Okay so I have not watched Gossip Girl (so this may be a difficult take for people who have watched it to invision - cause I know there kinda couple/friends/frenemies??
But Colton and Viviannne give me Blair and Dan vibes
Granted I only see clips of them but I when I first started reading I Am Made of Death, I don’t know why but I was like these two would make a great duo.
So yeah if you can imagine Blair and Dan as secret half siblings just take their energy and give it to Colton and Vivianne and that’s why there my new favorite duo.
Kelly I’m gonna need you to write another book so I can see more scenes of them

“For a few minutes, the only sound was the quiet tangle of their breathing. Along the base of the windshield, a streak of lamplit condensation began to bloom. She looked starlit in the dark, her eyes glazed gold, and he wondered how badly it would hurt if he leaned in and kissed her”.

Hii I really loved your poly!141 x administrator!reader series!! Could you please write part 3 as well?!! Thank you🥰

No One Touches Her
Pairing: Poly 141 x Administrator!Reader
Warnings: Angst, hurt/comfort, protective behavior, implied threats, verbal harassment (not from the boys), swearing, team dynamics, emotional vulnerability, reader is overwhelmed
Author's Note: You asked for another part, here you are!! Hope you enjoy!
Summary: Someone in command crosses a line with you during a mission briefing, and your boys don't just stand by.
Masterlist
MDNI18+MDNI18+MDNI18+MDNI18+MDNI18+
The air in the logistics hallway was dry and over-warm, the fluorescent lights above buzzing with a soft, irritating hum. You clutched a folder against your chest—inventory reports from the last drop—and gave a tight-lipped smile as you stepped into the office.
Major Colton didn’t even look up from his screen.
You cleared your throat, professional and calm. “Sir, I’ve got the latest requisition breakdown. 141’s field kit resupply numbers are ready.”
He didn’t respond for a moment. Then a slow, derisive chuckle escaped his throat.
“You’re always so damn eager, aren’t you?”
You frowned, keeping your tone neutral. “Just doing my job, sir.”
“You’ve been doing a lot more than that, from what I’ve heard.”
His voice was lazy, but it carried an edge that set your skin on fire. You stiffened, heart beginning to thud unevenly. “I don’t follow.”
Colton finally looked up, his gaze sliding over you like grease. “Don’t play coy. You think people don’t notice the way you cozy up to Price and his little merry band of killers?”
Your jaw locked.
“Must be nice, being the only girl in a building full of desperate men. You picked well—big names, high ranks.” He leaned back in his chair with a smug grin. “Bet you’ve got a rotation going, huh? That’s how you keep getting special treatment.”
A low, vibrating pressure formed in your chest. Rage. Humiliation. Disbelief.
“You are out of line, sir.”
Colton raised a brow. “What? Can’t take a compliment? Or are you just upset I figured you out?”
You couldn’t even see straight. You turned, boots stiff against the tile as you walked out, fists clenched tight by your sides.
The door clicked shut behind you, and your breath hitched. You leaned against the cold wall, trying to stop the burn behind your eyes. One tear slipped free.
You quickly wiped it away.
What you didn’t see—what you couldn’t have seen—was Johnny standing at the end of the corridor, eyes wide, frozen in place.
He’d been there long enough to hear it all.
—
“Where the fuck is he?” Johnny slammed the mess hall door open an hour later, storming into your shared space with the rest of the team.
Simon looked up from his place by the window. “Who?”
“Major Colton,” Johnny growled. “Said somethin’ to her. Something disgusting. I heard the tail end of it—she looked wrecked.”
John stood slowly from his chair, eyes narrowing. “What did he say?”
“Didn’t catch all of it. But I heard him imply she was sleeping with us for favors.”
Kyle dropped his fork. “He what?”
Simon was already reaching for his balaclava, his voice low and lethal. “Tell me where he is.”
—
You were still at your desk, head bowed over meaningless reports, trying to pretend your eyes weren’t red and puffy when the door swung open.
John, Simon, Johnny, and Kyle entered like a wall of shadow and fire.
You stood so fast your chair scraped loudly against the floor. “What—?”
“You alright, love?” John asked, soft but serious.
“I’m fine. I’m fine,” you rushed, blinking hard. “You don’t need to—”
“We do,” Simon interrupted. “You’re not fine.”
Your lip trembled, and Johnny was already by your side, arms wrapping around your shoulders.
“Soap said he heard Colton,” John said quietly. “You didn’t deserve that.”
“I can handle it,” you whispered, but your voice cracked. “It’s fine, I—”
“No, it’s not,” Kyle said, stepping closer. “He crossed a line. And we’re not letting him get away with it.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but Simon touched your wrist, grounding you. “We’re not just your team. We’re yours. That makes you ours.”
You froze.
John leaned in, hand brushing the back of your neck. “Stay here, sweetheart. We’ll be back.”
You watched them go—uniforms sharp, shoulders squared, righteous fury barely contained.
And despite the nerves curling in your stomach… part of you felt warm. Safe.
—
Colton’s office door slammed open hard enough to rattle the glass.
John entered first, the perfect image of a furious Captain. “Major Colton.”
Colton looked up with a sneer. “Captain Price. What can I do for—”
Simon stepped in after him, towering and silent. Kyle and Johnny followed. The room suddenly felt about ten degrees colder.
“You spoke to our administrator earlier today,” John said, voice calm and cold as steel. “I’d like to hear exactly what you said.”
Colton blinked. “Is this about that little misunderstanding?”
“Try again,” Kyle snapped.
“Don’t know what she told you, but she’s sensitive. I made a joke, that’s all.”
“Insinuating she’s using sex to gain favor isn’t a joke,” Simon said. “It’s harassment.”
“And you’re damn lucky she didn’t report it,” Johnny added, arms crossed.
Colton’s smugness faltered.
John took a step closer, voice dangerously low. “That woman is the backbone of this base. She handles more intel, logistics, and personnel coordination than half the brass upstairs.”
“I didn’t mean any harm—”
“You humiliated her,” John cut in. “You disrespected her. And by extension, you disrespected this team.”
Colton went pale.
“If you ever speak to her again,” Simon said, “you won’t have a desk left to sit behind.”
“And if you breathe her name with anything less than respect,” John added, “I will file formal charges.”
The silence was deafening.
“Dismissed, Major,” John said, turning on his heel.
—
They returned just after sunset.
You were curled up on the couch in your office, a soft blanket around your shoulders, sipping cold coffee. When the door opened, all four walked in—calm, content.
John set down a warm bag of takeout. “Figured you could use some comfort food.”
You blinked at him. “You didn’t have to…”
“We wanted to,” Kyle said, sitting beside you.
Johnny plopped down on the other side, sandwiching you between them. “Told ya we’d handle it.”
Simon leaned against your desk, arms crossed, eyes watching you carefully. “You alright now?”
You nodded slowly. “Better. Because you were here.”
John smiled gently. “Always.”
—
You ate together in comfortable silence. No lectures. No pressure. Just warmth and safety and unspoken promise.
You weren’t just the admin. You were theirs.
And no one would ever forget that again.

Hope you enjoyed! Please consider liking and reposting! -Midnight💜

Twins -W2S

words: 0.8k+
warnings: none.
summary: you and Harry take your twin babies to see a few of the other sidemen while they film a side cast.
notes: hello lovelies!! i haven’t done a dad!bog fic in a while so this was a nice wholesome one to write💞. i hope you’re all well and you enjoy!!!🤗✨ (request)
Me and Harry have been together since we were young. We got married and just over two years ago we began trying for a baby, little did we know we'd get two for the price of one.
Having twins was not something you plan but we were so excited and felt extremely lucky. We ended up with a baby boy and girl which we were both very pleased about. A mini me and a mini him.
Today we're taking them to see the boys while they film a side cast. They've been nagging Harry over when they were going to see me and the babies again so we thought it'd be a cute surprise.
"Good morning beautiful," my husband whispered just as my eyes fluttered open. I smiled groggily. "Morning, are the twins awake yet?" I asked. "Nope, surprisingly still sound asleep," he replied as he ran his fingers through my hair.
After just twenty minutes of peaceful bliss, the familiar sound of babbling could be heard from our monitor. "I'll get 'em, you get ready," Harry said quickly, before I could get out of bed. "Thank you," I muttered gratefully.
I got myself dressed, did my hair and even had time to apply a little bit of makeup, which was a rare occurrence nowadays.
I then helped Harry by feeding the twins so he could also get dressed. After a tiny struggle to get them both in their car seats we managed to leave the house just a few minutes late.
"They have no idea that the podcast is about to get a lot less boring," I stated as we drove. Harry's hand slipped into mine as he chuckled and the babies giggled in the backseats, completely unaware that they were about to see some of their favourite people.
When we parked, the both of us got out and took a baby each. I unclipped our daughter, Wren's carrier while Harry got our son, Colton.
"Hi boys," I greeted as I walked into the studio. "Hey- wait. y/n?!" Tobi took a double take. I smiled. "I thought it'd be fun if me and the twin's payed you a visit," I replied.
"You brought both of them! Yey!" JJ cheered as he jumped from his seat. "Well, I think it's a bit unethical to leave on at home," Harry stated with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, yeah yeah, obviously," JJ scratched the back of his head before leaning down to get a better look at the two little cuties in the car seats.
Next, Josh walked into the room. "Hello Harry- oh! Hey!" He walked towards me quickly and we shared a friendly hug. "How've you been?" He asked politely. "I don't get this sort of treatment," Harry butted in. I breathed out a laugh before answering Josh, "I've been great, thank you."
The boys all sat down in their seats on the set and Harry tapped the place next to him. "Come join us, everyone loves when you're in vids," Tobi called cheerily.
Josh sat with Colton while Harry gently rocked a sound asleep Wren. They began the podcast and announced that I'd be joining for the first part of the video.
"So... y/n and Harry, you had a party for the twins first birthday last week," Josh began. "They had no fucking idea what was going on," Harry chuckled. "Oi! Don't swear," JJ whispered. "They're listening," he continued with a hushed voice, his hand pointing back and forth from each baby. I giggled at his seriousness.
"Are you ready to go babe?" I muttered in a high pitched voice as I clipped Colton into his seat. Both of the twins now ready for their nap. He gave me a gummy smile in return and I took that as a 'yes'.
"Catch up soon, yeah?" Tobi confirmed as as we shared a quick hug. "Of course. It was great to see you all," I replied with a warm smile.
Once both me and Harry returned home we put the babies down and then quietly tiptoed out of the dark room. "I never thought we'd get through the first few weeks of being parents, but I can't imagine life without them now," Harry whispered the sweet words as I shut the door.
"That was deep... I'm shocked, in a good way." I smiled longingly up at him then snaked my arms around his neck. He waited just a moment before leaning in. He began pressing soft kisses on my jaw and he continued down to the nape of my neck. "Harry..." I swallowed, my eyes fluttering closed.
He disconnected his lips for a moment before reattaching them to mine. "Mmm..." I moaned into the kiss before pulling away. "Bedroom. Now," I mumbled. He chuckled. "Of course my love," he said in a cheeky voice before we both ran across the hall.

Colton Price I will never ever forget you. The way he's written makes me insane. How he yearns. The way he worships her. The way he spent most of his life being drawn to her and when he finally has her near he is forbidden from befriending her. The way he said he didn't need her to leave a message because he would always find her. The way he gave a piece of himself away so that he could have her back. Oh man, I'm never ever ever getting over him.

Love you like my dog loves belly rubs (that’s a lot). Take care. 💖
After an early morning phone call, your mother insists on coming to town for lunch. You couldn't bear to tell her everything over the phone and frankly, you don't know how much you should tell her. You remember in high school when you were sent home after Kelly Harris dumped mud in your lap, your mother was more irritated to have you home than empathetic.
You watch through the peephole before you sneak out. You haven't slept but you can't be sure Colin hasn't returned. There's enough noise in the building that it's hard to discern who's coming or going.
When you do emerge, you flit quickly to the first floor and dip out, looking over your shoulder for either Colin or his vengeful girlfriend. You get through the lobby without trouble but you're not in the clear. Surely the day holds nothing but trouble, regardless of where it comes from.
You check the time as you wait for the cab. You refer to the text your mother sent before she set out and give the driver the name of the restaurant. You've never been there before and you're certain it's well out of your price range. Another debt for the tally.
This is the last thing you ever wanted. It makes all this drama seem all the more ridiculous. You’re a grown woman and this is what you’ve come to. Back to square one.
You approach the restaurant doors and enter with a sheepish grin. You don’t know that you own anything that wouldn’t be underdressed for this bougie brunch locale. Once more, you look at your phone. Crap, she’s there first. That means you're late even if you agreed on nine.
The hostess shows you to the table where your mother waits. She has her compact out as she touches up her mauve lipstick. She doesn’t acknowledge you or the hostess as you sit. She snaps shut the mirror and sips from her stemmed glass of orange juice.
“About time,” she drawls, “oh, and nice to hear from you after all these months.”
Her eyes finally deign to land on you. You gulp. You should’ve taken the chance of talking to your father but ultimately you know it’s not up to him.
“You’ve been so busy with Geri’s wedding–”
“Don’t try to guilt me for your neglect,” she warns, “you should be happy for your sister. Her fiance is a charming man. You’ve met Colton, haven’t you?”
“Once or twice,” you grumble. Family get togethers weren’t exactly your favourite memories. “I’ve been waiting on my invite–”
“Invite? You’re a bridesmaid. Geri sent out that email months ago. Is this why you weren’t at the fitting?”
“I didn’t… I didn’t get an email.”
“You’re wrong. Certainly, you must be. You and the rest of the girls are bridesmaids. You have to be. And it might be good for you to be involved in a wedding at least once,” she tuts. You don’t miss the jibe. Yeah, not like you have much hope of walking down the aisle.
“I’ll… I’ll call Geri and clear things up,” you say, “how are the others?”
“Well, Maeve is graduating this year. Always exciting. She’s thinking of joining Audrey at her alma mater. And Livia is somewhere in Spain again.”
“Ah, yeah, she sent me some pictures,” you say.
“And you? What are you up to?” She challenges. She’s not genuinely curious.
“Well,” you take a breath, pausing as a server comes to ask what you’d like to drink. You get the same as your mother and peruse the menu.
“Well…” your mother prompts.
“Yeah, um, I…” you shake your head, you can’t even look at her, “I am on leave from work so… not much.”
“Leave? What does that mean?” She hisses.
You feel your eyes tinge. You look at her. Why is she so different to you? Your other sisters can spill all their worries and whims but you, it’s always judgment. You can never do anything right.
“Uh, I thought maybe it might be a good time to–”
“Ah, pardon,” you’re interrupted before you can sputter out the revelation of another failure. You cringe as you recognise Jonathan’s silky lilt. Why? How? Do you even dare questioning fate anymore? “I just, I had to say hello.”
You force a smile and look at him, trying not to falter in front of your mother’s all-seeing gaze. She sits up, and lets out a hum of surprise as she sees Johnathan. Her lashes give a telling flick.
“Hello?” She utters quizzically.
“This must be one of your sisters,” he says as he runs his hand up the sleek lapel of his blue jacket, “very pleased to finally meet you.”
“Sister? Oh, do not flatter me. I am her mother, Eugenia,” she introduces herself with a smug smirk, “and how do you know each other?”
“Uh, oh,” you stutter and send Jonathan a desperate look. Do you tell her you’re his disgraced former employee? Or maybe just business acquaintance. She’s going to know eventually, that’s why you’re here. “Jonathan is–”
“Jonathan Pine,” he introduces himself, “honoured to finally meet you.” He looks at you, arching a brow before turning his attention back to his mother, “you both must be so excited for your elder daughter’s upcoming nuptials?”
“British?” She intones with intrigue.
“You’ve caught me out,” he grins, “your daughter’s been rather helpful in getting me acquainted with this country. Very lovely…” he peeks at you again, “hardly as lovely as her. You’ve raised a rather endearing daughter.”
“You…” she blinks in confusion, sending you another flabbergasted peek, “you and my daughter…” she lets the suggestion hang. Jonathan does too as he gives you an option; come clean or take the bait.
“I was waiting to introduce you at the wedding,” you blurt out, “I… it’s new.” You say, each word jarring as the lies piece themselves together on your tongue, “and I thought,” you look at Jonathan pointedly, “he was out of town.”
“Business trip was canceled, rescheduled to a business breakfast,” he slithers, “I’m meeting Gerry soon,” he checks his watch, “but I will be sure to tell the hostess to put your bill with mine.”
“Oh–” you squeak.
“Oh my,” your mother trills, “you are too kind. That is…” she gapes at you openly, “you… you’re with my daughter. Her?”
He chuckles lightly, “why wouldn’t I be with such a beautiful woman?”
“I didn’t mean– I don’t– I’m very surprised,” she exclaims shrilly, “she never mentioned, but then again, she’s always been so private. So shy. And you seem like such a lovely man.”
“I like to think so, but please, she is not the lucky one,” he preens and steps towards you. He places his hand on your shoulder and bends, grazing his lips across your cheek, “go with it,” he whispers.
You turn your head just as his lips aim for yours. He kisses you and the air leaves the room. Your chest ties tight and your entire body tingles. Oh, wow. You’re too swept up in the sensation of his unexpected kiss that you can’t remember why you were so off-kilter a moment ago.
“Now let me not interrupt further. A mother-daughter reunion,” he puts his hand to his chest, “how sweet.”
He backs away and dips his chin. He turns on his heel and crosses the restaurant as you stare after him. The server approaches and sets your drink in front of you. You drink it in the silence of your mother’s disbelief.
“Well, you’ve done finely,” she says in a stunted cadence, “I… he’s so handsome. And tall. And blond!”
“Mom,” you plead as you nearly choke on the orange juice.
“Well. Even you must realise he’s very… dashing as they’d say in his home country,” she flutters her lashes dreamily, “oh, yes, you must bring him to the wedding. He’ll look wonderful in the photos.”
You wet your lips with your tongue and nod. You look down at the table, still buzzing as your lips warm up. You can’t stop thinking about that kiss. It nips away at the anger that kept you up all night, but hardly solves your anxiety.
You can’t tell your mother you expect to be evicted in the next month or that you lost your job. So what now? How do you untangle the knot that only grows bigger and bigger?
💗
For once, your time with your mom is less than torturous. She keeps her barbs dull enough to leave you only bruised. Her mood is a touch above neutral, which for you, is an accomplishment. You’re content but not entirely at ease. You have a lot to figure out.
You bid her goodbye just outside the patio seating and wave to her as she unlocks her luxury car. You watch until you see her get in and let out a sigh. Shit. Not only do you have Jonathan to worry about, but you don’t expect Colin to be AWOL much longer.
So what do you do? Go home and face the music or call Jonathan and try not to melt into a puddle of embarrassment. It was a nice favour of him to pretend but you don’t want to assume anything. High hopes and stupid girlish fantasies got you into all this.
As you walk along the curb, a short toot draws you to a stop. You turn as the whir of a car window steals your attention and you face the familiar car. Jonathan leans over the passenger seat to see you.
“You’re not going to run away again, are you?” He asks.
You twist your heel into the pavement and bend down. You furrow your brows as that big question needles between them. You can’t lie anymore, you can’t just wait for the truth to come out, you just have to ask.
“How did you know I was here?”
His brows lift and his eyes roll to the side. He gives a guilty grin, “I hope you don’t… misinterpret it but I… staked out your building.”
“What?” You puff out.
“Yes, I know, it sounds very bad. And I won’t claim it was entirely sane but I wanted to see the police take him away after I filed the report. To be sure you were safe and then… I sat stuck in my own head. Wanting to run up those stairs and knock on your door but also terrified you wouldn’t answer,” he shrugs, “and I followed you because I worried you might run into him, but that’s only half the reason…”
You swallow and step closer, “Jonathan, what are you doing?”
“Being crazy,” he lowers his eyes bashfully, “I know, you don’t need two madmen after you.”
You shake your head and reach for the handle. You open the door and get in. He sits back, watching you as you move your purse into your lap. You stare at the dashboard.
“What is going on?” You turn your head and look into his beautiful blue eyes, “what is this?”
“I don’t…” he begins.
“You’re my boss.”
“I was.”
“I never should’ve dragged you into this–”
“I’m so happy you did,” he murmurs.
“Jonathan, please,” you beg, “it’s not right–”
“You quit,” he insists, “so what isn’t right?”
You pout and sit back, turning straight and looking up at the upholstered ceiling of the car. You don’t know what to say. No, you don’t know how to say it. Except…
“I’m stupid.”
“What?” He scoffs.
“I’m stupid because… I’m scared and lost. And I can’t make you follow me through that.”
“What do you mean?”
“Feelings don’t just go, they just get complicated,” you explain, parsing through the stirring in your gut, “I hate Colin, I’m scared to hell of him, but I still… feel some of those things I felt.”
“Oh, but darling,” he reaches over and rests his hand above your shoulder, “I know feelings don’t just go. Mine certainly won’t.”
“Feelings? For me? Are you sure it’s not pity?”
“I only pity myself for how deeply I’ve fallen,” he breathes as you sense him leaning in, “the first day I saw you, I knew. I’ve never been much of a romantic but I have to confess something.”
“What?” You shy away, sensing how close he is.
“I knew how to use the coffee machine,” he admits, “I just needed an excuse.”
“You… did?” You look at him. He’s so much closer than you thought.
“Oh yes, if you hadn’t helped with the machine, I would’ve failed miserably in front of you at making copies. And if that didn’t work, well, I suppose I’d just have to make a mistake in my numbers,” he purrs, “you would’ve helped me, wouldn’t you?”
You quiver out a breath. You want to collapse into him, you want to let him make you forget everything but him, and yet, you’re so afraid. You’re afraid to believe that this could ever be real for you.
He doesn’t let your fear win. His lips are on yours again and that’s all you need. Nothing is left but that moment, the feeling of his mouth on yours, how his hand comes up to frame your jaw and cradle your cheek, his other creeping behind your head as he clings to you desperately. You can’t help by latching onto his collar, diving into his need.
You don’t stop until you're dizzy and breathless. He pulls back, hovering before you, thumb tracing your cheek bone as his other hand tickles your neck. His eyes search you, admire you, you’ve never been looked at like that.
“May I drive you home?” He asks softly, nuzzling your nose with his.

Yes, I bought a new camera, but it was not a last minute decision. Well, the camera purchase was pretty much last minute after I saw a video about the camera I chose and did some research on the Web & Youtube.
For about a year I've been wondering if I should sell my Sony a7r3 body and Sony/Zeiss Sonnar T* 55mm f/1.8 lens, which came highly recommended, including by Ken Rockwell, who I also turned to for advice about my new camera. The 55mm f/1.8 lens was highly recommended; it was one of the original set of lenses for the Sony a7 line of mirrorless cameras.
I wondered about getting rid of it because, while I enjoyed using it and got some great photos with it, my 24-105mm f/4 Sony G lens also took great photos, and it covered the 55 mm range. Granted, the 55mm produced super creamy bokeh, but the 24-105 f/4 did too, though maybe not as creamy. Maybe for me, as a vegan, the 24-105mm f/4 bokeh was (is) creamy enough?
Anyway, here is one of my favorites, taken with the 24-105mm f/4 about 6 months after I bought the a7r3. (I've owned an a7r3 for over 6 years now...)

Like butter?
Back to the new camera story. About a year ago, I saw this video about "one camera/one lens."
youtube
I also watched a video where he discussed keeping camera gear down to a useful minimum "5 Reasons to Keep Your Equipment Simple feat. Documentary Photography Daniel Milnor." His insights resonated with me because I am not a gear head. I like having one lens on each camera body and not having to fidget. I like to keep it simple.
Then, about 3 weeks ago, I watched this video.
youtube
Now, I go make photos in SF often. Every once in a while I also go to Oakland, which has, at least in the 30 years I've been in living in California, a super bad reputation. I've never felt unsafe in either city walking around with my a7r3 with the medium sized 24-105mm f/4 lens on it. Granted, I carry it in the original, small, Peak Design sling bag, which I immediately christened my Audrey Hepburn camera bag because it is so elegant, especially with the little brown leather handle on top.

BTW, I also own the Peak Design messenger bag, but I almost always use this one for my camera and use the messenger bag for when I need to carry my laptop. The 5L sling bag had a bonus: Both my a7r3s with their respective lenses attached fit in this one little bag. Tight, but they fit.
Anyway, that video about feeling safe did set me to thinking, since I am getting older and walk around alone, but it also made go back to wondering if I should carry both cameras, which I rarely do anymore.
Then Adrian Vila posted this video.
youtube
And then I found his original video, about 4 years old, about the RX100 vii.
youtube
the idea of carrying a smaller camera with a 24-200 zoom intrigued me, I did some research, including visiting Ken Rockwell's site, where he highly recommended this camera (see the review here).
I was convinced, but I knew that the camera is 5 years old (and Sony has no plans of releasing a newer model), so I looked up prices for used, and if I could find them, new cameras. I eventually just opted to get a new one and am going to sell my a7r3 with the 55mm f/1.8 lens. Interesting fact: The Sony RX100 line (7 models) all have a Zeiss Sonnar T* zoom lens. Mine has a 24-200mm f/2.8-4.5 variable lens, so I am still going to have a Zeiss lens, even after I sell my 55mm Zeiss.
Then there was the coincidence that they actually had an RX100 vii in stock at the Sacramento store. I visited the Mike's Camera Website, choosing specifically the Sacramento location (they have several locations in California and Colorado) and saw they had one for sale, so I drove last there Wednesday to buy the camera.
Funny thing is, I learned they don't usually carry the RX100 vii anymore (it is, after all, discontinued) but they happened to get a delivery of one just that day from their warehouse. (I could have ordered it and it would be delivered to the store or to my apartment.) The sales person (Colton) went to check if it was ordered by someone, but no, so the camera was mine.
I explained to Colton how when I went in to buy my first a7r3 on 12-26-17, they did have it, but I wanted the 24-105mm lens, which was just released (and in popular demand) and was told they only had one, which someone pre-ordered. However, the salesperson (Taek) checked and it turned out that person had not gone in to pick up the lens or contacted them about it, and it was sitting in the store for 6 weeks, so Taek opted to let me have it. As Colton said, I have good camera Karma.
So, yes, I am going to be using a smaller camera with a smaller sensor (1 inch) that has only 20 MP as opposed to my a7r3's 42 MP in a larger full frame sensor. However, while thinking the new camera purchase over, I thought about the awesome photos I got from my Nikon D50 with its dinky 28-80mm f/2.5-5.6 lens, and the RX100 is a huge step up.
Finally, here are 2 photos of my new camera.

OMG, my a7r3 is dusty...
Ok. That's all for now.
The adventure continues...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Little Over a Year...
Simon was holding your 3 months old baby, while you were sleeping peacefully in your shared bedroom. He heard the baby waking up from their sleep and decided to hold them and nurture them so they don't wake you. Both of you discussed that it would be best if you didn't work, instead you are a stay at home mom, at least until Simon felt comfortable and knew where he felt was safer for you. Moving you out into the country side, on an acre property. It was something you both always wanted. A place far from bustling streets and war. Just the serene peacefulness of nature around you along with a couple horses that you begged Simon to allow you to have since it was a dream of yours since little. He rocked your toddler in his arms in their nursery, it was cozy, you both kept the color neutral deciding on a subtle green because you both didn't know the gender, wanting it to be a a surprise. To both your surprises you had a healthy boy. You named him Colton Riley.
Despite Simon's original doubts and fears of having a child, especially a duplicate of himself. Seeing the little bundle after the birth and hearing him cry out was a whole other level of adoration. If you thought loving you was impressive his love for your son was far more. He would kill anyone that hurt your little boy, and he'd be damn to let anyone bully your son. Your son was safe for sure. No doubt. Simon patted the back of your toddler "Ease bugger, don't wanna wake you mum. She's been working hard looking out for you." He speaks low and gruffly. After his mission several months ago, he told Price he'd be focusing more on his family unless they truly needed him, and he meant that seriously. As promise Price hasn't needed Simon so far it was peaceful just being home at your side and your son. But he knew it wouldn't last. After his last mission of General Shepherd betrayal, the Shadow company and then finding out about Makarov. He knew that nothing was going to last, especially when Laswell gets her hands more on Makarov movements. As of now, he has been extra cautious and General Shepherd has gone off grid. The CIA has been scrambling to do coverups and also reinstate a new general in command. For now Laswell has been leading the reins which made things a little flexible. After 141, Los Vaqueros, and Ghost team, Simon enjoyed just being Simon with you and their son. He felt himself more, a deep part of him kept Ghost under lock and key until he was needed again. But having the little bundle in his arms really made him not dwell so much on those matters, as you would tell him to focus on right now before their son in a blink of an eye be all grown up. He chuckles patting the baby, adjusting him onto his shoulder as he stood walking around the room encouraging the toddler to fall asleep after feeding him.
You woke up seeing Simon in the nursery, as he was holding your 3 month over his broad shoulders. The toddler looked so tiny in his grasps as Colton had his head nestled into his black top. You speak softly "Already getting him ready for his nap I see" you smile softly. Simon turns to look at you give a soft gaze with his face mask on, showing his tustled dirty blonde cropped hair. He glances at your son's sleeping figure on his shoulder before speaking lowly "Buggers easy to knock out." You walk over rubbing your son's back, Simon's eyes watching you intently as you touch the baby rubbing around in circular motion. Looking up at his eyes seeing his soft brown eyes bore into you, you lean up pulling down his mask to kiss him. He obliges until the feeling of his phone ring. The two of you froze. It felt so soon. You give him a sympathetic look as Colton began squirming waking up from the ringtone. You gently pry your son off his father's shoulder looking at Simon "You should answer it..." Simon knew he should as he looked at you almost wanting to let it go through voicemail but he answered walking out of the nursery,
Price....
Saying in a low grumble, he was very mad, he for once was enjoying the peace of his family and it all came crashing down in a minute. Price continued on the other end-
Ghost. I know I made a promise to you and y/n that I would only reach out if it was the upmost importance-
Almost sounding like a beg, with a stern voice, he was clenching the phone as he spoke through gritted teeth-
Price-
Simon could hear Price take a deep breath, it almost seem like he was dreading having to even say this-
I need you back Ghost. This mission is crucial and I need the best.
Simon was leaning against the stair railing gripping it tightly as he says in his low British gruff voice
What are your orders Captain.
He knew Price could tell from his tone that Simon was not happy to hear from him. He felt he barely had time with their newborn and leave y/n alone while he's gone made him feel worse. The fear and anxiety from the moment he found out you were pregnant settling into his stomach. He could hear Price let out another sigh
Lieutenant Ghost, your orders are to meet at base to be debriefed by Laswell. A plane will pick you up tomorrow at exactly 09:00.
Those words and orders made Simon stiffen up. He knew this was serious as he gave a loud enough response.
Sir, yes sir.
There was a pause, Simon was clenching his teeth and the railing as Price spoke again-
And Simon....
The Captain leaving his formalities as Simon stayed silent on the line until Price spoke again.
Give Little Lamb and that kiddo my regards...
With that, Price hung up and Simon was standing in the living room staring down at the phone, felt like deja vu. The last time he got a call from Price to do a mission you were kidnapped. That day still haunts him, except now you two have a son, and he'd be leaving you with their newborn. The idea again leaving you, all alone, despite how safe you are and off the books. The pit of his stomach didn't make him feel better. He didn't know how long he was standing staring daggers at his phone until, you came behind him wrapping your arms around him touching him gently. It snapped him out of his trance reaching to touch your hand as you spoke into his back "I take Price called about a mission ?" Your voice so soft and angelic, he never wanted to hear the sound of you asking that question. He speaks lowly "Price's orders." You process this as you press a gentle kiss onto his back, feeling him almost tense from the touch, you could tell this angered him that he was being called away. So you walked around him to face him touching his arms running your hands over his tattoo sleeve arm "Simon...this is your home always will be but 141 is your family, they need you too." You gave him a gentle smile and squeezing his biceps gently "We'll be fine here. I promise." His eyes searched yours for the longest time as he sighs pressing his forehead onto yours scrunching his brows "You call me-" you giggle nuzzling your nose onto his giving off the best British accent you could muster "-when you need me and I'll drop everything in a fuckin blind eye" he raises a brow at you "I don't fuckin sound even close to that" you laugh softly "Kinda..." He wraps his arms around you pulling you closer "Not even Pigeon." But he was grinning under his mask and you knew this as he sighs "But yeah...I'll fuckin ditch everything to get back here" you smile softly "I know. I know" you two spent a couple minutes holding each other. You two spent even most of the day embracing in each others arms along with Colton until tomorrow came too quickly.
It was early in the morning. You were holding Colton on your hip as he gnawed his gummy teeth on your necklace chain it was something Simon got for you, it was a heart shape with his initials on it. Simon, had his duffle bag stuffed, now wearing his attire for this mission, in his big black coat, jeans, skeleton gloves, and full balaclava. He even put his black paint on, which really brought out the blonde in his lashes. Colton definitely got that from his dad. Colton had his lashes but your eye color, Simon's crooked nose, and dimple cheeks, with your skin complexion. Even with the balaclava on, Colton knew Simon Ghost was still his father as he reached for his masked face. Simon leaned in for his son to touch and inspect his balaclava.
You were doing your best not to cry as you watch the interaction. You knew deep down Simon would always come back yet, it was different now. Having your son and actually becoming closer since the ordeal has made you love him more and more. Him honestly opening up to you was a big help too, after you met Price, Soap, Gaz, & Laswell you knew he'd always be looked after. Not that he needed to be looked after, but you felt comforted to know he has people to watch his back when things got hard. Once again you didn't realize your tears coming down as you felt his padded glove wipe your cheek, gently tilting your head up. His eyes were soft looking at you, you didn't even realize he lifted his balaclava enough to reveal his lips, that had scars slitted at the corner of his mouth as he leans down kissing you gently, than looking at you. Once again it felt like what happened a year ago...
"Guess, you better get going or you'll miss your flight" you sniffle letting out a little laugh, you suck in a breath looking at Colton in your arms. Ghost's looks at his son giving a soft kiss on the head and rubbing his head mumbling softly "Be good for your mum" it took every bodily power not to break down as you look from your son to Ghost.
"I love you Simon Ghost Riley" you readjust Colton in your arms looking at him as he looked at you and his son in your arms
"Love you too y/n..." He knew better to leave a promise that he couldn't keep, he couldn't guarantee he'd be safe and live to see you again, but he did etch you holding their son in your arms giving a brave smile as he carried his bag leaving his comfortable home. Walking to his truck tossing his duffle bag in, he took one last look at the home seeing you walk out onto the porch watching him as you lift Colton's hand to wave bye, subconsciously waving back as he got in driving off. Your words ringing in his ear as he drove. "Simon...this is your home always will be but 141 is your family, they need you too." He huffs knowing you're right, but he wished he wasn't neck deep sometimes wish he was a simple man you could love and never worry about your life on the line or your son's or partner. Sometimes he wondered if you would be better off. But than, selfishly deep down, you kept him grounded, because with you and Colton- Home truly is always with me..he thought to himself as he made his way to the airport to do this unexpected mission.
