I recently saw @zillychu amazing fire core au and my mind was occupied the whole week with their Danny design. So I made some fanart!

Above is 3D model of their Danny. I tried to recreate one the pose from their artwork.

Below is a small animation draft of Danny crashing to earth from a star(left to right). I thought with his long hair and his firecore he propably could cosplay a shooting star very well!

I think one of the greatest tragedies of digital mediums is that fact that, no matter what, you cannot make a comic with 3D models. Despite how convenient the idea seems. You can animate with them, illustrate with them, make video games with them—but you cannot, under any circumstance, make a comic with them. Because it will just end up looking exactly like this:

#The solution is that‚ while this is unacceptable‚ it is for some reason perfectly acceptable to put a text box underneath 3D models.#It's unclear why this is fine. But it is. I guess it's just the implication that the text box is an independent logical element?#But trying to make speech bubbles just does not work. They're too 2D for you to suspend your disbelief.#Maybe someone out there has accomplished this. If so I would greatly like to see it. But it seems kind of unlikely.

#i dont even think this is some lack of skill on CG artists end this falls more on directing and supervisors #converting some 2D designs into a 3D model is just fitting a square peg in a round hole #unless the entire production is following a more mock 2D style #which modelers and riggers really arent in control to make those calls

Ok I hate ai art but I would be a liar if I said I didn't wish for my computer to have "just do it for me" button. I'm listening to silly songs and all I think of is Martin making cute little dance and I just don't have enough time and energy in my life to do everything.

Me, several years ago: "I'll never try digital 3D art... just have no interest to learn it. Already have learned other art forms that I barely use anyway... so why add to that ?..."

Me, currently: [Is attempting to model a donut in Blender] "... uh... I can explain..."

#7rambles #idk what compelled me to attempt Blender finally but gosh...#no... actually I know why...#so I was thinking on how hard it would be to animate PJ... (yep it all comes back to that sass blob) in 2D...#and then I visualized him in a 3D art style and just went ....“welp - gotta at least attempt that...”#but man this program - even with my knowledge of ADOBE products and LIVE2D - feels overwhelming...#so... gotta go through a tutorial and the donut one seemed like the most comprehensive one!#soooooooooooooo will I ever get to the point of modeling PJ?#uh... after I give him an updated reference sheet XD #and who knows when that'll happen #gosh... this plus wanting to do that Miku Miku Beam meme thing... and a separate drawing thing I want to do for a KPop group...#now I'm running into the “all inspiration - zero time” rut of creating things XD

As much as I love Echoes of Wisdom, I do wish they made this Link a bit more visually distinct from the other chibi Link. Something to show he's new.

that's what fanart is for baby 👍 (i am also slowly but surely running out of ways to make visually distinct links ngl)

#in their defense 1. the reused assets mean we probably got the game WAY faster than usual #and 2. honestly theres only so much you can do with a 2d sprite even when its technincally 3d modeled #like they WOULD technically revamp the sprites for new installments w the old 2d games but they all look. pretty similar anyways #with the exception of alttp. pink haired little freak #asks #actually ykw. im going to do a quick art excercise see you all in probably 2 hours
