Chloroform Prices Index: Trend, Chart, News, Graph, Demand, Forecast
In the first quarter of 2025, the global chloroform market experienced a period of notable stability, with pricing dynamics largely shaped by consistent supply-demand fundamentals and steady feedstock availability. Chloroform prices showed resilience across key regional markets including North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, supported by stable production levels and moderate to strong demand from end-use sectors such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and refrigerants. In the United States, chloroform prices remained relatively firm throughout Q1, with only minor fluctuations. The market opened January on a stable note, with prices supported by a balanced supply chain and continued demand from pharmaceutical manufacturers. A short-lived dip of approximately 0.8% was recorded in mid-January, primarily due to reduced seasonal demand from the agrochemical sector and increased inventory accumulation. However, this decline was swiftly corrected, and prices returned to early-month levels by the end of January, highlighting the underlying strength and balance in the market.
February and March in the U.S. continued to reflect this stability. Even as methanol, the primary feedstock for chloroform, recorded a price decline of nearly 3.6%, the impact on chloroform pricing remained minimal. The pharmaceutical industry remained the key driver of demand, especially amid increasing investments in domestic drug manufacturing and continued R&D activity. Meanwhile, demand from the agrochemical sector was affected by agricultural output cycles and weather-related variations, but these factors did not significantly disrupt overall market equilibrium. By the close of Q1 2025, chloroform prices in the U.S. had only declined by about 1.7% from early January levels, underscoring the market's resilience. Adequate inventory levels and consistent procurement patterns further contributed to price stability, with no major supply chain disruptions or demand shocks anticipated in the near term.

In the Asia-Pacific region, particularly South Korea, the chloroform market showed similar signs of robustness. The quarter began with a short-lived price increase of around 2.6% during early January, triggered by an uptick in upstream methanol and natural gas costs. However, as methanol prices stabilized and domestic production remained consistent, chloroform prices quickly returned to normal levels. Throughout February and March, the market maintained a steady pace, with stable feedstock costs and balanced downstream demand. The pharmaceutical sector displayed cautious optimism, influenced by ongoing political uncertainties and limited industrial activity. In contrast, the agrochemical industry supported chloroform consumption through strategic procurement, especially in response to regulatory developments under South Korea’s K-REACH framework. By the end of March, prices remained steady, reflecting a well-managed supply-demand scenario. Exports held firm, and domestic production was largely uninterrupted, allowing the market to maintain equilibrium despite a subdued economic backdrop.
Europe’s chloroform market, with a focus on Germany, also displayed relatively steady pricing trends over the first quarter of the year. The early part of January witnessed a moderate price uptick of around 2–3%, driven by steady demand from the pharmaceutical sector and favorable supply conditions. This period of stability persisted through most of January as the market remained balanced with minimal volatility. February brought a minor dip in prices, estimated at around 2.5%, corresponding with a decline in methanol costs that lowered production expenses. While the agrochemical sector remained a steady consumer, external challenges such as regulatory hurdles and inclement weather impacted demand growth. Nevertheless, these factors were not sufficient to significantly shift market dynamics. Toward the end of the quarter, chloroform prices in Germany rose notably by 6.4%, mainly due to supply constraints arising from production slowdowns and logistical issues, including port congestion and transportation delays. Despite these challenges, demand from key sectors like pharmaceuticals and refrigerants remained consistent, pushing overall prices higher. By the end of Q1 2025, chloroform prices in the European market had increased by approximately 4–5%, a reflection of tighter supply conditions and sustained downstream consumption.
Overall, the global chloroform market during Q1 2025 was characterized by price stability, supported by balanced supply-demand fundamentals, steady feedstock availability, and reliable end-user sector performance. While regional variations in pricing trends did occur due to localized supply issues or shifts in feedstock costs, the broader market exhibited resilience and consistency. The pharmaceutical sector emerged as the primary demand driver across all major regions, reinforcing the importance of chloroform as a key industrial solvent. The agrochemical and refrigerant sectors also played significant roles, though seasonal variations and regulatory factors led to minor demand fluctuations. Feedstock trends, particularly methanol prices, had a limited impact on overall chloroform pricing due to stable production levels and efficient inventory management. As the market looks ahead to the next quarter, no significant disruptions are forecasted, suggesting that chloroform prices are likely to remain stable barring unforeseen macroeconomic or geopolitical developments. This stability makes chloroform an attractive commodity for stakeholders across the chemical value chain, with pricing trends in Q1 2025 offering a reliable outlook for manufacturers, traders, and downstream industries alike.

Frost - 3

Hydra wants to create a second winter solider
Part 1 here
Part 2 here
Dad!Bucky Barnes, Daughter OC!
Warnings: mentioned/implied SA, death
Story Summary: Hydra has conducted countless experiments to recreate the serum they gave Bucky so they can continue to create more Winter Soldiers. All experiments thus far has been failures. What happens when they give one final hypothesis a shot.
Word Count: 979
Bucky stood behind a one-way mirror that looked into the cell of the woman Hydra deemed worthy of carrying their future perfect soldier. Hydra security found her through internet databases and street security cam footage, deeming her the perfect healthy candidate. It was Bucky’s job to bring her here. To kidnap her while she was on her way home from her closing shift. Not long after she locked the doors and began walking into the night Bucky emerged from the shadows, as quietly as a mouse. Quickly coming up behind her with a rag doused in chloroform. Firming pressing it against her face while holding her arms back. Quickly knocking her out. And now she was here. Waking up in a cold concrete cell, scared. Bucky stood amongst some of Hydra’s scientists and doctors, watching her through the one-way mirror as she panicked to escape.
Once Dr. Zymin gave Bucky the okay, he made his way around to the cell along with another guard. The guard unlocked the door and Bucky walked in. The guard closed the door and locked it behind him. The woman was terrified. She sat on the floor. Pressing herself against the wall. Bucky stared down at her. His gaze was cold and unwelcoming. This was his mission and he had to complete it. He began stepping towards her. She tried even harder to escape into the wall. Wishing she could somehow phase through the concrete wall. “No no no please” She whispered. Tears falling down her cheeks. Streaking her makeup into a watercolor mess. Bucky said nothing. Closing the distance between them he began to unbuckle his belt.
The woman was monitored very closely by Hydras doctors for the next nine months. Every day she would wake up to the sound of banging on her metal cell door. Soon after the guards would come in. Their heavy boots hit the ground hard as they walked up to her. Clasping cold cuffs around her wrists before escorting her out of the cell, through the halls, and into the lab. She’d lay on cold metal beds while the doctors monitored her pregnancy. Making sure every moment was going according to plan and that this child would be the perfect healthy baby Zymin wanted.
Bucky sprung up from his slumber, startled. He barely slept and when he did it was never hard, he was constantly on alert. The sound of feet quickly moving through the hallways accompanied by hasty murmurs filled the space outside his cell. There was no use in getting up to investigate the commotion, guards kept his door locked at all times.
After what felt like hours, Bucky heard familiar heavy footsteps approaching his door. He watched as the door unlocked and two Hydra guards walked in. One was taller and leaner while the other was a bit shorter and muscular. “Zymin requests you in the lab”. The taller guard said. Bucky stood and the guards escorted him to the lab. As they walked through the hallways Bucky took notice of the lack of people, compared to all the commotion he heard earlier, there was not a soul in sight as they made their way through Hydra’s maze of dimly lit hallways. The green fluorescent cast a sickly hue on the cold cement walls. They approached the lab, a bright white light peeked through the crack in the double doors. The taller guard reached out, pushing the door open for Bucky. The lab was so bright. The dingy cement walls and floors dampened the room but the lights were blinding, It took a second for Bucky's eyes to adjust. Once they did he finally saw what the commotion was about, the baby had been born. Bucky took a spot next to Dr. Zymin as they watched over the operation. The woman looked exhausted, sweat making her hair stick to her forehead. But the doctors no longer cared about her. They were all swarmed around the child. They had placed the child on a table to the side where they all were monitoring it. It felt like there were far too many doctors to even be doing anything efficient but they all seemed to move together like a well-oiled machine. “Solider,” Zymin said, causing Bucky to quickly turn his attention to him. Zymin didn’t make eye contact with Bucky, rather keeping his gaze locked on the woman. “I need you to get rid of her. Now that she's done her job we can’t have an outsider here. It’s too risky. Dispose of her however you want. I don’t care.” Bucky turned his attention back to the woman. She looked so pale. She’d probably die on her own if she was simply left there. Bucky walked over to her. The woman turned and looked up at him. Her eyes were glossy but her lids hung low. Her face cried to him for help, but nothing was enough to break through to him. He slid his arms under her body, one under her legs and another under her back, and lifted her. As Bucky made his way out of the room Dr. Zymin made his way over to the baby. “Dr. Zymin!” a spry-looking doctor walked up to Dr. Zymin “The experiment worked sir! The baby has the serum in her DNA as we hypothesized! We have run all her vitals and everything is perfect. You have a perfect healthy baby girl sir.” The doctor stood tall, proud, as he proclaimed to Dr. Zymin. “Wonderful” Zymin responded. His deep voice always sounded sinister. All the other doctors moved out of the way as Zymin approached the baby. He reached down and picked up the baby, holding her high. “You will do wonders for our mission my child. Hail Hydra”. A hush fell over the room then the faint sound of a gunshot ran off in the distance.

A Lost Cause
Synopsis: The trusted keeper of all the Heroes' secrets, Civilian's existence is kept a tightly guarded secret itself. So how did the villain find her? And how will she withstand the attempts of his scientist to break her open and discover those secrets himself?
CW: nonconsensual drugging, medical whump, medical experimentation, mentions of wounds from torture
They ambushed her at one AM on a Wednesday night. She had just chugged a glass of water and was walking back towards her bedroom when five men appeared like plumes of smoke in the dim light of the living room lamp.
Immediately she smashed the glass on the head of the nearest one. He stumbled back and tripped over the corner of the coffee table, blood gushing down the side of his face. A second man got a donkey kick to the knees and an elbow to the face. But then she tripped on the baggy hem of her sleep pants and that gave the other three men all the opportunity they needed to hold her arms down and chloroform her.
When she woke up, mind foggy with cotton mouth, the familiar walls of her home had been replaced with metal. She sat tied to a chair and sitting across the metal table from her was a man she’d never seen before.
It wasn’t the why that perplexed her. Even though she never participated in the famous battles that raged across the cities of the world, or had her face blazoned on billboards, or plastered all over the news like the rest of her superhero brethren, she was the most valuable member of the team for one simple reason:
She knew everyone’s secrets.
Their real names and social security numbers. Their home addresses and family members. Their bank app passwords. The limitations of their powers and their weaknesses.
She knew these secrets because that was part of her job. She coordinated their lives. When someone got hurt, she arranged medical treatment. When the teammates that couldn’t fly had to go halfway around the world, she kept the private jet refueled and paid the maintenance crew. When someone’s family was in danger, she put them into hiding. She bought booked air bnb rooms under false names, she ran the grocery lists for their base, she made sure Mother’s day cards and birthday presents were sent on time.
Her teammates trusted her with this because she was a vault herself. Her power nullified everyone else’s in a wide radius around her. She had training in three forms of martial arts, could hack into almost any database around her and thus prevent from being hacked, and could shoot with fairly decent accuracy multiple types of guns.
And when all of that didn’t work, she had a memory palace like an ancient Greek maze that no telepath could find their way through if they ever caught her at a distance.
But the best protection she had was her anonymity. Her association with her teammates was their most highly guarded secret. So it wasn’t the why so much as the how.
How did Villain find her? How did he even know she existed?
Of course, no one was interested in answering her questions.
The man sitting across the table from her gave her a bemused half smile when she demanded this information. It gave him a boyish, non-threatening air despite the dark tinted sunglasses he wore.
“I’m afraid you have things rather backwards,” he said, voice soft and pleasant. Like they were on a coffee date. “I’m the one who gets the answers and you are the one who gets the questions.”
“You’re not getting shit from me,” she spat.
Her hands wiggled against the bonds tying her to the chair. The zip ties cut into her skin, tight enough that she worried about her circulation. If the man noticed her testing them out, he did not reveal it. Instead that half smile grew slowly into a smirk.
“I’m sure you believe that. You seem to have a very strong will. But willpower doesn’t really matter when I’m involved.”
He took his glasses off, folded them with care, and placed them with care inside his coat pocket. Brown eyes, sweet and warm like hot chocolate, looked back at her. He leaned forward, hands clasped before him, and focused those eyes on her.
“You will answer every question I ask, truthfully, with every relevant detail you can think of.”
His voice was low and soothing, with an easy confidence of someone used to getting their way. It gave her great pleasure to respond to him, leaning forward as much as her bonds would allow.
“You will go to hell,” she murmured, matching his tone, “and on the way there you can kiss my ass.”
The man tilted his head, eyebrows raised. Did he really think she was going to give him everything, just like that?
“Tell me your name,” he commanded in that same soft tone.
“Go fuck yourself.”
Surprise spread across his face. “Do you really feel no compulsion to do as I say?”
“Did you really think it would be that easy?” she retorted.
He just stared at her, eyes wide in delightful curiosity.
“Fascinating,” he murmured, pulling his glasses back out of his coat pocket. “Well, I suppose you and I are at an impasse. I could advise you give me your answers willingly, rather than face torture. But I assume you would not take that advice.”
“Your assumption would be correct.”
“A shame. You have such spirit. It’s a pity they will break it.”
Fear curled in her gut but she refused to let it show. “We’ll see about that.”
He slipped his glasses back on, hiding those sweet brown eyes. “When you feel like death would be a mercy, please remember that I tried to give you a choice.”
That line haunted her as she experienced the worst days of her life. No food, no water, no rest. Endless pain. Even as she burrowed herself further and further into her own mind, the pain followed her through every passage of the maze. She intentionally twisted herself down paths with dead ends, paths that recurved on themselves, keeping herself away from the information they wanted so badly.
If she could just hold out long enough, her team would rescue her.
She just had to last. Just a little bit longer.
The next time she found herself strapped to the chair in front of the table, the zip ties were the only thing holding her up, slippery from the blood. The light from the lamp felt like a laser in her eyes. A different man sat across the table from her, his features hazy from her blurred vision. The man was older, that much she could tell, and dressed in a sharp black suit.
Villain. She’d seen his face in so many files, in so much research for her team on him. She would know him in her sleep.
“You are remarkably stubborn,” he said, crossing his legs. “I see why they entrusted their secrets to you. A shame I didn’t find you first. That kind of loyalty is hard to find and even harder to buy.”
She had no quip for him, no scathing remarks. All her focus went to not puking.
“I am not going to waste any more of my resources trying to break you. That may sound like good news at first, but it simply means you are now completely valueless to me. That’s a very dangerous position to be in. Normally I would kill you and dispose of every trace of your existence, but my top scientist has asked me to spare you.”
He stood up, brushing imaginary dirt from his suit coat. “Again, that may sound like good news, but you will wish that I had killed you before long, that much I can assure you.”
Before she could make sense of this development, something sharp pricked the side of her neck and then she knew nothing at all.
Life passed in hazy flashes. She was in a bed. She heard birds and felt sunlight. She saw the man in the sunglasses. It was impossible to tell what was a dream and what was real. When she finally fully woke up, the world appeared in stages.
First the beeping. Then the cozy heaviness of a blanket. A small pain in her hand when she jostled it. When her eyes flittered open, she saw walls of deep green and cream, an IV drip that ran to the back of her left hand, a row of succulents on the window sill. A desk and a man sitting at it, scribbling in a notebook. A familiar, bespectacled man.
“Where am I?” she asked.
Or tried to ask. All that game out of her dry, dusty throat was a croak.
The man’s scribbling stopped abruptly and he looked over his shoulder.
“Are you finally awake?” he asked, standing up.
Another groan filtered from her cracked lips. He walked over to a side table that held a pitcher of water and poured her a glass, dropping in a plastic straw. His fingers pressed something on the side of the bed and the front half lifted slowly up until she was sitting.
“Drink slowly,” he said.
He held the glass to her lips and she sipped the water through the straw. It took everything in her not to chug it, not to rip it out of his grasp and drown in it when he pulled it away and set the glass on the table.
“Where am I?” she asked again, voice hoarse.
“Ah, here we go again thinking you can ask the questions,” he said with that crooked smile.
She glared at him, which only made his smile grow wider.
“I think though, this time I will be more generous with my answers. You are in my personal facilities. This is the medical recovery room. There is also my lab, my rooms, a kitchen. Everything we need, in short, for a long stay.”
Nausea roiled in her stomach, and she wasn’t sure if it came from the medicine he put her on or the implication of his words.
“Are you . . .the scientist?” she whispered.
It hurt to talk.
“I am a scientist, certainly.”
Another glare. Another smile.
“Why?”
Why was she here? Why did he want her? Why wasn’t she dead? All words that caught in her throat.
“Why am I a scientist? That story dates to my childhood, and I doubt you have much interest in that. Let’s say that I have a fascination with the rules of the world and how you can manipulate them.”
This man was impossible. If she had any strength left, she would have strangled him with the cord of her IV drip.
The steady beep of her heart rate monitor spiked with her anger. He glanced over at it with mild surprise.
“Don’t you feel at least a little hypocritical,” he asked, “expecting the truth from me when you refuse to give it yourself?”
Hypocritical? Hypocritical?
“Are you serious right now?” she hissed.
“As a heart attack. Like the one you might give yourself if you don’t keep your anger in check,” he added. “Take deep, slow breaths. Your body is still fragile. We wouldn’t want to undo all the progress of your recovery, would we?”
She took deep slow breaths, hating him the entire time, if only to keep him from knowing how much he got under her skin. He watched with little nods of approval.
“That’s it. Good. Now that you’re awake, I will take some of your vitals and check your bandages.”
Bandages? She resisted the sudden, panic laced urge to rip the blanket off and check her over her body. What injuries she sustained, he would reveal soon enough.
She held herself very still while he listened to her chest with a stethoscope. She realized then someone, most likely him, had dressed her in a medical gown and done away with the tattered remnants of her pajamas. He took her blood pressure, pinched the skin of her forearm for dehydration, took her temperature, before sliding the covers back and revealing bandages on her thighs, her knees, wrapped around her feet.
“Cuts and burns,” he explained at her morbidly curious expression.
“I don’t feel them,” she said in surprise.
“You have very good drugs in that IV drip.”
He treated her injuries with an antibiotic salve, spreading it oh so gently with gloved fingers. Then he returned the blankets over her lap and tugged up her medical gown. She tried to fight it, fingers gripping the hem as tight as she could manage, but he easily overpowered her.
“Relax, this is nothing inappropriate. You have bruised ribs.”
He checked her with the cold methodical touch of a professional before gently tugging her dress back down.
“You’re healing very well,” he said proudly. As if she had anything to do with it. “I expect partial recovery within two weeks and a full recovery within the month.”
He straightened up and slid his stethoscope off. “You should get more rest. Sleep is the most crucial component of healing.”
Her hand snaked out and grabbed a fistful of his shirt. Her grip may have been weak and pathetic, but she held on with all her strength regardless. The man considered her, his expression impressible to tell with his sunglasses on.
“Why?” she rasps throat aching. “Tell me why . . .please.”
It cost her to beg like that. And maybe he sensed that, because he bent down again and brushed an errant curl back from her face.
“Villain may consider you a lost cause, but I do not give up so easily. You are a fascinating little puzzle box and I am dying to create the tools that will break you open.”
He chucked her under the chin, and made his way out.

Rewatching K is fun because they hyped Saruhiko up to be way more evil than he actually ends up being. Mr. “My only interest is in flesh and blood”, chloroforms a girl to gain access to Ashinaka’s database, calculated and teasing because he knows exactly how to hurt Misaki and draw out his hatred and then over time Gora scrapped that in favor of making him a lot more interesting than ‘one note evil yandere’.

˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ i am very flattered by the quick response that part one garnered! ( ⸝⸝´꒳`⸝⸝) thank you everyone! every like, reblog, and comment means very much to me ♡ as such i wanted to get part two out as fast as possible. please enjoy leon's thoughts ♡

he met you in the aftermath.
♡ the nightmare was fresh, the dead still clung to leon's clothes, and he had no idea what to do.
♡ he still had sherry to take care of; but his mind was scattered.
♡ he had no family. he had just broken up with his girlfriend. he was out of a job, out of a home, out of a life.
♡ it was crushing.
♡ rather than try and let it show how badly he was being consumed, he decided to try and get some help. therapists were booked up by months, going to a hospital would mean sherry would be alone, and he barely had anyone to vent to.
♡ keyword: barely
♡ he had found an online forum via AOL and realised it was for survivors. at first, he posted a bit on an anonymous account, not wanting to stick around for long.
♡ he spoke about marvin, claire, ada, everyone he had met, the horrors he saw, with some discretion to the less believable parts.
♡ the people were kind. they spoke softly to him.
but then they turned to you.
♡ you had a post detailing your sorrow at the loss of your brother, who had been on what would've been Leon's squad, and how you tried to save him. but your brother was altruistic to a fault, and you couldn't save him from himself.
♡ his heart ached. he understood. he got it. he couldn't save marvin, after all. someone who was already gone is the worst kind of person to mourn.
♡ he began looking through some of your previous posts. it was a lot of you trying to give people advice, comfort, camaraderie in death.
you were so...achingly sweet.
♡ it was easy to start spiraling, truth be told. you were that kind. you were that overwhelming, like incense or perfume or chloroform.
♡ it started out just as friendly talking. Leon didn't want to put his name on the forum, nor did he really want to make an account, so he simply kept on commenting on anything you wrote.
♡ you were hurting, that's for sure. he was too. maybe you could hurt together.
♡ you were so compassionate, answering everything he sent with wise words and cautious exposure.
♡ after a while, you began to open up to him. luckily, he put his last initial as a calling card-K-so you would remember him, and soon enough it felt like you two were truly friends.
♡ you seemed to grieve differently from him, as evidenced from how quickly you seemed to shift from wounded to medic, to trying to help those in the forum.
he then got curious
♡ your username wasn't that strange, but it had your first name in it.
♡ from there, it was a simple search on the STARS database to find out who you were.
♡ and oh...you were just as lovely as he thought you were. your eyes, your skin, your face-everything was you.
♡ he took some liberties, sure. he printed out some of the photos from the database, took some home, held on in his wallet.
♡ maybe it was weird that he placed them in frames around his house.
♡ maybe it was bizarre that he slept with one of the photos. held in his arms, tucked under his pillow when he's not in his new apartment.
♡ the photos tie him over, in those restless nights where he's alone and wishes oh god that you were here that you were with him.
♡ he thinks about how soft you'd feel, how warm you'd be, how gentle the touch of your fingers would be against his arms, his chest, his-!
♡ maybe it was a bit creepy. he's not so delusional as to think it wasn't-not yet, at least.
that's okay, though. he's doing it out of love!
♡ he finally cracks. after a day of no response, he decides to abuse his power and find out where you are.
♡ and when he does, it's like the world is crumbling around him.
♡ you had gotten a job? you'd gone outside?
♡ it's good, sure. but at the same time, it's so alarming. was your job really so tiring that you couldn't do anything but go home and sleep?
♡ he sends a message, horrified at the idea, but realises how horrible of an idea it was to admit that he knew that you were working. but he can't delete it. it's really too late.
♡ he gives up. he knows he's destroyed any chance of getting to you online.
♡ he spends a day or two in a complete, shallow depression. it's like a withdrawal, and he's shaking, unable to sleep, staying up staring at his ceiling at his fuckup.
♡ he could always see you. where you work is only a block or two away.
♡ but that would be a step too far, wouldn't it? right?
♡ then he'd be no better than any other sleezeball.
but another day passes, and he can't take it anymore.
♡ he snaps, deciding to finally take that detour he's wanted since the day he found out where you worked. it's just around the corner from his gym, and he can't decide if he wants to work out first or visit you.
♡ but the urge is too much, and he sees you first.
♡ and...oh.
♡ you're everything, and more.
♡ seeing you in real life is almost too much. he stands outside of the door for what feels like hours, watching you just past the corner of your eye and praying that you didn't notice him yet.
♡ you don't, because you're dedicated and hardworking and smiling and laughing with your coworker about something, and it's like bells pealing and the heavens opening with the songs of angels. if the end times were coming, he hoped Gabriel's horn was your laugh.
♡ it takes him what was, realistically, about thirty minutes to even get the courage to go inside. after researching the bakery, he found that workers were given a commission in addition to normal pay, so that meant that he had to eat the most expensive things on the menu.
♡ truthfully, he didn't have much of a sweet tooth. he liked to keep fit, and sweets always managed to mess up his stomach.
♡ but the most expensive thing was a piece of cheesecake, and when he asked about it, you lit up and it was all worth it.
♡ the cheesecake was fine, but with your touch on the plate, he wanted to lick up every crumb.
he was addicted.
♡ he began coming in almost every day. just looking at you made his day brighter, with your smile like a sun. he dropped money at every moment, trying to talk with you every second.
♡ he could tell the moment you wanted him gone, the moment he overstayed his welcome, but he'd just come back the next day.
♡ there were several times he'd caught your eye, and he could feel you scanning him up and down.
♡ it felt almost lecherous, but he held those gazes so tightly in his mind's eye. god. you thought he was hot. maybe handsome? or cute? every possibility felt so intimate and made him so...warm, for lack of a polite word.
♡ now that he had confirmation that you thought he was cute, every inhibition was over. the proverbial pandora's box was unlocked, and that meant Leon needed to brush up in his sneaking.
♡ after all...there was nothing more 'you' than inside your home ♡

Law and Order SVU au?
In the criminal justice system, cultish and supernatural-based crimes are considered especially heinous. In Gravity Falls, the dedicated mystery solvers who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Mystery Kids Unit. These are their stories.
Dun, dun!
WEDNESDAY- FOREST OF DOOM
Lili: Alright, get her to the lab before the kids see! Let’s go!
*Two medics bag up a bloodied corpse and load her into an ambulance*
Raz: What’s this? Four, five?
Lili: Victim number four, and we found an ID this time. Her name’s Priscilla Northwest, age 35. Just had her birthday last week. Same MO as the last three, a yellow triangle drawn on her right eye, and a prosthetic finger sewn onto both hands.
Raz: Thinking it’s a cult?
Lili: If it is, this is probably the sickest one yet…
WEDNESDAY- GRAVITY FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT LAB
Wybie: *Examining Priscilla’s corpse* Well, I found dirt and traces of blood and skin under her nails. Nicely done by the way. She was a fighter, really tore through the bastard’s skin before she blacked out.
Lili: Chloroform like the others?
Wybie: There are some traces, but it looks like she resisted its effects. *Points to Priscilla’s neck* See the red marks? Your cult probably choked her with a rope to give her that final push when their usual method didn’t work.
Raz: Anything else?
Wybie: Other than an alarming amount of Botox, *chuckles* nothing else. But I’ll run the blood through the database, see what comes up.
Raz: What about the prosthetics? Anything on that yet?
Wybie: Same as last time, no. These people wore gloves, they were careful.
Lili: Not enough if Priscilla got their blood.
THURSDAY- CRIME SCENE
Coraline: Okay, they jumped Priscilla while she was walking. My guess it was a late night jog judging by the yoga tights and shoes she was wearing. They try to use the chloroform, but she fights back.
Lili: And that’s where the rope comes in?
Coraline: Yeah, I’m guessing another one surprise attacks, choked her until she passed out, and did their six finger-triangle eye ritual.
Norman: *Behind the bushes* Guys! Looks like we missed something! *Holds up a sheet of paper with a yellow triangle with one eye printed on*

It's midnight but I needed to know about the sunfish. I learned that some sunfish are more susceptible to death by chloroform than others, and that chloroform has 20.4x the toxic effect of ether in sunfish (as opposed to 3x in humans). Research was done on using sunfish like canaries to determine pollution levels. Apparently sunfish are/were used for a lot of environmental research. Do you have the title/author's name of the meth article? I have access to some databases so maybe I can get it.
It was uh “Effects of Amphetamine Sulfate on Activity Level of Green Sunfish” by David K. Damkot. It was published in The Psychological Record I think?

Cat Shadows

CATWOMAN #0 OCTOBER 1994 BY DOUG MOENCH, JIM BALENT, BOB SMITH AND BUZZ SETZER
SYNOPSIS (FROM DC DATABASE)
As Catwoman slinks upon a Gotham City rooftop, she is reminded of herself as a young child practising acrobatics, while her father Brian drinks himself away due to depression following the suicide of his wife. At Selina's school, her guidance counsellor tells Brian about her inability to interact with teachers and other students as well as her only aptitude being gymnastics. This information falls upon deaf ears as Brian's depression is too much. Soon her father drinks himself to death. She calls 9-1-1 and flees the scene, but not before releasing her pet cats into the city. She roams the streets but is caught within a week.

Selina ends up in Seagate, a reform school for runaway girls. The director of the facility is a hard-case who runs the place like a fascist state. In the weeks that follow, Selina deliberately defies the director and her brutish faculty. Even at this place, Selina has no interaction with the other girls. Overhearing a security system installer tell the director the security code while she lurks in the school's shadows, Selina uses it to her advantage to escape onto the rooftop at night.
Selina's defiance gets to the director, who subjects her to the punishment of cleaning the facility. Her refusal enrages the director more, who in turn belts her and has her locked away in solitary confinement with no food. Selina can still easily escape to the rooftop and eventually the kitchen. She then tries the director's office to retrieve the key to her room when she overhears the director talking on the phone about fake inspection reports. A ledger in the director's office that Selina steals shows that for years the director has been embezzling funds. When the director checks on Selina one night, Selina calls her out on the crime. Enraged the director leaves, but returns later when Selina is asleep and chloroforms her, places her in a bag, and throws her off a cliff into the sea. Selina is able to escape and returns to the facility, ledger in hand. With the ledger as insurance, she blackmails the director to take her name off the record books in exchange for her silence. After tying up the director with her own belt, she lets out all the other girls, but still has nothing to do with any of them.

Selina hits the streets once again and is greeted from time to time by various cats. She starts to fence goods to survive, gradually getting better and better at the game. One day a story about the mysterious Batman, as well as seeing him in action, encourages her to create her own costume and persona, Catwoman. For a while she stole from criminals only, under the guise of a dominatrix, but soon she took whatever she wanted from whoever she wanted. From time to time though, her actions cross Batman's path, but it doesn't stop her.

Present day, Catwoman is stalking out a socialite whose will leaves her possessions to her cat, including a diamond studded necklace around its neck. Not only does Catwoman take the goods, but gives the cat a new home also.
REVIEW
Catwoman is an acquired taste. As a kid growing up she always seemed to be loosely connected to the other bat-books (this was mostly true, the bat-books would affect her stories but not the other way around). So sometimes I forget what is canon and what is not with her.
What’s explored in this issue may have been touched on before on her own miniseries, annuals, specials and even the first issues of this ongoing, but as far as I know, this is the first time I learn about her family and her stay in Seagate. All of it fits the puzzle very well.
Selina becoming such a cat burglar doesn’t fit Batman: Year One, though. Was she ever a prostitute? To these days this is hard to figure out. In this story it would seem that at some point she did kinky stuff for money, but it also says that she preyed on criminals. So it is hard to tell what she did exactly. I will have to re-read the 1995 Year One annual.
For new readers (post zero-hour), it is a good issue to get to know the character. There is one element that seems absent though, and it’s her animal activism and her need to protect victims.
Balent is usually great on covers, but some human figures in these pages are hard to figure out.
I give this issue a score of 8

Chisaki’s fem!S/O being kidnapped
Someone please stop me from writing for the villains. I think I have an obsession or something-
Okay so, first of all, he most likely had an arranged marriage with his S/O as a way to make a contract with her father who was an amazing underground Quirk researcher, so of course, Chisaki wanted to make sure the man only helps HIM and nobody else, so what better way?
The girl, he later found out, was much of a genius in many ways, like hacking, seducing, information gathering, science and so on, which she self-taught, having been locked up in her house for so long by her father who only ever wanted to use her as a deal-breaker.
It all started when she saw Mimic, the first person she got along with really well from the very beginning, struggling while trying to hack into an important database, so she offered her help and easily hacked into the program and explained everything in detail so her could understand the more abstract ways of coding, and since then, Chisaki let those two go out of the hideout together so the girl could see and enjoy the freedom that she deserves but never got the chance to have.
It took a long time for the both of them to become truly attached to one another, but it was the cute, subtle ways in which they showed their love that was truly attractive. It was the caring looks they gave each other, the protective hand-holding and the warm hugs they shared that made a strong bond between their once cold as ice, frozen hearts that knew nothing of the warm feeling of love.
On one lovely day of Spring she went out to the Starbucks in the town center with her childhood friend, a girl with whom she hasn’t been in contact with for a long time, but they got along really well back in the days and decided to catch up and gossip all day long.
As she was drinking her beverage, she spilled a bit of cake on herself, so laughing, she excused herself from the table and went to the bathroom to clean herself up. There, she looked at her phone to check for any missed calls or messages, which she saw were flooding, from both Chisaki and Mimic. Curious, she called Mimic back since he seemed the most frantic to get a hold of her, for some reason.
Y/N: Yes, Raffa? Mimic: GOODNESS GRACIOUS, WOMAN, WHY DO YOU HAVE A PHONE IF YOU DON’T USE IT?! Y/N: Uhh Sorry, it was on silent mode. I forgot to change that this morning. Mimic: Arrghhh nevermind!! Are you okay?! Y/N: Yes, of course, why wouldn’t I be? Mimic: There’s a killer on the loose, dammit!! Y/N: Like...You and Chisaki? Mimic: I’M NOT JOKING, Y/N-
But he was cut off by Chisaki calling and the girl accepted the call, making that a group-call.
Chisaki: Where are you? Y/N: The local Starbucks. Wait, I’ll share my location with you- Chisaki: Keep the GPS on at all costs and make sure to hide your phone and have it at you at all times. Y/N: Yes, okay, but guys, can you tell me what’s going on?! Mimic: There’s this serial killer chick that is targeting some super boss yakuza leaders and one of them is- Chisaki: Me. Y/N: And what does it have to do with me? Mimic: We...We think that she knows of your connection to us and especially Chisaki. Y/N: How could she? We’ve never been out in the public or anything of the sort. Besides, I’ve always been extra careful when posting stuff on my social media. Mimic: I know, I was there to check them with you, but we don’t know why or how, but she might be targeting you. Y/N: Do you have a picture with her or something so I can be on the lookout? Or please make it fast, my friend might suspect something. Chisaki: Friend...? You are not alone? Y/N: Goodness, no, it’d have been boring to go out alone. An old friend contacted me again and asked to meet up. Mimic: Uh...Does this picture look famili- Y/N: *gasps* Th-That’s...That’s...M-My... Chisaki: That is your friend, isn’t she? Y/N: Y-Yeah...B-But...Do you know if she’s affiliated with anyone? Mimic: She might be affiliated with some underground people. Y/N: Only my father knew of our arrangements...My father...My father wants me dead. Just great! Freaking fantastic! Chisaki: Keep calm, Y/N. If she finds out that you know about her plan, she’s going to proceed with her plan much faster. Y/N: Yeah...Just great. Now I’m scared to think that she might have poisoned my drink. Chisaki: She wouldn’t. She needs you alive if she wants to blackmail me and use you as a bait. Y/N: That’s far more reassuring. Chisaki: Can you jump out of the window? Y/N: No...It’s much too tiny. Chisaki: Then go back to her and act as if nothing happened. We are on our way there. Y/N: Yeah, sure, no problem. Totally not freaking out. Mimic: Y/N you taught me how to be a better gangster and refine my skills, okay? You are far better than me at this, so use your skills of deceiving people and act as natural as possible so she won’t pick up on anything. Y/N: *sighs* Okay, fine. The GPS is on. I’ll hide my phone and keep this group convo on going so you can hear what we’re saying, but I’ll be putting it on mute so no sounds from your end will be heard around here and make it suspicious, okay? I’ll tell her I let my phone at home to charge. Chisaki: That’s my smart girl. Stay strong, we’re going to be there soon. Y/N: *nods* Roger that.
Sighing and running a hand through her hair, she closed her phone’s screen and hid it in her bra, thanking whatever possessed her to wear a nice and large sweater so the phone won’t be visible no matter what.
She put on her vixen face and acted as natural as she could and went to ramble about how annoying it is to get the stains off such a nice cardigan, but what surprised her was when her friend asked her if she could use her phone to call someone. She blinked in confusion and smiled at her apologetically, saying how she forgot to charge it the previous night and that she left without it, letting it plugged for the day.
What was a bit shocking, however, was how her friend’s face twisted in rage for a split second before she gripped the girl’s wrist weirdly tight and forcefully dragged her out of Starbucks, saying how they need to leave for the day. The girl only gulped and tried to struggle, saying how she doesn’t understand her friend’s unexpected behaviour, but the friend only got angrier and slapped her friend before putting a chloroform napkin on her face, making her faint since she couldn’t hold her breath for too long.
Of course, by the time she woke up she was in a dark cell, only a lamp above her lighting up the sombre place. She got up quickly and rushed to the bar door, trying to see if it was locked or if she could somehow unlock it with a hair pin... No chance.
Chisaki, Mimic and Chrono found themselves in front of the enemy hideout and strode inside nonchalantly, pissed off beyond belief, as Chisaki looked as stoic as ever, only unleashing his rage by using his Quirk on everyone who dared stay in his path.
As he got in front of the cage, he easily destroyed the bars, only to see his semi-conscious S/O, several cuts on her face, who knows how many other bruises on her body, being held by her hair, on her knees, by the person she once called a friend, a knife at her throat.
“Now, now, look who decided to show up! How did you find us, young Yakuza leader~?” asked the enemy with a sly grin on her face. “Her phone GPS, of course.” Chrono replied in a low, threatening voice as if it was as clear as the day light. “Phone...? What phone?! She has no phone at her! I checked her bag and pockets!” she yelled, enraged. “My bra, you idiot...Why do you think I kept...Crossing my arms to my chest...? If you somehow hit the phone with you...Stupid boots then it was bye-bye for me...” the victim tried so say in a weak voice, occasionally stopping to cough some blood. “You...! YOU LITTLE BITCH! YOU LIED TO ME!!” the kidnapper shouted at her, putting a hand on her throat and squeezing it, making the poor girl gasp for air. “S-So did...You...” she managed to choke out. “It’s over now. Give up and return her to me.” Chisaki said, his eyes holding a burning fire, barely able to keep himself composed. “You think I got through all this trouble to just peacefully return her? How stupid can you be?! I think I’d like to have a little more fun with dear Y/N here-” she said, but was quickly interrupted when she tried to move but realised her movements were extremely lethargic and it confused her to no end.
At the same time, her knife suddenly jumped out of her grasp and went next to Chisaki, making it obvious that Chrono’s and Mimic’s jobs were done there. “Wh-What did you do to me?! Freaks!” the enemy asked, her hand still around the girl’s throat, but no longer posing as a danger. “As I said, it’s over. You were so busy letting anger take over you that you lost focus of your surroundings. Chrono touched you with his hair and Mimic’s mind went inside the knife. Now...It’s my turn.” with that, he went to the two girls and grabbed a fistful of the enemy’s hair, dragging her away from her beloved and kicked her in the face with his combat book as hard as he could, slamming her in the wall in the process.
“Chrono, Mimic, bring this unclean filth to the base. If I use my Quirk on her it’d be meaningless. Also...Arrange a meeting with Y/N’s father. I think a discussion between a husband and his father-in-law would be very important now.” “It shall be done” said Chrono, as he dragged the unconscious one away.
Chisaki grabbed a napkin from his pocket and kneeled in front of his wife, one hand on her face and the other trying to wipe away the dirt and blood from it, tenderly.
“Thanks for saving me, Chisaki. I’d be dead without you.” she whispered, a small smile on her face. “You got involved because of me. It shouldn’t have happened.” he said, closing his eyes. “Sorry for the trouble. I’ll try to be more careful.” she said, leaning in his touch. “I’ll make sure that never happens again. Let’s go home for now.” with that, he picked her up bridal style, making her smile softly and snuggling to him all the way back to their own hideout, where he made sure to make her as comfortable as possible as she healed herself, thanks to her amazing Healing-Water Quirk.
When night came and the girl was in her nightgown, messing around on social media on her phone, Chisaki went in their room, putting his mask carefully on the table and changing in his sleeping wear before getting in bed next to her, thing that never happened before since he was always too busy and preferred to stay alone with his work.
He said nothing as he watched her looking at him, surprised to see him there and putting her phone on the nightstand.
“Chisaki? Are you okay?” she asked, worry dripping from her sweet, angelic voice. “You seem to have completely healed. Your Quirk is something useful in this world.” he muttered, examining every inch of her body to see if he could spot any little bruise. “It is,I suppose. But if I were in your place, I wouldn’t have been able to save you.” she said with a half-grin. “Come here.” he mumbled, his eyes boring deep into her soul.
She complied, scuttering over to him, but to her surprise, he got her into a very tight embrace, stroking her hair, his heartbeat visibly calming down. She then realised that he was worried sick and this was his way of being 100% certain that what was happening was real and that she was really safe and sound, in his arms, a pulse still beating. She could only grin and cuddle to him, putting the blanket over them and kissing him lightly on the lips, saying soothing, reassuring words to him.
For the first time since they got married they slept in the same room, together, two heartbeats forming into one as he continued stroking her hair, not being able to sleep that night in fear that something might happen and she will be snatched away from his grasp once again.
He won’t ever let that happen again. His angel will never ever be stolen away from him. He made a mistake that almost endangered her, but no more. He knew what was to be done and made sure either Chrono or Mimic were with her at all times when she was to go out of the hideout, no matter what.
He will protect his beloved wife, Y/N, at all costs. Y/N is his.
Forever.

Monochloroacetic Acid Prices Trend, Pricing, Database, Index, News, Chart

Monochloroacetic Acid (MCAA) prices is a crucial chemical compound extensively used in the production of various industrial and consumer goods. Its importance in the chemical industry stems from its role as a versatile intermediate, making it a pivotal ingredient in the manufacture of agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products. Given its wide range of applications, the pricing of monochloroacetic acid is subject to multiple influencing factors, which makes its market analysis complex yet essential for stakeholders.
The price of monochloroacetic acid is influenced by several key factors, including raw material costs, production processes, demand and supply dynamics, and geopolitical events. The primary raw material for MCAA is chloroform, and fluctuations in chloroform prices can significantly impact MCAA costs. These fluctuations often result from changes in the prices of chlorine and acetic acid, which are themselves subject to market conditions and availability. Production processes also play a critical role, with advancements in technology and improvements in efficiency potentially lowering production costs and, consequently, the market price of MCAA.
Supply and demand dynamics are another crucial aspect affecting monochloroacetic acid prices. The demand for MCAA is driven by its applications across various industries. For instance, in the agrochemical sector, it is used in the synthesis of herbicides like glyphosate. The pharmaceutical industry relies on MCAA for the production of drugs such as ibuprofen. Additionally, the personal care industry uses it in the manufacturing of surfactants and thickening agents. Fluctuations in these industries directly influence the demand for MCAA, thereby impacting its price. For example, an increase in demand for agrochemicals due to a booming agricultural sector can lead to higher prices for monochloroacetic acid.

Geopolitical events and regulatory policies can also have significant effects on MCAA prices. Trade policies, tariffs, and international relations can alter the cost and availability of raw materials, as well as the overall production and distribution of MCAA. For instance, trade tensions between major chemical-producing countries can lead to supply chain disruptions, thereby affecting the prices. Environmental regulations aimed at reducing pollution and promoting sustainable practices can also influence the production processes and costs associated with monochloroacetic acid.
The global supply chain intricacies further complicate the pricing landscape of monochloroacetic acid. The production of MCAA is concentrated in certain regions, with major producers located in countries like China, India, and the United States. Any disruptions in these regions, whether due to natural disasters, political unrest, or economic instability, can lead to significant price fluctuations. Additionally, logistical challenges such as transportation costs and shipping delays can affect the final market price of MCAA. As a result, companies involved in the production and distribution of MCAA must constantly monitor these factors to make informed decisions and maintain competitive pricing.
Technological advancements and innovations in production processes also play a vital role in determining the cost structure of monochloroacetic acid. Improved production techniques that enhance yield and reduce waste can lower overall production costs, allowing manufacturers to offer more competitive prices. For instance, the development of more efficient catalysts and greener production methods can lead to significant cost savings. Companies that invest in research and development to optimize their production processes can gain a competitive edge in the market by offering high-quality MCAA at lower prices.
Market competition is another critical factor that influences monochloroacetic acid prices. The presence of numerous manufacturers and suppliers fosters a competitive environment where pricing strategies can vary significantly. Companies may adopt different approaches, such as cost leadership, differentiation, or focus strategies, to gain market share. Competitive pricing, coupled with high-quality products and reliable supply chains, can attract more customers and drive market growth. Conversely, monopolistic or oligopolistic conditions in the market can lead to price rigidity, where a few dominant players control pricing dynamics.
In conclusion, the pricing of monochloroacetic acid is a complex interplay of various factors including raw material costs, production efficiencies, supply and demand dynamics, geopolitical events, technological advancements, and market competition. Understanding these factors is crucial for stakeholders in the MCAA market to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by this essential chemical compound. As the global economy continues to evolve, staying informed about these influencing factors will be key to maintaining a competitive edge in the monochloroacetic acid market.
