Round 1 of preliminaries, group 14
Tumblr media
The first two places get a place on the bracket
Little reminder: there will be 2 more rounds of preliminaries, the losing blorbos of this poll still have 2 chances of getting in the official bracket
Propaganda under the cut
Oz Vessalius (Pandora Hearts)
"Struggles with self-worth, adores books, ADHD (though that’s not canon—but he fits the diagnostic criteria), his strongest/most important relationships are platonic"
Sound (My School President)
"Lonely gay teenager who tries to be cool and sauve but gets adopted against his will by a group of losers and then falls for one of the losers who gets on his nerves a lot because he was nice to him once and then he gets all awkward and flustered around the boy and tries to avoid him and antagonize him but the boy sees through it and they eventually end up together and he becomes the most annoying person in love ever"
Luz Noceda (The Owl House)
"adhd. possibly some autism too. a weird girl who got outcasted by being herself and sure has some WACK coping mechanisms to deal with it. self worth is IN THE DRAIN. gnc and not straight. writes fanfic. artist. goes through a depression era when at her moms house. loves her mom also. this is canon stuff i'm saying"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA she is so ASDHSUJD. Okay I started watching the owl house because I knew there was a WLW couple, so obviously I had to check it out. But upon watching the show, I got so emotionally connected to it, or moreso the protagonist, Luz, that it could go beyond some people's understandings... I remember that almost any scene showing her neurodivergent traits would hit SO. CLOSE. HOME. It would be unbelievable. I literally rewatched the show more than seventeen times one summer. She is just so goshdarn relatable man. She's the weird kid, has no friends, loves making anime edits, is OBSESSED with a book series, loves witches and magic and stuff, has ADHD, an attention span that is so high when she's engaging with something she likes doing and so low when she's bored. She's just so lovely. I know a lot of people found her annoying in season one but she hit close home to me. Season two was amazing as well and she started getting even MORE relatable!! She started showing her people pleasing, how much she blames herself, it was so sad but I was glad to see a character I could relate to so much on screen. I mean i personally didn't experience the loss of my father and I personally do have one friend whom I'm able to share my life with, but she's still super relatable. She can be so silly and so cool. And her impulsivity and the way she realized she doesn't know what she wants to do when she grows up also hit close home. Mwah"
Gundham Tanaka (Super Danganronpa 2)
"Goth autistic theater kid"
Saiki Kusuo (Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan/The Disastrous Life of Saiki K)
"He's very dead inside, especially in the English Dub, and introverted. But even so, he cares a lot for his friends, even if he never says it to them and he finds them annoying most of the times. He also be nosey and just insert himself into others' situations that don't involve him (obviously, he makes it so that nobody knows he's there and, obviously, he's also complaining about this all the time). He's canonically aroace, or at least aroace spec He's canonically trans. He was born as a girl but he didn't like it so he immediately turned himself into a boy with his psychic powers. An argument could be made about him being on the autism spectrum."
Drew (The Music Freaks)
"I don't like him actually I hate him and love him st the same time in fact but. This man is so real and such a horrible jerkwad to everyone around him. I mean I can't relate to THAT but I should mention he also gets jelous easily, he is in love with his best friend who does not like him back, he's all moody and grouchy and bratty. And so am I and I hate it lol."

Can I ask for a blurb (or just thoughts in general) about Peter (maybe frat Peter?) with a reader that flinches a lot? Like maybe she's the kind of person who flinches when someone reaches for something? (Or if you aren't comfortable with that, maybe something about a touch starved reader?) I love your writing, and I feel like you're really creative with your takes on things, so thanks for sharing your authorial voice with all of us!!
Thank you friend that is very sweet of you to say 🫶🏼 I don't feel like I have very creative take on things, so it's nice to hear that from someone🥺 Also, listen I'm a flincher..I get it. I don't know if it's cause of trauma or me being neurodivergent and having sensory issues but I've always flinched at the smallest things since I was kid. Loud sounds? Flinch, fuck I used to (and still do on occasion) cry or get irrationally angry at loud sounds. Especially the sounds of a hammer hitting anything..visceral reaction. People rushing past me? Flinch. I digress but my point is I feel you. And I feel like Peter (you can picture this as frat! or normal tasm) after picking up on this is super cautious and understanding.
I think the first time it happens is like your first solo hang out and he reaches out to hold your hand and you jerk your hand away. He looks at you like "?? you okay." and you're just like "yeah totally." Because to an extent it's a subconscious reactions and he's just like...can I hold your hand then and you're like oh okay yeah :).
I think after the first few times he's more into like asking if he can hold your hand or announcing just so you're comfortable.
"im just gonna reach around you and grab this."
and you don't like react as much because like you're learning that you can relax in his situation and even if you do it unconsciously he's noticing that it's not his fault and he kind of just like works off it making sure you're as relaxed and as comfortable as possible.
he'll also tell it to his friends like hey watch sounds you make or like the way you approach them. i just want them to feel comfortable around here. and his friends are super understanding announcing their here, or if their behind you or grabbing something near you. they announce if their gonna make loud sounds. and you feel super supported and comfortable in that setting and it's nice to have people understand and accommodate to you. because you've dated people and hung out with people in the past who just didn't give a shit, or would laugh at you when it happened and called you names and shit. and when you tell peter he wastes no time shit talking the fuck out of them. "they suck..what fucking loser." and that's when you realize you may be falling in love with him because..oh my god he's so sweet and accommodating and literally all you've wanted? and you also realize he really likes you because he's making you feel comfortable in his space, and telling his friends to make you feel comfortable. and you feel wanted and validated, because that's his goal.
ii also like to think he's very protective over you in public for that reason. because he doesn't really have total control over those situations or public spaces. so he'll stand near you hand on hip to let you know you're good in public, rubbing reassuringly if someone at the bar reaches around you to grab something, or bumps into you guys. also if you're like me and loud noises make you flinch he'll totally cover your ears if he thinks something is gonna be loud. and you think it's really sweet. but he's definitely a touch reassurance person so if he doesn't catch it he'll rub your arm or side and ask if you wanna go somewhere more quiet or if you're okay. if you carry headphones (normal or noise canceling because tho different a lot of new headphones have noise canceling capabilities) he'll totally carry them for you or make sure you have them before you go out
"just incase" he says
overall, if you couldn't tell, ii think he'd go to the end of his capabilities to make sure you feel accommodated and comfortable.
sorry this is short anon I thought my word vomit could articulate my thoughts better. also very sorry if this is not what you wanted.

PREACH!!!!! this escalated to body shaming nick and wishing death upon him rather than the actual topic on hand. im a nick boy 4ever but what he said was wrong and he needs to be aware of that. however that doesnt mean ppl should hate on nick for no reason. ive seen like for real body shame him now, like real nasty stuff. as someone who had body dysmorphia and an ED, reading those comments really hurt and they weren't even abt me. ppl need to focus on the ableist thing he said. even before this comment ive seen ppl hate in nick repeatedly for no reason and like say shit to him that was actually too far, especially with the comments about his body. as somone who also has autism and stims a lot i truly didn't find harm in his comment and i found it funny cause me and my friends joke around like that as well, but i understand why it would hurt someone out of 7 million ppl. i feel like he truly didnt know the meaning of what he said and said it with no malicious intent l, but he needs to know what he said was wrong and he needs ro be held accountable. however this doesnt mean that ppl should say he should die or call him a fat pig or loser (ive seen comments like that and worse a bunch) bc thats js not right. as someone who grew up w out any neurodivergent ppl around u cant just hate and go off on someone if they say something rude or disrespectful when they truly didnt know what they were saying or didnt know any better, the important thing is to tell them that's saying stuff like that is wrong and rude. nick is 21 years old so he should be held accountable but shouldn't be called fat, ugly, or an evil monster (once again true comments ive seen). once again i feel like this some ppl in this fandom like year ago and up until now found things to hate on nick like say some really messed up shit w out any reason or sense into their words. (most of them are just fueling the their parasocial relationship with matt and chris bc nick was slighty mean around them). nick should 100% be held accountable for this, but he shouldn't be degraded and shit on to this degree. a lot of them (not all) didnt like nick in the first place and started body shaming and saying that he shouldn't even be a part of the sturniolo triplets at all, which is taking thing out of proportion. i do hope nick says smth about this bc ppl out here are saying some really nasty shit that even flared my insecure ass's negative mindset off, and it wasnt even directed towards me. moral of the story imo nick said smth fucked up, even if he did it unknowingly or w out bad intent or just even didnt truly know what stimming meant, and he should understand how it hurt ppl and should say smth about it, but that doesn't mean ppl should blow things out of proportion and body shame and ridicule him just bc they dont like him (and some want to fuel their parasocial relationship w matt and/or chris i fear). the focus should be abt the ableist comment itself. sorry if this is too long i just wanted to put my side of this debacle out here and i really hope this made sense, love ya a bunchhhhh
This was a lot but I agree ! Body shaming and calling him all these names is doing way too damn much! And telling him to die is insane! People have hated on Nick from the jump and just want to ridicule him for everything!
I have a theory that people are growing out of the triplets/ the hyper fixation is dying out and they hate that they are growing out of it so people start hating to justify it.
Like it’s ok to pick out the wrongs your fav has done, but to start going this hard by wishing death on him, calling him fat etc, it’s too much.

Long-overdue intro post
No fancy formatting or anything, let's just fuckin' go. I'll update it later.
Hi!! I'm Casey. Or Akuma, either works (though i usually prefer Akuma if we're not close). I use they / them pronouns but am alright with.. pretty much any gendered terms. I'm neurodivergent but not a minor.
Pretty much the only fandom I post about nowadays is Identity V because of the absolute GRIP it's had on me for going on four years now, but End Roll also makes appearances every now and again w/ other fandoms.
DNI's are pretty standards. TERFs, SWERFs, proship, all that. The one hard line I draw with specific ships is Adamil; it's not personal, the ship just makes me viscerally uncomfortable and i don't want it anywhere near me.
As for characters I like: IDV — I have a lot. However, the biggest ones for me are Demi, Emily, Annie, Norton, Luchino, Frederick, Ganji, Emil, Lily, Matthias, Patricia, Ithaqua, Grace, and Joseph. I'm very fond of most of the cast with few exceptions, but these are just the ones I'm especially ill about. End Roll — Tabasa McNeil save me Tabasa McNeil,, the entire cast is great but Tabasa just Hits Different man Your Turn to Die — Sara, Reko, Kurumada (my friend's fault), Kai, and Anzu are all very special to me Genshin Impact — I've long since left the fandom and the game behind and have no desire to return, but there are a couple characters I hold very dear to my heart. Those ones are Gorou, Cyno, Collei, Freminet, Baizhu, Xinyan, and Bennett. Tighnari too but I'm slightly less insane about him. Bloodborne — Micolash, Maria, Father Gascoigne, and Eileen. I don't have much to say because I don't talk about them much, but rest assured I am incredibly mentally ill over them. Parties Are For Losers — The entire cast is very special to me but Sergei will always be my favourite. Dima, Olya, and Anya are all very close seconds. Other characters I really love that stand out from their fandoms are Quentin Smith (ANoES 2010 / Dead By Daylight), YOHIOloid & KAITO (Vocaloid), Solaria (SynthV), Jujube & Ama Ryllis (Mandrake Boys), Falken (Dislyte), and Kelthur Marwen & Desira (AFK Arena). These are all characters from fandoms / media I don't interact with much anymore, but they still live rent-free in my head.
Other things I like are cats, thunderstorms, Cake Bake Betty's music, and pastries. I have quite a few characters I headcanon as agender / non-binary and who I will always use they / them pronouns for, but I couldn't care less if you use their canon pronouns around me. I'm an aspiring author with way too many OC's, though I don't really do any OC posting here because my blog is mainly meant to be a fandom-centric space.
Sideblogs: @pmakuma — IDV match clips @true-pr00f — Fanfiction sideblog @sunsetandshadows — Side project I'm working on with @sunset-of-the-void centering around two of our OC's
You can also find me on Twitter at _akumatensh1_ and AO3 at True_Pr00f.

Jason/Nico shippers 'calling out Percy for his privileged treatment of Nico' is SO.What privilege my guy????Percy is poor, grew up getting bullied nonstop for being neurodivergent, was treated badly by teachers too,had an abusive stepdad and no real friends until she was 12 and had to deal all that except the stepdad even in the series itself AND the added bullshit by the gods and Luke that canonically gave her ptsd. She was also the ONE person who actively went out of her way to be nice to Nico and her not liking him back isn't her being 'homophobic',it's because he's too young for her and she gets crushes rarely anyway and it is WILD to act like that means she personally sought out to hurt him with that and deeper than Tartarus unserious to accuse her of 'never really caring about him' because Rick retconned their dynamic to torment Nico and stain Percy's characterization because he realized he'd made her too good of a role model for kids and people of all ages really
'But Percy's so popular and beloved!'That's not a privilege, she's just fucking good to other people and saved the world a bunch of times out of the goodness in her heart and Nico was going to be popular and beloved to post-Tlo that was literally implied and THAT got retconned too and that's only in in the demigod world, she still spends most of her time the mortal one as a freak and loser.'But Percy is conventionally attractive!'So is Jason and even more so because he's blonde haired, blue eyed and canonically lighter skinned than her!'But Nico is autistic-coded!'SO IS PERCY!!!!It would take too long to list all her symptoms but i have the same personality as her and have since i was a kid so she's just as autistic as Nico is because it's a spectrum.Sorry not all of us are autistic in the 'correct' way i guess.'But Jason is queer-coded!'1.Not canonically! and 2.Oh you wanna play that game?Alright, here's my move:Every single transfem in the fandom i've met have said Percy is a trans woman egg and i made a masterpost that was over 1k of the evidence for it.There,Percy wins the oppression olympics you keep trying to setup by virtue of autistic tgirl swag
And since you guys LOVE 'dunking' on Percy, here's a reminder that's canon:Nico only needed Jason because he didn't have Percy anymore.Percy was his whole world and she feels the same way about him and the feelings started going three ways when Hazel got ressurected.Just because Nico's gay that dosen't mean he only cares about men he's into and his girls are his number one and everybody else comes dead last.Y'all's lil Cmbyn asses can choke on that🖤💙💜

okay but actually i think one of my favorite things about mob psycho is that. mob is very autistic coded, right? but he's just. he's a normal kid and he has so many friends and everyone loves him!! when he wants to get in the top 10 in the school marathon, no one tells him that's an impossible goal; they all try their best to help him train and encourage him every step of the way! he isn't the butt of the joke, and even when reigen does try to tell him he's misreading things and the people he thinks are his friends aren't actually his friends, that is 1. proven not to be true, 2. not portrayed as a funny haha joke moment, and 3. reigen faces consequences for saying it. mob is autistic coded, and no one treats him any differently for it. it's just one of the many things that makes mob who he is, and no one dwells on it. and it's so nice to see a character who, in pretty much any other show, would be an awkward loner and a loser and an outcast, have so many real friends. mob isn't popular, he's awkward, he doesn't always read situations correctly, he's a middle school boy who has never fit in with his peers. but he has so many friends and so many people who care about him and maybe he's not the most popular boy at school but he has more real friends than tsubomi, who is clearly the most popular girl, and at the end of the day, popularity doesn't matter. being happy does, and mob is happy. like,, it's refreshing to see a school friend dynamic where there's a middle ground between "popular" and "social outcast" and it's also so nice to see a neurodivergent-coded character treated just like any other middle school kid in the show. he's no different because of his autism. it's just a character trait

•••Some Spamton thoughts and headcanons•••
[how would he even fall in love?
I think with him it's pretty 'fast and hard' before his 'Big Shot' days. He was a struggling young man, I know he had friends at least, but I think he wanted a partner in the long run - just something he knew he'd want to have in the future. So I think a partner would be a heavens gift in his eyes - someone who loves a simple guy like him. He doesn't think of himself as a complete loser, I think he was just averagely normal and knew it. Maybe had some mental/neurodivergent struggles, maybe even stuttered or had a speech impediment of some sort.
Why 'fast and hard' - that's just specific for him, not much here. People fall in love differently, that's what I pick for him. But he falls hard and fast for his friends, not strangers or anyone who showed him just a bit of interest, bro knew he had value.
During 'Big Shot' days I think his ego definetly inflated and hurt him as a concequence. I definetly think he had a whore phase, cause who the fuck wouldn't in his specific place. Probably had his heart broken quite a few times during this period too from getting too attached too quickly from the lack of romantic experience. As time went on and his insecurity in his abilities grew, this definetly took a tall on his love life - I'd say he went back to falling only for closest friends/people who he conceded his stress and worries in (maybe Jevil, maybe Swatch, maybe someone else). I think he stopped falling for those that were after his success but never heightened his standards because he thought himself as a shitty partner at that point as well.
Then after a couple of years of constant stress and growing depression, maybe substance abuse (be it alcohol or nicotine, not necessarily drugs) his psyche was broken by him being thrown out of Queen's mansion (that's trauma number one).
Actually, no, his trauma number one was his friends turning away from him. It's pretty much confirmed he had NO ONE.
Trauma number two would be his insecurity growth and his uncertainty of the future, his abilities, definetly had impostor syndrome and some sort of personality crisis. That would happen while his success grew and his friends turned away from him.
Trauma number three is the phone not ringing anymore. That's when depression started.
Then him being thrown out.
I'd say that's when his psyche finally took damage that could not be reversed, bro is now slightly insane.
Then he tried to impersonate Swatch and took a swim in the acid river - that's another trauma. I think that's the first time his mind was properly smeared against the ground, leaving him scared and hopeless.
He never stopped trying to come back, of course, but that's just Spamton's iron will, the traumas just temporarily slowed him down.
And then years of homelessness beat him down to the level he is now - just harsh physical conditions.
I think what makes him absolutely and utterly amazing is his inner strength, perseverance and unwillingness to give up under any circumstance, just pure drive, because in his place I would not have gone for as long as he has.
And I can't even begin to imagine how fucked up everything he went through is.
Anyway, as for when his partner would come in: I like an AU where Spamton didn't come with Kris and co. but just returned to Cyber City. I think meeting with Kris definetly calmed him down in his insane pursuit of godhood, now he' would be ready to take things slow for once.
I say a month is enough reflection time for him to calm down and to come to terms with everything that happened regarding Kris; Spamton also definetly reflected on him nearly killing the kid - I don't think he was proud of that.
He is definetly a bitter, angry, hurt man, but with a good heart beneath all the pain and trauma he's endured.
So I say he is willing to keep hurting and using others mindlessly, before he befriends them.
So in the scenario where he would stumble across a future partner - he wouldn't trust them fully for a month or so, no matter how nice of interactions they have.
Than maybe they defend him in a street fight and he starts trusting them a bit more - maybe thinks they would be useful to keep around as a tough companion, but nothing more.
Than maybe they do something out of the goodness of their own heart and he genuinely appreciates it - I say that's them being genuinely interested in his shop, maybe helping him dumpster dive. I have a small nice headcanon that Spamton's future partner tries to help him by finding or thrifting and unwanted laptop to expand his business o line - maybe they don't find a laptop for him after all, or maybe they do - why the fuck not - but I say that's the moment he's touched by the reckless effort and decides they are now acquaintances instead of customer/salesman business partners.
And after that his future s/o feels easier around him as well, visits him more, they talk about things, share meals. Maybe hang out (definetly do more dumpster diving) or travel together somewhere nice, Spamton takes them to quite a few cool sightseeing spots. Maybe they sneak onto a roof of a skyscraper and have a meal there.
Maybe Spamton's now friend sneaks away cool dishes for him from a work event, and then finally fully acknowledges Spamton being homeless and pities him (not openly, they know Spamton's ego and heart couldn't handle it) and goes 'fuck it' and casually invites him to their house for lunch.
Maybe Spamton declines the offer for a month straight and then agrees just out of annoyance and then actually loves the experience, and maybe, surrounded by comfort and warmth of a home, having warm food in him, being in company of a person he trusts his life with (even if out of practical reasons) he fucking RELAXES for once in his horrible, grim life and thinks 'huh, I should do that more often'.
So they do, because god knows his friend is having a small crush on him already (they are weird and their tastes are insane), and maybe Spamton finally realised that he has made a friend and maybe that realisation hits him just a bit too hard and a small part of his broken heart gets put back in place. And maybe after that he tells the reader that he is grateful for them as a friend, and admits that for the first time in a long time, he feels content about anything in his life.
And maybe that's when he notices to himself that the reader is somewhat hot, and their strength is impressive, and their compassion and kindness is inspiring, and the contrast of him and Spamton is comforting and refreshing.
And maybe then reader shares a dark secret - about their past and their insecurities, their admiration for Spamton's strength and how they would have never been as tough as Spamton and that's why they think he's so cool and inspiring to them personally.
And maybe that's the moment Spamton takes a compliment genuienly and feels like the person in front of him appreciates Spamton for what he is - his strengths and weaknesses. And then just maybe, just maybe, realises he feels the same deep way about reader.
And that's when the LOVE kicks in hooooo boy.
His future s/o knows they have an infatuation with him. But then after they share a vulnerable moment, they start to get even closer, hang out more. Spamton becomes a regular guest in their home and they get used to him being close. And infatuation grows into comfort, feeling of safety and fondness. The closer they get - the closer they are physically - that results in intimate interest.
And Spamton feels just the same way, although processes it much worse - he IS a homeless mentally ill old man after all, and he knows it.
But when the confrontation of the live confession happens - that's probably when his mental shit hits the fan in his brains. Good thing his love interest is right there to comfort him :)

Analysis of Drake Parker
Because he is inherently my favorite little guy, and I relate to him a lot. I also watched Drake and Josh, but I'm not quite finished. I just have way too many thoughts about him.
Also, I just want to say his bowl cut sucks, and I like his season one haircut. Anyway, let's go!
Tumblr media
First, the show makes it very obvious from the get-go what his character is supposed to be. He's the cool, popular guy; girls like him, and he is friends with almost everyone. His character is the opposite of his step-brother Josh, who is more nerdy and quiet.
One problem with this is that Drake canonically has one friend. How is he supposed to be popular if he has one friend? And it's Trevor. No one mentions that Scottie, Drake's old drummer, and Trevor are brothers, but I know. It's on the fandom wiki. However, the fact that he has one friend leads me to think that Drake is only popular or well-liked because he's attractive. My guy has the pretty privilege and has been using that to make friends. Without it, he probably won't talk to anyone other than Josh or Megan.
But throughout the show, Josh and Megan are the only people he interacts with on a personal level. Can I just say the show has established that he's cool, suave, and popular? It seems more like he's a loser on tier with his brother and Mindy Crenshaw. The only thing that makes him "cool" is the amount of girlfriends he's had.
He's had 72 girlfriends, and I don't think that's normal for a teenager, but I could be wrong. 72 girlfriends in the span of four years. Granted, he would date them for three weeks and then break up, but that's like a good chunk of a month. How did bro have the time??
This brings me to the point about schoolwork. You may remember your high school years, but at some point, we all had that classmate who didn't want to do the job and would fight with the teacher about it. Drake is the slacker you wouldn't want on your group project. He wouldn't do any of it, and then you would be forced to do it all yourself. That must be how Josh feels when he tries to get his brother to do homework. Now, aside from saying he has any sort of neurodivergence because that is up to you to figure out, and I'm not going to speak over anyone on that topic. He will easily get distracted if you dangle something shiny in front of him.
But, also, the adults didn't really push him to do anything. They left him to do his thing and focused more on the people who had either already done the work and got an A+ or they (Mrs. Hayfer) insulted him. Like, I'm sorry, I can't believe that Drake is 100% a slacker; he may be disillusioned with school because of how piss poor his teachers were, but with the proper guidance, he could have gotten good grades. He had potential, but no one saw it, so eventually, his only skill became music that no one really validated. (And let me just say, it's fucking torture having one skill you're good at that wasn't really validated. Granted, my skill was writing, and I can hardly imagine how a beginner musician would feel.)
He's just giving me a gifted kid that burned out too quickly. For starters, we don't know what happened between his dad and mom. I can only assume divorce (mainly because I don't want Dave Parker to be dead) since he's in the military. Divorce is hard on a kid. I may never know, but I can understand what it's like suddenly losing a parent. And Drake? Well, he went unchecked. I don't blame Audrey. She was a single mother trying to raise wild-child Drake and Megan. (Maybe this is why I relate to him???) Drake was essentially denied when he never even got to prove he could do something, so he resigned to lounging around instead of doing it out of fear of failure.
Can I circle back to his 72 girlfriends? Because I had ten relationships in four years, I don't know how he could have 72. And yeah, it's a funny joke that he's a womanizer and is just "sleeping around" for fun without actually doing the do. Look, I may be 20, but like... I feel awkward saying it in a semi-professional sense. At least, I view this analysis as professional. But, honestly, I think his dating around so much is also tied to that fear of failure and rejection. For example, if he's too afraid to work on an assignment sheet, you better believe he'd be too scared to put himself out there and get to know someone. Which could be why he never directly asks any of the girls out. He lets them come to him.
I could even say that Drake has an avoidant attachment style and that he can feel stifled if his partner overtly expresses interest in him beyond making out in the lobby of The Premiere. But there is a point I forgot to mention. There are a few girls for whom he is absolutely head over heels. One is Carly, and the other is a girl who beats up football players for him.
He saw something with Carly because she liked the same music as he did and was pretty. With the girl who is stronger than him, I can only assume it was because she beat up four football players who were harassing him and Josh at The Premiere. I don't think I could see either of those relationships going anywhere; all things considered, Josh did help him grow and change as the series progresses, but he is still shallow and vain.
This analysis has gone on too long, and I have touched upon everything I've wanted to say, but if you want to hear more, let me know!
Sidenote: Once I rewatch BTR, I am totally going to analyze James Diamond because in a way I think James and Drake are very similar and I could even compare them after I do a James analysis!
Side, Sidenote: I'm in the process of setting up a ko-fi I just have to figure out a couple of things!

A digression about Gareth Keenan, Tim Canterbury and Dawn Tinsley — The Office UK
Gareth Keenan has feelings of superiority over others, he pretends to have a higher position than Tim Canterbury when he really doesn't, he appears to be someone mature and serious when he really isn't (and he simply doesn't fool anyone around), and tries to make seem like being in the army made him tough (except it didn't). He makes terrible gaffes, and making racist, sexist, misogynistic, xenophobic and homophobic quotes (whether he does it consciously or not). On the other hand he is very literal and naive, has no real social skills and is very direct, so that he comes across as rude at times (which makes some people assume that he has neurodivergent, which I don't know if it really fits complete in him, or if he's just "clueless". Considering his friends, when they appear on the Show, it looks like they all came out of a psychiatric hospital, the question remains as to where Gareth knows them).
But see that he says he will fire Tim and Dawn in an episode where he doesn't really have the power to do so, but later he becomes the leader of that department, and even though he has the power to fire employees, he doesn't fire Tim (even though Tim keeps messing around him). And Gareth offers Dawn a job again. In other words, he claims to be averse to Tim (and Dawn) but he really isn't, because he keeps them around in the end.
Gareth and Tim don't hate each other, Tim plays the childish younger brother and Gareth pretends to be the best and most mature (when he really isn't). They look like don't understand each other, that will strangle each other at any moment, but in fact Gareth tolerates and even "likes" Tim. Gareth doesn't seem overwhelmed by Tim, he is irritated by Tim's childish pranks and sense of humor, but after all this mockery its helps Gareth really feel more mature, as Gareth exercises his (false) superiority through Tim's (childish) figure. Without Tim, Gareth would just be the boss who isn't really respected, a puppet, as seen in the special of Christmas.
Tim Canterbury, on the other hand, is a 30 year old man, but in reality he seems like a very young and childish teenager, I wouldn't give more than 13 years for his personality. And Tim is not really mean and prone to bully guy (actually he is kind and sociable, someone who likes to joke, only), but he is also small, he has no prospects for the future, he is a "loser" who still lives with his mother and works in a boring office. Tim left college out of fear, and preferred to stay in the office where everything is easier, he makes it look like he's going to leave the office but when he receives a small (and irrelevant) promotion he stays, pretends he wants to grow and move up in the company, but that's also him lying to himself because when he's given the job of David Brent (the Boss) he just turns it down and recommends Gareth!
See how he doesn't hate Gareth, he gives him the leadership role even though he knows Gareth could become insufferable at that job (since being superior was all Gareth wanted to make it look like).
Tim is like a teenager who doesn't want any responsibility, he just wants to play and have fun. He's not really mean in his pranks, see how he annoys and teases Gareth, but Tim doesn't humiliate or intimidate him (that's no fun for Tim). He wants to have fun, but he doesn't really want to hurt anyone, in the party episode he's the only one talking about dignity, that even a joke has to have a limit, and that's when his co-workers rip off another employee's pants showing his private parts to the camera and making fun of it, even against the man's will (THIS is bullying and it's really humiliating). In the Christmas special, when David asks the office to go out with him for drinks and nobody cares, Tim is the only one who (on seeing Brent's humiliation) says he's going to. Tim is just a nice, playful and irresponsible little boy trapped in an adult's body.
And in the end, who is David talking to? With Gareth and Tim.
Gareth and Tim are possibly the only two people in the office who don't look down David. Gareth always respected David and imitated him to some extent (copying his lines), Gareth never wanted to steal Brent's job, he supports Brent and keeps him around even after Brent was fired, Gareth possibly thinks David Brent is amazing and friendly, they get along well. Tim, on the other hand, certainly realized that David was actually an attention-seeking, lonely and goofy guy who was trying to make himself look like he was awesome (only he wasn't). Tim didn't really take David seriously, but on the other hand Tim was nice enough to be the only one in the office (with the exception of Gareth) who was NOT OK with seeing Brent humiliated. Then Tim is sympathetic to Brent, when he realizes the man is really in need.
Tim is someone who likes to tease and tease his peers and have a laugh, but he doesn't really like to see people down, sad and out. Tim knows how to make fun of his peers without really going too far, without crossing the line from teasing into cruelty. Tim is possibly the most "socially intelligent" out of everyone around him, although he doesn't really do anything productive with it in his life.
Dawn Tinsley initially seems like a tragic victim, she wants to be an illustrator but is stuck in a bad relationship and a boring job. But look at how she keeps both even though are bad for her, and even at the end of season two she claims to like funny guys (Tim), she knows her boyfriend Lee is an asshole who doesn't really care like her, but they will to the United States, so she rejects Tim and goes with Lee, who is a terrible boyfriend, but she believes that her life can change in the US, so she goes with him.
She puts Tim and the United States on avaliable and realizes that the United States has more to offer for her future, possibly.
But when she returns three years later, her life hasn't changed, Lee doesn't support her dream of being an illustrator, he's still a jerk who doesn't really care about her and treats her like an object, so there's Tim, he still in love with her, he is single and supports her dream. So she stays with him.
Gareth has offered her a job there at the office again, so we know where she will be staying. And see how Dawn and Tim have similar personalities, they communicate with their eyes (which is almost like reading minds), she agrees with his jokes (she helps him make fun of Gareth). And in that scene where Lee and his friends make fun of the pregnant girl (the girl who shares the table with Tim), neither Tim nor Dawn defend the girl, they don't think that Lee was right, but on the other hand both are silent and don't care with the girl.
Dawn is not a poor victim, she is just like Tim. Both "losers". She won't be an illustrator for the same reason that Tim won't be a Psychologist, they don't have the courage to face these challenges, as Dawn said: "you don't become an illustrator overnight". Dawn and Tim don't have the courage to face the real battles and responsibilities of life and a successful career. So they stay there in the office together, supporting each other and playing pranks. Because they want an easy life.
Dawn treats Tim like a step up in the heirarchy, Tim has been promoted to boyfriend, Dawn only stays with him when Lee is no longer useful to her. Tim is not someone with a bright future, but at least Dawn and he get along, they understand each other through the eyes, he is fun and friendly and she sympathizes with his sense of humor, Tim does not treat her like an object, and supports her, her dreams and feelings, he waited for her for three years in a dedicated and humble way. So she stays with him, because he's a better option than Lee.
Tumblr media
The Office UK is comic and tragic at the same time because the characters are painfully real. They are ALL flawed. There isn't even one character who is morally perfect. Nobody. Neither the main characters nor the supporting ones. All are morally questionable. They are good people, good-natured, to "some extent". And that's what makes them so human.

i guess i’ll finally post 06’s backstory smh
So 06’s actual name is Finn, but he doesn’t remember that after diving headfirst into a bullet. He was born somewhere in what used to be michigan, and he was a bit of a rebellious jerk who snuck out a lot to go steal books to read and snacks to eat. 06 also got in a lot of trouble as a kid for just displaying signs of neurodivergency oof
He moved out as soon as he could and lived in an abandoned house in the outskirts of Novac, where he became the sort of glue that keeps Manny and Boone from absolutely hating each other.
He takes the whole ‘deliver the chip’ job and decides to sneak through the Quarry because it’s quicker and he’s got plenty of experience sneaking around.(obviously it doesn’t go well)
Finn wakes up in Goodsprings with barely any memories, and obviously since he hasn’t come back home Boone got a bit worried and headed out to Goodsprings to check on his friend. Finn has a panic attack upon seeing Boone because he should know this guy, but he can’t recognize him at all.
06 and Boone go around looking for Benny and getting filled in on information (stuff like who the fuck Boone is, where Finn lives, etc) and almost immediately upon showing up in Freeside, 06 falls head-over-heels for Arcade because he’s a gay loser. (Same)
Then Finn finds Benny, shoots him, and finds Yes Man, who’s accidentally a bit too loud for 06 and sends him into sensory overload. (oops) It’s all good though, because after calming back down, Yes Man is like “Sorry bro, anyways do you want to take over the Mojave?” and 06 is like “I guess, but can I just let it not be controlled by anyone else? I’m like in no fit mental state to run anything important lmao”
06 then kills Mr. House, has a really awkward chat with Caesar who doesn’t understand why Finn introduced himself and included his pronouns, and becomes besties with the Followers. Oh, he also adopts ED-E and Rex as his kids. He’s a father now ig

I believe that Ron Stoppable is neurodivergent. Many of his traits line up with being neurodivergent.
Disregard for Gender Norms
In "Mind Games" Ron mentions liking the skirt on Kim's cheer uniform.
In "Attack of the Killer Bebes" he got a movie makeup kit as a birthday present.
In "Two to Tutor" he is revealed to love baking and is mentioned as being interested in interpretive dance.
He becomes a fan of the Oh Boyz in "Oh Boyz".
He becomes a fan of "Kim Style" in "Kimitation Nation".
He is implied to be interested in Britina dolls in "Queen Bebe".
These are all things typically regarded as feminine interests, but when Ron has his crisis about being a man in "Ron the Man", none of that stuff is what he's concerned about. He's not afraid any of that stuff makes him less of a man, and he feels no shame about them (most of the time).
Lack of Concern for Popularity
There are several times where Ron is shown to not care about popularity, though there are also several times where Ron is shown to care a great deal about how others perceive him.
Obsessive Tendencies
In "October 31st" Ron is shown to still be interested in going trick-or-treating, despite the fact that most people would have outgrown this hobby by this point.
In "Grande Size Me" Ron becomes obsessed with proving Barkin wrong about the food pyramid, and begins behaving in a defensive manner over it.
(Of course, Ron invented the Naco, which was the specific item Barkin was criticizing, so it's a bit understandable.)
In "Dimension Twist" Ron spends three days straight watching cable television.
Ron has a tendency to become obsessed with his interests, and defensive if someone doesn't like them.
Hobbies and Interests
In "Monkey Fist Strikes" Ron is revealed to be interested in video games, and this is mentioned again in "Steal Wheels".
In "Larry's Birthday" it's revealed that Ron has regular meetups with Larry and Larry's friends.
In "Queen Bebe" Ron is implied to have an interest in Britina dolls.
Ron is a fan of the Oh Boyz in "Oh Boyz", even when they're so unpopular no one goes to their concerts. In addition to this, he doesn't even realize they're no longer popular.
Ron may not having been looking for a naked mole rat specifically, but he does consider them to be cool pets.
In "Two to Tutor" there is a brief mention of Ron having an interest in interpretive dancing.
He's still interested in trick-or-treating in "October 31st".
Many of Ron's interests are things typically regarded as "uncool" or "childish", things his peers are usually not interested in.
Social Life and Anxiety
Ron is frequently shown to lack social skills - bad at picking up intonation, doesn't have many friends, has a hard time dating, and is generally believed to be unpopular.
There's also Ron's tendency to panic, and his occasional bouts of paranoia.
(Though his belief that Barkin is targeting him specifically was apparently correct.)
In fact, Ron's anxiety reached a breaking point when, in "Odds Man In", he experienced such bad anxiety, he locked himself in some kind of panic room.
(Also, where was this? When did he have it built?)
Ron is also concerned about being replaced as Kim's best friend or sidekick, as shown in "Pain King vs Cleopatra", or boyfriend, as shown in "Ill-Suited".
So Ron displays many traits associated with neurodivergent teenagers.
And these also happen to be the traits that the show used to write him as a "loser".
And that's one of the reasons I dislike so much of the show's humor being at Ron's expense - because it often relies on poking fun at Ron not behaving in a neurotypical way.
And as someone who is not neurotypical, seeing the character that's the most like me being the "buffoon" character, the "inept sidekick" character, the one who is incompetent and incapable, well...it kind of hurts.
Because it kind of feels like they're saying what I and many other neurodivergent people have heard our whole lives - that you can't do anything, and you look foolish for trying.
Look, I realize this wasn't intentional. But, even unintentionally, Ron is very heavily neurodivergent-coded, and that happens too often in media - humor that relies on someone having neurodivergent traits and making fun of them for it.
And we've all grown past that.

hi honey - maple harvest and amber!
Hi Linds!!! ILY!!
This ask game
First of all when I saw this I melted at honey because pet names make me die inside (in a good way)
Second of all, the second time I saw this I spent a full minute scanning the ask game for “honey”
Maple— a hobby you’ve always wanted to try but never have
I need to learn how to make clothing. I have a friend who knows how now & I need to absorb the skills second hand (Jackie if u see this I m looking at you)
What fictional character do you most identify with
James Potter. I am a James Potter girlie to the end of my DAYS. I don’t even care if I don’t seem like him. He’s mine.
Amber — share an unpopular opinion you have
I feel like I have a lot but also idk if they’re unpopular or if I just have good friends
TO PREFACE I AM ANTI-CENSORSHIP write what you want but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!! And I will be talking about things I Hate below this. Obviously not like. Directly at people because as said im anti-censorship
1. Snape is way way way wAYY more interesting to me that BCJ and I also like snape more than I like Barty. Like just because JKR was weird about him liking Lily doesn’t mean we have to keep that & you even that out a bit and you’ve got a VERY interesting character right there.
2. Regulus Black is NOT a slutty snarky dead inside sugar baby and it makes me ANGRY when people write him this way. I get livid about the current dominant characterization for Regulus SO MUCH. I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all and tbh it’s 90% of why I left the fandom. Like truly it makes me so angry seeing him depicted this way. I have deep rage about it. This boy is a wet cat. In sophs words he is PRICKLY not PLUCKY. In Nats words he is SOGGY and a FREAK and a LOSER. He would not have friends in middle school. He is constantly living in the shadow of his cool older brother and wants to be like him and fails to recognize what is special about being himself.
Like James falling in love with him is entirely just James looking at the scraggliest most pathetic cat living in the woods behind his house and saying “yeah that’s mine”
And also regulus is mean to James because he’s scared of people leaving him not because Mean is one of his core character traits. Mean is nobody’s core character trait there’s always something behind the meanness and I rlly rlly hate when he Literally Bullies James. Like that’s not nice. I don’t like reading that personally it makes my chest hurt & not in a cute way.
ALSO the sugar baby trope doesn’t work when they’re both rich. That just doesn’t make sense. Regulus has more money than James and the only reason I think it’s written this way is—and same with Wolfstar—is because of heteronormative stereotypes. Which like if that’s what you want to be doing then fine okay go for it. I do hate it but if you care about my opinion then that rlly says more abt u & it is in fact a you problem.
3. I also have deep rage about the hc of James potter having BPD. I have seen it scrolling in the ao3 tags a couple times & like power to you ig but My neurodivergence that knows about psychology gets REAL mad about it because factually you’re just incorrect. Like BPD develops under very specific circumstances and I get really annoyed when that isn’t taken into account!!
You wanna talk BPD let’s talk Sirius Black, I am down to have that conversation.
But James Fleamont Potter does not have a single precursor to developing this personality disorder and it just gets to me. It gets to me okay? That’s my whole reasoning it just gets to me I hate when the psychology of a fic doesn’t make sense as to who the characters are at their core. In my head. So.
4. Learning to multi ship saves lives and if you’re not down for it at least a little bit then I do quietly think you’re gonna become one of those people who’s one day gonna be so close minded you’ll have the solutions to all ur problems appear on a plate in front of you and you’ll just be like “nah I’d have to leave my comfort zone”
5. Non fandom related…fun fact leaving your confort zone is a necessary part of life & you have to be willing to do so in order to learn, grow, and unlearn prejudice. So. Important skill to learn. Might as well start with ships.
ANYWAYS THIS GOT SO LONG
TL;DR: regulus characterizations in most fics rn make me ill, James potter deserves better than yall & so do i (not speaking of my beautiful lovely mutuals esp you Linds I am so sorry for unloading this on ur ask)

He's all that (Netflix) (my review)
I did not know it was a remake of she's all that also never seen the movie. However, I fucking love Cinderella stories especially gender bent ones. Like Disney's geek charming that had Sarah Hyland, I like cheesy movies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I did not know the main girl was Addison rae then again, my tik tok is mostly alt, neurodivergent, and pets. Who names their kid Padgett? Took me a while but Fucking Zander is the douchebag guy.
Tumblr media
I know it's a shitty song like the logan Paul one's, but I couldn't help myself and sing it a bit in the end. Also, Mathew Lillard and Kortney Kardashian where in it. Lillard, I accepted he's barely in it and I love Shaggy but a Kardashian...
I wish They kept Cameron's long hair but that's just me but I'm glad they shaved him.
Tumblr media
The ugly duckling getting a popular make over as a bet has got to be stopped. Glad all they did was cut his hair he kept wearing his regular clothes.
Tumblr media
Padgett losing her basically job over her valid reaction to her boyfriend cheating was a shit move. It happens too much to celebrities or influencers you can't let anyone see you look bad. She should have also texted Nisha and Cameron that it was a pool party. I liked when Cameron saved her when she froze singing. Cameron and Padgett's hang out with the horses and grand central was so cute.
Tumblr media
I loved this fight glad nothing happened to his sister and Cameron kicked his ass. He really did hold back when he was getting bullied.
Tumblr media
I loved Maddison Pettis as the fake friend, but she really went to Jordan. Girl if he cheated on Padgett, He's going to cheat on you. She knew about where Padgett really lived for a year but still dropped her for prom queen and her ex. Girl that's a dumbass reason.
Tumblr media
I was so glad when they kissed but I knew it was going to go wrong after. Also, glad she got called out by Cameron's sister. I'm glad Padgett went to prom and won. I'm mad Maddison Pettis's character didn't try to cheat her votes somehow. The speech was cute, I thought Cameron was going to show up in the middle of it on a horse. That random goth girl only showed up twice who the fuck was she? And how did she win runner up?
Tumblr media
Cameron did show up on the horse a little late but still cute I loved it. Their traveling the world montage was so cute. I also forgot the bet but getting a loser tattoo is not so bad. It's so cute that they're matching.
Overall, I liked it, it wasn't good there were issues obviously, but I enjoyed it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the end of Ted Lasso ever since the finale dropped and part of that is that I’m starting to really stop and think about season 3, which I didn’t have a chance to do before the finale because basically I was way behind and watched the entire last two seasons in like a week before the finale dropped to catch up just in time for the end. Because of my viewing experience and how I did rush through everything like that in order to be able to watch the finale when it aired, I didn’t really have a chance to analyse those seasons in any real capacity before that last episode dropped, which I now think contributed to my shock at how bad I felt the ending was. In retrospect, I actually think that the show was starting to go downhill even before season 3 first started and that this finale is the end result of that shift rather than it being this cheap shot out of left field that it first felt like it was.
First, there’s the matter of how they handle Nate’s fall from grace and his bit of a villain arc. While it’s not unrealistic for a guy to be unpopular and have no friends and then, when someone chooses to give him a chance because they think he’s just misunderstood, he turns out to be shitty, this doesn’t actually fit for Nate’s character or for the story in general. Nate is a kind of awkward guy who reads as neurodivergent and blossoms with the help and encouragement and validation that he first gets from Ted and then from the others and at the time they start this shift to the dark side with him, he’s actually in the middle of positive growth and is doing really well. There are other characters that they could have done this sort of arc with and had it make sense but, in the context of the story and Nate’s own character arc, it frankly just doesn’t really make sense. Combine that with some other aspects of how his character and this arc are written and it comes across like there’s maybe some bits of racism or perhaps also ableism floating around in the background there, especially when it comes to fucking Jade.
When Jade interacts with him, it definitely comes across as racist and potentially also ableist and classist, and yet her actions are never criticized and she’s actually rewarded by the narrative for some of this shit. Refusing to let Nate book that one table for no discernible reason is treated like a good thing for giving him an opportunity to learn and grow or whatever and when they’re actually dating and she goes behind his back to get him fired in order to force him into a life decision he doesn’t want to make, he never criticizes her for it and I think he even ends up thanking her. This is all coming from a show that, in the first season or two, showed us very solid, healthy relationships such as Roy and Keeley (regardless of if you ship it) and took the time to pick apart the makings of a healthy relationship and how it’s built on solid communication and mutual respect. For them to turn around and have Nate revert into this crude stereotype of a weird loser and then put him in a relationship built on disrespect and, dare I say, bigotry against him while having the audacity to present it like it’s good and healthy makes it feel like this is a different show entirely.
Going along with the idea of race, I also want to talk about Akufo. There are definitely more truly wealthy people in the show than just him and Jack, and yet I do take issue with how the only two people who are acknowledged to be billionaires, with a b, are a sapphic woman and a black man, since both are villains and both of their villainy is wholly rooted not just in money but in them being billionaires. I’ll talk more about Jack in a minute but I want to start with Akufo, because it makes me uncomfortable that they didn’t just create a villainous billionaire who happens to be a black African man but that his character is so… crude and gross and does stuff like have his assistant throw food at people who disagree with him. I mean, for fuck’s sake, throwback to when Sam turns him down and he is literally out here pantomiming taking a shit on him or whatever that was. It feels really racist and I just don’t understand for the life of me why they wouldn’t put in a white African billionaire based kind of on Elon Musk who’s out here with his fortune he built on Daddy’s blood money and then have that kind of character be doing all this crude, childish shit. It would’ve also added another layer to the conflict between him and Sam by introducing an element of racism and I just feel like it both would have actually made more sense and would have fixed the issues with the presentation of Akufo’s character.
As for Jack, the biggest issue is that we apparently can’t let a main character like Keeley be in a healthy, happy relationship that isn’t straight. It’s not that I think every lgbtq relationship in media needs to be nice and happy and healthy, but it just sits wrong with me that the only relationship that happens in the course of the show that is presented as being this unhealthy is the one sapphic romance featuring a main character. Don’t get me wrong — I love Colin and his bf, but Colin’s a side character and his bf is just a hair above being a nameless extra. Also, it bothers me to no end how they choose this relationship to point out issues with power imbalance but when Rebecca does it with Sam, she’s a girlboss who ✨slays✨
My other issue with the Jack situation is that, as someone else pointed out, the writers are willing to put in gay characters, but only in certain ways, and they aren’t willing to *go there* and allow existing characters to just happen to end up in lgbtq relationships with each other. Instead, it’s that we have our set, token lgbtq rep characters and they are exclusively allowed to do gay stuff with designated side characters that are invented solely for that purpose. They can invent a whole new person so Keeley can snog a girl, but they couldn’t possibly let her just do that with Rebecca, or even Sassy. Also, I was talking to my mom about Keeley and Jack’s relationship and she pointed out that while I had previously talked about how Roy and Keeley’s relationship really did a great job of showcasing the female gaze, Keeley and Jack really came across like they were written and filmed through the male gaze. In particular, she pointed out the scene when they’re in Keeley’s office and Keeley first kisses Jack and how, to my mom, that felt like the ‘girl on girl’ stuff that skeezy straight guys like to watch, and she’s right. Again, to my original point of this show going downhill, how tf did we go from a straight relationship that was the epitome of the female gaze in season 1 to a sapphic relationship that’s just more male gaze, homophobic, objectifying bullshit in season 3?
So as I start to consider all this kind of shit, suddenly that ending isn’t so shocking anymore. All it really was was a clearer demonstration of how this show has changed for the worse and it hit harder just because it was the finale and that was their chance to fix a bunch of stuff, but they didn’t. Ted Lasso is a show about hope and believing in everyone’s potential for good, so I think what happened is that, by virtue of the original messaging of the show itself, we all ended up hoping and believing in the show and the writers to become aware of their mistakes and fix them in time, just as their characters do, but they didn’t.

Okay, my friend assigned everyone in our friend group Be More Chill characters, and I got Jeremy. Is this good? What does this say about me? Thank you in advance.
Your welcome, dear anon! Any excuse to talk about my blorbos >:)
Not sure how knowledgeable about bmc you are but a basic rundown of Jeremy is that:
He’s the main character, an angsty teenager whose parents separated (his dad isn’t taking it well, has one (1) friend (Michael), is incredibly anxious about everything and is a bit of a loser, has a crush on a theatre kid named Christine, takes a pill sized supercomputer called a squip to get popular and impress this girl, and almost ends up allowing said supercomputer to take over the entire world. (oops!)
Also he’s a little neurodivergent. And very silly (there’s a whole segment where he and Christine just make Noises at each other (I love them)).
So to answer your question about “is that good?”:
I don’t really know? I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily good, but it’s not bad either. Kinda up to interpretation!
I at least can say I certainly relate to him probably the most of all the characters, and I don’t think I’m alone in this.

look, I hate to say it, but I feel like there’s definitely edgy students at Xavier’s that have crushes on Erik because they hear about him and think he’s this mysterious, suave villain, which definitely means Peter’s heard people swoon over his secret long-lost father, and that is so funny to me
bonus: Raven brings up the fact that she and Erik were a thing once just to see Peter’s reaction xD

Wanda and Erik are so similar, and poor Peter is the odd one out. I’m just imagining Erik rolling up to Wanda’s house like “get in loser, we’re going on a murder spree” and Peter, who has a strict no-killing policy, is standing in the doorway like “but DAD we never get to do ANYTHING together :(“

thinking about the Percy Jackson show that’s being made right now, and as someone who was obsessed with those books for years and then got late-diagnosed with ADHD and a learning disability (Dyscalculia), I really hope that the show actually shows how Percy struggles amongst his peers before coming to camp. I expect that the show will portray the positive aspects of neurodivergence since it’s so tied to all the character’s powers in the books (like Dyslexia being because their brains are hardwired for reading ancient Greek)--and I’m excited about that!--but I would also love to see the struggle that comes with being ND and not ever fully assimilating with NT peers.
give me a Percy Jackson who gets kicked out of school not just because he acts out or has unexplained incidents with his powers, but who struggles in school and has to repeat a grade or two because his Dyslexia is so bad. A Percy whose teachers don’t believe him when he says he’s really trying because his grades are straight D’s and F’s despite his best efforts. A Percy who is a loyal and eager friend but doesn’t always understand NT communication and doesn’t realize when he takes his sarcasm and joking too far and gets shunned for it. A Percy who, at the tender age of twelve, is totally burnt out because no one knows what to do with him, who has awful self-esteem because he’s been told his whole life that he’s failing, who believes he wasted his potential already, but whose mom is kind and understanding and fiercely defensive of him to the rest of the world because she knows her child is worth so much more than his ability to fit in or get good grades. A Percy who comes to camp and is suddenly surrounded by people just like him, who excels in battle and finds friends who just get him, who slowly relearns who he is and what he’s capable of, learning that his struggles can be strengths sometimes, and finding confidence and acceptance through this community in a way that he’s never had before.
