[After dinner one evening while the two were back in TN for the holidays, Nikko was sitting on a swing bench near one of the barns, working on the same beaded artwork kit of a sunset that he had started almost a year earlier. Although he had finished other beaded projects since, this was the one he had been working on when Monty randomly showed up and turned his world upside down--yet again--and the bad feelings he had stitched into it made it difficult to work on the project for more than a few minutes at a time. But he was determined to finally pick it back up and finish it--and this holiday season was the perfect time to do so.

Ignoring his shaky hands, he pulled the tiny canvas out of his bag and started to string up a thread.]
