Because male survivors often aren't taken seriously, and most males aren't comfortable coming forward with their stories for fear of being judged, because of the belief that "males can't be victims", I want to tell you that if you went through any abuse as a male, your story is valid; I believe you and I stand with you, and I hope you get your justice

Reminder that just because AH supporters are louder doesn't mean they're in the majority. The trial ended a little over six months ago, so much can happen in six months and so much HAS happened in the last six months. Johnny supporters have gone on with our own lives and our own business. Johnny has gone on with his own life and his own business. He closed that chapter of his life indefinitely, he doesn't care to revisit it anymore and with good reason. We respect his wishes and we have enough respect for him to actualize him as a human being and more than the sum of the worst years of his life.

Johnny Depp Vs. Amber Heard Settlement Agreement 2022.

On December 19, 2022, a settlement agreement was agreed on from Amber Heard’s team. Her insurance (still in legal suit against another insurance co. Amber had) has agreed to pay Depp $1 Million, finally settling the long, tedious legal battle that finally came ahead during 2022 this summer in Virginia.

 Both Amber Heard, her team and Johnny Depp and his legal team have dismissed their appeals after the settlement agreement. I saw a lot of twitter threads and articles for some reason marketing this as a win for Amber Heard, that the verdict was thrown out because of the settlement and that Amber is free to speak the same defamatory statements she’s made on Johnny in the 2018 OP from The Washington Post and it’s clear that people are purposefully lying to their followers and readers on the facts of this announcement for the settlement, what it means for this case and the current and final verdict for the defamation trial that took place this year in Viriginia.   

For those that still believe Amber and are still for some reason thinking she actually won the trial, she didn’t. This case cannot be re-tried, and the current verdict stands that Amber defamed her abuse victim, Johnny Depp and did so with malice. She cannot repeat any defaming statement she’s made on Depp in the past, if she does then she’s opening herself to another lawsuit for another defamation trial, so if she repeats her false statements in the press, on social media, in literature, in interviews, etc then she can and will be sued again. Freedom of speech does not mean free from consequences; it does not cover you when you purposefully lie on someone publicly and in doing so ruining someone’s reputation. She lost her defamation case due to actually defaming her victim and doing so with malice.  

Her paying out the settlement that her insurance agreed to does not vacate the verdict in Virginia, so please do not believe fake attorney’s and fan pages that can’t take 5 minutes to google what a verdict is and how settlements work or what they mean to the winning party.

Hello, exquisite people!!

This a topic I feel very passionate about and I wanted to rant a bit about it....

TW: Mentions of abuse.

Excuse of Abuse

First of all people are not aware of different kinds of abuse. If the news of any kind of abuse is heard, it's often brushed off by people saying the person is being 'dramatic' or they are doing it for 'attention'.

Other people who are aware of abuse a little bit, make remarks like "yeah, abusing women is wrong".

No!

'Abusing' is wrong. Abusing any 'person', be it a women, a man, a teenage girl, a boy, a toddler, a 56 year old lady, a 90years old man, it is wrong. Be it a gay man, a lesbian women, a trans person, binary, non-binary, heterosexual, homosexual, asexual, it is wrong. Be it a homeless or a beggar or the richest person in the world, ABUSE IS WRONG. It's not to be tolerated. It is serious and not a topic to be brushed off easily.

And i think abuse not only with Humans is wrong rather abusing animals is wrong too.

If you see someone being abused whether it's verbal or physical or sexual, please step up to help them and report the 'abuser'. Help this world become a place where everyone is safe and respected. Where the first thought that comes in our mind when a stranger approaches is not 'do they have a bad intention?' or 'will they harm me?' but is 'do they need help?' and 'I'll help them if it's within my power'.

P. S : these are my thoughts and beliefs and it is not intended to offend anyone. (but if you are someone who judges people and do things written above in 'not to be done' part then... Yes, you are meant to be offended and please do get offended!!) ;)

Angel's allowed to be comfortable in his own body. He's portrayed in a sexy way because that's how he presents himself and wants to without Valentino breathing down his neck.

He is nothing without the performing name we don't even know how he died nor his human name as if that matters. The show is labeled as redemption and healing over abuse but it blatantly animates abuse without the substance of realizing that 'Hey wait a minute were portraying actual drug abuse and pimp abuse as fetish bait maybe we should rewrite angel as an actual person!'

Your characters name is slang for cocaine and his entire shtick is based around being abused. There is no point to AD other then the fact that he serves eye candy to service the fact that feminine men have to overtly ALWAYS be portrayed in media as sexual. That's a bad thing if you didn't catch my drift. Drag Queens come in different sizes shapes lives loves losses gives hopes and fears, angel dust gives none of that whatsoever.

The reason I keep banging the Jiang Fengmian drum so hard is not that he did nothing wrong--he's definitely in contention for best parenting in this book but that bar is in the ground--but because most of the takes I see about him are so extremely bad.

If you want to slag him off for trying to make choices that would hurt no one, and winding up properly protecting no one as a result, that's valid! That's an interesting and text-based critique, which opens into his parallels with Lan Xichen!

If you want to blame him for being weirdly over-invested in Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng being bffs, that's fair, that definitely contributed to the weirdness between them. If you want to say he was a poor communicator, that he fundamentally misunderstood his son, that he failed to be emotionally available in a way his kids could get much use out of, even that he should have figured out a way to stop Yu Ziyuan from creating such a hostile environment, all of that is fair game!

If you want to tackle how the worst thing he did to his kids was die I am so interested in how Wei Wuxian went on to abandon A-Yuan by going to his death, and how that might be tied to how his primary adult role model tied him to a boat and went off to a fight he knew he was going to lose.

After his parents had already left him like that once before, presumably less intentionally.

But no, instead I keep seeing that Jiang Fengmian didn't care. That he never expressed affection. That he actively participated in Yu Ziyuan's fucky game of forcing proxy conflict onto the boys instead of constantly trying (and failing) to shut it down, or that he ignored her bad behavior because it didn't affect him, or that he fought with her constantly, or that he was too much of an unmanly coward to stand up to her when she wanted something.

All of which are directly in contradiction to every scene he's in, and several of which manage to invert or erase the actual conflicts between him and his wife that were the source of all that tension.

And which are really interesting, because some of the most intractable elements are ideological--Yu Ziyuan is fundamentally a conservative and Jiang Fengmian seems to want to be an egalitarian, which ofc matched poorly with his hereditary authority as patriarch of a large sect.

The fact that the bit where we get to actually see him failing to parent Jiang Cheng consists of him gently and firmly trying to correct Jiang Cheng's ethics when what was actually needed in that moment was reassurance for the well-founded insecurities that were causing him to be a little bitch, only for Yu Ziyuan to charge in and make everything fifty times worse, is so much more interesting than literally any version of this family dynamic I have seen in fic. It's to the point I'm relieved when writers kill Jiang Fengmian off, because it means they probably won't feel the need to character-assassinate him too badly.

The number of people I've seen come right out and say some variation of 'men can't be abused' is killing me here. No, Yu Ziyuan wanting to hurt her husband does not constitute sufficient proof that he abused her first and deserved it! That's not how anything works!

going back and watching ofmd s1 now after most of s2 has aired provides SUCH context to why Izzy acted the way he did. S2 puts SO much more weight on Blackbeard's 'i havent tried dying i should try that next' statements that he makes in S1E04, and it gives a reality of how horrible Blackbeard can be. I think Blackbeards erratic behaviour and mild suicidal ideation can be dismissed when watching s1 for the first time, which makes Izzy's reaction feel disproportionate, but I think the reality is Izzy has been watching Blackbeard steadily decline and make decisions that actively go against the survival of himself and the crew. Stede and the revenge are part of an emerging pattern for him!!

s2 just really makes it so much easier to empathise with Izzy and the decisions he makes have more weight and sense behind him. His actions aren't really out of feeling antagonistic or jealous or w/e, he has been watching Blackbeard spiral out of control, and Izzy's own life spiraling with him! AOUGH it just makes Izzy less of a mindless antagonist and much more of a character who is desperate for some semblance of control and normalcy again !!!
