I'm Kinda Terrified to Ask, But... Questions I NEED to Ask After You Read My Writing
I understand that many writers feel hesitant about sharing their work. It can be unnerving to think about others critiquing your writing. However, sharing your writing is crucial, especially if you're seeking feedback or thinking about publishing your work for a wider audience. Personally, I've only shared my work with a select few friends.
If you're thinking about doing the same, or if your friend has already read your entire piece, it might be helpful to ask them some questions to get their feedback and opinion on your writing. Here are a few questions you can consider asking them.
(Disclaimer: This is not my original concept; rather, it was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. However, I did ask several friends who had read my work these exact questions, so I thought I'd share them with you all as well. Please let me know if you are able to locate the original creator of the concept on Pinterest.)
Now That You've Read It, I Have Some Burning Questions
"So, uh, you finished reading my story... 👀"
• What was your overall impression? Did you enjoy it? Was it...you know, good? 😅
• Which character did you like the most? The least? And why?
• Was the pacing okay? Did the story drag at any point or move too quickly?
• Did the dialogue feel natural and authentic? Or did it sound a bit forced?
• Were there any plot points that confused you or didn't make sense?
• What was your favorite scene or moment? The one that really stood out to you.
• If you could change one thing about the story, what would it be?
• On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate it overall?
And the big one... 😨 Would you actually read more of my writing in the future?
anxiously awaits response

5 Years Of Three Houses, 5 Years Of Loving Edelgard.
Tumblr media
5 Years ago today, I was first able to enter the continent of Fodlan, I meet Edelgard and from there I fell for a character in a way I never had before. I was already a professional writer with published worked and focused on Character driven work but I was still blown away by what an amazing character Edelgard was. 5 years ago, I got Engaged at a queer con, I was playing my 2nd route of three houses having played from Three Houses. The game was with me at this wonderful landing point in my life, it was there during the rough covid era struggles, when I was deeply, deeply sick, I was sicker than I ever been, not with Covid but with stomach issues and was hospitalized multiple times in one month ending in a surgery. I ran a roleplay inspired by Three Houses in Thirsty Sword Lesbians which I played for many years, I dated one of my exes through the whole campaign and grew a lot closer to one of my current girlfriends through it. I refined a version of one of my favorite OCs Ever Lena to do a Three Houses OC AU version of her for a different roleplay and while that fell through she did end up being used for that previously mentioned TSL game.
I reviewed Three Houses after finishing all four routes, I wanted to be really through and experience every route, every story, every FF romance arc, etc before I reviewed it. I gave the game a 7/10, I think now I'd give it an 8/10 maybe but a review score is what I think of the game as an overall package. The life changing power of Crimson Flower was really the big deal for me. That was 10/10, that was peak, it was just that the other routes were nowhere near as good for me. Edelgard the revolutionary who is happy to cast herself as a villain if that's what it takes to change the oppression in the world, something that was so strong, so powerful that it was reflected into our world. She was so good at being a character who impacted a fictional world, the only reason things happen at all that people to this day get angry about people loving her, discourse about her, cast her off, make up shit, show their political asses, etc. What a fucking character to be hated so strongly, for so long by this rabid group. Keeping love from a small fan base over time is hard but maintaining hate as a fictional character, that's harder especially with a 24/7 culture war of new women to hate. However, she also maintained love, Edelgard is the most popular character in all of Fire Emblem, in the 5 years she's got the most fan art, the most votes in CYL, she clearly makes nearly the most money in the gacha given how often they make new versions of her or rerun her, she is the moment.
Tumblr media
Of course, it is not just Edelgard I love but the Black Eagles as a whole from the classic roster to the extended family of Mercedes, Lyesthia, Shamir, Leonie, to the Hopes additions of Monica and Shez. Edelgard stands so tall but she doesn't overshadow her amazing allies in changing the world. Even the men, me a famous not man enjoyer, finds at worst like, kinda boring rather than like repulsive. Plus I really love Hubert and Jeritza both as characters and think they are lovely, brilliant characters I wouldn't want to see replaced.
Three Houses hit me in a way "better" games haven't hit me in. I still think about the characters, the world, the politics, the ideas, the lore, the romances, everything so often, daily. I love so much art, most of this little blog is me talking about art I engaged with and I struggle to think of another piece of art that took me by storm in the same ways that Three Houses has. I'd love to have another game sweep me off my feet and have me giggling like someone who just met their idol but even if it doesn't happen again I am glad it happened with Three Houses.
Tumblr media
Then there was Three Hopes and I fucking love Three Hopes, it only exists in the context of Houses but Scarlet Blaze and Golden Wildfire blew me the fuck away. Both routes do a ton for the characters in the series, the plots are fantastic, bringing Monica back and making her one of the best characters in the Fire Emblem series was so fucking great, and I adore the Warriors gameplay. Three Houses was a gift that not only gave itself but Hopes which really just furthered helped put Houses in focus, tie in way more lore, way more context, and way more information. I could explore the world of Fodlan even more honestly, I still hope for Hopes DLC because I just love this game.
It was so amazing to see Edeglard freed of Those Who Slither in the dark and the way her revolution works if she could just have saved her lesbian best friend and probably girlfriend. I loved to see the new amazing paralogues, the way the war shakes out, how she operates free of enemies resting in her house, how the nobles react when Edelgard is a free agent, the way the church fights back in this new time line. It really exciting and it is fun to see how the world once again revolves around the actions and moves of Edelgard and how she sets Fodlan Ablaze with change but now with more time to do things more carefully. It is such a great alterative look.
Tumblr media
I don't have enough glowing things to say about Three Houses but I do have some things to say for the future of my favorite video game series. I deeply hope the future of Fire Emblem is more like Houses and not like the games around it. Houses was a return to form and the first story that blew me away since Radiant Dawn. I want more games that have the style and budget and scope and ambition of a Houses. I don't really trust intelligent systems to bring me that kind of story, so I hope they work with Koei again in the future and let their writers do their thing,
I love the smaller scale Fire Emblems but I can play indie games and smaller budget SRPGs and get the scope and ambition of a smaller scale Fire Emblem but only Nintendo money can bring the kind of game Houses is to the table. I really want to see the expensive class system brought back hopefully without the sexism and the big roster of characters and so much of the little things that made houses so charming. I don't need multiple routes but I would like a good political message like Crimson Flower to be in the future. I don't know if I'll ever love a character not made by me or my loves ones as much as I love Edelgard again but I want them try and I want them to pull it off.
Happy 5 Years Fire Emblem Three Houses, you are something special. If you want to see more of me gushing about houses you can read my fics here https://archiveofourown.org/users/AlexisSara/works?fandom_id=23985107

Hi I’m interested in writing, but idk how and where to start. Any advice?
Starting your writing adventure can seem daunting, but it’s actually the best time to have fun and discover what the craft means to you. And to get started with writing, I have a few basic concepts to consider.
Whether you’re writing poetry, a novel, short stories, nonfiction, or even screenwriting, the below concepts are versatile, and work as general steps on how to start.
Let’s dig in!
Start small, build a habit
The first thing to do to get started with writing is to actually start writing. Earth-shattering response, I know.
Start with finding a small routine that works best for your schedule and try it for about two weeks to gauge if changes are needed.
For example, you can spend five minutes during lunch every day to type whatever is on your mind. Then, once that becomes an instinctual habit, increase it to 10 minutes. You can also experiment with half-hour increments every other day, or, your routine becomes writing a few hours on the weekend because of your work schedule.
There’s no magical writing routine you should force yourself to do. Everyone has their own pace, and it’s up to you to find yours. There’s no wrong answer to this.
Experiment, adapt, and find your flow. Finding a routine can take a few tries, and that routine can also change after a significant life event (you can also have a different version of the routine for low energy days). So no need to be rigid with yourself. But once you find your flow, do it as consistently as possible.
As for what to write: write about your day, let out an emotion, tell a story from childhood, practice talking as a character; whatever fancies you at that moment. As long as you’re writing, whether it’s 5 or 5,000 words, you’re doing it right!
P.S. Looking for more on building a writing habit? Our course “Write to Play” helps you get started with writing and learn to enjoy it! Our Discord Community also hosts weekly writing sprints and other activities, so you can connect with fellow writers and work on goals together. Both are free to join.
Ask why you want to write
Writing may look like a glamorous career or hobby, but as with many things, it takes effort. And your level of writing effort depends on why you write in the first place.
Some people get started with writing because they think publishing something will make quick bucks. But it should never be about the money (although money is a nice bonus). Writing is about community and entertainment via the oldest form of connecting with others: storytelling.
We write because we love to tell stories. We write because we want to share a message with others through written expression. We write because we are natural creators of worlds and characters that weave adventures.
So ask yourself why you really want to write. Do you want to connect with others through your personal experiences? Is there a message you want to share with the world? Do you want to entertain the masses with meaningful adventure? If the answer to any of those questions is yes, great news! You’re on the right track.
If you need a “why” example, I’ll give you my reason for writing poetry and fiction. It’s to advocate mental health and self-worth.
After going through a personal journey of discovering self-acceptance, I want people to follow their hearts and core desires, and to love themselves for who they are. Because that’s true happiness–valuing your core identity.
Genre and theme
Genre and theme are two vital things you need to get started with writing.
Genre is fairly straightforward. Most aspiring writers already have one in mind. However, if you’re not sure where to start, think about the genres that your favorite books, movies, or TV shows are, and go from there.
Do you like epic fantasy and adventure? Try the action genre. Do you enjoy dystopian settings questioning the ethics of society? Society and worldview are great for getting deep and philosophical. Or do you love a character rising to the top with a successful career or sports tournament? Look into performance and status.
Theme takes a little more effort, but if you spend time on your “why,” that will help significantly! Because the theme you write about, from a poem to a novel, typically derives from your “why.”
Take my own “why” again as an example. Since it’s about mental health, I spend my days on themes of self-discovery, societal influence on “success,” inner demons, acceptance–the list goes on. But they all come from my overarching goal to show how valuing your true self brings real happiness.
Here’s another example: say you have a personal experience of winning a sports tournament because you pushed yourself, even though you wanted to give up. Perhaps that’s inspiration for a project with the message, “with effort comes reward.” That theme opens all kinds of opportunities, from looking at the best-suited genre to what kind of story and character to write about.
Which leads to my next concept!
Characters and story basics
Genre and theme play right into your characters and story. This is where we dive into some mechanics of storytelling, starting with the concept of story and characters, and then how the theme and genre affect them to create a basic project outline.
To start, your story is the external sequence of obstacles your character faces, leading to learning the theme at the end. Your character is the one going through the story’s external events while internally processing them.
Your theme then determines the “what” in your story: what message the story shares to readers at the end, and what core events lead to the theme reveal. Meanwhile, the character(s) are the “who” being affected by the theme throughout the story.
With that, the theme determines the beginning and end of your story, as well as the path of growth for your character to experience. This is the bare minimum you need when writing a project, like a novel or short story. Even if you don’t use outlines.
For the end of the story, we already mentioned the theme reveal; and that’s typically portrayed through the character facing a final challenge–like a big boss fight. And through that challenge, the character grows from learning the theme. So the theme dictates the end of the story by what the final event and message are, and who the character becomes after growth (or lack of, for tragic ending).
From there, we can move backwards to the beginning of the story. In storytelling, the ending is the opposite of the beginning. So, if the story’s end has a character learning the theme through a final challenge, then the story’s beginning introduces that character with a major flaw to overcome by learning the theme; while starting the sequence of obstacles that eventually leads to the theme reveal at the end.
Just like that, you have the theme crafting the basics of your story with a dynamic character!
But let’s dive further with genre. Genre helps plot the “how,” as in, how your story and character’s journey are told (i.e. action, romance, etc). Each genre has specific conventions for a story to follow, thus acting as a great template to plot lengthier projects like novels.
For example, romance genres start the story with two characters meeting as potential love interests (the meet cute), and typically end with them falling in love. Thus, if you choose romance as your genre, then you work your theme, story, and character(s) into those parameters.
Once you do that, you’ll notice you’ll have a basic outline for a project. Shall we go through an exercise to see the magic?
Let’s go back to the theme example of “with effort comes reward,” and combine it with a character, story, and genre.
Based on that theme, the character needs a major flaw at the story’s beginning, one to overcome by learning the lesson. Also, the beginning starts a sequence of obstacles that must lead to the character getting rewarded from effort.
So let’s create a character who believes everything comes easily to them–someone born into a rich family and had everything handed to them at a young age. That’s the flaw. And for the sequence of obstacles to start their growth, we’ll have the character lose their inheritance, forced to figure out how to live on their own.
These obstacles become the hardships of living without wealth. That way, by the end of the story, the character comes face to face with the theme, realizing if they want “reward” (or perhaps fulfillment), they must put effort into what they do. The story thus ends with the character growing and understanding it’s worth working toward something.
Now add the romance parameters mentioned above for genre. After the character loses their inheritance, they meet someone at a local store; one who becomes friends and helps tackle the character’s personal dilemma. This also helps the character realize genuine happiness as they also fall in love. Therefore, they find their path through their own efforts, without inherited wealth, and live happily ever after.
Tackle that mindset
There’s only one mindset every writer needs to have before they get started with writing, and that’s this phrase:
Perfection is failure.
Trust me, as a healing perfectionist, that sounds wild. But here’s something crazier.
Not even your published work will be perfect.
You will always reread your work and think a word needs tweaking, or a character needs different reactions in dialogue. Some published books still have typos, too.
With projects like novels, most writers never finish their first draft because they spend time and energy editing the story as they write. To perfect it as they go.
But you don’t know how the novel goes until you write to the end of it.
Like creativity, your project will change and flow. Especially in the beginning, as your first draft is the discovery draft; the foundation of the project. That’s not the time for tweaking, but the time for building.
So allow your first draft to be messy. Get the whole concept out first. Then, you will have better knowledge on how to edit the entire project. Not just parts of it that might change anyway as you get closer to the end. Don’t waste your precious time and creativity like that.
This is the same for me with poetry. I always focus on the poem’s core message first, then I’ll play with pretty prose and rhyming.
So focus on the journey of writing the draft and getting the full idea down. Again, creativity is fluid. Allow your writing to be the same.
My favorite book coach discusses perfectionism with the analogy of baking a cake. You can’t put icing on a cake without letting it fully bake first. Finish baking your draft to the end, then add the icing edits.
And there you have it! Those are my five main concepts to remember to get started with writing. And those are merely the tip of the iceberg of what the craft has to offer you–but remember, this is the time to have fun and discover!
Are you ready to dive in and get started with writing? I can’t wait to see what you create.
Happy writing!

I'm Publishing Serial Webnovels
Hi guys! I'm @elvensemi, and some of you might know me from writing Dragon Age fanfic Keeping Secrets, or from writing weird gargoyle porn with @unpretty, or from that time I accidentally told a popular blog I write dragon porn on my main blog @solitarelee, or maybe from that one fanfic where the knight with a crossdressing kink fails at slaying a dragon so hard he gets seduced!
I've graduated college, and you know what that means! Student loans Free time! And so I'm finally pursuing my long term dream and publishing serial webnovels. The short version is: ebooks, I'm publishing ebooks via Patreon to see if it works because I don't want to deal with Amazon and marketplaces. Chuck Tingle does it, kind of!
I am writing such things as!
The Problem with Faeries An urban fantasy series for fans of Holly Black, featuring faeries and a librarian who has been cursed by a witch to turn into a tiny dog at night.
Everything at Once A coming of age fantasy novel set in a post-post-apocalyptic world full of many monsters and very few humans, with a nonbinary (genderfluid) protagonist and a rotating cast of gods and monsters.
The Demon Isles An adult romance series set in the same world as Everything at Once, this one's for the monsterf*ckers. Step into the shoes of an escaped slave who's been stranded in Fantasy Australia But All The Dangerous Things Can Be Seduced.
A Place Among the Stars An adult sci-fi political space opera that is also technically just solidly omegaverse sm*t plus space dragons. That's right, one of my friends dared me to write omegaverse and I overdid it and now they're aliens! All for you my friend.
Novelizations of works that previously existed only as RPs, such as Sanctuary and The Kingdom of Aeris.
AND SO MUCH MORE.
For $5 you get access to SFW material, and for $10 you get access to that and the things that are not SFW. You can view a full summary of the serials I'm working on at tinyurl.com/SemiSerials , or click the read more.
The Demon Isles (NSFW, Second Person)
Oceanside is a world full of elves and gods, monsters and magic. You, however, a human with no magic, no martial training, and a fear of... most things. Stranded on an unfamiliar island full of monsters, you must learn to harness humanity’s true power in order to survive. The issue with that is, as far as anyone can tell, humanity’s true powers are friendship and fuckability.
The Demon Isles is a erotic, second-person monsterfucking romp through the dangerous Demon Isles. The second person character is referred to by gender neutral terminology and they/them pronouns, physical appearance left ambiguous. Sex scenes have two versions with different sets of genitalia for the main character. Tags and content warnings are available for each chapter.
The Problem with Faeries (SFW, Third Person)
The problem with faeries is that we love them. We know all the sharp and cruel ways they twist us apart and we love them with a helpless, hopeless foolishness that never fades until it destroys us.
Bree is a human living in Valesport, a small town on the east coast of the United States that functions as a secret haven for the supernatural. As a cursed human, it’s one of the safer places for her... at least, safe from other humans. Everything else Valesport has to offer remains a threat. She’s already had her run-ins with werewolves, vampires, and whatever the hell Jean Cernunnos is... so, in retrospect, she was probably due to get into trouble with the Fae.
A fan favorite finally finding a venue of publication, The Problem with Faeries is a SFW urban fantasy with a side of romance perfect for fans of Holly Black. It is third person and follows the point of view of the protagonist, Bridget “Bree” Corey, as she finds herself tangled up trying to navigate faerie drama and her own personal feelings, neither of which she is particularly equipped to handle.
Everything at Once (SFW, First Person)
Babs wants everything the world has to offer... everything except what it’s actually prepared to hand over. As the eldest child of the ruling noble family--or what passes for it--of the only human village remaining old and large enough to still have a ruling noble family, even if just in name, Babs’s whole life has been laid out in front of them since the moment they were born. And they want none of it. However, after a bold escape from the village they knew all their life, they find themselves adrift in an unfriendly world of monsters and magic that seems much larger and much less friendly than they had hoped.
Everything at Once is a SFW fantasy novel set all over the world of Oceanside as our determined protagonist, Babs, attempts to explore all there is to explore and experience all there is to experience (it is possible they have not thought this through). Babs is a non-binary, gender fluid illusionist referred to varyingly by he, she, and they pronouns based on presentation. The story is a first person mixed POV exploring a wide range of characters and topics, but always staying focused on the many transformations of the main character as they learn what it is they want... and what it is to want.
Tumblr media
Future Projects: Projects that are in development but do not have a set release date yet.
A Place Among the Stars [Working Title] (NSFW)
A Place Among the Stars is a NSFW erotic political space opera featuring Omegaverse style aliens and also space dragons, amongst other alien races. It features two protagonists: an exiled and excommunicated Saint who once led a cult that threatened the peace and stability of his homeworld, and a mid level government official presiding over the walled ghetto where the Ab’ed keep all foreign visitors and immigrants to their planet. They quickly find themselves entangled: politically, as the Saint once again threatens the stability of the world around him--in more ways than one--and sexually, as the tension between the two reaches a fever pitch.
Sanctuary (NSFW, Third Person)
Most people would consider Ren unlucky. After all, she’s been homeless since she was a child, has no living family she knows of, and she was recently kidnapped by sex traffickers and ripped away from the city she had been living in for years. But as far as Ren is concerned, she’s the epitome of good luck: not only has she survived all the things life has thrown at her, but she’s escaped said sex traffickers and even found shelter in an abandoned, boarded up cathedral. The fact that the cathedral, undisturbed for a century or more, is home to a guardian whose only experience with the world is violently murdering intruders, well... once again, whether that’s good or bad luck is based purely on interpretation.
Sanctuary is a NSFW urban fantasy erotic romance featuring a cis female protagonist and a male (as these things go) gargoyle love interest, as well as a mix of other romantic interests (primarily M/F with some F/F or NB/F thrown in). Tags and content warnings are available for each chapter. This fan-favorite returns in serialized, ebook form for easy reading. Follow Ren’s journey anew from mixed perspectives as she explores the streets of Valesport and finds something she’s never had before; a place to call home.

Sugar Rush : October CPNs
Tumblr media
This was an insane month to say the least, I’m not even exaggerating. Things happened that will go down in fandom history. Our detective skills in looking for places and trying to piece a story was tested and the clowning was at it’s peak. I would have to say that by far, this year, it’s this month that generated lots of noise. Both sides were just throwing sweets at us and we can’t even keep up.
It also proved once more the charm of turtle cpns and why context, history and time is important to fully enjoy a candy:
“The charm of turtle candy is that it is incomplete. It is not a one-time solution. You feel suspicious at the beginning, but you are more sure later, and then at some unknown moment in the future, you suddenly get it. The correct answer, everything forms a closed loop, it's so cool”
• YH poster for WYB is from a BJYX fansite
• On 10/1, there has been some talk about WYB’s hair hiding beneath his beanie when he arrived at the airport to Paris. People’s guess is that he is blonde. Some people are connecting it to the blonde character in the XZS vlog.
Tumblr media
People are free to interpret this however they want, as a candy, it appears to ZZ giving us a clue as to WYB dyeing his hair. Personally tho, this person is a member of GG’s staff & his friend who also takes part in putting out the amazing materials we get. People particularly remembered one of them had blonde hair during MFW. Anyway, I understand why people are so happy about this & interpreting it the way they do and go ahead and it this if you want 🍭
It also doesn’t help that the character kinda looks like WYB in Paris which is some next level coincidence. I can’t even with this fandom.
• I’m adding this beautiful analysis of Pie @potteresque-ire about the Mid Autumn festival photos posted by our boys. It’s technically from last month but i already published it before I read this meta. It just gives more weight to the meaning of it aside from how it matches 🌙
• Mengniu exhibit with zz and wyb standees
• Camera/Leica CPN : This has actually become everyone’s favorite candy of the year. It started out so simple and almost like a galaxy brain sort of clowning but both sides ended up “confirming” what we speculated. I have talked about this at length and in different parts below :
Part One / Part Two / Part Three / Part Four / Part Five
10/6, WYB continues to show off his camera. Almost all the photos in the set released by YBO, he is holding it, and there are falling cameras on Weibo in that post!!!! 📸
Tumblr media
There is also this CPN on what WYB is taking a photo of and with people using google earth and comparing, they found out it’s the number 23. What a beautiful number. He really loves it! ♥️

• XZ 1005 birthday CPNs : one // two 🎂
• A photography studio shared a shot of GG for his bday and the kadian is 18:23. This same company also released a bday photo for WYB’s. They have worked with the boys a couple of time.
• The same description of something being like a film
• Glasswork art piece from France that could have been a gift and souvenir for GG
• Camping site and it’s connection to WYB selfie - At this point, there’s been so many “evidence” collected by bxgs and the most accurate date is really 8/14-8/15 that this “celebration” was done. There are also posts from people who visited the place and a motorcycle “parade” took place, so we know it’s a popular place to ride your moto. It’s one of the “services” they provide and looks like something that WYB took advantage of.
• Is one of the photographers yibo? 📸

• On 10/16, XZ released a tribute song which is government sponsored of course. In the past months, the go-to person we usually see singing for these causes is WYB and now it’s XZ. This is not exactly CPN, but i like the way that they are both people seen as positive influences and may be used to sing for certain events. Maybe one day they can do a duet? LOL.
• This one is so funny, there is an interview in a Taiwan TV show i guess. and the question was, “Talk about the general interests of gay men in Taiwan” ; the person answering is also gay and he said it’s : fitness, mountain climbing, raising cats, and Shiba Inu. 😂😂😂
LOL. Why does it remind us of two people? It’s so specific. Who have always wanted to raise both a car and a dog (shiba inu) and is currently loving fitness and mountain climbing. They might as well add camping on there 🤪🤪🤪
Tumblr media
I don’t really believe in stereotypes and that there is a certain “checklist” that makes you gay or whatever— your interests are personal and what you enjoy. maybe you will be influenced by your environment but just do what you want. Tho I understand why this was so amusing to c-turtles cause they immediately thought of ZZ & WYB when they saw this.
• Even holding the camera is the same 😂✌🏼like a true photographer. Not acting all cute and using a camera to “pose” but actually using it.

• Updated mole signature by XZS
• XZS video x Bottled Joy Parallel. 🫶🏼 ; and the fact that Bobo’s is by Bottled Joy, a brand who is known to be BJYX bias ( allegedly ) . Tho this was most likely filmed before that XZS video. A happy coincidence. && This is the renewal we have been waiting for.

This week’s writer spotlight feature is:  fragilecapric0rn! @fragilecapric0rnn has written 22 fics in the Stranger Things fandom and 21 of them are in the Steddie tag!
@cheatghost recommends the following works by @fragilecapric0rnn:
It Might Be Worth It For Once
clown music at the disco
you can take the heart from your chest to use as a compass when you are lost
Catch Me (I'm Falling)
Anyway, It's About Old Friends
"Sen's body of work is like a truly love letter to the characters. No matter the universe, Steve and Eddie always feel authentic to themselves. Sen's love for classic rom-coms influences a lot of her writing and makes for really romantic, touching stories. It's an absolute delight to dive into a world crafted by this author!" -- @cheatghost
Below the cut, @fragilecapric0rnn answered some questions about their writing process and some of their recommended work!
Why do you write Steddie?
I think in May of 2022 I was bit by the same bug as everyone else. Before I started writing Steddie, I was on a 4-year fic writing hiatus, and it was like seeing those two interact on screen zapped my brain awake. The chemistry, the potential, the fact that one half of the ship got ripped away from us too soon. All of those components really did something to my brain and I decided I had to write them and I haven’t looked back since!
What’s your favorite trope to READ?
I love a idiots to lovers! These two really have the potential to fit that trope so well!
What’s your favorite trope to WRITE?
Second-chance at romance! If you’ve seen any of my fics, you know that I love and will take any chance to write 90s older steddie, haven’t spoken or seen each other in years, who re-meet and fall in love. It is so them, it is my favorite version of them. It’s the version of them that lives in my head!
What’s your favorite Steddie fic?
There are so many good ones to choose from, but I think I have to go with Show Me the Place Where He Inserted the Blade by the incomparable, the magnificently talented and outstanding Cheatghost. Lou, who I am very proud to call a friend, is one of the most talented people I know and I feel very lucky to have had them brought into my life via the Steddie brainrot.
Is there a trope you’re excited to explore in a future work but haven’t yet?
Is it lame if I say no? LOL. Honestly, I have written almost everything I have felt the need to explore with this pairing. A lot of my ideas moving forward are expansions/continuations of ideas that I already started or have posted before.
What is your writing process like?
Right now it’s at its most unstructured because I am rawdogging life without my ADHD meds for the first time in 7 years, which has been a whirlwind but I am managing. However, it usually depends on the fic I’m writing! For a lot of my longfic, I have a physical notebook that has an outline and major plot points I want to hit at certain times in my stories. Other times, for the shorter fics/one-shots, I just write them all in one go. It starts with a (usually silly) idea, and then I get possessed by the writing demons, and suddenly, I haven’t moved from my chair in 2 hours and I have four thousand words on my screen. I contain multitudes!
Do you have any writing quirks?
I am a victim of the: One word. One phrase. Lin breaks for emphasis. And I will be doing it until someone who is being paid real money to publish one of my original works tells me to knock it off!
Do you prefer posting when you’ve finished writing or on a schedule?
Again, asking if it’s bad if I say neither? When I first started posting fic again, I was very much writing it all and then posting it over the course of a few days. But now, I tend to write sporadically and post even more sporadically. And I prefer the latter! Fanfiction, and fandom in general, is a collaborative experience in its heart and soul. One of my favorite things about longfic is posting a chapter and seeing what people take away from it, because 9/10 it’ll be different then what the writer thinks they’re going to take away! And the chance to change and rework and let yourself be influenced by other fans of the ship is taken away when you write it all at once and post it all at once.
Which fic are you most proud of?
Anyway, It’s About Old Friends. Even in its unfinished form, it is my magnum opus. My white whale. I have done some of my best writing in it (chapter 2 MY BELOVED) and the fact that its so close to the end is both exciting and terrifying. It is a fic I wrote and continue to write for me, and the fact that other people are reading and enjoying it is a win!
How did you get the idea for It Might Be Worth It For Once?
HA! So, I was chatting with my friend Emily (JudasofSuburbia) about a potential Pornstar!Steve AU offhandedly back in the fall. Then, I got paired with them for a little fic exchange between friends, and it felt natural to take that one off little conversation and turn it into a fic for her. It was one of those fics that started out as a silly idea and then suddenly it’s been six hours and I wrote the whole thing in one go! After some polishing and editing, it became a Pornstar!AU with not as much smut as I expected. It was so fun to write, made even more fun as it was for a dear friend.
When writing Anyway, It's About Old Friends, what was something you didn’t expect?
I didn’t expect it to change and mold and morph in the way that it did. There is a version of this fic where they do hook-up earlier, there’s a version where they re-meet at gay club and not a wedding, there’s a version where Steve marries a Evie and Eddie is Raul. But, this version feels the most right. It’s a story about heartbreak, about finding love (in all it forms) in unexpected places, and it’s about found family most of all. All of that was stumbled on accidentally! My only intention was to write a Steddie-fied When Harry Met Sally fic, and accidentally flashed my heart and soul. Whoops!
What inspired clown music at the disco?
I used to be an opener at a coffee shop and there is something so disorienting and mind altering about having disco music blasting on the speakers at 4am. But, it was in one of those moments, where I was so tired I was nauseous, that the fic idea came to me! I had already been thinking of writing as my first fic, Steve and Eddie accidentally have a Devil’s Sacrament moment at the gay bar, but the line “But it’s Disco Night”, came to me at the ungodly hour of 4 in the morning. What a time!
What was your favorite part to write from you can take the heart from your chest to use as a compass when you are lost?
The Never Have I Ever Scene! It was the first time I wrote the entire party in one scene and it’s chaotic and a little messy but it was one of my favorite parts of the fic. It also made me realize how much I love writing ensemble scenes! Just everyone trying to talk over each other, chaos in its best form.
How do/did you feel writing Catch Me (I'm Falling)?
I wrote this fic in the span of like almost 3 weeks? I was sick and burnt out for most of the time I was writing it, but it was almost a compulsion. I had the idea and I just HAD to write it. No outline, just vibes and Steve Harrington in a cheerleading uniform! I took it down for a while because I was turning it into something else, but then had a change of heart and put it back up. And part of me is glad that I took it down for a moment because people love to be weird about the feminizing Steve’s character, and even though I was writing him as a cheerleader, I tried really hard to keep him earnestly himself, and in character.
What was the most difficult part of writing Anyway, It's About Old Friends?
Writing about San Francisco while being the most homesick I have ever been in my life. Also writing Eddie in those first few chapters as an asshole but not unlikable. I didn’t want him to be “fine” (because no one is fine in this universe, especially not in the beginning) but I also didn’t want him to do or say anything too bad. I think I got a handle on it pretty well.
Do you have a favorite scene and/or line from any of your fics?
In Faces Freedom With A Little Fear, the first scene in the hospital with Steve’s sister. She storms in, threatens federal agents, all for her brother. JJ Harrington you will always be famous!
Do you have any upcoming projects or fics you’d like to share/promote?
Just my current WIPs! Anyway It’s About Old Friends; the When Harry Met Sally AU of my dreams. Hand on My Stupid Heart; the modern AU, where the UD exists but everyone has iPhones and Steve deals with his bisexuality!
Outside of these questions, Is there anything YOU would like to add?
Shout out to my boys! Kkpwnall, judasofsuburbia, figthefruitfaeth, gideoncharov, cheatghost, fastcardotmp3, snowangeldotmp3 you guys rule and they’re all so talented!!!! Thank you to whoever nominated me! I feel the love and give it back to you tenfold!!!!!!

A/N: Please be aware that I'm not actually an active player of Genshin- I just like the character designs. However, I did at least try and research a bit of the information. So if something is off or incorrect, I apologize. It was simply what came up through google. Also, let's just- not talk about how this took me 2 months to finish 💀. Also, I didn't focus very well on the editing, some grammar might be off, just don't mind that.
------------
"Sir," you found your conversation was shattered by your employee, "What is it?"
"The Doctor requests your presence." You sigh in dismay. What could that psycho possibly want? Shuffling from your seat, you nod, "I'll be on my way then," you glance back at your guest. You had been speaking with one of the other Harbinger's. You collected your coat that had been draped over the chair, taking your sweet time before dismissing yourself from the room and stepping into the cold, wintry night of Snezhnaya. You were never one for the cold, the numbing of your fingers and nose. It was all a nuisance, but you had been stationed here by special request of the doctor himself. It wasn't unusual for the doctor to call for you. It was most obvious he picked favorites, quite confidently, too. With his choice in you, rumors began to arise. Nothing harmful to either you or the doctor's reputation. However, people began to speculate that you had become a sort of assistant for the doctor. It made sense, seeing as he called you in from time to time. Honestly, you heard the rumor so often that you were beginning to believe it yourself.
You made your away across the snowy plain, leaving footprints which luckily, your coat hung long enough to cover as you entered a new sort of domain. Your fingertips freezing thanks to the wind's icy touch. Speaking of, it seemed to be speeding up by the second. Your eyebrow twitched in irritation. What perfect timing he has. Snow was falling heavily and winds speeding up; the onsets of a blizzard. You picked up the pace, it'd be hard to make it through a blizzard, besides, you already hated the cold so very much. With no sign of the sun, only the dim lantern lit what was once a sidewalk, but had only been covered by the crunchy white sheet. You wondered curiously how many boots have tread this same path.
You reached the door eventually, stepping in with no worry to knock. It took a little effort to force the door shut, the wind beating against it harshly.
"Perfect timing."
The smooth yet threatening coo caught you off guard. Looking up, you could immediately recognize the azureous shade of blue that textured the doctor's feathered, sleek hair. You grit your teeth, biting back the thoughts that hummed about his beauty, the way pieces of his hair fell into place, perfectly framing his eerily serene face. Scoffing, you straightened up, dusting the extra snow from your clothes. "Worst timing," you shot back bitterly, knocking the snow from your boots, leaving his floor soaked. "Right, you never could handle the cold," Dottore hummed. You hated the way he seemed so at peace, how he never showed any weakness. "Make yourself comfortable," he chimed. It sounded less like an offer and more like demand, but perhaps that was just because of how you knew him to be; hardly ever polite or gentle.
You watched as he padded off into the depths of the building. You had hardly been to his living quarters, but, nonetheless, you slid off your coat, draping it over the coat rack before taking a comfortable seat on the couch. Thinking silently about what he might need this time.
The silence was broken as gentle footsteps alerted you of his return. Your harsh gaze glanced up to meet him. Your gaze softened in surprise as he passed you a mug of warm coffee. Coffee? This late?  You rolled your eyes subtly, glaring at the cup. "Not to your liking?" He hummed. "I know you're not much for hot chocolate." You couldn't help but feel rather surprised that he managed to remember such a simple thing. It made you wonder what else he could recall.
"I'm not much for the cold either," you hissed, rather sarcastically. Earning you a soft chuckle from the other. You cupped your hands carefully around the mug, accepting his offer. Though, rather hesitantly. The warmth emitting from the gently painted porcelain heated your iced hands. You couldn't help but feel appreciative for the warmth. Taking a gracious sip from the mug, you look to him, who had taken a seat across from you. Draping one leg over his other as he rested, silently watching you divulge yourself in his creation. Your guard tightened as you lowered the mug, "Did you drug it?" You inquired rather harshly. "Oh, my," the harbinger chuckled. "Whether I did or did not... you trusted me enough to take it, yes?" He cooed. You grit your teeth. Trusted? Well, yes, you did take it, but it was hardly anything close to trust.
Silence filled the room for a few seconds before he sighed. "No, I didn't lace it," he leaned forward, moving his leg from the other as he cupped his hands in front of him. The way he leaned forward, almost over the table making you shift uncomfortably. Despite his plated mask, you could feel his eyes on you. Watching you. Observing you. You stared back, giving him his own treatment as you examined him entirely, his posture, his clothes, every bit of him, the way you could imagine his muscles flexing and moving beneath his shirt, the way his hands rested calmly against each other, imagining the temperature they'd feel like.
"Careful now, you'll break the cup with a grip like that." Your attention was brought back to the doctor as he chuckled. You hadn't noticed how you had begun to grip the cup. You avert your eyes before resting them, sighing as you sat back, your head falling back to rest against the padded cushion of the couch. "You seem a little out of it, hm?" He chimed. You opened your eyes. He had made it behind the couch staring down at you. "How did you -" You started, only to be caught off guard by his hand gently grazing your neck, you flinched. "Go on," he nodded. You swallowed harshly as your curiosity about what they might feel like was fulfilled. They were a gentle cold. You shivered a bit as you felt his finger trail to the indention above your manubrium. You flinched as he applied the slightest of pressure. "What are you doing...?" You growled lowly, your face heating a bit at his gentle touch.
"Feeling your heartbeat," He hummed. "Did you know that was possible here? Directly above your manubrium, there is a gap between the clavicals, also known as the suprasternal notch, or as you might know better, the jugular notch, it's visible externally."
You glared up at him, irritated by his sudden lesson on the human anatomy. You opened your mouth to bite back a response, only to quickly close it as he dug his finger in a bit more, the uncomfortable pressure rendering you silent, your heart sped up a bit.
"It's unguarded. I can feel your heartbeat best from here," he smiled. You grit your teeth as his smile grew. "Are you afraid?" He asked, his gaze that was so transfixed on your neck lowered to meet yours, releasing the pressure. Your eyebrows furrowed in disdain. "I have every right to be, with you touching me without my permission," you snap. Dottore hummed curiously, "And yet, you haven't moved from my reach?"
You flinch at his response. He was right, you knew he was, but the cold sensation from his hands felt good against your skin, despite your lack of affection for the cold weather. The contrast between him and your body heat felt calming somehow. You felt his hand suddenly wrap around your neck, causing you to gasp in surprise. "Did you know the neck is a very sensitive and vulnerable area? There's even a risk when choking someone, for example..." you felt his fingers press into your carotid artery. You breathe in a sharp intake of breath, dropping the mug on the floor with a shatter as your hands flew up to grab his, attempting to pry his fingers from your throat, only for his point of pressure to switch, his palm hitting your windpipe. "F-fuck off-!" You choke out, his grip releasing you entirely. You gasp out, catching your breath and rubbing your neck softly as you glared above at him. "Fucking prick..." you growl, a hot sensation tingling your thigh as you remove your eyes from him. "Fuck..." You sneer at your coffee soaked pants, you hadn't even realized the hot liquid in the heat of the moment. Let alone the shattered porcelain littering the ground, but you could care less about that.
Dottore seemed to hum contently as he found his way back around the couch, inspecting the incident. You wholeheartedly expected him to get mad and scold you. At least you hoped, you hoped he's kick you out...but that didn't seem to be the case. Dottore huffed before looking back at you, "I'll get you a spare set of clothes, don't worry about the mess," he nodded. You raised a curious eyebrow. "No, don't. I'm going home," you shoot back, sitting up and pushing past him to stand. You head for the door, grabbing your coat on your way. Weird, he wasn't objecting, but you shrugged it off. You reached the door and took hold of the handle before stopping. Right. The weather had gotten worse upon your arrival. You turn and glance back at the male. Dottore stood comfortably next to the couch, his hand resting against his hip as he watched you, a sly smirk teasing his face. You groan, silently cursing both him and the weather. Of course, he had planned to keep you stuck here through the weather. You set your coat back on the rack, turning and walking back to him.
"Large," you huffed. Dottore nodded, smiling triumphantly as he walked off. You took a seat away from the coffee spill resting your head in your hand. Praying to the Archons that the weather would let up soon. It was unpredictable how long the blizzard would last, but you hoped it wouldn't be long.
-
You'd managed to fall asleep before he had returned, unaware of the stress and exhaustion that had been weighing down on you.
Dottore returned, a set of clothes draped over his forearm. Humming softly before stopping as he spotted you, sleeping comfortably on the couch. The doctor chuckled, setting the clothes on the coffee table before heading to the hall closet, grabbing a dust pan and broom to sweep up the glass before cleaning the coffee to keep it from seeping any deeper into the floor boards.
You were startled awake by the feeling of something cold touching your forearm, you quickly jerked it back, "What in Teyvat are you doing?" You questioned the doctor who had been resting his hand against your arm. "Good, you're awake, I was beginning to think I'd have to change you myself," he smirked. You scowled, "I didn't think you were the type to advance on someone who was asleep."
Dottore hummed curiously, "Oh my~ I'd never do such a thing, dear. Besides, you were sleeping so calmly, I was almost convinced you were deceased."
You roll your eyes at his remark, spotting the clothes before leaning forward, glancing at the floor carefully to avoid glass. Only to realize it was no longer there. You were hardly a heavy sleeper, so how had he managed to not disrupt you while cleaning? You shrug it off, standing up and stretching your arms. "Bathroom?" You asked sharply. Less irritated than before. It appeared getting some sleep managed to alleviate a good chunk of your irritation. Dottore nodded down the hall to a room on the left. You picked up the clothes, taking them with you as you made your way to the room. Flicking the light on and glancing back at Dottore who had vanished into the depths of his abode once again. You closed the door, making sure to lock it before examining the room. It was indeed a bathroom, but, you found it looking rather pristine and polished, almost as if it was brand new. Even the mirror above the sink was cleaner than ever. You were appreciative that he was clean at least. You undressed, slipping off your pants first as they were damp from the coffee. Sighing you grabbed a spare rag, doing a half-assed job of wiping down where the spill had made contact before drying it, all before slipping on the pants he had given you. Luckily, the spill hadn't reached high enough up to stain your boxers.
Black sweatpants? You scoffed before dusting yourself down, at least they fit comfortably. You began to work at your shirt. Pulling it above your head and folding it along with your pants. You catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror, sneering at the scars that littered your torso. Quickly you slipped on the shirt he had handed you. You groaned softly, it was rather tight around your torso, fitting your figure snugly. You scoff before setting your folded pants and shirt to the side for later when you'd leave. It took everything in you to not just hunker up in the bathroom, but you eventually made your way out, flicking the light off before exiting back into the living room where Dottore was reading through a folder.
You carefully watched him, sitting further away and averting your eyes. You didn't want any contact with him. "Well, don't you look comfortable~?" Dottore cooed, you rolled your eyes. "Could you be anymore unprofessional?" You stare off to the side, avoiding eye contact.
"What did you need from me anyways?" You sighed, not only did he pull you from an important meeting, now he was wasting your time. The soft echo of rustling snapping you attention back to him. Your eyes widened a bit as they locked with his piercing, crimson set. Never did he take his mask off. You swallowed harshly as your eyes traveled along the flesh surrounding them, torn and scarred beyond belief. The stressed tissue etching slowly into your mind as you unconsciously finished piecing his appearance together.
"Hm? I just thought that since you looked so comfortable, I might as well too~" He chimed, ignoring your question, but you were too distracted to remember. You fought back the urge to reach out and graze the worn flesh. "Is something wrong? You look rather pale." You're brought back to reality, looking away, "It's nothing." Your curiosity grew unbelievably, what happened to him? It looked like a burn, but was that it? Did it hurt? What did it feel like? You stared off once again. Unaware of the rustling this time. Your attention brought back once again as you were startled to find a cold hand against your wrist. Looking over it appeared The Doctor had closed the distance. Your faces mere inches from each other. You gulp, coiling back a bit as you got a much closer look at him. Your hand stayed tense and balled into a fist as he brought it up, placing it against his cheek. You were alarmed by his action, but nonetheless you uncoiled your hand. Gently, your palm pushed against the warmth of his face, your fingers roaming his scar ever so lightly.
"There's that color I missed so much," he hummed, your eyes leaving his scar, meeting with his sharp ruby eyes. You flinch under his gaze, how could such harsh eyes feel so luring at the same time. "My~ Though it's not your usual hue, you've turned rather pink." You knew he was teasing you, but you bit your tongue. Of course you'd be flustered to have the doctor so close and being so gentle at that. Dottore pushed his face more into your touch, you couldn't help but think of it as cute. Your guard had fallen in contrast to when you had first arrived. Your hand tingled slightly at the warmth. Despite his usual demeanor, seeming so cold and harsh, you could very much feel the warmth radiating from him.
"You must be curious, I presume?"
You nod gently, still keeping yourself from speaking. "I'm happy to answer any of your questions, dear..." You raised a curious eyebrow. Why would he do that? He never talked about himself and even if anyone tried to ask, he'd bite back a distasteful response. You watched as the harbinger's smile seemed to grow, probably in response to your blatantly obvious expression of confusion.  "You see, I've come to grow a bit of soft spot for you..." You focused on his eyes, startled by the way his name rolled past his lips at the end. Never had he ever called you by your name, but you loved the way it sounded coming from him. "....say it again." You finally mumble, earning a bit of the male's surprise in response. Nonetheless, it rolled out simply once again and then again.
You leaned in a bit, wanting to hear it more closely. In response, he leaned closer to your ear, humming your name one last time, his warm breath tickling your ear and sending a shiver down your spine. You could feel your face burning up. "Satisfied?" He hummed softly, moving back before your hand blocked the back of his head, keeping him in place. You couldn't let him see how flustered you'd gotten at the mere mention of your name...or rather the heat building in your pants.
Unfortunately, he wasn't that dumb. Softly chuckling against your ear he muttered, "If you wanted me to chant your name so much...you should've heard me the nights before~" You flinched, what did he mean by that? Was he...
You swallowed harshly, his hair felt unbelievably silky. Unconsciously intertwining your fingers in his light cobalt mane as you sighed a gentle, "Doctor," in return. You had meant it as some sense of karma. You tensed up a bit as you felt his head pull from your hand before finding the warmth of his lips pressing against your neck. You sighed shakily in return as he began to plant kisses along your neck. This is so...unusual. You couldn't handle the heat anymore. You pulled away from him, grasping his hands and bringing them up to your face. The lack of circulation felt pleasant against your overheating face. You needed more. You couldn't help yourself, directing his hand lower before he pulled from your grip. You looked up at him detestably as he denied you relief. "Ah-ah," he grinned. "I want to see you do it yourself."
Your needy look changed to irritation, glaring daggers at him, locking eyes in a competition for dominance. Your facade quivered before falling. So much for that. You swallowed hard, your face heating up as you moved your hands below you, gently rubbing your erection through the cloth. You grinned as an idea flashed across your mind. The doctor wanted a show, so why not give him one?
You moved further from the doctor, slipping off the sweatpants he'd given you, however, you moved painfully slow. Almost teasingly, as you lifted your legs to slide them the rest of the way down. Tossing them to the side before gently snapping the hem of your boxers against yourself, the gentle sensation causing you to sigh heavily. Your erection so obviously making itself apparent.
You pulled your boxers past your hips to your ankles, eventually tossing them to the side along with the pants. You spread your legs, revealing yourself to the doctor before thrusting two of your own finger into your mouth, your tongue working at them, wetting them enough to serve as a sort of lubricant. You smirked subtly as you watched the doctor, who was now leaning back, watching you in a mix of disbelief and lust.
You pulled your fingers from your mouth aligning them with your hole. Your cock twitching in desperation as you gently prodded into yourself. You let out a gasp as you thrusted your fingers in. Your expression tightening in pleasure as you rolled a bit to the side, closing your legs as you began to move them. Prodding against your walls. It wasn't enough, but you wouldn't dare back down. Putting on more of a show, you whined and moaned, gasping out when you almost reached a spot of immense pleasure. Silently, you cursed your short fingers. You looked back to the man before you, keeping your eyes on him as you worked yourself. Your other hand reaching between your thighs, where you took ahold of your hard-on, rubbing the tip gently. The wave of pleasure hitting you from both sides causing you to moan out, your body flinching.
Releasing your grip from your dick, you smiled at the doctor rather naturally, but that was more so due to the situation at hand and how needy you were beginning to feel. "Is something the matter doctor?" You hummed between soft whines, still finger fucking yourself. You noticed he looked rather irritated, glancing down, you could see his dick poking out of his pants. "Oh~? Does this turn you on, dear doctor? You look so eager to fuck me...perhaps you've fantasized about this exact moment? I wouldn't put it past yo- Mpmmmh..." You were cut short as your fingers pressed into your walls more, you had been moving them unconsciously.
You yelped as you felt a set of hands take ahold of your thighs, pulling your legs open and moving you closer. You pulled your hand from your ass as you grinned. "Did I strike a nerv- NGHH...!" You yelped gently as the doctor's hand took place where yours previously was, his fingers were thin and lengthy. Bringing a different kind of pleasure, a type yours never could. You found the doctors spare hand rising up your shirt, caressing your stomach before teasing your nipple. You covered your mouth with your wrist as you avoided eye contact with the doctor. Unconsciously grinding your hips against his fingers, each movement he mad, they seemed to slide deeper and deeper.
You gasped out as his finger's hit against your most sensitive spot, your hands immediately flying to the doctor's shirt. "Fuck..." You wanted more, more of him, more of this sensation, you wanted to calm the heat rising due to your erection. Your hands slid from his shirt, immediately working on unbuttoning his pants, pulling them and his boxers low enough to where his cock sprung out. It had a good size to it. You heard the doctor chuckle, bringing your attention back to him, his eyes seemed to shine even more than before. You knew well enough how dangerous this man was, that you should've just ran before this happened, but you couldn't go back now. Might as well get the most out of it.
"Fuck me, Dottore. ...Fuck me mercilessly," You whined. The doctor's confident and more relaxed demeanor seemed to falter at the mention of his name. You could read his eyes as his lust grew more animalistic. "And that I'll do..." his voice had dropped an octave, it was laced with seduction and lust and the mere sound of it made you shiver. You were in for it now.
Your pleasured expression grew solid at the sudden absence of his fingers, glaring daggers at him, "Ah, were you enjoying it that much?" He chuckled as he presented his fingers. You grew a bit red in embarrassment. "Do you want me to snap your dick off?" You paused, catching glimpse of his own erection, "Pfft, looks like I won't even have to do anything, it looks like your about to explode without me," You tease, your hand gripping his thick cock at the base. Your hand sliding up and down his length ever so slowly, pre-cum slicking your hand. The doctor let out a few sighs as he shivered at your touch. "I do hope you don't expect me to go as slow as your pumping me..."
You shivered at the thought of him treating you like a fucktoy. You smirked, "I very much agree, I'd be quite disappointed if you had pulled me all the way out here in the middle of my meeting just to waste my time," you scoffed. You had patience, but this man seemed to wear it down quite easily.
You perked up as the doctor let out a low chuckle, "And you're not even the slightest bit scared?" His words were laced with a hint of something similar to warning. It made you think, "Not at all, sex is sex, whether it be with a deranged man like you or not," you grinned.
It was true, sex was in fact sex, it would be the same as any other. If it got the job done, that's all that mattered. Besides, you didn't have much time for such a thing.
The heat in your abdomen grew more as you removed your hand from the harbinger's pulsing cock, the doctor didn't hesitate to push your legs open, aligning himself with ease before thrusting into your hole. You gasped out biting your hand to keep yourself from moaning.
He was in fact big, you could tell that much from the look alone, but to feel the way it pushed against your inner walls, filling you up was exciting. It was as if you could feel the blood rushing through your veins quicker than before thanks to the sudden adrenaline boost.
"Uncover your mouth."
You looked up to see the doctor staring down at you, his eyes fueled with desire making you shiver under his harsh gaze. Unconsciously moving your hand. You watched as the doctor grinned triumphantly. As if he had finally tamed you.
You yelped a bit as he flipped you onto your side, closing your legs before delivering harsh thrusts to the sweet spot he had found just moments earlier. "F-fuck- wait-!" You mewled, your eyes tearing from the feeling of his dick stirring your insides, every thrust driving the tip deeper and deeper into you and hitting your sweet spot perfectly.
With each repeated thrust you could feel the heat build up more, had you ever cum this fast? Your mind was jumbled. The doctor seemed to be enjoying this himself, his eyes watching you carefully as you unfold beneath him, becoming more and more determined to watch you lose your mind over him.
It was clear this wasn't his first time thinking about this, leaving your mind space to wander about his previous statement; What exactly did he think, what was he doing, when was he doing it? How long has he wanted this?
Your moans and yelps grew louder with each thrust, gripping onto the cushion beneath you for purchase. Each of your thoughts flashing as the direct abuse to your sweet spot filled you with ecstasy. You couldn't think. It was becoming more and more unbearable, "Wa-it!" Your voice came out broken and drawn out with pleasure.
Suddenly everything rushed back to you, your heart dropping as the doctor abruptly stopped, you were already so exhausted, was he done already? You didn't get the relief you craved.
Suddenly you felt the doctor drive himself into you once again, he was teasing you. You grit your teeth in irritation. You knew exactly what it was that he wanted, but you wouldn't give it to him. At least you hoped.
Each teasing thrust made you come more and more undone. It was unbearable. "Fuck!" You growled, using spent energy to grab the collar off his shirt and pull him close, popping a button off in the process. "Fuck me, Dottore, let me cum," you demanded.
"Nicely, Dear~"
You sighed, you didn't have time for this, everything already felt so out of order. "Please, please just fuck me! I want to cum, please let me fucking cum!" You whined out.
"There it is...that's a good boy~"
The praise sent a shiver down your spine, or maybe it was just the low coo he delivered with it.
Dottore forced your back against the couch, "Wait- not like-!" You were cut off as he started again, thrusting impossibly faster than before, leaving you to wrap your arms around his back for grounding.
You could hear a sly chuckle as you dug your nails into his back, the cloth bunching uncomfortably at your nails. You found yourself burying your face into his neck, concealing your moans and whines. Had he lowered himself just for this? Whatever, you couldn't care.
"Fuck- I'm gonna cum-!" You whined. The cord in your abdomen seemed to tighten unbearably so. You drove a bite into his shoulder, your teeth piercing the cloth to conceal your lewd calls as the cord snapped at once, ecstasy rushing through you.
When your high eased, you relaxed back onto the cushions, tears stained your cheeks and your eyes threatened to close from exhaustion. A familiar icy hand caressed your cheek, wiping away the trail.
You exchanged no words with him, you were much too tired, but it occurred to you he hadn't cum yet. Whatever he did, you were much too spent to fight. You fully expected him to continue, to pound you into the seat and take his fill. So it surprised you when his weight pulled from you.
Your eyes watched him carefully as he dismissed himself into the bathroom. Probably to go and finish what you didn't.
Naturally you would feel disgusted by the sweat and sex that stained your body, but you couldn't stay awake any longer. Your eyes closing carefully with the aid of the bathroom faucet running.
-
You shuffled around. The sheets below you felt crisp and fresh, everything coming back to you at once, you groaned lightly as your eyes opened, had you been asleep the entire night? You sat up looking around the unfamiliar room. That's right.
You didn't feel gross and sticky, did he clean you? He moved you to the bed? How did he manage to do that while you were asleep? Nonetheless you felt appreciative that he wouldn't just leave you to lay in filth.
Carefully you stood up, balancing yourself against the wall for leverage, of course your legs were exhausted due to the overexertion. Your face flushed as you recalled how you grabbed onto him the night before.
Anxiously you left the room, feeling your way down the corridor, a rustling sound came from the kitchen. It was early, too early for the doctor to still be here.
You stepped into the kitchen, your eyes meeting with the familiarity of the doctors back, or at least, one of his clones.
"How annoying..." you mumbled, turning to leave at once before the clone noticed you, but you were too late.
"Goodmorning."
The familiar ring of the doctors voice hummed eerily in your ear, it was almost spot on. Almost.
"Would you like breakfast?" The clone cooed. "No." You made your way back to the living room.
"Are you sure?"
"Quit following me."
"You should eat."
"Fuck off already!"
"Please rest, master will be back soon."
You cringed at the title, how egotistical. "No, if he wants to see me tell him to wait in line, or just request me since he seems to do that however he pleases anyways." It was annoying how the doctor left one of his pests to take care of you. You could handle yourself and if anything, it would've at least meant more if he cared to do so himself.
You slipped on your boots and made your way for the bathroom, grabbing the clothes you had left before stepping back out. You grabbed your coat and threw it over your shoulders. "Goodbye," you said harshly, slipping out of the door. The last thing you heard before shutting it was the soft hum of the false doctor's voice.
"Dickhead..."

50 OC Questions
These are questions are from @localravenclaw ‘s post. Thanks so much for reading; I would love to read about other MCs!🪻
1. Describe your OC's physical appearance in detail.
She is both Latina (on her father’s side, he was from South America) and British (on her mother’s side). She has long black hair that is usually in a French braid and draped over her shoulder. It’s very wavy when out of the braid. She has lilac color eyes, honestly I haven’t decided from which parent she got them from. She has tan skin and a tiny freckle high on her left cheek, just below her eye. She is petite and has a hourglass figure. She does have a few light scars on her back. The caretaker at the orphanage would verbally and physically “discipline” the children. Raven would try to step in so none of the littler kids would be hurt. She is self conscious about anyone seeing them.
2. Why'd you choose your OC's name?
For most RPGs, my character is always named “Raven”, so for HL it wasn’t any different lol. For her last name, honestly, it was an inside joke. I love the 70s show Fawlty Towers, with John Cleese. It only ran for about a dozen episodes but it’s hilarious. It was the first last name I could think of😄
3. How does your OC feel about their birthday?
Her birthday is Jan. 29, 1874, and she only cares about to a bit because her favorite poem, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe, was first published on that day in 1845. She only starts to care more when Sebastian gives her a birthday gift in their sixth year, which are tiny gold snake earrings. It was her first ever birthday gift ever. (Side note: my birthday is also Jan. 29. I tried to think of another day but making her an Aquarius too just felt right ♒️)
4. How does your OC and their parents get along?
Unfortunately, Raven doesn’t know who her family is. She lived at the orphanage as long as she can remember. She won’t go looking for them, as she figures they would’ve already have come back for her at some point. In my story for her, the caretaker gave her the last name “Fawlty”, (and yes misspelling it on purpose) as another way to torment her. Though she keeps the name to prove to others that she isn’t “faulty”.
5. What's something you'd never put your OC through again?
Being alone. She has too many people around her that genuinely cares. Especially with having Sebastian in her life, she will never be alone again.
6. What's your OC's go-to comfort meal?
Breakfast foods. All kinds, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, and toast. There’s just something about a nice breakfast that makes Raven feel warm and cozy. It’s the simple things in life🍳
7. What career path would your OC take?
Though she feels it’s expected for her to be an Auror, Curse Breaker or working for the Ministry. Ultimately she has a love for music, specifically singing. She does try out for the choir at Hogwarts. The only person who knew was Poppy and she gave Raven the courage needed to try out their sixth year (now that she wasn’t in the middle of stopping a goblin rebellion!). She also knows how to play the piano too, and taught herself to play, however, she doesn’t know how to read sheets of music. 🎼
8. What's something your OC can't do?
Can’t say no to someone who needs help. Since no one was really there for her growing up at the orphanage, she believes that no one should feel helpless no matter the size of the problem. If she can help, she will!
9. What is your OC's ideal romantic partner?
Someone who will stand by her side and love her no matter what. They make her feel like she does belong and won’t be judged. They believe in her and encourage her to do what makes her happy.
10. Does your OC like to spend time alone or with others more?
Honestly, Raven can go either way. She loves spending time with her friends, especially Sebastian, and does prefer her close circle of friends. Though she is content with taking time for herself by either reading a good book, or practicing her music in the Room of Requirement.
11. What time does your OC usually go to sleep?
Depends really, school nights she’ll try to go to sleep at a decent time, if there isn’t too much homework. On weekends or summertime she’ll stay up late with Sebastian or hanging out with other friends.
12. Where in the sibling order is your OC?
Unknown, as far as she’s aware she is an only child.
13. What's the worst thing your OC's ever done?
Harming the orphanage caretaker. The caretaker was “disciplining” one of the smaller children and accusing them of stealing something from her room. Raven had just about enough of it with her and wished a bookshelf to fly across the room and slam into her. Everything had happened so fast and it took a moment for her to realize that’s exactly what happened. All the other children had looked at her with wide eyes and she quickly grabbed what few possessions she had and ran away. That was a few days before Professor Fig had come to the orphanage to gift Raven her Hogwarts letter. He was able to find her hiding out at a near by in a couple days later.
14. What would it take for your OC to kill someone?
By them hurting someone she loved/cared very dearly about.
15. What item does your OC hold most dear?
A copper cameo brooch given by Sebastian. It was a Christmas present, and was surrounded by little pearls and had the Ancient Magic symbol engraved in the center. She has worn it everyday since.
16. How does your OC unwind?
Practicing her singing and playing piano. She does want to learn how to read sheet music, but ends up just playing from the heart. Of course reading! Broom flying as well, as she finds it therapeutic. Even just relaxing with Sebastian in the Room of Requirement or Undercroft.
17. What's your OC's star sign?
Aquarius! Aquarians are intellectual, curious and can be deeply social. They are represented by the Star card in the tarot. They are determined to make a powerful difference in the world. ♒️
18. What kind of drunk is your OC?
She doesn’t normally drink, but she would be very chatty and giggly.
19. Who does your OC end up with?
Sebastian Sallow. He is her whole world and everything comes naturally with him. Her day doesn’t feel complete until she’s shared it with him. With him she feels anywhere they go, she’ll always be home.
20. Who is your OC's role model?
Professor Fig. He was her first father figure and the first to believe and guide her through such a challenging time. Not only with simply learning how to be a proper witch, but helping her learn about Ancient Magic and taking on a goblin rebellion.
21. Is your OC big on revenge?
Not necessarily. If she can, Raven will tell said person how she feels right then. If it’s minor she won’t go out of her way to get back at them. If it’s critical then she will do what it takes to get back at them.
22. If your OC ever got the chance, would they go back in time? When would they go?
Ultimately no she wouldn’t go back. Through her hardships growing up she believes it made her the woman she is. Though if she could go back, it would be to try and save both Lodgok and Professor Fig.
23. What's your OC's favourite memory?
Getting her Hogwarts letter would be one. She always felt there was something more to her life but didn’t fully understand what. The picnic her and Sebastian went on the summer before their sixth year. They had finally confessed their feelings for each other and had their first kiss.
24. Will your OC ever admit to being wrong?
Always! No one wants to admit they’re wrong but Raven knows it’s the right thing to do. She feels it’s better to put her feelings aside and admit when something is her fault and go from there. Except with Imelda, because she finds it funny to get her all riled up over nothing, especially when it comes to quidditch.
25. Is your OC doomed by the narrative?
Possibly. Not sure where the next game is going to go. All these little things I wrote about Raven is for me only and I fully look forward to see what will happen in the sequel!
26. Would your OC get along with you?
I would think so!☺️
27. What's one thing your OC will never get over?
Her fear of being alone and losing everyone she loves. She went from having no one to having a family in such a short time. To have that all taken away would be heart breaking.
28. Is your OC going to make it?
I’d like to think so. She’s been through so much but each time becomes stronger from it. Plus it helps to have the love of her life by her side. Sebastian gives her that extra boost of strength she didn’t know she needed.
29. Does your OC look their age?
Yes!✨
30. What weird pet would your OC have?
She has a pet Flying Fox Bat named Agnes since her seventh year. They can have a five foot wing span, and she’s basically as long as Raven is tall. So it took a bit for Sebastian to come around with her keeping Agnes. But Agnes is a bit sweetheart and loves being part of the family. Mini story of Agnes was she was living in captivity at the London Zoo and escaped one day. Making her way to the Forbidden Forest, Raven found her alone while taking a hike late one evening. They had an immediate connection and she’s taken care of her ever since. 🦇
31. Does your OC care a lot about their appearance?
Yes and no. Personal hygiene of course. Brushing a braiding her hair, definitely. If it’s a regular day then she does not mind wearing a casual outfit. Going out on a date with Sebastian, then she’ll put on a little makeup and get dolled up more because… why not?💄
32. What's one food your OC can't stand?
French Onion Soup. It was what was mostly served at the orphanage. Yuck!
33. What animal do people associate your OC with?
Probably the same as her Patronus, which is a black bear. That animal is known for their adaptability and resourcefulness. Others will see her as a fierce opponent who will protect herself and those close to her. Only those close to her will know of that softer side she usually keeps hidden away.
34. What's your OC's "thing"?
Depends on what the “thing” refers to… 😅🤔 if it’s behavioral then it’s fiddling with her braid when she’s nervous and can’t figure out what to say, thus being an awkward mess. If it’s material then probably her cameo brooch. If it’s physical then her lilac eyes of course!
35. Random fact about your OC
Despite being Latina, she doesn’t speak Spanish. Because Raven doesn’t know where part of her heritage comes from she never learned.
36. Would your OC sleep with a clone of themself?
…no…🫣
37. What part of yourself do you love in your OC?
Her loyalty to her the people she loves/cares about the most.
38. What's the lowest point in your OC's life?
After being “disciplined” crying herself to sleep and feeling so alone. Wishing and dreaming of a better tomorrow.
39. What's your OC's biggest achievement?
Finding a family. She believes family isn’t about blood, but finding people who will always be there no matter what and accept you for who you are.
40. Does your OC ever go back home?
She considered her “home” to be wherever Sebastian is. The orphanage was never her home.
41. How would your OC adapt to the modern world?
Since she loves music so much I think so. There’s so much emotion to express through music. With that I think she can adapt pretty quickly.
42. Does your OC have any unique talents?
As stated, she sings and plays piano. 🎤🎹 Though it takes a long time to finally share that passion with others.
43. Does your OC exist in canon or AU timeline?
Canon, I think.
44. Is your OC a people person?
Only with those in her inner circle. She will be cordial to others, unless they’re rude to her and then they won’t be worth her time anymore.
45. Did your OC ever have an alternative name?
Whatever her birth name was, but she’ll never know.
46. Does your OC possess any special powers?
Just being able to wield Ancient Magic.✨
47. Is your OC allergic to anything?
Just to people who are rude and mean to others for no reason.
48. Does your OC have a lot of uncommon knowledge? How do they know it?
I guess knowing able everyday muggle things that would seem weird to other people only growing up in the wizarding world.
49. Does your OC have any scars or birthmarks with an interesting story?
She has some scares from being “disciplined”, thankfully she can cover them with everyday clothes.
50. What do you love and hate most about your OC?
I hate that she isn’t real and that the wizarding world isn’t real😆 Otherwise no, I don’t nor can I hate Raven. I love her courage and kindness. That she’ll fight no matter hard things may seem, and always get back up after falling down. She’s had to overcome so much and was alone for so long but now she has a family.🪻💜

I’m finally back from shadowban, but did not return empty-handed and brought you some kind of "review" of a historical novel I’ve just read because it was such fun that I can’t help but share it with some educated people and because I love nagging about historical inaccuracies.
Tumblr media
🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨
The rest you will find under the cut
The book I’m talking about is Cinq-Mars by de Vigny. This novel was published in 1826 and is centred around the conspiracy of Louis XIII’s last favourite, Marquis de Cinq-Mars, against Cardinal de Richelieu. Cinq-Mars was the first important historical fiction in French and derived much of its popularity at the time from the enormous vogue of the novels of Walter Scott. After 1831, when Victor Hugo's Notre Dame de Paris was published, Vigny was pushed back from the first positions, and his Cinq-Mars was forgotten. At the same time, critics of subsequent eras state that from a purely literary point of view, Cinq-Mars is a much better work than Hugo's novel.
Since Henri d’Effiat is a main character, Vigny portrays him as a hero, a noble man surrounded by scoundrels and therefore doomed. Louis and Richelieu, on the contrary, are negative characters. If you want to get a better understanding of Vigny’s attitude towards them, take Dumas’ interpretation and multiply it, let’s say, by three — after that you will have a proper comprehension of their portrayal. I can’t resist providing one quotation, though: "the tyrant Richelieu, who does not cease to humiliate good old nobility and the parliaments, and to sap the foundations of the edifice upon which the State reposes".
But the biggest meme of this book is Father Joseph. Surprised? Me too. First, his character is so far from reality that it made me want to cry. I happened to read Huxley’s Grey Eminence right before this novel, so the contrast was…prominent. I was ready for many things, but not for Joseph eager to betray and poison Richelieu for a red biretta. Besides, the author does not describe him in a very pleasant way: "The monk looked upon the ground with the stupid eye of some base animal". Second, historical François Leclerc du Tremblay died in December 1638, before the events described in the book began. Lower the curtain.
Since I have already started talking about historical inaccuracies, I will continue with this topic. For some reason, Vigny likes to introduce characters who should be languishing in the Bastille or other prison at that time. The story begins in the summer of 1639 in the chateau of Cinq-Mars’ family. At the farewell dinner on the occasion of Cinq-Mars’ send-off — he is heading to Perpignan (which is under siege) to be introduced to the King — Marshal de Bassompierre is present. Real Bassompierre, however, was arrested back in February 1631, shortly after the "Day of the Dupes", and definitely wouldn’t have been able to participate in the occasion. But his arrest still takes place at the end of the first chapter. Besides, Marshal de Vitry and Duc de Puylaurens, who also appear in the novel, should have been incarcerated by then as well: Vitry was imprisoned in 1637, and Puylaurens — in 1635. The latter, by the way, died in Vincennes the same year, so his presence in the story becomes even more strange…
According to Cinq-Mars, many interesting things happened in 1639; so many that in reality it took circa 10 years. I have already mentioned Bassompierre’s arrest (1631) and the siege of Perpignan, which actually took place in 1641-1642, but this is only a small part. On his way to the King’s camp, Cinq-Mars passes through Loudun, where, surprisingly (or, perhaps, unsurprisingly?), the case of Urbain Grandier is in full swing. I’m not an expert in this particular field and cannot fully judge the accuracy of the events described (yet), but some details are historically correct, and some are definitely not. The most eye-catching is the fact that all this tremendous commotion actually began in 1632 and ended in 1634, not 1639. In a while, after Henri’s arrival to Perpignan, it turns out that Marie de Medici has already died. She was too hasty with this, I must say — it should have happened three years later, in July 1642. There are many many more minor inaccuracies, such as someone saying that the Long Parliament in England is still sitting when its session hasn’t even begun or Louis asking Richelieu why he hates Marie de Medici so much, as if it wasn’t Louis himself who sent her into exile for her constant intrigues. Or the premiere of Mirame, which takes place after the execution of Cinq-Mars, in September 1642, although in fact it was January 1641. Such an abundance of events in such a short time makes me think about how boring my life is.
Speaking of time, its passage in the book is very unique. The first chapter begins in 1639, and the fourteenth chapter with line "we will at once pass over the space of two hundred leagues and the period of two years" suddenly brings us to December 4, 1642. Math? No, never heard about it. What’s more, it is actually the date of Richelieu’s death, but the conspiracy against him hasn’t started yet. Then, the twenty-fifth chapter featuring execution of Cinq-Mars and de Thou begins with words "In the middle of a night of the month of September", but in the original french version the same line sounds like "Au milieu d’une nuit du mois de septembre 1642". One could chalk such strangeness up to misprint and claim that the 4th of December 1642 must be 4th of December 1641 — in that case everything makes sense. However, de Vigny points to December 1642 several times.
What I like most about this book is a list of King’s duties dictated by Richelieu, which, according to the author, has come down to us:
Tumblr media
Lovely, isn’t it? The eighth one is definitely my favourite. Frankly speaking, I’d like to be in prime minister’s shoes myself…
Lastly, I would like to mark an amusing detail. In twenty-fourth chapter de Vigny makes an allusion to a famous phrase about six lines ("If you give me six lines written by the hand of the most honest of men, I will find something in them which will hang him"), which is frequently attributed to Richelieu. In Cinq-Mars, though, he says, "For four lines in a man’s handwriting he might be criminally tried".
In any case, this piece of literature is good in its genre and worth reading. If you’re not so familiar with the historical part, you won’t grumble about every single incorrect detail in the conspiracy and will even be able to enjoy the story… But still remember: Cinq-Mars was a bi—

CREEPY Steve
2024 is the 50th anniversary of Stephen King’s first published novel, CARRIE. The story of a bullied telekinetic teen, who gets blood-soaked payback at her prom. Since then, he's written 65 novels, 200 short stories, and 5 nonfiction books. A freakish feat, almost worthy of one of his supernatural characters.
Tumblr media
King’s first published story was when he was 19 years old. He continued selling short stories after graduating from the University of Maine, and while teaching English at a public high school, all later collected in NIGHT SHIFT. He's averaged more than a book a year since 1974. Many of his novels were initially released under a pseudonym, lest their sheer number dilute his ‘brand’. I became aware of King via the early movie adaptations of his books. CARRIE, THE SHINING, and THE DEAD ZONE. A great introduction, as those early films were all good, whereas most adaptations of his work are terrible, sadly.
During one of the Halloweens in the covid era, Julia & I got into a CREEPY STEVE frame of mind. Watching the better film adaptations, and listening to audiobooks. Those narrated by Will Patton were faves, as he really brings the characters to life. The Bill Hodges trilogy - Mr MERCEDES, FINDERS KEEPERS and END OF WATCH - were all marvellous, and introduced the wonderful character Holly Gibney. Who then appeared in further stories of her own.
There are 10 Stephen King short story collections, and all that I’ve read contain several gems. JUST AFTER SUNSET has the terrifying (yet somehow hilarious) tale of a man trapped and left for dead in a capsized porta-potty. DIFFERENT SEASONS contains the stories that inspired THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and STAND BY ME. Donald Sutherland starred in a great film entitled Mr HARRIGAN’S PHONE, taken from IF IT BLEEDS. Which also contains another great Holly Gibney story.
ON WRITING: A MEMOIR OF THE CRAFT, is an engaging book, narrated by the author himself. Part memoir and part how-to instructional. Reminding me of William Goldman’s ADVENTURES IN THE SCREEN TRADE, in that it can’t truly deliver the secrets to making the magic that it promises, but serves up entertaining & revealing autobiographical anecdotes instead.
We are now used to seeing vampires in contemporary settings, so some of the 1970s impact of SALEM’S LOT has been lost. But both the book and its movie adaptation have many indelible images. Such as a vampire child hovering at the window.. (an inspiration for John Ajvide Lindqvist perhaps?)
After listening to book after book of King’s, and loving their brilliantly observed characters, and wonderful dialog, DARK TOWER was conspicuous for not having the elements that are normally intriguing in his books. Maybe I’ll give this series another shot someday, as friends swear it gets better.
We read THE SHINING and its sequel, DOCTOR SLEEP, watching & enjoying both movie adaptations. King apparently despises Kubrick’s version of THE SHINING - "The book is hot, and the movie is cold; the book ends in fire, and the movie in ice. In the book, there's an actual arc where you see this guy, Jack Torrance, trying to be good, and little by little he moves over to this place where he's crazy. And as far as I was concerned, when I saw the movie, Jack was crazy from the first scene.”
After reading the book, I understand King’s critiques, and agree with his second point. Jack Nicholson seems already about detonate on his drive to the hotel. Whereas King’s Jack was driven to madness by the malignant spirits within it. However, Kubrick’s film is so indelibly stamped into my mind, that I cannot unsee it. Nor unlike it neither (sorry, Stephen).
“Plot is, I think, the good writer’s last resort and the dullard’s first choice. The story which results from it is apt to feel artificial and labored.” - Stephen King.
I work in storytelling too, but in my biz it’s the dullard’s choice all the way - everything plotted & discussed, ad infinitum. King apparently starts with the merest idea, then writes straight ahead, surprising himself as he goes. A magician pulling a string of goodies out of his own head. At his best, this approach produces stories that feel naturalistic, with surprising twists and turns.
At his worst, it can be rambling, meandering and self indulgent. Especially when he struggled with addiction. Apparently, King was so out of control in the late 1980s, that he was confronted by an intervention after finishing the TOMMYKNOCKERS manuscript. A pity then that the editor wasn’t given more latitude in tidying up that waffling mess before it went to print..
Stephen himself agrees - “I mean, The Tommyknockers is an awful book. That was the last one I wrote before I cleaned up my act. And I’ve thought about it a lot lately and said to myself, “There’s really a good book in here, underneath all the sort of spurious energy that cocaine provides, and I ought to go back.” The book is about 700 pages long, and I’m thinking, “There’s probably a good 350-page novel in there.”
We enjoyed the screen adaptations of IT, CHRISTINE, 1922, THE MIST, and 11.22.63. After soaking in worlds King has created, on page & screen, it became clear that the recent NETFLIX hit, STRANGER THINGS, is merely glorified Stephen King fan fiction. By the end of the pandemic, we’d chewed through many stories, yet only a mere fraction of The King Catalog.
King is thought of as a master of the paranormal, but his real genius is for the everyday. Some of my favourites King stories are his straight crime fiction, or stories about real life. Even his famous horror stories are grounded by settings in relatable blue collar situations.. The writer Peter Straub even compared King to Dickens: “Both are novelists of vast popularity and enormous bibliographies, both are beloved writers with a pronounced taste for the morbid and grotesque, both display a deep interest in the underclass."
How does a man who’s been a millionaire for decades, with a very recognisable face, keep an ear for dialog patterns of common folk? Does he wear a disguise, and lurk in truck stops, diners, dive bars, and greyhound bus stations, taking notes?
“He's one of the first people to talk about real Americans and how they live, to capture real American dialogue in all its, like, foulmouthed grandeur... He has a deadly ear for the way people speak... …Surface-wise, King's work is a bit televisual, but there's really a lot going on." - David Foster Wallace
Lately, we’ve embarked on yet another quest to chip away at the KING oeuvre. Having already fallen in love with Bill Hodges & Holly Gibney, it was fun to watch the Mr MERCEDES TV series. Even though the filmmakers took liberties with the characterisations. Rather than the shy, smoking, middle aged, OCD woman of the novels, the TV Holly is a perky & cute 30 something. An autistic variation on the manic pixie dream girl trope. (sigh..)
Taken from a short story collection entitled EVERYTHING’S EVENTUAL, the gripping movie 1408, starring John Cusack & Samuel L. Jackson, is the creepy story of a skeptical paranormal investigator, whose cynicism is challenged by spending a harrowing night in an actual haunted hotel room.
In THINNER a selfish fat lawyer is cursed into anorexia by a gypsy. Entertaining, in 'the guy deserves everything he gets' manner of a parable from the Twighlight Zone. It seems to have inspired Sam Raimi's DRAG ME TO HELL.
GERALD’S GAME seemed like a story written on a bet, or an author’s exercise - “write a novel where the protagonist never leaves their bed for most of the story.” To me it felt like it might have worked better as a short story. When King fails (for me, anyway) it's when there hasn't been enough editing.
King has apparently said that PET SEMATARY was his book that scared him the most, and it is extremely creepy, but for me, MISERY was even more terrifying. I'd already seen the film, and Kathy Bates’ Oscar winning performance, but the book is even scarier somehow. There’s nothing paranormal about this story. There is utter horror, but it is the worst kind that there is - the twists & turns of the human mind.
Despite, or perhaps because of, King’s great popularity, literary critics long damned him with faint praise. In 2003, when he received the National Book Foundation’s ‘Medal of Distinguished Contribution to American Letters’, some became openly hostile:
"The decision to give the National Book Foundation's annual award for "distinguished contribution" to Stephen King is extraordinary, another low in the shocking process of dumbing down our cultural life… ..What he is is an immensely inadequate writer on a sentence-by-sentence, paragraph-by-paragraph, book-by-book basis." - Harold Bloom
Bloom is dead, so King gets the last word - “A lot of today's reviewers grew up reading my fiction. Most of the old critics who panned anything I wrote are either dead or retired".
In 1999, Stephen King was flattened by a vehicle while walking along a highway - "After the accident, I was totally incapable of writing. At first it was as if I'd never done this in my life. ...It was like starting over again from square one." As someone who was been flattened too (but in a very different way) one of the many inspiring things about King is how he recovered from that terrible accident, to do some of his very best work.
CREEPY STEVE is a one-man multimedia idea engine, keeping the publishing & Hollywood machines running. We are still enjoying poring through the King library (listening to THE INSTITUTE now) so if any of you have further recommendations, please let me know in the comments!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
A bunch of writers that I follow have already been tagged and responded @helloliriels @khorazir @7-percent @discordantwords @totallysilvergirl to name just a few. Now I have a few new things to read that I somehow missed the first time around as well as a bunch of old favorites to go and re-read. So much good fic is out there by so many talented writers!
In the spirit of adding to folk’s ever growing MFL list I’ll just pile onto the bandwagon with my answers as well.
 1.  How many works to you have on AO3?
56 although there are several collections of snippets that technically could be counted separately. On AO3 I'm KtwoNtwo.
2.  What’s your total AO3 word count?
496,860
3.  What fandoms do you write for?
Primarily Sherlock Holmes (most all iterations from ACD to Sherlock) and James Bond.  However, I dabble in a good number of other fandoms upon occasion.
4.  What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Metamorphosis
Conversations from Q-Branch
50 Reasons (The Q-Branch Edition)
A Rare Breed
Brothers Three
5.  Do you respond to comments?
Yes, even if its just a “I’m glad you liked it.”  The only ones I don’t respond to are the generic solicitations to join some random contest or fic publishing website.  Those get blocked and reported.
6.  What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Well, I don’t really write major angst but The Four Riders has got a bit as does the poem Gun in the Drawer though they both end on a hopeful note.
7.  What’s the Fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics have happy endings but probably A Toast to the Science of Deduction resolves the happiest of the lot.
8.  Do you get hate on fics.
Nope.  Only got one anonymous troll alleging trademark infringement due to a title.  I fired back a factual rebuttal: basically "there is no book by that name by that author, there is no lawyer by that name, you didn’t provide contact information and btw trademark doesn’t work the way you allege" then added a set of quotation marks to the title.  Never heard anything more about it.
9.  Do you write smut?
I have but I’m not terribly good at it.  Most of the time the characters look at me then politely, or not so politely, shut the bedroom door in my face.
10.  Do you write crossovers?
Oh God Yes!  Technically I think I write fusions, where both fandoms end up in the same universe, as opposed to crossovers but I’m rather unclear on the difference between same so I tend to just call 'em crossovers and leave it at that.
11.  Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I could find or prove.  I did have a couple of strange search results pop up with my use name and some fic titles attached but the websites all seem to be defunct now.
12.  Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge.
13.  Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No.
14.  What’s your favorite ship?
Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
15.  What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
There’s a fic based on a song by Abney Park that I’ve got an outline for but it never seems to go anywhere.
16.  What are your writing strengths?
I can merge and/or crossover all sorts of different fandoms.
17.  What are your writing weaknesses?
Typos and punctuation.  Being slightly dyslexic I can’t spot the former and I never know if I’m using commas correctly or not.
18.  Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I actively avoid doing so because I’d butcher it badly.
19.  First fandom you wrote for?
Emperor’s Edge by Lindsay Buroker.  I will admit that I wrote in my head, but never got around to put on paper, a number of Star Trek stories when I was significantly younger.
20.  Favorite fic you’ve ever written?
I like all of them for different reasons.  The one I’m most proud of however is The Emerald Falls my Study in Emerald inspired ACD Fic.
I'd love to have some of the artists/podcasters respond to this with whatever modifications are necessary to fit the medium involved. Hours of podcast or number of artworks as opposed to number of words for example. @podfixx @bluebellofbakerstreet if you haven't responded to this thing already and I just missed it.

Okay- for over a decade now, I've thought about publishing a comic book series or graphic novel, but have never found the time, energy, or resources to get one off the ground. I've also been really nervous about exposing my writing despite coming up with multiple storylines in my life. I am planning to start a Kickstarter or something for at least one of them. I know I've pitched creative projects or theories before and haven't gone through with them, but I want to at least see what of things I have developed or began development on interests' people before I start anything.
So... I am going to start a poll. Maybe I'll make one free short comic before I dedicate myself to something that requires funding.
Descriptions below:
These Hands- A first person perspective from former Diamond Cutter infiltrator and later cause of their demise- Mimic the Octopus. See from when he first joined the Diamond Cutters and follow into his fall from grace. Will his plights be sympathetic or shall he be forever scorned by himself and his actions?
A full storyboard draft has already been created for a one-shot story. If chosen, it may take between a couple weeks to over a month to release (depending on my college schedule)
Henchmen for Hire- A cowardly magician with the power of luck on her side (and her Eldrich terrain shifter best friend) are stuck in their jobs as Henches for Hire for random Elites and criminals of their world, escapading on dangerous quests through ancient caves to find mysterious power sources and ancient treasures. While life is fairly comfortable (despite them having to live in a cave themselves because how can you live in a nice place when you're stuck in such a shady business?), the past is catching up to them, and one of them has a knife. Can these two ever live without the fear of being alone and helpless when nothing but danger plagues their lives?
This series is one of the ones I am currently working on and its still very early in development. It may take a couple months, maybe even a year to complete. There are maybe 3 stories and 5 or 6 plot points planned out. But I'm having a lot of fun with it and do hope to make something off it some day.
Experimental Living- A mad geneticist and engineer finally returns home from his stay in prison and is ready to wreak havoc on the world with his new genetic experiments. However, things do not go as planned and in order to keep his cover as a "reformed" villain, he must raise them as if they were his children, which the 10-year-old and 6-year-old are more than happy with. With help from his Henchmen, constant harassment from his mystic and militant father, and suspecting eyes of heroes and citizens, will this evil villain turned single dad ever succeed in his violent plans to save the world?
I storyboarded almost the entire series and a sequel series for this for almost a full year. There are still many parts that need to be tweaked or rewritten as there are gaps and maybe some problematic elements, but this could be something that could get started sometime in the Summer. I want to be able to fund it, but I don't have the elements to do so at the moment and I'm afraid the premise is a bit too close to the idea of a Starline, Surge, and Kit AU. Though it is more loosely inspired by them with a lot more to it than that, I don't know if I might run into some copyright issues if I go through with it, no matter how loosely the characters or premise are to their inspirations.
Journey of Eclipse- The Light had fended off the Darkness for hundreds of years, constantly sealing it in a cave to protect the world from his curse. Now, a child born from the Light and conceived by the Darkness must tread on a perilous journey to save his mother from the curse that now finally firmed its grasp on her. But this story is not so black and white, and the circumstances that lead to the birth of such a child may have a much more deep-rooted tale than what has been told.
I had this idea back in High School and recently revisited it. I would imagine that it would be a rather short series or graphic novel, but may need a few months to fully get a good narrative out of it. There is a clear beginning, middle, and end, but much more needs to be fleshed out and reconfigured to tell a well thought out tale.
Angel Story- A long time ago, super soldiers known as "angels" were created to protect villages from strange dark entities referred to as "demons" or "shadows". With the dark entities seemingly vanished, the angels and their children were now declared to be the protectors against criminals and symbols of order. However, new chaos arises as these angels are seemingly vanishing, or getting corrupted by a similar energy to that of the shadows which should be impossible. Now a new crew of angels must try and stop these new monsters and the energies that are driving them.
Only one plotline of this supposed to be short series has been fully developed, but it's fun to work on and reread the storyboards for. It may take a few months give or take to fully start, but I feel it will be a fun read when worked out to its full potential.
I have quite literally cabinets full of stories that I have created since freshman year of high school and have on and off worked on quite a few. There are some others that I am currently working/reworking on such as a superhero trying to find out what happened to her superhero dad while being raised by her evil uncle. Feel free to ask for more information on any of these projects or any other projects. I've been too scared to bring them up or publish any creative projects because of being overwhelmed with school and fear of possible backlash. But I'd be happy to share anything people might want to ask about- I want to know if I could actually do this or if this is one of those dreams I've got to just put on the back burner.
I'll still create just random fan stuff for BBU and things like that. I did try to start a videogame/visual novel last year, but that never truly got really developed or much attention. I might work on other different kinds of projects in the future when I have the time, money, and energy (or stop making excuses). But for now- let me know what you guys think (very kindly) and if you'd ever wat to see an independent project created by me. If not- that's fine too, just please be nice if you think this isn't a good idea.
If no one chooses anything- that's fine too. I'd probably still do something eventually or try my shot again with other pitches. I welcome any advise for creating, publishing, self-publishing, legally making money or legally getting money to make something, ect. I'll be posting on other social medias as well. Let me know your thoughts (nicely and constructively). Thank you.

Tagged by the incredibly kind @nanuk-the-bat 😊 Thanks for tagging me!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 86 fics!
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
736,742 -- somehow it feels like this should be much higher, but there are several stories which haven't made it to AO3.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Alan Wake and Control. In the past, I've written for Hades, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Star Wars, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, just to name the big ones.
4. Top five fics by kudos
The Coming of Butterflies - Zagreus/Thanatos, a Hades fic
Out of My Hands and Into Your Heart - Alan Wake/Fictional Alex Casey, an Alan Wake fic
Sometime Around Midnight - Majima/Makoto, a Yakuza 0 fic
The Water - Reaper76, an Overwatch fic
What We Leave Behind - Hanzo/the Cowboy, Overwatch fic
5. Do you respond to comments?
Yes. I try to reply to every comment because I really appreciate people taking the time to leave them. It's easy to just read a fic and drop a kudos. It takes more time to think of something to say.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Well, Out of My Hands is a tragedy, so I think that qualifies as angstiest. However, I think several of my Trench/Darling fics are angsty given the nature of the pairing.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The Runaway Rabbit had a very uplifting ending, for being a sex pollen fic.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not in recent years, but I've received 2 hate comments in the past.
9. Do you write smut?
Yep. E rated fics are my most common on my profile!
10. Craziest crossover?
I'm not a fan of crossovers, but I have some ideas being cooked up for my third installment of my Fictional CaseyWake story that are crossover-esque.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully not, I'd be extremely angry if that happened.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes, I've had a few translated, namely The Coming of Butterflies.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, I've written several fics with @rangerzath. From OCs and beyond, we've written a lot together. We've recently started collaborating on comics, which has been a lot of fun!
14. All time favourite ship?
Trench/Darling
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't know about doubting. I don't want to close the door on anything. I want to get back to Days of Thunder and Forever and Always someday!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I like to think I write characters in character really well, like I capture their voices accurately. So dialogue, then.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing stories. Not becoming discouraged. Staying motivated. Resisting the urge to publish prematurely. Descriptions take a lot of time and thought. I try not to be repetitive, too, so it requires needing to get extra creative for said descriptions.
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I think there's a time and place for it.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
If we're talking about the original... then Inuyasha lol.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Out of My Hands and Into Your Heart. I tried my best to write a story detailing Alan's life before Bright Falls, his struggles, his moments of joy. I really just wanted to explore what could have led to Alan killing off Casey in The Sudden Stop. I wanted to explore the Writer's Journey(TM) and all the victories and setbacks creatives experience, because that vicious cycle is very much at the heart of Alan Wake as a series. I think I'll always be proud of it for what it accomplished, and I'm very pleased it's a finished story under my belt too. I'll tag @rangerzath @pintsizeninja @pinkomcranger @hearts-are-connected and @star-spangled-bastard (if you've been tagged already, sorry for the spam!)❤️

Hi....If you don't mind, can I ask, what are your top 10 (or top 7) favorite media (can be books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
If I’m being honest, I have been more into just listening to music during my free time more than anything and while I read a lot of manga, my goldfish brain would blank out if someone were to ask me anything about it. However, I will tell you my list of definite rewatch/reread series though some of them are pretty old or obscure.
My Top 10 (in no particular order)
Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun (manga/anime)
At first, I watched it mainly for the fun aesthetics (cute colourful characters with spooky backgrounds) but I fell in love with the characters and world-building of this series. The whole cast, be it main or supporting, are absolutely amazing and capable of running a story arc of their own even without the main cast which is seriously impressive. And while the anime only just scratched the surface, the author really built the setting of this series with great thought, with its own politics, history, systems, and culture that impacts the story well. No random fact is without purpose and I love it.
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. (manga/anime)
I’ve been watching anime since I was 4 so I can confidently say that I’m familiar with many classic anime tropes and cliches. This series is like a kudos to longtime anime fans with its jokes and jabs as it follows a strong psychic boy being absolutely done with the insanity of his life as he tries to keep his powers a secret from his schoolmates like a sports anime jock, a shojou girl, delinquent gone good, etc. The comedy coming from this deadpan omnipotent high school student is just an absolute delight. I kin Saiki so much
Nope (movie)
I’m a real fan of horror movies, especially those with undertones that bring a critical element to humanity. While I love all of Jordan Peele’s current works, Nope has got to be one of my favourite movies overall. I’ve heard of some of the criticisms people had with the film (pretty ironic ones too) but I personally love the pacing and suspense of the film. While it’s fun to watch monsters and killers get crazy from the get-go (that’s why Saw movies and slasher films were popular) but Nope touched on that all-too-real fear of not knowing what’s going to happen. That fear where you’re afraid but you’re not sure of what yet.
Petshop of Horrors (manga/anime) and the sequel Neo Petshop of Horrors (manga)
Speaking of horror with critical undertones, I was obsessed with this manga series that came out in the late 90s. I would try so hard to find a way to read this series every chance I could growing up. It’s a sorta episodic style story that stars a mysterious petshop owner that often becomes a suspect in the deaths of people who have bought animals from his shop. I love the philosophy of each new story that touches on humanity and how different (or similar) we are to animals. It questions our societal norms, expectations, base desires, mythology, what it means to live, and what is “acceptable” in our world. Unfortunately, the series was never fully translated and only published fewer copies than typical manga series due to reasons I’m not too sure of (possibly conflicts with ownership and company copyrights at the time, think Baccano situation). The series had an anime but even that anime only had 4 episodes (I still highly recommend it however). I’ve managed to get a few volumes for myself and I know people are selling certain volumes online but I have to save for essentials so collecting them is unfortunately a lower priority now.
Pokémon (video game/manga/anime)
Is this a cop-out? Nah. To this day, I would still have to physically fight myself to not buy plushies and games when I’m already broke af. Pokémon might be one of the first animes I have ever seen (I have seen both sub and dub because my brother found a way) and I would still on occasion go back to rewatch literally any season and any movie of theirs, Nintendo really hit the marketing jackpot with this franchise. The creativity and design are so iconic and memorable that it’s so easy and fun to get into the fantasy of going on an adventure with your favourite Pokémon. There’s of course some nostalgia at play since I loved the moments where my older brother would watch the movies with me and my cousin and I would collect the figurines together.
One Piece (manga/anime)
Is this also a cop-out? Don’t care. I LOVE ONE PIECE! I will sacrifice my time and tears for this series. I have legitimately managed to rewatch this 4 times in my life (granted I started when it only had 400+ episodes so I had an easier time) and I would willingly cry over a flashback, a whale, even a boat over and over again. The action and story-telling of this series just keeps me running back for more even if I keep meeting dumb gatekeepers (yea, people don’t believe me when I tell them I’m a One Piece fan, what are ya gonna do?) I haven’t watch the Netflix live action yet but I probably will once I get my friends to watch with me (I like to fangirl with friends~)
Forget my Husband, I’ll Go Make Money (manhwa)
Despite my blog probably being best known for the villain/ess series, the banner of my blog is not an isekai villainess story but a fantasy series where a woman who can see the past, present, and future tries to make money while being married to a foreign prince before expecting a divorce (because she assumed he rather marry for love than for political reasons). Fun fact, this series was actually one of the foundations when I was writing the villain/ess story for Leona. The art and main couple are just absolutely delightful, I can’t help but reread it as it returns for a new season. Not only is the art just gorgeous, the main couple is just so gosh darn entertaining with their conversations, personal dynamics, and hilarious misunderstandings. Just beautiful.
Hotel Del Luna (K-drama)
Leave it to my interest in horror to love a romance drama with ghosts in it. It’s funny, it’s cute, and some of the ghost’s backstory is heartbreaking as well. This is a great story to just have a nice cry out. I love the story, I love the music, but most importantly, I love IU! She is my queen and every scene she is in, she kills me with her fashion, her haughty character, and her tragic backstory. She and the male lead was such a fun twist of the typical k-drama relationship where she was the powerful but broken character who ended up being healed by the kind, hardworking character. I've watched this 3 times at this point, but I still cry Every. Single. Time. No exceptions.
Hell Girl (anime/manga)
If I haven’t sold you on how I was probably that kid with creepy interests, maybe this will convince you. This was my go-to show back when I was in middle school. There is no excuse, I just really love the psychological horror of this series. In the show, there is a website you can access at midnight where you can ask Ai or Hell Girl to send your most hated person to hell, with the price that you will go there too when you die. While there was a linear storyline in the background, the episodes were always new people who requested Ai’s help with different cases of their own hell on earth. It touches on some really heavy real-life topics but what made it memorable to me was how sometimes I would feel saddened by the choices the people in the show made. Sometimes, they’re in the situation where all they can do is curse someone to hell but then was it really worth losing your chance at a happier afterlife? I watched this show with some of my friends who either saw Ai as a villain for sending people to hell, or a saviour who helped these people find an escape from their torturer, and that honestly made me think about what it means to have that much hate in you. I always wondered if I was ever in that situation, what would I do if given the chance?
Big Hero 6 (movie)
Arguably the first Marvel-Disney movie since Disney bought Marvel, I remembered people having weird thoughts on the usually cartoony company taking over the superhero franchise but I fell in love with everything that was this movie. It had Marvel-style action mixed with classic Disney wholesomeness and gut-wrenching emotional moments. I loved the message and warmth that was in this movie. Having an older brother myself, I couldn’t imagine how I could go on if I lose him but watching Hiro being so well supported by Baymax and his friends cemented within me the importance of helping others and that supporting those in pain can be as powerful as stopping bad guys (sappy, I know but hey I’m now learning to be a preschool teacher so this really stuck with me). Tadashi’s recorded message brings me so much comfort that I didn’t realize I needed. He may have been the closest thing to a Disney crush for me.

20 Questions for Fic Writers Game
Tagged by @jo-harrington. Thank you!
1) How many works do you have on A03?
According to AO3, 195. However I do know it’s more since I have made a few drabble compilation. Someday I’ll reorganize everything.
2) What's your total AO3 word count?
686,641
3) What fandoms do you write for?
Baldur’s Gate 3, Stranger Things, Marvel/MCU, Star Wars, The Magnificent Seven, M*A*S*H, Good Omens, and a scattering of other fandoms here and there.
4) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Skipping Drabble/Headcanon compilations
I Want It All (Astarion x Ace!Tav)
Life Is Inevitable Like That (Ineffable Husbands)
Trust Me (Poe Dameron x Reader)
An Unspoken Thing (Doctor Strange x Reader)
Questions (Ineffable Husbands)
5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I respond to most of them, or at least try to. I think it’s important to building a community, which is what I hope I encourage. Also as a way to show that yes, I did read it and yes, commenting does matter.
6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
What If…Loki Lost His Love?
I don’t do major character death or angst in general. It’s just not what I’m looking for in fics, but I actually think I did a good job on this one.
7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of them? They’re basically all one-shots with happy conclusions. I think if my recent stuff, probably I Want It All.
8) Do you get hate on fics?
I did get one “kill yourself” message a few years ago, but it was just one person on anon. The reception to basically all of my fics have been positive.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kinds?
I’ve written some smut. I’ve done a couple of Kinktobers and some for Clone Wars. I think the best way I can describe the way I write smut is “sensual”? And it’s a little rougher. Idk, somebody better versed than me could describe it better.
10) Do you write crossovers?
Not really
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I did have a few of my Poe Dameron fics stolen a few years back, but I messaged them and they quickly deleted the fic. That all being said, if anybody notices my works being stolen or copied, please let me know.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that anyone has told me.
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
My sister and I have talked about it, but no.
14) What's your all time favorite ship?
Ineffable Husbands
15) What's a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
*glances at all WIPs I already have published and drawers full of WIPs saved on my computer*
What are you a cop?
16) What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, characterization and emotions. At least that’s what people have told me.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
Prose. I’m still working on getting more creative with my descriptions. I could also really get better at scene setting in general.
18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I’m not against it, but use it wisely.
If you want to reader to understand what is being said, write it out in the language of the fic. This isn’t a movie. Putting a translation at the bottom of the chapter or in the middle of the sentence makes it sloppy. Instead type out “they said in X language, “___”.
However if you want a character to hear something being said in a different language and they don’t understand it, then type it out of you want.
19) First fandom you wrote for?
Unpublished? Harry Potter
Published? Sherlock (no you can’t read it)
20) Favorite fic you've written?
Don’t make me pick. I’ve written so much and I have a soft spot for so many for a variety of reasons. If you want to send me a fic title and ask me about it, I’ll gladly answer any questions you want.
