I haven't really done much art for tumblr (at all) lately, cus life, but! Here's a lil something I've been working on (it's a Xmas gift) 💙

(also peep that lil January calendar painting 👀 i did mini squares for each month for myself, because I need to have a physical one always, and they each have their own colour 🥺)
#sometimes i forget i'm a painter lol#this is just the base so i'll still add some cool stuff (colours and some gold leaf details hehe)#usually my thing is more flat/less busy painting (with more mixed media) but i've been digging this vibe lately#my art account is completely wiped cus i private everything earlier this year (same with personal)#but i wanna start posting again. not just old stuff but actually *make* something new everyday#like a little challenge i suppose#since i'm not currently working in my field and have being going through a bit of a rough adjustment period about ✨things✨#(plus the whole depresh spiraling)#i barely have been making any art at all that isn't just sketches/silly stuff#i miss painting. i miss making murals and working on an actual project etc#now that *some * things have been settled AND i finally have my own space i feel a lot more keen on working on it#i know i hardly ever talk about that part of my private life cus i do wanna keep it somewhat separate from here#but i guess i'm in a good mood and kinda ready to admit some stuff#??? that didn't make sense#i'm feeling hopeful for next year and have a semblance of a plan. That's what I meant there you go#i can already feel myself cringe cus everytime i share these type of things something ALWAYS bites my ankles#and that's why i hardly ever share anything at all with anyone ever until it actually is done or underway#which is! not good! i'm aware! but. ya know#ANYWAYS. rant over. look at the pretty colours and ignore my rambles#hmmmm my band crush guy (platonic) (guess who) (🕊️🥁) said my name and loved my super insightful question and i'll probably dream about it#(and the other really liked it too. MY BABE. it was kinda silly so very unexpected)#(okay i think this is buried deep enough to not make myself look like a 12 with a stupid crush) (hehehehehe)#darya does art#<- sure in the art tag it goes#blue#(it was a coincidence! i've never done anything exclusively blue before actually!) I like to think of Tim and Damian as the Batfamily artists. (In my mind Cass dances, Jason writes, and of course Dick is an amazing performer but I’m referring to traditional visual arts you’d view in a gallery) but in entirely different styles and mediums.
Damian’s love of art is expressed through capturing fleeting moments. He sketches, uses markers and color pencils, and even carries around an urban sketching kit for quick and loose watercolor paintings. He loves capturing motion and life, his cat sunning itself, Dick mid jump, even bold watercolor sketches of Batman mid punch. He spent so long hiding his own emotions or dissecting everyone else’s that he just wants to express and capture them for his own enjoyment now. A moody pen and wash because he’s sad or bright bold pops of color with markers to capture Jon’s joy. The family still argues over what idiot gave Damian paint pens and spray cans and taught him about graffiti but he’s tagged most of Gotham and half of Metropolis at this point. Some blame Duke and Jason, some Dick for always indulging Damian’s less serious side. No one ever guesses it was Tim. Tim was SO very proud of Damian’s bold protest art that showed up all across the front entrance to city hall overnight.
Tim’s mediums of choice are VERY different. For artistic expression his first choice is always his camera. Tim is able to take the most stunning photos that leave his audience breathless. Partly for the drama and action in his shots and partly out of terror because there’s no way Tim was able to take that shot while holding onto anything but his camera while hurtling through the air over a firefight! What the hell Tim I can see the reflection of that gun’s muzzle flash on my helmet’s lenses! How are you not dead?! How did I not fucking SEE you?!
His other medium is oil paint. Tim loves the precision and planning in his painting. The only original paintings he’ll make is the occasional formal family portrait for Bruce when he asks. No, Tim discovered his love for painting when Bruce sent him to learn about art forgery during his training days. Tim fell in love with the half art, half science of it all. He loves figuring out how to match the chemical fingerprint of 16th century paint, to copy it so exactly it would take 10 years before someone realized it wasn’t decaying at a rate consistent for the authentic historical paint. He loves studying the techniques of great masters until not a single brush stroke can be found to differentiate them. Mostly he makes his forgeries for his own amusement or to study how a forger he’s investigating did theirs.
Secretly though, he’s done a couple favors for a few people. Selena has approached him a few times for a replacement to put in some rich, dangerous man or other’s private collection so the original can return to the countries they actually belong to without a blood bath. Constantine has also called in a few favors so he can burn a possessed/cursed painting or three without museum curators pitching a fit that he “destroyed a priceless work of art, you maniac!”. Bruce pretends desperately that most of his Robins are not a hop and a skip away from a successful and fulfilling lives as criminals. It helps him sleep a bit better at night.

THE VILLAGE SQUARE WAS a kaleidoscope of lights, colors, and laughter. Lanterns hung from just about every surface, casting a warm, golden glow over the cobblestone streets. The air was full of sweet scents, coming from every corner of the small town.
You weaved through the large crowd, taking in all of the sights and sounds. It was beyond anything you’d ever experienced. Being a new resident to the town, you couldn’t understand what all of the excitement was about over one festival but now you felt the same way everyone else did.
Melodic strains of the village’s music played, causing people all around to dance together, not caring if they were strangers to one another. You smiled, the sight somehow bringing you joy.
After walking a few miles, an older shop catches your eye. The traditional decorations hanging outside the tiny building, with a crescent moon sketched on the wooden door. You opened it to walk in, the small bell ringing as the door moved.
You were greeted with the sharp tang of an earthy aroma of dried clay and the rich smell of more wood from the easels, frames, and shelves. The subtle hint of fresh pencil shavings, and the crisp scent of new canvases waiting to be transformed.
A few employees smiled and waved at you, their kindness making you feel welcome as you got ready to explore this new environment. The store was quiet; the only noise being a few painters conversing with one another, the low traditional music that played in the background, and pencils or paintbrushes moving against the canvases.
You walked further into the shop, wandering around the shelves to look at different tools and paintings that had been hung up on display.
You ran your hand over the wooden shelf, another crescent moon etched into the dark surface.
This town is serious about the moon, you thought.
You continued your mini journey through the aisles, amazed by some of the artistry inside of them.
But a certain painting seems to pique your interest. You let your feet guide you to the image, captivated by the delicate brushstrokes that brought the scene to life. Just as you let your fingertips graze the painting, another hand brushed against yours. Startled, you pulled your hand away at the same time as the other person’s, causing the art to fall to the ground.
“I’m sorry,” you quickly apologize to the stranger, before you both chuckle at the small incident. The stranger crouches to pick the canvas up from the ground, holding it with a firm grasp.
You look up, only to see a much taller male in front of you, dressed in all black with a paint splattered apron tied around his waist. His eyes sharp but filled with surprise as he stared back at you.
His beauty captivated you in a way. In a way where you couldn’t even find your words or perhaps even start a conversation.
You both stood silently until he sucked in a breath, hesitant on whether he wanted to say something.
“So, uh—, arts’ your thing, too?” He glanced at the painting in his hands and then back at you, a gentle smile making its way to his face.
“I guess I’ve found it kind of interesting lately,” you beamed, feeling a bit more at ease. “What about you?”
“Yeah, uh, this is mine actually..” He trailed off. Your eyes widened in surprise, suddenly feeling guilty for the incident that had occurred a few minutes earlier.
“Oh, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to knock it down, I was just curious, and—“
He looked down, chuckling, “It’s no problem. I was thinking of chunking it anyway.”
Your brows furrowed in confusion, “But it’s way too good for you to just throw away like that.”
He shrugged, still smiling a bit. “I don’t know.. I’m just not too fond of it.”
You tilted your head, curiosity piqued. “Why’s that? It seems really beautiful to me.”
He looked at you with a spark of enthusiasm in his eyes. “Well, if you’re interested, you can make your own. I give mini-lessons from time to time. If you’re free, I’d be happy to show you some techniques.”
A smile crept onto your face. “I’d love that.”
“I’m Riki, by the way.” He extended his larger hand.
You shook his hand, the warm and firm grip making you feel as if you had butterflies in your stomach.
“Y/n.”
The sunlight filtered gently through the shop's windows, casting a warm, inviting glow over the art supplies and canvases. You arrived at the store a bit early, your excitement barely contained. Riki was setting up a small workspace in the back corner, his movements precise and deliberate. The room was filled with the rich scents of paint and wood, a comforting backdrop for the lesson ahead.
“Hey,” Riki greeted as you walked in, his smile making your heart flutter. “Ready for your mini-lesson?”
You nodded, trying to maintain a calm exterior but feeling a tingle of nerves. “Definitely!”
Riki’s eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as he motioned for you to join him at the small table. “Alright, grab an apron and we’ll start with some basics. I’ll show you how to create depth and texture in your painting.”
You took one of the dark aprons off of the hook by the door and took a seat. Riki’s proximity made you acutely aware of his presence. He stood close enough that you could catch the faint scent of his cologne mingling with the earthy aroma of the paint. As he demonstrated the brushstrokes, his hand occasionally brushed against yours, sending a shy smile to your lips.
“Alright, so you want to use a light touch for the highlights,” Riki said, his voice warm and encouraging. He leaned in slightly to show you the technique up close, his face just inches from yours. The closeness made your cheeks warm, and you found it hard to focus on the painting as you became acutely aware of the soft sound of his breath and the gentle way he spoke.
“Like this,” he continued, guiding your hand with his own. His fingers were careful and steady, and you felt a gentle pressure as he helped you maneuver the brush. “The key is to layer the colors gradually, so it builds up the texture without looking too harsh.”
His hand lingered on yours for a moment longer than necessary, and you couldn’t help but glance up at him. Riki’s eyes were soft, and his smile was reassuring. “You’re doing great. Just remember to relax and let the brush do the work.”
You nodded, trying to steady your breath as you followed his instructions. The way he spoke to you, with such patience and attentiveness, made your heart race. Each time he leaned in to offer guidance, you felt a flutter of shyness but also an endearing sense of comfort.
Riki moved to the other side of the table, giving you space but still offering occasional tips and encouragement. “You’re really picking this up fast,” he said with genuine admiration, his voice carrying a note of pride. “You have a natural eye for detail..”
You blushed at his compliment, focusing on your painting with renewed determination. “Thanks. I’ve really enjoyed learning from you.”
He smiled warmly, his eyes reflecting a hint of something more than just professional interest. “I’ve enjoyed having you as my ‘student’.”
As the lesson continued, you found yourself growing more confident. Riki’s careful instruction and the way he interacted with you made the experience both educational and heartwarming. Every time he offered a correction or praised your work, it felt like a gentle nudge toward something greater.
By the end of the session, you were both smiling, the painting before you a testament to the techniques Riki had shared. “I think you’re ready for more advanced techniques next time,” he said, his eyes twinkling with enthusiasm. “But for now, you’ve done really great.”
You beamed, feeling a mix of accomplishment and affection for the kind-hearted teacher who had made your art journey so special. “Thank you. I can’t wait for our next lesson.”
As you packed up your things, Riki’s gaze lingered on you with a warmth that made your heart skip a beat. “I’m looking forward to it too,” he said softly. “See you soon.”
You left the shop with a smile, carrying not just the knowledge of painting but also the warmth of a shared connection.
A few days later, the festival was in full swing again, but this time it was a different night. You decided to take a quiet walk to a nearby beach, not too far from the festival setup. The moon hung low in the sky, casting its silver light over the ocean waves.
You carried with you a small set of painting materials, inspired by the techniques Riki had taught you. Setting up on the sand, you began to paint the scene before you: the moonlit waves and the gentle shimmer of the water. With each brushstroke, you used the tips he had given you, trying to capture the serene beauty of the moment.
The night was quiet, save for the soft sound of the waves and the occasional distant laughter from the festival. As you worked, you felt a sense of peace and contentment, lost in the beauty of the moment.
After a while, you sensed someone approaching. Turning slightly, you saw Riki walking towards you, his eyes bright with curiosity and admiration. He stopped a few feet away, watching you paint with a soft smile on his face.
"Hey," he greeted, his voice gentle. "I didn't expect to find you here."
You smiled back, feeling a flutter of happiness at his presence. "I needed some quiet time to practice. I’ve been kind of inspired."
Riki moved closer, sitting down next to you on the sand. His proximity was comforting, and you felt a warm sense of connection as he admired your work. "You've really captured the essence of the scene," he said, his eyes scanning your painting. "It's like seeing the world through your eyes."
His compliment made your heart swell with pride. "Thanks.. I’ve been trying to use the techniques you taught me.”
“Oh, really?” He raised an eyebrow, a playful smile on his face. “My techniques?”
You chuckled lightly, nodding, “Yes, your technique.”
You continued to paint, occasionally glancing at Riki, who watched with genuine interest.
The moonlight cast a soft glow on his features, making the moment feel even more magical. After a while, Riki spoke, his voice carrying a hint of vulnerability.
"You know, the legend of the moon... it's said to reveal the truth about one's emotions," he began, his eyes fixed on the waves. "I've always been afraid to let the moon see mine, not after what happened before."
You looked at him with curiosity. “What happened?”
He sighed softly, looking out at the ocean. “I once let the moonlight reveal my true feelings and it led to heartbreak. It was... painful.. But that’s a story for another day..”
He turned to you, his eyes sincere and vulnerable. “Somehow, being with you, I don’t feel that fear. There’s something about tonight, and about you, that makes me believe in the magic of the moon again.”
You felt a pang of sympathy and reached out, gently placing your hand on his. “Riki, you don’t have to talk about it if you’re not comfortable.”
He looked at you, his eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and vulnerability. “Thank you. It’s just... hard to think about sometimes. The pain was so real, and it made me afraid to show my true emotions again.”
You squeezed his hand gently, offering him a reassuring smile. “It’s okay. Take your time. I’m here. Though we met nights ago, I’m here.”
Riki‘s eyes softened, and he gave you a small, appreciative smile. “You have no idea how much that means to me.”
The moon’s light bathed the beach in a gentle glow, illuminating the quiet understanding between you. Riki’s honesty and openness resonated deeply, and you felt a sense of connection that was both comforting and profound.
He shifted slightly, moving closer to you until your shoulders almost touched. The warmth of his body next to yours was a silent reassurance, a wordless promise of support. “You’re really something, you know that?” he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you turned to look at him, finding his gaze already on you. “I could say the same about you,” you replied, feeling the intimacy of the moment deepen.
Riki’s eyes held a mixture of vulnerability and strength, a silent testament to the pain he carried and the bravery it took to admit it. He took a deep breath, his fingers brushing against yours as he spoke. “It’s just... sometimes the memories are too painful. But being here with you, it makes it a little easier to bare.”
You felt a surge of tenderness for him, your heart aching at the thought of the hurt he’d endured. “I’ll be here, whenever you’re ready.”
He nodded, his eyes glistening with unspoken emotion. “Thank you. It’s... it’s a lot, but knowing I have someone who understands means everything.”
The waves whispered their secrets to the shore, and the moon shone down, wrapping you both in its gentle embrace. The moment was filled with quiet revelations and tender support, a reminder that sometimes, the simple act of being present could be the greatest comfort of all.
As the night continued, you returned to your painting, the brush gliding smoothly across the canvas. Riki watched you with a gentle smile, his eyes filled with admiration and something more—a tenderness that was growing stronger with each passing moment.
Unbeknownst to both of you, the moonlight was beginning to take effect, subtly enhancing the emotions between you. Every glance exchanged, every soft touch, carried a deeper meaning, an unspoken promise of what could be.
You finished your painting, setting the brush down and turning to Riki. He reached out, taking your hand in his. “Come on,” he said softly, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Let’s take a break.”
He led you to the water’s edge, where the waves gently lapped at the shore. The cool water splashed over your feet, sending a delightful shiver up your spine. Riki laughter filled the air, infectious and free, and you couldn’t help but join in.
You ran along the shoreline, the waves chasing after you, and for a moment, all your worries melted away. Riki caught up to you, grabbing your hand and spinning you around, both of you laughing as you stumbled into the shallow waves.
The moonlight danced on the water, casting a magical glow over everything. You splashed each other, the cool water mingling with the warmth of your laughter. Riki’s hand never left yours, his grip firm yet gentle, grounding you in the moment.
At one point, he pulled you close, his arms wrapping around you as the waves rolled in. The world seemed to fall away, leaving just the two of you under the moon’s tender gaze. You looked up at him, your heart swelling with an emotion you couldn’t quite name but felt deeply in your soul.
“Riki,” you whispered, your voice barely audible over the sound of the ocean.
He leaned in, his forehead resting against yours. “I know,” he replied softly, his breath mingling with yours. “I feel it too.”
The moonlight seemed to intensify, casting a silver halo around you both. The moment stretched, filled with unspoken words and shared feelings. Then, with a gentle tug, Riki led you back to the shore, where you sat together, the waves gently lapping at your feet.
You rested your head on his shoulder, feeling his warmth seep into you. The night was filled with love-filled glances and quiet intimacy, a perfect blend of comfort and connection. The magic of the moon had done its work, weaving a spell of closeness that would linger long after the night had ended.
You both sat in comfortable silence for a while, the rhythmic sound of the waves providing a soothing backdrop. Riki’s fingers traced gentle patterns on your hand, his touch sending a pleasant shiver through you. He seemed lost in thought, and you didn’t want to disturb the quiet peace that had settled over you both.
But then, as if needing to break the silence, he spoke again, his voice soft and filled with emotion. “You know, sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever fully heal from what happened. It’s like a part of me is still stuck in that moment.”
You turned to him, your heart aching at the vulnerability in his eyes. “Healing takes time, Riki. And it’s okay to feel that way. Just remember, you don’t have to face it alone.”
He looked at you, his eyes searching yours. “You really mean that, don’t you?”
You nodded, squeezing his hand. “I do. Whenever you’re ready to talk about it, I’ll be here. And if you’re not ready, that’s okay too.”
Riki’s gaze softened, and he leaned in, pressing his forehead against yours.
The intimacy of the moment deepened, the air around you thick with unspoken emotions. Riki’s fingers continued to trace gentle patterns on your hand, each touch sending a warm, tingling sensation through you. You could feel the connection between you growing stronger, the bond solidifying in a way that felt both natural and profound.
As the night wore on, the two of you shared stories, laughter, and moments of comfortable silence. You found yourself opening up to him in ways you hadn’t expected, sharing parts of yourself you usually kept hidden. Riki listened with genuine interest, his responses thoughtful and kind.
Eventually, the lure of the waves became irresistible again, and you found yourselves splashing through the shallows, once again, laughing and playing like children. Riki’s laughter was infectious, his joy a balm to your soul. You chased each other through the surf, the cool water a delightful contrast to the warmth of your growing affection.
At one point, Riki caught you around the waist, lifting you off your feet and spinning you around. You laughed, the sound pure and free, your heart swelling with happiness. He set you down gently, his arms still wrapped around you as the waves hit your ankles.
The moonlight bathed you both in its gentle glow, casting a magical light over the scene. Riki’s eyes met yours, and for a moment, it felt like the world had shrunk to just the two of you. He leaned in, his forehead resting against yours, his breath warm on your skin.
“Thank you for tonight,” he whispered, his voice filled with sincerity. “For everything.”
You smiled, your heart full. “I should be the one thanking you. This has been... amazing.”
Riki’s eyes held a promise, a silent vow of what could be. “Let’s make a pact,” he said softly. “No more hiding. From the moon, from each other, from ourselves.”
You nodded, feeling a surge of hope and determination. “Deal.”
The night continued, filled with love-filled glances, quiet intimacy, and the gentle lapping of the waves. The magic of the moon had woven a spell of connection and understanding, one that would linger long after the festival lights had faded. As the first light of dawn began to creep over the horizon, you knew that this night would be a cherished memory, a moment of pure, unadulterated connection.
And as Riki‘s hand found yours once more, you knew that even if you had met only nights before, for some reason you wanted to spend the rest of your life with him.

Breaking The Silence

Husband!Fukuzawa x Reader
After you married Fukuzawa, nothing really change. You two were still distant and not acting like a married couple. The wedding was never because of love, it was rather an arranged marriage, so it made things more complicated and awkward, but even if you two don't interact that much to each other, you still fulfill the role as a wife.
His house was pretty and large, a traditional japanese home with a large garden, there were times he wouldn't recommend you to go out so you'd have to stay at home, you were glad the house has a garden to admire, a room entirely for books, a huge kitchen and a bathroom with a large tub. Although, these past few weeks after the wedding, it has rather getting lonely.
You tried to keep yourself busy, you have sewn alot, read tons of books, watered the plants in the garden, already took a bath in the large tub, which only made you felt more lonelier. You didn't want to bother Fukuzawa and tell him how it has getting boring at the house, being alone with no one else to talk to, you didn't want to be a burden to him, being a president isn't easy, he already have enough problems to deal with. But maybe, he would at least try to get to know you, or maybe make an effort to get close to you. It's not bad if you two finally act like a married couple and do things like a married couple would do, you long for a husband's affection.
-
"I will go now, Y/n," he said with such sternness in his expression and tone.
You nodded, "then, I shall go fetch your lunch I prepared for you at the kitchen, would you mind waiting?"
He shakes his head slightly and said, "sure, I wouldn't mind."
You quickly made your way to the kitchen and grabbed the bento box with care, you hurriedly rushed to your husband, not wanting to make him wait any longer. You smiled at him and gave him the bento box, he gave a tiny bow and made his way out of the house.
After he left, it was time for you again to find a new hobby to distract yourself, you grabbed yourself a pen and a sketchpad and sat by the engawa, you wanted to draw the beautiful garden, because it was one of the things you love about your new home. But then, you've drew garden most of the time in your life, so you wanted to draw something new. You started to think various of things to draw, but none of it was worthy, then all of the sudden, Fukuzawa appeared to your mind, his long silver locks, his charming metallic blue eyes, the usual green yukata paired with black haori with a golden borders that he usually wears, everything, every single details about your husband, you remember it so well. You started to sketch him to your sketchpad with a blush in your face and a smile that you wear without your knowledge.
After drawing him, you put the sketchpad back to your drawer in your chamber. It took a few hours to make it perfect so after you are done with the drawing, you right away headed to the kitchen to make dinner for the two of you, you sighed and grabbed some few vegetables and other ingredients from the pantry.
The dinner always consists of the two of you asking how's each other's day, as usual, your response is always "It's fine, I guess," although you really want to ask and say more but he's probably too tired to entertain you, he would always tell you he always have a lot of works to deal with and that he's glad he has his subordinates to help him.
-
You patiently wait for his arrival, all of the chores are done, the dinner is already served. As you wait by the entrance, you heard some distant voices, the other one is surely familiar, but the other isn't, it's a female's voice. Your blood ran cold as you raise your eyebrow, who is this woman that your husband brought home?
"I'm home," Fukuzawa said loudly.
You greeted him, but then asks him who's the person with him. She smiled warmly at you and reached out your hand to shake. You gave Fukuzawa a confused look but he just smiled at you, which it's rare because he usually don't smile that much.
"This is Haruno, an office staff in the ADA, she'll stay here for the night, it's too dangerous to let her be on her own tonight.
You nodded, "then, I'll go prepare a dinner for Haruno."
"Oh no! You don't have to, I've already eaten earlier," she gave you an awkward smile.
"Haruno, you could stay at Y/n's room for the time being, she'll sleep with me in my room."
You flinched at what Fukuzawa said, you've never sleep with him in a same bed, not even your first night as a married couple, he slept in the couch that night. You looked at him again but he didn't glanced at you, but then Haruno gave the two of you a confused look.
-
Dinner passed, nothing really changed, the same conversation as always, you headed to your room where Haruno is, you wanted to make sure she is comfortable and alright.
"May I come in?" You asked at the other side of the shoji door.
"Uhm... Sure!"
You slide the door open gently, you see Haruno sitting at the futon, smiling at you warmly, she patted the space beside her, gesturing you to sit beside her.
As you sat, she leaned closer to you, giving you a little space, you raise your eyebrow, "Ha-Haruno?"
"Tell me, Y/n-san, do you and Fukuzawa-sama sleep separately?"
"Haruno... Why did you ask?"
"It's just weird, the two of you are married and all, but still not sleep in the same bed."
"You know how it's an arranged marriage, right?"
"Well, yes, but... I just thought that... Well..."
"What? What is it?"
"Fukuzawa-sama constantly ask me why you never talk that much to him or why he felt so distant to you, I told him maybe you're just feeling a little bit awkward around him, but then, who wouldn't? Fukuzawa-sama is a serious, stern man, maybe it made difficult for you to be open to him."
"Well some part of it is true, but, I just felt like he don't want to interact with me—I mean if he wanted to, he would've make an effort..."
"To be honest, Y/n-san, he actually wanna have a deep connection with you! He just don't know how, he's never been with a woman before, romantically, and he's afraid that if he messed up, it might make things more complicated."
Suddenly, a heat rushed to your cheeks, your words stuck in your throat. Gosh, you've never thought it was like this, you never knew that he actually wants to know you more, to have a deeper connection.
"You probably don't know this, Y/n-san, but I think Fukuzawa-sama has feelings for you, he wouldn't ask me that much things about you if he doesn't care about you."
"Maybe I was clueless about my partner just like him, I wanted a company, I wanted his... I wanted his affection, I felt so lonely and him not talking to me that much isn't helping."
"Then, you should tell him that. He would never know unless you say it, he doesn't have some kind of mind-reading ability to know what's going on your mind."
"Alright... Thanks, Haruno," you smiled at her, "I will go now, have a good night."
"You too Y/n-san! Good night!"
-
You walked quietly through the empty halls, thinking about the conversation you recently had with Haruno, you never knew Fukuzawa would think about you even at work. You just realize how both of you are in the same shoes, the two of you don't know the well-being of one another because you two never open up to each other! Now that's stupid, how come you both never communicate properly about yours and his feelings when you both are married to each other... well maybe that it is because both of you have never met before the marriage...?
Maybe tonight is a good time to confront him, since the two of you will be sleeping in the same bed.
You slide the door open and close it as you enter the room, you joined Fukuzawa in the bed as he read a book with the blanket resting on his lap. You were hesitating to speak first, it took a whole ass 10 minutes to someone finally break the silence. Fukuzawa close his book with a loud noise that caught your attention, he cleared his voice and look at you.
"Y/n, you can tell me if you're uncomfortable sleeping with me here tonight, I'll find somewhere else to sleep."
"It—It's alright, Fukuzawa... I don't mind," you said as you avoided his gaze and look at the floor beside you.
"Then say it, say that you want me to stay here, tell me that you want me to sleep beside you," his hand landed to yours that was gripping on the blanket.
"Fukuzawa..."
"I want you to call me by my first name, Y/n."
"..."
"Y/n, I want to be honest with you. Everyday is a torture to me, knowing that I always have the chance to get closer to you yet I always ignore that opportunity, because of my foolishness, it had made things difficult for the two of us. I know I'm the man that was arranged to marry you, and not the man that you marry because of love, but I want to treat you and give you the affection you deserve, I hope we can have a new beginning to this relationship we have," he took your hand and raise it to his lip and gave your knuckles a kiss, "when you took care of me, sick or not, when you prepare me food always, when you would ask how was my day and would always give me a warm smile, I knew you're someone worth to love and protect."
"Yukichi..."
"Yes, say my name, hearing you say my name sounded so good to my ear," his other hand left your hand, he use the free hand to cup your cheek, "I think... this unexplainable feeling I've always had when you're around or when I think of you, is love..."
You couldn't hold it in anymore, you suddenly lean closer and press your lips against his, kissing him like a starve person. Fukuzawa got surprise but that wasn't for too long as he slowly wraps his arms around your waist and deepens the kiss.
You pulled out from the kiss, with a flushed face as you pant, "Yukichi... I love you."
"I love you too, Y/n," he smiled as he touch your lower lip with his fingertip, "from now on, we shall always sleep together."
You nodded and continue the kiss that was paused earlier.
—Bonus.
"Fukuzawa-sama! I have something to show you," Haruno exclaimed.
Fukuzawa place the documents down to his desk and looks at Haruno, "what is it?"
Haruno gave him a paper that wad folded with a grin on her face. Fukuzawa unfolded the paper and saw a drawing of his self, he gave Haruno a confuse look.
"I was looking around Y/n-san's room when I noticed that one of her shelf isn't closed properly, when I came closer to see why, I saw a sketchpad, I got curious and saw this! Isn't she so good?"
"Yeah... she's great," a blush appear in Fukuzawa's cheeks as a smile crept into his face.

Art evolution !!!!!!
Thank you for the tag @syaolaurant
I tag @stein0806 @accio-bagel @ccelicaa @xmdart and of course anyone and everyone who would like to share their art journey!!
I've been a doodler my whole life. Gained sentience and the first thing I did was draw LOL
Unfortunately I was raised in a typical Strict(Asian) household and mom wasn't very supportive of my silly hobby... so I don't have any childhood art documented 😭
I do remember filling up all my notebooks and textbooks with sketches though!! My family probably thought I ate all the paper as a kid with how much they had to restock my supplies hahaha
Anyways.
Middleschool (2015 - 2016)
My dad bought me an Ipad Mini 2. Life changing. I never looked back.
I still have it with me, though it's probably super dead at this point, but I remember him saying I could try out digital art with it and I almost burst into tears LMAO Soo it's a sentimental item to me. I'll never get rid of it.
I tried all art programs possible back then, Medibang, Procreate, IbisPaint, Autodesk, etc you name it 😼😼
I was also a finger artist for the longest time, that's why I have endless respect for those who still draw with their fingers digitally. You guys have the patience of a god.

Highschool (2016 - 2018)
Still an Ipad artist, and I was confident enough to post my art on social media. Guess which platform it was ...
It was Wattpad 💀💀💀 i nuked the account because of cringe but I remember getting 100K+ reads on 2 of my books and wow did it do wonders to my ego 😭👍

A little bit of traditional art here and there too!!!

College (2019)
A life-altering event happened around this time. I was so depressed and stressed out and busy I had no motivation to draw. I bought my first pen tablet but I didn't touch it for months, my Ipad was also left to gather dust.
I did do a little bit of traditional art however!! Was super into inking around this time 😌

COVID (2020 - 2021)
Finally picked up my tablet and purchased Clip Studio Paint!! I'd draw everyday!!! That was because... I joined a fandom that was so cursed it revived my passion for art but also made me never want to have an online presence ever again 💀 (mcyttwt)

I also tried out gouache for the first time!! It was so fun xD

Employed (2021 - now)
Inspiration comes and goes. I only really see drawing as a hobby now, sorta like an escape after spending all my time at work.

HL definitely keeps me inspired though!!! I've been having so much fun experimenting with all the comics and paintings! I love that there's a story to tell behind every artwork I made xD

And that's it!!! I wish I had more to share!! I guess that just means I need to work harder and draw more LOLOL
Thank you for reading and supporting my silly hobby, by the way!!! It means so much to me 🫶💜💜💜💜💜💜

metal from heaven fans i have character design sketches for most of the cast I would love if anyone has Thoughts Ideas or Suggestions (gay sketches as a reward if you read to the bottom)
i did..... not quite every on page character, but pretty much everyone who's there more than once and at least vaguely described (or like. I'd do gwyar if it wouldn't be a spoiler)
all the character descriptions I have recorded are here by the way !!
some of the characters are described a lot but most are like.....their face/hair but nothing about their clothes, or the other way around, so for a lot of them I just winged it - part of the reason I wanted to do so many characters roughly was so get a sense of the overall styles and vibes? august said they were thinking about john galliano for fashion so I took a lot of inspo from that and also a heavy dose of western vibes.....fashion is not my strong point though. truly just stuck it all in a blender and slapped it on.
and also for most of these it's sort of first-or-second-pass designs - basically just getting an initial feel rather than really solidly Designed. so likely to change. I could definitely push a lot of them further!!!
fingerbluffs/choir etc!
sisphe is described with having sunlight trapped in her hair and then also a dark curtain of hair and it's PROBABLY dark but I did imagine her blonde initially because of that. going with blonde hair as a kid that got darker to compromise...
her disguise outfit isn't really described other than gloves but I kinda matched it to marney disguise (below)
harlow took me so long to figure out getting her face like I imagined and also like how I described....I'm not sure still. i love her sm
amon is accidentally giving victor arcane. the character archetype + colour palette I guess. I specifically made it blue/black with pink highlights because of the tullian gender colours though..
tbh I still haven't figured out how their bandit hoods work. I think they pull over from the back of the head but I can't figure out how to draw that in a way that works so they're bandanas for now
not pictured but what are we imagining the lurchers like. just fun punky sff motorbikes?
aristrocrats !!
i am pretty happy with my marney and goss (though goss could be shorter...)
wanna do more vikare outfits
yann i. chauncey supposed to be quite boring and nondescript but also. sure does like Like A Random Dude in this lineup huh
basically all of the bottom row are only lightly described so I just went with the initial vague mental image I had tbh!
could I put more effort into giving them more cultural distinctions / make the areas they're from more visually distinct? yes probably. it's hard to get a sense of some of that when some of the places are within ignavia and some are like.. separate continents - and there's no map to sort it out in my head. (you may notice i wrote where they're from in blue by the names though)
description: 'detailed traditional tullian/drustish/etc embroidery' me: here's some vague scribbles
could deffo get some more body diversity in here
anyway genuinely very interested if anyone is like 'I imagined x to be completely different in y way' or fancasts or anything else! i am so open to and interested in making changes if other people have thoughts (and like if you're not an artist so can't draw it yourself) (or even if you are an artist but don't have the time and want to make me draw it instead. i know the feeling)
----
thanks for reading here's sketches:

I promise I will post these properly on my art blog sometime. also if anyone has ideas for little sketches like these, of any particular interactions or whatever....
#metal from heaven#art inside! but rough and i want peoples thoughts if you have thoughts!#my art#august clarke

Learn French with Doey, I guess?
Look at that, now you’ve got some bread (dough) offered by the big dough baby!

That will have been one Doey themed weekend for sure! ÔO
I made this one, because... I've actually talked with at least three people whose birthday was this month, and who loved this character!
(Well, as for me, my birthday was in March anyway, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Also drawn as a little banter, as we mentioned "French Doey" at some point in the official Discord server, aaaaand you know...
Pumpkie: Ahh yeah... How many fanarts have you made of this character, already?
Sam: Uhmmm... one, two, three... four? If we count the traditional sketch I made before the digital artwork... 🤔
Pumpkie: That's a lot, for this time interval, Sammy!
Sam: Well, no worries. I think that will be the last one for some time now. But that was definitely fun to experiment!
*PS: Note that “Doughman” can be translated in two ways: ✔️ “Bonhomme de pâte”: the word “bonhomme” being less formal, more generic… also applies to humanoid characters (for example: “bonhomme de neige” means “snowman” in French). ✔️ “Homme (de) pâte”: the word “homme” being more formal to say “man”. Also usually refers to an adult. Anyway, I guess it depends on how you consider this character!

the upper hand.
*or some things just never change. bruce's yaoi hand of justice will reach you anywhere, jonathan *
(i’m as energy drained as a squeezed lemon, but here it is. my latest art baby. i’m actually kinda surprised with how much i end up loving this set, considering that while the second art was barely changed from the sketches phase, the first one went through a lot of rearranging. it kinda looked like a butt for a bit there, but somehow [makes a vague gesture] it turned into smth that i actually like. it’s prob my best art of aa!scarecrow so far. it’s hard for me to tell, but i really love how he came out kinda cute vs scary ass bitch, he was in the beginning. it’s the power of bruce’s hand entering the picture, i guess. it domesticates the wild scarecrow.
but ah anyways, as it can be gathered from the 'title', the main idea is that certain things can change, when it comes to bruce an’ jon, but some will always remain the same. like, bruce always being there to catch jonathan in the end of the day. even if i wanted to play with emphasis on it being more playful an’ less violent in arkham asylum set up vs arkham knight. in the first art, bruce pretty much reaching out toward jon, while hallucinating an’ trippin balls, so that’s why jon is kinda in a ‘window’. somehow, the bat sense his presence, even if he sees dozens of other things too. him lightly tugging on scarecrow’s noose is a foreplay, before he will rougly yank on it, bringing jon closer to an’ make him ‘regret’ playin’ his games again. you are free to imagine what exactly this means for yourself. i personally seeing some touchy-feely times.
now, with slightly opposite mood, the second art takes place after the events of arkham knight. or well, toward the end of it, where the victory is almost bitter in a sense. for quite a few reasons. but even with this lingering wrongness, jonathan is defeated an’ scared, an’ then fall down all spread an' ‘sexy’. for no reason. in a way, he continues the tradition of aa!scarecrow an’ being a indecent without really knowing it. i mean, he doesn’t ran around half-naked, but he's exposes his ankles an' fingers. if they lived in medieval time, that’s basically be vulgare of him [shakes head] honestly, what a tramp you are, jon. also bruce's gloved hand around naked ankle ... goddamn. we really can’t keep it pg level, can we? but if seriously, i like to think about difference in both bruces an' how it translates into the way he gripes / grabs crane. more careful the first time an' literal manhandling the second. slightly upgraded mentality. or well, mental instability, more so.
you can say that this whole perspective bit was inspired by arkham shadows *even if i’m yet to watch it, i’m saving it for my holidays*, but i thought that it’ll be fun to imagine how bruce sees jonathan. bc he kinda would see him from some awkward angles at times. 'i'm the night. i'm justice. i'm batman' all while jonathan does his erogenous goblin fall lol.)

Treehouse Confession
Larry Johnson x fem!Reader

The sky above was a soft gradient of purples and pinks, the last traces of daylight fading into the horizon. You and Larry sat side by side on the roof of his treehouse, legs dangling over the edge. It had become a tradition of sorts, the two of you sneaking up here when the world felt too heavy. Tonight, though, something was different. The air between you buzzed with a quiet, unspoken tension—one you’d both been avoiding for longer than either of you cared to admit.
You stole a glance at Larry, his face half-hidden in the dim light, the soft breeze tousling his long hair. He was sketching absentmindedly in a battered notebook, his fingers smudged with charcoal. But he wasn’t really focused on the drawing—you could tell by the way his leg bounced nervously and how his eyes kept flicking in your direction.
“Hey, you okay?” you asked, breaking the silence.
Larry looked up at you, his hazel eyes catching the fading light. He hesitated for a moment, then closed his notebook, setting it aside with a sigh. “Yeah, I’m fine… just got a lot on my mind.”
You nodded, knowing that “a lot” was an understatement when it came to Larry. But tonight, you felt there was something more, something he wasn’t saying. You wanted to ask, to push him to open up, but at the same time, you were nervous too—nervous about what might happen if the words you were both too scared to say finally came out.
“I’ve been thinking about us,” Larry said suddenly, his voice quieter, more vulnerable than usual.
Your heart skipped a beat. “Us?”
“Yeah.” He rubbed the back of his neck, clearly struggling to find the right words. “I mean… we’ve been friends for a while now, and I—" He paused, his brow furrowing as if he was mentally kicking himself. “Look, I suck at this kind of stuff, but… you mean a lot to me. More than I think I ever let myself admit.”
You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, a warmth spreading through you at his words. The confession was so unlike Larry, who usually hid behind sarcasm and jokes, that it caught you off guard. But now, looking at himhis nervousness, the way his hands fidgeted—you knew he was being completely real with you.
“I guess what I’m trying to say is…” Larry trailed off, his gaze dropping to his lap. “I’m in love with you. I have been for a while.”
For a second, everything seemed to stop. The weight of his words hung in the air between you, and your breath caught in your throat. Larry loved you. You’d dreamed of hearing those words, but now that they were out there, you weren’t sure what to do. So you did the only thing that felt right.
You reached over, gently taking Larry’s hand in yours. His eyes shot up to meet yours, wide and uncertain, as if he was bracing himself for rejection. But when he saw the soft smile on your face, the tension in his shoulders eased just a little.
“I love you too, Larry,” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “I’ve been waiting for you to say something.”
The relief that washed over his face was immediate. His hand tightened around yours, and for a moment, neither of you said anything. You just sat there, letting the reality of it sink in. The night felt lighter, the world quieter, as if it was just the two of you under the endless expanse of stars.
Larry shifted closer, his free hand coming up to brush a strand of hair away from your face. The touch was so gentle, so full of affection, that your heart melted on the spot. “I can’t believe I waited this long to tell you,” he murmured, his voice soft, almost tender. “I was scared of messing up what we have.”
“You’re not messing anything up,” you replied, your voice steady despite the butterflies in your stomach. “This feels right.”
He smiled, that crooked, boyish smile you’d always loved, and leaned in just a little, as if testing the waters. Your heart raced as his face inched closer, his breath warm against your skin. And then, before you knew it, his lips were on yours.
The kiss was soft, slow, as if neither of you wanted to rush the moment. Larry’s hand cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing lightly against your skin, sending shivers down your spine. His lips were warm, a little unsure at first, but as you leaned into him, you felt him relax, his arm sliding around your waist to pull you closer.
It was the kind of kiss that made the rest of the world disappear—the kind that felt like everything you’d ever wanted and more. The stars above seemed to blur, the night air cool against your skin, but all you could focus on was Larry—his touch, his warmth, the way he made you feel like you were exactly where you were supposed to be.
When you finally pulled away, both of you were breathless, your foreheads resting together as you smiled at each other. Larry let out a soft laugh, the sound full of relief and joy. “So, I guess this means we’re official now?”
You chuckled, your heart still racing. “Yeah, I guess it does.”
Larry kissed you again, this time with more confidence, as if he’d been waiting for this moment his whole life. And in that moment, under the stars, you realized that this was it—the beginning of something beautiful, something real. And with Larry by your side, it felt like everything was finally falling into place.

Your comic series is the first Rottmnt comic Iv ever read! It was an amazing first impression to the Rottmnt fandom! Could you teach me how to draw the turtle boys ( rise turtles)?
Also love the new update!

Aw! I’m so glad my comic made on good impression on you! ^v^
Of course! I’d love to help you!

So first thing’s first, here’s the boys the best I can draw them. The most important thing when learning to draw new characters is identifying what makes them look like them. We’ll start with the faces since that’s, in most cases, the point of focus.

Leo’s face is a pretty tall and vaguely pentagonal. His face is also very angular, the corners of his cheeks and top of his head are very sharp. Leo has the traditional style mask with tails that drop down to about his waist.

Donnie has that smart boi forehead and majestic eyebrows. His forehead often has a soft curve to it while, similarly to Leo, his cheeks and jaw use sharp angles. Remember too that the top of his head is flat, there’s no curve. His mask is that newer pirate style that wraps over the top of his head, with the tails looking like curvy squares.

Mikey’s face is a combination of a rounded square and a circle. The top of his head, while much rounder than Donnie’s, is somewhat square. The bottom of his face is a curve. Sometimes I draw the curve in line segments, but it’s not a requirement and won’t impact the way he looks. In general though, Mikey has a very circular face. His mask is the traditional TMNT style with the rounded bouncing tails on the back.

Raph is arguably the hardest to get right for some odd reason. Really though Raph’s face is just a shorter version of Leo’s face with slightly more exaggerated angles. His face is like a fat pentagon. Also tip: Raph’s eyes are always just a little smaller then you think they’re going to be. Trace some scenes from the ROTTMNT movie, you’ll see what I mean. Raph’s mask is the same style as Donnie’s where it covers the whole top of his head. There’s a small nick on the edge above his right cheek and the tails are tattered.
Okay, next are their markings! They play a lot in how easily identifiable they are.

I figured these diagrams should help as a little map as to what spots go where.
Alright, now we’ll look at their shells. There are many amazing diagrams and explanations for drawing their shells on Pinterest I’ve found, but I’ll sum it up here as best I can.

Leo’s shell is very sleek in design making his is profile look the thinnest of his brothers. Many people describe his general body shape as being an inverted triangle.

Donnie’s shell is very straight with hardly any curves. I didn’t include his battle shell in this since that qualifies as “gear” in my opinion, so you get to see what Donnie’s shell looks like! You’ll notice that the sides of his shell are very wide, which I’m guessing is because the curve of his carapace is so shallow.

Mikey’s shell is very similar to Leo’s but is a lot thicker and boxier(haha get it? Cause he’s like, a Box Turtle? :D I’m so lame…). He’s also much rounder and the distance between his plastron and carapace is pretty big.

Raph’s shell is probably the most complex of the boys because of all the spikes. Good things to keep in mind are that the spikes on the top of his plastron angle out, and spikes on his carapace flow up. In general think of Raph as a pentagon, he’s got big broad shoulders and arms and almost comically short legs. (And yes, I’m aware that I didn’t include the side of his shell here, it was too big to fit on the diagram. But just to give you an idea of where it should be, around the “w” in “flow” is where it should connect to his carapace.
Okay! So now that we’ve covered what the boys look like, let’s apply it to their bodies!

Here’s a quick sketch of Leo. “Oh, but Indie” I hear people say, “I can only draw basic shapes and stick figures!” Well to that I say good because that’s what I’m doing too!

For drawing action, it’s crucial to capture the energy of the character. And in a style like Rise’s energy is an iconic trait. So I’ve re-invented this “shape method” to actually be useful. The number one thing is that these shapes are loose guides as to the positioning of the body. Don’t think of these shapes as “well chests are like cubes and arms are like rectangles.” These shapes are place holders. I could replace those circles with stars and it wouldn’t change anything. I just use circles because they’re faster to scribble and stand out against the hard angles of everything else.

Here’s a picture of the shapes overlayed on the image, as you see, these shapes are guides to help comprehend a complex angle in 3D space. Sadly I don’t have much I can assist with on proportions, since I learned purely by studying total uncreepily real life people and myself (I swear I’m posing in the mirror for purely educational reasons! Okay!?).
But anyway, for this kind of thing, practice is the only remedy. Just draw action pose after action pose. Trace scenes from ROTTMNT and the movie to teach your eye to see what things should look like and to train your brain to recognize patterns of shapes and angles.
I hope you found this at all helpful. I’m not really sure how great of a teacher I am but people keep asking questions like these so I guess I’m okay. Glad you liked ROTP so much and I’m glad it made such a good impression on you! ^v^
Good question! :]

Your art so surreal, did you take inspiration from African masks it’s amazing. You have probably gotten this question before but what’s your process and how do plan these beautiful pieces out. I am a beginner artist and would like some advice on how start doing digital painting.
thank you for bringing me back from the dead with your kindness, (i was so sad today ughhhh i think watching vampire diaries starting to affect me hjkhjk), i really, really deeply thankful that you spend your time to write something so sweet (also sorry it took me literally ages to reply phphp THE USUAL)
yeah, in buryatia shamanism like the big thing, so when i went to search what's out there in the masks department - google's mess of the results for once was helpful and showed this massive collection of beautiful african masks. the one that was inspo for tiisha lived in my head rent free for weeks before the character was even born phphph now i cant even imagine her without it
(here is little tiisha for you before i'll proceed to be not helpfull phphphph)
oof advices are not my strong side , like..........my process mostly is just sleep through the whole thing i guess..........................i very rarely do sketches, i hate study anatomy and perspective, drawing cubes makes me physically sick etc etc my approach to drawing were "fuck around and find out", always about chill and fun and barely ever about learning. imho thats why im so shitty at drawing simple things but not bad at coloring. so yeah, my biggest advice always and forever will be - be gentle to yourself, please
digital or traditional or whatever else is out there, dont forget you make it for yourself and for yourself only okay? it supposed to be fun, not sad tiring and competitive
advices for digital specifically tho - very objective, apply with caution
learn all the keyboard shortcuts, ideally to press them without thinking
explore more instruments than just brush. it will be tedious and sometimes feel like a chore so mb pick one victim once a month and browse youtube for a stuff like SECRET ULTIMATE TIPS ABOUT MAGIC WAND TOOL THAT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE (they indeed will save your life)
check if your drawing program has artboards - turning it on will give you more freedom over canvas positioning and your refs will always be there and not in the separate window
idk about others but using auto tone, auto contrast and auto color often gives me well needed perspective on what im doing
in 99% cases be sure that you can reanimate even the most messiest artpiece you ever did. working in digital gives you the chance to mess with shapes, colors and perspective at any time so if you dont want to gave up on something - you absolutely didnt have to
from time to time while you are still learning - go out there in the wilds and search for the new brushes. tweak with them if you want. i have like ~500 and i use 6 max, but those 6 i found by at some point trying to draw with all of the 500

Hey guys! :) Just drawing more silly stuff (fan art/doodles or sketches)
*drags myself from out of my grave of schoolwork*
Operation Ichor AU! By @slumbrr-r (GO CHECK THEM OUT!! Make sure to take breaks too, Slumbrr :D )
CHARACTERS INCLUDED:
Lumine by @gyan81 (sorry lol, I’ve never drawn characters holding any guns or weapons similar to such)
Wafi and Lina by @segagrimreaper (digital and traditional versions bc I personally think the traditional one is better but I really wanted to color it digitally)
Atri and Achelois by @theinfamousmaybelle (SEND MORE OF THE CUTIES PLS)
Carne by @youlookveryinterested (I kept frustrating myself with how the butcher knife would be held and which way, so I gave up sorry if it looks a little funny😭)
Cherri by @lilatheglitchybunny (every time I try to draw her smile, I start getting Sans AU/Undertale war flashbacks. 😭)
Holmes, Toots, and Shrimpo by @genderlessjacky (I owe you a real piece of art for them, just not this one)t
Teensy by @a-peanut11 (SHES SO CUTE OMG??)
Periot by @frenchcowws (my gf :D she finally has a blog now :> encouraging her to post/do art! She’s a very good artist :D )
POV: When your traditional art is better than your digital art 😔 (or the other way around)

One of my favorite girlbosses

Yeah so, basically another summary of the two I guess? (I bet there at least a bit of mutual understanding for each other. I promise real art will be made of Holmes’s family soon.)
Kiran thinks very highly of others around her.

CAPTIONS + ADDED COMMENTARY: a fucking termite bomb (or hornets) || *a dick move and she knows it! However, she does have a pest problem. Besides, if you (usually being a customer) don’t like bugs, she’ll try to keep them out of sight.*
(Idk, don’t ask me. She said she wanted to have a bomb and came up to have termites in them?? We both thought it would be funny and fit Periot’s character well. RIP if you don’t like bugs)
Canonically, she’s supposed to have a bounty or target on her head :)
“Mama, I’m in love with a criminal—“
My stummy been hurting a bit this week so :( But I promise you I have been drawing concepts and will add more lore for both Kirans (OG and Operation Ichor!version) soon! :)

(literally keep getting sick everytime I start to get better.. JUMPING)

How did/do you practice to get to this point in drawing skills? With details, please. I love the texture and lighting in your drawings and how you draw people in your own style while they still look similar ❤️❤️
one thing about me is that i’m stubborn as a mule and if it is humanly possible to do something then i will, in fact, attempt it with a firm belief that I am capable of success no matter my skill level lol
warning: this is going to be a long post ;___;
a little about my background: I’m a 22yo self-taught hobbyist. I didn’t go to art school, I never took any proper drawing classes. All I had since I was like a toddler barely holding a pencil was my drive to always be Better, shitty school art clubs and probably something undiagnosed too
I started digital art when I was around 13-14. My traditional skills were pretty solid (for a kid) at the time but stepping into digital really did feel like learning how to draw from scratch again. This is what some of my earliest work looked like, around one month after I had started… oh god
just a few months after that I switched to semi-realism stylistically as it was pretty close to what I was used to with traditional art. This is what we were dealing with around 1-2 years after those first pieces

I hate to say this because it’s such a useless piece of advice but most of my learning process was just me throwing random shit at the wall and seeing what sticks. Most of the time I was just picking up things from my favorite artists or experimenting. I just barely scratched the surface of fundamentals, only enough to grasp the super basic proportions for everything, some color theory and I would pretty much wing the rest (don’t do that, put in some actual effort, these things are important). I am lucky in the sense that a lot of those things do come to me intuitively, like I don’t know, color theory is very logical to me so I never felt the need to study it properly??
A lot of people mention my use of color and texture and I am going to be 100% real with you, that was born purely out of my laziness, I just sat down one evening, discovered what layer modes and curves do and how with some tweaks they make my art look like I put 12 hours more into it and my heart sang. And as for my bold strokes idk where that came from honestly. My primary school art teacher once told me I have a ‘confident hand’ and my confused 11yo ass sat there with my frozen elsa fanart like thanks??
However this approach only got me so far as I did hit a wall around 2023-2024 which is when I decided to you know… start doing actual Studies™ and learn the fundamentals properly (at least try to). Since Cillian Murphy was my main muse at the time, I sort of used him as a training ground for all kinds of techniques and stylistic choices, I even sat down one day to properly study his face in detail (for science obviously). I went to museums, I stared at actual paintings (AND sculptures!!!), picking them apart and deconstructing them in my head, noticing each brush stroke, really trying to find what makes the whole piece click. I tried master studies for the first time in my life which was mind-blowing, would 100% recommend it. The time I read about Leyendecker’s technique genuinely changed my life and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days omg. And don’t get me wrong, I’m still winging the shit out of everything but I guess I’m doing it more mindfully now??

I can’t stress enough how much art is about not just seeing but OBSERVING and NOTICING reality, not just copying but interpreting it, capturing the essence, feeeeeeeling it. Who cares if you fucked up a single stroke 500 times, who cares if your base sketch looks disgusting? It really is about trusting the flow, trusting the process and focusing on the bigger picture. And if you flop you dust yourself off and try again, all there is to it. Practiceeeee practice practice and have fun, it’s never that deep
