Dark Light
One of Ville Valo's finest vocal work in this song. It shows off his range and skill perfectly. To me. It sounds like a prayer to Lucifer. At some point in time, Ville was Satanic(Laveyian), and he reads a lot about religion and the occult. So that would make sense. Anyway, maybe that's why I hold it so dear to me. Because that's how Lucifer came to me when I became Luciferian and Lavayian Satanic. Ville has a way of captivating me with the way he writes. He's very poetic and eloquent and it's beautiful.

if you're alive, there's no excuse
god gave you a gift that you don't know yet had a use
get out your mind, you cannot lose this one time
it could be right
I can see the hope that's in your eyes
I can see the magic in your life
but they don't know
that it took you your whole life to rediscover
try to find your purpose before you leave
life will be
just you believe in you

Come January I swear this world
Won't be the one
That we once lived on
Took an oath
Another promise sworn and broken
All that's gone
All that's gone before
All that's gone before
Has changed

“My babe would never fret none About what my hands and my body done If the Lord don’t forgive me I’d still have my baby and my babe would have me When I was kissing on my baby And she put her love down soft and sweet In the low lamplight I was free Heaven and hell were words to me.”

She's Imperfect, But she Tries.
She is Good, But she Lies
She is Hard, On Herself.
She is Broken, And won't ask for Help.
She is Messy, But she's Kind.
She is Lonely, Most of the Time.
She's All of This, Mixed up and Baked, In a Beautiful Pie.
She is Gone, But she Used to be Mine.
