Day 19 (Day 25) - Complete November 24 2023
Picked up the cross training session that was meant to be yesterday. I’m actually missing the heavier gym sessions a little so it was nice to go in for a full weights day. I would normally start a weights session with a 10min treadmill run, but I skipped it today because I wanted to grab the squat rack while it was empty. Did squats, bench, lunges, split squats, tricep extensions and curls. Took about 45 mins, I think, I wasn’t paying attention to the time to be honest. Definitely more than the scheduled 20-30 though. 
Day 21 (Day 26) - Complete November 25 2023
Rest day. 
Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. 
I should not have done so many leg exercises yesterday. This is bad.

Nope, it’s not gonna happen, my legs are still wrecked from Friday.

Day 22 (Day 28) - Complete November 27 2023
Felt confident that I’d make the run ok. It was only a minute longer intervals than my last run, after all. My legs were mostly feeling better. I should have done this run in the morning, but I slept in instead and ended up running in the dark again. I went through the rice fields this time, and it’s actually really nice running out there in the dark. I’m sure it’s pretty safe as well, but all it takes is one psycho to jump you in the dark and it’s all over, so I guess I’ll try and avoid it in future.
The run itself felt pretty easy. I miscounted my intervals as I was running and I thought I’d finished, but then the timer went for one more. I was actually ok with this, I was fine to run another 5 minute interval, which is not a point I ever really thought I’d be able to get to. In general I’m quite surprised at how well my endurance is coming along and a part of me thinks I might actually be able to do this. 
Also noticed that today’s the first time I’ve actually done the “Monday” session on a Monday.
Day 23 (Day 29) - Complete November 28 2023
Actually pulled myself out of bed early for once. Considered running today even though it’s not scheduled, but I didn’t. I did some bodyweight stuff at home - squats, pushups, sit ups etc. I don’t think it was for 35 mins but I’m counting it as my cross training. I’ve done extra on other days so I think it evens out.
iTomorrow is scheduled for a rest day, but I think I’m going to run anyway as I have the day off for a trip to the licence centre (urgh).

Someone please tell Me if aiming for 1 date a week when single is realistic
This book How Not To Die Alone gave such advice and while I realize where it's coming from good intentions in theory (making dating Hesitators who always feel they need to be more perfect before dating to just Go Date), i also frankly don't know how I'd meet 1 vaguely stable vaguely compatible person to ask out in a year let alone weekly.
#rant#like. if i were to meet the once a qeek quota right now?#id basically HAVE to ask out someone with nothing in common or whos in a poly relationship even tho#tyats not what im looking for (so the relationsgip would go nowhere and id waste both our time)#or with red flags (overt ones... which i simply refuse to do)#and then... if somehow i disregarded all boundaries and asked out virtually Anyone#and thats assuming ppl say yes. and i matxhed 10k people once and 1 single incompatible person said yes in a whole year.#well even IF it all worked out and i found one date a qeek.#im chronically ill and have gastroparesis. so SITTING hurts a lot and EATING food is not always possible for me#if i have a bad day i cant eat foods for a few days or week#and even on good days... one bad food choice can mean puking and pain and unable to eat for a WEEK following#so im scared of restaurant food a bit.#because even when i order very safely and barely eat. a restaurant might make a mistake and add food im allergic too#or forget to remove what i asked. or i didnt realize they used dairy in a salad dressing#and then im puking and bloated and in oain and starving for days :/#so like. a coffee date? a tea date? id be up for that. resonably safe its jyst flavored water.#but ANY restaurant or long movie (sitting) or something involving food and im quite scared i would be#very sick the remainder of the week.#and i have othef things to save my energy for vesides dates: WORK MEETINGS. work so i dont call in sick VOMITING.#my family wanting a nice dinner including some bread (and me reallt wanting the bread and to not have to skip dinner so i want to risk it)#my 2 times weekly PT where i cant call in sick and if im exhaustsd and vomiting and in intense pain PT is VERY hard.#my friends who (like dates) often wish to grab food. which as mentioned is always a huge risk and#i always sacrifice Getting to see friends i love with May Be Utterly fucked up for a week :c

 ♡ PRETTIER HIERARCHY ♡

If you don’t want to read all of this, I created a hierarchy of everything you need to do to glow up, right at the end!!! But I recommend reading everything first <3
I’ve been trying to ‘glow up’ like forever, but there was no actual content out there that helped me glow up. Most people sugarcoated, or their lifestyles of glowing up just weren't sustainable for me. So, I created this post for everyone planning to glow up or maximise their prettiness! 
DISCLAIMER – THIS POST IS NOT DETAILED. I wanted to do a simple outline to give you guys an idea of what to do to maximise your pretty. A little help to plan, especially as we enter 2024, but I’ll expand on these individual topics in the future. 
GRADE 1 – HEALTH
Being healthy can make you SO pretty. Being healthy is the foundation. There are other ways to be physically healthy, but after doing these 4 the rest usually fall in place.  Here are some simple ways to become healthier, and then eventually prettier!
HEALTHY EATING.
 I'm not going to go super deep into this, as no diet fits everyone + Please consult with your doctor before taking any extreme advice. Though, I'll tell you a bit of things that helped me !!
Stop drinking soda. Please, it's so unhealthy and it's full of so many sugars. Even the ones that are 0 cal, have weird chemicals that I don't trust. Many more alternatives taste just as good, like coconut water, herbal drinks, smoothies etc! Especially because nowadays most large calories and sugar intakes are from sugary drinks 
Stop restricting, moderate it. I am a big fan of dairy, yoghurt, milk, and cheese, I love it all. However I acknowledge that dairy isn’t the healthiest, so instead I always ensure I'm eating in moderation. E.g I put a tablespoon of shredded cheese in my omelettes instead of a handful. You will enjoy healthy eating so much, but only if you're not restricting. 
Have one serving of fruit, vegetables, or both with each meal. It provides so many good nutrients, makes you fuller and keeps you hydrated. Measure with your palm to ensure you’re eating enough. 
Know that just because one food has fewer calories than the other, does not mean it is the healthiest. I struggled so much with this, especially because many weight loss accounts will mention this, but it is so wrong. White bread has fewer calories than brown bread, but brown bread is higher in nutritional value. 
Plan snacks. Planning snacks for throughout the day, instead of spontaneously eating is so much better. I recommend this for anyone who gets hungry during the day but not enough for a meal (like me!)
Drink more water. Not 1L a day, because it is so much more ideal for you to have a glass of water with each meal + when you feel thirsty. 
Start educating yourself. This is as much as I can tell you, im not a nutritionist or a dietitian but if you plan to ensure that healthy eating becomes your lifestyle, educating yourself is essential!! 
EXERCISING.
Once again, I'm only going to go surface level with this because it is only based on my personal experience + Consult with your doctor before doing anything extreme. 
Start aiming for 5k+ steps. I see a lot of people advertise 10k+ steps as the standard, or what's active, but it's not sustainable If you're a busy person with a sedentary life or a beginner at exercise it is gonna be hard to sustain that. But walking is so good for you and simple too.
Join your local sports! Such a fun way to socialise while still exerting energy. 
If you can't do that for whatever reason, there are many ways to exercise at home. Research and pick a workout that you like and is sustainable. E.g. jump rope, pilates, home exercises, weightlifting, biking
Start standing more, it exerts energy. While very little, it still is very good. 
That's it, but remember to always start small with exercising, and RESEARCH!
BETTER SLEEP
To me, it doesn’t matter how much sleep a person is getting, but much more rather the quality of said sleep. So, here are some tricks and tips to get better at sleeping!!
Investing in a good quality pillow is so good for your sleep, the more comfortable you are, the better + it reduces the chances of poor posture or hump necks 
Research about different sleeping positions, as some positions at night promote back pain, difficulty breathing or poor posture. 
Start sleeping in complete darkness. Remove all sources of light or invest in good light-blocking curtains OR binders. Though, binders seem to be much more effective but are more pricey. If you cannot do either of that, buy a good sleeping mask. 
Sleep in the cold. Your body easily falls asleep if your environment is cold, and you’re less likely to wake up in the middle of the night. 
It is ideal for you to stop using devices an hour or two before bed, but if it is not sustainable for you, wear red blue-light-blocking glasses instead of clear ones. Red ones are more effective. 
Avoid large physical or mental tasks before bed, use that time to unwind and tell your body it's time to go to sleep. 
Avoid napping for longer than 30 minutes, or it can disrupt the sleep you have at night. 
Go to sleep at similar times every day. If you go to sleep earlier or later than this, you will ruin your sleep schedule and feel groggy. 
I expand more here. 
ORAL HEALTH
This is a step many people will neglect, but the most important in my opinion. Your teeth are the only body part that fails to regenerate after a certain age. Here's how I take care of mine!
Brush your teeth for longer. Brushing your teeth should not be a sped-up process, put actual thought into it. 
Start flossing. Floss removes plaque, and reduces the chances of your teeth yellowing! Do this ideally after each meal.
Brush your teeth before you eat. Brushing my teeth is the first thing I do when I wake up because brushing your teeth is supposed to protect your teeth from the food, not wash away your food. 
If you have the means, buy an electric toothbrush, as this gets in the little nooks and crannies that a regular one cannot. 
Use a tongue scraper or your toothbrush to get rid of any bacteria on your tongue. 
Use straws to drink coffee or any heavily coloured drinks. This avoids the premature yellowing of teeth. Make sure you put the straw on the side of your mouth to avoid your teeth. 
Use good mouthwash. A total game-changer, makes your breath fresher and your gums healthier. 
If need be, definitely use a purple teeth serum as a whitening treatment.
GRADE 2: STYLE 
I do not mean literal clothes and style, that's in grade 3. This is all about basic grooming and such. This is 2nd most important, especially if you're somebody who’s never been invested in beauty.
SKINCARE 
Get a basic skincare routine, cleanser and moisturiser.
If you have other skincare concerns e.g. dry skin, hyperpigmentation, acne, or blemishes, invest in a serum. 
Avoid touching your face frequently.
Wash makeup brushes & pillowcases often.
Dermaplaning to help skincare absorb better. 
Use sunscreen!
HAIRCARE
 Invest in a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair type.
Use a good hair oil, it doesn’t have to be for growth, but just for nourishing your scalp
Sleep with a good quality bonnet on.
Find which type of hairbrush works the best on you!
Use warm water to remove product build up and dirt, but use cool water to rinse.
Buy spray suncsreen to put on your scalp during hot weather.
Once again, research. Hair is just too much of a broad topic for me to thoroughly talk about.
EYEBROW & LASHES
Trim your eyebrows regularly to avoid too many stray hairs
Tint your eyebrows and lashes. If you already have dark eyelashes and brows, try a lighter look. I seem to prefer a dark brown look to a black 
Invest in a good lash & brow serum or use any oil
Don't use Vaseline on your eyelashes.
 Limit how much you wear mascara. 
I talk more about this here. 
BODY & HANDS 
Have a daily shower routine which consists of washing, exfoliating and moisturising your skin. 
Using scented products is such a game changer, smelling good is like being a magnet 
Doing manicures, my routine is a cuticle scrub, file, buff, polish, paint then cuticle oil. 
Shave on the areas you want to. Having smooth skin is nice, but to ensure your shave lasts longer, watch a video.

LIPS
Invest in a good, portable lip balm. I prefer the ones that burn your lips to give it a more fuller effect
Make your lip scrub. Sugar, honey and turmeric are my go-to. Helps remove dead skin.
If you have hyperpigmentation around the lips, use glycolic acid, only a little.
GRADE 3 – FASHION
My favourite grade, because it is so fun and focuses more on the aesthetic side of things. However, they're not essential, which makes it all the more fun!
CLOTHES 
 I have a post about wardrobe essentials here. 
Find out about what season colours you are. This helps with using colours in fashion to enhance. ( if you don't like your colours it is okay, it doesn’t change much if you do not wear them) 
Figuring out your undertone colours for jewellery. 
Figure out what works for your figure. Experiment with necklines, bottom length etc. 
Find out your general style too, what you feel confident in and more assured. 
MAKEUP
Research and only watch tutorials of women who look like you (trust me). 
Dear Peachie has a bunch of videos of how makeup works, for beginners to more advanced artists!
Then make your signature look for every using your knowledge. 
FRAGRANCE 
Invest in a good eau de parfum and eau de toilette. Cheap fragrances suck. 
Invest in a good-scented lotion. My favourite brand is Vaseline.
Using a good nice fabric softener for laundry makes you feel and smell fresh
Using an expensive scented body wash doesn’t matter, invest in a good body lotion. 
HAIR STYLING 
Hairstyles that enhance your face shape, not shield it. 
Having a simple signature look for everyday
Experimenting with your hair is ideal, but if you can't for whatever reason once again research.
GRADE 4 – PERSONALITY
The way you seem to others can make you so much prettier. Fake it till you make it as always~
POSTURE
Having good posture makes you stand out, makes you look prettier and is generally good for your health
Chin is parallel to the floor, shoulders are down and relaxed, rib cage is elevated, pelvis is tucked in, your knees straight and flexed, and the weight on your feet should be in the center.
You can stretch for good posture, there are many videos on this on YouTube.
Ensure your sleeping position is promoting good posture, not poor. 
Buy a back brace to reinforce good posture.
BODY LANGUAGE
Learn how to move your body during conversations to seem more self-respected and confident.
Train your facial expressions for different situations, but especially for taking photos.
There are tons of books and videos on this, won’t expand because this is all about how you want others to perceive you. 
ELOQUENCE
Improve the way you communicate with others. Be fluent and clear to understand 
Expand your vocabulary, know how to substitute words on the spot and make sentences. 
Knowing what to say in like any and every conversation makes people like you more, and the best way to be more eloquent is just practice. 
There are so many good books about this.. read.
GRADE 5 – MIND
Personally, having a good mindset does boost your self-perception of your prettiness + being happier in general makes you more inclined to take care of yourself = being more pretty!!!
MENTAL HEALTH
Start journaling as a way to organise your thoughts and to truly analyse your emotions. There are a lot of journaling prompts on Pinterest and such!
Meditation as a way to clear the mind when needed is so good. There are a bunch more meditations for other purposes though like body image, productivity, focus or just general relaxation.
Go to therapy, or just have at least one person you can talk to when life becomes tough.
Cut back on social media. There's misinformation, trolls and a lot of content that isn't nourishing your mind. 
Get some sun! Simple and doable, but has a huge effect on the body. It can improve the current mood. Wear sunscreen. 
Start learning how to process situations, instead of bypassing the emotions that come with them. 
Start surrounding yourself with like-minded people. Seriously, being around people who are just too different is draining. 
MINDSET
Embrace growth and reject all forms of comfort. Being uncomfortable with something is growth. 
Don’t do things because you ‘have’ to do this, do them because they benefit you and see it in that way. E.g ‘I’m going to clean my room because I deserve a clean place to rest and work’ instead of ‘I have to clean my room’
Become detached. Stop letting everything that happens in your life affect you, start observing instead of consuming. 
Self validates yourself. Tam Kaur did a wonderful video on this that I think everyone should watch.
Stop believing that everything and everyone is out to get you. Your subconscious mind believes this, do not feed it, starve it.
There's a lot to say about mindset, but I recommend watching some mindset YouTubers who explain everything in depth.

with my birthday coming up i'm feeling reflective;
i'm about to end my 20s and enter my 30s, looking back a ton has happened in 10 years, every decade i set goals (okay maybe i did it at 10 and again at 20, obvs bbs can't do shit) my goals for my 20s were;
graduate ✔️
get married ✔️
have a baby ✔️
make senior accountant (originally this was for public accounting, but i did one busy season and decided i would rather keep my sanity) my current company does not have the title senior accountant, but my title is accountant and i'm top, doing quite a bit of cfo/comptroller style work so i'm counting this as a win ✔️
Run a half-marathon (I was up to 10ks, then got pregnant and was told to stop running and working out, after that i really didn't have the time or whatever to get back into running until this year which i was doing well until i started getting sick)✖️
Only one of these things are things that I could actually control (graduate lol) but i managed to bag the rest of them i still managed to get married even if it ended in the big D (and I don't mean Dallas)
For my 30s I want to focus more on things that I control.
Learn a new language-I'm thinking Japanese and French, I really want to be able to understand them, not necessarily speak or write, but that would be bonus, i'd also like to learn more, and refresh my spanish skills back to where they were when i turned 20 lol
Learn art or at least keep up with it- i've written about wanting to learn how to draw multiple times, but now i'm actually doing it, i enjoy being creative, i'm always working on a craft, but now i'm really putting the effort into art, i know it's something you have to keep up with so here's to daily practice even if it's a quick small doodle
keep writing- used to i wanted to write the epic novel that would be remembered for centuries, but as i've gotten older i realized i just wanted attention, now that i'm older and not living with my parents i've accepted the fact that i'm not interested in writing outside of fanfics and the occasional technical piece, i don't need to be remembered and any writing i do should be for fun (or for research purposes)
understand my health better- after i got a pulmonary embolism at 17 then another at 19 i sort of just got used to being on blood thinners, right before my 20th i changed my diet to oil-free vegan then just vegan, i was really feeling good and i think it was all of the fresh ingredients, so i'd like to go back to that, i'm cutting out wheat again, and dairy temporarily, but also this year i was diagnosed with adhd so understanding it is a goal, i remember in college when i was running and eating healthy all the time i was suffering less so i'd like to get back to that, and then as always getting my allergy issues under control, i think the main thing here is just finding out what works and what doesn't, and accepting giving up certain things that cause problems
run a half-marathon- i love running, i started again this year, i missed it a lot, now that i'm getting older i need to make sure to improve my physical health, the thing about training with running is it is also good to cross train, so add in weights, flexibility and so on, i was running best when i weight trained and did yoga, so going to hopefully pick those back up
Get back into sewing- in college i used to sew all a lot of my own clothes, i constantly got compliments on my stuff, i still sew now and then but it's mostly mending or random crafts, i'd like to get back into clothes, as well as tailoring (really redoing) thrifted clothes, which is where i buy something a size too big and practice my sewing skills by reworking the clothes into something cute, it reuses clothes and is a lot cheaper than buying fabric, i'd also like to work with silk, i don't buy silk clothes a lot, but i've found my skin reacts better to it but it's so expensive, a lot cheaper to just buy fabric
attend more festivals/activities- i really enjoy getting out into the community and doing things, seeing things, my exhusband was (and still is) a homebody, he also would complain when I went to things, always wanting me at home with him, so now that we're not together i'd like to start attending things in the community again
pick piano back up/learn a new instrument (violin??)- i used to play the piano and sing in the church choir in high school, unfortunately i can't sing anymore, at least not without having to yawn and take in more air I lost my ability to sing for long periods after my first pulmonary embolism, but now i'd really like to expand my brain by learning violin something i always wanted to learn but never had the ability to as a kid, but as an adult i can, picking piano back up and teaching my kid too
pay off debt/use credit sparingly- we had some financial troubles back a few years ago, and i racked my credit cards up, i've been slowly paying them, but i'd like to pay it all off and really only use in an emergency
be a good mom- self explanatory
My birthday is only 9 days after new year so i always feel like new years and a new age are pretty closely intertwined, so i guess here is to my 30s, i hope i make fewer shitty decisions lmao

Happy to have reached 97lbs bmi 15.9 considering my goal was to get from 106 to 98 by Christmas break. Had a metabolism day (1300-1400cal) day following a period of restricting 500-900 cals a day and the odd 20-48 hr fast.
My next step is to go for maintainence/slower weight loss until Christmas break bc if I’m too much smaller than I am now idk how my parents will react although I’d love to be at UGW asap and I totally would if nobody cared or I was scared of being forced into recovery.
My college is catered so I have to eat at the canteen so i don’t know 100 percent exact calories but I was able to lose weight relatively fast by monitoring my portions, fasts, eating less fatty/refined carb food (not cutting completely though unless it’s something that’s a lot of fat and carbs combined), one or two meals a day (OMAD was usually dinner and if I had two meals it could be any of breakfast and dinner, lunch and dinner or breakfast and lunch) and trying to get 10k steps in most days (approx 5 days a week).
I’m going to do a week of this kind of eating and see what effect it has. However I won’t do the fasts (apart from a short ish one on Fridays see why below) and will have 3 meals. But I’ll still get my steps and keep the meals light with no snacks. I’ll see if this results in maintenance or slow weight loss. If I’m doing 3 meals I’m going to try and have dairy even less often (use soy in my tea and coffee and avoid creamy salads however 1 small bowl of natural yoghurt allowed each day and veggie instead of vegan option for dinner if the vegan option looks too oily or carby)
Breakfast
(The serving bowls are so cute and tiny at uni so it helps with portion control. Most people have a couple of bowls of different things or go back for more). Nothing too heavy like bagels butter or avocado. No porridge/oatmeal because idk exactly how they prepare it I think it’s done fully with hot milk and no muesli.
- tea/coffee with soy x3 (no sugar just sweetener)
- 2 weetabix with soy OR
- cornflakes with soy OR
- bran flakes with soy OR
-rice krispies with soy
Lunch (no mains)
- small bowl of soup AND
- small bowl of natural yogurt (2 not 3 scoops) AND
-small plate with 1 scoop of healthy grains and 1 scoop salad greens/veggies
Dinner
- choose the healthiest looking main either vegan, vegetarian or fish
- only veggies and salad on the side no extra carbs like potatoes and rice
Fridays
On Friday the dinner options tend to be a bit more fatty than other days of the week, so safest bet is to OMAD on Friday. Options are usually pies battered fish and battered vegan sausage. Stick to veggies and salad on the side and fake eating a bagel or something heavier for breakfast so parents don’t suspect anything.
Weekends
Brunch
Eat brunch instead of breakfast. If you must eat breakfast stick to salad and yoghurt for lunch. Don’t eat the hash browns or toast stick to sources of protein. No bacon or meat sausages bc I’m pescatarian and they are super fatty I wouldn’t eat them even if I ate meat.
- tea or coffee with soy and sweetener x3
- 2 veggie sausages, scrambled eggs and 1 scoop of baked beans OR
-1 veggie patty, 1 veggie sausage, scrambled egg and 1 scoop of baked beans

oh this is adorable. I love this so much.
five is an interesting number because-- discounting the four wips I consider active and the fan music I've written-- I've only published seven fics. so this'll be less a question of which ones I include and more a question of which I don't.
all right. let's get into it.
in no particular order:
Through His Stomach - Black Sails - E - 24k - ongoing this is my dark fairytale au. when I refer to "hagfic" I'm talking about this piece. Thomas is dying, and Flint strikes a deal with a mysterious magical entity known as the Cook to save his life. this fic is full of hunger and magic and psychosexual fixation and devotion and desperation and cannibalism and some of the most gorgeous prose I've ever written in my life. I learned how to write smut for this fic. it's my pride and joy. it has my heart in a way no other fic ever will.
Ner Tamid - Black Sails - M - 3k - complete if Through His Stomach has my heart, Ner Tamid has my soul. this is a character study about Silver and judaism and grief, masquerading as canon divergence wherein he cannibalizes Muldoon's corpse in the doldrums. I had a fun little mental health episode the night before my mom's birthday and wrote this whole thing in one ten-hour sitting. it's a pesach story-- the doldrums the plagues, Muldoon Nachshon, the dairy goat the paschal lamb, and Silver the prophet. Silver Moses. it's about the burden of responsibility and the burden of survival. it's about seeing how far you'd go just to keep shouldering that weight.
Sanguine - Ted Lasso - M - 19k - complete my Trent/Ted vampire au featuring Trent as the vampire (I got nearly 30k into my Trent/Ted vampire au featuring Ted as the vampire, but I honestly don't know if I'll ever finish that one). Sanguine is an s2 canon divergence wherein Trent goes into a frenzy after Ted lies about his panic attack and kills someone. it's about want and monstrosity, about seeing the grotesque and loving it anyway. I'm especially proud of how the narrative voice shifts between the scenes from Trent's pov and Ted's. it's just… a good story. Ted Lasso is the biggest fandom I've written for, so it makes sense that this is my most popular fic, but it very much deserves to be my most popular fic regardless. it's just a good story. it's a good story.
Cold, Dark, Depraved - Black Sails - E - 10k - complete my latest crime, extremely heavy on the angst. I nicknamed this fic "anti-comfort fic" on purpose. a canon-compliant look at s3 and s4 wherein Silver and Flint had been sleeping together for a long while, then broke up when they got to Maroon Island. it's about grief and cruelty and saying, "there can be no happiness in the world, and to prove it I will go out of my way to eradicate any shred of happiness I can find." this is a fic about beating yourself half to death and digging your fingers into every bruise. it's about love and denial and care and grief. grief is my favorite subject.
Five Girls Annie Almost Kissed and One She Did - Community - T - 11k - complete this is the earliest fic on my ao3 (I had a different account I used in high school; it's still out there somewhere but it's not worth finding). a canon-compliant character study of Annie from middle school all the way through the first few seasons of the show, chronicling her journey towards discovering lesbianism. I'm sure if I rewrote it today, six years later, it would look very different, but it's precious to me as it is. this is a fic about Annie, and it's a fic about me in equal measure.
there it is. that's my five. shout-out to the two I didn't include (Fraught, 15k of fucked-up smut for a book series three people have read, and Crawl 'Til Dawn, the Annie/Britta vampire au I left unfinished for four and a half years but finally got me back into writing, another piece I'd do very differently if I wrote it today).

seriously i can not believe the economy right now and while i can’t be too mad at my dad because at least he’s getting my teeth fixed but making me pay rent, bills, my own gas, and food when i’m disabled and only make 840 a month is financially abusive and i don’t care if anyone disagrees! the rent is WAY lower than what i’d pay for an actual apartment but jesus christ!
he keeps claiming i should be able to “afford everything” and accuses me of doing things i don’t do and even “eating too much” because i’m fat (the BMI calls me obese but i’m only 35 to 40 pounds overweight, no current doctor i have even *mentions* my weight or agrees i’m obese. it’s also looking like now it was caused by polycystic ovary syndrome that went undiagnosed for like 15+ years!)
food and gas is insane at the moment (fast food isn’t even somewhat affordable anymore — a chicken quesadilla at taco bell is now SIX dollars and a cheeseburger and small fries is nearly five dollars at mcdonalds!) and have you seen the price of gas??? holy shit! and i get great gas mileage on my car too! (public transport literally doesn’t exist here). i mean i guess at the very least i CAN drive and have a car.
i don’t even have many dietary restrictions besides being unable to eat too many dairy products starting last year (doctors aren’t sure why — they think i spontaneously became allergic to milk), being allergic to bananas, and having to be a little careful with what i eat as my stomach/esophagus is still healing from excessive NSAID use due to having to avoid narcotics for many years because of a severe nearly decade long drug addiction that destroyed my life and just maxing out on tylenol everyday.
the most expensive thing i pay for is fiji water because despite being hyposensitive taste wise my autism finds every other water completely unbearable and it helps keep me healthier (also admittedly i had a serious relapse with my alcoholism during my schizophrenic episode during the first year of the pandemic which contributed to the stomach damage)
i just can’t believe that the entire reason i’m forced to live with my dad is because i can’t live on my own because the government thinks 10k a year is sufficient (and doesn’t even like to cover my medical care) and yet my dad still makes me pay for almost everything like i do… i’m not eligible for SNAP (food stamps) either.
(and then you have people who think i’m a burden on society and don’t deserve even a dime or people who think those on disability are rolling around in thousands! fuck every person who works who makes jokes about “wanting to get injured” so they can get on disability because i promise you you are making more than me)
the only good news is i MAY now be eligible/able to get 500 dollars worth of dental care every year under medicaid (no co-pay/payment on my part) which would cover at least one yearly exam/x-rays and a filling or possibly two if i get a cavity? i’m looking into it at the moment.
maybe i shouldn’t be complaining because it’s better than being homeless (which i have been before) but i don’t know. i know it’s hard on everyone else who’s poor and even some of the middle class right now.

Christopher Douglas Stewart (born July 15, 1960) is an American politician, author, and businessman who served as the U.S. representative for Utah's 2nd congressional district from 2013 until his resignation in 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he is known for his bestsellers Seven Miracles That Saved America and The Miracle of Freedom: Seven Tipping Points That Saved the World, as well as his series The Great and Terrible. Stewart was born in Logan, Utah, and grew up on a dairy farm in Cache Valley. His father was a retired Air Force pilot and teacher. His mother, Sybil S. Stewart, was a full-time homemaker and was recognized as the Utah Mother of the Year in 1996. Stewart graduated from Sky View High School in 1978 and entered Utah State University that year. Celeste Maloy (born May 22, 1981) is an American attorney and politician who is the U.S. representative for Utah's 2nd congressional district. She previously served as chief legal counsel to U.S. Representative Chris Stewart and as the deputy county attorney for Washington County, Utah. Prior to her legal career, Maloy worked as a conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Maloy was born in Cedar City, Utah, and raised in Hiko, Nevada in a single-wide trailer with five siblings; her mother sold Avon products, while her father was a volunteer firefighter. Maloy is the niece of Cliven Bundy and cousin of Ammon Bundy, known for their involvement in the 2014 Bundy standoff. She later graduated from Pahranagat Valley High School in Alamo, Nevada. After graduating high school, Maloy attended Southern Utah University, where she earned her degree in agriculture. She earned a Juris Doctor from J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 2015. In June 2023, she announced her candidacy for the 2023 Utah's 2nd congressional district special election after Representative Stewart announced his retirement to care for his wife's health issues. Stewart publicly endorsed Maloy after reports that thirteen Republicans had filed for the contested primary election. On June 24, 2023, Maloy won the Utah Republican nominating convention for the 2nd district in an upset. However, she still had to face a primary election, as two other candidates had gathered enough signatures to make the primary ballot. "We really shouldn't be doing this," He murmurs, his dark eyes set in a disapproving gaze on the stain at the corners of your lips. Your tongue darts out to wash away the translucent sticky substance, straightening your clothes from where you'd leaned across the center console.
"No one's gonna know," You insist, "It's not like we had anything better to do."
There's a soft crunch as Aaron bites into the rim of his waffle cone, vanilla ice cream still smeared over your chin. You can't believe you got him to take a detour to a Dairy Queen, especially in the middle of work hours.
"We should probably be investigating this double homicide." He reminds you gently of your job, and you throw your head back against the seat with a groan.
"We're waiting on a tip line! There's nothing we can do," You huff, "Now please just finish your ice cream so we can stop by Dollar Tree like you promised."
