It's so motivating to get to increase the weights on my weight tracking sheet. I am so proud of myself for continuing to work out and follow a program despite how bad my depressive episodes have been.
It was so hard to start because progress is slow. You won't notice progress right away. It feels like "what's the point" for one day, but the days add up.
Part of what helps me push is I tell myself the time will pass anyways, and a month from now I'll see a difference. And I am! And it is so worth the reward.
This isn't exclusive to work outs though. But to a lot of different goals! The progress is small, and you might not notice day to day. But one day you'll look back and see how far you've come and please trust me that feeling is so amazing. I've felt it both for this, and for my overall recovery journey.

Friendly (genuinely friendly this time, this shit's confusing for everyone involved in it) for pjsk fandom that chronic illness ≠ frail & weak. Disability also ≠ frail and weak. I mean I'm both of these things but that's besides the point.
Being fit and sporty also doesn't mean you're no longer chronically ill and/or disabled. *Gestures to Paralympics existing like in general*. They still influence our ability to perform sports well physically but being chronically ill isn't an automatic end to someone's sport hobbies.
Saki canonically plays softball, that's like... Quite a lot of strength required there. If anything I think she's more athletic than Touya. You can write her as both disabled & good at sport I promise. That's not disrespectful to disabled people that's just making her a well-rounded character

There is this pervasive very narrow concept a lot people have of what exercising/working out is and why people do it, that it is only about losing weight and "looking hot" which makes some people more defensive or hostile to the suggestion for one reason or another, like it is an attack against them and how they look. It isnt about that, it can be about that but more than that it is an act of self care. it is about feeling better. it is about making your body as capable of maintaining your life as you can. I understand it is more difficult to some than it is for others, every single person is different and has different circumstances but doing little things to get your body moving will make you feel better, theres many ways of exercising. It isnt just lifting weights and running on a treadmill and things that can seem intimidating or inaccessible. Theres a lot of different ways and with a little research theres something out there for everyone, I have never been a fan of working out but then i tried yoga watching some youtube guides in my bedroom and it made me feel a lot better, mentally and physically. Thats all i got to say ♥️

My progress from Jan 23 to Jan 24, mental and physical growth as someone who lives with arthritis it’s been a challenge finding balance of working out and not over doing it.
Going into 2024 I think I’ve found that balance and I’m now starting to see the results of all my hard work!
I will be posting updates on here like a diary including what workouts I’ve been doing, healthy meals I’ve made and everything in between that comes with having a disability and wanted to be fit and health.
