My Commentary: This small but significant sequence takes place not long after Koushiro is revealed to be a canon Adoptee. Mrs. Izumi is fully aware that Koushiro has accepted Mrs. Izumi (+Izumis both) as Koushiro's true parent{s}, however, we are not given indication that the other supporting characters were actually told about 'the secret' of Koushiro's. Shin's surprise, in that regard, can hardly be held too much against Shin - which Mrs. Izumi eventually quickly recognizes, dropping the argument and frustration - Shin was likely completely unaware how strongly Mrs. Izumi felt during these moments, while Mrs. Izumi was likely running on pure adrenaline responding!

Mrs. Izumi, in the original version, is also using a neutrally polite speech pattern that is overall appropriate when speaking to children; Koushiro, in the original, is also known for speaking throughout the entire series with a formal and polite pattern that is "unusual" for Koushiro's age, while it's more "typical" for Mrs. Izumi to use similar in this sequence.

Shin Kido, Jou's 2nd eldest sibling closer in age, the 2nd born of the three Kidos, is the sibling who appears throughout Adventure Episodes 35~39 and later Adventure-specific episodes (such as flashback sequence in Dark Masters arc) specifically. In the 2nd sequel series, "02", Jou's oldest sibling, Shuu, was introduced. The U. S. dub combined "Shin" and "Shuu" into "Jim", a singular character, but they were actually two separate siblings! (Thus, Jou is speaking to Shin as if Shin is the younger of the two siblings, addressing Shin commonly with a 'casual' "Nii-san", though in this scene, Jou sounds surprisingly more 'assured' and perhaps a slight bit 'full of' self, but is quickly grounded by Sora and Mimi not long after.)

A: Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Haruhi shows her affection by helping you and spending time with you. She’s actually quite affectionate. She’s pretty private with it, especially when the twins are around, but she likes to be held by you, preferring to scoot closer to you to lean her head on your shoulder.

B: Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

As a best friend, Haruhi is really good at giving you logical/calm advice . Like she’s very blunt and to the point and it might hurt your feelings a little but she never does it out of ill will. Also Haruhi is the best for doing random hobbies or going to random places because she’s just like oh ok and she won’t make fun of you or anything. Overall a good best friend to vibe with that’s also hella responsible.

C: Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Haruhi isn’t really big on cuddling. She doesn’t mind it and she’ll cuddle if you want but she’s not one to initiate. The one exception is during storms, Haruhi won’t even say anything to you, she’ll just walk up to you and let you hold her while she’s shaking until she falls asleep.

D: Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Haruhi is literally the spokesperson of domesticity across the world. Ms. girl has a whole recipe book don’t even play. However, while cooking and cleaning were things she picked up out of necessity, she loves you all the more because you do this for her without her even needing to ask.

E: Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

If Haruhi had to break up with you, she’s very solemn about it. It’s almost formulaic like she practiced it 1000x (spoiler alert: she did). She cherishes every moment you both spent together, but she feels it’s best if you remained friends.

F: Fiance(e) (How would they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Haruhi really doesn’t care either way about marriage. She’s not super traditional in the sense that marriage is a deal breaker, but if you do have a wedding, she’d like it to be simple, with your closest friends and family. Do be warned that Ranka will be slightly butt-hurt if you don’t get married, however the fight between her and Tamaki on who gets to walk Haruhi down the aisle is probably worth getting married.

G: Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Physically and emotionally, Haruhi is very gentle and attentive. Physically, she’s very gentle, mainly because she’s unsure of what you’re okay with and the both of you are just getting a feeling for what you want. However, later on in your relationship, she’s still gentle but she gives her affection a lot more openly in a way that’s still secretive, like placing a kiss on your cheek and walking away like nothing happened. Emotionally, Haruhi is very attentive to the emotions of those around her, even if that person is very private or generally good at hiding their emotions. 

H: Hugs( Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?

Haruhi is fine with hugs, she doesn’t really initiate them but she’ll just stand there and let you hug her if you need to. The only time she doesn’t like hugs is when they lead to her being the center of attention and getting hugs from behind. Please don’t hug her from behind, it reminds her of when she got thrown in the ocean during the beach episode and she’s also afraid you might pick her up.

I: I love you (How fast do they say the L-word)

It takes Haruhi quite some time to confess her love to you because admittedly she’s a little dense when it comes to her own feelings. Once she realizes it, it’s all a matter of the perfect time.

J: Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous)

Haruhi’s jealousy is kinda deadpan. Like when she gets jealous, her face just goes blank and she just looks like ‘-_-’ the whole time. She’s silent and won’t make a fuss about it, even if the two of you are alone, but the whole time, she’s making that face until the person she’s jealous of goes away.

K: Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Haruhi’s kisses are polite in a way. She kisses like she’s grateful for the opportunity, she does get a little needy when pulling away. She’s always going on and on about how she could kiss you forever.

L: Little ones (How are they around children)

Around kids, Haruhi is honestly like the best. She’s very practical,, responsible, and pretty good at tuning out things that annoy her (read, the entire Ouran Highschool Host Club minus Mori) so she makes for a good babysitter and an even better parent. She’s also very attentive when it comes to kids, she doesn’t quite have the intuition for it but she has a determination and a willingness to learn.

M: Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Mornings with Haruhi are very sweet. Haruhi and you will get up and make a meal together, even if it’s something simple like toast, Haruhi loves spending time with you, and what better way to do it than a slow morning.

N: Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Nights with Haruhi are nice, they’re sweet and slow. Haruhi will brew you both a thing of peppermint or chamomile tea and then you’ll be out like a light before you even know it. That’s when the real battle starts. Haruhi can and will snatch the covers from you and she’s surprisingly strong for someone unconscious. Good luck on recovering that blanket friend.

O: Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Haruhi is pretty open already. She is a natural after all, any vulnerabilities she has have been shared and any concerns have been brought up to you as her s/o

Haruhi’s patience is going to get a 76% rating. She does mind her business and make an effort not to be involved in certain things, but drama and mess always seem to just find her. Haruhi does not like messiness or any form of foolishness or buffoonery at all, she doesn’t care for it and is quick to anger when she comes across it.

Q: Quizzes (How much would they remember about you?  Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Haruhi remembers things about you in order of like responsibility. So she’s like memorizing your allergies, your emergency contacts, clothes and shoe size, etc. like she’s almost like a parent in that regard. She does it almost unconsciously too like one day you’ll be out at some street fair and she’s like “oh no Y/N that’ll trigger your allergies” without even missing a beat like it’s almost terrifying sometimes.

R: Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

Her favorite moment in your relationship is when you got tickets for you both to go to a butterfly garden and you proceeded to spend about 20 minutes hyping Haruhi up on her outfit before you even left for the sanctuary. Once you both got there, you took so many pictures of Haruhi surrounded by flowers and butterflies, and honestly she looked ethereal. But that day with you she smiled and laughed so much that her face was a little sore when she got home.

S: Security (How protective are they? How would they like to be protected?)

Please protect this girl, she’s so sweet. Haruhi protects you by just sort of checking on your needs. The way she needs/ deserves to be protected is the real focus. Of course the general looking out for each other, but if you protect Haruhi like emotionally and she’s yours for life. A a kid, despite her dad’s best efforts, Haruhi wasn’t exactly protected, she had to do a lot of fending for herself and her dad, and she doesn’t resent him for that, but it does affect the way she thinks. So if you can prove that you’re a constant source of support for her,,,

T: Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

In terms of her gifts, and any anniversaries, Haruhi is extremely thoughtful. Even if she doesn’t have much money she still plans meticulously to make sure you have the best day. Her gifts tend to lean on the more practical side as opposed to the fanciful side but if she’s able to, she’ll still try to get you something like a charm bracelet. In terms of dates, Haruhi is still meticulous but most of your dates are you two doing some task but together. She tries very hard though to make time in her day for you even if you both only get to spend an hour or 2 together.

U: Ugly (What are some bad habits of theirs? (I’m gonna add arguments here because they aren’t on the prompt list I found))

A bad habit Haruhi has is that she tends to downplay serious issues. She tends to downplay her own issues but on occasion she does tend to downplay your feelings. Not intentionally of course, but you’ll be upset and she’ll just go “Y/N, that seems really small to be so upset about” in that deadpan tone. She does work on it though, but her tendency to downplay issues does cause arguments between you two.

V: Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

Haruhi puts in enough effort to impress you. She’s not big on being ‘vain’ but she does like to look nice for you.

W: Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

Not at all, in fact, one of Haruhi’s favorite parts of your relationship is that fact that you can both spend time apart and still want to come back home to each other. As much as she loves you, she still has other things in life that she wants outside of you. It fills her with the greatest sense of joy to know that you both have each other’s back and are there for each other after everything.

X: (E)xes (Any previous relationship experience. How does that factor into your current relationship?)

Haruhi canonically has 0 relationship experience and it’s completely her fault. She’s just very goal-oriented and a little oblivious romantically so she can’t really tell when someone likes her unless they tell her at which point she informs them that she’s got shit to do.

Y: Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner)

In general, it takes a lot for Haruhi to genuinely dislike someone as a person. She’s pretty level headed so it takes a lot for her emotions to override her ,mind like that. She tends to have character traits that are more of a no than people that she doesn’t like, a few things get her mad though, are inconsiderateness, thinking the world revolves around you, and of course, rich people.

Z: Zzz (What is a sleep habit of theirs?)

You got Haruhi a sleeping mask with her initials on them and she sleeps with it pretty much every night. Like she has a schedule, it’s part of her night time routine there’s no going back now, even if she’s going on vacation, she’ll triple-check to make sure she’s grabbed it.

H E A L T H Physical Health: For the most part, his health is pretty good– he takes good care of himself, exercises, eats well, etc, especially because he wants to set a good example for his kids. However, he has had mild issues with his heart ever since he was a teenager– he has a slight arrhythmia and bradycardia (slow heart rate), but has managed both conditions fairly well throughout his life. He has had to stay in the hospital a couple of times after his heart rate slowed enough to cause him to faint, but he now tries to stay active and take his medication regularly so it (hopefully) doesn’t happen again. Achievements: I guess I’m being asked to list some of mine...some of the ones I’m proudest of, at least, are graduating university with honors, landing a job (liking it is a big bonus), and taking up leadership positions.

Age: I am 22, but never felt quite like it.

Wanda took a little time to get comfortable with affection. She's fairly open with her affection, she shares a few kisses in public and can be caught cuddling with you in the compound.

But most of her affection is kept private.

× B = best memory (what is the best memory they have with you)

Your first time meeting each other is probably one of her favourite memories. Being a tough SHEILD agent meant you had no time for "shits and giggles" as Tony would put it. You never once broke your intense stair with anyone, nor did you bend easily for anyone that so much as flashed a smile at you, it was one of the reason you were the best SHEILD had to offer.

Natasha asked you to step in and help Wanda train whilst she was on a mission. Naturally you agreed and did everything by the book as usual, but the minute you saw Wanda that was it.

You stuttered, you blushed, you stumbled over your words and footsteps- you basically made an arse of yourself. You cracked a few jokes and even had an attempt at flirting, you felt so at ease with Wanda that you could just relax and be you. She asked you for 'help' a few more times and then finally worked up the courage to ask you to get some coffee with her.

Wanda love a hug. She finds comfort in them more than anything. After a tough mission, she only wants to feel your arms around her, mostly so she can settle herself and to reassure herself that you're okay.

She loves nothing more than a good hug, she tends to arm her arms around your neck, so she can pull you closer. She loves when you wrap your arms around her waist from behind, she instantly relaxes.

He’d choose to go somewhere simple, but also meaningful and with little to none distractions. Probably whichever part of the castle has the best view to Kingdom Hearts - guarded by Dusks so no one would interrupt.

It’s a first date, so Xemnas would like to focus on getting to know you and figuring out if this whole dating thing is a waste of his time or not. Not gonna lie, it WILL be awkward cause the guy is just so intense. In the end, you won’t even know if the date went well or not, but hey he asked you for a second date so ? That’s neat -

Xigbar :

Completely unpredictable. Your guess is just as good as mine here. Xigbar’s choice depends on how he’s feeling that day, but you should expect a little action no matter where he takes you.

This fucker would definitely get you in trouble - if that was intentional or not it’s up for debate - but don’t worry ! He’ll save you and then probably ask for a smooch as a reward. Or just continue teasing and pranking you. If you prove that you can keep up with him and his snarky attitude, then he’ll definitely ask you on a second date.

Xaldin :

Okay l i s t e n. Don’t expect him to choose a good spot or an interesting activity for this date. You already managed to somehow score a date with him, so you’d probably be in charge of everything else cause Xaldin is a sour bih. As long as you don’t pick a really crowded place, you two should be fine.

Despite his super distant attude and permanent scowl on his face, he actually behaves like a gentleman - like he opens doors for you, etc etc. It’s just an habit of his from when he had a heart. If you’re lucky and he’s in a good mood, he might actually talk about himself - the two of you would just talk for hours about d e e p and s m a r t topics.

Vexen :

H A H. This dude is too old for cutesy dates - you should feel lucky that he even lets you hang around his laboratory, which is exactly where your first date will take place. Sooo exciting, right ?

You’ll spend most of the time trying to look for a place to sit down without him screaming something along the lines of “gET OUT OF THERE YOU’RE IN MY WAY-”. But if you’re patient enough, he’ll gladly teach you all the things he’s working on and explain them in detail ! If you convince him to take a break, then you two could bond over how annoying everyone can be while drinking that s w e e t h o t t e a.

Lexaeus :

He’s one of the very few members who would actually t r y to make this date as pleasant as possible, discussing what you’d like to do, what to avoid and of course, b o u n d a r i e s. The guy might be lack a heart but he still has common decency. You two would end up going to Beast’s massive garden, picking flowers.

Lexaeus would be lowkey nervous - mostly cause people tend to misinterpret his quiet nature for disdain and he doesn’t want to give a bad first impression. He’d try to speak more instead of just nodding silently and will gladly hold your hand the whole time, if that’s okay with you ofc.

Zexion :

Zexion hasn’t really had the chance to explore and experiment in this whole concept of dating, so he’d do some research to figure out how to achieve the best outcome. In the end, he’d just simply rely on you and ask what you’d like to do.

Because of his control over illusions, he could easily create whatever scenery or recreate any word you’d like to visit without even leaving the castle. Don’t tell anyone but he likes to show off. If you’re the literary type, he’d love to invite you to his library and recommend you a s h i t ton of good books or just discuss them.

Saix :

Another killjoy. His first date with you include standing in the Grey Room for hours while he assigns every member their missions and makes sure they all do their jobs properly. If you insist on a more “private” date, he’d just show up unnanounced in your room and just sit there on a chair or something. There’s your privacy, what else do you want ?

Everything would be really tense until like, the 25th date or so, when he finally l o o s e n s up. So no cute first date moments other than you trying to think of absolutely a n y t h i n g that could catch his attention. But even with his busy schedule Saix does make time for these dates, as awkward as they can be.

Axel :

Contrary to popular belief, Axel wouldn’t take you to the Clock Tower on the first date. That’s a special place reserved for his close friends and you, if you ever go past the first base. But he definitely would just walk around Twilight Town and treat you to ice cream. You can never go wrong with that strategy.

Out of everyone, he’d flirt the most and also pull those Iconic Date Moves, like yawning just to slide his arm around your shoulder and whatnot. “Y/N, can you hold this for me?” “Axel this is your hand -”. You’d get to hear a lot about Roxas and Xion too.

Demyx :

Oh, Demyx doesn’t mind or really care about where you two go, as long as there’s some water around (so he can impress you with his powers) and absolutely zero heartless (so he doesn’t actually have to use his powers for fighting). I can totally see him just bringing you along one of his missions and then hiding with you at the Coliseum, just chatting under the shade.

He’d probably remember to grab some flowers for you at the last second - they’re a bit…d e a d and uhhhhh in horrible shape, but it’s the thought that counts, right ?  If you’re into music, Demyx would love to try and play your favorite songs or anything you request, cause not many people actually enjoy hearing his sitar.

Luxord :

Since Luxord only has two moods (adrenaline junkie and british gentleman), this date can go in two completely different ways. But don’t panic, he’s very polite and will let you decide. If you feel like having a more adventurous date, he’ll take you to either Port Royale or Neverland to steal a pirate’s ship.

If you want a more tame and safe date, then it’s Neverland (the safe part of it at least) or Wonderland. The date would go really well, he’d even teach you some card tricks if you’re interest. And in return you can just answer all of his questions about yourself, cause the dude is just naturally curious. It would take him a long time to talk more about himself though.

Marluxia :

You can expect Marluxia to go all out and be hella extra for this.  He’d leave little notes for you and a rose petal trail so you can find him and start the date. You two would go to the Red Queen’s gardens in Wonderland (because Beast’s garden is a little too fuckin dark for Marluxia’s taste, cough)

He’d also flirt and try to make you s w o o n with his smooth lines, but he’d be more subtle and gentle than Axel. Definitely gives you a shit ton of flowers so you can “have something to remember him by.” If you ever find more roses upon waking up then that’s just Marluxia asking you out on another date.

Larxene :

Larxene would, first of all, warn you to make this first date worthwhile or else there’ll be consequences. But no matter what you have planned, she’ll end up dragging to wherever she feels like going at the moment, complaining about how “she has to do everything herself.” Lovely.

If she’s feeling active and energetic, you bet she’ll drag you over to the Coliseum to blow off some steam killing heartless and fighting. You get extra Larxene points if you show her that you can fight alongside her - but it’s fine if you decide to just chill and cheer for her too.

Roxas :

Roxas is clueless when it comes to romance, so he’d stress over where you two should go. He’d be reluctant to take you to other worlds because he really doesn’t want to have more b e e f with Saix or risk you getting hurt, but he’s pretty easy to convince so don’t worry about that too much.

No matter what you two end up doing, he’ll take you to the Clock Tower to eat ice cream because that’s just a tradition at this point. He might even get cheeky and try to imitate Axel’s “Bet You Don’t Know Why The Sunset’s Red H U H ™” only to fail miserably. Will definitely ask if he can hold your hand.

Xion :

Same as Roxas, except that she has her shit together. Xion would take you to her favorite spot : that little beach on Destiny Islands to pick up seashells, build sandcastles or just have fun splashing each other in the water, then you two would see the sunset !

I can see her stuttering and just s t r u g g l i n g to start a conversation with you. Like Roxas, she might even explain you why the sunset is r e d - But give these two a break, Axel is literally the only person they can look up to. Xion would also tell you about the Papou fruits and then b l u s h cause “she totally didn’t mean that you two should share one so early, please don’t hate her.”

I gotta say I think my favorite part of Jeremy as a DM is that he takes the stupid half-jokes that I make offscreen and just. turns them into things for me. that also fit perfectly into the plot and the story seamlessly but feel special 

like I was making goddamn jokes about “okay but. but I want a bloodsword. we do blood magic. please. Jeremy. Jeremy what if I could make my blood into a sword. b l o o d s w o r d. I could go to parties and never be unarmed because mY BLOOD IS A SWORD. YOU CAN’T DISARM ME YOU WOULDN’T PART AN OLD ELF FROM HER BLOOD WOULD YOU, SO LONG AS I HAVE BLOOD I HAVE SWORD.” and then, like. because it was only half a joke and I got attached to the aesthetic I actively started planning on how to make one of my own, which was pretty much going to be that there are some shadow weapon spells either on the cleric/oracle or witch lists and I was just going to take one of those as I was leveling up in Caedic magic and request that because it’s blood magic can we please flavor it descriptively as being made of my blood and not of shadows like, just as a cool aesthetic piece, and I’d have my bloodsword. 

and then halfway through Book 4 Galen fucking Torus out of nowhere makes a really fucking rad bloodsword from his own blood and hands it to me and I kill a bunch of enemies of the Empire and feel hella cool and I go “c a n  y o u  t e a c h  m e” with starry eyes the next day and he goes “okay sure” and starts teaching me how to make a bloodsword and there are cool bloodsword mechanics and just. Iria Strell got a bloodsword. after I spent six months joking about it. this is an actual legitimate bloodsword not a cheap knockoff made from a flavored shadow spell, real genuine Caedic blood magic here.

and, like, there are a couple of other obvious things (I spent a while being excited about a Feat tree that I’ve now totally forgotten because I think I was looking for some weird way to add Int to attacks and there was something similar to feinting you used bluff for a round and I’ve forgotten about it because it became irrelevant because Iria has developed mechanical combat spurs that give her a pretty similar option, not a “sooo then in five levels I’ll be able to do this!”) I guess another one was joking for months okay not joking about how much in love I was with Arcadia Dominus and holy shit she liked me back and the “gay murder elf bachelorette” bit actually becoming a part of the campaign, this campaign got literally infinitely more gay because I made a dumb joke and then Jeremy went “okay” and followed up on it, we went from no gay to one of the longest running and at least emotionally important plotlines is “oh no Iria is so gay you utter disaster fire of a lesbian how are you going to mess everything up now because Pretty Girl”

but, like

the one that is hitting me really really strongly now-now is that I have been half-jokingly complaining for months and months that I regret So Much Iria Strell’s background as a minor noble because it limits the fanciness and quantity of dresses that I can get for her and goddamnit I want to put her in all the shiny things all of them and how Painful it is to pass all these cool costumes that I Want To Pull just in fashion posts and stuff but uuurgh I can’t because Iria Strell isn’t the sort of noble who would wear all those and she kind of isn’t allowed and that just goddamnit I need to make a character next game who whatever the context wears Cool Clothes so that I would get to actually do a shit-ton of character design and costume design 

and I am 1000% sure that this didn’t change from the original plans, like, the outlines have been in place for months well before I got obsessed with noble costuming, but the big objective of this book is Iria is investigating a maybe heresy/conspiracy that maybe involves nobles, and to do so, she has to go to a bunch of noble parties, and Galen Torus gave her an unlimited credit card and went “material resources are no worry go ham request whatever you want” and what her wardrobe is actively affects all the interactions she has with people and how well she can gather the information she needs to

which means that OOC I get the chance to design a full and changing wardrobe for Iria Strell to look cool as it is now her job as the secret leader of an investigation to actually do noble business and look pretty sometimes and talk to a bunch of nobles and go to parties but just. I’m limited in interesting ways by what is tasteful, but I have been given the full resources and an active in-character reason to utterly go ham on costuming, which makes me so excited as a person

and it’s just. super tiny details like this that idk make the games feel....more than just special? or maybe it’s that I’m not used to being listened to? like. the game is so good. I’m having so much fun. we have gotten to book 5 and it is once again the coolest fucking thing I could imagine. and so was book 4, and book 3, and book 2, and book 1. it is completely unnecessary to throw in tiny things like the bloodsword in order to make me happy and it is all done so....seamlessly? like. if one of my hunches is correct. the bloodsword and a ritual that Galen Torus performed telling Iria it would make her better at the bloodsword wHICH IT DID BUT THAT WAS NOT THE MAIN POINT OF THE RITUAL, THE MAIN POINT OF THE GODDAMN RITUAL WAS TO CONSECRATE PRIESTS AND PRIESTS HAVE MORE ACCESS TO BLOOD MAGIC SO A SIDE EFFECT IS BETTER THAN A BLOODSWORD BUT A CONSECRATED PRIEST IS A SUPER HIGH RANK AND THIS MAKES HER A CONSECRATED PRIEST AT AGE EIGHTEEN WHICH IS VERY VERY VERY UPSETTING TO HER AND POSSIBLY UNPRECEDENTED EARLY 30S IS CONSIDERED RIDICULOUSLY EARLY TO BE A CONSECRATED PRIEST FOR INCREDIBLY TALENTED AND FAST-CLIMBING CAREER-FOCUED NOBLES NOT A MINOR DISGRACED KIND OF EXILED LESBIAN DUMPSTER FIRE LIKE SHE IS

but consecrated priest thing aside and that being one way or another a major plot point and that coming so seamlessly and so perfectly a surprise from the fact that she asked an Exarch if he’d teach her how to make a bloodsword

again I’m pretty sure “Book 5 is noble politics book” was always going to be a thing so it’s not “oh Jeremy wrote it into the plot that I get to be ridiculous and pick out every single dress and everyday wear and hair and makeup for my character all the time multiple times a session and have that matter” because it was always abstractly going to matter as that matters as a part of being a Caedic noble but just 

here and is everything I wanted and was everything that I was totally joking about for months except no joke I just. get to do it. which I’m just actively so excited about. I guess it just...feels weird to me because I’m... sometimes used to making my own fun? or just, like, making things happen in my own life? there have been way too many “well if you want to survive it’s only you that you can rely on” situations not even in a bad sense of my life is horrible like. I could go on a rant about how I....not don’t trust people as people but don’t trust people to be 100% reliable and so always make a backup plan so that if a person falls through I can still get what I need done to be done and it’s just more pleasant for everyone involved if I don’t pin pressure on people or things? but in a different way I do the same thing for the games that I’m involved in, I will find things to make me have Feelings and will make my own fun and write letters and befriend NPCs and insist on staying in touch and, like...I dunno I guess I’m not used to trusting any world, be it fantasy or real, to give me what I want, if I want a thing I have to carefully plan and invest time and energy to earn and take it and be prepared to fail and just because Jeremy’s my friend and I goddamn narrate everything jokes or not of how I/my characters feel and “okay but here is the 1000th picture of a cool dress that I’m sending you and because Iria Strell doesn’t get to wear cool dresses we’ll say it’s the Gothicus Maximus Spring 2019 collection” and just

and, like, is sometimes fucking brutal Iria is dealing with slowly losing her mobility and ability to fight to an injury that was her fault and she is descending into a lot of really fun mental health places that push fun buttons and Marian is spelljammer and is Marian don’t even get me started on Marian’s family suddenly reappearing or just. characters from the thousands upon thousands of words of backstory showing up but just idk it feels like even when things are really brutal to the characters......the world is still kind to me? it’s aware of what I care about and it cares about me?

and I’m just so not used to the world being kind

I don’t need the world to be kind to love it. I love this world even with how fucked up and hard it is, and I love the games that I play and the stories that I get to be a part of without them caring about me at all, I don’t need them to care about me, that’s not why I’m playing

maybe I’m just hella tired and the move has been awful my old housemate gave me a deadline less than 12 hours before when there was never a deadline in our original conversations and then she and her mother were also going through my room and my stuff I guess to try to determine how quickly I’d get out of there but, like, I do not like it when people go through my stuff and there was a scare about the landlord selling the new place and the new landlord would have to honor the lease for a year but then maybe not wanting me to have my cats so suddenly for two days even my new living place was up in the air and I was already jet lagged and stressed and barely slept to try to finish a week’s worth of work that I was under the full impression I had a week to do in a day and a half and definitely sprained my ankle but got to keep walking on it and internet took forever to set up and trying to fix my furniture and all my stuff is in boxes and I’m still walking around on a twisted ankle because it’s just me there’s no one here to help me, if I want things to be okay and to get done I have to make them be done myself and these boxes need to be unpacked by Saturday morning because the landlord wants to fix the floor and just. I’m stressed and emotional so maybe I’m hella overreacting to “oh you like costumes? well an aspect of this book is noble interactions and parties so sure I’ll let you pick out literally every dress that you’re wearing” but it just

Character: salix willowbark

What drew you to this character: i usually tend to play very meek characters but something about salix’s ‘fuck everything im just gonna do me bc rules are oppressive in any regard no matter who is in charge’ attitude really just connects to how i actually feel normally in the world. obviously i don’t thieve ( for legal reasons of course ) but that constant need to mess with people, especially people who are all about politics, is something i have so much muse for. i can just see salix now always coming in extremely late to the council meetings on purpose just so he can make as loud as an entrance as he can even though he knows he literally has no value to them really, its just fun to watch them snap their heads expecting someone important but nope, its salix slamming the doors again. he’s that type of guy who is always around but you never see him leave or arrive anywhere, he’s just there and then gone along with your wallet if you’re lucky. salix would call himself an enigma but he’s just really good at sneaking in and out of places ( i wonder why huh? ). authority means absolutely nothing to him, anyone who tries to police him just gets greeted with nonstop laughter because he can’t even take them seriously and he was quite slippery, too hard to grab and arrest. salix has no schedule and he doesn’t make plans. if he gets invited to a party the times are optional so he shows up when he wants to or doesn’t. he’s a very fickle individual who likes to seek out adventure without falsifying with prior intentions. he’s a purest when it comes to adventures and nature, both should always be presented to you not picked by you.

ik they’re very different objectively looks wise but honestly when it comes to vibes they’re very similar. the reason i picked up hero & kangjoon was because they both kind of radiate this smugness while also being extremely charming looking. both are very attractive men who just have that look, that severe beauty that is just approachable enough with his charismatic personality. he’s definitely the type of guy to know people think he’s hot and doesn’t like to show that he likes it but he secretly loves it especially coming from people he’s tricked so both of these face claims to me just scream that type of energy. smug but not arrogant, attractive but not too attractive to where you can’t talk to him, just charismatic enough that you look past any red flags because that smile is just too genuine looking to be coming from a trickster, right?

I N  C H A R A C T E R -

Please list at least two headcanons for your character:

1. it is not uncommon for salix to disappear in the woods for a couple days only to come back to the ridge with no explanation. no one knows where he goes or why but sometimes he just needs peace and quiet from the constant reminders that their societies were close to a war. it’s like his own little meditative retreat.

2. salix likes to pretend he’s a human sometimes by covering his ears with a hat or scarf while going out on the town to see who he can fool and mess with. it’s very amusing to him and he’s learned humans are kinda dumb but then again so are all of the other races to him as well so it wasn’t a huge surprise. 3. salix is the type of guy who doesn’t believe in settling down and not in a ‘no one will ever love me so im too afraid to try’ way. the entire concept of a relationship just seems archaic to him and the amount of work that goes into that is too much work for him so he just puts it out into the universe that he is single but not looking to settle down.

4. salix’s charm is really easy to fall under because he’s an attractive sweet talker who knows how to work a person based on body language alone so he’s really not to be messed with. he is 80% non-violent and honestly mostly neutral when it comes to almost every topic because he could care less but that 20% left over is from situations where someone forces his hand to be used. he doesn’t use force unless someone is really bothering the shit out of him and that’s a hard feat to do since he’s such a fucker its hard to fuck with him back.

5. salix is constantly barefoot and prefers to never wear shoes but he is known to make the exception for special occasions ( but not always ! ). he doesn’t tell people his reasoning mostly because he doesn’t really want their input on what he does with his life because its his life but its simple, he feels more connected to the earth without shoes. shoes to him rob every species of the true experience of nature.

6. it is no secret that salix likes to use the five finger discount a lot but what people don’t know is that the stuff he steals that isnt for profit ( stuff he cant resell or barter with that he steals ) he always keeps. his home is just full of random shit everywhere in piles and there is absolutely no organization in his home but he doesn’t care, the chaos calms him because all those stolen things are his now, his little trinkets and random stolen things that he likes to just look at when he is home. ( which isnt super often, he likes to go out and not come home for a few days )

1. i can’t stop thinking of salix annoying the hell out the council members just for shits and giggles. so i can just imagine him showing up somewhere a council member is and just acting like a moron until they leave. 2. anything to do with him stealing/pick-pocketing + messing w/ppl and running into the ‘law’ and just having to try to keep a straight face when he’s being questioned because he doesn’t take any authority seriously. i’d love to see how an angel responds to his ‘charm’ 3. i’d also love to delve into his neutrality, like how deep does it go and how far do his morals go with it ? he isn’t a true neutral but he’s close so to really go in-depth with his character to see what kind of person he turns out to be in the end of this, still neutral or will he bend and choose a side?

A-Z Book Recommendations.

What a great idea from my friend at @macrolit :) Had to give it a go. I’ve omitted “A’s” and “The’s” from most of the titles for sake of flow.

A - American Gods by Neil Gaiman - A wandering modern “fantasy” that felt keenly poignant to me having grown up in the midwest. You’ll need patience for this one but this book is truly about the journey not the destination.

B - Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer - I’ll be honest, I never finished this series. It got a little overblown but the characters are so genuine that I held out a lot longer than I would expect of myself. This first book though is the definition of a classic middle reader. Lot of Adventure and a lovable, fierce, albeit flawed, female protagonist. 

C - Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess - I used to read this book every summer. It’s a rough read with some explicit violence (sexual and otherwise) but an important one I think. I recommend reading the “British” publishing which has 21 chapters (the publishers took out the last one for American audiences, because apparently we don’t like character redemption and growth *eyeroll*). The real genius of this book is the vernacular Burgess created from scratch that is truly like reading another language at first. 

D - Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab - Not to be cliche but I find that a lot of the titles Booklr obsesses over in the YA genre to be par-baked at best. Not the case with this series! Well developed characters that exist beyond their actions and exhibit real emotional complexity without relying on tropes and a plot that kept me turning and turning pages!

E - East by Edith Pattou - This is a remnant from my scholastic book fair days. It’s a frightfully easy read, however, her love for the folktale on which it is based (East of the Sun and West of the Moon) shines through. Each chapter is told by a distinct alternating voice and though the plot leaps about a bit you do not lose any sense of forward motion. 

F - Fly by Night by Frances Hardinge - At this point you’ve probably realized I love middle-reader books. There is also a pattern of relatable well written female protagonists in all of them. Not to be outdone the lead of this book is a stubborn young girl named Mosca and her equally prickly goose, who live in a fantasy setting based loosely on 18th century Britain. I won’t give anything else away except to say READ THIS BOOK!

G - Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson- I don’t exclusively read fantasy children’s books and here’s the proof. All of Larsson’s books are difficult to get into. Which can be put down to the fact that the first half of his reads are laying the complex groundwork for the gripping, fast paced, second half that will leave you gasping for air. 

H - The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien - If you go into The Hobbit expecting the verbose grandeur of LoTR you’re going to be sorely disappointed. This book was aimed much more at a younger audience and is far more light-hearted and comical than its more mature follow-ups. Nevertheless it still has the grand beauty of Tolkien’s imagination and I quite like the whimsy of his narrative style in this prequel. 

I - It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini - This book helped me understand aspects of my own struggle with depression and anxiety. It is heartfelt, raw, but most importantly not without hope. Vizzini committed suicide a few years ago, which leaves a bit of a cloud over the book but it is an important read for both those who struggle and those who care about them.

J - Jerusalem by Sami Tamimi and Yotam Ottolenghi - But Rachel this is a cookbook! Yes! Yes it is! But it’s also so much more than that. The entire thing is a love letter from the two authors who grew up, respectively, in the Jewish and Arabian communities of this complex city. Beyond the delicious recipes there is mouth-watering photography more akin to photojournalism than a traditional cookbook. Each section and almost each recipe is accompanied by an explanation of the historical and political machinations, tragedies, and cultures that led to its creation.

K - King Lear by William Shakespeare - Far and away one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I dream of someday playing a gender-bent Lear. I find that this play in particular asks a lot of tough questions of its characters and they answer in frighteningly frustrating ways. “Tis the times’ plague, when madmen lead the blind.” 

L - Letter for the King by Tonke Dragt - This book is a cult classic. Originally published in Dutch in 1962 it has since been translated into twelve languages! This is a classic hero’s journey written in a loving, nurturing hand. 

M - Maresi by Maria Turtschaninoff - Maresi is a relatively new book that has flown totally under the YA Booklr radar. It has a vivid comparison to The Wizard of Earthsea series by Ursula K Leguin but is not a reproduction. The plot centers around an island of “sisters” in an intensely patriarchal world. The second book was just released so I suggest jumping on this bandwagon soon!

N - (The) Naming by Allison Croggon - I’m in the middle of rereading The Books of Pellinor series and I vividly remember now why they were the favorites of my High School years. Crogon writes in a simple elegance that must have been lovingly honed by years of reading Leguin and Tolkien. Another complex female protagonist in this one but written in 3rd person Omniscient (not fixed) narrative which is hard to find these days.

O - Once and Future King by T.H. White - I am an Arthur scholar and I will admit this is not my favorite Arthurian book (That’s Sword at Sunset by Rosmary Sutcliff). However, it is a necessary read for anyone who has interest in how modern fantasy came about in the US and the American obsession with King Arthur.

P - The Plucker by Brom - This is more of a graphic novel than a book. If you are a fan of Guillermo del Toro YOU WILL LOVE THIS. Imagine Toy Story except as a horror movie instead of playful animation. Brom is an exquisite illustrator and it’s worth it for the art alone. 

Q - I have literally nothing for this one! Ah!

R - Runaways by Brian K Vaughan - This is a graphic novel series about a group of teenagers who mistakenly find out their parents are part of a super-villain society. Being a Marvel comic there are cameos by familiar goodies and badies and the series itself takes many surprising twists. Characters of color and female characters are prominent! 

S - Seraphina by Rachel Hartman - Imagine if Dragons could take human form but were required by law to wear a bell to mark their otherness. Rather than set in a typical medieval setting, Seraphina takes place in a pseudo “classical” Europe setting with heavy emphasis on music. The characters and plot in this are flawless and I found it a refreshing, fun read.  

T - To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee - This is one of the few books I was required to read in High School that I actually enjoyed. There’s a lot to be said for this timeless classic but the fact that it still remains relevant is really all that needs to be.

U - Under the Black Flag by David Cordingly - Albeit I read this book back when pirates were much more a pop culture phenomenon than they are now. However, if you like history, and pirates this is a great read for notable and notorious seafarers. 

V - V for Vendetta by Alan Moore - a graphic novel but truly a novel in its own right. I honestly prefer Watchmen but I feel Alan Moore is at his most Alan Moore-y in this one. No contest better than the movie.

W - Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Leguin - The mythic style of these books can turn some modern readers off. Keeping with that there’s not as much character “development” as modern readers are used to. However, that being said these are some of the most compelling characters and books you will ever meet.

X - I came up dry on this one as well :(

Y - Y the Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan (Again!) - Imagine if all the men on earth died instantaneously except one slacker and his capuchin monkey. This graphic novel series could have gone way off the rails (as far as imagining what an all female dystopia would look like) yet Vaughan writes his female characters with a surprising nuance and depth. 

Z - Zel by Donna Jo Napoli - I read this in elementary school and WHOOO BOY I don’t know who approved that one for children’s shelves but it is definitely a mature retelling of the Rapunzel fairytale. Distinctive voices and no making it less gruesome than the original here.

She’s nice to nearly everybody, and tries her best not to judge others for their situations, seeing as she’s not exactly perfect herself. She’s very affectionate and a genuine person - despite the secrets she keeps from her family - and is super, SUPER smart but tries her best to hide that from people.

In many ways, she can be described as a bit immature and even childish. Not in a bratty kind of way, but more in the naïve-about-the-world sort of way.

Has no restraints in her behavior (blamed largely on her Bipolar), and is very reckless and impulsive because of that, and has mood swings a lot.

Very sarcastic and witty, but moreso in a humorous way than her just being truly nasty (she doesn’t really have a malicious bone in her body).

She experiences highs and lows in her mood and behavior - either feeling depressive or manic. When she’s manic, she gets super obsessive about things and very excitable with the energy of a hyperactive child - always on the go, and her mind is constantly racing with thoughts. When she’s depressed, she gets a bit more aggressive (moodier and snappier than usual - but never outright nasty), has much lower energy, sometimes it’s so bad that she hides away in her room for days and sometimes weeks at a time, drowning out the world. Other times, she goes about her day as normal, but she feels exhausted and worn out while doing so. She takes cocaine and other narcotics to get her through both types of episodes.

She does get suicidal thoughts, occasionally, during her extremely low moments.

She’s well aware that she is a fucking mess (she uses that phrase quite a lot to describe herself), and while she cares, she has no plans of actually stopping. Mostly because she doesn’t know how and also because she loves the feelings her highs give her far too much. She’s secretly very ashamed at how much she actually loves being high.

She suffers from bipolar depression, which contributes heavily to her substance and alcohol abuse, eating disorder and insomnia. Diamond went undiagnosed for several years as a child, and was on a ton of different kinds of meds as the doctors tried to figure out what the hell was wrong with her. She was finally diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at age 13. 

These days, she’s opted out on her medication for actual drugs, to help her cope. Her meds had always made her feel ‘blah’ and icky and she hated that, so she switched to alternate means - cocaine and other narcotics.

She’s a literal genius, but the bullying and hazing that she suffered in high school has caused her to hate that about herself. Her mind is always busy, racing with thoughts and she finds it so hard to turn it off when she’s sober…so she gets high to help her do it for her.

She has a history of being badly bullied during her school years. She was certified a genius at a very young age and so she skipped several grades. She was always the youngest and the smartest, and by the time she got to the age of thirteen, also one of the tallest, despite being years behind everyone else, age wise. She hit a growth spurt between ages 10-13, at which point she stopped growing...not that it mattered, because by then she was already 5′10′’. Literally one of the tallest girls in her class.

Due to her mind always constantly racing and being on autopilot, she suffers from insomnia, as she finds it extremely difficult to sleep because her brain just won’t shut off.

Her drug (and alcohol) addiction is getting more and more out of control, but she tries her best to hide the evidence of it, not wanting any members of her family to find out about it.

She’s always had an aversion to food, also known as ARFID, but it’s since turned into a full on ED and has gotten worse as her addiction to drugs grew and her Bipolar Disorder took over her life. Diamond was practically starving herself. She hardly ever eats anything, even when she feels hungry, but when she does, it’s only ever the bare minimum. Her appetite is just non-existent.

She’s always been pretty thin and frail looking, but she’s getting thinner by the day. She doesn’t notice.

When she’s not working on photoshoots, doing homework for her online classes at the university or dancing, Diamond can be found at any one of the local bars or nightclubs. She practically lives at them - most notably, Genesis and Faux Follie. She thrives on the atmosphere.

Is usually high on cocaine or other narcotics. Rarely is she clean and sober...except when she’s expected to be around her family.

Likes going to a good party, and has a pretty good ‘partydar’ - in which she tends to find parties quite easily. She was such a good girl in high school, and now that she was an adult and living on her own, she felt free to do as she pleased.

Is a trained dancer, and dances with her fellow dance crew whenever she can get the time. She does a lot of hip hop & contemporary, and some ballroom. She loves to often combine more than one form of dance into her routines. Particularly hip hop and contemporary.

LOATHES bullies, given her past with them. She refuses to be a victim, and she will not stand to see others being one as well.

She’s a very physical person so she really loves sex - like, really loves it.

LOVES to cuddle, and is super clingy to those she considers her closest friends and family members.

Has a beautiful singing voice, and isn’t shy about breaking out into song at random, and sometimes in rather inappropriate places.

Is a fashionista and beauty guru. She has a fantastic fashion sense and is kind of unhealthily obsessed - with clothes, makeup, skincare,  nail care, fragrances, etc. It’s only when she’s in the comfortable presence of family and close friends or when she’s experiencing a depressive episode that she is seen not one-hundred percent perfectly put together.

She isn’t superficial or vain or anything - she has no problem being seen without a face full of makeup or whatever - she simply just likes looking her best whenever she’s out in public. It makes her feel good on the outside, because on the inside...she feels like an a total mess.

Of course, because of her obsession with fashion and beauty, it would also stand to reason that Diamond also loves shopping. She’s got a very expansive wardrobe and collection of beauty products...it’s definitely another source of addiction.

Is a vegetarian, and has been for about 10 years...though she currently doesn’t eat much of anything.

- B I O G R A P H Y -

Diamond is the youngest of the Washington family, and it honestly shows. While she is incredibly smart and a fiercely independent young lady, she’s far from responsible and is actually a bit of a mess.

Is close with her family members, but she hides a LOT from them when she's around them. Particularly the fact that she’s a drug addict and that she parties hard and she’s practically starving herself.

She was always a bit of a high-energy child, running everywhere, being unable to sit or stand still for too long. It often drove her parents crazy, because she had a tendency to run off. They’d stopped taking her with them to places with large gatherings because they feared that she’d take off from their side and get lost, or get taken, and it really stressed them out. So up until she started school at age five, she rarely left the house.

The signs had always been there, but once she started school, it became very clear that Diamond was far above her peers in the intelligence department, so her parents had no other choice but to agree to her skipping three whole grades. And while this benefited her academically, it failed to make her fit in socially.

She was bullied from day one, and as the years went on, the behavior never let up. Especially when it came to the other girls in her class. Of course, not everyone she went to school with was mean to her, but nobody ever stood up for her either, and she never really did have any friends; after all, they were all three years older and had no interest in befriending someone younger than them. .

This led to Diamond falling into a deep depression as a kid, and it eventually resulted in her developing and being diagnosed with bipolar (type 1) disorder at the age of 13.

Despite her mental illness and the torment she continued to suffer in school, Diamond never lost her friendly disposition or her trusting nature. She clung to any and all forms of affection shown to her, and she was always ready to return it full force.

With plenty of energy to burn, her mother decided that placing Diamond in dance classes was a good solution, and it was. She was seven when she started dancing.

She excelled in dance, and although she did dabble in many forms, she found her niches in hip-hop and ballroom - two very different forms, but not only was she good at them, she absolutely loved it, as well...However, she found that she loved hip hop just a tad bit more and so that was where she put most of her focus. She always came back to ballroom, though - often incorporating some style of it into her dance routines.

Her dance classes killed two birds with one stone - it allowed her to focus her hyper energy into something creative and positive, and it also brought a handful of friends, which she was sorely lacking, into her life. To this day she still danced with the crew that she grew up dancing with, though it was no longer her sole focus these days. She easily could have become a professional dancer, but chose a different route for herself.

One of her dance friends was a child model and once she found out about it, Diamond had been enamored - and obsessed - with the idea. She’d always had a thing for fashion, practically lived and breathed it, really, and absolutely knew that modeling was what she wanted to do for a living. 

Of course, her mother was quite vocal in her refusal to allow it, as she saw no value in the fashion industry and preferred to have Diamond focus more on her studies, which was always a priority in the Washington household. Her mother believed wholeheartedly that becoming a model was a pure waste of her brilliant potential. Even though Diamond was already doing her best and working her hardest to maintain her excellent GPA, on top of partaking in extracurricular studies / pre-college prep, to the point where she was getting dangerously close to burnt out...it was never enough.

She graduated high school at the age of 15, but instead of starting college right away, as she thought she would, her mother wanted Diamond to intern for a while down at her office. Because she was still a minor, despite already being a high school graduate, Diamond didn't have much choice but to adhere to her mother's wishes...even though she wanted nothing more than to just leave.

When she turned eighteen, Diamond immediately moved out from under her mother’s roof and into the university dorms. Glad that she was finally free of Zae’s judgment and parental control, the first thing she did was put together a portfolio with the help of some of her newly formed college friends and sent it to the top modeling agency in the city, and it didn’t take her long after that for her to get signed. She was sure that her name had some part in that, but she tried to ignore that. Of course, she tried to keep her new occupation a secret - by distancing herself from her family completely, focusing on her classes, but mostly traveling between Chicago and New York and Europe for gigs and events. She was able to keep her career a secret for a whole year, but with her family being so well known, it eventually got out. Diamond handled the fallout pretty well - by ignoring her mother. She was passed caring what Zaeliana thought of her chosen career and lifestyle.

Of course, it didn’t take long for Diamond to overwork and overdo it with both her new career and her courses at the university, and that inevitably began to negatively impact her already delicate mental state. The symptoms of her bipolar disorder began to worsen, to the point where she couldn’t even leave her bed on some days, or she was too manic to focus. Diamond had stopped taking her meds a few months after moving out, as the side effects of them had always made her feel dizzy and sick to her stomach and she hated it, but she’d taken them for her parents’ sake. 

Naturally, without her meds, her depression and insomnia and other symptoms only heightened and got worse and more frequent...which led her to desperately seek out her own form of treatment, to help cope with her disorder. Drugs became the quick fix to shutting off her constantly racing mind, as well as helping her with her insomnia...to a degree. 

And in between everything, she’s all but stopped eating properly. She had always had a fickle relationship with food to begin with, and her nutrition had always been poor, to say the least. But it got even worse. She would go days at a time without any food, and when she did eat, it was barely enough to sustain herself, or she’d overindulge and then puke it up afterwards. Food was just unappealing. A huge part of that had to do with her bipolar disorder, and and another part had to do with her drug addiction and excessive alcohol intake. She was essentially starving herself.

Partying - the drugs and the alcohol - quickly became the norm in her life. When she wasn’t modeling or putting in appearances at paid events, she was seen frequenting the night clubs, and when she wasn’t there, she was busy doing her homework. At this point, her classes were the least of her priorities - an afterthought, really, despite actually liking them and finding them fascinating. Mostly, she passed them because she was super smart and picked things up very quickly and because she tended to read a lot on the two subjects in her spare time (for fun), but she rarely actually studied.

Two years into her degrees, she decided to switch to doing school online, as that was far easier for her to manage her school work whilst also making a respectable career out of modeling. It allowed her to travel when necessary, but still keep up with the work and also keep in touch with her professors.

When her mother was gruesomely murdered right in front of her, Diamond was devastated and instead of coming to terms with it in a healthy fashion, she instead drowned her grief in the drugs and the alcohol, and the partying and sex...preferring to hide it all away than to face it at all. 

Deep down, though - passed the numbness and constant drug-induced haze - she was very angry. Her fierce loyalty to her family incapable of making her anything but.

She hasn’t lived on campus for over a year now, after switching to online classes. Originally moved in with two of her college friends, but recently moved out and is currently living in a two-bedroom penthouse (x) on the northern side of Chicago, all on her own.

Diamond watched her mother get murdered right before her eyes on NYE (of 2019-2020) and the entire event has been scorched permanently into her brain. She will never forget that night fot as long as she lives; it has joined her large repertoire of nightmares.

Diamond was shot during the Washington Gala in May (of 2020) by a masked Vasile affiliate during the shootout. She was shot in the hip, which shattered her hipbone, and she had to have reconstruction surgery on it. She is now fully healed but she still has nightmares from that night.

During the Lights Out event (Nov 28th, 2020), one of Diamond’s kidneys was forcefully removed from her body by one of the Walsh gang members (Cassandra).
