Please send some light & positivity to my hero of a wife + life partner, who recently gave birth to our second child on December 2nd; a wondrously beautiful little angel named Ella Salam (آلاء سلام) 🕊 On the eve of the release of this #CloseMyEyes project, our baby girl was checked into the nicu at @childrensla, where an incredible team of doctors & nurses were able to diagnose & treat what we came to find out was a rare condition causing lymphatic fluid to leak into the cavity between her lung & chest, making it very difficult for her to breathe. Several chest tubes, dozens of X-rays & three long weeks later I am grateful to report that our baby girl / warrior princess is finally home & doing much better al7amdulillah ✨🤲🏼✨ Needless to say this ordeal helped put a lot of things in perspective for #MrsOffendum & I, both in terms of how blessed we are & what truly matters most in this life ... Still trying to find the language to adequately convey the range of emotions being felt over the last few weeks, but these three things I know for sure: 1) Babies are incredibly resilient & I’m so proud of my daughter #EllaSalam for winning such a tough battle this early in life; the sky isn’t even the limit for you my star 💫 ... 2) Doctors + Nurses treating newborns are some of the most empathetic humans on Earth & I am so grateful for their noble service to humanity 🙏🏼 ... 3) The support of family & close friends in moments like these is priceless (especially Grandmas & Aunties) 💞 My deepest gratitude to the village of extraordinary people actively helping us create a loving home for our #children to blossom & thrive insha’Allah ... #Sinsyrianly 🧿 #OmarOffendum. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsbmZLYh_WN/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=4j1vgh87ba6d
