China has launched the world’s first commercial 10G broadband network in Xiong’an, Hebei Province, achieving download speeds up to 9,834 Mbps and upload speeds around 1,008 Mbps, with latency as low as 3 milliseconds. This initiative, a collaboration between Huawei and China Unicom, utilizes 50G Passive Optical Network (PON) technology, enhancing data transmission over existing fiber-optic infrastructure .
The deployment of this ultra-fast network in Xiong’an—a city envisioned as a high-tech innovation hub—supports advanced applications such as 8K video streaming, cloud gaming, virtual and augmented reality experiences, and smart city technologies . This development positions China at the forefront of broadband technology, surpassing current top speeds in other leading nations .

Why were pigeons abandoned? I’m assuming because technology replaced them but I can’t find a source
There wasn't a big need for them after the war and pigeons are culturally significant to a lot of people. They were a cheap source of food and fertilizer but (i know how I'm going to sound when I say this and I apologize) but my theory is the government did it on purpose to not only take a very useful livestock from the common knowledge of the American people but to also purposefully sow hate against different cultures.
#im basing this off my observations as an American.#americans really dont like pigeons but that isnt the case globally tbh#remember when a pigeon beat broadband internet in a race?#i dont think its that technology replaced them because not every pigeon is a racing or carrier pigeon

As we navigate the digital age, connectivity continues to drive technological progress. While 5G has already transformed the way we live and work with faster speeds and more reliable networks, the world is now turning its attention to the next big leap: 6G. Even though 5G is still rolling out globally, researchers, engineers, and tech companies are already dreaming up what 6G could bring to the table. But what exactly is 6G connectivity, and why should we be excited about it?

I'm a Zillenial and my parents were early adopters of broadband, so I was too young to remember the days when internet wasn't broadband (and my parents wouldn't let infant-me go on the internet anyway).
My family did have one holdout for AOL dial-up though-- a pair of family friends who stuck by it until 2008-ish. I remember finding it annoying and wondering why they didn't just switch over to the internet that doesn't need the phone.
They said it was less expensive, but I don't know if that was actually true.
Do you guys remember when the house first got a broadband connection and suddenly people could use the internet whenever without tying up the phone line. Nothing in life has ever felt as luxurious a life upgrade as that did.
