i think a commom thread in the assassin’s creed games i like the best is how colourful they are (and if there’s a pirate ship) revelations is so so beautiful and so is black flag and unity and yeah no wonder i’m such a slut for those games i want to sit in my dark room and experience the thing only light can show
#i mean ac2 is my favourite hands down but for (insert 8 hour video essay) reasons#but idk playing black flag and unity especially is just so 🫶#i sometimes forget i have a mission because i’m just!!! oh!!! a thing#games with a sandbox feeling that are not open world do you get me??#i like how ac is like yeah the city is here but if you go to this area you get desynchronised because it’s not part of the memory#🥰🥰 lore-consistent game mechanics kissing her#cas plays assassin’s creed

assassin's creed is the call of duty of rpgs in the sense that each year you get a new game, but the worst thing is that they add a completely new massive map. like, i don't even want to imagine the crunch those employees must be suffering because of a series that should have finished 10 years ago
#it should have finished w ac rogue. maybe even w ac3 or black flag#syndicate and unity are in a kind of weird spot but at least they do feature the assassins#origins feels like its own thing? but at least it has a connection to the ac lore#but odyssey??? valhalla???? those feel like an entirely different thing and aren't even that good#mona.txt

anyway. i've put a fair amount of time (lmao) into hades 2 so far and these are my mostly coherent thoughts:
i think it's excellent so far, especially considering the game is still in early access so not quite finished yet. like i've come across some placeholder art and a couple of visual bugs, for example (though nothing gamebreaking like the release bugs of ac unity), and the devs say they're adding in more things like locations and characters as the year goes on.
as with the first game, i love the inclusion of lesser known deities. i love how accurate the game (as with the first) is to the original myth lore - the fact that zagreus was the protagonist, now melinoë, two deities who only have a couple of myths about them, are the main characters is amazing to me.
the character designs are incredible, too. the fact that aphrodite's design this time is aphrodite areia makes me so incredibly happy because that's my favourite aspect of her. i love the music yet again, and i love how some of the tracks from the first game make a reappearance.
genuinely, i just love the game and i'm really excited to see where the devs go next with it.
#the best thing of course is the cat i keep finding in erebus. i WILL bring the kitty back to the crossroads >:(#hades 2#hades ii#supergiant hades#hades 2 spoilers#hades ii spoilers#kinda? tagging just in case this counts as spoilery#*my wittering

Campaign Introduction: V2
It’s been ten months since I started writing down the events of this Dungeons & Dragons campaign and its most relevant lore, so I thought I would take another pass at doing the introduction! A lot has changed, and we’re a few sessions into the second arc, so now seems like a great time for a refresher!
This is YiMS (the party hasn’t named their ship/crew yet, so that’s just my shortening of Yeehaw in Magic Space). It’s a genre blend of a space western, classic fantasy, and light horror. It takes place after a galaxy-wide war of succession that fused itself together with several regional conflicts to become what was known as “The Long War”. Due to the galaxy’s unity under the centuries old Galactic Sovereign, and the difficulty of long-distance space travel, war seemed like it was becoming a thing of the past. That all changed when FTL technology was introduced for larger vessels, and the Sovereign died. The war that followed raged for thirty six years. Our story begins three years after that.
The universe is trying to make itself whole again: with nobles making moves to reclaim their thrones and prove their loyalty to the throne, independent worlds trying to find their footing, and everyone looking to the untamed frontier worlds at the edge of the galaxy in the hopes of expansion and quick wealth. The Long War was a period of struggle and devastation for all, but many are advertising the time after as an era of good fortune, exploration, and opportunity for all.
Many are fleeing further away from the Galactic Core in an effort to chase this phantom of success, while others hope to strengthen their grasp on what they already have. If one can get ahead of the vicious nobles, the newly emerging companies, and the strange arcane things that are rumored to lurk where society’s eyes have not yet turned, maybe they’ve got a chance of being someone worth talking about.
This campaign is heavily inspired by things such as: The Locked Tomb, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, and Darkest Dungeon. If that sounds interesting to you, there are already a good few sessions and lore drops on this account. So have fun exploring! Everything is tagged #yeehawinmagicspace , lore drops are tagged #loreinmagicspace , and each story arc will be tagged with its own unique tag. So far we have: #the barley arc and #the odd job arc , which is ongoing.
Also as a quick note, minors DNI! there is a lot of sex, violence, and other adult content in this campaign.
The Characters:
Dolly: Dolly is a Human Inquisitive Rogue. She is a former ace reporter who, after facing controversy for exchanging information and having affairs with famous outlaws, was run out of her old career. She now works for a tabloid that sells trashy stories and writes feel good stories the supposed prosperity of the “frontier age”. She does her best to maintain her passion for reporting and her strong sense of right and wrong, but as the world wears down on her, it remains difficult to make either a top priority. She now roams the stars trying to find herself and satisfy her endless curiosity, while also making every deadline set by her tabloid. One fun fact about Dolly is that with every job she takes on for the tabloid “Choice Information”, she is given a new scandalous outfit to wear, which means Dolly gets a lot of costume changes.
Chuck (former): Chuck is a Thri-Kreen Battle Smith Artificer who was once a member of the party. He had spent his life keeping his head down, taking steady work both legal and lightly illegal, and sharpening his skills as a mechanic. Before being dragged into an adventure after Dolly interviewed him and shit hit the fan. He recently left the party in pursuit of a new life helping the planet the party just liberated from the grip of a Bandit King. He hopes to repair houses, defeat the last remaining outlaws, and drive out the ghosts and ghouls that linger in the outskirts of the planet's humble towns. One fun fact about Chuck is that he travels with an automaton named MAC who serves as his assistant/bodyguard (though automatons lack intelligence, so it's just controlled by Chuck’s own psionic abilities).
Geraldine: Geraldine is a Human Battle Master Fighter. She is a young debutante from a solar system that claimed its independence towards the end of the long war. She didn’t find her passion in the accounting and logistics industry like her family had hoped, and instead fell in love with the romantic ideals of the wandering cowpoke. After training herself as a sharpshooter, she ran away from home with a healthy chunk of change and a naive, but loving heart in search of her own epic tale. She hopes to live a life like the ones featured in her favorite erotic novels “The Adventures of Michael Hawk”. One fun fact about Geraldine is that she briefly died at the end of the first arc, and that so far, no thrill has been able to match the one she felt during her resurrection, but she’s going to keep hunting for something that comes close.
Prometheus: Prometheus is a Human Great Old One Warlock. He is a wandering fugitive and con man who introduced himself to the party by attempting to con them out of all their money (and nearly succeeding in the case of Geraldine). He carries an old tome that apparently destroys the minds of every mortal who holds it for too long, which seems to grant him incredible power. He manipulates this dark power just as he does the people around him as he runs as far away from his past as possible, using the party as a set of human shields that he may or may not be developing care for. One fun fact about Prometheus is that he is the son of a great noble house. In an effort to disguise this fact, he takes on the persona of “Theodore Dynamis”, a snake-oil salesman with a much lower bounty than the one associated with his true name.
Blackjack (played by the person who was playing Chuck): Blackjack is a Human Profane Soul Blood Hunter. He is a bounty hunter who Chuck has hired to act as the party’s pilot and protector. The party doesn’t know much about Blackjack yet. Only that he suffered a mysterious injury in his past that landed him with several steel prosthetics replacing things such as his legs and lower jaw, and that he has some sort of command of flame and light. So far, he's been all business and action, so it's been impossible to get further information on any of these fascinating elements of his life. One fun fact about Blackjack is that he’s just here for the paycheck. Chuck forced him to promise not to involve the party in the dangerous elements of his past, and so he’s just here to fund his smoking habit and add a few more adventures to his resume.

Geats main 5 -> which yugioh decks they'd play*
*except i make questionable choices, and give each of them at least one of my own decks✨
Because i can never decide, I'm going to pick three decks for everyone, (excluding anime decks, since they're often closely connected to or even modelled after their canon players) and then proceed to defend my choices.
Under a read more because it ended up kinda long oops
Ace 🦊
Before you say 'the deck that's most meta at the time' consider: that's no fun. As the mc he has the talent to make even subpar decks work. Apart from these, i considered Magical Musketeer as well.
Very obvious, i know. Mayakashi is a deck based on yokai from Japanese folklore, who during the day don human disguises and deceive humans. In-game, they are a zombie archetype using the graveyard a lot, as their playmaker can repeatedly revive herself.
Mannadium/Visas Starfrost. This deck is part of a series i'll call '🌟visas lore🌟' decks. Lore-wise, Mannadium is about joy, reincarnation and unity while game-wise it works by destroying its own monsters to summon its boss. Visas Starfrost himself has composite forms not unlike a certain fox god.
...Listen... hear me out... So, Megalith is a ritual archetype, most of whose members are statues from which warriors emerge. Its monsters tribute themselves to summon the deck's bosses without needing ritual spell cards. Yeah, i have no excuse 😌
Now for the highlight a sneak peek. It has barely been out for a week in the OCG but from early info on the (unofficial names) Artmegia/Imprisoned Deity archetypes, well. Early lore details speak of an academy-nation drawing its magic power from an 'imprisoned deity'. Imprisoned deities are beings who live in a world outside of ours.
Below are two of the new cards, unofficially translated as "Artmegia the Academy City of Divine Arts" and "Nerva the Imprisoned Deity of Creation."
Keiwa 🦝
While there is a tanuki deck, it is very closely associated with the anime character using it. Outside of that, i thought of Rescue-Ace as well.
Another zombie arthetype, Shiranui are enemies with the Mayakashi in the lore, using a possessed blade to hunt them. After a fateful meeting between a Mayakashi and the heir to the Shiranui style, the two end up fighting each other. Fittingly, the deck's gameplay involves banishing zombies.
(🌟visas lore🌟) Tearlaments is a strong deck involving cards being sent to the graveyard for card advantage and to summon boss monsters. Behind the scenes, it is an archetype of sadness in whose lore people get brainwashed with grief. I rest my case.
I can see Keiwa playing the old Ninja cards as a child, but the modern Ninja archetype has been interesting to see. The aim of this deck is to not allow the opponent to build a board, or break their board, by flipping their monsters face-down, and the ninja members themselves often have flip effects (a little surprise, if you will).
Neon 🐱
Aside from these, the stray cats from zexal and the lunalights from arc-v would fit her theme.
Purrely is a good deck that uses spells cards and small cat-adjacent monsters to summon bigger and badder ones, but most importantly, the cards and their lore are full of fluff and cuteness! Very Neon TV brand archetype.
(🌟visas lore🌟) The opposite of cute, Scareclaw represents the emotion of fear, and has a lore in which the monsters are forced to fight so they can evolve. In-game, it works by utilising the defense position to strengthen itself and weaken the opponent. This gave me trouble but i think it makes sense with the way Neon got into the game and contrasts with her usual cute aesthetic.
Solfachord is a pendulum deck, if reportedly on the easier side to play, whose members are fairy-type monsters using magic playing music that purifies the worlds under their sky kingdom. Very pretty deck with music associations!
Michinaga 🐮
Is he a bull or a buffalo, this is important for my choices. Zombie pile/Zombie World control would also be cool.
Ragnaraika is a plant/insect/reptile deck that works by continuously getting more material to summon stronger monsters. Its nature means it can often be mixed with other archetypes, depending on which part of it you want to focus on. The visuals can be very jyamato Buffa at times...
(🌟visas lore🌟) If you know you know. Kashtira is a strong deck that wants to banish every single one of your opponent's cards. In the lore, it represents the emotion of anger. A straightforward deck to match Michinaga's straightforward approach.
Memento is a deck with fossil theming, as it brings back various old monsters, gives them new powers and unifies them in one archetype under the king of the underworld. Its gimmick is destroying its own monsters to activate various effects with the goal of bringing out its bosses. Regretfully, they are not zombies but i think it still works.
Tsumuri ♟️
If she plays regular cards i have faith they could peer pressure her into playing yugioh.
F.A. (Formula Athlete) is a racing deck of machine-type monsters, and includes many grand prix-related cards. The deck loves controlling its own levels to summon its bosses, and its playmaker (and only in-archetype tuner) is a navigator.
Icejade is a mostly defensive deck that aims to prevent the opponent's monsters from doing anything at all. In the lore, they are feminine humanoids made of a crystalline substance, all created by their queen. When icejades reach the end of their life, they are forged into swords (part of a greater lore). I feel like Tsumuri would like it, or am I just biased... 😅
Maliss, a very recently released Cyberse (digital beings, in the lore) archetype whose members are pawns and queens (in chess, pawns can become queens), based on the white and red queens of Lewis Carroll's works and computer malware. The deck loves banishing cards from both sides of the field. Honestly this artwork sold me even though i as always have ✨reservations✨ about the outfits.
Honourable mention:
Win -> Ghostrick, Symphonic Warriors, Shaddoll.
I am not explaining myself.
#file under 'posts with an audience of exactly one (1) person and that person is me'#i am flabbergasted to remember most of them are younger than the game#kamen rider geats#ukiyo ace#sakurai keiwa#kurama neon#azuma michinaga#tsumuri#hareruya win#my post#txt#geats ot4#yes i did the visas decks thing on purpose ^_^#biggest takeaway from this is now i am frothing at the mouth for more artmegia lore. and perhaps to play it. and maliss.

Oh let me explain the Templars and Assassins, in ac lore both groups were once the historical Hassassin order and Knight Templars, but they reform themselves into the shadows. But in this historical fiction they are order than their crusaders incarnations though only recently they learn the true history of their precursors
But there the batshit reason why ac can hop around history
https://youtu.be/mLSiKSrmLic?si=wR5TI_b0KTPAsQzY
Actually ac2 explained the whole Templars thing as the mc pointed out that he was taught the Templars were purged yet his brothers and father murderer and the pazzai conspirators were all Templars
Ac unity plays with that as the Templar historical purge and the French Revolution are connected in this game
https://youtu.be/sK0qr675wno?si=2KP7EyyaUHG1Ao4Q
They used the historical fact that Jacques de Maloy wanted to reform the order. Though in ac lore he wanted the Templars to return to the shadows
The assassins initated the infamous Templar purge manipulating the French king. Jacques allowed himself to be killed so his 9 most trusted agents could secretly rebuilt the Templar order in his image. Establishing the modern secret war the two orders are in
And for the Freemasons, it was established in ac2 they had pieces of Eden, and they shipped a apple of Eden to George Washington which each President had until “Jack” angered the Templars
Yes Dallas was a inside job and I give you 5 guesses which historical figure was a Templar in that mess
But ac writers stated the Freemasons were mainly a group of old guys, basically a third party. Both assassins and Templars joined the group too
Actually wasn’t a Benjamin Franklin a Freemason too? He had no idea of the secret conflict but was acquaintance with people from both orders
I know it historical fiction, but it open my eyes to stuff I didn’t know
Like how Edison and Morgan purposefully fucked over Telsa
Or how Edison and ford knew each other…all my life I thought they were like century apart. Until in a old discord server people showed me a picture of them together
And I realize that the writers used the historical fact that Ford used to work under Edison and the two became close friends hence why ford a Templar
I’m surprised there isn’t a movie-oooh right Ford’s antisemitism
Was there a spike in midwestern kool aid? Did Kanye get some of that too?!
Just saw this because tumblr is a functional website
This is a bit longer than I have time for
youtube
Skipping round looks cool tho
Actually ac2 explained the whole Templars thing as the mc pointed out that he was taught the Templars were purged yet his brothers and father murderer and the pazzai conspirators were all Templars Ac unity plays with that as the Templar historical purge and the French Revolution are connected in this game

Considering it was a French kind that got them hunted down (he owed them money and saying they worshiped the devil was cheaper) that works.

Jack Ruby??????? (guy that shot oswald)

Ahh Jackie Mason, makes sense with all the "to the moon" stuff, (jokes)

You remember Cudjoe Lewis, last surviving victim (in the US) of the dahomey and the atlantic slave trade that could remember what home was like, ya he lived to see the start of nazi germany dying in 1935.
Wyatt Earp consulted on early western films and gave tips to a young John Wayne, dying in 1929. Wild west hero got to live to see airplanes become a thing.
History is both longer and shorter than it seems at times.
I’m surprised there isn’t a movie-oooh right Ford’s antisemitism

Who Henry Ford never, next you'll tell me Charles Lindbergh promoted and endorsed nazi propaganda (he did)
Was there a spike in midwestern kool aid? Did Kanye get some of that too?!
not that it's an excuse of any sort but he is bipolar which could be the reason he keeps doing that shit, he's one I'm just done with everything but memeing them
He and candace owens can start something up, they're perfect for each other.

Okay so this has nothing to do with your writing at all (I’m sorry 😭) and feel free to ignore this if it’s just too random, but I’m truly so curious what other games besides BG3 you have potentially really loved and enjoyed? Do you have any favorite games of all time?? I’m just so curious about it because I *adore* your writing and I know that obviously the media we consume can influence us and inspire us, so I was just curious what games have perhaps had that kind of impact on you (if any).
Anyways, have a wonderful day!!!! 🤗
Omg no worries, don’t apologize! And thank you so much for reading and being so so kind!! 🥰
I would love to share my faves! 🥹 here are some in no particular order: (other than BG3 ofc!)
-Red Dead Redemption 2 - not a unique opinion by any means, but I think this was a masterpiece. The story is mostly realistic (emotionally speaking anyway), gritty, and incredibly well-written/acted. I am a big Rockstar Games girly because the amount of detail you find and freedom you have in their open worlds is just 🤯 it’s really a cinematic experience and it’s a visual and auditory triumph tbh. And the heavy moral lessons lingering in the background? Is it ever too late to be good and do good? Just 😮💨 perfection. This game is elite and idk if there’ll ever be a match for it.
- Mass Effect Trilogy - Commander Shepard is perhaps my fave video game protagonist ever (Jennifer Hale, the woman that you are 🥵). The fact that you get to spend an entire trilogy shaping her arc in a space soap opera/political drama/action flick??? It’s a story about tolerance, greed, technology and evolution, humanity, love….it has really deep writing at times, and it’s probably my fave sci-fi work ever, as well as one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had !! It was perfect, to me, despite glaring holes in the writing at times lol. And I don’t have faith in whatever’s coming next from this franchise ☺️
Dragon Age: Basically was always mass effect’s high fantasy equivalent, in my mind, sans the enjoyable process of getting to see the same protagonist again and again- which I didn’t mind! It hit all the high fantasy notes for me, and I really enjoyed the world building and the stories. BUT disclaimer- my opinion regarding the game is unpopular af lol. My personal ranking (best to worst): Inquisition, Origins, 2, and finally Veilguard- which I personally hated and don’t acknowledge as part of the franchise 😅 (just my opinion and I’m very happy for all who found joy in it!!)
-Dishonored 1 & 2: Some of the cleanest, most fluid, and most satisfying gameplay/combat I’ve ever seen. I loooove the mechanics, controls, and the story is dark/the worldbuilding is unique! 2 is extra special because playing as Emily is just 👌 There are limitless ways to execute missions- you could play the entire game unseen!! And the soundtrack is perfect and unsettling. I love this series a lot!! They just have a unique vibe and feel to them.
-Assassin’s Creed-: my relationship to this franchise is wild lol. I started when I was like 10?? I think?? The first one, while repetitive, is great for establishing the lore and introducing the concept. AC 2 and Brotherhood were the reeeally fun ones, IMO. I loved the story and was intrigued! Revelations marks the beginning of the end (for me!!! Not everyone else! Can’t stress this enough lol). The plot running parallel to the assassins just gets so convoluted beyond this point that I lost track and never cared to pick it back up. I played some afterwards: syndicate was meh, unity was meh, didn’t play again till the Greek one- and Kassandra was a wonderful breath of air! But story wise I just…never cared again 😅 take that as you will.
-Cyberpunk 2077-: smooth and fun gameplay (which I heard wasn’t always the case lol), and the story is ambitious as hell. Really neat concepts, relevant criticism of capitalist rot and USA in general, steamy romances, and great VA. If I wanted to write a sci-fi novel (which I eventually do!) I think I’d look to cyberpunk for some cues. It felt really unique and fresh to me!
-Witcher 3-: I’m a fake fan and jumped on the third game bandwagon but it was SO fun and satisfying, no regrets! Story is rich, characters are well acted and deep, and it was instantly likable.
-Skyrim-: I really feel this one is self explanatory lol. I will say that I lean slightly towards RPGs that are fully active/have a VA for the protag, but this is the golden exception, isn’t it? I never played oblivion or any of the others so I am in fact a poser but this was my JAM back in the day lol
-Starfield- Despite the controversy, I did enjoy the game and it opened up so many doors for me in terms of writing and developing an OC within the universe. I liked the characters, the plot, the nods to science, and felt it was a great sandbox for a writer to really play with. It’s as beautiful as you make it.
Honorable mentions: Telltale’s The Walking Dead (far superior to the show imo), Clair Obscur (haven’t made a dent yet but the music and visuals are stunning!!!), L.A. Noire (cool plot and really good soundtrack), GTA V, Unraveled, Until Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima, Detroit, bunch of multiplayer games like CoD, etc.
#I hope this isn’t disappointing 😅#I never really got into a couple of games#TLOU and HZD being two prime examples#I have no idea why#but hey I’m always open to recs!!#thank you for asking 🥹#I feel I’m missing some big ones but 🤷🏻♀️#ask#anonymous

Hello! I saw your post about Assassin's Creed and wanted to ask more. I was a fan of the series too in its early days for the exact reasons you describe: the meta story, lore, and cultural touches that tended to feel so very real. I fell out after ACIII and after the series emerged from the Unity debacle was told that they'd abandoned (or at least back-seated) those elements.
To hear they've survived in some form is encouraging, but what are your thoughts on the meta story since then? Is it worth giving the series a shot or like you said just an endless trail of breadcrumbs?
So, I think the series started going downhill in AC Origins when they introduced leveling and other RPG mechanics. To me, that was the turning point when the games shifted away from the classic formula in order to chase broader appeal and more aggressive monetization strategies.
Despite this downshift, for me every single title that I've played has had at least some redeeming features that made it worth it.
If you haven't played it, AC IV is actually one of my favorite of the series. That one is well worth a playthrough and I can recommend it without reservation. Fun gameplay, interesting story in both the past and future narratives, and stunning setting.
AC Rogue is also an underrated title that does a lot of interesting things with its story and better fleshes out the dark side of the Assassins and why someone might choose the Templars over them. And if you like the gameplay of IV, it's all the same here (though the setting is mostly frozen northern seas instead of the glorious Caribbean).
AC Syndicate is not as good in general, but does implement some nice features. It's the first (major) title with a playable woman protagonist, and the free running gets a refreshed feeling from updates to the setting. Like, they introduced major traffic in this one (moving trains, carriages and boats on the Thames) and once you get used to it it adds an interesting element to navigating around the setting. Plus your homebase is a train, and I think that's really nifty! And the DLC is pretty good. No really huge plot revelations, but the modern day assassins get better characterized.
AC Origins is another downshift (like I said, they introduce levelling and RPG elements here). I like the main character(s), but honestly, if you're looking for one to skip, I'd probably skip this one. The gameplay is meh and the story doesn't introduce much that is interesting. It's supposed to be about how the Assassins started as an organization, but there aren't really any stunning revelations here. It's more of a personal tale of one man seeking justice for his child. Also, the new modern day protagonist, Layla Hassan, is not very likeable IMO.
AC Odyssey is very similar to Origins, and it's just such a bloated game. It's soooo big. And more action focused. BUT it does introduce a major interesting plot element that I won't spoil here and you also learn a lot more about the Isu. Layla gets even less likeable.
And you've read my review of Valhalla. Layla is still the modern day protagonist, but she's at least getting a little more relatable. I haven't finished it yet, so I can't give my complete impressions. I'm certainly hopeful that I'll learn more about modern day factions within the Templar order and maybe some more about the origins of humanity itself, but that remains to be seen.

Assassin's Creed - Unity: Initiate OCs

Heyo everyone! You know how AC Unity has a co-op campaign where you can play with up to 3 other players? But lore-wise, none of those players are necessarily Arno, despite it being his same model, because the campaign happens parallel to the main story. They’re just called Initiates.
Well, I decided to make those up to four nameless Initiates into fully fledged OCs.
This drawing is already a couple weeks old. I've since tweaked their outfits and their heights. But not by much.
Under the cut, you can get to know my children. I will post their backstories separately as well later.
Étienne Castellane-Adrian - Noble
Clement Castellane-Adrian - Noble
Cristine Cabrol - Citizen (middle class)
Laurence Lamarche - Citizen (poor)
-
Cristine and Clement are dating.
Clement and Étienne are brothers.
Étienne is gay, Laurence is bi.
Laurence has Eagle Vision and is biracial.
According to the game mechanics they all should have Eagle Vision. But I'm not going with those mechanics, (for realism, since EV is supposed to be rare,) so only Laurence has it.
They all got inducted at 18 years old. Étienne in 1787, Laurence and Clement in 1788, and Cristine in 1789, just a few months before Arno.
Étienne is the veteran of the team, and therefore the leader, due to having more experience, though his brother Clement competes for the title. Cristine is still a Novice (hasn't done her first Assassination yet).
-
Étienne is gentle and introverted, quiet by nature. Best one at light step and strategy. Admires Clement for being able to lie so well, but still thinks himself the better leader. Wants to run for Master Assassin, by teaching Cristine and Laurence.
Clement is the best at listening, remembering and manipulation. He can be a little rash, but his impulsiveness makes up for Étienne's prudence, and together they balance it out quite well while on missions.
Cristine is the best at disguises, distractions and trespassing. Étienne taught her about noblewoman customs and etiquette, and sometimes she and Clement infiltrate balls and official buildings as a pair. Cristine distracts while Clement uncovers the secrets. This is how they developed feelings for each other.
Laurence is the odd one out of the group. He has Eagle Vision, which is the only thing that balances well with the rest of them. Is good at finding hidden routes for entering and exiting their assignments. Mostly follow orders, without much independent thinking. Étienne is trying to teach him to work better within the team.

What'cha playing video game wise, Jaz?
Need to finish AC Valhalla but I'm having a hard time staying on track. I got Sigurd back and he's a bag of dicks and I knooooooow it ties into the story and I knoooooooow being a bag of dicks after being tortured for weeks (months? unclear how much time has passed) is a pretty normal trauma response but also. Currently he's a jerk and Eivor's dedication to him while he's being a jerk is admirable but I can't relate. The game is fun but the story right now is not particularly rewarding. I don't like doing a lot of work and bringing it to someone only for them to throw it in my face and tell me I'll never be good enough. So I don't really like where I am in the plot atm.
So instead of being mad at Sigurd all the time, I'm playing Harvestella and working on finishing that. Truly it did not deserve the wankfest made about it when it first came out. I will say having gotten much farther, it's less "final fantasy meets stardew valley" which I think set a lot of people up for expectations that would absolutely not be met. It's more "Nier series with some farming/gathering elements" and even makes more than a few heavyhanded Nier Automata references. People (myself included) saw SquareEnix on the cover and assumed Final Fantasy and I think that was overall detrimental to its reception because it's very not a FF game but it's probably as close to a Yoko Taro game as you can get without having him on staff. I've been a fan of his stuff since the original Drakengard so I'm fine with that but his stuff is *weird* and often weird in really unexpected ways, so if you're not expecting that out the gate it can be a pretty big shock.
I am still not sure if I want to actually play FFVII Evercrisis- I'm interested in the additions to the overall lore and plot and I like the convenience of having the full compilation in one easy-to-access location (including supposedly a few Japan-only entries I never actually got ahold of) but at the same time the demo was pretty micro-transation-y and as a general rule I hate gacha systems especially when they rely on real money to use. First Soldier was one thing because the gacha stuff was mostly cosmetic, and you didn't need the gacha weapons or armor to win (as evidenced by my wins having spent 0 money on anything). But the Evercrisis demo had gacha items needed for progression which means inevitabily I'm going to hit a wall and not be able to progress the story without spending money, and I hate games that do this.
Once I'm done with Valhalla it'll be Elden Ring (thanks @khayr !) and then FFVII Rebirth will probably be out by the time I'm done with it, which I'll play to death I'm sure. I still have to play Horizon Forbidden West (thanks follower whose URL I can't find again) and then go back and play the additional content I have for KH3, Ghost of Tsushima, and the new update stuff for Ghostwire Tokyo... as well as various switch games I need to just finish already... oh and the new Y's is coming out soon and at some point I need to snag FFXVI... and then there's AC Mirage whenever that releases plus I'm really looking forward to Red and Jade... and besides I have to go back and actually finish Origins and start Odessey (and black flag, and rogue, and unity...)

I do think ac should end as a franchise because personally I haven't even finished the fucking first game because I'm so overwhelmed with all the games I gotta finish like stop releasing a game EVERY year??? Focus on your other titles?? I love ac because of the stories and the games are genuinely fun and I love history pieces but I REALLY think ubisoft can do history pieces without it being ac or even a game. Make it a fucking animated short like overwatch did if you REALLY must expand on lore. Ppl who say ac went to shit after 3/4 are dumb af tho. Uhm. Syndicate was a masterpiece, and don't you dare disrespect unity like that. But my point is those games have their place, and they're perfect (well. To an extent) there's no reason to remaster or release new games, ubisoft. STOP touching ac, leave my babies alone.... all this to say I'm not really excited for shadows. I mean, it's just a whole evie and jacob thing again (one character is stealth, other combat. Funny enough stealth is female and combat is male...where have we seen this before?) I just...I don't care anymore, ubisoft!! Let me cuddle up in a blanket and play syndicate and leave me ALONE. I feel like a shitty fan because I haven't even got my hands on Mirage, but Like I really don't care anymore cuz ubisoft needs to stop pumping out ac games like a fucking factory. They're just getting watered down.

Pixel's Bakugan AU masterlist thingy
I feel like I'm going to forget to update this- but just going to try and make a quick masterlist for my AUs
Catverse
Everyone is cat (or Dragons in the case of gundalians, and axolotls in the case of Neathians)
OLD Masterpost [OUTDATED, contains links to old designs + art]
NEW Maserlist [Contains links to designs and lore]
Multiverse Special
Hopefully I'll make this a fic, but as the name suggests, this is a story about multiverse shenanigans... though, it's mainly about two universes, the original and Alignment Shift
Alignment Shift and Collision Strife
Trial by Fire
TL;DR: Instead of getting the attribute energy, Mira gets cursed. Misery ensues-
Trial by Fire post
Unity AU
Bakugan but not really Bakugan, basically just importing my own lore from a personal story and taking the characters from Bakugan, making a new story.
Some Lore
Mirage
Ace and Baron
Lync

What other games do you like other than fe3h?
HI ANON!! thank you for giving me the liberty to talk about my fav games :3
consoles note: i have/had the wii and wii u, new 3ds, ps3, ps4, ps5, and switch; i dont play much on my computer bc it's too weak to support big games :']
first of all, i'm a HUGE zelda fan. i dont post much about it anymore, but in 2017 ca i was veeery deep into zelda games (and zelink omg-), i played all of them save for triforce heroes (never got to manage to play multiplayer online, and playing solo is a pain in the ass). i can't pick ONE fav zelda game; i tend to divide them by 2d zelda games and 3d zelda games, and my fav orders are:
3d games
1) ocarina of time, breath of the wild (cant choose sorry)
2) twilight princess, skyward sword (again CANT CHOOSE! theyre too special to me)
3) wind's waker
4) majora's mask
5) tears of the kingdom
2d games
1) link's awakening
2) spirit tracks
3) a link to the past, link between worlds (cant choose ops)
4) echoes of wisdom
5) zelda I
6) minish cap
7) phantom hourglass
8) four swords / four swords adventures (i played both but i consider them basically the same game)
9) oracle of season, oracle of ages (sorry i'm a oracle saga hater 😔 but only because i firmly believe they both could have been MUCH better! so much wasted potential.....)
11) zelda II (the only zelda game i really DID NOT enjoy......)
note that this list is a preference based; i love (almost) all zelda games equally! they're all my babies 🥺
bonus warriors mention: i'm a bitch for musou games, and hyrule warriors was the game i played the most on my 3ds xD age of calamity is nice too. i love musou games!!!!!
another saga i'm really invested in is assassin's creed. yeah i know, a bit basic, but i'm a history and archaeology major so what did you expect :']
my favs are the ezio ones, especially AC2. and as an italian player who doesnt get to see ofter her own country in videogames, trust me when i say playing in florence, rome and venice was SO AWESOME. also ezio is babigirl and i love him a lot.
BUUUUUT, almost even with the ezio games is AC origins. i mean, ancient egypt?! i'm in!!! and bayek is a super solid main character (also daddy) and i loved his arc A VERY LOT!!!
altair (AC 1) is third place; i simply love the first AC game. still solid today imo
i didnt play much the america saga; i could never managed to bring myself to continue play ACIII, i hated it 😭 i tried to play it like, 4 times?, and i never got past the part with connor's dad. i find the gameplay awful and stupidly boring :// BUUUT i played and enjoyed AC rogue, the one where the MC is a templar dude: not bad, interesting plot, i'd say it's a 6.5/10
tbh unity IS NOT THAT BAD?? mind that i first played it in like 2018 so all the infamous cursed bugs were long gone. i dont even remember the face of the MC dude, but i do remember i liked eloise. and omg paris, and french revolution!!!! the gameplay is funny, so it's okay.
about syndicate, i dont remember much about it but i do remember i enjoyed it. it was nice, gameplay 7/10. also the MC girl was hot.
bonus chronicles mention: i never expected to say this, but platform assassin's creed works!! the china story was my fav :3
AC odyssey is a great action game and i enjoyed playing it a lot; but it's a TERRIBLE assassin's creed game. let me explain. you cant give me the multiple dialogue options and different endings when THE WHOLE POINT OF THE ASSASSIN'S CREED MODERN LORE IS THAT I'M RE-LIVING MY ANCHESTORS' PAST. if it's a PAST that someone ALREADY LIVED, you can't give me different dialogue options and DIFFERENT ENDINGS!!!!! note that i love assassin's creed as a saga, but the "present" plot (the one with desmund, the abstergo etc)? i hate it with all my heart, i dont care about it, i dont give a shit about desmond &co, i just want to play a nice story settled in the past!!!! but noooo they HAD to put the weird "templars and assassins are still here today and they're still fighting and here's a machine that reads your DNA and allows you to relive the past" plot, they TORTURED ME for YEARS of games with this stupid ass modern subplot... and THEN they give me a multi endings games?? so the whole "it's the past" shit doesnt mean SHIT?????? oh my god it's so annoying. i hate it. again, odyssey is a nice game, but really whats their fucking problem :// i will forever be mad about it lmao.
i didnt played valhalla and i dont really care about it, but i plan to play mirage asap. also, i can't wait for shadows :333
i have 1200+ hours on animal crossing new horizon. i dont think i need to elaborate further about it.
i played some of the metroid games, and let me tell you, samus did Something to my gender. still not sure what exactly; but something was done for sure. also i lived-watched the infamous nintendo direct where they announced metroid prime 4. AND I'M STILL WAITING
super paper mario was one of my favourite game when i was a child, i used to remember the tippi and count bleck backstory by MEMORY. i want to play it again-
back to fire emblem: i played sacred stones (8/10 game <3<3<3) and all the "new" ones. awakening and echoes shadow of valencia are my fav right after three houses: robin is So Important to me; and i think i'm one of the few people that actually enjoys echoes gameplay xD (and its soundtrack is FIRE!!! i listen to it when i study along with the three houses one!!)
fates? ehhhhh. let's just say i'm grateful for elise and jacob. but. that's it :////
engage? cute, forgot about it the next second i finished it; save for yunaka and ivy. they're my Wives
(lmao i forgot about heroes: of course i play heroes. i can have my army of little dimitris and byleths. i dont care it's a gatcha. it's perfect bc dimileth <3) (also sorry but the heroes plots are often better written and more interesting than the fates games LMAO-)
now a bit of yuzu lore: the first console i ever had was the wii, and it was a christmas gift when i was 12 and my two other siblings a bit younger. i was very excited bc i spent years asking for a nintendo DS (i wanted to play videogames!!) but my father was strictly against it. but then omg! one day "santa claus" finally brought us a wii! i could finally play videogames!!! well, two weeks after my mother asked for divorce to my father. :'] and yes she eventually admitted she bought us the wii to "try to console us" bc she already planned to ask for divorce (idk if it's questionable but it sure did work). anyway the following months were absolutely hell, my father refused to go away and he and my mother fought a lot and yadayada i had my first major depressive episode yadayada, normal stuff for divorced people's kids i guess. anyway my point is: that wii kept me (actually us, me and my siblings) company and helped us bond and stay together during some of the hardest time of our lives. and we played a lot mario kart wii, and some just dance games (3, 4, 2015 in particular). and after all this time, i'm still very attached to these games. when i play any just dance game i remember the days i spent trying to master some choreographies (days where i couldnt manage to go to school due to anxiety, but the Motivation To Master That Specific Song made me wake up from the bed at least); same for mario kart wii: me and my siblings still play mario kart a lot (now the switch one actually:'] ). so i'll count them between my fav games!
similar thing for super smash bros brawl (i mean it was along the Divorce Hell Period Games i played), but it got a very special spot in my heart, more than just dance and mario kart. me and my sibling (4 years younger than me) really bonded over that game at the time, and it was OUR first "big" contact with nintendo games. also my main were zelda+sheik and samus and YES, THEY DID SOMETHING TO MY GENDER. I DONT KNOW WHAT BUT THEY MADE SOMETHING TO ME-
i simply love baldur's gate 3. i played one tav run, and i'm currently working on two different durge runs. karlach is my wife :3
i'm also a huge nerd for monster hunter, even if i only played world and rise. i think i have like 500+ hours on world? man i love that game. my main weapon is the insect glaive: I LOVE JUMPING AROUND AND HAVING A LIL INSECT BUDDY!!!!! i also enjoy using the dual blades and the bow. also my internet nickname, "yuzu", is also the name of my MHworld character i made back in 2018 <3 rise was nice too but i will forever be a world girl. that game allowed me to reconnect with a friend when we were in high school, so it's special <3
i've never really got to play final fantasy until a few years ago. i played the 10th first, then the 8th, i started the 7th, and when the 16th came out last year i played it a bit with my boyfriend. since the 10th is my first, it's also my favourite obv :'] the 8th has a cool story, but here's the deal: i HATE the (original) combat system of final fantasy 😭 in my opinion, it has the worst parts of both action and strategy games: it's frenetic, but you have to select the move?? wtf is this 🤨 i guess that's why i enjoyed the 10th so much, since it's turn based for real, unlike the others. about the 16th: i played it just a bit, BUT I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! the combat system is so fun, and MAN the music!!!! i havent got the time to properly finish it bc "my" ps5 is actually my boyfriend's, and when i can play i prefer to play bg3 xD but i'll get to it one day or another :'] i'm curious to play the 7th remake, but i want to play the original first. i also started playing X-2, but after seeing the yuna idol scene, i turned off my playstation. i mean, what have they done to my girl ._.
bonus mention to skyrim (one of my first videogame on playstation), and horizon zero dawn <3
okay i cant think of anything else, but i'm sure i'll come up with something more as soon as i post this reply xD
again thank you for the ask anon! if you'd like to suggest me anything based on my reply, i'm all ears <3
