shoulder, straight into the security camera on the other side of the room. she's in a fishbowl in here, feels eyes on her from all sides. she has felt this way for three years — it no longer makes her want to crawl out of her skin, but she can't say the feeling is comfortable, by any means. ]
WHEELER : doctor morse. excuse me. i'd like to start by asking if you know why they chose you. MORSE : i'd like to first confirm that barton is not, and will not be privy to this debriefing. WHEELER : that's none of your— MORSE : i wasn't asking, and even if i were, i'm not asking you. i am informing the director that he is either removed, or i walk.
[ wheeler opens her mouth to respond, but then leans into her earpiece. bobbi waits for a long twenty seconds, visibly fighting the urge to leave, and looks into the camera until wheeler nods. ]
WHEELER : barton has been removed from the room, and will not be able to access this debriefing later. why did they pick you? MORSE : i was easy to replace. i have no powers. in the grand scheme of superhero work, i'm an easy trial run. WHEELER : your file spells out a good record with high marks. MORSE : i'm a great spy. that's why i'm still here. but their priority isn't spies. it's superheroes. if they can figure out how to replace the superheroes with powers — what good is a nine millimeter against a skrull thor? WHEELER : understood. let's start at the beginning. MORSE : it was april twelfth, two thousand and twelve. WHEELER : we have you listed as flying into los angeles from new york. MORSE : i was in the restroom in the c terminal at dallas international. i think they were disguised as facilities staff. WHEELER : you think? MORSE : i was knocked out, and woke up in a simulation of the west coast avengers' mansion. i can't tell you anything about the in between. WHEELER : so, bobbi morse leaves new york— MORSE : h'rpra shows up in los angeles, dies two weeks later. WHEELER : . . . h'rpra? MORSE : that was her — it's name. the one that replaced me.
[ bobbi looks down at her hands on the table. they are both her hands and not her hands. ]
WHEELER : what happened when you woke up? MORSE : i was in los angeles, in the mansion. or it was a replica. barton was there, he was making burgers. but you know that feeling where — where something's just not right? everything felt a little too calculated, a little too perfect, and barton — he looked at me like he was happy to see me, but that wasn't right. we'd been arguing so much for months on end, being near each other in any capacity was draining. we were exhausted of each other. i'd told him three three weeks prior that i wanted a divorce, and he was fine ith it. he shouldn't have been happy to see me. WHEELER : and then what happened? MORSE : i stabbed him in the neck with a skewer and ran. broke through a window and found myself in a skrull facility. he was chasing me. he thought it was fun, that i was running. it was a game to him, one that went on for the entire time i was there. WHEELER : did he have a name?
[ bobbi shifts, uncomfortably. the urge to crawl out of her own skin returns. ]
MORSE : i only knew him as clint barton for the first two and a half years. that's all he called himself. that's all anyone called him. he knew what clint meant to me, and he knew — no matter where i was, no matter what i was doing, making clint into the face of the thing trying to destroy me would haunt me. but there was one time — i'd broken into a house. there was a pair sleeping in there, and i killed them both, and i took food and clothes, but he was waiting for me.
he came out of the dark, and he laughed. he called me birdie, and he told me he loved me, and that he knew i'd come back to him eventually because i loved him. and he tried to touch me, because he always tried to touch me, and i just remember — i blacked out, and when i woke up, i was on top of him, and i'd killed him...
[ bobbi swallows, blinking rapidly. ]
MORSE : i'm sorry, what was the question? WHEELER : did he have a name? MORSE : right. there were more there, and they took me. somewhere between that house and their headquarters, they called him s'kova.
[ bobbi picks at a hangnail. wheeler watches her for a long moment. ]
WHEELER : we can pick this up again later, doctor morse. MORSE : no. i'm okay. i want to keep going. can i just get some water? WHEELER : let's take a fifteen minute break.
[ THIS INTERVIEW CONTINUES AT 09:45. ]

TO GRIEVE FOR ONESELF; AND EVERYTHING THAT ONCE CAME WITH IT.
the recent death of lord mathis rowan has no doubt taken a toll upon the entirety of the reach council, however it was the straw that broke the camel’s back in regards to lucrezia redwyne. months and years of habits and internal thoughts will be playing a role, and i will be exploring this new phase where they take hold of lucrezia’s thoughts and impression of herself.
below the read more, you’ll find a list of behaviours lady lucrezia redwyne will begin to exhibit and the thoughts/reasons behind it. tw: depression, anxiety, death
the reasons for lucrezia’s behaviour/thoughts can be sectioned into long term and short term.
long term: the isolation and loneliness of being an only child on an island. the pressures of being a woman and being the sole heir to the arbor. struggling to find the societal balance between being a lady and having to captain the redwyne fleet. the want to have a family of her own, versus fearing her mother’s fertility issues, the blood of the birthing bed and how it was the ultimate death of her mother. the way she was culturally raised to be a representation of not only her house and her parents, but her values, her belief and her history. the inherent need to want to please and be accepted. to inherent need to feel wanted and desired. insecurity regarding her self-worth and her value in this world. her appearance and her body weight.
short term: the volatile, unstable situation within the kingdom of the reach since cedric took the regency. what feels like constant warring and violence and bloodshed in regards to the iron islands war and now the civil war. the idea of being away from the reach and those she had grown a dependency on. the idea of being queen of the riverlands. her turbulent secret relationship with omer florent which ended in blurred lines and heartache. the feeling of being betrayed and lied to, and shamed by omer. the feeling of worthlessness she feels since losing her maidenhead. the shocking, disturbing death of mathis rowan and pressure she feels to try and ensure he is buried properly for the sake of the gods. the feeling of losing her best friend and his stupid laugh and his quiet looks from across the room when he was wondering what the hell someone was on about. the feeling of losing the great, easy love of her life the ballads speak of. guilt, so much guilt in choosing not to pursue something with him.
so interestingly, the short term definitely outweighs the long term. she was handling the long term relatively well, and short term was the tipping point.
BEHAVIOURS:
continuous low mood that goes beyond the usual process of grief (this will show in time)
feeling hopeless and being increasingly negative, which is very different to her usual nature.
having a lower self-esteem than ever; she will doubt her ability to be a good queen of the riverlands and her place in this civil war. she doubts her place in people’s lives, and what she means to them. she believes herself to be dirty and used and unclean, and needs to repent. she does not believe what happened with omer was from love. she does not believe he loves her; how can you love someone and withhold such information from them? therefore, she sees herself as a whore and that she lost her way.
her eyes seem almost permanently tearful, as though the smallest thing could cause her to cry. a lot of the time she is not entirely focused on the conversation at hand, and does not tend to cry in front of others - though she can.
she has a lack of motivation, paperwork, taxes and petitions will pile up on her desk whilst she usually was very good with her time management. she struggles greatly with the development of her island.
finding herself dazing out of conversations and having to ask people to repeat themselves, both in council meetings and outside.
feeling increasingly anxious; she overthinks and worries about the smallest of matters.
huge changes and dramatic swings in appetite; there are days she eats a lot and days she eats little. there is little change to her weight because of this reason.
a serious lack of energy despite the fact she sleeps more than she did in previous weeks and months. she is mentally and physically tired, a lot of the time, and you will often catch her yawning behind her hand.
she is increasingly avoiding her friends; she will pull out of plans or say she has too much work to do.  this even includes the likes of illya oakheart and meredyth rowan, especially since the death of meredyth’s brother.
she neglects her other hobbies and interests apart from prayer when not working; she prays for hours, and has been introduced to septon androw and septa lyra as a result of her melancholy. she believes in order to feel a sense of self-worth, she needs to feel the love of the gods once again; she needs to earn their forgiveness.

Soft Gestures for Comfort
Bringing them a blanket when they’re curled up on the couch.
Whispering, "It’s okay, I’m here," when they wake up from a bad dream.
Stroking their hair gently when they’re lying on your lap.
Running a warm bath for them after a tough day.
Holding them close and saying, "I’ve got you," when they’re upset.
Preparing their favorite comfort food when they’re feeling low.
Turning off their alarm and letting them sleep in when they’re exhausted.
Reading their favorite book to them before bed.
Playing their favorite soothing music to help them relax.
Just sitting in silence with them, letting them know your presence is their safe space.

one. copy of the count of monte cristo by alexander dumas. an a - typical selection for stephanie, more dramatic and prestigious than she's used to, & it wasn't the contents of the novel per say that drew her to it but rather the self - made etchings of it's previous owner : jason todd. little space has been squandered or left blank, the many highlights offering brief insight to whatever thoughts brought forward. it's as intimate as the theft of a diary.
two. the standard 21st birthday present from : bruce wayne. the odyssey by homer.
three. nancy drew by carolyn keene all novels in their original, old flimsy form, pencil dresses and mary jane plimsols on the cover, faded yellows the standard print quality in the 80's, paper hangs on well worn corners and spines. no one can ever say they aren't well adored.
four. his dark materials by philip pullman. recommended by a well loved english teacher who saw the similiarities between our protagonist and theirs : the tale follows lyra belaqua on her adventure to end a mystery, save her friend, & defy all authority.
five. recommended as part of her education as batgirl, the adventures of sherlock holmes by arthur conan doyle. stephanie is unsure if the materials were well enjoyed by barbara, tim or any amongst them but they litter every bookshelf in gotham.
six. the book that kept her most company when hiding underneath her bed frame from her father's yells, charlotte's web by e.b. white.

WHAT ROMANCE CLICHE ARE YOU?
the italicized oh.
often seen in romance novels and fanfics. when a character looks at someone, wondering why their chest tightens when they're near, why their heart beats quicken at the slightest touches, why they lose their breathe at the sight of them and suddenly realization dawns on them— oh. they've been in love for a long time now. you are soft and quiet, probably the most overlooked. though when you love, you fall deeply. i'm sure you have a lot of anxieties when it comes to love, and you're more inclined to fall in love with a longtime friend than a stranger. though, your love is pure. and maybe if you have someone in mind, this is your sign to tell them.
