Hello again :),
It is finally finished, and I am so happy to receive all your replies to my WIP Post.
As I had shown you before, for this month, I was working on a Bedroom Set and created a walk-in wardrobe, too. This collection consists of 36 items.
I based The whole Soho Set around a loft apartment, and I was thinking of a bedroom that could be built into an open space. Of course, I wanted to create modern items, but there are slight retro and Art Deco hints, mainly through patterns and backdrops. I thought it was time to make new bedding; I got a bit bored of the Berlin and Fayun ones :D. you can combine it with a separate bed base and a headboard with plug details. For the 'Livin Rum', I created a wooden Eames chair; for this collection, I made the metal frame version and added a bedside table in a similar style.
As mentioned, I added a modular walk-in wardrobe with four shelves. I added 16 different garments, three luxury handbags inspired by Louis Vuitton, Bottega Veneta, and Hermès. There are lots of customizing options. You can either place those items into the open space and cover them with mirror walls or against a wall.
This Set is on Early Access and will be released at the beginning of July. and you can find it here
A small gimmick: I bought a Cardboard VR Goggle because I created 3D images of my travels and tried the same stereoscopic technique with my sims interiors, and it worked; the sims look so so cute in actual 3D :D, in case you have VR glasses I wanted to share my Promo images in 3D too if you concentrate on the pictures you can also see them in 3D without goggles :)
Tumblr media
This is the second to last iteration, and I will work on a Living collection for the coming month.
I hope you like the new items. Again, thank you so much for everything!!!
Lots of Love,
Felix xxx

santa baby * ls2
Tumblr media
it's never fun feeling like an outsider, so you'd sworn that nobody would ever feel the way you did all those years ago
pairings: logan sargeant x platonic!femdriver
notes: hi i know i took forever to write this but uh what r u gonna do? ik u love me B)
| "wanna hang out?" | driver's parade | american burgers | american football | the thanksgiving incident | another williams adoptee | beating the heat | you’re embarrassing me | santa baby | the favourite driver | the situationship | it's nice to have a friend |
you hum, whirling around at the camera crew settling right by the front of the mercedes racing home. “ah, it’s that time of years again, isn’t it?”
“yes! are you excited?”
you nod with a smile as you see a box being pulled out of the cart they’ve been lugging around in the paddocks for the video. “have you seen the present? got any hints for me?”
“aw, we can’t do that,” she giggles. “where’s the fun in that?”
secret santa is the yearly affair that you find yourself looking forward to as the year progresses. it’s always the santa hat and the fun of guessing who’s gotten you what this year. what used to be a silly game of gag gifts when you first started out, is now an endearing event filled with thoughtful gifts that you keep on your shelf for years to come.
last year, max had gotten your name. he is very thoughtful with his presents. his present sits at the top of your shelf: a paper mache trophy he admitted that he made with penelope (you’ve met her and she loves you) deeming you his toughest competitor in 2022.
you’re curious to see who drew your name this year.
“oh! do i get to keep this one?” you giggle as she hands you a santa hat. you pull it over your head snuggly and clap your hands. “where is it?”
“here.”
a box is handed to you, wrapped neatly in a mercedes green paper. you squeal as you take it into your hands and carefully unwrap it. there is something about wrapping paper that is so incredibly delicate and worth keeping.
you carefully tear at the tape holding the seams and edges of the box.
“any guesses who it could be right off the bat?”
“it could be anyone at this point,” you sigh, shaking your head. “could it be max again? hopefully it’s not charles — who knows what he will give me.” you look up to the camera. “in secret santa terms, of course. he is actually a good gift giver.”
you tear off the wrapping paper, folding it up neatly before pinning it between your body and elbow. “okay. truth time.”
you pull the cover off the box and tilt your head at the array of presents sitting comfortably in mercedes’ coloured confetti.
“what did you get?”
“a ‘best mum’ mug?” you say, coming out in a slight question as you lift up the pastel green mug to the camera. “am i pregnant and somehow it’s passed me?”
you hear a chorus of laughter as you venture further, each of the presents somehow getting weirder by the second. “and a christmas card? seriously?”
you graze your fingers over the 3d design on the card with a small smile, reading ‘merry christmas!’ with a cute doodle of a christmas tree in the centre. “we’ve been instructed to tell you to read that after you get all the presents and guess him correctly.”
your eyes trail to the gold plate in the shape of a star.
“another trophy!” you shriek. you squint your eyes to read the inscription on the plate. you sigh and press your lips together into a thin line. you hold it up. “best grid mum. the spelling alone gives it away!”
you step forward and let the camera zoom into it, the inscription reading “best grid mom”. “logan’s my secret santa?”
“ah, rookie mistake with the spelling there, wasn’t it?” she laughs. “there’s one more gift. he told us to give it to you when you figure it out.”
somebody else reaches out with a frame in their hands. you take it into your hands and smile, a picture of you and logan sitting right outside the mercedes home together for lunch sits tightly behind the glass.
“this is so sweet!” you coo, one hand covering your red cheeks. “do you want me to read the card?” she nods. you open the folded card and read as you speak. “thanks for welcoming me this year to the grid. you’re the best ever. hope i get to race with you longer than just this season. love, your secret santa.”
you look up as tears well in your eyes, looking into the camera. “aw, you’re the sweetest, logan. don’t worry, i’ve already got a present for him this christmas.”
you point to the lens of the camera. “can i grab this thing real quick for dramatic effect?” he nods. you grab the frame of the lens and take a step forward. “james vowles, if you do not re-sign logan hunter sargeant, i know where to find you.”

oikawa tooru big fan of puzzles. thinking about how dedicated he is to his craft like he works so hard to be good at what he does he opens a puzzle and locks tf in. pieces scattered across the table his formula is corners first then all the edges he builds the frame then he starts at the bottom and works up. if any of the pieces come stuck together he breaks them apart immediately and mixes them in he does not take shortcuts he likes a challenge. they completely consume him like hyperfocus to the max once he starts he can’t stop glasses on hunched over the table puzzling away. he generally doesn’t keep them once he’s finished he lets it sit for a bit takes a picture for his records then disassembly begins with little to no fanfare he doesn’t really need people to know (unless it’s a BIG puzzle then it goes on his instagram story) it’s just something he does for him he can focus for a while it gives him a sense of accomplishment and he stretches really well afterward. his favorites are pictures of places like scenic shots of nature or cities and puzzles of famous artworks like monet or van gogh or hokusai but if a puzzle comes into his possession he’s doing it at some point no matter what the picture is.
hanamaki takahiro never finished puzzles. he likes them in theory and is super excited to start them but gets bored or distracted within an hour and walks away. he works on them intermittently for a week or so while they sit and collect dust and are inevitably put away before they get finished. his attention span just isn’t long enough anything more than 50 pieces isn’t getting done. the only ones he ever finishes are the 3d like moving puzzles with the ridged pieces the ones that hurt to look at they’re usually less pieces and he likes the texture and they’re stupid pictures he completes them and picks them up of the table then crumples them apart. he really likes the idea of puzzles just doesn’t usually like them in practice, they’re too time consuming need too much focus and he’s a busy man with too much other shit to get into.
matsukawa issei is not a fan of puzzles. like he’ll help put together a piece or two if someone else is working on one but will never go out of his way to assemble a puzzle like he doesn’t care they’re not his thing he’s bored already. however he is a big fan of brain teaser/fidget puzzles like wooden puzzle cubes and puzzle boxes and metal knot things. he knows how to solve a rubik’s cube can do it in under 2 minutes no biggie he doesn’t even own one himself he just goes “can i try” whenever he sees one and flies through it. he can even solve one with his eyes closed just looks at it for a minute shuts his eyes boom solved. all these give him something to do with his hands conventional puzzles are too much sitting still and looking he needs to fidget or straight up not move none of this half and half nonsense.
iwaizumi hajime completely impartial when it comes to puzzles. he’ll help oikawa on one if he’s asked to but never seeks puzzles out he gets the appeal they’re just not for him personally. he saw a comic book puzzle one time that was really cool but that’s the extent of his interest tbh. iwaizumi isn’t a huge fan of sit down activities that aren’t competitive (anti puzzle pro video game) but as nerdy as it sounds has always been a fan of reading . graphic novels real books even the newspaper something about it is engaging and relaxing enough at the same time for him to sit still for an extended period of time. middle aged married iwaoi on weekends tooru does a puzzle at the table while hajime sits on the couch and reads a book they’re both wearing glasses they take a break at 2pm to take a nap together and go on a walk then are back at it by 4.

Joker,Akechi,Futaba,Haru x GN!Reader
You made a doll out of them, time to make them think they're one with it
N: I need those idv skins bro every ask is 5 bucks/heavy j. This post shall multiply my luck by 10 fold no 100 fold!!! I WILL GET FUTABA I WILL GET HARU I WILL GET FUTABA I WILL GET HARU RAAAAA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"That doesn't look like me" you pick up the doll and widen it's arms "where my hug at?" Imatating his voice, he goes to wipe his eyes, hitting his glasses, yet still doing the gesture. "Son?"
He would smush his face, twiddle with its hair, all the gestures you'd do to him. "Is my face really this smushable?" He pinches the cheeks of the doll. "Yea" you pinch his actual cheeks
He'd actually treat it like his son. "Why are you doing his laundry?" The doll stares at you with a towels wrapped around its head and waist it's clothes swashing around in a small kids washing machine. "Where did you even get that?" "A friend sent me an address on where to find em" it's silent as you watch the washing machine whirr. "Sooo" "soon I'll teach how to do it himself" he goes to wipe his eyes, only to hit his glasses again and still going through with the gesture.
Don't make him new clothes...either of them. His first thoughts when you show him the dolls new outfit is ask where to find the human sized versions. "It's just clothes you already have" you put headphones around the dolls neck "I don't have those" you find them instantly showing them to him. ".." "you can match with him" he would send you pictures of him smiling wider than a cartoon character with a matching outfit to the doll
Morgana would accidently talk to the poor doll instead of him. "He's so werid right mini joker?" The doll stares into oblivion "I know right" he'd have deep conversations with that doll, you accidently made Morgana a ride or die partner
Tumblr media
"How amusing" you show him the doll holding it up by its hands. "It's you" "it isn't it dosent have any physical resemblance to me" you look at the doll and look back at him. "I think this is your long lost good twin"
He'd stare at it if you weren't in the room. It's soulful little eyes it's little smile. "Akechi why are you in a roll of tape?" He turns thinking your speaking to him only to see you pull his imposter out of the tape.
He'd wouldn't interact with it much besides tying it to celling fans, eventually he did examine it. The attention to detail was top notch, the parting of his hair the details on his clothes. He caught himself smiling at these features. "I see you're growing fond of him" he almost throws it but instead hides it behind his back. "I don't know what you're talking about"
You can't be away from minikechi, the life sized one would bring pictures of you three. Either to use as proof as you mearly breathing near the doll, or because he misses you and the doll was just in frame. "I wasn't touching him" he smirks "really now?" "Yea really" he pulls out a picture of the doll falling on your face. "He fell on me that's gravity"
He's gonna open a seam at one point. Maybe a lot depending on the saw traps he gets put through. He takes this as an opportunity to try and learn how to sew. "Okay wear this" you place a thumb cap over his finger. "What's this?" "It's so you don't poke yourself" he'd take what he's learned from you fixing the doll and minor clothing repairs to "pay you back" by fixing torn things that could be fixed via stich. Would complain after and that's how you know he did it. "That took too long for just a few stitches" "don't use a whole wingspan worth of string next time"
Tumblr media
"NOOOOOOO" her scream of anguish would have vibrated the house "I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT" "right about what?" "REN SAID YOU CAME INTO HIS ROOM AT MIDNIGHT TO STEAL MY HAIR AND PUT IT IN A DOLL" "I wasn't there for your hair" "oh" "I was there for answers he forgot to send them to me so I put whipped cream on his hand"
She loves it, convinced to make it a tiny ufo. She'd look up a little too many paper 3d sites to make one, finally finding one and barely able to put it together, she had to call the one person she knew!! "INARI!!" "I'm a painter, I'm afraid I may only be able to help with design and not overall structure" he still comes over to help tho
UFO SET UP, mini futaba put in! Yusuke praising it to God, and the mini futaba totally not being held up by string so she doesn't stress out the paper (suggested by you) "it's cute" your famous last few words before seeing a white spot on the ufo "oh you missed a spot-" "INARI NO"
She'd try to make her own doll of you. "3d printing y/n!!" She giggles to herself as she stitches carefully around the dolls head, she's continue to hype herself up, and then come to leblank like a zombie
The doll replaces her at video calls. Sojiro calling? "Dolltaba speaking!" "Can you tell Ren to get up" "Okey doki!" Sojiro had to get used to it, not like he could tell her to stop either she just went harder taping a printed paper with her face onto the doll so she could keep using it for Webcams.
Tumblr media
"Really?" Her eyes widen when the doll looks at her. Touching its features. As long as she doesn't look down you can convince her the doll and her share consciousness
You'd catch her trying to tone her skills with it. "Haru?" "Yes?" "Why are you glaring at the doll like that?" "To practice my skills" she stares even harder at the mini haru. "You're gonna pop a vein" "all in a days work" without a secound of hesitation you speak up once again "are you trying to explode her with your mind?" Her eyes widen, her head nearly snapping to you and back at the doll staring even harder. "Alright that's enough no mind explosions" "but y/n!" "You don't have powers"
"Would you like tea?" The dolls 1000 yard stare answered for it l, you pouring it pretend tea. "Truely a spleaded tea party" "indeed" you both extend your pinkeys to a painful degree. You two would enjoy actual snacks while leaving nothing for a doll, this would sadden her. "We should buy doll food" "Haru her mouth is string how is she gonna eat?" "Are you familiar with the plastic food for kids toys?" Finally the doll could join in being an estimened guest
There's hair matienece..for both. At the same time. "You have more curls than a lala loopsey doll" you carefully comb its hair "I should stop using yarn" finish it up with a plastic hairclip that totally wasn't from a discount store and she'd nearly instantly ask for the same thing. She'd come to school with a diffrent sweater to match the hair pieces making Ryuji think she had been switched with ghost
The only person with a near perfect condition doll. Because she keeps mini haru in a case. "Haru I appreciate the fact you care to keep her clean, but she's being held hostage" "your right.." You sigh, thinking she's agreed with you. "I'll need to buy her a home!" Your eyes shoot open, too late now you're already assembling mini Haru her own home. Atleast she lives rent-free

This was my first experiment with adding texture/3d elements to my watercolor paintings... It's certainly not what I initially planned/pictured in my head (does anyone else see the heart as an avocado?) but I think I still like it anyway.
Side note, anyone have tips/resources for properly preserving/storing watercolor paintings? I don't really want to frame everything behind glass (I think I've read that's what I'm supposed to do?) but I also don't want my nicer pieces to get damaged by just laying around with no protection.

The Beauty of Personalized 3D Crystal Photo Frames in the UK
Tumblr media
The need for distinctive and customized mementos has increased dramatically in a society where memories are treasured. Personalized 3D crystal photo frames are a standout choice among the many available options since they are elegant and stunning keepsakes that beautifully capture special occasions.
In the UK, personalized photo crystals—also referred to as 3D picture frame glass—have grown in popularity. These amazing works of art are a fascinating way to showcase priceless memories since they combine technology and craftsmanship. These crystals become three-dimensional pieces of art with the use of laser etching technology, giving images a life of their own that ordinary frames cannot equal.
Personalized 3D crystal picture frames are appealing because they may preserve the spirit of a moment in a material form. These crystals give a special method to preserve and highlight the beauty of life's most treasured moments, whether it's a wedding, graduation, birth, or any other milestone.
The adaptability of bespoke 3D crystal picture frames is one of their most alluring features. Any occasion, including corporate gatherings, memorial services, and anniversaries, can have them tailored to fit your needs. These gems may be personalized with names, dates, and heartfelt inscriptions, making them an ideal and considerate present for any recipient.
Tumblr media
The blending of art and technology in the process of making personalized 3D crystal photo frames is interesting. Expert craftspeople carefully engrave a 2D image into the crystal using cutting-edge laser etching techniques, turning it into a breathtaking 3D work of art. These crystals have an amazing amount of detail and realism, which makes them a captivating center point in any space.
The possibilities are practically endless when it comes to personalized 3D crystal photo frames in the UK. These gems are available in a range of sizes and styles to accommodate every choice, from classic rectangular shapes to heart-shaped patterns. Whether placed on a shelf, desk, or mantelpiece, beautiful crystals give sophistication and sentimentality to any area.
The potential of custom 3D crystal photo frames to arouse emotion and leave a lasting impression has driven up demand for them in the UK. These crystals, as opposed to conventional picture frames, provide a distinctive method to display photos, turning them into eye-catching works of art that captivate the heart and the eye.
To sum up, customized 3D crystal picture frames have become a popular option for remembering life's most priceless experiences. These crystals provide a distinctive and tasteful approach to save memories because of their capacity to turn photos into engrossing 3D works of art. Because of their sentimental value and timeless appeal, personalized 3D crystal photo frames are becoming increasingly popular in the UK and are a treasured remembrance for any occasion. Apple Vision Pro: Reality Restyled, World goes Mad.
The tech world has gone berserk since Apple’s “Apple Vision Pro”, its first stab at spatial computing, was introduced. This ultra-modern virtual reality headset surpasses the boundaries of that very concept presenting a near invariant convergence between digital and non material. Let us look into the characteristics that have fired up this frenzy, exposing how it operates, its dazzling layout as well as what technological advances is driving all of these.
Tumblr media
How it Works: Notably, Apple Vision Pro does not just cast an image onto your eyes it generates a realistic three-dimensional feeling. It, with the aid of innovative LiDAR technology and depth sensors maps around you in real time embedding digital elements within physical reality. Picture playing a game of chess on an augmented coffee table that leaps into the depths, or joining coworkers from all over the world in real time inside shared virtual space. The possibilities are mind-boggling.
Design that Dazzles: The so-called ‘high art’ brand that is Apple has not failed in terms of form factor as Vision Pro proves, which you can read below. The frame is lightweight aluminum that curves ergonomically around your face, a single piece of laminated glass functions as the lens housing all intricate technology inside. The available modular parts necessitate a comfortable fit for varietal heads. It’s just one of many demonstrations as to Apple pays with its quality designs which merge function and form.
Tumblr media
Technology Powerhouse: The dual-chip architecture has driven this wonder. The M2 chip well known from Apple’s latest devices packs phenomenal processing power whilst the R1 is a breakthrough solution which focuses on sensor data, eliminating lag. This combined power in other words gives smooth and into reality real experiences without trembling neither with lags of some timely moments.
Tumblr media
Craze Unfolding: This is a crowd of people waiting for the future to see, powered by Apple’s image as innovators and somehow hoping Vision Pro. Players expect to immerse themselves in hyper-realistic realms, creative professionals imagine unmatched collaboration tools and casual users dream about the ability to step into their dear movie or even memory reeling, pulsating is 3D. This isn’t just a device; it is a new paradigm in human-computer interaction.
Privacy Concerns: However even during the heights of excitement, there remains a cloud in privacy concerns. The dimension of questions about data collection and use also surrounds the Headset functionality to track your gaze and mapping it, besides identifying where you are. Apple requires user control and transparency, but trust has to be won; specifically for such a sensitive technology.
Tumblr media
However worrisome, the Apple Vision Pro is a giant leap. It is more than a poshlost headset: it unlocks the doors of an entirely new age to computing where real and virtual fuse together. Whether it lives up to the hype remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Apple Vision Pro has set ablaze the world and everyone waits with great anticipation.

Hello you articulate anteaters!
I’ve watched three more of the seminars including Composition, Visualising Time and Moving Images.
Moving Images started with some basic considerations when animating anything. These include scale, colour, sound, tone, points of interest, pacing, colour, movement and contrast. I found the first half of the seminar to be pretty basic in what information was explored.
I was more interested in looking at some of the most basic forms of animation including the thaumatrope, phenakistiscope and the zoetrope.
The thaumatrope is essentially some card pierced by a string or a skewer of some kind that then spins the card around creating a two frame animation for each side of the card. Something to keep in mind is that the images have to be upside down to each other so that the animation runs smoothly.
Tumblr media
The phenakistiscope created by Joseph Antoine Ferdinand Plateau around 200 years ago consists of 12-16 frames where two discs spin with images on them.
Tumblr media
The zoetrope is an animation looping toy made up of sequential images made to loop, ideal for things like a walking cycle. Edward Moybridge (a photographer) took pictures of many different looping movement cycles such as horses running.
Tumblr media
An example of a zoetrope can be seen in Matt Collishaw’s All Things Fall. 3D printed, this piece is extremely elaborate in its storytelling with many little details, and uses the arches of its construction to divide the frames. Without moving it can simply be viewed as a sculpture.
Tumblr media
We also looked at two artists that I thought were really cool.
Aleksandr Petrov created a stunning animation from painting on glass. I just love how painterly and almost hypnotising the effects of animated paint can look like.
youtube
William Kentridge used charcoal in his animation Pain & Sympathy. It really brings the gritty nature and almost horror element into the grim tone of his work. Charcoal also lends itself well to animation with how quickly it can be erased and manipulated.
Tumblr media
In the Composition Seminar we kind of just looked at the basic principles and elements of composition. The only principle I didn’t really know of before or forgot about was coherence, which is essentially grabbing the viewers attention using narrative.
Tumblr media
I’m not personally a fan of text in my work so perhaps that’s why I never quite paid attention to it.
The golden ratio or mean was another thing I learned a bit about here. Although I admit the maths part confuses me a lot it is basically a more complicated rule of thirds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Visualising Time Seminar presented a bunch of artists who used time in their pieces. One of them relates to how tension is used in composition. Fischli Weiss almost captures the moment in time before something collapses by balancing objects on top of one another.
Tumblr media
Robert Lango’s Men in Cities consisted of charcoal drawings of his friends who were photographed in different poses of movement.
Tumblr media
I also just really liked Anna and Bernhardt’s Kitchen Frenzy just because of how manic yet playful the tone is set with the movement in their five pictures.
In William Wegmen’s work his work cannot be understood without the title of it being revealed
This can be seen in his “For a moment he forgot where he was and jumped into the ocean.”

Sick Call for Healer 3
After two failed tries, Raphael finally managed to turn the doorknob. And then started to climb the stairs behind the door. The walls were… painted. Creative, in a way, certainly full of birds. In trees, bushes and other greenery.
Certainly not done by someone with much expertise in the matter. Simply glancing at them, the creatures were anatomically correct. But had no sense of artistry.
It looked like a sketchbook on a wall. Unfinished.
Quite a few different species, sometimes with annotations for proper identification or close ups of wings. On a wall.
The hungry-looking cardinal over the door on the upper floor was something else.
Asmodeus certainly had enough time to look at everything, since his ‘host’ was moving in a bit of a snails pace, holding up a finger to take a break, leaning against a wall.
This angel certainly was not healthy. And definitely had a fever, judging by the temperature she emitted alone. The second door was opened in one try. And they stumbled into… a room.
It had high ceilings, plants crawled up the walls, the whole ceiling was made of glass. It already felt cold just seeing it. It was cool, too.
At least there was a sofa on the side of the room. Clutter-free except for pillows and a blanket. A perfect place to deposit an ailing angel with a desperate need to sit down. He gently led her down to she cushions and sat down next to her, made sure she had a blanket to curl up in.
With a confused expression, she did take the blanket and wrapped herself in it, legs pulled up against her chest. The shoes fell on the floor sometime later.
Raphael might be able to talk a little bit later. Which presented an opportunity to observe… the room. The pull-out couch – facing a TV and some electronics - was the only place clutter-free. The room was not untidy – everything seemed to have a place. But apparently Raphael had hobbies.
The couch table was filled with half-filled journals, magazines and…a laminator. The first shelf was dedicated to textiles with a sewing machine, countless needles, a miniature loom (of all things), enough wool to produce several quilts, many unfinished projects – and quite a few finished ones. The next shelf? All kinds of artistic material – pencils, coal, acrylics, watercolours, canvases, scraps, scissors, glue. Next up: Pottery, airdrying plasticine. Funnily enough, he also spotted a 3D printer. It made him smirk. But there were lot of painted figurines next to it. The next shelf was filled with so many books. With annotations… Several pieces of sports equipment… something like a greenhouse…  and that was only what he spotted at first glance.
And then there were other rooms – one actually had a door. It went into a laboratory, she had said something along the lines. The other rooms simply had no doors. One was a bathroom, at least the tiles said so. One was a bedroom, at least according to the many pillows strewn about…
No kitchen.
A light cough next to him brought the attention back to the angel, she looked intensely miserable and said: “I… did not realize that letting you in… means you see this place.” She blinked slowly, looking very unhappy with herself. “It’s… it’s not for visitors.”
Asmodeus looked at her, looked at the mixture of certainly well used equipment all around them and chuckled: “The couch is big enough for two, is it not?”
Some tension left her already weak frame.
“Are you going to paint the walls in here, too?” They currently were still white.
And just like that, she relaxed completely, looking feverish, but more like her usual wide-eyed self and said: “Wanted to get… better before. Got distracted. I’m better with music than with pictures.” She coughed into the blanket, groaned and put her head on her knees.
“Well, time for soup”

DIY treasure hunting: keys
Tumblr media
Project by Kate Pruitt:
I’m so very excited to introduce Treasure Hunting, a new monthly column for DIY Wednesdays. If you’re like me, you can often be found browsing the aisles of thrift shops, scouring the tables at flea markets or haggling over prices at yard sales. Sometimes you inherit a random item unexpectedly, or perhaps you walk past give-away piles on the street and feel an involuntary cringe over the wasted possibilities. This column stems from those experiences and from a love of objects and their formal properties.
I’m not advocating aggressive hoarding habits by any means, but there are some seemingly mundane, disposable, obsolete objects in the world that are not entirely without merit. Treasure Hunting will take these objects and find a way to make them wonderful again, through their visual impact as a collection or their value as a new and improved functional or decorative item.
The first post is about old keys. The key is a pretty standard tool that we all own, but as a design object, it’s spectacular. The possibilities for using keys in interesting and beautiful ways are endless, so forgive the length of this initial post; they won’t all be this lengthy, I promise. I hope you enjoy the new column and stay tuned for all the treasures yet to come! — Kate

Nothing combines form and function quite like a key. Their beautifully peculiar notches and curves are not just for decoration; the shapes are dictated by the maze of gates inside their corresponding door lock. Maybe if I studied locksmithing a bit, the process would be demystified but as it stands now, keys are magical. They certainly look magical. With a humble purpose, low price point and everyday availability, keys are an untapped resource for creating a captivating home display.

Hanging Composition This style of loosely composed objects as wall décor seems so effortlessly chic to me. I love how it catches the eye, and then allows it to wander off the composition. The beauty is not only in the overall visual impact of the varied shapes and sizes. It’s also in the details you can only see close up, the intricacies and history behind each rusted or labeled key. Another benefit to this display is that you can add to it as time goes on, enriching it with an ongoing collection of pieces found here and there.
How to Get the Look
1. A successful composition can be loose and organically shaped, or rigid and linear. First, measure the size of the wall space you have.
2. Tape off the dimension on the floor so you can roughly plan out a composition to see if it works and to give you an idea of the spacing you need.
3. Begin hanging the keys on the wall using a hammer and small picture-hanging nails or brads. These will cause minimal damage and allow you to make a few adjustments without causing any eyesores in your wall.
4. If you have trouble finding varied sizes or shapes of keys, consider drawing silhouettes of keys onto decorative paper, fabric or wood veneer and add them into the mix. The combination of 2D and 3D objects can be quite striking if there is a common shape that keeps them unified.
5. Carefully place your keys in the frame and replace the backing or glass, and it’s ready to hang!

Framed Key Art Sometimes quantity in a collection is unnecessary. I love the look of a single object or group of objects hovering in a frame. The focus given to a seemingly mundane object once it’s framed is mysterious and visually quite interesting. Placing a small collection of keys in to a framed wall piece is a quick and easy way to display the objects.
How to Get the Look
1. Find a frame or frames that will fit your key collection. If you want to have glass in the frame, you will need to use a shadow box or a frame deep enough to fit your keys. Paint or treat the frame if necessary.
2. Use a piece of cardboard, foam core or wood as the backing for your piece. Cut it to size, so it will fit perfectly within your frame.
3. Cover the backing with paper, linen or a fabric of your choice. Use spray adhesive to attach the paper or fabric to the backing.
4. Use small nails or tacks to hang the keys in place. If your keys are lightweight, you can choose to use a small dab of hot glue at the top of the back of the key to permanently set the keys in place. Remove any loose glue threads by blowing on them for a few seconds with a hairdryer.
5. Carefully place your keys in the frame and replace the backing or glass, and it’s ready to hang!

Loose Keys Keys are like little mysteries unto themselves, which is why they can be charming just on their own to give as present or wear as an accessory. You can personalize a plain key with paint, gold leaf, decoupage and other craft techniques, or you can simply use a beautiful antique key on its own — either way, keys are little treasures that make the perfect objet d’art.
How to Get the Look
1. You can fake the look of these beautiful cast porcelain keys by dipping real keys into plaster-of-Paris or thick white paint. First, bend a few paper clips open and hang them on a string to make drying hooks, and place a layer of newspaper or paper towel underneath the drying station.
2. Mix up the plaster-of-Paris or paint in a small bucket, ensuring you have enough liquid in the bucket to submerge the entire key. Give the key several coats, allowing it to dry between each coat. This will help achieve that thick, made-of-clay appearance.
3. Attach the key with a pretty ribbon to a gift, or string the key on a chain to create a lovely pendant.

I'm going insane having to take a break from drawing for a few days and so instead I'm going to just sorta Think really hard about an upcoming project: Bird Lamp.
The inspo image are these tables lamps
Tumblr media
which i think were made by lost wax casting that metal frame and then blowing a glob of glass into it. I'm also pretty certain these are candle lamps. which is cool but I'm already too much of a fire hazard for that.
So my plan to make these tiffany style is this:
First I'm going to make a hanging lamp instead of a desk one because I like hanging lamps. Also it's specifically going to be an eclectus, specifically Holly of @parrot-parent 's blog fame bc they have a lot of pictures of her i can use for reference and bc i have a fuck ton of red glass and Merlin's tail intimidates me. The goal is to get pretty close to the original, so her beak, eyes, tail and legs will all be cast. I'm not doing a full face cast bc eclectuses don't really have that look. I'm not sure of the pose yet
first step is to 3d model the bird, then use the paper craft blender extension to make a pattern to cut out of cardboard. I won't fully model up the parts that will be metal but I will prepare size reffos that can then be cut out bc i want practice with clay.
Make the cardboard mold. Fill that with spray foam and By God wear gloves. Fucking do it don't just skip gloves again.Youve regretted it every
sculpt the other bits and use the size guides and foam dummy as reference.
sand cast them and cast them in aluminum.
on the beak legs and tail, drill out the mounting holes and feed wire through them Use the wires to pin them to the model temporarily.
wrap the outside edge of the eye in copper tape so that it can be soldered in place with the glass.
draw on the dummy to plan out feathers, transfer to paper, cut and shape the glass to fit. make sure to leave space for the bulbs wire
once one section is done tape and solder in place before repeating the last step for the rest of the bird. leaving a large section that will be hidden un attached.
carefully dig out the foam.
take the wires from the metal bits and solder them down into the inside seams.
make the mounting bracket for the bulb and put it inside the bird. also figure out how to hang it and add additional inside supports if needed.
attach the section that was left off with a hinge and pin lock so you can add and replace the bulb later.
polish and tarnish everything
add the lamp kit and bulb
done.

AMD Task 2 : Research Animation Processes
1: Motion Capture
process of recording movement of objects or people
recording the actions of human actors and animating digital models in 2d or 3d animation
typically only focuses on movements of actors, not their visual appearance
I find this method very fascinating as it involves specialized technology to create cgi characters from the movements of an actor
Examples include
Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribean
Tumblr media
Special makeup was applied to actor Bill Nighy since the original plan was to use his real eyes in the digital character if necessary to get the proper lighting
youtube
2: Rotoscoping
trace over motion picture footage, frame by frame, to produce realistic action
originally animators projected photographes images onto a glass panel and traced over
it is often aided by motion tracking and onion skinning software
it is used often to create visual effects in live action films (example, the lightsabers in the original 3 star wars films were rotoscoped to give a glowing effect)
Example: Take On Me by A-Ha (1985)
the music video was created using the rotoscope technique
it consisted of pencil drawings in comic book style
approximately 3000 frames were rotoscoped and the project took 16 weeks to complete
youtube
3: 3D CGI Animation
CGI = computer generated imagery
can be used for designing characters virtual worlds scenes and special effects
objects are built on computer monitor and 3d figures are rigged with a virtual skeleton
all frames must be rendered after modelling is complete
Exampl : Tangled 2010
made using cgi
first disney princess film to be created using 3d animation
many of the techniques and tools required to give the quality desired did not exist when the project was stated and the studio had to create this themselves
