i think spiff described it best when he was talking about so much of the game being like "Well Actually, ☝️🤓"
#sotm spoilers#i dont like edwin being there the whole time and i dont think his inclusion is interesting enough to justify retroactively#shoving things around just to fit him into the old lore#ESPECIALLY not in the way that scott decided to do it#not only that but its also just weird. supposedly the game takes place in 1979 - but fnaf 1 is already being made?#fredbear & friends was 1983 and that is presumably when the fnaf 1 animatronics actually came to be (plus the bullies masks support this)#BUT ALSO theres prototypes for springbonnie and fredbear in the fucking building. implying that THEY werent even done yet?#and that would mean fredbears is still not an established thing. not big enough to justify having all this other stuff going on at least!#also hey#what is scott's obsession with fnaf locations being underground/connected to another building

my ideal fnaf lore (cus the current lore just frustrates me so much):
william and henry are buddies, they start fredbear's family diner together in the 60s or 70s. at that point there are only two animatronics, fredbear and bonnie. by the 80s they've been successful enough to expand the franchise into a pizzeria or two based on new and updated characters they create together. things go great for a decade or so.
henry has one daughter, and a dead wife. william has three kids (two sons and a daughter) and is divorced. henry has a great relationship with his daughter. william isn't as present as he should be for his kids. his eldest, michael, acts out for attention. his middle son, evan, is meek and easily spooked. his daughter, elizabeth, is just a baby and can't do much for herself yet.
while william isn't home, michael bullies evan. william inevitably punishes michael when he comes home, and he'll do the bare minimum of comforting evan, but neither of these make up for his near constant absence, so the cycle continues.
even evan's birthday party is low-effort on william's part. just have it at the diner! william will be there all day anyway, so he doesn't even have to take off work to spend time with evan. never mind that evan is terrified of the animatronics (nothing special happened to cause that. they're just freaky looking), he's just a scardey cat, he'll get over it.
as usual, william is working instead of paying attention to his kids, so michael does what he usually does, and terrorizes evan. unfortunately, this time, michael has friends along as well, which emboldens him to be even worse and more cruel than he usually is.
michael and his friends think it's funny that evan is scared of the animatronics, so they pick him up and force him close to fredbear. evan screams and cries and thrashes, but michael and his friends don't let go. they push evan right up to fredbear's face to "give him a kiss", but evan's thrashing around causes something in the machine to come loose, and the bear's jaws snap shut around evan's head.
evan survives, but he's comatose, and the doctors tell william that there isn't much hope he'll ever wake up.
michael feels awful, but he's an angry, neglected teenager, and obviously can't bring himself to apologize to his absentee father, or his brother. he doesn't even visit the hospital. he and william drift even further apart than they were before. michael rarely leaves his room and william rarely even comes home. eventually, michael and elizabeth are taken by william's ex-wife; another insult on top of the grief of evan's condition.
henry tries to show support to william--he knows what it's like to lose someone. but that just makes william angry. henry doesn't know what it's like, because evan isn't dead yet. "yet". even though william doesn't want to accept it, as the months go by, his son is effectively rotting. william even makes up a hospice-style room in his home for evan, transferring him from the hospital to evan's old room, hoping maybe, that will change something. but it doesn't. evan isn't going to wake up, and if those machines keeping his body functioning were shut off, he'd be fully gone in minutes.
and henry's continued attempts at sympathy only make william angrier. henry doesn't know what its like to lose a child. henry doesn't know the fury of his child's life being taken when they're only a few rooms away. when he thinks they're safe and taken care of.
after "the bite" incident, fredbear's family diner can't get the same patronage as it used to. the pizzerias continue to do fine, but fredbear's has a reputation now, and inevitably shuts down. henry and william shift focus to freddy fazbear's pizza, and place the decommissioned suits for the original fredbear and bonnie in the back room. henry brings his daughter charlotte to work with him more often now, and keeps a close eye on her as much as he can. he even conceptualizes an animatronic specifically meant for security, situated right by the front door.
seeing henry and charlotte, day in and day out, when all of his children have been taken from him, breaks william slowly in a way that's impossible to describe. the anger that was already inside him festers, rots, turns into something much worse.
on a rainy day, during a birthday party being held at the pizzeria, when henry is busy with the chaos, william is pulling into the parking lot when he sees charlotte being bullied by a group of children. they lock away the security bot (the idea of putting it inside a box in the first place wasn't quite well-thought-out), and force charlotte out into the rain, and block the door so she can't get back in.
as william slows to a stop in the lane in front of the restaurant, the thought of bringing charlotte around to the employee entrance and letting her back in doesn't cross his mind. when she sees his car, and recognizes him as 'uncle william', and starts to approach him for help...helping her isn't what he's thinking.
it's a horrid impulse, as she steps into the flooding street to wave at him. but he embraces it. he stomps on the gas. he runs her down and keeps driving, peeling back out of the parking lot and speeding away before anyone could see him.
charlotte doesn't die instantly. she barely clings to life as a crowd forms in the pizzeria windows. as parents and children scream, and someone unblocks the door and opens it. as someone calls for henry. as the security bot, still following its programming to protect charlotte, walks out into the rain and approaches her body. the bot reaches her body before henry does, but there's nothing either of them can do but watch her stop breathing.
there's a small demographic of people who discuss the supposed 'curse' of fazbear entertainment, that caused both owners to lose children within only a few years time. but the hit and run was just a tragic accident, it wasn't the fault of freddy fazbear's. no one saw who did it, and it was chalked up to someone not seeing her because of the rain. business continues to boom, even as the animatronics are beginning to fall into disrepair as henry can't bring himself to work on them.
but william...there's a part of him that almost feels guilt. but it's small. small enough to ignore. the catharsis is stronger. seeing henry grieving quiets the part of william that is grieving his own child. he's able to take over many of henry's responsibilities at the restaurant after it becomes clear henry can't do it himself. he even starts to bring out the original bonnie suit for parties every so often, if one of the other animatronics needs more maintenance than he's able to keep up with. but when he tries to do maintenance on the security bot...it's different. it acts strangely. it seems to lock up and glitch out in his presence. at one point, it swipes one of its arms at him as he works on it, injuring him. the odd behavior continues, and he starts to hear murmurs from the parents in the pizzeria.
"that robot touched that poor girl before she died." "maybe it's possessed."
that's ridiculous. it was pouring rain that day. even if the bot did touch charlotte, possession isn't real, and it's just malfunctioning from getting soaked.
but the security bot doesn't improve after william replaces all the waterlogged parts. they move it away from the front door due to it's unpredictable behavior, but it still lashes out, seemingly only at william.
and he starts to wonder. he can't shake the thought. what if charlotte's ghost is in that animatronic?
william has never been one to believe in the supernatural, but he's running out of explanations for the security bot's bizarre actions, especially towards him. but more than the existential terror of a proof of some form of afterlife, it gives him a frightening bit of hope. if possession is possible...if souls or ghosts exist...if the body isn't necessary for the soul to continue on...
is it possible for him to save evan?
horribly, now that william has taken one life, that dam is broken. whatever moral or mental roadblock most people have that prevents them from killing someone, william has succinctly demolished for himself. if he can get away with it, there's nothing stopping him.
during the larger birthday parties, with more kids present than any one adult could possibly keep track of, william starts hunting. he wears the original bonnie suit, and finds one child that seems isolated in the party, and lures them away, into the back room. he cuts out the middle man entirely, and pushes the children's bodies directly into the suits that are in the back for 'maintenance'. the child's absence isn't noted until much later in the party, and then its largely dismissed if the child's parents weren't present. perhaps they caught an early ride home. or maybe their parents picked them up early. by the time the parents themselves notice their child hasn't come home, william has already gotten rid of the evidence. when the police question him, he insists that he's so busy with the party that he didn't see anything strange. the security cameras? they don't record. they only broadcast live. so sorry, officer.
(its the 80s and they don't exactly live in a big city. the police just shake their heads in disappointment and accept that.)
rinse and repeat.
the reputation of freddy fazbear's pizza does start to dip, for good reason, as four children go missing from parties there. but william, frankly, couldn't care less. they have other locations that are continuing to succeed, but more importantly, williams 'experiments' are also succeeding. the animatronics are all acting odd, twitching and locking up, no matter how much maintenance is done on them. and most notably, they all seem particularly aggressive towards him, although they also don't react well to the other adults in the restaurant.
there's only one animatronic left, one that hasn't been used in years. william still uses the original bonnie suit for "professional" reasons, but the fredbear suit still sits empty, covered in dust in the back room.
on another night when Henry didn't come in to work, after the restaurant is closed and the parking lot outside is empty, william takes the head of the fredbear suit and brings it home. he takes it into evan's room, where evan remains, frail and hooked up to countless tubes and wires.
william feels ridiculous even now, carrying this stupid bear head to evan's bedside, but he just wants his son back. anything to get his son back.
after all, evan had always loved the fredbear doll that henry had given him. (he'd never particularly liked the bonnie doll. go figure.)
there's a certain catharsis william gets from finally unhooking all of the horrid wires from evan. he's thinner and paler than he ever was before, but when he's free of the breathing tubes and the IVs, william finally sees his son, and not just a coma patient.
despite how crass it feels, william lifts his son up and places the fredbear head onto evan's. just the head of the suit is so large that it easily engulfs evan's shoulders as well. it doesn't take long for evan to pass away.
and nothing happens.
that is, nothing that william sees. he takes the fredbear head back to freddy's and connects it back onto the body, setting it back up to be a working animatronic...but it doesn't function at all. months go by, and eventually years, and william never sees the fredbear animatronic move again.
as time passes, freddy's can't seem to keep any staff. the front of house staff only last a few months at best, and the security guards quit sometimes as quickly as after one night. william ends up hiring managers to handle the turnover, and pays them as much as necessary to keep them from quitting as well.
henry drifts away from the franchise entirely, leaving william to his devices. henry never quite trusted william after what happened to charlotte, and that trust completely evaporated as more and more children disappeared from the pizzeria. there was no evidence, and henry never saw anything, but being around william now always just made henry feel...wrong. uneasy. almost afraid.
william creates new characters, new restaurants, he starts up rental services and manages to get cartoon adaptations. fazbear entertainment grows more than it ever did with henry around, but then again, william was always a more cutthroat businessman.
eventually, with all of the newer, shinier animatronics at the other locations, freddy fazbear's pizza becomes old news, and is forced to close down. but william won't leave those animatronics there to rot, or be demolished with the run-down building. he relieves the night guards (they're thankful for that) and returns, night after night, to complete the arduous task of taking each animatronic apart enough to be easily transported. the original bonnie suit is still in the back, the fur matted and mildewing from the years since he last wore it.
then william hears a noise. soft, like the light footsteps of a child. but it must have just been the water dripping from the ceiling. then, a cry, as if he could hear a little boy crying down the hall. whispers, creaking, noises that grow louder and closer, until he sees shadows in the shape of children blocking the door out of the back room.
william panics. live children are one thing, but ghosts are another. he stumbles back, looking for some form of escape or protection. but the only thing left in storage, now that the other animatronics have been disassembled and removed, is the old bonnie suit. maybe that could work.
desperate, william clambers into the damp, rusty suit, praying that maybe the memory of him wearing it will frighten away the souls of the children he killed. but he's barely even able to stand up straight before the locks holding the animatronic parts in place break loose and shoot into his body. he's skewered a hundred times over, his lungs filling with blood, his body contorting to fit the shape of an animatronic endoskeleton. william afton dies in agony on the floor of the same room where he killed so many children.
but if there's anything william knows, its that death isn't always the end. his body stops functioning, but the bonnie suit does not.
no one knows what happened to william afton. the night guard, being the last one to see him alive, could only say he was presumably at freddy's the night he went missing. his car is still outside, and there's blood in the back room, but there's no body. in his absence, the franchise reverts back to henry, who reluctantly accepts taking on that role again. he holds off on the plans for freddy's to be demolished, and has the parts of the original animatronics (found disassembled by the employee entrance) moved to one of the new locations and held in storage. just to be safe. he doesn't authorize the staff of the new location to start using those parts to fix the new animatronics, but they do. and soon the new animatronics start acting off as well.
michael afton, now in his 20s, doesn't mourn his father's disappearance, but he does come to town to speak to henry. henry is honest with him about his suspicions about william, and michael agrees--his father was never the same after what happened to evan, and if that is what drove him to do the horrible things he's done, then doesn't it all lead back to michael? despite all of the guilt and remorse he's held onto from what he did to evan, nothing will bring evan, or the other children back now. but if william is gone, michael may have a chance to find evidence of his father's crimes.
it takes years, but michael searches each fazbear-associated location for any semblance of evidence for what william did. to keep a low profile, he uses aliases to avoid the questions that may come from an afton being in town. unfortunately, all his searching comes up empty, but he does witness the odd behavior of the animatronics first-hand. strangest of all, is that he will occasionally see the crumpled fredbear suit in the corner of his eye, but when he looks, it's not there. the fredbear suit wasn't found in the old freddy's building, and it isn't held in storage in any of the new locations, but michael could swear that he sees it, twitching in the dark.
something is wrong, not just with the individual restaurants, but the entire franchise at this point. it feels tainted, cursed, like a plague that started with the original freddy's has spread to anything else it spawns. they say the fish rots from the head down, but michael would be hard pressed to find any part of the fish that's not rotten by now.
henry feels the same way. he sees the complaints from parents and children about the animatronics. he hears the whispers from business partners and customers alike. and he feels complicit, to a degree, in what william did, even if he can't prove it.
so, henry starts shutting down the locations one by one, for any number of easy excuses--renovations that never happen, gas leaks that don't exist. meanwhile, michael has the animatronics all transported to one place. it's barely better than a money laundering scheme, a pizzeria almost in-name-only, with a small handful of customers each week. but it doesn't need to profit.
when all of the other locations are shut down, and all of the animatronics are transported to the 'new location', as well as one extra rabbit animatronic no one accounted for, michael gives any rudimentary staff the night off and stays late. henry makes sure the entrances and exits are locked. he doesn't hesitate--michael made it very clear that this is what he wanted, and neither of them could think of a better way to be sure this ends.
henry sets fire to the new location, with the animatronics, michael, and michael's father inside. henry watches to make sure it burns to the ground. he makes sure that nothing, and no one, survives.
the building they bought for this location had been in disrepair, and uninsured. it was a huge liability, and they knew it. faulty wiring, not up to code, highly flammable insulation. there was a reason they got it for dirt cheap. and no one would bat an eye at such a hazardous building going up in flames overnight.
henry can't offer closure to the families of the children william killed. and he can't truly be positive that william was even the one who killed them...or charlotte. but he visits their graves, and michaels, every year, and lays flowers for them. he prays they've found peace.
and he prays william never does.
#aly's writing#this got LONG but thats cus im a chatty bitch#this is basically just fnaf 1 2 and pizzeria simulator tbh#i do love the weird ass shit that happens in sister location but i just dont know how it could fit in here#without it getting off the rails#i think the child-snaching animatronics and 'remnant extractor' and shit just makes it too...ridiculous lmfao#i like the more grounded supernatural horror of ghosts and possession#even if ennard forcing himself into michaels body and wearing him like a suit is metal as FUCK#i guess fnaf 3 could theoretically happen years down the line (if you dont give it the satisfying 'william burns forever' ending)#and 4 could easily still be evan or michael's nightmares#if i really locked in and tried to ACTUALLY rewrite the lore i could probably find a way to make that all work too#but this is already like 8 pages long lmao#honestly i like the idea of william trying to create the mimic to replace evan.#but at a base level i do not like the mimic being in fnaf in the first place. at least as the retcon that he is#and in my ideal lore charlotte is never made into a robot. just to be clear lol

RANKING SVSSS CHARACTERS BY HOW LONG THEY WOULD LAST IN FNAF
8. ZHUZHI LANG: the moment he sees an animatronic moving he hides under the table and gives up. Dies night one.
7. SHA HUALING: survives the first night by sheer stubborness. Second night she tries to fight the animatronics. She gets to destroy the cupcake but Chica kills her.
6. YUE QINGYUAN: he listens to the instructions and survives three nights. The fourth night he tried to do it as perfect as possible, gets overwhelmed and dies by a heart attack.
5. LIU QINGGE: he fought lbh for five years and survived he can survive at least four nights. The last night he gets a bit overwhelmed by all he has to do and forgets to check Foxy.
4. SHEN JIU: you could say that for someone who starts the novel dead he would be in a lower position, but sj can multitask and he's not intimidated by the animatronics. He probably kills William Afton the last day.
3. SHANG QINGHUA: I think he would be insecure during the first nights, but by the ends he's just like "meh". He spends the last night writing PIDM.
2. MOSHANG: they don't have the protagonist halo, but again, sqh is great at multitasking and with mobei at his side he has more confidence in his skills. Would survive the five days.
1. BINGQIU / SHEN YUAN / LUO BINGHE: Protagonist halo lbh makes him impossible to kill + millenial sy who probably was a teen when fnaf got out. Both of them survives the five nights, if they're together they complete 20/20 mode and burn the place down when they finish. Sy infodumps and the animatronics are kind of afraid of lbh.
HONORARY MENTIONS:
-MOBEI - JUN: sqh isn't here? Not interested. Doesn't go to work.
-LIU MINGYAN: she's writing toxic yaoi porn the animatronics doesn't want to approach her.
-MU QINGFANG: survives one night, tries to solve the mistery and ends up in the hospital as the victim of the bite of 87.
-QI QINGQI: I think she would come back the second night with an gun ready to shoot the animatronics. She gets fired.
-TIANLANG - JUN: would probably try to fuck Phone Guy. "Oh, the animatronics are possesed? Ha, ha, you're so funny, I love your voice, why don't you help me pass the time? ;)". He gets fired.

another big fnaf youtuber recommendation list
@outtatime asked me for fnaf youtuber reccs because theyre just now gettin into the series, and it's easier to format stuff in a post vs. a comment. so im making a post ^_^ AND so anyone else can access it if they want. i've done this before but i know more people now
GENERAL FANDOM CREATORS (most of these people also make vids about other stuff but have a FNAF focus):
Dawko is probably the #1 fnaf youtuber, he makes general fandom stuff and is always on top when it comes to releasing letsplays, usually the first to make videos about fnaf news, has multiple interviews with people who are involved with the franchise and a few with scott cawthon himself
Andiematronic - another all-around fnaf youtuber! she makes cosplays, has made a functioning fnaf arcade cabinet, plays the games, has review videos, videos about the merchandise and fandom, so on so forth
The Unwithered Truth - REALLY good theories and timeline videos, as well as some REALLY good reboot ideas for the franchise. Genuinely fantastic cannot recommend them enough
NotARealNameNotAtAll - Lots of fandom-centric videos, general analysis and discussion, theories, opinion videos and so on
Ryetoast - Similar to the last one! A lot of theories and discussions about FNAF, also has a podcast where he just rambles about fnaf stuff and answers questions from viewers
M.R. Springs - More focused on videos about the FNAF fandom itself! Talks about stuff the fandom has made (for better or worse), lots of videos about merch & toy lines as well. Largely commentary videos
The ooftroop - Has some fun goofy FNAF "timeline" videos, some art videos, general fandom stuff
DaRegularSauce - Undeniably the fandom's best animatronic cosplayer I think. He literally got hired by steel wool over it
j-gems - Lots of fun SFM animations if thats your thing
Bizabizow has less of a fnaf focus than everyone else so far, but I really like her redesigning fnaf plushies series. shes got some funny gameplay videos too
gomotion, who implied i was going to hell for capitalizing her name last time i made a list, has a lot of good fnaf stuff! she makes other videos too and it isn't her main focus
the chiptide - general videogame stuff, but a lot of fnaf as well! he breaks down the math, science, engineering, etc. behind things and puts them through a more realistic lense. reminds me of how youtube was in like 2014, generally very delightful as well as being educational, thinks william afton is a big stupid dumbass whos bad at his job (and hes right)
COMMENTARY YOUTUBERS (who also have a good amount of fnaf stuff but i wouldnt 100% call FNAF youtubers)
Daggz, Quinnamon, UhYeah, Pastra - These four all make videos about a lot more than just FNAF, but I do recommend em nonetheless ! Daggz does a lot of general mascot horror, Quinnamon has a good amount of fandom discussion videos as well as fnaf stuff, UhYeah does commentary vids about mascot horror but has more of a focus on FNAF itself, and Pastra talks about horror from every direction
Chazington - highly edited, very funny. i recommend him outside of fnaf stuff, he has the least focus on it out of everyone so far i thinkkk
Sagan Hawkes is one of my absolute favorite youtubers of all time and even though hes only made a few fnaf videos im taking this opportunity to shill him. i loooove his stuff. he doesnt really do commentary, he does video essays, but idk where else to put him category wise. really well edited, makes his own music, generally talks about horror
LETSPLAYERS, SPEEDRUNNERS, CHALLENGE VIDEO MAKERS, ETC - These people all have more of a focus on the games themselves compared to timelines or fandom content. everyone here plays other games but have a lot of fnaf stuff
Astralspiff - very chill for the most part, his vids are edited-down streams. Makes challenge videos, exploit/bug related vids, speedruns (!), etc. usually the guy i go to first for FNAF gameplay aside from markiplier. big fan
Backseat streams as well as his main channel - Similar to spiff in that he's very very very very good at breaking games. notably security breach. His videos are EXTREMELY well edited, good at keeping your attention, and are always a treat to watch. Can't really think of another youtuber whos similar to him style-wise, def give em a shot
Chickeninja42 - Lots of obscene challenge runs like trying to beat fnaf 4 with no audio and fnaf 3 with no cameras
TheBones5 does similar obscene challenge runs that usually involve editing the games code to make them more difficult, very technical
8bitryan has a lot of horror letsplay videos but is definitely a huge fnaf fan
BONUS: i converted my spotify FNAF playlist into a youtube one. for all your fnaf fansong needs
i guess i also technically count as a fnaf youtuber
#fnaf#five nights at freddys#im missing a couple iconic ones from this list but these are all folks that i have watched or do watch

hummm.... hai, I've been making art since fnaf pulled me back into a sort of hyperfixation on the franchise recently and I created a whole au (that's currently unnamed </3) the fnaf au is basically me playing with my toys so there are some stuff that have changed n some that stayed the same n yeahh
huhhh the basics for the au is that the humans are gone neow, turned into animals or elves, the robots are gone except for the start of the timeline, there's some magic like to replace certain robot mechaniques (n also cuz souls of the dead children), I'm going for fnaf world vibes in a way + more comprehensible lore? at least to me? umm also stage names meow meow, I think that's important
um here some designs for the au (guess my fav fnaf entry lolz)
there's also Funtime Chica cuz why not, she also gets to be trapped underground and loose her sanity too also I should mention, 1: these designs are post Sister Location and 2: Enard has been shafted, not because I don't like him but because he fits better as combo of animatronic parts n considering I took the majority animatronic stuff away, so ya
also some silly things I did meow meow
I think that's everything I wanna show off...? hum anyways enjoy as I now scurry off to draw (I love to draw
ya know what fuck it, turns your aftons into bunnies

Ok. Is it just me, or is the lore in SOTM absolutely insane?
I can't be the only one who thinks this is ridiculous. I mean the sci-fi bullshit thing was already overstaying it's welcome with the whole remnant collection stuff in SL, then it got weirder with the illusion disks and especially the gas chamber thing, and now this? It's like the lore just keeps getting crazier and more absurd.
Don't get me wrong, I like this game. I have a few gripes with it, but overall I like the gameplay and the storytelling throughout most of it. It's really towards the end where it's giving me an aneurysm.
Like, can we all agree that the underground pizzeria thing doesn't make much sense? This is 1979, right? FNAF 1 comes after FNAF 2 in the timeline, yet they have the FNAF 1 designs for the characters? At the very least, wouldn't it be the Withered models in prototype form?
Also, why would he need this underground pizzeria to create character prototypes? It would be one thing if they were just in a storage unit or something, but this dude built a whole pizzeria underneath the building. How?? And why?? Did he do that??
It feels like they're trying to compensate for the total confusion that was created with the underground pizzeria in SB, but they just added a new layer to the lore that made it even more confusing. Then there's the whole thing with the house and how apparently William took it from Edwin, so now he owns the house, and I guess that's how he got ownership of the place that would become Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental? Again, why would William have any interest in Edwin's house?
There are two things that really peeved me when I saw them: one, adding in Edwin and giving him the title of "guy who actually made most of the stuff"; and two, the crazy ass backstory with Edwin and the Mimic.
I'll start with the character creation thing first. I don't mind Edwin being the original creator of the SB animatronics, it's just the originals that feel weird. It doesn't make much sense to suddenly add in this new character and assign him a role in the story that was previously, for many years, filled by a different person. I know I'm not the only one to ask this, but what the fuck does Henry do then? Henry has been set up for years, starting with the novel series, as the robotics side of the company and the one who made all of the robots, specifically the main 4 and the springlocks. All of that was Henry's domain; that wasn't something they needed to create a new explanation for. We had a guy to fill that role already, and instead of using him at all, they vaguely name dropped him twice to be like "oh yeah he's still here" without clarifying any of the specifics of what Henry actually did. It feels like he's even more invisible than he was before, and now lacks a chunk of the relevancy that made him so important to the franchise. It's left unclear whether Edwin actually made the original cast or if they were commissioned, but he does freak out at one point and said all his stuff was stolen. Even if it was the commission option, it still feels kinda weird. Again, Henry was supposed to be the guy who made the characters, so what happened with that? It would make more sense (to me at least) if their partnership with MCM was for the recording stage and the MCM designs were for Fredbear and Friends or the record album. Now we don't even know if the ideas for the characters belonged to Henry or not, which was something that seemed cut and dry before.
It's not that I don't like Edwin's character, they actually did a nice job of characterizing him compared to the rest of the ones in the franchise, but that's also part of the problem. Instead of elaborating on characters that already existed prior and delving more into them, they just introduce new ones and give them the character depth and lore relevance that is lacking in the original cast. Edwin and his family are given the privilege of having rounded personalities, backstory prior to the main events of the game, and even real human faces to put to the names. Why can't we have that with William and Henry? Henry was in one game. He was unreachable the whole time, dropped a few tidbits of lore about his daughter and his relationship with William, and then he died and was never mentioned again until now. He didn't even specify that his name was Henry, it's implied in the blueprints and assumed from the novels.
Speaking of the novels, Edwin is literally just the novel version of Henry with a new coat of paint slapped on it. They're both neglectful dads who are too absorbed in their work to actually interact with their children, they both made their child cry and had very weird tone-deaf responses to it (Edwin when he scared baby David with the puppet Roxy and Henry when he just took apart that frog toy for Charlie and she freaked out even more), they both ended up as single parents (Edwin's wife died and Henry's wife left and took Sammy), they both live in secluded houses that connect to a goddamn underground pizzeria where the Funtimes were kept, they both built fucking robots to replace their dead child/family member (Edwin did that shit twice), they were both absorbed in their grief and projected that grief onto the robot they built to replace said dead child to the point where the robot learned anger and resentment, and they were both eventually killed by their creation (Henry on purpose and Edwin as an unintended consequence). I thought we left that robot replacing a human thing behind, but here we are again.
The Charliebot thing was weird as hell when it happened in The Fourth Closet, but apparently Scott really likes the idea of a depressed dad rebuilding his child as a robot as their weird form of coping. Honestly, I think the Mimic stuff is worse. The Charliebot thing was already strange with the "four versions of Charlie where one is her doll and one is Circus Baby" nonsense, but now there's a robo-wife who used to be the og Mimic who's now trapped in a computer, and the current Mimic was a replacement for David. I thought the whole point of the Mimic was that it was basically David's best friend and Edwin destroyed it because it kept copying his son after David died, which also happened in the game, it's just that the M2 was supposed to be a new David, and it wasn't even finished when he destroyed it because he had the Henry Emily experience of discarding your batshit project after finally realizing it's not gonna fix your loss.
He kept a robo-wife for like a year and actually treated M1 like it was his dead wife, and now it's trapped in a computer (also M1 is MXES too now so how does that work exactly)? Plus it turns out Fazbear Entertainment wasn't forcing the technicians to get the Mimic because it was M1 the whole time? Did Fazbear Entertainment not notice that a lot of their technicians were being called on projects and then going missing? How long has M1 been doing this? How exactly did M1 manage to call all of these people and know their names ahead of time? I don't understand what the hell is going on here.
Also, what happened to the Mimic after the game? I'm guessing the canon ending would be either the one where you hand the Data Diver over or the Parachute Ending, but then what happened to the Mimic? It stole the blueprints to create more of itself or adapt or something, right? So did it just go back down to MCM and sit there for a while? Oh yeah, that also means that MCM is where the Pizzaplex will be at some point. So not only is that spot both the MCM and the Pizzaplex, but it's also the FFPS location, the SL rental service, and they all connect to the house in SL which was Edwin's but now William owns it or something. It's very over the top and unnecessarily convoluted.
I don't know, it just feels like everything is wrong. It's not like this exact storytelling issue hasn't happened before, this type of shenanigans has been a staple of the FNAF story since FNAF 4 and SL. When Scott makes a game with too many questions that don't have concrete answers or don't make sense, he uses the next game to switch the clarification on parts we thought we understood pretty definitively instead of actually filling in the parts that were needing more information. It's a cycle of trying to fill holes in the story with even crazier stuff that ends up opening even more holes until it's like a slice of mutilated cheese that was run over by a bus ten times.

jason, bubba ,michael and carrie with a s/o who loves fnaf and spend hours talking about the teorys and lore ?
oh yeah baby I know what the fuck is up with this shit right here
Jason
Get's invested because you talk about it so often
Definitely has names remembered and and gives you nods of acknowledgement whenever you re tell him something, signaling that he understands
Its a bit therapeutic for him to hear you go on and on, especially seeing how much your face lights up or contorts whenever you speak about specific timeline events. If only he got to experience this when he was a kid
Hates William with a burning passion. Like whenever he comes up in conversation he wants to combust (real)
His favorite animatronic is Glamrock Bonnie, but hates talking about the theories, makes him sad
Bubba
Just nods and smiles the whole time you talk, just happy to hear you speak to him about cute little animals and whatever the fuck a mega pizzaplex is
Can't remember shit about the lore, but absolutely remembers the names of the animatronics, at least up until the 3rd game
Has both the worst and best times playing the games if you have them. Every jump scare works on him and while he jumps and yells, he can't help but seem to be a bit of an adrenaline junkie and can't wait for another one
His favorite animatronic is Chica, specifically from fnaf 1
Michael
Retains barely any information whatsoever. Picks up on some of the names but just sits there and listens. However, you can't tell if he's breathing heavy under that mask or snoring
Doesn't jump a single time whenever you watch gameplay, who would've thought?
Now that I think about it, would probably get jump scared once and then get embarrassed it scared him so he'd punch the screen and then act like nothing happened for the rest of the day
His favorite is the red one, although favorite is a strong word
Carrie
Takes her a bit to get the ropes of what you're talking about, seeing as it's a form of media she would never be allowed to get into if she was still with her mother
Is as happy as can be while she listens to you speak for hours about the lore and the story line and she gets really emotional about it to
Thinks the story is extremely sad and always puts in her two cents about how awful William is or how bad she feels for the animatronics/kids
Absolutely adores Helpy and hates seeing him get hurt in those minigames LMAOOO

FNAF Movie / / Vanessa x F!Reader
[Not Your Fault Part 2]
Vanessa still couldn't believe you took the stab for her... She does something unthinkable after learning about your fate. Content: Angst, Hurt, Vanessa embracing her Afton bloodline Warnings: Dead Body, Implied Blood WC: 1,340
part 1
Vanessa couldn't remember how long she had been sitting in this chair, with her head in her hands. Her fingers were coated in her dried up tears, new ones still flowing as time went on. Her heart had been beating rapidly for the past hour now, her mind was muddled unsure of what to do next.
Sitting in this hospital room was torture, she had been given space to be with you alone.
"I'm sorry, Y/N," she whispered with a choked sob.
Of course you had succumbed to your wounds, the flatline still rang loud inside of Vanessa's head - she was at least thankful she was there for you when you passed. You had slipped unconscious back at the pizzeria a few days ago and hadn't woken up since, the blonde had prayed you would so she could tell you how she felt.
Mike was here a couple hours before you slipped away, Vanessa had shot him a quick message to let him know. The apologies he offered flooded through quickly, he had asked if Vanessa wanted him there for but comfort but she flat out refused. He didn't push further and left her alone, he went to sit in his kitchen and mourn in his own way. He saw you as a close friend after all, he'd be lying if he didn't have some sort of crush on you.
Vanessa's throat was dry after the sheer amount of sobs and tears that had left her, she felt the dehydration set in a while ago but her body refused to move.
She would never forgive her father for what he had done. For years he had gotten away with the monstrous things he had done, her own fear stopped her from speaking up. That's why she became a cop, to protect others and save others... hopefully to make up for the crimes she had been helping her father hide.
Sometimes she hated having Afton blood flowing through her veins.
Her thoughts drifted towards her father's fate, the one he truly deserved. Those poor children trapped within the animatronics forever. But at least they got their revenge, trapping William Afton with them for all eternity. She was sure they would torture his soul, they may be kids but they weren't afraid to take him down and make him pay for what he had done.
Trapped in that suit forever. Vanessa couldn't help but laugh.
Trapped in that suit forever.
Trapped in that suit forever.
She finally snapped her head up to look at you lying in the hospital bed. A fresh wave of tears formed in her eyes as she stood up and moved towards the door. She glanced back at you before reaching into her back pocket, her fingers finally landed on her police badge that she carried with her at all times.
She brought it up to her face and ran her fingers along it. Too many thoughts were in her head right now, she didn't know which one to listen to.
The power of her status as a cop was about to help her out. She decided to follow her heart, instead of a brain. That my have been a bad idea on her part, though.
The long black bag was placed on the hard floor. Vanessa was running on pure adrenaline as she moved further into the storage room.
She had used her police status to convince to hospital staff that your body was needed for a criminal investigation. Was it highly illegal? Yes. Did she care? Not really.
Getting the body bag into her cop car had been a struggle at first, but she had finally made it back to the pizzeria within the next couple of hours. The place was pretty much destroyed on the inside, the outside still remained intact. She was extremely worried about running into her father again, but she was willing to risk it. For you.
Her eyes landed on the thing she had been looking for, a sinister smile crept onto her face as she moved closer.
She dragged the huge item back towards the body bag on the other side of the storage room.
"I'll help you, Y/N," Vanessa promised, "I can put you back together."
It was a suit. An animatronic suit. A dark purple and black rabbit suit.
Unzipping the bag caused her fingers to shake, she was not prepared to see you again in such a cold state. But she had to push through, she had to do this. She had to.
She successfully separated the pieces of the animatronic suit, her hands flinched away from you briefly before she took a deep breath and decided to just get it over with. She couldn't waste anymore time, she didn't know how much she had left.
Your legs were stuffed into the animatronic first, then Vanessa placed the body part on top of you - making sure your arms were secured properly. Some of the springlocks inside the suit had been set off, causing even more damage to your body. Vanessa tried her hardest to not let the view affect her.
She licked her dry lips before leaning forward to kiss you on the forehead. A tear slipped down her cheek at the feeling of your cool skin.
"You'll be okay, Y/N. We'll be okay."
Then she finally placed rabbit mask over your head.
She stood up and looked down at her work. The purple animatronic lay motionless on the floor, sitting up against the wall. Vanessa tried to control her breathing as she waited.
"Come on... Come on..." she pleaded. Her mind was telling her this was so wrong, but her heart would not listen.
She waited for a couple minutes. She looked down in defeat, ready to scream about how this was so unfair. But that's when she saw it. She saw a single finger of the suit twitch ever so slightly.
A gasp escaped her as she stepped closer, "Y/N?"
The dark hollow eyes of the animatronic soon came to life, a singular white dot in each glowing bright.
The fact that it had worked was a complete shock to her.
A slight twinge of fear flowed throughout her as she continued to watch the rabbit move on the floor, each twitch becoming more noticeable...
You wiggled your fingers, not really grasping what was going on right now. You started to panic, wanting to shout out... But your voice refused to work. You looked around as best you could before deciding to rise to your feet.
"Y/N..." Vanessa.
You turned to see the blonde, who was much shorter than you remember? You soon realised that in fact you were the one who was much taller than usual.
"Is... Is that really you?" she said, her voice shaking, "Come on, give me a sign."
This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening.
You reached forward to grab Vanessa, wanting to demand what she had done. WHY HAD SHE DONE THIS?
But nothing. No voice.
All the blonde did in response to you grabbing her was pull you into a hug as best she could, her small arms wrapped around the large animatronic suit.
"I told you we'd be okay. I'm so happy you're here, Y/N. We'll figure this out together."
You wanted to cry, wanted to scream, wanted to ask why.
Your(?) arms started to move instinctively and pulled the woman tighter into the hug.
Vanessa couldn't help but cry, the happiest of tears flowing down her cheeks at the miracle she had created.
Sometimes she loved having Afton blood flowing through her veins.
If only Vanessa could hear how you were screaming inside your own head. Surely a peaceful death was much better than spending an eternity trapped in a suit.

i am a man of my word. PHONE GUY BE UPON YE (rambling about him under the cut)
i havent talked about him much like at all, so quick infodump on him!!
he's around his early 30's in the fredbear's era, a very loyal employee who keeps working for fazbear entertainment despite the Rather Dismal Pay and Safety Regulations. he's present at the fnaf 1 and 2 locations, and the big scar over his eye is because he got attacked by foxy (his favorite animatronic :pensive:) but he lived!! (lost vision in that eye, however). he's well liked by henry for his dedication and william likes him because he's obedient and doesn't complain much even when overworked LMFAO. but hey at least they pay him... a bit more than the other employees! wow!
he kinda seems a bit shy from a first glance. he doesn't like confrontation and he's self-conscious about the scar on his face, people tend to give him weird looks because of it (he hated being stared at). despite all this he still tries to be friendly and helpful, never really outright rude to anyone. he's logical and likes to think things through before doing them, hates having his schedule thrown off, but he's a diligent worker and very good at planning. he's kinda lonely? he doesn't have many people in his life, his family lives far away (though they still maintain contact over the phone), and he's a closeted gay man and hasn't been able to find anyone to settle down with.
unfortunately for him, the closest people in his life happen to be his bosses and his coworkers, so he feels pretty guilty about the idea of leaving the company - especially when they're so short-staffed anyways. he's also not very rich, and the job isn't really that bad... right? /rhetorical
#fnaf#his last name is collins. because. cause. cause. cause. BECAUSE HES 'COLLIN' YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!#alright ill go now *walks off stage sadly*#anyways hes hittin that anime boy pose jesus christ#tentatively his first name is scott but ive been wanting to change it because i just. do not want him associated with THE scott at all#so for the time being ill either call him by his last name or jags which is the name my brother gave him (and im making his middle name)<3#toxi's art#digital art#artists on tumblr#artwork#illustration#drawing#artistsupport#five nights at freddys#fnaf fanart#phone guy#fnaf phone guy

FNaF World: Object characters? Huh?
Sometimes you're put in a situation where you have to model two characters that are, quite frankly, just objects. And sometimes, you choose to bite the bullet and design them both back-to-back! Presenting: Phone Guy and Sanitation Station!
Phone Guy
Designing a character model for the Phone Guy is quite the challenge since he has no visual appearance; but he's an iconic Five Nights at Freddy's character, so I ought to put him in the hypothetical sequel to the game that celebrates the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. I decided to model a little desk stand based on the one from the first FNaF game, and modeled the phone as a blue vintage landline in reference to his Ultimate Custom Night icon. Here's how it turned out:
(For clarification since it's been a while, top left is the character selection thumbnail, top right is the idle animation, bottom left is the attack animation, bottom right is the "hurt" animation, for when the character is subject to an enemy's attack. This is the process I typically follow for laying out my character animations. Hopefully this format is visible on all versions of this post and won't be inexplicably confusing.)
I'm very proud of it. This sort of "chibi" version of the FNaF 1 desk is kind of cute, in a way. I love the little TVs and the soda cup. There's so much detail on this that can't even be seen, but I don't do this just for practicality; I do it because it's fun, I learn things, and I thoroughly enjoy it! The phone cord has a complex bone setup to allow it to spring properly like a real phone cord does. It's not even visible half the time but it was a ton of fun to set up and it taught me more about armatures and constraints. Anything you make in this software (Blender) is a potential new learning experience. (Especially if you aren't using the ancient 2.79 version like I am.)
Sanitation Station
At first I felt I was grasping at straws for characters, but the more I thought about adding Sanitation Station, the better the idea started to seem. Maybe I've been consumed by madness, but if you take a look at this goober, you might start to see things from my point of view.
Now you may be thinking:
"That one's not even a real character! It's an inanimate object with a face drawn on it! At least Phone Guy has dialog and a personality! Even Trash & The Gang had established actions and personalities in Ultimate Custom Night, but not the Sanitation Station! Why would Sanitation Station be added to the character roster?"
Consider this: the Paper Pals appeared in the original FNaF world, and before that they were only ever depicted as completely static. It wasn't even clear if they were alive or if they were just being moved by the animatronics to mess with you. Sanitation Station actually has an impact on gameplay, which means it has a bigger role than the Paper Pals ever did, and in just one game!
Additionally, I have been adding new defense-based moves to this game concept - something I feel were left unexplored by the original FNaF World - and many of them have to do with safety features. "Threadlockers", "Waterproofing", "Stabilizers", "Repairs", "Bubble Bath" (in reference to the Phone Guy's dialog from FNaF 1), and that's just scratching the surface. The question came to mind: "Who do I give these moves to? Almost every Five Nights at Freddy's character is built around killing you, which one could possibly receive safety-based attacks?" That's where the amazing Sanitation Station comes in! It's a collection of safety items that exists entirely to lower your liability risk in its source material. It's the perfect candidate! And it has a face on it, which makes it a much more reasonable candidate than, say, the automatic security doors. And really, how can you say no to that face?
Additionally, Sanitation Station appears in Ultimate Custom Night, therefore securing it as a recurring character in the franchise, and justifying its position in the FNaF World 2 character roster.
(This is from Ultimate Custom Night, and is not my render.)
As always, thanks for checking out my art, (especially this post in particular, these are not especially popular characters.) I'll catch you on the flipside!

Canon Freddy Fazbear/Gabriel Facts
• The first and classic iteration of the Freddy Fazbear animatronic was built in 1983 by Henry Emily for the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant. (This information has been called into question by Five Nights at Freddy's: Secret of The Mimic)
• In spite of this fact, the Freddy Fazbear character and Fazbear Entertainment brand as a whole are implied to have existed for far longer.
• Freddy's the leader of the pact. Not just when performing during the day, but also when hunting the night guard at night. Although this is hinted at in Five Nights at Freddy's 1 and 2, it's most prominently shown in Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before interactive novel. Scott Cawthon has also stated as such in his first interview with Dawko.
• On earlier nights of FNaF 1, FNaF 2, and The Week Before Freddy sits at the side and lets the other animatronics do the work of catching the night guard for him. But when they fail, he takes the job into his own hands on Night 3 and onward.
• Freddy is always the last character to leave the show stage in the first game.
• Despite their design differences, Withered Freddy and Classic Freddy are the same animatronics. There is nothing to suggest their personalities are any different either. The reason they look different is that Freddy was retrofitted with some of the newer technology from the new and improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant from 1987. The Week Before also states that Freddy was restored to his classic iteration for the Five Nights at Freddy's 1 restaurant.
• In Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Freddy or Withered Freddy likes to move from the Parts/Service, to the Main Hall, then to the Office hall, and/or Party Room 3 then to your Office.
• Withered Freddy carries his microphone where ever he goes.
• In the "SAVETHEM" mini-game from Five Nights at Freddy's 2 the Marionette trusts Freddy enough to ask for his help saving the children William was targeting at the 1987 Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location. However, Freddy was presumably too late and failed to stop the massacre. Regardless, this mini-game reveals that despite leading Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, Freddy takes orders from the Marionette.
• Freddy's shown to be more intelligent, strategic, and calculating than the other animatronics from the first game because he hides in the dark and doesn't move when the player is watching him.
• Because Freddy keeps himself hidden in the shadows, night guards have to track his glowing white eyes in the dark.
• When in his withered state, Freddy doesn't bother trying to hide himself.
• Freddy taunts Mike every time he moves with a deep laugh. In general, Freddy seems to enjoy taunting his victims. This is most evident in his voice lines from FNaF AR: Special Delivery. This shows his sadistic nature.
• Freddy has human handprints on his face.
• Freddy's estimated to be 6 feet tall in his classic form but in his withered iteration he's estimated to be around 7 feet.
• In Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted, Freddy has a child's hat in his mouth.
• In the Parts & Service segments of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted Freddy gets upset when you drop his music box.
• The name of the child whose soul possesses the Freddy animatronic is Gabriel. Even though this was a widely accepted theory since the release of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, it was only recently confirmed by the Dead by Daylight Five Nights at Freddy's collab.
• In the Fazbear Frights story "You're the Band" Gabriel possesses a boy named Timmy after he wears the actual Freddy animatronic head. While possessed by Gabriel, Timmy freaks out when he sees a knife. This, in addition to the fact that William Afton is usually depicted with some form of a knife, may indicate that Gabriel was killed or at the very least attacked with a knife by William.
• You're The Band characterizes Gabriel as short-tempered, authoritative, and prone to tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Interestingly, the story also portrays him as protective over the other animatronics and implies he may see himself as responsible for keeping his friends safe.
Note: Freddy feeling a sense of responsibility over the other animatronics could be why he acts as a leader toward them.
• Gabriel or Freddy's protectiveness of his friends seemingly carries over to his film counterpart as well. In the movie, Freddy is initially aggressive towards Mike when he thinks he's a threat to Abby and the others. Freddy is also the only animatronic to walk over to Mike as soon as he sees him, possibly showing his willingness to protect his bandmates as well.
• Also according to You're The Band, Gabriel likes canned pasta.
• In Five Nights at Freddy's: The Week Before interactive novel the other animatronics (Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy) lay low the first night Freddy leaves the stage to give him room to explore. Throughout the book, the animatronics seem to be trying to avoid him. The book suggests that this is because they're afraid of Freddy. Although the reason is never explicitly cited, it's likely they are intimidated by him as he's their leader or they're afraid of his short temper. Maybe both.
• In one of the endings of The Week Before, Freddy takes a bite out of Mr. Cupcake and sends him flying through the air after Ralph tosses him into a vent. Chica gets scared, takes the now-deformed Mr. Cupcake, and leaves Ralph alone. Freddy bites and kills Ralph shortly after Chica leaves. He likely did this to Mr. Cupcake to send a message to Chica, showing why the other animatronics could be intimidated or afraid of Freddy. That said, this isn't the canon ending route of the book; but it can still inform our ideas of Freddy's canon characterization.
• In The Week Before Freddy is revealed to either bite your head off or twist your neck to kill you depending on his mood. The Five Nights at Freddy's movie appears to show this as well, as in Freddy's kill scene he bites Max in half.
• The Week Before implies that Freddy playing Toreador March is his way of challenging the night guard to fight him.
• It is extremely likely that the ending of the Pizza Party level from Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted is a representation of how Gabriel was lured and killed by William Afton on his birthday.
• It's worth noting that in the Pizza Party ending, Chica and Bonnie both have party hats. In the Into The Pit novel, the missing children are shown to have party hats after they were killed. This might mean that Gabriel was the third to be killed by William in the Missing Children Incident.
• Considering the fact that Gabriel's cake in the pizza party ending has seven candles, we can make the assumption that Gabriel was turning seven years old he died.
• Gabriel's soul makes an appearance in The Fourth Closet novel wearing a black and white striped shirt. This isn't consistent with the graphic novel adaptation of the book, which depicts Gabriel as wearing a yellowish green long-sleeved shirt with an orange collar and light blue jeans.
• The Fourth Closet graphic novel shows Gabriel as being dark skinned with bushy hair. These design features don't carry over to his (presumable) film counterpart. That said, the name of Freddy's soul is never stated in the Five Nights at Freddy's film.
• Freddy's soul in the film is smart enough to lure Max with a projection of himself to his animatronic vessel to kill her.
• Freddy, like the other animatronics, only kills people he sees as threats to himself and his friends. This was first shown The Silver Eyes novel trilogy but has been shown in You're The Band and the film as well.
• Based on the scrapped Freddy Fazbear's Pizza theme song from Help Wanted, during the day Freddy's laid-back, easy-going, and happy-go-lucky, despite coming off as a big brown bear. He also describes himself as a "real fun loving guy."
• Despite how mysterious and silent he is in most of his appearances, Freddy's voice lines from FNaF AR: Special Delivery depict him with a dark and snarky sense of humor. They also show him to be sarcastic and a bit sassy.
• Freddy's canon voice is deep and a bit glitchy, usually starting off as deceptively friendly and laid-back, and then slipping into a much more menacing and low-pitched tone by the end.
• With similar technology to the funtime animatronics that allow costume plates to be opened immediately, Freddy's bow tie allows the torso to open when the button is pressed for easier access to the innards. This is shown in Help Wanted.
• Help Wanted also shows that his endoskeleton includes a safety latch, which is a strange metallic black and yellow wire that can extend a metal bar to lock it in place. Freddy's endoskeleton features a red button that powers said safety latch. Freddy's music box is tucked safely to the left of Freddy's endoskeleton.
• The Rules For Safety poster from the East hall corner from Five Nights at Freddy's 1 tells children not to touch Freddy specifically. This could mean that he doesn't like being touched.
• In the original version of The Silver Eyes novel, Freddy's the only animatronic whose eyes glow red. His eyes also glow red in Help Wanted and most notably the film.
• In The Silver Eyes Freddy picks up and throws several tables at robot Charlie. This was not included in the graphic novel version.
• Freddy was dismantled by William Afton at the Five Nights at Freddy's 1 iteration of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, years after the restaurant's closure and abandonment. This is shown in the Follow Me mini-games from Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
• What remained of Freddy after the events of Follow Me was taken to the horror attraction the main gameplay of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 takes place in, Fazbear's Fright. Throughout the game, you can see Freddy's limbless animatronic shell outside your office. In this state, Freddy can't attack the night guard.
• According to the newspaper article that appears after completing Night 6/Nightmare in Five Nights at Freddy's 3, Fazbear's Fright burned down. Since Freddy's remaining parts were in the building, we can conclude they burned as well.
• Although it's unclear which ending of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is intended to be canon, the Happiest Day mini-game from the good ending of the game depicts Gabriel and the other missing children's souls being set free from their animatronic prisons. Interestingly, the mini-game also shows Gabriel being the first spirit to arrive to the Happiest Day party. This seems to suggest that if the Good Ending of Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is canon, Gabriel was the first of the missing children's souls to be set free.

SotM thoughts (spoilers ahead)
idk if I can explain this coherently (I need sleep lol) but I keep thinking about the fact that Chica was already a fully fleshed character at the time of SotM. She was Fiona's design, with a completed animatronic and her own restaurant location (or at least, a commercial for one) while the other fnaf 1 characters were still in production.
I keep coming back to the UCN line "I was the first. I have seen everything." I mean, we all assumed it was just about Susie (before we knew about MCM, it was generally accepted that Fredbear and Springbonnie were the oldest animatronics) but I guess it's true of Chica as well. Is it just a coincidence that the first kid William killed ended up possessing the oldest character? Could this have any significance or is it just a cool connection?
#on a side note I was a little sad that proto-Bonnie didn't have the pre-retcon guitar but I suppose the copyright stuff still applies lol#rambling of a bean#fnaf#sotm#secret of the mimic#sotm chica#sotm prototypes#party time chica

Fazbear Entertainment Stole Everything
Spoilers for Five Nights At Freddy: Secret Of The Mimic below.
So in Secret Of The Mimic bit by bit we see stuff created by Edwin Murray in which Fazbear Entertainment seemingly had taken for themselves. Mr. Helpful became Helpy, an orange and purple elephant costume became Orville, and Maestro Music Man became Music Man.
As we go on some of the themes of the original FNAF game and one that has been seen alright throughout the franchise begins to rear it's ugly head. For example, FNAF 1 you had the covers up of deaths and the pink slip firings for absurd reasons. In Pizza Sim you have all the ways Fazbear Entertainment has to deal with the player character, which is being run by Henry keep a pin in this. Overall a theme of your typically corporate greed and abuse of workers. Which we see in this game with while Edwin does it to others at times, Fazbear Entertainment does it to him putting him in debt and taking everything, and I mean everything. With William and Henry working together to actively sabotage the Fazbear project by changing things, and using moles to poach his employees.
Later on we eventually find out that Foxy and Roxy were both characters created by Edwin as puppets for shows and weren't the creation of William or Henry. By extension we see that Edwin's company created Chica who was used in Chica's Party World. But then we eventually get to see how much they actually took from Edwin.
Throughout the game we hear mention via recordings of a Fazbear Project, a project Edwin helped work. And then we get to see the full extent of what was taken. We come across a room strikingly similar to the FNAF 1 location with prototype animatronics which include Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Monty. Alongside this we find prototypes for Fredbear and Springbonnie which are springlock suits, and earlier in the game we learn that Edwin was the one who created the first springlocks which is used earlier in the game. Meanwhile Henry was using inferior copies that couldn't withstand water and fall damage like Edwin's could.
So not only did Fazbear entertainment take all the characters Edwin had created from him after drowning him in debt, but all his technology from the springlock suits to what would become Fazwrenches.
Now you may think, well maybe they at least came up with Freddy/Fredbear and Springbonnie/Bonnie. They didn't. So in the prototype FNAF 1 location you can find a recording made by Edwin that says the following. "Are they insane? The look of these new animatronics is Fiona's design and they're great. First they approve the art. Then they approve the proofs. Now they change their minds when we're so close to final. Why would they change them now? Are they pulling my leg? The new concepts are frankly creepy. It doesn't matter… I'm not changing a single bit of her work, and they can't make me." This implies the animatronics are all designed by Fiona and by extension all the characters were designed by her.
This actually means while Henry tries to take credit for the animatronics creation in the Pizza Sim, he is a liar. Both him and William stole everything from Edwin. None of the characters or technology are theirs expect maybe Freddy/Fredbear and Bonnie/Springbonnie. But again the designs aren't their's.

2 things haunt my mind, 1. Dick is literally like an animatronic from fnaf, like his eyes, how he shows up out of nowhere… HIS EYES. 2. The detention scene from the bratz movie
Dick is a fnaf jumpscare: confirmed.
He is the main reason why Maximoff has high blood pressure. Someone put a bell on him so she at least knows he’s nearby. I always imagine the jaws theme song whenever he’s about to pop out of nowhere.
And omg??? I’ll take it as a sign to rewatch that iconic movie. I have always been a Bratz girlie 😭✨💖
