Now, you see, JK used to have to do these in the early years. Have to because he was asked to in interviews and shows. And in the early years he was a little/big shit, and used to rank JM last. I do think he had his reasons for it (didn't want to show his crush, didn't want to rank the older hyungs last, JM was the one he was closest with and it was easier for him to maybe apologize later on or maybe he thought he could make it up to him later), but whatever they were, what he did was inexcusable, because he really hurt JM by doing this (you clearly see it in the last ranking he was asked to do in 2014). Sadly, I'm not sure he was mature enough to understand it yet. In early 2015 he was asked about it, why he ranks JM last? Is JM really unattractive in his opinion? And his immediate answer was no. That he did it for laughs. Again, not understanding how hurtful it was.

But you see, JK didn't think JM wasn't good looking. Quite the opposite. He even said it, just not loud enough, not where it had more of an impact (I mean, look at how those clips circulate and fans really do believe this is what JK thought back in the day while he obviously did not).

Before I move on to JK's final ranking in 2019, his "making things right for all to see and hear", I want to us to look a little more at that description JK wrote way back in 2015. You still see the hesitation not to give him a too outstanding mark in looks (he ranks him #1 in BTS but only gives him a 50 out of 100 mark). This could be him not wanting to show his crush or not wanting it to go to JM's head, lol. With the way JK was behaving, at times having to scrape his tongue off the floor and others having to adjust the jewels, I would say that in his head that mark was way higher than a 50, lol.

sampo very much thinks that. gepard is the captain of the silvermanes, a wellknown and noble person in belobog, and sampo's a slimy secretive conman that just enjoys pushing the captains buttons. theres no hope for anything more so he might as well enjoy flustering the captain right?

gepard on the other hand. doesnt allow himself to really think of sampo as anything else but a criminal. it takes a long Long time for him to realize he even feels anythin for him

gepard does look forward to trying to bust sampo, though, in a sort of frustrated way. sometimes the front lines or patrols are so monotonous and sampo's tendency to appear whenever gep's bored out of his mind is impressive

he is insistant on arresting sampo and 'bringing him to justice' to an obsessive degree, though. he's not even typically assigned to investigating criminal cases but he has basically inserted himself into bein the lead investigator of any sampo related case now

(intelligence officers and detectives and other silvermane's are so used to it now. they could be investigating a house fire or a break in, find a note with lipstick marks on it and curly writing, and they all just sigh and call gepard.)

sometimes other worry that his insistence on arresting sampo and how dedicated to it is concerning. they ask why he hates sampo so much n he just says 'hes the most prolific criminal in belobog and needs to be apprehended'

gep finds himself starting to relax when sampo sends him on wild goose chases n they both leave other guards in the dust. its probably not intentional, how sampo always seems to draw him away to somewhere quiet and secluded when his head is killing him or he's stressed or exhausted.

sampo falls first, but gepard is absolutely the one who initiates.

i imagine it'd take... something for gepard to reconsider sampo and let himself think about sampo outside of his criminal record

during a chase out in the snow plains, just sampo laughing and taunting him as gep tries to hunt him down, they get bombarded by fragmentum monsters

sampo holds his own; he fights with a sort of viciousness gep has never seen from him. his bombs arent just smoke, but powerful explosives that shatter fragmentum. he's insanely fast and doesnt even break a sweat. but as soon as theyre all dead he pretends he's exhausted and that gep needs to carry him back to the city before giggling and vanishing.

gepard realizes that this whole time sampo has been holding back. he realizes that sampo could easily cut through the silvermanes, use his lethal bombs or easily outpace gepard and outrun him.

he starts thinking about other things sampo does; how natasha mentions he delivers medicine to him, how lynx sometimes talks about finding supplies and food in hidden ruins and obvious places around her camp, or the notes sampo leaves and how they sometimes give hidden hints about other criminal operations the silvermanes have been tryin to investigate.

he doesnt know what to make of it, what sampo wants or why he's doing this. the next time sampo sends him running through abandoned streets in belobog he slows down, realizes that sampo also slows to his pace so gepard keeps chasing him.

gepard asks point blank at some point, what in the hell sampo wants from him, why he's doing this. sampo doesnt know how to answer. just shrugs and says hes just trying to have some fun.

from then on gepard and sampo's 'chases' tend to... dissolve. sometimes gepard just sits down and takes a moment to forget about being the captain, to relax. Sampo acts like a skittish, stray cat who's ready to bolt until he eventually relaxes as sits by gepard too.

gepard collects all sampo's notes, all the fragments of his bombs with the hearts painted on metal shells, and keeps them as 'evidence' in his desk.

sampo pushes his luck constantly; as soon as gepard relaxes or gives him any room to get closer, he takes and takes as much as he can get.

gepard catches sampo, entirely on accident, when he's off duty. climbing out of a window or something. and sampo freezes but gepard just says 'hey i'm not working now, i can't arrest you.'

(they both know it's a lie. being out of uniform never stopped gepard before.)

sampo starts just appearing more and more around gepard when he's off duty, showing up walking alongside him like he's been there the whole time, or just 'passing by' when gep is in the florist's shop.

gepard leaves his window open. sampo takes the invitation and crawls in and strange hours when gepard cant sleep. he just sits on the couch or a chair or stands there like he is a foreign intruder. gepard just nods and makes him some tea.

when it would hit gepard, that he's in love with sampo and has been for a while, he'd just blurt it out. 'huh. i think ive fallen in love with you'. and sampo would erupt into flames and kiss him so hard his lips bruise

they all converged to make one giant road trip playlist so you've got the weirdest mix of pop rock/bubblegum/k-pop/city pop, lofi, indie soft rock, show tunes and soundtracks, and more

Imagine coming back to life to find out the boy you saved turned out to be a pirate and a(n) (ex)warlord but also a doctor slash (advanced, bc of his devil-fruit lmao) surgeon. It was probably what most would expect what Law would occupy when he was given the devil-fruit (minus the whole pirate and warlord thing I guess) but at that time all Cora expected and hoped what law would be was free. And thinking of that, Cora would realise just how much Law had grown and how he's far from the kid he was then and how little he knows about the man (not that he knew much about Law even when he was a kid anyway, both their pasts were a touchy subject for them but they did get to know each other a little bit and got close, and at that time that was enough for both of them. They didn't need to know about each other's past or something to love and care for each other. I'm not saying your past defines you but sometimes it kinda does. Not fully, no, but it does help shape you into what you are now). And Cora realises that he missed out on so many things. They both wanted to live together, fully and freely. But Law spent 13(?? Or so) years without him but also, Law hadn't been exactly free, not when Doflamingo was alive and Cora-san's death was a wound that will never be healed. Yk what I'm spitting nonsense at this point and I'm probably projecting but yuh... I just badly wanna know how adult Law and Cora would interact when Cora steps into the light again (AKA brought back to life lmao).

My brain caught on one of the points you made about adult Law and Cora—like, how surprised Cora would be at Law being a pirate. Maybe, after only really having Doflamingo as an idea of what pirates are like, Cora is a little... not disappointed, but like, worried when he finds out. Part of that worry goes away when he sees that Law isn't cruel. But he does slowly understand that, like you said, Law wasn't totally free after living with all that anger and guilt. I think I saw a post a while ago that talked about how Law never claims that he wants to be the King of the Pirates or anything—his "dream" was really just to avenge Cora, and might not have expected he'd survive after that. SOOOOOOO. I think once Cora totally catches up on who Law is as an adult (and realizes he still loves him :3c), he forces Law to sit down and have a conversation about what his new dream should be—it isn't about what he'd die for anymore, but what does he want to live for? Then, I guess the headcanons could be anything... maybe they decide they want to focus on bringing medical help to people who need it, and Law becomes some kind of renegade pirate doctor who goes into places the world government has quarantined... i don't know!! the world is their oyster!!

Ah... the two of them being lovey-dovey around the Heart Pirates........;w; I do also like the idea of them being a little secretive about it, at least maybe at first—like, Law is such a private person, and he doesn't want to "share" Cora after just getting him back... even if it's his own crew just seeing Cora blush or something, haha. And I love cute, open-with-his-feelings Cora, but also liked that rough side of him that would curse out useless doctors and stand up to Doflamingo—I could see him actually being more flustered than Law telling others about their relationship... Like, Cora is talking to Sengoku over transponder snail, and saying stuff like "yeah... I'm... kind of getting dinner with Law tonight. Yes, that Law—don't laugh, damn it, Dad!" and struggling to get his words out. Then Law comes up and takes the receiver from Cora to say, "Then we're gonna make out afterward. Have a nice evening," and hangs up.

my brain is unfortunately too obsessed full with ace/lu and lawcora to come up with anything fun for those other characters, but I'm sure someone out in the world could add on! I'd also love more fics for themmm. I know sometimes you have to "make your own food", but I'm still too deep in my Ace Era to do anything about it yet haha

I think I may make a side blog just for Helluva Boss

Now it’s not really gonna be so much of a critical blog (even if I may critique things here and there) but idk I still have a very love and hate relationship with said series. It’s actually more of a blog of an AU of how I would change things. Like redesigns and such.

I don’t fully hate it since I had fond memories with season 1 but idk something about season 2 misses the mark for me… the last episode was so bad that even my friends who love the series thought it was too much. (Actually like me, they also can’t stand season 2)

Also, I don’t wanna discuss these spindlehorse allegations. I feel like it’s not fair to jump the gun since there’s more sides to the stories and I keep seeing screenshots that provide no context at all. And just talking about that is super exhausting… like sorry guys, I rather not have people bother me about that.

However, I still like the characters I just wish season 2 didn’t assassinate them. I actually love Blitzo being an cynical asshole and he’s a favorite of mine BUT ahhhh I would prefer if he faced consequences. I’m very mixed with Stolas, I enjoyed him through season 1 since idk the morally grey with him was entertaining but eh…. The woobification happened and once again being neglectful to Octavia :””) so yeah but I had ideas I have in mind.

I think the issue with Helluva Boss, is that it should had stayed as an episodic edgy adult cartoon than forcing it to have a plot driven story. A thing with cynical characters CAN work but you should let them face consequences when they do dumb stuff. It’s kind of why I enjoy MTV’s downtown so much since that show too has cynical characters but don’t always get things easily handed to them. But now it’s like giving me the odd feeling I had with Aggrektsuko and SVTFOE when they force a ship to show that it ruins all logic 🙃🙃🙃

That being said, I have issues with the fandom and hatedom.

I really don’t wanna engage to much with the fandom since holy shit there’s so much toxic positivity there, i remember people getting angry at me for disliking Loona. (When I had my reasons) and I had to give my reasons why the show had a misogyny problem with women. Because god forbid a fan can’t have different opinions.🙄🙄🙄 I am nervous to share self ship art of my oc with Bl*tzo since oooof st*l*tz shippers may take it personal. (Even tho I plan to have blitzo and Stolas be in a friends with benefits relationship since I think that makes more sense with them )

And while I don’t really 100% believe these allegations since I think there’s missing truth, I hate how these Stans would attack Erin and Ken like guys please fucking stop. We need to have innocent until guilty, not just with Viv okay? I’ve detached myself from Viv since I’m not fond of her childish behavior but I don’t wanna jump the gun with her still. (Please don’t bother me about this I’m aware of Ken and I do hope they recover, it’s just that’s so exhausting )

As for the hatedom and antis… oooof I’ve seen antis go too far and would harass Viv and her writers and such because of a bad episode and all of that. Don’t get me wrong, I know Viv enables bad fandom behavior and even shit talks people that review her stuff and I am against that… but sometimes these haters stoop to her level. Hell one “critical” blog even went on how Viv blocked them and was all “suspicious I think not” well when you constantly got o their pages to harass her and her team, well no shit they’ll block you. And idk this person just has a very unhealthy extreme hate for Viv…. They watch her every move and look way too deep into things…

It’s just idk I hate because these people get lumped with criticals. Some critic blogs are fine I just hate they’re now lumped with antis that go too far.

Also maybe it’s me, I’m planning to create an Indie project soon and I just rather make a side blog for this stuff. I think it may be unprofessional for someone like me to dwelve into the hatedom and fandom and it’s better to surround yourself with small friends you trust.

So yeah don’t expect me going anti or Stan, it may be a bit critical but it’s also me doing fun AUs and enjoying things I do like about the show. The more you stay in toxic positivity or toxic negativity, it’s gonna eat you alive.

Yknow what more Morro headcanons while I'm at it specifically in relation to my Morro lives au

Ed and Edna absolutely adopt him. Jay brings this sad lil ghost teenager with him one time when he swings by the junk yard and their parental instincts immediately kick in. They send him little gifts all the time, doesn't even have to be a special occasion they just do. Lots of super comfy clothes and little trinkets and his favorite snacks (even tho ghosts technically dont need to eat, but im pretty sure they still can if they want? Idk i remember Cole eating a cake in skybound but maybe hes just special) and just anything they think he'd like. Morro absolutely adores Ed and Edna and all their little gifts even if he won't admit it at first and he DEFINITELY didn't tear a bit after the first time they started smothering him SHUT UP JAY

Which leads into my next headcanon that ghosts can still cry >:) they learn not to pretty quickly tho because when they cry it'll still burn them BUT Morro starts to cry again occasionally after he joins the ninja just like when he gets really emotional. Cuz he's not used to being cared about and loved like that. It's usually not a lot or for very long tho but it's still a Problem. Because everytime he cries it still burns him, which obviously hurts, and then he tends to start hyperventilating and dissolves into a mini panic attack whilst desperately trying to force himself to stop crying. And at this point he's pretty good at getting his tears to stop quickly but it's still an unpleasant experience. (The ghost crying headcanon came from a post I saw somewhere about it and how the dark marks around their eyes could be scars from the tear burns or something idk).

Morro takes a liking to all things electronic. He loves video games (even if he's not always good at them) and just find all things mechanical really intriguing and fun to learn about. And like he's not an expert or a natural with that kinda stuff necessarily (I imagine him being fairly mediocre with it all) but he still really enjoys it and is always getting Jay/Nya/Pixal/Zane to teach new stuff. (And before he was comfortable enough to ask he'd just kinda hover in the background all the time). He could sit for hours and listen to them talk about it or watch them work on stuff. He loves tinkering with simple little things.

He's a cat

He also loves cats and will stop to pet them at every opportunity. Even mid mission. The others rarely have the heart to stop him even when it's really inconvenient because it makes him happy. Sometimes tho they'll be in the middle of chasing bad guys and Morro will stop to pet a cat and they don't even notice until after the fact when they realize he's missing. And then they have to go find him. (Am I just projecting onto Morro at this point? Maybe but you can't tell me he isn't a cat person.)

Cats also love him, even when he's still a ghost.

So my conclusion as a an observer (ofcrs not good as u) I am srsly sure about that tatto related with do nd ofcrs there is a clear reason behind him giving the whale painting for his bday..(ofcrs I dont knw the reason tho) ...nd dont knw how he will survive without his team on military...I am gonna miss him so much...

I actually do think Taeyong is that dependant on Do and did have a more than a minute long thought of wanting him forever, lol. He said it directly to Do afterall. And he doesn't care about Jaehyun's wrath.

It's right to be careful with "wishful thinking", no need to describe how fans in general like to overthink and imagine absolutely unrealistic rainbow scenarios. However, in the end it comes to the individual under scrutinity. Taeyong wrote a whole song about his dog and talked about her as his only friend in high school in Lost boys. I love animals, I dedicated my life to them as a zoologist and animal artist, and even for me it is hard to imagine such dedication for a small old pet. Tae is very grateful to his sister, he said his home where his mom is, he loves his nephew, he talks about Baekhyun's support non-stop, he can't let go of his favourite dongsaeng Jaehyun, he supports his friends like Johnny or Yuta (when JohnDo had a fall out, Tae tried to pay Johnny attention a lot before cameras, smooth out the situation), he sacrificed a lot for his group, endured bullying accusations not wanting to drag into it the person involved - he is emotional and clings to the people he formed bonds with.

That being said, Tae changed in the last two years, noticeably matured, he spends more and more time with his producer friends and managers, in the city as well. He started to live alone. He is aiming for emotional independance. So he will probably be able to go through the military ok. Plus conscripts can now use mobile phones any time, so he won't be cut off from his friends and family.

Heh, Jaehyunie. Yes, he needs to include himself. And who can blame him. His friendship with Tae is complicated.

The whale for Tae is positive mental health. He compared his inner demons with sharks, and the whale is a big kind calm creature swimming in the blue sea/sky. Maybe it's him at times as well.

so officially finished kiwami 2, majima saga aside which won't take long. ignore how this isn't a screenshot, this was easier

i'm just gonna dump the thousand words or so of thoughts i put in my fic doc here for posterity and anyone who might get a kick out of reading them. lots and lots of messiness, vague spoilers for rgg online plus one itsy bitsy reference to the stage play

hot take that there were maybe some redeemable elements in the last bit (mainly all the times kaoru and ryuji talk to each other) but so much of it is so fucking stupid and full of HE WOULD NOT DO THAT (mainly kiryu). idk. i don’t hate it but it needed some work

interesting things learned tho, ryuji didn’t expect to live long, he says he made it further than he was expecting. as we now know from rggo, he already knew about his jingweonha connection and was actively ignoring it (which is why terada marks him for death in the first place. slot han in here?) and remembered the night where his father died (despite being like 2 at the time, at most). kiryu also reiterates that he sees nishiki in ryuji, which i think is fair (and the stage play people clearly agreed). ‘the least i can do is honour a man like that’ is an interesting attitude to have. also ryuji is like ‘i see why my sister fell fer ya’ which is not quite the japanese line (ish) but it’s also not the straightest thing he’s ever said. ryuji also very clearly would have doted on kaoru quite a lot, if they’d lived together as children or otherwise, and i really think we missed out on seeing more of them. maybe i’m just soft for that kind of thing.

i feel like a more interesting conundrum would have been both ryuji and kiryu being wounded from their fight, delaying it again (cos they’d done it once no reason not to do it again) but neither are moving the way they should and (believing the bomb is real) kaoru has to pick one to carry and one to leave behind. (maybe halfway down the stairs or smth?) it wouldn’t be especially original but it would make more sense imo. her going down the lift does nothing but slow her down (ig she has access to the controls and doesn’t use them for hashtag drama reasons) which i don’t think fundamentally changes her position that much from before the second ryuji fight. it also gives her smth to fucking do that isn’t just crying and grabbing fences and doing that dumbfuck charge that i don’t think she would have done (her gun hadn’t gone far! then again i have hindsight and am thinking clearer than she is). anyway kiryu pushes her to take ryuji (guilt over nishiki?) and locks them in the lift thingy and sends them down, fully ready to die now. his and ryuji’s wounds mirror each other but i feel like kiryu got the shorter end of the stick? plus he was shot slightly earlier so has been bleeding for longer.

i cannot say this enough, kiryu would not leave ryuji. like, he just wouldn’t. if there was even a chance he was still alive, he would make sure he got to someone or he would at least try. he’s at his most inactive in cutscenes in kiwami 2 (i think) and it’s frustrating as a player asdfghjkl

ALSO if sudo and date and haruka went to the effort of preparing and going up in that helicopter, why didn’t they also prepare a rope?? or smth to rescue people who were on top of the tower???? they clearly knew there was a bomb up there (beforehand or not is unclear but we don’t see them have a conversation about it) and want kiryu and co. to leave. (and not MAKE OUT ON A ROOFTOP they were really going at it huh, ryuji’s ?corpse? is right fucking there guys oh and goda jin’s? he sort of vanishes from that last bit)

also it would have been kind of funny if, while there was still that ten minutes, everyone sprinted for the stairs and made it down and they’re waiting for the building to blow and when it inevitably doesn’t they’re all just standing there checking their watches like is it late? did smth break? who wants to be the sucker and go check? can we call an ambulance for the two idiots? majima is down in the construction yard i think so he’d probably send nishida, maybe?

idk kiryu has no interest in kaoru to me. he treats her no differently to anyone else aside from the two times they kiss, both of which feel very out of character for him, and that romance subplot takes away any and all girlboss power kaoru had. she went from beating men up and threatening them with bokuto and shit to like, i love man, so sad. (they knew each other like a week!!!!!! and they’re dying for each other!!!! give me a break!!!!!) that’s not to detract from the awful fucking week she has of learning who her family are (some racism in there??? i’m not qualified to speak on that, maybe it’s just the gang thing, ) and then watching literally all of them die one after another. except mama, she’s fine and never appears again. it’s very much aiming for a ‘she can be a ‘woman’ (i.e. be emotional and like cute things and not try and match the locker room attitude of the men) and also take names’ but it doesn’t succeed at that at all. from kiryu’s conversation with her on their little date thing (which is cute, i’ll give it that) he was telling her to be true to herself, right? it's his go to line. which suggests that her kicking dudes in the face a lot and working incredibly hard (she’s a prodigy, in multiple fields! this doesn’t get explored enough) is NOT her true self, the one who plays with teddy bears and falls in love is. which, again, not that those two things can’t co-exist, but the game doesn’t allow them to either. just, ah. more wasted woman potential in a yakuza game. yayoi gets the same treatment :((( you gave me two step on me yakuza ladies and dropped the ball on both of them, come on guys. hopefully she gets to live a little in 8.

Rush - initial thoughts

Rush dropped at 2 a.m. here and I def couldn't afford to listen to it when it came out, I needed to sleep. But at 3.30 or so I had a nightmare and I woke up. Since I couldn't go back to sleep immediately, I decided to listen to one new song from Rush, to see how the album is like. And one song turned into all seventeen, because this album is that good! Here are my initial ratings:

1. Own my mind -10/10 What a way to start the album! A banger! Probably in my top 5 (although this is so hard to figure out, there are a lot of choices!)

2. Gossip - 9/10 Gets a lot of points for the lyrics, but as fun as it is, it kinda pales in comparasion to other songs. Mostly because this album is banger after banger.

3. Timezone -10/10 Best ballad on the album, hands down. Honestly, this should have been the single instead of The Loneliest. It's honest, raw and gets stuck in your head.

4. Bla Bla Bla - 7/10. The intial spoiler made me think that would be a skip, but nope, it's actually pretty fun. Also, I saw its storyline and I have to say, I love that they are creating this fictional characters and writing from their perspective. (And not to overshare, but in this particular case, I feel like I knew some people that probably think like this narrator.) They still have a long way to go before these fictional characters are well-rounded, but everyone needs to start somewhere. I love how the music serves the lyrics, so I understand why it gets so repetitive, but yeah, it's still grating.

5. Baby Said - 10/10 SINGLE, SINGLE, SINGLE! I am gonna say it over and over again, until the universe makes it happen. As soon as the song ended, I felt the need to listent to it again! Def a top 3 for me! Oh, and of course, I almost forgot to mention how much I love the theme, and rn in this moment of my life, I kimda can't relate. (Which is a bit painful, yup)

6. Gasoline - 10/10 I waited a long time for the studio version, and it didn't disappoint! Is this my favorite of the entire album? Maybe, I don't know! But it's up there.

7. Feel -9/10 Mindless fun and I love it!

8. Don't wanna sleep - 10/10 A banger, and very relatable! What more can you want?

9. Kool Kids - 3/10 .....What the hell is this?! My one skip on this album, apparently. Honestly, if I it wasn't for the live versions -and I can't say I am fond of thos either- it would have an even lower score. You know how all these people were afraid Rush would all sound like Supermodel. Yeah, that was me with Kool Kids when it was first played live. And somehow this version is ten times worse.

10. If not for you - 7/10. The second half is overall the weaker half, and this ballad kinda sets the tone for it. It's not bad at all, it's just kinda forgettable.

11. Read your diary -9/10 Again, love that they write from a fictional character's persepctive. Better than Bla Bla Bla, but it still needs to be a bit...more.

12. Mark Chapman -10/10 When I listened to it in the middle of the night -without paying attention to the lyrics because my Italian is not that good when I am sleepy- I thought it was a great earworm of a melody. Then I put it again in the morning, planning to pay attention to the lyrics, but forgot to because the melody is that great! Then, as a last resort, I muted the video and read the lyrics. Thankfully my language skills were good enough to pick up almost everything and let me tell you, I got chills. I had planned to read the English translation after, in case I missed anything, but I couldn't! Because this song paints a very chilling and scary picture! Damn! The true masterpiece IMO.

13. La fine - 10/10 I mean, I knew this before, so I knew what I was getting aka Italian rock perfection.

14. Il dono della vita -7/10 Look, I love Italian too, but this is not the strongest ballad here! Damiano's vocals are beautiful and I like -not love- the instrumental, but they don't marry well together! (Pun intended xDD) I had to look up the lyrics because my Italian may have gotten better, but it's not that good, and idk if it's google translate or what, but even lyrically, this one doesn't feel as raw and interesting as say, Timezone. I know a lot of people love it because it sounds like Teatro D'Ira -and the band confirmed it was written for it - but to me it sounds like a TDI reject. Like they put it here to reach some quota of Italian songs.

15. Mammamia -10/10 I mean, at this point, this is iconic, so is there anything more to say about it?

16. Supermodel -8/10 I did say that the second side is the weakest -not overly so, but still- one, and sadly that's the side of the singles. And as much as I like Supermodel, it pales in comparasion to other songs here. Still, it's fun.

17. The Loneliest - 8/10 When it came out, the song left me cold. I mean, I loved that the band was experimenting, but for me it was meh. In the midtime, the song definitely grew on me. I wasn't sure if I should give it a 8 or 9, but it loses points for being the album closer. I mean, for me, it doesn't really feel like a closer at all. Idk how I would have ended the album, there don't seem to be any good choices available, but this one feels like a really ??? choice.

Eventually, you came across an abandoned arcade. The image of a headless angel added to the sinister atmosphere.

"Yn, the thing I want to tell you might come as a shock but I think you deserve to know. I'd also prefer to tell you myself why I'm not particularly liked at school, and I want to tell you myself that I am actually a-"

A familiar laugh made its way to your ears. You quickly turned around to see 2 guys approaching the arcade. The big guy was laughing loudly, a cigar in between his fingers as the silver haired guy was smirking menacingly.

Without a thought, you took off, leaving Kazutora in the middle of his sentence. In the blink of an eye, the silver head was pushed back, his hand reflexively came up to his cheeks where you just punched him.

"Looks like my prey came right to me. I was just thinking about teaching you both a lesson."

"YN-" Kazutora knew who they were, they were from Valhalla, his gang members. And you just went and punched one of them. This wouldn't end well...

"Well well, if it isn't the little "this is our area" bitch. You have some nerve coming to our area at this time."

"Let's teach 'em a lesson that they wont forget shall we?"

You tightened your wrists, ready to fight. Kazutora just stood there, astound. You knew them, and they knew you. And none of you were on good terms. But he had to come out of his shock. You were his closest friend and he won't let anyone hurt you, not even his own boss if he asked to.

Hey! I have a quick convention question. There’s going to be a con near me soon(driving distance, won’t need a hotel) and I can’t afford much more than general admission. Do you think it would be worth it to just go for the panels and maybe sns? I’d hate to miss the opportunity to see the cast in person but if I cant have the “full” experience of getting autos and photo ops is it better to just stay home? Thanks!

hello! i hope you don't mind me answering publicly with a very long answer to your very quick question, but i wanted to give my honest review of going to a spn con as someone who loves spn and spnwin, but did very few ops. as a disclaimer: i am not criticizing folks who get a lot of auto/photo ops (a lot of my friends get them and enjoy them! i love seeing ppl's photo ops and hearing auto op stories!) but it's just not something i'm super interested in for myself.

short answer: my favorite part of the con was getting to meet ppl who i don't get to see much/hadn't met before and the general feeling of being part of a community. (if that sounds like you, definitely go!) doing a photo op with a group of friends and the spnwin actors made for a cute memento and we had fun with it, but i don't think you need (m)any extras to feel like you had a "full" experience unless you really want to spend a few minutes with the actors. but again; i'm not someone who cares much about directly interacting with the actors.

even more in-depth response plus some recommendations for if you go:

the panels were really fun and i highly recommend the ones with kim & bri, ruthie and dj. my understanding is that they're almost always all on friday for 3 day cons. the "ladies of spn" panel is also a good one and was on saturday. karaoke on friday night is free and super fun as an audience member - i highly recommend it! i recommend SNS as well, but also i got to be there for the rare occasion that jensen sang lol. unfortunately i was a bit out of it bc of anxiety meds so i don't think i got the "full" experience on that one, though i still enjoyed myself!

i will say that if you aren't interested in either walker or spnwin and don't have (m)any ops, you're gonna have a lot of down time so definitely take that into consideration. the only panels i was interested in on sunday were mark s and j2 (the gotham screening was a nice bonus bc otherwise it would've been a really sparse sunday for me). bc the first half of the j2 panel was almost entirely finale Qs, it had really weird downer vibes (the crowd/Qs really impact the panel vibes). once they started getting more general questions about spn and their other work it picked up a lot. jared and jensen both talking about their kids was really sweet and was probably my favorite part of their panel.

** unfortunately, both sp8 and rob had to back out due to conflicts/illness which was a bummer and i think i'd have enjoyed the con a bit more if they'd been there. but also jake abel filling in with a solo panel was fun and why i decided last minute to do jake and chill that evening.

all in all, i think the best part of cons is seeing friends who you may not usually (or ever!) get to see normally. and as fractious as the spn fandom is, we all love the same show and it's cool to see how many other ppl love the show. i really don't think auto/photo ops are necessary for a "full" con experience. m&gs might be worth the money if you wanted to get some actual time with the actors but those can be $$$ and stressful to get due to the auction process. photos are a cute memento but they are very rushed due to timing with panels/autos/m&gs. i didn't do an auto op but my understanding is that while it varies person-to-person, usually you only have a minute or two with with j2m; things are more relaxed with the rest of the cast. if i were an artist/had spn fanart i was proud of making, i'd probably do an auto op tho! (i mean, i do have spn fanart i'm proud of. but bc of the media i used, it would feel more like getting it defaced vs acknowledged lol)

side note: i do some event organizing with tight schedules as a part of my job and seriously, hats off to the scheduling folks and organizers at these events; the actors really do love engaging with fans which means almost everyone runs over and somehow the staff manage to keep the wheels not only on, but turning.

for reference, these are the "extras" that i did:

friday night karaoke (free with fri/full weekend admission - highly rec & did i mention it's free?)

SNS (definitely rec!)

jake and chill (fun, but not a "must-do")

group photo op with spnwin cast and friends

group photo op with baby and friends (v affordable and relaxed!)

i mean this in the kindest way; if you really feel like you're going to be missing out not getting any direct interaction with the actors, then i'd say skip it and save up for next time if you can. the worst feeling is paying the top of what you can afford for something that isn't quite what you wanted.

one crit thing i will say tho and i feel kinda bad about it: i thought i was prepared for how personal fans were going to get with the actors during panel q&a and... i was not. afaik CE no longer screens Qs and i don't want them to, but i wish some fans would keep in mind that their catharsis might be someone else's trigger. it's not like it happened a lot or destroyed my experience (i'm planning to go to another con in 2024), but i've never needed to take that much xanax over the course of 72hrs before.

killed my first gloom talus! an igneo talus no less...it was between me and the lightroot so i thought what the hell lol

i made it to most of the lightroot trees i had marked and now i am IN the fire temple! it fucking rules, this is already more kickass then the water temple or maybe even the skyship - i liked the gameplay for those better but as far as presentation goes this one is INNNCREDIBLE.

So many things to do, v. busy squirrel, me. i suppose these will fall on Fridays every now and then, but, really...

Bright and cheerfull, if maybe a bit on the kludgy side of things. i've always been a fan of chonky, sticker cut materials wiv a bit of wobble on them, which seems like a goofy, tiny thing to point out, but i feel like it really brings the vibe of LBP1. Like the level is actually put together from bits and bobs lying around. i almost prefer that that a more perfect "this is a place" environments.

This level is really pretty in places, but gosh is it just all over the map. You can tell that it was updated wiv each new game, and additions were made wivout much consideration to how they would fit into the feel and flow of the existing level. Still, when a scene works, it really does work well.

We talked about this one last week, and it is still so, so good. Right up there wiv Neon Dimension: Rush as one of my favourite racers.

i was listening to someone go through Saya No Uta's story while i was playing this, and wow, that game is sure a whole kind of mess. Also, that was an Urobuchi jam? i honestly had no idea. This level is... well, it's also a mess. Not in the same way Saya No Uta is; it's just early LBP1 kludgy. i do like it for that, but beyond that, there's not much to it. The multistage boss was a nice touch, tho'. i almost (almost) miss bosses in people's levels. When they were done right (which is not always the same as done well), they could have a lot of charm to them.

Ahhhhhhhhh! i fucked up the title card! And the overlay! It's Flourishing Islets, not Floating Islets. i am the worst archivist, and need to crawl into a very deep hole somewhere. Maybe if i could find a hole that had a whole hole inside of it, that would do. The level is actually pretty nice tho'. Good environment, decent gameplay. Level_Tester says it's unfinished, but honestly, it's a lot better done than any number of other levels i've played. It just needs a bit of falling action and a nice wrap-up.

i really couldn't bring myself to get into this one in the end. It's overlong and overstuffed, even if i did like the lumberjacks. i think a big part of it was the pseudo-Skulldozer bit at the end. Making the player re-do the entire sequence (wiv cutscene!) everytime they die is really asking a lot. Especially right at the end of such a chonky feeling level. i appreciate where the creator was going, but i feel no need to take the trip a second time.

This is another one that just feels like it goes on forever. Like, it's cute. Not, perhaps Miami, but very neon. It's definitely a level. But it feels more like a collection of poorly playtested bits?

i actually wound up mostly liking this one? The presentation is pretty pants, but it does a decent enough job getting the feel of the Canyons. The invisible walls in the Serpent Shrine sequence were pretty uncalled for, tho'. The cameras could have done wiv some tightening as well. It was really hard to tell where the hitboxes (hurboxes?) on the spikes were in relation to me, because of how the cameras were angled. It's why i ended up just stickering the walls in the end to mark out safe zones.

For all the goofiness here, this really is a nice level. i like how it builds itself out as you go along. That's always something i've liked seeing levels do, and is one of the things that really made me cotton to Chronos' levels before we really knew each other. Since this was done in LBP1, there're all kinds of wonky physics interactions, so the level can be broken pretty easily if you're not careful. It's funny, but the one i showed in that preview video the other week actually has a workaround, so it's pretty clear even the creator knew things could go sideways. i kinda love that?

Whumptober #9- The very noisy night

The bright, digital red clock marked 2:30 am. The dapper jolts awake when a lightning strikes and is followed by thunderous thunder. His heart raced a million miles, especially when his eyes weren’t completely adjusted to the dark. He breathes in and out to calm himself, and soon feels on the other side of the bed. To his surprise it laid empty, he would’ve expected for someone to be there sleeping next to him. He sighs quietly before turning to the edge of the bed, letting his legs dangle towards the floor.

The wooden floor was cold, as soon as it made contact with his feet it sent a chill through his whole body. If it weren’t for the thunderstorm, the hallway wouldn’t look as terrifying as it did just now, but the fact that the kitchen light was on brought relief to Jameson. As he suspected, Henrik sat at the kitchen island, a mug of recently brewed coffee in hands and next to him a stack of papers, and his phone. His long, brown hair was completely down, tho a bit messy and fluffed up. Though, before Jameson could come any closer, he made sure to knock on the wall to make himself present, he didn’t want to startle the doctor after all. Well, startle him the least he could. Jameson couldn’t really help walking around so quietly, even if he wanted to.

Still with the light knock, Henrik jumps on his chair, icy blues searching his surroundings but soon land on Jameson, and relief is evident on his face.

“Jamie, my sweet.” He spoke in a hushed tone, maybe because it was the middle of the night, or maybe to hide the ever growing worry in his voice. “Did the thunder wake you?”

Jameson nods while he walks towards where Henrik was, “{Are you okay, dear? Why didn’t you wake me?}”

“You looked so peaceful, I could not simply disturb you.” Henrik chuckled tiredly, though a sigh escapes his lips when Jameson takes a seat next to him and lays his head on top of his shoulder. “I was doing the tossing and turning, I feared if I stayed in bed any longer I would have awaken you myself.”

“{Is there something troubling you?}” Jameson signed in concern, though he holds on to Henrik’s arm and hides his face when another thunder shakes the house. Henrik can only smile warmly before wrapping both his arms around his beloved.

“I am sure it is nothing.” Though as soon as he said that icy blue eyes flickered to his phone, disappointment quickly filling his eyes when no notifications made his phone light up. And Jameson didn’t miss that.

“{You’re worried about Jackie.}” Jameson stated before placing his hand on top of the doctor’s in a comforting manner. There’s silence between them that one could hear the pitter patter of the rain hitting the windows clearly as day.

“It is too obvious, huh?” Henrik remarks with a quick smile, but soon that smile soon turns into a frown with concern. “He is reckless, all the time. Especially when it comes to flying. I sent him the text, writing him that he should spend the night here but he has not answered back.”

Jameson bites his lip, he knew Henrik was right about Jackie and now it made more sense why he was up rather than sleeping and getting ready for his next shift. He then gets an idea, and he quickly taps Henrik’s hand. Once Jameson gets the doctor’s attention, he starts signing. “{How about we take sleeping shifts? After all, you still have work in a few hours. I will keep an eye in case he comes in and needs help. Would that ease your worries, my dear?}”

There is a pause while Henrik thinks, he knew Jameson was right and he definitely needed the sleep hours. Especially if the storm got worse, there was no doubt he would be called in earlier if needed. He sighs in sort of defeat, but he did place a gentle kiss on Jameson’s forehead. “You are too kind, my love. Alright, alright. Only for a few hours. If my phone rings, you wake me up, yes?”

Jameson nodded with affirmation before gesturing the doctor to come and lay down on the couch with him. Of course, Henrik ended up falling asleep within minutes of laying his head on his lap, not that Jameson minded. At least he would have some sort of company while patrolling for the hero’s arrival. They can only hope he is staying safe out there.
