The funny thing about rhysand is that he's one the characters that are the archetype codifiers for the "dark, tortured and brooding shadow daddy love interest" that fills paranormal/dark romance/romantasy books 2010s onward.
But he fails to hold up the foundation that was set by simultaneously being less memorable than other contemporaries of same trope (see the darkling, edward cullen) and far more toothless than his (copy paste) successors.
He's generic.

A normal post a about Kevin Barnes from Poppy Playtime.
Tumblr media
I genuinely feel so bad for Kevin…
Like that was a kid who clearly had a lot of issues from the start, instead of getting the help he needed all that happened was him being marked off as a „problem child“.
And then he was turned into a toy:/
Read more of my full thoughts and a sorta character analysis/ramblings below cut!
Like honestly no wonder he is seething if he wasn’t troubled before he definitely is now-
Obviously he has no trust in anyone, almost every adult he ever knew screwed him over in some way, hell even the kids he shares a body with would go against what he would do.
Tumblr media
(Great example: When Doey chases us in his monster form, it's the arms of Matthew and Jack that are trying to keep his mouth from biting us, Kevin's are trying to grab for us.)
He was hurt over and over again, clearly he wasn’t aggressive just because he wanted to be but because this was his only way of making sure he wouldn’t get hurt.
It was how he had a semblance of control, a sense of protection.
But of course the irony is: That coping mechanism brought him more pain, it was what got him killed.
Sure, maybe he could've just "calmed down", but why would he? He was hurt again, he lost everything AGAIN.
All because he listened to their judgement over his own. Kevin could've killed the player and Poppy on sight, clearly his emotions easily overpowered the other two, but he didn't.
Instead he agreed to trust them as well.
He was still willing to do that, surely if he were just a mindless monster he wouldn't be.
And you know what? I believe he blames himself just as much if not more for what happened than he blames us and Poppy and projects it tenfold.
Because maybe, JUST MAYBE-
If he didn't allow himself to trust again, then everyone would still be alive.
But he did...now see what that got him?
In his mind he's proven right.
So what's an emotionally unstable child to do? After being hurt AGAIN?
That's right.
He lashes out at the first thing he sees that had something to do with his pain:
Us.
Is he in the right? Hell nah- bro we didn't mean for that to happen! But do you seriously think this kid is thinking rationally right now??? NO! He is seeing red right now, he is in fight mode! All emotions and must I reiterate that the only way he knows how to express them is through anger and violence?
There is NO reasoning with wrath try as you might! And that hurts because yeah maybe you could've dealt with that if he was still a gradeschooler but he isn't! He is 900 pounds of living dough with a thirst for blood!
It's either our life or his now. And we already know what the outcome of that is.
Honestly I think it's better that we only hear Matthew and Jack apologise for what happened, I do not think Kevin would even if he did feel bad for what he had done.
Because why would someone who has been scorned so many times be vulnerable all of the sudden? When his main character trait is biting at those who bark at him?Why would all that rage suddenly disappear? If anything the stress of dying only causes him to lash out more.
You don't need an apology from him to feel bad for him.
He is hurting anyone with two eyes can see that and for what it's worth, I do believe deep down he knew what he was doing was wrong but it was too late for him to see any other alternatives and even if he didn't and thought he was right for doing what he did it doesn't take away from the fact that he was fucked over by life.
Kevin is not the worst part of Doey, he is just a part of him.
And that part is not just a violent hunk of playdough.
It’s a scared, confused little boy that cared just as much about every toy in safe haven as his other two components did.
Because if he didn’t why would he get so angry about their death?
Anyway thanks for coming to my ted talk-
Tumblr media
Also feel free to agree or disagree with my take, those are just my thoughts so let me hear yours, I like discussions:}
For those interested here are some Jack thoughts and Matthew!:D

💝🧠 for metadede?
You got it, anon! Let's see...
6. 💝 What is each person’s love language (words of affirmation, acts of service, giving gifts, quality time, and physical touch)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
23. 🧠 What is one headcanon that you have about your ship/one headcanon that’s related to your ship in any way? What would they say is their partner’s best and worst quality/qualities (a physical feature, something they do, something they stand for, etc.)?
How about we ask them?
Dedede: "Oh Nova, where do I even begin with that one? Stubborn little so-and-so… thinks he’s so smart, knows everythin’ about anythin’, like he can solve all his problems by swingin’ a sword at ‘em or bein’ all mysterious about it. Peh! And he says I’m the one with the ego problem. Oh, and don’t get me started on tryna convince him he’s wrong about somethin’! He’ll go from cold shoulder to volcanic fury in a heartbeat, and won’t even apologize for it! I tell you, the grudges that man can hold are legendary, and that is not a compliment…
… He’s got drive, though, I’ll give ‘im that. When he stands for somethin', he stands for it, no matter what. Not even a storm could move him from what he believes is right. Heck, he is the storm, haha! And, man, seein’ him when he’s like that… so strong and brave, oh, so brave. Ain’t nothin’ that scares him, and if there was, well shoot, he’d just about fight it anyway. ‘Specially if it’s to protect the folks he cares about…
Plus, he’s got the cutest darn baby face under that mask, simply adorable, and it is a crime-and-a-half that he hides it from everyone, ha ha ha!"
Meta Knight: *sigh* "He’s… a lot of things, that man. Impulsive, selfish, lazy, not to mention far too quick to forgive those who have wronged him - honestly, how anyone saw fit to put a crown on his head is beyond me. Hmph. Probably why he put it there himself in the end. Just one of his many whims, didn’t even bother to think it through before barreling right in, leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces in his wake, like always…
… That isn’t to say he doesn’t care, though. Quite the contrary. He cares so much about his kingdom - his home - as well as the people within it. Lazy or not, he will fight for them, protect them with his life if need be. Even the Fountain knows this. He’s strong, a truly impressive fighter in his own right, one I am honored to stand beside. More than that, though… he’s kind, passionate, smarter than most give him credit for, and, yes… a capable leader when he puts his mind to it.
He also, er… ahem. He also gives, uh, really good hugs, so."

Inho really worked overtime to orchestrate Gihun’s affection for him.
I’m rewatching s2e5 and boy oh boy there’s some interesting manipulation going on with the speech he gives trying to sway the vote.
Inho knows the Os will win out. He’s been around to know long enough that the Os always win out. This is literally the premise of the season established with the bread vs. lottery choice that the Recruiter gives at the park. The show makes a point to show us very early on that people will always pick the excitement of possible gain (high risk, high reward; an O vote) over boring, meager stability (low risk, low reward; an X vote).
Inho knows the Os will win out; he goal is not to sway the vote. His goal is to entrench himself so firmly in Gihun’s circle of allies in the game that Gihun comes to see him as his most trusted confidant. He wants Gihun to emotionally invest in him so he can break him later. He’s fabricating Youngil to be another friend he can tear away from Gihun in his obsessive crusade to prove him wrong.
When Gihun first spoke out about his knowledge of the games in RLGL, he was openly mocked and ridiculed. In the first vote, he was accused of being a plant and had to bear the weight of his plan backfiring. Inho spares him all this and takes it on himself—the instant Gihun shouts to get everyone’s attention in the second vote, Inho interrupts him and goes off on a passionate plea of his own.
What effect does this have?
It gives Gihun the immediate relief of having someone in his corner, of not having to be the one on the receiving end of the hostility, and that’s a very powerful thing. It shows Gihun that Youngil is just as serious as he is about swaying the vote, and that’s the quickest way to his heart in that moment. He does exactly what he needs to to be Gihun’s white knight.
He demonstrates for Gihun and Gihun alone that he is the ideal friend, the ideal ally, the ideal partner.
And yet at the end, when the other players are chanting to continue, the look he gives Gihun says ‘see? This is how it will always go.’

Having thoughts about Doey being not simply an amalgamation of Jack, Kevin, and Matthew with clear lines and control, but one being born out of that unwilling and traumatic ordeal. He has traits from each, some scant memories and sensory experiences from Before, but now he's not them, he's Him, and now he has to live with that. That three kids went into making him who he is, and they're kind of present but not, and now he's Doey, but who is Doey but this horrible start, this compounded pain and misery that still is trying desperately to be good. But is that his desire, or is it one of the boys? Will he ever get out from under that shadow, could he ever be forgiven for the terrible things that happened to make him or because he was new and confused and didn't know better?
He tries to be cheerful, because that's what's needed and sometimes even in hell there are kids being kids, doing silly stuff and cracking jokes, but it's hard to square with, because Something Horrible happened and...he's the only one left standing. The scientists aren't there, Harley's gone after Playtime falls. Who is there left to blame but himself?
Anyway, my AUs have some fun stuff going on.

The more I dig into the Voyager rewatch, and the more I see Janeway is giving in more and more to the Valkyrie she's always inside. The more intriguing Janeway is. I already think she's great but digging deeper into Janeway is amazing.
I keep thinking of how Janeway holds on to the Starfleet regulations and it makes me think of that Doctor Who quote and how she fits the description to a tee:
"Good men don't need rules. Today is not the day to find out why I have so many."
I feel this is Janeway -- she has rules for a reason, she's not evil but she also knows she can go very, very far.
Janeway has been through a brutal border skirmish in the conflict with the Cardassians. She downplays it but, how Kate Mulgrew, it feels like there was a lot more there.
Tumblr media
She ranked up from Lieutenant, not because of being a Science Officer but because she's a decorated vet in a bloody siege, where they won.
As we've seen from Sige of AR-558 and the episode in Strange New Worlds ground combat is a whole different beast from ship-to-ship battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Tom looks like a zombie in the last one btw)
Also, IMO, she's one of the more inventive tacticians in Starfleet-- the way she used the torpedoes in Year of Hell as a mine was amazing!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's a great naval tactic shit. Hot girl navy.
But also, Janeway fits so much the Doctor Who, Good Man Goes to War rhyme:
Demons run when a good man goes to war. Night will fall and drown the sun, when a good man goes to war. Friendship dies and true love lies, night will fall and the dark will rise, when a good man goes to war.
It's also true of Janeway that when the three people that form the basis of Janeway's mental health died and/or became very sick, Admiral Endgame Janeway happened. And then she destroyed the Borg.
Janeway needs rules for a reason.

Found family and Steve's love saving Billy, is like a huge aspect of Harringrove, and I love that energy. Seriously never quit. But lesser explored IMO is how Billy really would have saved Steve right back. I'm not talking about from isolation and loneliness - fandom generally has a great handle on that. I'm talking about saving him from the narrative. He was doomed from the first draft to be nothing more than a projection.
Steve is a means to an end, to make other characters look better. His demise was meant to allow us to project our desires to see our own bullies and tormentors 'get theirs'. But as we know, he was pardoned from execution. But it seems pretty clear to me that it was not from a place of empathy or love of the character.
I genuinely believe Steve Harrington is despised by his narrative. He is allowed to live because he is entertaining, pretty, the fans adore him, and there's a certain satisfaction to seeing him used as a punching bag. He is king jester, given a throne and a crown so that the egg on his face is that much more entertaining to the masses. The narrative doesn't ask why he bit in the first place or whether one day he could bite again, just like it doesn't ask where his people are, what his comfort is, or what his dreams are made of; because it doesn't care. It never did. He was never meant to be cared for, only to die. The character is allowed to live and we're allowed to love him but only as a jester. Only if we accept that a fool and a useful tool for far more clever and worthy people is all he can ever be.
And what makes Harringrove really hit for me, is the way Billy is the antithesis to all of that. From his first minute on screen he encourages Steve to push back. His entire beef (supposedly) is just that he wants Steve to stop rolling over and playing the fool. He wants Steve to put up a fight . To plant his feet when he's being pushed to the ground. To make problems instead of jokes, and consequently by doing so, Steve for a few minutes stops being one. It's the one story line this show has ever given us that is purely about Steve and for Steve. We all know how it ended on the show. Steve's bloodied body being dragged along to the next adventure by the kids who essentially had to rescue him. His injuries played for laughs, and quickly forgotten in favor of monster hunting. Billy demonized, drugged and laid out by the sister he was trying to protect, left in the dark and zipping blindly down the path to his own execution.
The show doomed them both to humiliation, failure, and death by different names. But Harringrove as a concept frees the characters to be more than canon allowed them to be, and I Iove fics that acknowledge how much they fundamentally needed to find each other. They are each other's making and I find that to be really beatiful.

I have a thought about Vil. I could be wrong, but I wanted to throw it out there. Also, if anyone has evidence for or against my theory, feel free to elaborate. We like healthy discussions here lol:
My theory is that Vil is a touchy person, especially to the people he loves. The reason he doesn’t do it often is because of PR training and being conscious about his reputation. If he doesn’t monitor his behavior, it could not only negatively impact him but also his friends, family, and fans. Vil also covers it up well because he’s so self-disciplined. It’s not a problem for him.
My evidence for this is are the few times where Vil becomes physically affectionate because is so happy that he forgets, doesn’t care, or nobody else is around.
Example 1: Book 6 Kiss and Hug Scene. I don’t think I have to explain more, but I will. If this were any other dorm that came to save the corresponding overblot member, they would not throw themselves at the others (minus Kalim. We’ve already established that he’s a touchy and sociable person by nature, and he loves Jamil).
Heartslabyul? Trey would give Riddle a hug, and that’s probably it in terms of physical affection
Savanaclaw? …I don’t remember what happens at the end of the Savanaclaw sequence in Book 7, but that would be the reactions. For the life of me, I cannot remember. Someone fill in the gap pls
Octavinelle? The only touching would be Floyd squeezing Azul. Azul would try to avoid it so no touching
We’ve already established Scarabia and Pomefiore.
Ignihyde? …idk… I’m kinda on the fence, but I think I’m leaning away from physical affection. I imagine it would similar to whenever he reunites with Ortho in Book 7 at some point. However, I haven't read that in a long time. It could be inaccurate
Diasomnia? Ok, I can see them hugging each other. They love each other a lot. No kiss though
Regardless, Vil went into European physical affection levels
Example 2: (here’s where the arguments start to get weaker but still relevant lol) Bean Day Event ending. Rook and Vil hug really tight, which doesn’t happen that often. Plus, both of them are exhausted in a good way, so another moment where he lets his guard down
Example 3?: Pomefiore reunion in Book 7? They must’ve hugged. I don't remember, but I can't imagine they didn't
I have some speculations that support my theory. However, it’s on shaky ground, and I don’t want to dig to see if my thought process is solid.
Vil is a physical person. He puts a lot of effort into maintaining his body. Obviously, that's not the only thing. However, it is a huge part of it. I think because he's so conscious and values the physical world, he would probably be more inclined to like that type of affection.
This could all be wrong, but it's just a thought. Let me know what you think!!

Watching The Pitt (Max) for the third time and I've noticed something.
Everyone points out Robby's misogynistic bias when stressed. But can we talk about Langdon's oblivious misogynistic issues??
Like he literally shrugs when Dana points out his wife could use a vacation and his reaction is "Don't I deserve one, I'm the doctor." Mind you he has two kids under four and from what I can tell, Abby his wife is a stay at home mom or a work from home mom, either way she is very obviously around the kids more than Langdon. Add on he got a dog without discussing it in general with HIS FUCKING WIFE.
And in Langdon's case, he's iffy when it comes to teaching female residents. Like Santos gets under his skin but as Robby points out, belittling and shaming are not good teaching tools and as Robby also points out, PTMC is a teaching hospital (Robby himself was even able to put his anger with McKay aside to have a teaching moment).
I think we miss it cause we all love the way he and Mel work together but he's very oblivious. And we won't know if it's just the drugs until season 2.
Honestly, all the characters of The Pitt have a blind spot.
Collin's literally points out McKay's when a plus size patient comes back in after crashing her car.
As a Writer: All the blind spots and imperfections are wonderful to see in characters. Whether we like it or not, the world is shades of grey and having character flaws is realistic.

untouched tragedies of elder faerie cookie (aka, some thoughts on the bug.)
Tumblr media
elder faerie is such an interesting character to me, i truly wish he was done some more justice....
his purpose is to die. he knows that. it isn't sugarcoated, none of that... he is well aware that if he fails as guardian, death is the only other resort. he is nothing if not guardian. hell, if he relinquished those duties under some circumstance, i'm not sure he'd be able to find much identity outside of it. something very notable about each of these faeries is that they simply take life as it is given to them.
elder faerie knows how morbid his duty is and still fulfils it without question! it's no secret that he's terrified of the witches to some degree. he guards the aftermath of their magic. he was taught first hand by them. he knows exactly what these godlike creatures are capable of. which makes him being unable to stop white lily all the more heartbreaking ☹️
he knew she would die out there yet still didn't hold her back. she was the first cookie whom truly understood his duty, motives .. exactly why his mission was so sacred. his respect for her own mission and seeking of freedom, truth, was her demise.
elder faerie also seems to know the truth — if not greatly implied. he carries eons upon eons of burdens and truths and yet does not fall victim to them, he's designed to be like that.
the fact he is able to feel - unlike the silver knights - is so SO important. to truly feel the passion for the life he protects, he must have those emotions. he still bears the weight of the world and can feel it all. those burdens still weigh upon him. he does not have the privilege of simply being able to wipe away his memories and slivers of an identity in thick silver. as these knights also need a leader with some hold, otherwise it creates a true hivemind.
very notable that elder faerie is the reason why we weren't cooked up until this point by the way. the witches, of course, performed the original sealing, but ever since then the weight of the world has been upon him. these witches are long gone.
many will never know that it is elder faerie whom has kept the world from being plunged into darkness on multiple occasions. as he, just like all else in beast yeast, has been washed away by the tides of time.
his power at full capacity is implied to be great. he has mentioned sealing the beasts away on the occasions they did escape, fighting them back each time. and look at what white lily did with only PART of the guardian's power!!!! the witches would also not assign a warden significantly weaker than whom he barricades.
this all circles back to elder faerie's purpose being tragic. the sealing was futile from the beginning, these beasts were always destined to escape. elder faerie's many eons of agony were only a delay of the inevitable. and to think how many more he could've endured if not finally given that peace..
+ sad he did actually die, but his death was enjoyable in some way. NOT THAT I LIKED THE FACT HE DIED I WANT HIM BACK but it was his final flip off to the beasts. he died to his own overexertion, none of them got the satisfaction of bloodying their hands with his remains. he was able to securely pass on his power too so a guardian would still remain. no wonder shadow milk crashed out, absolute peak.
truly hope we learn more about elder faerie as a person, there has to be SOMETHING outside of his duty. it's what white lily and his subjects grew to know, after all. and also his thoughts behind more questionable things (see: silver knights)..... delve into his grief and tragic fate please and tyy <3

There was a missed opportunity in not having the ic disagree with rhysand during the demon baby plot. Especially if you kept how self congratulatory they were about making fun of lucien for caring about tamlin and not "opening his eyes to the truth". Like, imagine that they all vote no because not telling a person about their body is abusive and even if the ic didn't really care about feyre on a personal level, they weren't going let their friend do something so horrible to their partner. Rhysand forces them not to say anything and they have to (reluctantly) go behind their friend's back to not only save feyre's life, but his.
And while they try to find a way to discreetly inform feyre, nesta is the one to reveal it to her, angered by the violation of both thier autonomies. Rhysand, who already hated nesta, finds out and threatens/tries to kill her but the ic close ranks against rhysand for the first time in centuries.
So now rhys is locked in the river house to prevent him from doing anything else and cassian is explaining this to lucien (as they need his help) who's just like:

That illustration is making me want to slam my head against solid concrete, Art block said no, and I know when to pick my battles so fuck it we ball-
A normal post about Matthew Hallard from Poppy Playtime
I briefly mentioned this in the Jack post, the fact that I didn't think I had anything new or particularly interesting to say on Matthew as I always thought the Fandom had a lot of the bases covered.
But the more I actually thought about him, the more I wanted to talk about one thing in particular:
Let's talk about Doeys tape.
In game we find a vhs tape recorded by Doey, talking about how he almost ditched everyone in favor of running away, ultimately deciding to go back for them instead. It reveals a lot about how he truly feels about the responsibility that has been given to him.
I think it was so important to include this and the reason why is quite simple:
It humanises Matthew for me.
Why I point him out specifically is due to reasons I mentioned in my other analysis, Jack's control is mostly passive, Kevin only really comes to the forefront when he feels like there is a threat to assess or deal with and it has been confirmed that Matthew is the oldest of the children as well as having been a leader of sorts since he was still a human child, so in the tape it's basically him venting.
Which is great as it makes something crystal clear: He is not a perfect saint.
Matthew is a teenager who has been parentified from an incredibly young age, places immense pressure on himself, is suffering from more burnout than a college kid and not to mention the horror that is his current existence and life-
He doesn't WANT this responsibility, he only takes it on because nobody else will or can.
And nobody even thinks to ask him ONCE how HE is doing, no,no it's him who has to do that, he is not allowed to have breaks.
For godness sake he literally tells us in the tape that he is recording it because he feels like he can't talk to anyone about his problems!
The toys- The children having someone like Doey or more accurately Matthew is not a guarantee, it is a privilege but it's a privilege Matthew needs to!
And you rarely ever see kind characters COMPLAIN about having to be kind all the time, truly looking after everyone else drains you, it's exhausting to fulfill the needs of others, more often than not you'll have to put aside your own and when you really pull the shit end of the stick you get more complains then appreciation for your troubles.
It is such a CHORE and I think a character struggling with being so selfless actually can have such a massive impact instead of just being able to handle everything, it's that tiny bit of realism I love.
Despite how exhausted and miserable Matthew was over being stuck in this position in the end he turned back. Because he loves his friends that much, and he should get massive props for that.
And to think he still did so much but didn't think anything he did was good enough is just painful, like no honey you are enough, more than enough-
Also Poppy having once been the leader makes you think that maybe Matthew might have been hurt the most by her disappearing.
Like her leading was the closest thing to a break he ever got- and then she just up and disappears?? And it's all up to him now? Not to mention the concern? The worry??
Boy it speaks volumes that he doesn't seem to display more hostility towards her considering Poppy doesn't even EXPLAIN herself on why she left or why she couldn't come back.
He is even civil in discussing the fact that she demands for them to be okay with being blown up(also correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Poppy also include in her plan that SHE will get to live? If I heard that I would be flabbergasted.) But that's something I should discuss in another post.
Tumblr media
For now that is everything I have about my boy, if you want to see what I have to say about other characters here is Kevin annnnnnd Jack, plus some extra stuff on Doey

Thinking about the dance confrontation with Anteaterina. It reminded me once again how much I adore Ahiru and my confusion with that one trend of people giving Princess Tutu a sword or wishing she'd 'fought back more.' I don't see this anymore, thankfully, but I also don't see Tutu talked abt as often either, which is a bit of a shame.
Princess Tutu's weapons are her empathy and compassion. She dances with hurting people, listens to their woes and accepts their feelings even while they are twirling up tornadoes or tossing her about in their upset. I think many forget that she became Tutu in their first place due to those traits and wanting her to match the energy of people who are just aching and lashing out because of their overwhelming feelings (that are often being amplified by the shards) is a little disheartening.
They want to be heard, they want to be seen, they want SOMEONE to care, and Ahiru does. She becomes Tutu because she wants to banish the loneliest in Mytho's eyes when she sees him dancing at the lake alone, she collects his heart shards because she thinks it's sad to not have a heart at all, she dances with her antagonists because they are in pain and she wants to help! She talks to them, comforting them, telling them what they NEED to hear, giving them the chance to get their grievances off their chests instead of forcing them to give up their shards in combat because that's how she fights!
She's collecting a heart, guys, shouldn’t she use her own?

One of the things we don’t give Junho enough credit for is how incredibly quick he is to adapt socially.
He is extremely quick to pick up on the rules of the island for different levels of guards AND as a waiter for the VIPs. This means he’s an extremely quick study, that he’s very detail-oriented, and that he’s got great observation skills.
Combine that with nerves of fucking steel and this self-destructive streak he has and no wonder he got so far in the first season. I really hope they’ll make him pivotal to destroying the games in s3.

Oh, wow… a whole batch of ‘em! Really giving me a run for my money, Anon, haha! (Maybe I should’ve put a cap on how many can be submitted at once… ^^’ ) Don’t worry about it, though, I think I can manage this one. Let’s see…
6. 💝 What is each person’s love language (words of affirmation, acts of service, giving gifts, quality time, and physical touch)?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
18. 💓 How did they tell their friends that they were together/do their friends know or is their relationship a secret?
I haven’t really talked about how Marx and Magolor meet in the CFAU yet... mostly because it’s, like, a Whole Thing™. A story I was working on well before the CFAU was even conceptualized and practically a sub-AU in and of itself. It’s also… very work-in-progress and very not finished yet (kinda fell on the back burner once the other AUs took precedent, oops ^^’ ). Just know that the boys get the slow-burn treatment something fierce. Seriously, they don’t even get to the QPR stage until some time after Mags returns from purgatory, and even then only after some lingering baggage is dealt with…
Anyway, to make a long and incredibly complicated story short, they figure it out eventually (idiots-in-not-quite-love style), keeping it a poorly-guarded secret when they inevitably end up back on Popstar. Then - after a bunch of [REDACTED] happens, a crisis is narrowly averted, and things get sappy and cathartic - Marx just kind of… blurts it out, completely unbothered, tired of all the hiding and running and keeping secrets (at least for today). It leaves the Dream Land 4 in varying shades of surprised (or not surprised) and Magolor in a single shade of mortified… though not for too long. After all, it’s not like it’s the worst secret to even come out about him, and certainly not one he should be ashamed of.
When they have a moment to talk about it later, it might go something like this:
Mags: I can’t believe you did that. In front of everyone. Without even asking me first. Marx: Heh, sorry. Got caught up in the moment. I mean, you try keepin’ a secret like that after almost dyin’, hehe… Um. You’re not… actually mad about it, are you? Mags: … *sigh* No. It’s fine. I’ll be fine. Heh, honestly? It’s… kind of a relief.
9. 👀 What do other characters think of their relationship? Do they approve or disapprove?
To tie in with the previous question, how about some more ✨ non-canon interviews ✨? (Fair warning - this is happening after the end of a story I haven’t told or finished yet, so these answers are probably gonna be vague as hell and very out-of-context.)

22. 🥄 When they’re cuddling together who’s the big spoon and who’s the little spoon?
Marx has more of the “big-spoon energy” between them (though good luck getting Magolor to admit that), but trying to cuddle with his wings is… not ideal, as the raw magic that perpetually leaks from them is enough to overwhelm Magolor’s finely-tuned senses (like staring into a spotlight from inches away or walking into a very saturated perfume department). Besides, Magolor is the one with hands around here, so the role of big spoon tends to default to him anyway. Marx doesn’t mind so much, trusting the wizard enough to feel comfortable (even safe) curled up against him. Magolor - who’s still recovering from a life of being a socially-distant, touch-starved hermit - is always a little worried he’s doing it wrong but gets better about it with time, which is nice.
