GUYS I JUST SAW THE TRAILER FOR THE DISNEY+ PERCY JACKSON SERIES AND I AM ECSTATIC

Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what

Percy being allowed to be smart and figure things out on his own is actually one of my favourite things about the show like the way he was actually listening to Aries when he was talking about kronos and was able to connect that to the shoes trying to pull Grover into tartarus yes Percy use that brain of yours

When filming ep 5 the directors said "take five" but Walker and Leah misheard it as "change lives" and a generation of people are now sobbing on the floor because of "It's okay" and "He's better than that" and "Seaweed Brain"

every demigod has adhd. where are all the demigods with motor skill issues. give me demigods who have scars from training because they have coordination difficulties and keep slipping. demigods who consistently walk into corners and doorways and walls. demigods with the messiest handwriting known to man. Percy who is incredibly graceful in wet environments but trips over his own feet when it's dry. Annabeth who got misdiagnosed as needing glasses when she was younger because she kept crashing into things. Jason whose scar is still so prominent thirteen years later because he's bashed his face so many times over the years he's split his scar a hundred times. Piper who only wears velcro shoes because tying laces is the worst. Demigods with dyspraxia. demigods with motor skill issues.

The only reason some “kid’s books” are called kid’s books is cause the trauma the twelve year old went through is never properly addressed.

just a reminder that the pjotv is gonna be the first contact of many kids to the percy jackson world and probably will influence a lot of them to pick up books for the first time so everyone please be nice and tag tlt spoilers. let kids (and adults) feel the same enjoyment you did while finding out about the pjo world for the first time

i love how they changed the way luke is revealed as the traitor like it’s soo good. the fact that annabeth was also there listening so she was able to hear about his betrayal first hand was such a great change and i think it’s really important bc of their relationship. although i do wish we could have gotten some more interactions between them prior. to the ppl who have only watched the show, that scene hurts because of the way the betrayal hurts percy. for book readers it’s not only percy, but annabeth too. we feel more for annabeth bc we understand how long they’ve known each other and how they care for each other like siblings.

I can critique everything in the PJO show but I will NEVER critique Leah's hair. She looks fucking amazing and the hair stylist did so well. That little braid-half-ponytail thingy when Percy comes back to camp? OWNS MY LIFE.

Just saw a TikTok where someone called the movies a better adaptation (because the show missed a few scenes) and I saw red.

People are trying way too hard to hate on the show.

So I went to an early screening for the first two episodes of the Percy Jackson show yesterday (Saturday), and let me just say, it is 100% the adaptation we deserve. It was amazing. Once it ended, I wanted more.

The characterizations were amazing, any changes there were made sense and made the situation more realistic and added tension, the story was straight from the book, it was just amazing.

I went with my mom and she, who doesn't know the books, really enjoyed it. I asked her how she liked it (literary just the first two episodes) compared to Harry Potter (which i had her watch a few years back), and she said there was no contest. She likes the pjo show much more. She said it was engaging and even had her wanting the next episode once it was done.

Everyone needs to watch this show. It was amazing. It lives up to the hype. We need to make sure it gets greenlit for season 2.
