Tim, officially, does not have a new caretaker.
Tim, unofficially, does have a new caretaker.
A large, large man with long flaming purple hair that was capable of touching the floor if it didn't move like fire with sharp glowing green eyes and a neutral, if a bit of a resting bitch face, expression on his face.
Comparatively, he was not dressed oddly. Nothing but a white compression shirt, grey sweatpants and a pair of black sandals. The only thing odd about it was the sword constantly strapped to his waist, though Tim ignored it when he saw the man using it to chop ingredients.
Fright, he called himself, and Tim never asked if it was his actual name or not. He was just glad someone came over as constantly as he does.
He doesn't know where the man goes at night, after making sure he's tucked into bed and asleep, but he never pried. Mostly because he wasn't supposed to know that, and he doesn't want Fright to catch onto the fact that he was constantly sneaking out at night either.
So they'll both keep their secrets.
===
Fright Knight was at a loss with himself.
His master, Pariah Dark, had been once again released from the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep and he wasted no time to return to his side. Even with his previous betrayl.
The events that followed were unexpected.
His master did not continue his eons long war with life. Though it had long since turned silent with his imprisonment, it was still brewing under the current of 'peace' that the Ghost Zone fell into.
Fright Knight knew that well.
So, what exactly was he supposed to do when his master returned to his time as naught but a humble farmer and started to rebuild the bridge he had long burnt with the Master of Time?
He felt... conflicted.
Of course, reconnecting with the Ghost of Time was a good thing, and he has been subject to witness just how much passion they had for each other during days long past.
But his master picking up a life that was not one honed through blood was always an odd thing for him to experience. Two peas in a pod, as some would say they were.
War and Fear.
Where War went, Fear followed. Rivers of flowing blood with storms of fear promised was something too tempting for him to resist.
Fear was a sword, and he was War's blade.
So it was not something easy for him to adjust to when War settled down into peace and sought prosperity instead of his namesake. Of course, he, as always, adjusted regardless of the situation and followed his master in his newest endeavor.
It was much harder to preserve a life, than it was to end it. They both came to realize. On his master's part, farming was something he pondered over and donned for a brief time eons ago, the new methods of today clashing wildly with what little he knew of the activity before War sung to him again. For Fright Knight, he had not a single nail's worth of experience in the act, never having had an interest like War did and as such, never learned.
It felt rather odd to use his blade to cut gifts from the land, but if he replaced them with images of enemies long since snuffed, it wasn't exactly hard.
He could not stay there for long; however, it was just too... different, from what he was used to. The Ghost King knew this and told him he was free to be left to his own devices so long as it did not affect the rules the Master of Time had set for them.
Or rather, War. But as Fear was in his service, he was not exactly exempt from said constraints, either.
So he wandered, keeping to his 'human' persona he was told to set for himself here. He was thankful that these beings called Meta's existed as no one gave him more than a second glance.
Though if that was more something to do with his height he did not know.
He came upon a city, one of shadows and filled with curses in numbers that even made him pause in slight bafflement. Lady Gotham, the city's spirit, brushed against him as soon as he stepped foot within her haunt, and it did not take long for them to reach and accord.
Fear was allowed to stay, so long as he did not do anything she did not permit. He was fine with said rules, after all, what was another constraint compared to those set by Time itself?
He had a favorable view of this city, just the ambient fear alone made it worth stepping inside. It was better than War's attempt at peace, though it was nothing due to the being itself he was just... used to being surrounded by fear.
Then he met a human child by the name of Timothy Drake. A meeting by chance and nothing else, but he did need something to do by Lady Gotham's suggestion.
So he became the boy's 'caretaker' though if he were a good one was something he could not comment on.
He did not need sleep, his new ward did, so when night fell, he always stepped out of the city to go back to his master and reappeared the next morning.
The thing about his new master's attempt at peace, was that he was quite willing to give away the gifts he received from the land. Which was helpful, considering he had no idea how to acquire money in this new age.

Fear vs Family Reunions
Wonder Woman: This is nice! Its not very often i get to connect with this side of my family.
Fright Knight: Indeed. It is rare to have such civil conversation with my family, free of any drama.
Wonder Woman: Fear? You don't often get with the family?
Fright Knight: No. War is never good for children. Even its own children are not spared. Mother Love would have been better off with the Forge. He treated my brother and i more kindly than War ever did.
Wonder Woman: I'm so sorry to hear that. I hear you are sworn to a new king? Is this one better than Pariah or do i need to overthrow a tyrant?
Fright Knight: HA! No no no. This king is much more peaceful. Where Pariah was fire, Phantom is ice. He is more than happy to let the Realms govern itself rather than conquer it for himself. Though he does stress himself with keeping the balance between our worlds. War would have been a easier tool for it.
Wonder Woman: You speak against your Father but encourage his craft?
Fright Knight: I do not acknowledge him as my father or support his craft. I merely acknowledge as a tool to use. I mean the threat of a war to scare others into peace not the actual use of it. My liege would never threaten anyone with something he did not intend to use anyway, so there will be no threat.
Wonder Woman: Your king is perhaps wiser than you in matters of ruling.
Fright Knight: Indeed. I am a warrior, not a ruler or politician. I lead armies, not rule kingdoms. But speaking of war. Where did you put my.... male progenitor?
Wonder Woman: Ares- sorry, War is a god. We couldn't arrest him, so we handed him to a government organization that deals with the supernatural. I believe its called the GIW.
Fright Knight: .....
Wonder Woman: What? Is something wrong?
Fright Knight: I fear you have made a catastrophic- no a apocalyptic mistake. I must return to my king immediately. *Fright Knight summons and mount his nightmare steed* I suggest you take a Batman size look at the GIW and realize your mistake.

The ghost war pr1
"Dear Justice leaders, I, King of the infinite realms, high King phantom. Has requested a meeting of the diplomatic level tonight at 6:00 p.m. My fright knights and I will meet you to discuss issues regarding my people please be prepared and await our arrival.""Long reign the king and may the infinite grant us peace and prosperity."
The Justice League was in an emergency meeting that was surprisingly called by John Constantine. Everyone in the League knew about the infinite realms and the terrifying king that ruled. But the knights? They were kept under wraps, they worked in the shadows of the realms.
Now that they know that the King of the infinite realm will be at the Watchtower in minutes? It's terrifying, and the leaguers had all hands on deck and they needed to know what was coming.
John started "there are four knights, but don't let the numbers fool you, one of them could replace an army. They are all undoubtedly loyal to the king and will do whatever he asks."
"The First one is the King's right hand, he is the Red knight. He is the Spirit of Sanctuary and he has Soul Shredder. To put it short when the Soul Shredder cuts someone, they are teleported to an alternate dimension where their greatest fears become real."
"The second one is Sir Wren Hallow, he is the fright knight, and he is the Spirit of Halloween. He used to serve the pariah dark but after king phantom took the crown he began to served him. He is the co-leader of the military and he is more calmed down but is still brutal."
"Then there's the King's sister the Spirit of Freedom. She is the other co-leader of the military, and despite wanting freedom she is ruthless. She is also the unspoken leader of the Fright Knights."
"Last one is The Spectre they are a divine entity representing vengeance on behalf of The Presence, considered God in the context of Abrahamic religion. They are the Spirit of Retribution, and will put the punishment they see fit which 9 times out of 10 isn't bloody Sunshine and rainbows."
After John finished his speech and left the Leaguers speechless. These knights could probably go toe to toe with the league but even Batman had to admit with the king? The Justice League had no chance if it was a fair fight.
Superman was the one to break the silence "Do they have any weakness, or a way to give us a chance?"
Constantine sighed and put his hands in his hair, brushing it back. "No, they have no kryptonite, no rocks or gadgets that could even slow them down. The only thing I can think of is hope we can help the king."
The Justice Leaguers fell back into silence and they waited for about a minute. Then the Watchtower began to get colder and darkness began to swirl into a slow tornado. John eyed the other Leaders and gave them a look them screamed one thing "that's them".

Danny crawled out of the destroyed suit and was panting drained as he looked up to Pariah. The rings of light appeared and disappeared around him. He was forcing himself to stay in his ghost form but failing as regions of his body turned human. He was going in and out of consciousness.
"You have lost boy. Time to bring you to death's embrace," Pariah said as he raised his scythe.
Danny didn't want to die. Vlad’s voice rang out, but Danny didn't register as Pariah Dark swung. Ice shot all around him. It erupted around him into not only a barrier but spikes shooting outward. The ghostly scythe was encased in ice and the ice spikes impaled Pariah in multiple places through his armor. His eye widened as these wounds were lethal. The poison Plague Bearer afflicted him with sapping him of ecto energy at the beginning of the fight had finally shown its benefit. Pariah Dark went limp.
"That... was a surprise...." Pariah Dark said as his crown lost its flames tumbling to the ground. "To think a soul whose half dead and alive would come to take my power.."
"A fitting end to the King of Death no?" Plague bearer's remarked as he stumbled over too weak to fly.
The army was crumbling, returning to nothing as if never there to begin with, and the allies Danny recruited slowly came inside, entering the keep. To see what had happened and if Danny had won. The sight that greeted them was unexpected. They expected him to be back in the sarcophagus of forever sleep. Shock crashed into the ghosts like a wave.
"So true.. h-how long were you planning... this?" Pariah Dark was becoming weaker and weaker. His body was seemingly fading, drifting into the ice and into Danny.
"What's going on?!" Vlad called as he rushed over and began to melt the ice near Danny.
"The Rite of Conquest. The four of us were special ghosts. Very special indeed. Our powers are able to be inherited. Whoever is able to defeat us in combat inherits our powers and burden. Once each of us looked after the Ghost Zone. Pariah Dark acted as the keeper of the denizens. Fright Knight maintained the peace, ceasing war and conflict. I maintained their health. And lastly the Soul Devourer dealt with the Ghost Zone itself. Together we were to maintain peace but it went wrong..." His voice became full of regret.
"How.. long... plague...?" Pariah Dark asked. He struggled to speak his voice losing strength.
"I have lost track of the centuries," Plague Bearer said.
Pariah Dark gave a chuckle, "My... reign... is over." He fully vanished, drifting into the ice and into Danny Phantom.
Vlad melted the ice finally and held Danny who was unconscious and back in his human form. Vlad raised his body heat to warm him as the crown glowed and drifted over to Danny's head. It became encased in blue green flames and Danny rose up. The ring of power drifted upwards floating onto his finger, and he became wrapped in flames. In a blinding flash Danny appeared far different. A white cloak with black fur and thorns was draped over black and white armor. Armor that seemed shattered in places showing ice and spikes. He floated back down. Vlad shielded his eyes and he held Danny who groaned as he opened his eyes.
“The whelp is now the Ghost King?!” Skulker called.
“Plot twist,” Ember said.
“I say we deal with this new king before he breaks any rules,” Warden added.
“No. That would be unwise. We are all injured and cannot fight since we cannot regenerate our wounds. Let’s see what the halfa does,” Sidney said firmly.
“Ugh what happened,” Danny asked.
“We won,” Vlad said, giving Danny a smile but it was laced with shock and hints of fear.
Danny sat up and when he heard the clinking of metal he froze and looked down. “What happened to me?!” He called alarmed.
“The Rite of Conquest. You are now the Ghost King,” Fright Knight said kneeling to his new master.

Since my fanfic as it stands won't be finished i thought i would share what i had written. I might just redo this fic which is likely. I shared the scene pariah would have been fully defeated and danny the ghost king

----------------👻👻👻---------------
Addendums to previous:
• Danny was not cut by the Nightmare blade.
• Vlad's wild animal frankensteined attack ghosts hated him, but feared him. Probably because he murdered them to turn them into ghosts. It's unclear if he frankensteined them into chimaeras after they died, or before the animals died.
• There's some discussion in notes if the brain surgeon comment was just Danny being sarcastic or exaggerating. (I wonder if it's Danny making a quip by comparing Jazz's psychoanalysis dissection to brain surgery.)
• To clarify the vore part, Jack unknowingly ate Skulker. (He's a ghost so he was probably able to phase out of Jack, eventually?)
----------------👻👻👻---------------
From notes and from my admittedly somewhat spotty memory of the show. These are facts I find interesting, or I think should get more use in fanfiction.
Additional random facts:
• The Fentons have a dungeon in the basement somewhere. With a functional Iron Maiden that Jack wanted to use to punish Danny. He calls it the Fenton Stockades if I recall right.
• The basement has to be multi-level or something, because they have the lab, the dungeon, and a garage (because the Spectre Speeder is parked down there too) under the house. A weapons/invention vault is probably down there too (Danny armed his entire class with Fenton gear).
• Jack said he was in the army and went to war.
• Jack said he had to eat a horse. But he had wanted a pony.
• The Fentons have a Jetsons style vacuum tube transport system as one of the ways to get into the Ops Center.
• Danny learned to speak and understand Gorilla just by observing a purple-backed gorilla for short time for a school project.
• Dash has a Chihuahua named Pookie that he dotes on.
• Danny can go into videogames and possess/replace his character.
• Sam has a moped scooter she drives.
• Sam has an arrangement to get almost anything she orders directly delivered to her in an incredibly short time.
• Sam is good with a medieval mace.
• Sam is the team's occultist lore master and has a bunch of occult books she researched to find how to defeat Fright Knight.
• Danny can fly the space shuttle, the Fenton blimp (which turns into a jet), and the Spectre Speeder. (Someone had to teach Sam and Tucker how to drive the Fenton vehicles).
• There's some kind of giant cryptid sea monster fish in Lake Eerie(?) that Jack is aware of and fished for with Danny. But it's important to note that Jack didn't act as if the monster was a ghost. (Proof the Fentons are aware of other kinds of cryptid supernatural beings?)
• Tucker created/modified a robot to replace Danny so his parents wouldn't notice he was missing when he took off to be Phantom for extended periods. They didn't notice the swap. The Fenbot is obviously a robot and doesn't look much like Danny.
• I think it was the school that had students use experimental brain training helmets to download information directly into their brains.
• The Fentons created a device to translate ghost speak to English. It just repeats what Danny says, and tacks on, "Fear me!" at the end.
• The Fentons created a device that looks like a giant dreamcatcher and it is meant to separate ghosts from possessed humans. But it also can split halfas into multiple personalities/ghost and human halves. Reversing it recombines the parts. (Can it split full ghosts? Liminal humans?)
• The Yetis of the Far Frozen aren't just healers. They're recognized as powerful warriors and were one of the few resistance holdouts against Pariah Dark in the past. They've actually got high tech flying chariot things they patrol their territory on. Their military strength is part of why they guard artifacts like the Infi-Map.
• Youngblood's skeleton parrot companion can shape shift. He became a skeleton horse when Youngblood 'played' with Danny and Jazz as a Cowboy.
• Unicorns are mean as hell and are some of the evils trapped inside Pandora's Box.
• Pandora and Maddie teamed up and sort of bonded before Maddie found out that Danny was Phantom.
• Jack helped Phantom escape other ghost hunters without knowing that he was Danny.
• Danny once pretended Phantom stole his face (literally off his head) and ran off as a distraction to his parents.
• Danny canonically fails at scaring anyone when he actually tries.
• At one point, a giant ghost Kaiju amorphous monster attacked Amity. Val saw it reported on the news, and from a distance out the window, from her new family apartment in Amity's sister city/town, Elmerton.
• When ghosts possess humans, they keep most, if not all, of their powers. When Walker and his guards took over Amity, the possessed humans were flying, phasing intangible, and fighting Phantom.
• Phantom can morph his ghost body like putty, forming holes so shots go through the hole instead of hitting him, or going intangible. He also separated sections of his body and then merged the pieces back together.
• Phantom and Ellie can shoot ecto blasts from more than just their hands or eyes. Ellie can blast from kicks. Phantom shot a blast from his butt.
• Tucker is good at archery.
• Tucker is a reincarnated Egyptian sorcerer Pharaoh.
• Maddie is a ninth degree black belt and taught both her kids before Danny's accident.
• During time traveling shenanigans, Vlad took over ancient Rome as emperor before Danny caught up, but their fighting set the city on fire. Danny fought in the Colloseum chariot races.
• During time traveling, Danny, Sam, and Tucker were in ancient Japan(?) long enough to disguise themselves as locals and infiltrate the temple before Vlad arrived to steal from the temple.
• Danny knows how to use a katana style blade. He sword fought with Vlad in ancient Japan (?).
• Vlad owns multiple companies. He openly owns VladCo. He bought out Axion Labs. He secretly owns DalvCo.
• Vlad injected Jazz with nanites and tried to force her and Danny to fight each other to the death.
• Valerie's Red Huntress suit was upgraded by Technus and seems part of her, like nanites.
• Vlad's ecto-acne was actually caused by Jack adding soda to the proto-portal prototype that blasted Vlad in the face.
• Vlad intentionally infected Danny's friends with ecto-acne to force him to find a cure for Vlad. This means he knows how to make it contagious.
• Vlad had successfully created a 'perfect' male Danny clone and just needed mid-morph DNA to stabilize him to release safely from stasis. Danny had to helplessly watch him melt as soon as his tube was opened. Later, Dani/Ellie melted in his arms and he thought she died before he managed to stabilize her enough to pull herself back into human form. (That's some grade A trauma there.)
• Danny blew up Vlad's mansion as part of a prank war. This child has no brakes when he gets caught up in something too deeply.
• Freakshow used the Reality Gauntlet to turn himself into a ghost. Pretty sure the GIW took him into custody. (Is he still a ghost? Is he still in the hands of the GIW? I don't recall.)
• The GIW scrambled jets to shoot missiles at Danny, and shot up the Amity observatory with missiles because they thought they were shooting at Phantom. It was that exchange student instead.
• The GIW has jetpacks.
• Cujo is likely a younger ghost than Danny is. Damon Gray, Valerie's father, had recently overhauled and upgraded security at Axion Labs. The security dogs used before the overhaul were implied to have been put down, because they weren't needed anymore. Cujo was one of them, his tag had an Axion symbol. Cujo appeared for the first time when Damon Gray was showing off the latest security. While Cujo truly just wanted his toy back, it could be argued that while Val blamed the ghost dog for ruining her family's life, Damon authorized his death.

King Pariah Dark.
There’s no way that’s his real name.
It sounds like a Sith lord name. Then again, lots of ghosts have edgy self-chosen names, don’t they?
But there’s also no way he’s anybody’s actual king.
Maybe when he was alive, he was a king. A really bad one. So bad that the people revolted and exiled/executed him. He calls himself “Pariah” out of self-pity.
I’m probably not the first to say this, but I don’t think the “ghost king” actually has any political power over the Ghost Zone. It seems that ghosts are kind of ungovernable by nature. Even those in positions of relative authority like Walker or Aragon only seem to be so as part of the mechanics of their unique purposes as ghosts, and they only “rule” over those in their own domains. They may vie for more power, but it’s more of a scrappy turf war kind of thing. Greater bodies like the Watchers and Clockwork seem to be the closest thing to formal organization, but it hardly seems related to the King. And Danny consistently struggles to wrangle any number of ghosts to do anything under one banner, so clearly nobody sees the Ghost Zone as a kingdom. It’s more like the wild west. Law of beasts. Every specter for itself. Yadda yadda.
So then, why is there a crown? Why is Fright Knight there to serve it?
Here’s my theory.
The Ghost Zone is memetic, right? Its entities and architecture are born from consciousness, impulse, and intent that reflect the living world. Including objects (the Infimap, Fright Knight’s Sword, dragon amulets, etc.). Call them cursed objects.
What if the crown is a cursed object that reflects a desire for power and control based on fear. The crown feeds on that potent emotional energy from its wearer to sustain itself. In exchange, the wearer gets a massive power boost. (I bet Pariah wasn’t always that big.) the Crown is conscious enough to want to exist, so it’s motivated to keep generating that fear. It deludes the wearer. Makes them hallucinate. Whispers to them. Tempts them with powers that could eliminate all their problems with force. But it’s never that simple, is it? It only ever creates more conflict. More enemies. More fear. More power.
The crown is the embodiment of man’s need for dominance. Every entitled insecure thought and action that justified taking an ounce of control or capital from someone else. And the absolute terror and anguish at losing it all. A beacon of power and a vacuum of loss. A prize claimable by taking down the biggest dog in the yard. (The crown can’t be worn by anyone except its paired champion—the wearer must be destroyed to pass it on. The change is instant the second the old King is gone.) I guarantee there’s no shortage of dead rulers and aspiring egomaniacs in the Ghost Zone desperate to have that kind of security and agency… and scared angry people who just want some peace. I bet that’s why they built the coffin.
Fright Knight might have once been a captain who followed his king into tyranny. He refused to question his orders to avoid facing the meaning of his actions. In death, without the enforcement of command, he was lost. So he went looking for something to help reassure him. Rather than taking the Crown from its wearer, he swore his ghostly soul to it. He became the Crown’s executor—physically unable to resist its will. Why would he want to? As far as he’s concerned, fear is how the world works.
Pariah is only the latest King, and others will follow. My money’s on Vlad… But in the wrong moment of a heroic action, it could be Danny. I wonder what the Crown would whisper to either of them.

Okay, but *War* and *Fear* abducting unaccompanied minors is objectively a horrorifying concept. Also, what does this mean for Gotham as a whole? Especially during No Man's Land?
