Is there a place to download the extra comic sans unicode by any chance? My Japanese class is starting up next week and I'd love to cause mass agony.

Alright I just finished up all the kana (on my last post I still had like 5 kana left unfinished)

I made a small webpage to display it & with downloads (also has Comic Sans Mono, without japanese)

btw I want to point out something I kept in mind while designing the glyphs: characters that usually look very similar in other fonts, tend to stand out from one another a lot more in Comic Sans (in both subtle and less subtle ways). Usually when making fonts it's tempting to pick the path of least resistance and just copypaste parts of glyphs constantly; I still did do that quite a bit but I always made sure to keep this design feature in mind. For example I've always found さ and ち much easier to confuse when the さ is connected, so making the さ more distinct helped a lot imo.

(I'm not a native Japanese reader but I did get a friend to ask their Japanese friends if they had any advice and the 字形 never really came up—basically the only thing they had to say was about the letter spacing and stroke width, both of which I had already noticed by then, and since improved. I'd love to get opinions from more people though!!)

In my last entry, I pointed out the similarities between chapters 249 and 121, but I had hit the image limit and wasn’t able to embed screenshots. In one of my silly little discord games you drop cards and if you grab them you get to date them, which helps to make your cards pretty and level them up— so in the game I dropped Childe from Genshin who’s my friends fave but she’s never managed to drop him herself so she can’t date him.

So I said I’d marry him for her so I could make her card pretty, and when you date characters you have to answer questions to build your relationship with them— and so I’m looking at this guy like “He looks cute, sweet, respectable. Lemme just answer all the answers opposite to what Bakugou would say—”

And I’m picking every single answer that’s like sunshine and daisies, and wondering why I’m getting a negative red reaction every time and our affection rating isn’t increasing.

Can you tell me why my friend did NOT fucking tell me that this guy is a WAR CRIMINAL?! Mate I was so shook. So I started answering questions like he was Bakugou and suddenly our affection rating is shooting up so fast😂

RIIIGHT I had a Hawks dream recently now a Dabi one been feeling #blessed🙏 SO the Dabi dream was like a summer fling type situation from what I can remember lol it was set in like my hometown but there was a lake (which my hometown doesnt have LOL) I can’t remember much specifics but ik Toga was there too like we were chilling before Dabi came to sit with me by the lake he had his guitar🫦 So then it was just us two I was laying against him as he played🫶 then I woke up at like 2 am & luckily fell back asleep. This time the dream changed into something new where I was playing tag in a mall+hospital+movie theater with random mfs I know LOL ?? BUT while running around I was like “I should write a Dabi fic soon” so he was still on the brain

I woke up at like midnight and am trying to work on my assignment but I made the dumb choice to listen to Tikkle Me and now I can't stop thinking about Jenna Begay so feel free to ignore me. But,

Jenna is lying to everyone including herself, and has all parties fooled. It's not hard to see that a large part of Jenna's character is about how environment shapes people, and I feel you can clearly see that in how she acts. Jenna comes from a deeply impoverished and abusive household where she has shaped her identity and understanding of herself around her academic prestige because it was her escape. She manufactured this brilliant, pragmatic, and detached woman that she could hide herself in. She has separated herself from her (for lack of a better word) humanity for protection. She is obsessed with being the 'smart' and 'rational' one because she's forgotten how to be anything else and she doesn't even recognise it. If she isn't smart and rational she's nothing; there's nothing left, and she's terrified to admit that. Hell, even when she's goofing off and pranking people its not only in a way that proves her smarter than them but does so through deception; she got one over them. She's incredibly competitive because she's better than you, she knows it, and she needs you to know it too. Because if you don't think she's the best what do you think she is. When Chase and Leo got together she was alone. She had only herself for protection, and thus she lost so much of what she had left of who she was and further became what she had to be to survive. Hot take but I genuinely don't think she likes Chase romantically. I think she just saw Chase and Leo each take her best friend away from her and desperately wants them back. She want's her friends back and she wants who she was back. But she can't admit it because her wanting back what she lost is a betrayal; She has had to work so fucking hard and sacrifice so fucking much to get where she is now. And now that she's there, she doesn't remember how to stop; she takes her laptop with her on vacation to distract from the fact that she doesn't know who she is when she isn't working, to distract from the fact that she's returned to the environment that built her. She reads a textbook on the way there. The mask has become the face I could write (much) more but I need to get back to the essay I'm meant to be writing rather than starting another one lol. Is it clear that Jenna Begay is the fictional character I most relate to? anyway~ Wake Up by Tikkle Me is so Jenna Begay coded that it hurts
