i think one of the weirdest things i see from Internet Commentary Folk is the assumption that anyone who consumes non-intellectual YouTube content or whatever has to be a child. (like, a Minor, not just a young adult.)

remembering a few years back when there was a slight Tiff Around The Internet about the Game Grumps selling fursona body pillows of themselves because their fanbase had to be children, of course, it had to be minors, how gross it is for two adult men to sell body pillows of themselves to kids.

...which is obviously very gross, except the GG demographic is not and has never been Minors, i'm p sure. young people who are adults, sure, and i'm certain many minors watch, but they never geared their content towards 13 year olds.

God, yeah, it's always hard to differentiate between porn that features something and porn that really focuses on something to an uncomfortable degree. Interracial, for example, is a coin flip between sex that happens to have two people of different races going at it versus Yeah My Black Dick Is Better Than White Dick Isn't It kinda stuff. It's real frustrating as someone who's mixed race myself.

my experience of the interracial tag is that's it's basically always specifically racist. if i'm looking for a nice wholesome gangbang i always have to check the thumbnail for who all is going to be in it and then make sure that it DOESN'T have the interracial tag because if the tag is there it's going to get weird. i'm not here for that. i just don't want to see a gang that's all white guys because then it feels like a hate crime. if you didn't know a single brown guy you could invite to the gangbang i don't trust you.

the s1 remaster negativity is killing me 😭 now listen i am of the idea that s1 is beautiful as she is and that it shouldn't be erased (which it isnt being erased!) but its not unreasonable or unnecessary for AE to want to reboot it.

i think they're reasonably a little embarrassed by it and not because its poorly animated or they found walmart funny at 13 years old or the fact that it has angry birds and annoying orange and everything a teenager laughed at in the early 2010s. its because of the blatantly ableist tropes they (unknowingly at the time) implemented and all those really weird racist jokes they were finally able to cut out via youtube editor because they've grown and changed as people. rebooting s1 gives them the chance to revisit all that as well as other things (the TERRIBLE sound mixing, lightbulbs sudden transgenderification, the way brian talks about it being canon in this stream really makes me think they're gonna revisit that)

i do think there's a reasonable chance the crustiness of s1 will remain if its a reBOOT and not an HD remaster. while they did go back an redo all the thumbnails years ago, theres a newly animated section during karma waits (the halloween episode section) resembling the old style (all of which was done by adam himself!) and i really don't think they'll backtrack on the old style since its been implemented in various other instances. and in terms of the humor and shit i would hope they wont change much? but all in all they do keep the meta-narrative of ii in mind (brian has talked about iii also being a sort of escape for the cast) and i don't think they'll change too much going forward in that case.

overall its not invalid to feel. Weird. but i dont think assuming the worst possible scenario is for the best!! be aware that we literally haven't seen anything yet!!! yknow. stay tuned and all that shit

here’s a 1920s-inspired pin-up dreadlock twist hairstyle that is a modern take on the finger wave hairdo. finger waves have been a staple in the black community for decades as it was very popular during the 1920s, 1930s, 1990s, and even now as we enter the 2020s. this hairstyle was largely inspired by these two pictures here and here so huge credit to the hairstylist aggie_hair on ig for making this beautiful innovation! my hair is named after the new york neighborhood of harlem and specifically the harlem renaissance. if you don’t know, the harlem renaissance or the “new negro movement” was a vibrant african american cultural movement that happened during the 1920s and 1930s. similar movements also happened in other cities throughout the american north due to the occurrence of the great migration where thousands of african americans moved up north to escape violent racial discrimination and persecution enforced by the racist jim crow laws in the deep south (although life in the north wasn’t that much better). i would love to say more as this is one of my favorite historical periods to research/learn about like ever but, i highly encourage y’all to do your own research on it (especially if you’re nonblack and/or not familiar with african american history) and learn about the several artists, thinkers, and innovators of that time period! tysm for reading and again tysm to my lovely testers! <333

Look, the last thing in the fucking world I want to do is set Dan and Phil up, because there's nothing unhealthy about their relationship. They've been together for fifteen very happy years. But yeah that's very public knowledge that Phil was a famous content creator and Dan was a fan and they got together at 22 and 18, respectively.

Also public knowledge? That Dan in his early twenties used the r slur on twitter, sexualized queer women in thumbnails, fought with fans on tumblr in way too parasocial away including with graphic sexual references, and made some racist remarks typical of his age and humor at the time.

And if you're thinking 'wait, but dizzy, there was CONTEXT to all of that' - you're so right! It's almost like situations are rarely black and white, and that people can start from a place of immaturity in their teens or can lash out when enduring emotional trauma and still processing things. And that they can then grow from that point and shouldn't be continually crucified for things they did years ago.

It's almost like fans and other content creators shouldn't get to pick and choose who gets grace to age and grow and who doesn't.

I feel like lily/cd call now has this strange ripple effect where the people that criticised her or called her out also turn out to be awful or at least morally dubious people. I wont name names, this is not supposed to be a call out post, this is just expressing personal feelings. Im specifically talking about two content creators who were critical of lily in mind. One of them made a lot of videos on lily in 2024-25 while the other only made a few back in again, 2024-25. They are kind of polar opposites in terms of presentation - one is unapologetically blunt and not so pc to put it lightly (e.g calling lily the r slur) and their criticisms are in forms of livestreams while the other presents more professionally with videos (one of them was a livestream cut but still it counts) but what they have in common is that - both make valid points on lily. Their criticism of her in general is solid. That is why I watched and used to be subscribed to their channels. And they also are online associates, appearing in each others livestreams, one doing thumbnail art for the other. If your in the lily critical space, you will know exactly who I'm talking about.

So when the incident occured when one of them used racial slurs, not just the n word thats censored in a poor way, but also said the uncensored slurs against chinese and pakistani people (which unlike the r slur, isnt even their place to say) it really turned me off. I disagreed with them on some things before but the racist language used irresponsibly really didn't sit right with me but what really ticked me off was their defence for blackgryphon acting predatory to minors on deviantart, with it being that devianart families and that kind of interaction was common back in those times. Which is not only a bullshit defence on its own but also goes against their morals they displayed online as they believed online families like lio convoys were suspicious, yet they still used it to defend what is clearly a child predator. Idc how long ago was it or even the marriage, talking like that to minors is predatory and should be called out as such. Its disgusting how they defend child predation. Yet they had the gall to call courtney a hypocrite for also being predatory to kids even though they still dismisses blackgryphon's predatory behaviour to kids. It turned me off from them and their content completely.

For the other, it was because I found out (and it was just by clicking who they credit for one of their critical videos on lily) that they paid someone who openly does incest rottmnt art that sexualises the teenage cast. Suffice to say, I was disappointed.

I just wanna get this out of my chest without stirring attention from those two creators so please do not harass them and ping them with this. It feels disappointing to see the current critics of an awful person also not being great people themselves. And although I experienced this before, this feels even more exhausting because I used to actually liked them and enjoyed their content. A shame really. Also I wanna express it here cuz people are expressing their own criticism of those people in that stupid impersonation account by anons. If you want to express criticism safely, dont do it to a troll account that made a sexual "joke" about one of their actual wife please. You can express frustrating in the comments here or just write it out in a google doc or diary. That would be more healthier and your not giving a creepy troll attention just o hate on someone else.

to be frank I have a Lot of Kilian = Frollo thoughts. The entire first half of the song up to the discovering of Quasimodo feels like some sort of vaguely fableized version of Kilain’s rise to power. “He saw corruption everywhere except within” is a fucking fascinating line for him and a genuinely complex question about his morality. He hunts and persecutes other supernaturals like he believes the racist hype and yet he IS one. What does that say about him? Who is the monster and who is the man? Who in this story can genuinely say they aren’t a monster? So many crunchy thoughts nothing to do with them.

let's look at it

firstly, the nose...it's drawn as a flat, button nose which is a prominent feature associated with black people

then the prominent upper lip, it even being colored in is an interesting detail. the thing about black people is that our top lip is darker than our bottom lip, so i wonder why taffer colored that :P

the hoop earrings are also really a dead giveaway. sai has never drawn her little character wearing earrings, or with much fem clothing if we're not counting her dressing herself up as canon characters for thumbnails

hoop earrings and or big earrings in general can be used as a stereotype for "ghetto", black women as well.

and last but not least, this was defo traced. like crim pointed out, the body and face has a lot of dimension and detail added to it, while the hair is flat and lifeless, and the eyes being drawn from the wrong angle

It's... unclear. But for whatever reason @sneaky-taffer gave me big hoop earrings in her depiction of me which what about me would make her think I'd wear those or any earrings at all?

Crim speculated she traced it or based it on a racist caricature cause it just had that stink to him. Can't really know for sure. But it's definitely a puzzling detail.

And yes I did a similar drawing of Lily in my thumbnail cause she used it in the video we were reacting to lol.
