I really want to watch a mafia movie where it's based in a setting where smuggling is happening through a protected forest, and some big business is trying to get permits for logging there. Just have a whole movie where the mob is economically chained to eco-conscious environmentalism despite their MANY rivalries and enmity they bear towards leaders of those groups because that's where we run our drugs, Sully.

Just... The thought of a made man threatening a snitch with environmental management jargon... "You won't be sleeping with the fishes. Don't want any eutrophication goin' on in those spawning grounds- you know how much money the salmon runs bring this town? Enough to launder a LOT more, that's what. I've caught up, so no more Pentecost & Parker for me until the author writes more, but I'm a ride or die fan now. They got me. The sometimes-butch, sometimes-femme bisexual detective is in my bloodstream now.

I found this one a little annoying because of the important subplot being based on a pointless lie which always irks me, but I'll forgive it because the mystery part was so good.

You can tell pretty easily but they are not going to hurt you if you notice. Little Italy in Chicago was a high tourist area and they know that. People come there looking for people in the Mafia and they want to eat a places gangsters hung out.

I have seen one of them get approached by a giggling person saying 'are you in the Mafia? tehe!'*leg pop* and they will normally just smile and say 'the mafia doesn't exist' which is they saying ' yes absolutely'

Currently marinating in the character vibes —

Ongoing Shadowrun game. Been going for… half a year or so? I think? Anyway. My character is a street doctor and a committed pacifist.

For all the life-or-death magic/cyberpunk mercenary shenanigans we’ve gotten up to, the closest I’ve come to ‘joining the fight’ is I once threw a protein bar at a guy. I’m literally only a shadowrunner ‘cause I got caught up at the wrong place at the wrong time and got swept up into a found family by coincidence.

Then two weeks ago, I had to shoot a friend in the leg. He was not in his right mind at the time and was going to kill a mutual friend, so somebody had to stop him. The damage was easily fixed and injuring him prevented further harm — but still. I am a doctor. I took an oath.

But now. Now.

I’m a street doc, but I’ve been running around with these mercenaries. I haven’t been walking my beats to check up on my people — my downtrodden folks who can’t afford proper healthcare.

And I just found out that someone’s been poisoning them while I’ve been away.

I am a street doctor and a committed pacifist, but the last line outta my mouth before we cut stream yesterday—

“Hippocratic oath or not, when I find whoever’s behind this, They are Going to Burn.”
