wine red
simon riley x chubby!female reader
just something quick i wrote after i saw this ghost headcanon on tt :,)
“Nothin’, just don’t like how my stomach sticks out.”
Simon pauses, his expression neutral. He glances towards you, drinking in the sight of your features drawing into a small frown as you studied your reflection, hands supporting the small pudge around your belly. He notes how bloody beautiful you look in red, but looks back to his own shoes, urging back a grunt of frustration.
You never complained about your belly.
He’s been around you long enough to be aware of your insecurities, watching you pad towards the bathroom mirror and prod at your pimples, grumbling at the bump on your nose bridge, sometimes sat beside him in bed with a sparkly face mask on - it was second nature to know you, and although it pissed him off to no end, he also understood insecurities were normal.
But this - this was different. You embraced your body, curves, blemishes and all, the crooks and crevices denting your flesh - you didn’t care for the sly looks or judgemental comments, you wore whatever the hell you wanted. And if anyone had a problem, Simon would have fixed it in a heartbeat. This wasn’t your insecurity, this wasn’t a flaw, it was a part of you you loved.
Simon couldn’t handle your expression.
A sigh, a clacking of heels - you had torn your gaze away from the mirror, face scrunched up into one of those mopey frowns Simon adored, and grabbed the leather coat from the rack. It’s almost suffocating, the silence, and he does realise he needs to say something, but talking wasn’t always his strong suit. So his jaw clicks into place, shoulders broad and unmoving, gloved hands resting on his thighs.
Suddenly Simon is sixteen again and sat in front of his headteacher.
He runs his tongue along the inside of his cheek, whiskey irises boring into the back of your head before you turn with a half assed smile. Ha. He’s glad he can understand your little moods now, or else this night would’ve turned for the worse.
“Come.” The baritone of his voice draws you out of your darting thoughts. You sigh, stepping forward.
You’re not prepared for when his large hands latch onto your hips gently, pushing you forward so his head could rest on your stomach.
“Si-”
And again. You’re doing things you’ve never done before - you always let him rest on your stomach, it was never something you panicked about. A beat passes and your boyfriend lifts his head, penetrating eyes contrasting starkly against the red of your dress.
“What’s up with you?”
You purse your lips, mulling over his tone. “Nothing, just - this dress wasn’t always so… fitting.”
Simon hums roughly, and you inhale sharply at his hands stroking against your hip tenderly.
“Look’s fine to me.”
Neither of you say anything. Not a lot of words needed to be said around him, but then again, not a lot of men were like Simon. Your eyes soften, and you let your palm rest on the back of his neck, your touch making him hum again, the vibrations against your belly causing you to shudder.
“Ev’ry big boy needs his big girl.”
You laugh sweetly, and finally, he exhales quietly, welcoming the feel of your nails against his neck. He supposed it didn’t matter what the hell you thought about yourself.
Because he’d always want you.

In case you need a reminder this week… It’s okay if your body has grown. It’s okay if your body has got smaller. It’s okay to gain weight. It’s okay to want to lose weight. It’s okay if you’ve eaten more and moved less than you normally would in the last month. What’s not okay is to think that you’re a bad person, or that you’ve ‘failed’, for any of that. YOU have not changed as a person just because your body has. The only thing that’s changed about you is the size of knickers you wear. Cool. Who cares. So it’s really super okay if your body has changed. Because are exactly the same person as you were before? Course not! So we can’t expect our bodies to remain EXACTLY THE SAME either! LOVE YOU 💖

DISABILITY PRIDE MONTH QUOTE 12
Tumblr media
Wednesday, July 24, 2024
“My flesh is of the earth, like all bodies. But so is the body of my wheelchair, the titanium extracted from the crust of the earth, an element that happens to be found in Canada. The same crust of ancient rock I crawled across as a kid contains the element needed to build my wheelchair.” – Erin Clark

Forced to be Toxic and Unreal
I'll be honest, I've been part of the problem. As a white American heterosexual male, I've spent countless hours looking up pictures of sexy women, mindlessly scrolling through same homogenous images of women: large breasts, tiny waists, flawless skin, and vacant expressions. It's only recently, with the Supreme Court's disturbing rulings and the vitriol surrounding them, that I've realized how deeply ingrained the objectification of women is in our culture. It's a sickening truth that women have been shouting for decades, while many men, myself included, have turned a blind eye. It's easier to believe in a fair world, a meritocracy, than to confront the uncomfortable reality that women are often viewed as tools or objects, not fully human.
This distorted perception seeps into every aspect of our lives, from casual conversations to the highest levels of power. It's in the filters and algorithms that bombard women with impossible beauty standards, erasing their pores, smoothing their wrinkles, and chipping away at their self-worth. It's in the endless stream of AI-generated images that present a single, narrow vision of beauty, denying the kaleidoscope of shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities that make up the human experience.
This lack of diversity isn't just an aesthetic issue; it's a reflection of the deep-seated biases that permeate our society and our technology. AI, with its infinite creative potential, is being used to regurgitate the same tired tropes, reinforcing the harmful idea that women's worth lies solely in their adherence to an unrealistic ideal. This lack of imagination, this inability to see beyond a single, narrow definition of beauty, is a symptom of a society that equates emotions and vulnerability with weakness, a society that teaches boys to suppress their creativity and conform to rigid gender roles.
It makes me wonder, how many men are endlessly searching for a partner who fits the mold they've been told they want, a fantasy that's both unattainable and ultimately unfulfilling? This pursuit of an idealized image, fueled by harmful stereotypes, distorts our perception of women and perpetuates a cycle of objectification and dissatisfaction.
This whole thing just makes me mad. We've built a world that squashes creativity, limits our understanding of beauty, and shoves these awful stereotypes down everyone's throats. It's like we're all stuck in this loop, generation after generation, men and women both getting hurt by it. We have to break free, for our own sake and for each other. We need to demand better. We need to see each other, truly see each other, in all our messy, glorious complexity. We need to celebrate the beauty that comes in every shape, size, and color. This world needs more than a fix that comes from technology. The world needs understanding, kindness, and courage to embody both as the new standards of beauty. Beauty isn't a competition; it's a spectrum, and everyone deserves a place on it.

Just posting because I don't have anything really new and everything I'm doing now are commissions I can't show yet. So here some old traditional works I still really like!
I really miss drawing things like this. I feel all I do is work lately.

Body Image (Issues) (TW) Masterlist
Am I Pretty? (ao3) - FayeHunter luke/ashton M, 2k
Summary: Luke's having a hard time adjusting to being home from Australia
Appetites (ao3) - ashton_cuddles94 luke/ashton M, 3k
Summary: Luke had always been skinny, and always had what he thought was a normal appetite.
Ashton loved Luke, but didn’t realise how much the blonde boy ate, until he started piling on the pounds.
Body of a God (ao3) - orphan_account luke/ashton E, 1k
Summary: To Luke, Ashton was a god. He wasn't just beautiful, he was a gorgeous oil work, every brush stroke delicately painting him. Ashton was a statue carved from marble, every bump and curve meticulously creating his silhouette.
Enough (ao3) - FayeHunter luke/ashton M, 2k
Summary: Luke is a little sensitive about how he looks and Ashton gives him love
I'll Wrap My Arms Around You Now (ao3) - nic_96 luke/ashton, michael/calum T, 13k
Summary: The one where Michael is very insecure about his body and stops letting Calum cuddle him but Calum like to cuddle, cuddling is very important to their relationship and Calum is cuddle deprived and frustrated and Luke knows too much and Ashton is adorable.
Insecure (ao3) - ashton_cuddles94 T, 1k
Summary: Ashton has gained some weight on tour and is feeling insecure.
Let Me See You (ao3) - tinyglitterrose michael/ashton T, 2k
Summary: “You are the most beautiful, most attractive man I have ever seen, Ash. And I want us to work on you seeing that the same way, okay? I want you to grow comfortable to be shirtless around me, around other people. And then I want you to become confident of your thighs, baby. I want you to be able to take your pants off in front of me and be proud of those wide beautiful muscled pieces of legs you have. I want you to freaking dance naked in the shower, while I’m standing next to you, okay?”
or Ashton is feeling insecure and Michael, the awesome boyfriend he is, makes him feel better.
make you blush (ao3) - dazedlight (opinionoutpost) luke/ashton T, 5k
Summary: "Luke peers up, and he's sure his heart does stop this time as he shrinks in on himself, worrying at his bottom lip. He really doesn't need this right now. In fact, he needs the opposite of this – he really, really doesn't want to talk to Ashton Irwin at this moment, or any moment, to be honest, because he thinks his stomach might fall out of his ass if he tries."
Or, Luke is a dweeby Year 10 who has a crush on the star of the musical.
Reflections (ao3) - punchinginadream luke/ashton M, 4k
Summary: Ashton doesn't like his body. Luke decides to fuck him in front of a mirror to show him how beautiful he really is.
rhythm (ao3) - lifewasradical luke/ashton E, 6k
Summary: The crowd laughs with Ashton, and Ashton laughs along too, but the laugh is all wrong. It’s not Ashton’s signature giggle, it doesn’t overflow out of his body and crinkle his eyes as it erupts. It’s not Ashton’s laugh, at least not a genuine one.
It’s clipped at the edges, just a little pitiful sound that no one else would know isn’t right, but Luke knows there’s something self-deprecating just below the surface, scratching at the tissue in his throat as it claws its way from his chest.
Soft (ao3) - lightsinthefloors ot4 G, 2k
Summary: 3 times Ashton notices that the boys seem to be strangely fond of his midsection and 1 time he asks about it.
Or
The boys really love Ashton’s tummy
Subject Line - @daydadahlias (cornflowerblue (daydadahlias)) calum/ashton E, 20k
Summary: Maybe the sunrise doesn’t matter much after all. Calum can watch the sunrise any day. How many days will he get Ashton like this? Shirtless, sporting bedhead in a hotel room, with just the two of them for a few lazy hours alone?
Soon enough, they’ll be back on the tour bus and Calum won’t be allowed to hold Ashton’s hand anymore.
The Brambles Are Bare, And I'm Hollow Inside. (ao3) - orphan_account michael/luke, calum/ashton T, 5k
Summary: Michael is sad and his thighs don't look like thighs.
The Sweetness (ao3) - FayeHunter luke/ashton E, 2k
Summary: Luke wakes up one morning to Ashton staring at himself in the mirror. Luke reminds Ashton how much he loves him.
Your Insecurities Make You Who You Are (ao3) - orphan_account michael/calum N/R, 3k
Summary:
"Cal?" Michael sighed out, voice sounding tired. "Yeah?" Calum asked, pressing his palms flat to the door. "Do...do you think I'm fat?" And if Calum was worried before, he was on the edge of full-on panic now. "What? No, baby, not at all." He said, hands pressing harder against the door than before. "Luke said I was." Michael mumbled softly.
Or the one where Michael is insecure, and Calum wants to show him how much he loves his faults.

The shadow of doubt always follows me around.
But then I realized I was no longer standing in the shadow.
I also realized I had created the shadow by blocking the light.

Pull up to your street
It's a meet and greet
It's depressing, you're nothing
You're so obsessed with me
I just came to eat
Let me sink my teeth
I'm sitting pretty disgusting
And you're all watching me
