I’m sick of Goodreads, so I was looking through the App Store and it was surprising how many new apps there are for books.

Especially if they enjoy novels containing: - fae - witches - angst-free queerness - romance - a cozy noblebright mood even amid magical disaster - '90s cover bands I seek reviewers and general word-of-mouth-spreaders for my novel Ballad for Jasmine Town, which contains all of the above. Tirrrrred of book reviews being like "ew this isn't kink this is a literal crime" instead of "I'm a fan of these particular themes usually but this author did them horribly."

Like people can dislike what they dislike and talk about it, make videos, whatever. But why is it IMPOSSIBLE to find a book reviewer that doesn't judge the kink something was clearly written for.

I don't even think the books they're reviewing sound that good storywise, either! But it's because of the writer's choicesssss. It's because of bad writing and story developmenttttt.
