Growing up religious and not being religious anymore is weird. I was on the verge of an anxiety attack last time I was in a church. I pray a rosary for my grandma with my family every month since her passing. Prayers in english make me nervous. Prayers in spanish feel like childhood comfort. I can’t tell my mom I don’t want to go to mass because it reminds me of all the times I knelt and asked God to make me straight, to make me good. I sometimes wish I could find it in me to look for a more open-minded church and actually believe. I’m glad I got out. I miss having faith. I would place my entire value as a person on how well I could love God, memorize prayers, be a good girl. I sometimes wish I hadn’t asked so many questions. I joke about going to hell for being bi, for not quite feeling like a girl, but it still hurts to remember how that was said by a priest at church. I capitalize the g for a God I don’t believe in and hope that he still loves me.

now i've watched a fair amount of d&d i've started to pick up on the differences between dm style i think

like brennan IS all the bad guys. every game he dms is brennan vs the players. he makes npcs and battles that make his friends throw things at him and he smirks the whole time. he makes them tell him their worst fears and then he makes them do it. and it's awful and amazing and really funny

matt IS exandria. his characters and battles never feel written or constructed, they just feel like things that already existed in the world. it's all about verisimilitude with him, and he's amazing at it. he tends to fade into the background and let the players react to the story and it makes everything he does incredibly cinematic

aabria dms like she's just another player at the table reacting to the story, right up until someone gets lulled into a false sense of security and tries to fool around and THEN she throws a curveball by making them deal with the consequences of their choices. she's like oh you think that's funny?? then i'm about to be hilarious, bitch. and she keeps getting away with it bc she's just that good!

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.

But I like the idea of the phantom world being reincarnated into very unexpected people.

Like I still love the idea of Danny being Martha or Thomas.

Or Dani being another clone, or her being Damian, and Sam being Poison Ivy and or Martha, etc.

But I also like the unhinged nonsense of Sam being a clone in the dc world — ideally Kon, and Dani (or Dan) being Bruce, while Vlad is gasp Thomas Wayne.

And on the other hand, can you imagine Bruce’s reaction?
