Same lighting conditions, roughly same distance (As best as I could eyeball it, per usual, lol)

Ran out of nighttime to keep doing more photos of my new sets

(Got through three of them just here this morning - I knew it was probably getting too late to really do many, but I wanted to at least get some done.

I like having nighttime so that I can totally get the most dramatic effects from the lights I have - And especially with me not having blinds/curtains here, the morning light definitely becomes noticeable)

I probably won't do the 1:1 comparison for all of my new sets, but I was curious

It's interesting - yes, the new camera is 3 MP more by default, but the (presumably optical?) zoom default (3x instead of 2x) and dimensions are also different - Not to mention, I'm sure there's different image processing going on

If I was a more technical/savvy photographer, I might grouse about that and disable everything that doesn't let me control my own settings 100%. But I'm just a dumb-dumb when it comes to that sort of stuff, so I suppose if it wants to pretty-up my shots (and seems to know what it's doing) - Then, fine by me.

I really like the new default dimensions - It was awkward taking photos with the right half of the frame going into the UI and, like, I don't really need a full, huge landscape-scale photo length, generally.

Guess I'll have to see how I feel about that when it comes to taking photos out in the real world, though.

I am gonna have to find and get used to the new proper angles for shooting given the new dimensions, though. Or just actively crop photos when they're unbalanced. But I'm lazy.

I guess, one thing about going several years between phones - Certain things definitely do feel like upgrades, y'know?

So my new (2nd/replacement) Digital Camera Arrived:

So After Deciding that i'm just gonna return the Vivitar Camera I got early in the week, I ended up buying this KODAK PIXPRO AZ405 Camera, which just arrived a few hours ago.

As for the last Camera Tests i'm using Brenda as a Model. From Left to Right for both top and Bottom rows: Vivitar, Pixel 2 Phone, and Kodak:

In terms of the overall image my Pixel 2 Phone looks the best, but the Kodak isn't too far behind as far as Image quality (even if the lighting is kinda off on the settings I was using.

After Fiddling around with the settings and turning on the flash, I snapped these two pics, which ended up really selling me on this camera:

Having the Flash was a gameganger with my default room lighting (Which I could also say with my phone but it would just die if I tried using the Flash. The Image Quality here is pretty on Par with My Phone. Additionally the lightbulbs I have in my fan have 2 settings so I may be able to adjust my lighting.

So far I am Overall REALLY Happy with this Kodak Camera. It's such a vast improvement from the Vivitar (even if it's more awkward to hold), and is relatively on par with my pone as far as image quality goes for the kinds of pics I take. I still need to do an Outside Test (which I can't do until Wednesday at the earliest because work).

after driving for an hour and a half I have many thoughts, among them sort of a Unified Theory of Stede Bonnet (I am about to roast myself quite badly) - if he gets out of his own head, he does great but when he gets in his own head, that's when he can't quite make it work: trying to put on the captain voice vs "stand down", the bit where he threatens the French captain vs just whirling around with "that was your warning" - it's a funny line about getting out in the field and his body takes over but also it's absolutely the truth

I JUST REALIZEd. Lcsys as the Truman show (if you haven't watched that, it's about this guy who gets his life entirely broadcasted as a TV show but he doesn't know about it)

OOHHH yes >:O It's been a while since I've seen the movie so I wasn't able to remember many specific details, but like a lot of people that last scene really stuck with me

There's an added level of weirdness that Es has to come to terms with when the reveal finally happens -- the fact that this audience actually knows more about them than themself. (I think if it were real, Milgram's dedicated fanbase could have tracked down Es' true identity by the end.) These people see Es' every move, hear their every word, scrutinize their every decision, and knew their real name long before they did...

On a sillier note, I remember the scene with the advertisements and I'm laughing picturing the prisoners trying to hype up their own mv release dates. Es posts the interrogation schedule and every five seconds someone is like, "Oh Wow! I Can't Believe My Song Will Be Extracted On Wednesday March Fifth At Six O'Clock PM Japan Standard Time! I'm So Nervous For Wednesday March Fifth At Six O'Clock PM Japan Standard Time!"

Been busy enough to justify a full round up for this WIP Wednesday. The TL;DR being that I'm back to being fully lace brained.

Blanket 10 is NEARLY finished. I've started attaching the last row and just need to finish out this row and then do a border (and give him a good wash, I've owned some of this yarn for years and it smells a little dusty). The nights are starting to get really cold here so I'll be happy to have it done, I just gotta force myself to work on it.

Doily 14 (Yarn | Pattern) needs to go on a longer needle but other than that is very fun and cute. I've decided to put it down for a bit to work on the next two projects but I expect when they get boring I'll go back to this. This pattern is surprisingly simple for a Neibling as long as you're prepared for the long pattern rows. Absolutely going to have to break out the washi tape to mark off my rows for the second chart, but the first one has been very easy lace knitting.

Unnamed project aka me fucking around to see if I can freehand this sweater design. I had started with a two row lace ("Honeycomb lace" from A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G Walker) but honestly didn't find it fun to knit. So I transitioned to a favourite of mine (ssk, k2tog, yo twice). It's going a lot faster now tho it looks a little weird. I'm going to knit to the underarm and if it fits, it stays. If it's too small I'll rip all the way back and redo the shaping in this lace pattern instead with longer shoulder saddles. It's unfortunate that I didn't like knitting the honeycomb lace, I really like how it looks, I'll have to try swatching it in different yarns to see if the problem is just that this yarn has zero stretch (100% cotton).

I have decided I will put short sleeves on this tho. I had planned to just add ribbing for the arms but I saw a drop shoulder vest in a similar style and did Not like it, so this just saves me from having to rip back. I also think I'm going to have to leave this cropped, I'm not a big crop top person but with this yarn being cotton, having a full length body along with the sleeves is going to have the neckline very stretched. There may be no helping it regardless but there's no harm in trying. I imagine if this is does become something I wear it'll either be in the dead of summer or layered over a button up/some sort of top anyway, so a crop wouldn't be too uncomfortable.

Last but certainly not least is Shawl 14 (Pattern | Yarn). My precious Evenstar is coming along very well, I'm actually on the second to last pattern row before the set up for the border. I know the border is going to be a slog but I'm excited for it regardless, he's huge even all compressed on the needles. My self imposed deadline for him is April, but the border is only 56 repeats. If I can do one every other day I should be right on time, which sounds do-able even tho I know I'll get bored by the halfway point.

I need to keep an eye out for patterns for this yarn, I have a whole second cone plus what'll be left after I finish this shawl. These cones staring at me will probably be the push I need to settle on an Orenburg shawl pattern. (Or possibly a large Neibling, or one of MMario's patterns.)
