As the bell ring, signaling the end of math class, Isaac sighed in relief. He hated math, although it was an important subject. He waited until the other students were mostly outside the classroom, so he wouldn't get caught in the sea of people on his way out. Stuffing his things into his schoolbag and leaving the classroom, he couldn't even walk away properly before someone grabbed his arm and shoved him against a wall. Isaac could already guess who it was, that stupid 7th grader who kept getting a kick out of bullying him: Tyler.

Isaac rolled his eyes, and attempted to just walk away, but Tyler kept him pinned against the wall. "Hey Fucker, how's your day?" ,Tyler asked with fake kindness, which just made Isaac scoff in frustration. "Horrible now that I've seen your ugly face" ,Isaac scowled, clenching his fists. Being called ugly was something Tyler hated, and so his immediate response was to slap Isaac harshly across the face, making the latter yelp quietly. "The hell did you say to me!?" ,Tyler exclaimed angrily, gripping Isaac's collar tightly. Isaac huffed, and tried to get away from Tyler, but to not avail.

Tyler growled at Isaac's attempts to get away, and kicked him in the stomach. Isaac coughed, holding his stomach, tears building up in his eyes now. "Ow- what the hell even is your problem!?" ,Isaac whimpered, trying to keep his voice from cracking as tears rolled down his cheeks. Tyler rolled his eyes, and as he got ready to punch Isaac, the latter squeezed his eyes shut. But after a few seconds, Isaac got confused when he didn't feel any impact. He opened one of his eyes, to be met with the sight of Malachai tightly gripping Tyler's wrists. "What the hell dude!? Let me go!" ,Tyler yelled, trying to free himself form Malachai. But considering Malachai was older, and stronger, the escape attempt proved to be anything but successful.

Malachai simply looked towards Isaac, and asked: "Has he been bullying you for a while or was this a one time thing?" Isaac hesitated to reply, but muttered: "..This has been going on for a while now..." Malachai narrowed his eyes, and then glared at Tyler, tightening his grip. Tyler cried out in pain, struggling around and shouting at Malachai to let go. Malachai scowled and then hit Tyler straight into the chest, knocking the air out of him. Tyler stumbled to the floor, coughing and gasping a little for air. Isaac's eyes widened, but Malachai just took him into his arms.

The students, and teachers, in the hallway stared at the two in shock, some were recording. Malachai just scoffed, and grabbed Isaac's hand, leading him away form Tyler. Isaac sniffled, his tears rolling down his cheeks rapidly. Malachai sighed and hugged Isaac, letting the younger boy sob into his shoulder. "T-Thank You-" ,Isaac choked out between sobs. Malachai just smiled a little and patted his back.

Chuck, Stub, Don, and Shorty are all having issues with their classes and don’t want to get kicked off the team, so Chuck and Stub rope in their friend Bobby to help. Don immediately had a crush on Bobby like he was smart and cute and funny and confident and knew an impressive amount of info about rowing for some reason (one time Don suggested he go out for coxswain and that totally flopped so Don never brought it up again).

Bobby had been able to help the boys catch up on their assignments in no time, but Don needed to straight up ace a final exam in order to keep his spot on team. So one of the other boys suggested Don has 1-on-1 study sessions considering they don’t need Bobby’s help anymore.

Don aces the exam with Bobby’s help and so maybe Don kisses him or maybe he wants to pay Bobby back for helping him ie they celebrate (if you know what I mean). And that’s the last time they see each other for a couple of months because they leave on winter break so Don sadly writes it off as a one night stand but then the spring rowing season starts and oh shit Bobby’s their coxswain now and Don is internally mortified. But Bobby is acting as if nothing ever happened so maybe Don can too (but Bobby had def also caught feelings but was suppressing them thinking Don only wanted a one night stand). Basically it’s a whole mess.

idk what this is. i had the image of eddie and steve and their kids on a morning before school and then it got a little steamy.

Eddie stands on the front porch in his robe and takes a sip of his coffee as he watches Steve get the girls on the bus. It's a cold morning, in the low 30's, and he chuckles as his daughters blow out hot air like they’re dragons. The sun is barely even up yet but it casts a bright glow across the frosty grass of their yard and the field across the road.

Steve and the girls do their dorky handshake once the bus pulls up and Eddie waves at them and blows them each a kiss. When the bus is around the curve down the road, Steve puts his hands in the pockets of his Carhartt and starts the trek back up the long gravel driveway, their dog Daisy trotting at his side.

Eddie goes back inside to the warmth. He drains the last of his coffee and puts the mug in the sink before he starts clearing up the mess left from breakfast, made by the mini tornadoes he calls children. As he washes the plastic kiddie plates and cups and forks, he goes through the list of what he and Steve have planned for the day since it's rare that their days off overlap.

Well. What Eddie has planned. He knows what Steve's plans are and none of them involve doing anything on the list pinned to the fridge.

The hole in the chicken coop needs patched before the ladies and their gentleman caller get snatched up by a bobcat or coyote. Eddie's been trying to find the time to go over to Wayne's and help him with the boat so he can take the girls out on the river this summer. He and Steve need to make a trip to Rural King if their oldest is seriously considering showing rabbits for 4-H.

All are things that'll take up a good chunk of their morning and afternoon. But of course, when Eddie feels arms wrap around his waist and lips press to the skin underneath his ear, he knows good and well all of it will be tossed out the window.

"Mornin', handsome," Eddie hums, leaning back into Steve's hold, his hands still submerged in soapy dishwater.

"Mornin', baby." Steve kisses Eddie's shoulder and starts to gently sway them. "The girls are gone."

Eddie chuckles. He knows the game Steve is trying to play. "Oh really? I couldn't tell, with how quiet it is."

Steve's lips trail from his shoulder to his neck. "We both have the day off."

Eddie hums in agreement, his eyes sliding shut as he tilts his head back on Steve's shoulder. "I know what you're trying to do, baby," he says. "It won't work. We have stuff to do."

Steve ignores him. "We could go back to bed right now," he says against Eddie's ear.

Eddie sighs quietly, making a valiant effort to not acknowledge the way Steve is starting to chub up.

Au: Daffodils and the Meaning Of

- A modern au where everyone except Choi Han reincarnates into modern Roan. (Though, Choi Han will be there, and you’ll see how/why)

- Choi Han becomes some sort of divine entity(idk what. He could be a wanderer or a god), and then in order to get the chance to meet his new family again, he gives it up. As well as his memories, which can only be unlocked when he achieves merits equal to his transgressions that stripped him of his authority in the first place. (Kinda like lsh, except he doesn’t reincarnate, rather, he’s just sent to that world kinda like tboah.

- Choi Jung Soo, on the other hand, does reincarnate along with everyone else. He makes a deal with someone (I don’t know maybe the god of death?) in order for him to be able to reincarnate.

- No one else remembers their past life. Not even Cale.

- Speaking of Cale, he is still our same Og!Kim Rok Soo/Cale. As for Og!Cale/Kim Rok Soo, I’m gonna go with him being reincarnated with his mother and team members in another dimension. So, sadly no Og!Cale in this au:(

- Kim Rok Soo grows up with almost the same past. With his parents dying, then being taken in by his uncle, then being put into an orphanage. The difference is that this time, he’s only in the orphanage for a few months before Deruth and Violan adopt him.

- Kim Rok Soo, or Cale Henituse, was taken from the hospital as a baby, then found and taken in by Kim Rok Soo’s previous parents.

- By the time Cale is found by Deruth, he is already in the orphanage, and Deruth has already married Violan and had a child. So Basen and Lily are already there by the time he comes to live with them.

- Once he is adopted, he throws away his name as Kim Rok Soo and decides to live as Cale Henituse, much like he did in Canon.

- After that, he is homeschooled for a while, just enough to get used to his new life, then goes to Huiss Academy along with a whole bunch of other characters from totcf.

- Choi Han and Cale meet in a café as seen in my latest drabble. Although neither of them remember each other, Cale feels the unexplainable urge to go talk to him. Choi Han is wary of this red haired stranger, but he also doesn’t want to be rude and it’s not like he has the money to buy himself food or a drink.

- After that, Cale takes Choi Han home with him to his family’s penthouse apartment(stranger danger). He lives in it alone, with only Ron and Beacrox residing in his house most of the time in order to serve him. It goes about as well as you’d imagine.

- Speaking of which, the Molan duo do have their own house in the capital city, they’re just over at Cale’s penthouse most of the time since they are still employed by the Henituse’s and have served Cale since he was adopted.

- Onto other topics!

- Henituse Industries is a company that deals in technology. Kind of like Stark Industries. They also have a wine business on the side. I just feel like I could see his Family owning a tech company. It would certainly help his future looting sprees.

- Zed Crossman is the head of Crossman Conglomerate, the largest mega-corporation in Roan. I considered Zed being the President of Roan, but I don’t think Alberu would be able to be so involved in the plot if he were the President’s kid. Plus, the succession battle between the “Prince’s.”

- Alberu still dyes his hair to blonde, but he’s not a quarter dark elf. It’s more of a stylistic choice to help him fit with his image.

- If I went over every noble house in modern times, I think I would be here for a while, so those are the only ones I’m going to mention for now.

- So during his school years, Cale stays in their penthouse, a.k.a. their mansion in Huiss city. This is the city where everything in school is going to go down.

- Let’s get into some more characters!

- So for Choi Han, Cale lets him stay in his penthouse and eventually helps him enroll in the same Academy. Eventually, Cale will finally meet Choi Jung Soo and Lee Soo Hyuk, and will eventually connect the two Chois. That will happen much later and much different than in canon. So yeah, he basically meets Lsh and Cjs after he meets a lot of the other characters, as opposed to before.

- Roslayn! She’s a transfer student from Breck, a country neighboring Roan. She came to learn more about the culture, particularly about Roan’s deep history.

- Lock is a freshman at Huiss academy. He won a scholarship and is staying in a dorm while the rest of his family is still in his hometown.

- Overtime I’ll be introducing more and more characters either in the school or somewhere in the city. I wouldn’t say that this is a “high school au” per se, but it’s kinda a modern au with high school elements.

- You know what time it is folks! The kids averaging x years old!

- Raon is the son Huiss Academy’s Headmaster, Sherrit.

- As for On and Hong, they live with their parents as of now. I can’t decide whether I want to kill off their parents or not.

- I also can’t decide whether or not I want Cale and the children to have more of a parent/child relationship or a sibling relationship. For this au, Cale is still in high school so it wouldn’t really make much sense for it to be parental.

- For Eruhaben, he is the chemistry professor at Huiss Academy.

- He can see that Cale doesn’t seem to interact with anybody at the Academy and tries to talk to him a bit. He doesn’t know why he’s so intrigued by this child, but something just tells him that the kid is special.

- So yes, as in everything I will write between them two, they will have a father/son relationship. Especially considering Cale hasn’t really known Deruth and Violan for very long and he’s not really sure how to act around them.

- Another thing I wanted to kind of explore was the relationship between him and the other “dragons.” I feel like I want Mila to be a sort of mother figure for him since Cale hasn’t really had a mother either. That being said, I also feel like Sherrit would be a good mother figure for him despite “his kid” also being her son…..so if I did go him and the children being kind of siblings in this au, I guess that’ll make perfect sense.

- Anyway, this is getting pretty long, so I’ll stop it here.

idk why they had to change the name smh but then again i can see why too LOL, but if you’re gonna change the character names, change for all of them why change just two?? especially since Emerald’s name is explained precisely so aksjsjs i’m so salty rn lmao

uh about the storyline, i had to try hard to not be lured into yet another game lmao (eyeing L&N akshdhd), so i haven’t actually played the game personally after CBT LOL nor do i keep up with its contents that much, so my knowledge regarding the story and the characters isn’t deep and is limited haha. also, since the premise begins in the AU world + with some other factors, i kinda lost my interest to even begin with LOL.

here’s a brief introduction for you though—

the game’s setting is the AU world ahah, and it also has personal routes. it has battle systems for leveling up your profile / raising cards. i heard it can be pretty grindy, but since i haven’t continued playing it, i can’t comment on that :>

✦ The Heroine:

she is an art student / comic artist in the modern world, but one day she gets sucked into a different AU world while watching her friend’s performance. (she’s so pretty tho u.u)

✦ Ai Yin/ Ayn:

19 years old, goes to the same school as the heroine and a pianist in the modern world. He’s a prince in the AU world, focused on his revenge.

✦ Lu Chen/ Alkaid:

20 years old, a transfer student, the heroine’s senior in a different study (Astronomy), photographer. In the AU world, he’s a mage/ high level priest.

✦ Lu Xia/ Rorschach (re-named as Lars for EN):

27 years old, the heir of a wealthy family, CEO, flirty af. In the AU world, he’s an aggressive and headstrong king.

(if you’re into the “CEO trope”, he could be your pick LOL. but if you’re looking for similarities that actually matter— then aside from just the CEO title and maybe that body lmfao, Victor and him share no other similarities hahaha)

22 years old, goes to the same school as the heroine and is the student president. He is the head highest priest/ mage in the AU world.

An art instructor, took the heroine under his wings, gentle in nature sus lmao. In the AU world, he is the silver knight and leading the revolution.

Over all, from what I’ve seen, the story is pretty good, has the intrigue elements for sure. Also plus point, in every AU/ arch you get a common part and then you can choose your love interest to progress for the rest of the story. what it does here is that unlike Lovepro/MLQC + Light and Night main story, where the story itself is very character-driven, you need to shut your brain and consider the MC that specific love interest’s heroine for the allocated segment- or else given the extreme lengths she goes for them/ the said borderline intimacy certainly don’t cut for “just friends” tag LOL. So, if you’re someone who self-inserts (consciously or not) and perhaps is a little uncomfortable with that kind of storytelling, For All Time/ Lovebrush Chronicles is certainly one you can give a try.

For me personally, the writing pattern didn’t seem like my cup of tea + I prefer the storytelling pattern of Lovepro and L&N (singular main story + parallel dates) haha. But hey, we all have different tastes, so be sure to give it a chance if you’re interested. Who knows, you could end up with completely different viewpoints than me! (⁠*⁠´⁠∀⁠｀⁠*⁠)

Maybe, you muse, it had to do with the source of your upbringing: Jackson. It was a stereotypical small town, where, cliché as it was, everybody knew everybody. The town's history was clean as a goddamn whistle. While places like Seattle— Abby's hometown— were a hotspot for crime due to the sheer amount of people making it slightly harder to get caught unless you were a goddamn idiot, with the close proximity of everyone within Jackson from Dina to Tommy Miller, any crime you could commit would be shut down by the local police force in a month at most.

So, you indulged your macabre curiosity elsewhere: you binge watched slashers despite your parents' vehement protests and you researched the violent happenings that often took place outside your sheltered hometown. Hell, you'd even indulged in one of those stupid fucking murder mystery games with some of the allowance you'd managed to spare that wasn't spent on various branded paraphernalia... and the other kind, but nobody needed to know that.

You weren't exactly surprised at how others seemed to be creeped out by you: Friday the 13th wasn't exactly a commonplace interest. Even so, you'd managed to make a few close friends whom you considered enough to get you by.

You jolt as your locker slams shut beside your head, and Abby's cackling is all too familiar.

Your head lolled of the side of the bed, your back strewn across Ellie's legs as you barely manage to register the words spewing from her mouth as you take another hit from the blunt she'd rolled.

"I just don't get how you like these," she complains. "I mean, it's the same damn formula every time. Does it not get boring?"

"That's the pointtttt," you groan. "The more formulaic they are, the better. Sure, some newer takes can be good: but sticking to the classics is a good play. Better safe than sorry." You wave off her concerns.

"Well, look at this little flim critic," Ellie teases as she stares at Abby, who's staring blankly at the ceiling. You'd never fail to find her lower tolerance hilarious.

"I mean," you and Ellie wait patiently through Abby's long pause. "They're right. Formulaic can be good. Patterns are more predictable— easier to keep up." She says, and you notice her and Ellie share a look.

"But they can also suck," she hisses. "Because if you're predictable, it makes it easier to connect. Like, in these movies how they're always killing off dumb, blonde bimbos— you can tell they're all copying eachother." She complains. You squint at the both of them, but don't comment on the subject.

"There's no right answer," you shrug. "I just find the middle ground. Sure, it's predictable, and boring. But it's also the safe call to make. People criticize these movies, but they make fuckin' millions. The original ones get better reviews, but they end up falling flat in the box office."

You don't realize Ellie and Abby's argument isn't referring to movies in the slightest.

"You sound way too fuckin' smart for the both of us," Ellie says, and you snort.

"It's because I am," your eyes flash toward Ellie's clock. "Shit. I gotta go. Parents will kill me if I'm not home soon." You shoot upward, trying to adjust to your surroundings. You cannot come home looking high out of your fucking mind. "See you guys later."

You watch as the two of them give you a halfhearted wave, and once you shut the bedroom door, you chalk up the strange shuffling to... something you don't want to know, honestly.

You don't realize it's much worse than you thought.

You surmise the punishment for being late is slightly lesser than the punishment for coming home inebriated, so you take the risk to sober up in a nearby alley between a convenience store and a small restaurant.

The alley is lit up by string lights and decorated with a few benches— perfectly habitable, and it's not what scares you— what does set you on edge is the unchecked darkness of the forest beyond the alley.

You elect to ignore the unease in your stomach, instead taking a hearty swig of the water you'd bought from the convenience store before coming outside. The tension in your shoulders almost releases, then—

You hear a scream.

A bloodcurdling scream.

Every nerve in your body tells you to run the opposite direction of the plea for help, every goddamn slasher you've watched over the years telling you playing the hero always gets you killed, but it's not heroics that lead you toward the source of the noise.

It's that same morbid curiosity that gets you watching slashers in the first place.

The noises grow louder as you draw nearer, and your eyes widen as you stifle a gasp when you see the bloodied body of Nora lying at the feet of two masked killers. You sigh in relief when you realize the treeline obscures you from view, but the noise comes out far too loud.

It hits you just how fucked you are.

You've made a few essential mistakes in the laws of survival so far, but you're not stupid enough not to run: you make a mad dash, but in a sick (and ironic) twist of fate, you trip over your abandoned water bottle and wince as the solid trunk of a tree collides against with your head with a loud thunk.

Through the blurry haze that is your vision, you see the two killers standing right in front of you. You prepare for the worst, when—

"Y/N?"

Oh, shit.

"El?" You hear the panicked rambling of another woman. "Abs? What the FUCK!?"

You almost kick out when Abby covers your mouth with a gloved hand, but know better than to get violent with the woman twice your size with a fucking hunting knife to boot.

"Ellie, El, this is bad." Abby's voice is shaking. "What the Hell do we do, man?"

The forest falls painfully silent.

"Well," Ellie finally begins. "The best course of action? Kill the witness." You whimper, and mentally hit yourself for showing any vulnerability. "But," she continues. "On the other hand, I kind of like this one."

You will Abby to take her hand off your mouth with a pleading look.

"So," you hiss. "What's your plan, here? I don't have all night. Either get this over with and slit my throat or hurry the fuck up."

Ellie grins. "I've always liked that you were a little feisty, Y/N."

"I said," you grit your teeth. "Hurry up."

"Here's the deal, darling," Ellie tilts your chin up with the hilt of the knife. You look away. "You help us out. And we don't kill you." She wrenches your head forward, just enough to look her in the eyes. "You say no, or you rat us out," she mutters, lowly. "And we slit your throat. Deal?"

It hits you there's not a lot of options on the table. You glance over at Abby, clearly the more emotionally charged of the two, and wonder if you can bargain with her. But, you decide, she's probably just as crazy as Ellie or too scared to say no if her going along with this in the first place was any indication.

And, a darker part of you whispers, you wonder how it must feel, if they're willing to do such heinous things.

Finally, you assent with a shaky nod.

"Alright," you wrench your gaze away again.

"I'll help you."

Thoughts about Descendants: Rise of Red

I saw Rise of Red.

It was a mess and, as I expected, it blew up the lore of the whole franchise, so I'm going to consider it an AU of sorts from now on, or out of the original canon because there is no way to make everything work together.

Besides, it feels very rushed, especially the ending, it comes far too soon, and even if it's basically certain there will be a sequel or two, it still doesn't work on so many levels.

That said, it was a funny nice little thing, the songs are catchy (Red and Life is Sweeter are pretty great) and if it was for a different franchise it'd be nice and fine.

But it isn't. This is set in Descendants's world and that's where a good bit of the issues arise.

This is going to be long.

First of all, we already had enough problems with timelines as it was, but we kind of solved the issue with different theories (merged universes, different developments due to segregation, they were different but the unification brought a super quick collective development... it all depends on what line of thinking you prefer) the only one that never worked in the first place was that everyone was the same age and went to school together, Heroes and Villains. It simply doesn't add up, most of the Villains are supposed to be much older and most certainly didn't live along Heroes peacefully. But RoR went exactly there?!

And I see the appeal of it all, sure, but Maleficent should at least be older than Aurora by the simple grace of having been the one to curse baby Aurora at her christening so Maleficent being the same age as Cinderella, and Aurora by proxy since Chad and Audrey are the same age too we can assume Aurora and Ella are around the same age, makes no damn sense. Hades is a similar issue, but that one can be solved, let's say he was too bored in the Underworld (or was trying to escape punishment for his coup and was depowered by Zeus) and decided to take a younger appearance and mingle with mortals (ahem, with Maleficent in particular, I do love the pair, okay?), Greek gods did that in the myths, I can accept that.

On the same line, Aladdin and Jasmine being there puts them in a spot that is just too strange. Unless their whole plot already happened and the Sultan agreed to ship them both to school before they got married? Idk, some things can be fixed, some not, Aladdin and Jasmine probably can. The "call us jaladdin" can't, I draw the line here.

What can't be fixed in the slightest is Cinderella's story. I mean, I have seen many movies that set Cinderella's story in modern times, they're fine, for the most part, but in this case, a huge bit of the original plot just disappears, and it's the search Charming has to do to find a girl he met at the ball and only there through a single glass shoe that a Fairy Godmother made for her. Charming knows Ella already here, he doesn't have to look all over the kingdom to find the girl with glass shoes?! And since we're told the glass shoes are important for Ella and Charming when the gift the new shoes to Chloe, you can't tell me they aren't relevant.

AND Fairy Godmother, here Fay, being the same age too, if not younger, and unable to correctly do magic is a bit I have beef with too, FG was supposed to be friends with Ella's mother, but she's too young here! And clearly unable to perform magic as she should. Let's use the "fairies grow slower" explanation here, so Fay is much older than she looks, it's fine, we can even use the same for Maleficent too, just for the bit. I have no idea why would either of them go to Merlin's school for teenagers if they are not so, but let's just say it's because no one can teach them as well as Merlin can and let's call it a day. The problem Fay isn't able to correctly perform spells is a huge issue also because we're explicitly told in Descendants she had a "motherly smile" when she helped Cinderella and FG didn't correct that, she even got upset when Maleficent talked about hamsters and eggplants instead of mice and pumpkins when the carriage was discussed so it's pretty much established that FG was the one to help Ella, it couldn't have been anyone else.

Let's talk about the great absentees while we're at it, shall we? Aka, the makers of Auradon, Belle and Adam. Where are they? Is Adam cursed at this point and Belle doesn't go to school? Like in Beastly (great book btw, not so much the movie tho...)? I mean, everyone else is missing too, if we want to get technical, but the problem is that Merlin school's existence undermines a good chunk of Auradon's lore as we know it.

(After I started writing this post I came across the very disturbing info they almost put Beast in the plot of RoR, as a jock kid who could switch between beast and boy basically at will, which is not how a curse that leaves a boy traumatized for life to the point he decides to ban magic as soon as he becomes king should work, so his presence would have been much worse than his absence. In fact, I think it's for the better he didn't appear at all)

We speculated and we were sort of told by the extra books that the reason Auradon united and the Isle was created was because of a "Villain takeover" for which a rebellion was necessary (exact words we find in the guide), so there was a war and all, do we have to assume everything happened after the ones we saw in RoR left school? Since we have added the info Wonderland didn't want to join Auradon, hence the seal of the Rabbit Hole, what side did Bridget stand on during the war? Did she already have the authority to call the shots? When did it all happen?! How do you go from going all to school together to rise up in arms?

On a similar note, as funny as it can be the idea a coup can't start from a school so Ben is very relaxed when told, I've been informed by people who know this kind of stuff that a coup can, indeed begin from any place, as long as there are enough important people/resources where it all starts. As we know, Chad was considered second-in-line after Ben (he says so in D2), although I guess this changed in the years after the first 3 movies (possibly because Chloe was deemed more fit to rule?), so the Charming family is important enough that the Queen of Hearts seizing Auradon Prep with her whole army can be considered a successful coup, even more so in absence of the actual High King and Queen from the country. If we add many royals and their kids were there, as well as Fairy Godmother and Uma (yes, Uma became very important for Auradon, you can't change my mind), it is, most definitely a very real coup.

One thing I saw around is that it's likely Red and Chloe solved nothing or made things worse for Bridget and I sort of agree only in part. People tend to underestimate how much traumatic events can affect people, especially people as sweet as Bridget seemed to be, even more so when she didn't have any friends but Ella (by her own admission) and Ella was too busy with her own happiness to help her friend who got hurt, so yes, that single prank could have changed her completely. Also, I believe, after she went dark, the Queen of Hearts killed Ulyana.

I suppose we're going to find out what did Red and Chloe messed up for real in the next movie, I tend to think that either Red realizes she doesn't like bubbly Bridget as a mom that much because she's too kind and it makes her a rather bad queen, not a dictator but not capable of making the right decisions either OR something else vital in the franchise was blown up, like Ulyana being still alive (yes I totally stand that the Queen of Heart killed her, but if she didn't it means there's a problem on the loose).

Another thing is the freezing spell in the cookbook. Some say that its existence should have blocked Ulyana's plot all the same and Chloe and Red's intervention actually changed nothing, but I disagree.

Assuming it would have worked all the same on Ulyana in the original timeline, we could suppose that she didn't open the book inside Merlin's study, but simply the gang took the book and left before Merlin could arrive, so one of the others (Maleficent, Morgie and Hades all had magic) could have unfreezed her, then she could have found someone clueless to open the book for her (Ella in exchange for a chance to attend the ball, so Ulyana was her actual-but-evil-FG? a random extra who the gang brought specifically for the goal? Bridget herself, naive as she was, they left the book there and she opened it sealing her own fate?), so the prank would have happened, the main change was that R&C activated the security system much earlier and kept the gang in the room longer, so Merlin got around to catch them and give them detention this time around, that part works.

Toh Swap Au Concepts

ok, so i have a couple swap au ideas that i promised to share, so i'm gonna share them.

These are ideas i've had, but don't have the time to really flesh out into a unique toh swap/canon divergence au like arofam, but i wanna share my ideas so maybe some of you might use them and flesh them out yourselves into a fun swap/divergence au and make them work.

No one has to keep ALL my ideas for them, but i should put them out there anyways.

Maybe i’ll come back to them myself one day, but for now i’d love you to hear them and maybe they’ll inspire you.

Philip Human Au:

So in this one the wittebanes are set in modern day, Caleb is like camila, he's in charge of taking care of his younger brother ever since their parents passed away. Philip is troubled, he doesn't get along with other students and doesn't make friends. He and Caleb, before caleb turned 18 and could live with his brother on their own, were in a very strict religious foster home. Philip came out of it stifling his creativity and fearing the unknown. When philip is at risk of being taken out of caleb's care because of how philip acts, caleb hopes to send him off to a fun summer camp so he can make friends and help him out.

So caleb is doing what he can to prevent the brothers from being separated, something he genuinely fears could happen and he's under so much pressure to keep them together. He's scared to tell philip this could happen, tho philip takes this as caleb not wanting him anymore.

But philip ends up on the isles when his journal is stolen.

There, he starts off being offhandish about magic and witches, having been raised to fear them, but stays, thinking if he can prove himself here...caleb won't throw him away like he likes.

no i'm not entirely sure who should be there for most of the other swap cast, maybe nothing changes for you, but yeah, this au helps philip embrace magic and truly come into his own.

And on top of that, Perhaps evelyn exists in this universe in eda's place and she and caleb have a blossoming romance somehow, and it ends with caleb moving to the isles. Caleb is heartbroken when he finds out philip and him ended up separated or that philip thought he didn't want him anymore.

Also on top of this, luz, another human that may be in disguise herself, is on the isles as the most influential witch there, maybe as a ruler or as just a normal, but she's trapped in constantly trying to live out her fantasy.

Maybe she wants to free the collector in hopes he'll help her make the isles everything she wants it to be without having to ever face what she ran away from on earth.

There's a lot still open to changes and adjustments, but i think it's def a fun idea for an au.

Willow au:

Ok so, who wants a Willow the human au? Willow is a student on earth who faces frequent bullying, people make her feel weak, look down on her, and she's ended up shy and alone as a result despite knowing she can be so much more. Her dads are worried about her and consider transferring her to another school but end up sending her to a camp of a subject she's not even interested in, in hopes she'll make friends and have opportunities for a great job someday.

Instead, she ends up on the isles, i'm not sure who would be in eda's spot, maybe lilith, or maybe we got wild and put someone like terra here XDD

But willow starts to feel more confident in herself and her abilities and embrace her love of plants here, she loves the sports, makes a new friend in gus and luz, and challenges the notions set against her.

Tho that's not all, hunter is magicless, but he's the top student and he's always trying to prove himself to his uncle, who runs his own company (maybe he makes artificial magic stuff idk). And he and willow start off on the wrong foot but form a romance over time as hunter learns to stand up to his uncle.

Caleb and Evelyn also run the company as co-owners and frequently argue with philip about the pressure he puts on hunter but eventually they do put their foot down. (Also maybe some witteclaw kids are hunter's siblings)

on top of that, the Blights are the royal family of the isles, odalia turning the world more cooperate and alador rarely having the ability to stand up to her. Amity and her siblings are all "Golden guard" types, but while edric and emira rarely take the job seriously, amity does because of how much she's under odalia's foot and she feels the pressure to live up to her expectations.

So yeah, we got blights vs Willow in a whole new way here.

That's an outline of this au, i don't have a lot else to say on it, there's plenty of room to mess with it, but i think there's potential to have it's own fun unique direction. 

 maybe the wittebanes are still human, maybe odalia also is working with the collector to keep her on the top, lotta room for fun here.

So yeah, fun swap aus with twists that could make them into unique canon divergence/swap aus, they don’t have to follow canon to an exact, they’re a fun spin on the canon show + putting characters into each other’s roles.

and i loved coming up with them, even if i don’t complete them into a full project myself

so eh honestly. i think it depends on the upbringing specific to the au lol, there are fics out there where they are still brought up in the countryside and very similar to canon and fittingly they become ranchers or truckers etc.?

*personally* when i think modern au i really think *modern* so like. i think given a proper education they would both be too smart to be like hauling bricks all day (not saying its dumb!) or stuff but also i dont see either of them sitting in an office all day 🤔 theyd both suffocate honestly. and given their canon hobbies and skills i think they could be a lot of different things 👀

for arthur i've thought about maybe gun range instructor, or freelance artist, given his love for dogs he could possibly work at a dog shelter? or a leader for trailriding? maybe a job that requires a lot of drawing sketches, like architect or a designer of some sort? arthurs so artistic 😭 a bit of a stretch but he could even be a writer too. even further of a stretch if we're throwing ordinary out the window maybe some kinda special agent or a mercenary. idk about police tho. firefighter i kinda can see both of them being. ooh i also did briefly consider arthur being a commercial pilot too!

as for charles i keep thinking of him as a grad student. idk. hes young and i think hed be pretty smart. maybe hed study something related to nature or native americans? maybe even biology? i feel like hed be a stem person. either that or something like history. then again he could also be a craftsman like we cant let those carving skills go to waste! hes so musically talented too but i dont rly see him as a musician. altho now that i think about it i feel like a cello position in an orchestra suits him so well 🤤 and of course he could also be a professional boxer but personally i think hes had enough boxing in canon let my baby rest 😭 and of course, the air traffic controller or first officer for arthurs pilot... but that will have to be a fic for later ehehe.

and then of course we've got like the rock band aus. (personally i see arthur on the bass and charles on the drums. or vice versa.) and the coffee shop aus. heehee.

honestly i wonder about their modern occupations all the time. so many possibilities! for my modern au renders i've sorta established that rdr2 is a game they worked on together but thats not like their proper jobs. i'be settled on charles going back to grad school for that au but idk about arthur yet. man the downsides of two characters who have way too many talents and interests 😭🤤 if anyone has other ideas leave a comment i'd love to know!!

I sometimes think of the photo from time to time. Thoma up and left without a word at 8 years old. Not only him but his parents as well. They didn’t keep in contact and I’ve looked all over Mondstat three times over for them so I’m positive there not there. Well I looked all over Mondstat when I used to live there. You see I moved my first year of high school because my dad had a incredible work opportunity in inazuma and considering that I didn’t have any close friends in Mondstat and I felt like I needed a change in scenery I obliged now I’m here in inazuma.

“My dad moved to inazuma for a job opportunity to branch out his wine business, mom and I went on a boat to give him a gift but the boat crashed somewhere random. We never did find my dad and we had to start life somewhere completely new” Thoma explains and I feel bad I know how strict Inazuma was back then, foreigners were barely aloud

“So why didn’t you write or something” I say feeling myself bubble up with anger again

“Inazuma was stricter back then” he says with a shrug

“What about now?!” I say and he sighs and looks away

“I was busy I have a lot going on right now” he says

“You can’t just write a letter idk try to send a text something” I say getting more and more angry

Vash's twin that visits his apartment to ensure Vash is okay (as a disabled person myself who lives alone, i get weekly visits from my mom and brother lmao) and comes in with groceries, leaves with trash, comes over to drive Vash to his doctor appointments, and tells Vash to get a real job??

im really curious how you would characterize Knives in this au, theres definitely a lot to go with considering the vast differences in his 1998, 2023, and manga variations (im partial to 2023 myself, but manga is a close second and 1998 is in the dust for me personally) since his genocide nonsense doesn't have a 1-for-1 translation in a modern world. the only act of Knives that i can think of that would track is 2023!Knives blaming himself for Vash's amputation (as opposed to other variations, if i remember right, where Knives did it to punish Vash, i liked that they went with a "Knives did it bc he loves Vash and didnt see another way to save his brother" direction instead) bc maybe the amputation happened in an accident that Knives blames himself for Vash being a victim in. but yeah, so many variations

(anyways, i have a Part 2 to this that's not related to me asking questions about your streamer au, but rather me just saying a hc i have for Vash+Knives Modern AU that is very biased to my own personal history and therefore is irrelevant to your streamer au, so do hold up briefly, i do wanna ramble about that bc rambling about Trigun Modern AUs is fun)

I think I can tell you guys some about the ideas I had in mind without spoiling too much!

So I've bounced it around a bit in my head, and I think I've come up with something that works for this AU in particular. Rem was in fact their foster mom, she adopted them both as babies. While Nai was a pretty normal kid growing up, a bit cynical and intelligent for his age but nothing concerning, Vash was the type of kid who got sick really often. Like, immunodeficient, multiple hospitalizations sick. I was thinking something like CVID, which makes it so you're way more susceptible to getting respiratory and lung infections. He was a happy kid, but in and out of the hospital a lot.

In late middle school he had a really bad reaction, and while rushing him to the hospital Rem got in a car accident that cost her her life and Vash his left arm. Vash feels like he's the whole reason the accident even happened in the first place, while Nai blames himself for Vash being even worse off because maybe if he'd just been able to keep calm Rem wouldn't have been so distracted. There's also a fair bit of survivor's guilt in him, being the only one who got out of the wreck generally unscathed.

So he's kind of taken himself up as his brother's keeper, balancing his own post-graduate work life with checking in on Vash, bringing him to appointments, and just generally making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. He's a conservation biology major and a huge ecology nut, who often says (in a deadpan tone that Vash thinks is a joke) that the planet would probably be better off if all the humans on itwere wiped out.

Nai has complicated feelings about Vash's streamer lifestyle. On one hand he's not as deeply, deeply depressed as he was in early high school, most days it being a chore for Nai to even get him to eat or drink. On the other hand, he thinks that a job like this isn't stable enough for Vash, that he could be doing more with his fantastic intelligence, and that Vash cares way too much about what random strangers on the internet think about him. It's the sparking point for many arguments, because as much as they love and care about each other, they just don't see the world from each other's viewpoints.

(He'd also never say it, but Nai is actually very grateful that Vash has Nicholas as a roommate. As much as he despises the guy, at least there's someone around to make sure Vash is eating real food and actually going outside when Nai isn't there to check on him.)

modern au headcanons for nalu pls!! Specifically how they would get tgt and what their college course would be or career would be like?

Preferably smth other than the typical writer/journalist lucy and firefighter natsu cuz idk thats too oversaturated in fics

Modern au Natsu and Lucy strike me as high school sweethearts who were besties all through high school and got together in their senior year or not too far after graduation

Natsu definitely doesn’t pursue higher education (at least not in the form of university) because once he’s done with school he is done with school

He played a lot of sports in high school because he had so much excess energy that he needed to get out, and he was good at a lot of them

He could definitely pursue a career in sports if he wanted to, and I can see him in boxing/mma or rugby (but that might just be the kiwi in me)

Otherwise he would go the direction of working in a trade, like carpentry, mechanic, etc.

He does not want to be studying anymore, and he absolutely does not want to work an office job

Lucy on the other hand is 100% going to study but she has absolutely no idea what she wants to do and is constantly switching her major/degree

She felt a little bit of pressure to get a business degree from her father but that’s not what she wants to do and she drops out of business school in her first semester

She considers law or medicine, and she knows she has the smarts and mental fortitude to get through law/med school but it’s not something that interests her enough to warrant going through it

Ultimately I do think that Lucy’s dream job is always going to be as a writer and so figuring out a “realistic” career path is really difficult for her

College is hard for her because after being a massive overachiever in high school she has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with her life, whereas Natsu seems to figure himself out pretty quickly

She definitely has semi-frequent breakdowns about not feeling like she knows what her purpose is and Natsu tries his best to be her rock and support her

Whenever she asks him for advice/opinions he is no help whatsoever because he only really found himself falling into his career and he didn’t think as much about it as she did

If not journalism Lucy would end up studying English Lit and then getting a teaching degree and becoming a high school English teacher

She doesn’t ever stop wanting to be a writer while teaching, but she’s passionate about her job because she wants to instil the same love for literature into her students as she has

MMA fighter Natsu x teacher Lucy scenario results in a bunch of her students seeing her name and being like. Mrs. Dragneel? What like Natsu Dragneel? and then they all go wild when they find out that that is in fact who she is married to

uh omg i mean i don't typically dabble in angsty endings? i'm a happy/hopeful ending kinda gal. i did have santana die in this one fic but it ended hopefully, and then i also had maya and claudine not end up together, but it was also not bad?? idk if i've ever thought of an angsty ending that feels like a good pay off for having been put through the paces ig

the vast majority of my fics are happy endings so idk, pick any of them tbh LOL

uh god idk maybe dialogue, pacing, atmospheric setting

absolutely writing the middle and thinking of the connective tissues that would tie everything together

at this point, i think it depends? like if there's something more to be gained with it being in that other language, then i'll write it in. but if not, i just italicize it and say they said it in that other language and keep it moving LOL

god uh probably some super early hermione/ginny back in middle school and then All My Children bianca/maggie back in high school (when there were forums to join and pretend you're not a child) but those things are not posted

can there ever be just ONE favorite fic at this point in my life? can't say at this point especially with how often i've jumped fandoms and stuff but i guess in recent writing, i'd say:
