🎄💾🗓️ Day 13: Retrocomputing Advent Calendar -🎄Amiga 500 💾🗓️
The Amiga 500 is considered one of Commodore's most important home computers, introduced in 1987; it was important because of how advanced the features were for the time. It was based on a Motorola 68000 CPU running at 7.16 MHz in NTSC versions and at 7.09 MHz for PAL ones, with the main version of 512 KB RAM expandable up to 9 MB. Its OCS provided respectable graphics performance, going up to 736×567 interlaced, with 32 colors out of 4096. The sound system consisted of four 8-bit PCM channels and could give out stereo at as high as 28 kHz. With the keyboard integrated and a compact design, it was ready for home users, while the multitasking operating system, AmigaOS, differentiated it from the rest. At a price the market could afford and featuring multimedia capabilities, this combination contributed to its popularity as it went on to sell about 2.6 million units worldwide.

More on Urd/FFA's Typewriters
Oh, by the way, Urd is holding a different typewriter model. This is the Victor Index Typewriter, manufactured in 1889.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I never looked into in my previous post about these typewriters is that these are index typewriters.
As a better way to describe their function: Index Typewriters are where you manually select the letters using your index finger on a pointer, while your other hand is on a lever that's used to print down the letters.
What differs between the Victor and the Odell 2?
The Odell 2 Typewriter is a linear index typewriter with a type-rail element. The letters are arranged in a straight row along a rail for you to be able to type.
Tumblr media
The Victor Typewriter, meanwhile, is one that uses something called a daisy wheel. Used in electric typewriters and even early computer printers, the daisy wheel is a type element that places the letters along a wheel instead. With the pointer, you move it back and forth along the larger wheel to select the letters in the daisy wheel.
Tumblr media
A video demonstrating the Victor Typewriter can be found here.
It's likely that Urd began using the Victor Typewriter since it's more compact and lighter to carry compared to the Odell. It also kind of makes sense for her to use the index typewriter because she's blind and wouldn't be able to adjust as easily to the more obvious keyboard typewriters.

zero if you don't mind me asking what kinda computer do you have? i need to save up for a new one but idk anything abt computers and i am NOT going on tiktok for help, so i wanna ask you instead, i just need something that's good for gaming mostly 🥲
Tumblr media
this is the exact model i use that i got on sale from best buy august of this year. i also use this laptop for school and other personal stuff
in terms of specs it’s very good quality for the price and for the months of using it i don’t have any complaints. the keyboard is nice and so is the mouse pad but i have seperate attachments for both.
i wanted a laptop that was lightweight and compact - so i chose a fourteen inch screen. if you are planning on using it for solely/mostly games you might wanna go up to 15 or more. i think 18 is bulky but that’s preference
in terms of specs - i would say the minimum specs are 16gb processor, 512gb storage, and nvidia rtx 4050. this would be the minimum specs to run a more modern game
however if you’re saving and making an investment and want more quality of life — the first thing i would drop more on is the processor. 32gb is why i ended up spending more than i hd wanted too and it makes a significant difference. more storage is always nice for a similar reason.
for graphics it’s mostly preference. most gaming laptops won’t go below rtx 4050 and the difference in quality between 4050, 4060, and 4070 isn’t much imo. well between 4050 and 4060 yes but not 4060 and 4070
OH and for processors i reccomend the amd ryzen 9 because intel i7-19 processors (aka the most common / popular) have had significant manufacturing issues that are basically making them blow up. any amd ryzen 7 or over will work, but processors is another thing you would want to drop bread on since it makes a difference in quality of life again.
lmk if u have any questions!! but if you’re just looking for a general rec, the computer i got specifically is absolutely beautiful and i love her lol

Violent Delights | 01
Y/N volunteers in a mental hospital with the intention to help the patients and care for them. Everything seems to be normal, except for seven boys whom she was assigned to. She doesn't understand what mess she has gotten herself into, and when she does, it's too late to get out.
warnings : mental illnesses, mentions of eating disorders, mental asylum, pills/drugs.

chapter 1 of ? ——— previous -> next
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your ears filled with the cacophony of honking cars mixed with the sounds of people shouting. For the past ten minutes, you had been stuck in traffic, barely moving an inch. It felt as though the never ending flow of cars would never stop. You were practically leaning against the window, tapping your fingers on your thigh as irritation sank into every fibre in your body.
Frustrated, you sat up straight and beeped the horn another few times (even though you knew it wouldn't help.) A thought crossed your mind, and you realised the hospital wasn't too far from where you are right now. You frantically looked around for any available parking spaces, but everything was occupied, and everything that wasn't was practically impossible to get to.
Your hand itched towards your phone, gripping onto it and double tapping to check the time. 12:23PM, it read. Over twenty minutes late. If it continued to look like this, you wouldn't get to the hospital anytime soon.
The only thing left for you to do was to wait and pray that the traffic moved on.
Quickly hurrying out of the car, your shoes clacked against the concrete floors of the car park as you made your way over to the tall building. It loomed over you, seemingly stretching into the sky with no end.
A little further away from the entrance, you watched as another person rushed in through the doors. They seemed to be coming from the same traffic you came from. Unlike them, you didn't immediately run over to the doors, and instead took a minute to look at yourself in a compact mirror, checking if you looked presentable. After patting down a few flyaways, you let out a deep breathe and went back to speed walking towards the entrance.
The automatic glass doors opened as you stood before them, granting you entry and you stepped through them. The noise from the outside world was instantly replaced by the bustling sounds of the busy hospital. It was loud, the sounds of footsteps, inaudible conversations and medical equipment filling the air.
Your eyes darted from place to place before landing on the reception desk and you made your way over. The receptionist was engrossed in her computer, not sparing you a glance as you stood before her.
You hesitated for a moment before clearing your throat, but even that didn't seem to catch her attention, she continued clicking away on her keyboard as if you didn't even exist.
"Excuse me?" you mumbled, somewhat embarrassed as the receptionist glanced up towards you. "I'm here as a volunteer."
The receptionist straightened up, and you noticed the name tag attached to the right side of her uniform, Bora.
She looked at you up and down, her lip quirking up as she met your eyes. "You're over forty minutes late."
"I know, there was a lot of—"
"Traffic? Yes, I know. I also know of other volunteers who took the same route as you but managed to come on time, if not even earlier." Bora pushed herself back on her spinning chair, folding her arms and maintaining eye contact with you. Her intense gaze caused you to look down in shame, you hadn't realised forty minutes had passed.
"I—"
"Listen, I know you're not getting paid for this, but if you're just here to waste our time, the door's right there. The people here need help, we're not here to mess around." she pointed towards where you came from, and you couldn't help but glance for a second towards there. If she interrupted you one more time, maybe you would consider leaving.
"I apologise, I'm here to help. Trust me, Bora, it won't happen again." you finally managed to say without being interrupted.
"It better not. Do you know where you need to go?"
"I was told that someone would brief me here." you explained, noticing the annoyance in her tone.
"Well, since you're late, figure things out yourself. What's your name?"
"Y/N..." you muttered before the began typing away at the computer. When she finally stopped, she spun her chair round to the other side where the printer was sat, and you watched as she impatiently waited for a paper to be released.
She spun back towards you, handing you a sheet of paper with a bunch of writing on it. "You'll have to go to Dr. Hans room to get the stuff you need, it's down that corridor," she said, motioning with her fingers towards a hall, "His name is on his door so you'll know it when you see it."
"I would go over the case files with you, but since you're so late, that'll have to be done on another day." she finished, going back to typing away.
"So... all I do is give them their prescriptions?" you question, holding up the paper and scanning it with your eyes.
Bora grumbled at your question, and now it was clear that she did not like you. For what reason, you had no clue, but could only assume it was because of your tardiness. Still, you had a valid reason, right? She didn't have to give you such attitude.
"You'll give them their prescriptions, clean their rooms and assist them with whatever they need. If it's something medical, you'll have to call a doctor. Got it?"
"Yeah, thanks." you send her a smile that is unreciprocated and only returned with a scowl and a roll of her eyes.
Bora seemed like a friendly person, maybe being late just got you onto her bad side. So much for a good first impression.
Tumblr media
As she walked down the endless hallway, her eyes continued to read over the paper that was handed to her which consisted of seven names in bold black writing followed with their illness and what things they need. With furrowed eyebrows, you read over the names of their pills and confusion set into your mind at their foreign names. At least you didn't have to pick those out.
For a second, you had forgotten where you were headed, but soon remembered that Dr. Han's room was somewhere in this corridor and that he was in charge of the pills. Instead of scanning the paper, your eyes scanned the hall, looking for a door with the doctors name.
It didn't take long to find it, and you were standing in front of his door in no time.
You brought up your fist to the door, knocking once, causing a muffled voice to be heard from inside. "Come in," it said, and you could only assume that it was Dr. Han. Still clutching onto the paper with one hand, you used the other to push open the door, revealing a man sat down at a desk. He looked to be only a few years older than you, his dark black hair pushed back with glasses sat atop his head. For a second, you admired his beauty, were all the workers here so good looking?
"May I help you?" he asked, slightly tilting his head to the left.
"Are you Dr. Han?" you spoke, to which the man nodded. You took the chance to walk closer towards him, letting the door shut behind you. "I'm here as a volunteer, Bora sent me here."
He nodded in understanding, the polite smile never leaving his face. Dr Han stood from his position at his desk, gesturing with his finger for you to come closer. "Could you hand me that?" he asked, looking towards the paper in your hand.
You handed it to him, and proceeded to wait there patiently in silence as he made his way around the room, grabbing various pills from shelves and not once making a mistake. It seemed as though he knew the room like the back of his hand.
Since you were now standing right at his desk, you took the chance to let your eyes scan all of its contents. It consisted of a computer with a keyboard, but that's not what caught your attention. You noticed the names of two boys, attached with a picture and a bunch of other writing. Unfortunately, due to your horrible eyesight, you had to squint hard to make out any of the words, Park Jimin and J—
Before you could read out the second name, Dr. Han was already making his way back towards you, this time with a tray in hand. You took a step back, realising that you were making yourself appear as nosy and rude. This was none of your business, anyway.
He returned with the tray and several other items, carefully placing each one onto the gray tray before handing it to you. It was of medium size, able to fit onto one of ur hands if you could balance it properly. You noticed that he had put the sheet of paper that you previously had down onto the tray first, then put everything else on top, allowing you to read off the names and hold all the prescriptions with no problems.
"How comes you're so late?" the doctor questioned, looking at you with a curious gaze.
"Oh, there was a lot of traffic." you replied, smiling sheepishly and expecting to be told off. Instead, Dr. Han chuckled softly at your reaction before taking his seat.
"I assume Bora already scolded you for being late." he said, rolling himself closer to his desk. You nodded, letting your finger roam across the edge of the tray. "I apologise on her behalf, she can be quite a handful."
"It's no problem, I understand where she's coming from anyway."
"Yeah, but she's probably just cranky since you're working with 'her boys.'" he rolled his eyes, and you could sense the dislike he felt towards her.
"What do you mean?" you asked, confused.
"Oh, nothing, never mind. You should probably get going, and come back when you're done."
Although you were confused and wanted him to answer your question, you knew staying would end up wasting more time, and instead decided to take your leave, muttering a quick goodbye with an awkward smile.
Before you left, you watched him go back to writing something down on a sheet of paper, and even more curiosity set down in your body.

"Just jot it down."
Word Count: Bitch idk but it's more than 500
A/N: I'd like to say TW warnings of suicide, and more (fyi I'm not suicidal either but this kinda popped into my head)
Tumblr media
“Just jot it down.”
That's what my counselor told me at age eleven when I explained quietly that my thoughts were too fast, too dark, and too much for my mind to handle. I had felt like a stranger in my own mind, and I was scared. Instead of helping she sighed and took a peak at me from behind her computer screen. Her fingers paused their typing on the keyboard and the room went quiet before she repeated the phrase again like I hadn't heard her the first time or I was simply a problem to be dealt with.
“Just jot it down.”
After that she promptly wrote me a pass back to class and showed me away like I was a fly buzzing by her ear, pestering her. I had spilled my guts to her and all she did was repeat that stupid phrase all over again. She didn't care. They never seemed to care. If she had taken one moment, one second she would've noticed the pen ink splotches on my fingers and nails from where I had squeezed the pen so hard it broke. I could not just jot it down.
“Just jot it down.”
The use of the word ‘just’ makes it seem simple, easy even. It is not that easy. It is not that simple. Emotions are complicated and humans are even more complex. The word ‘just’ was not even needed for the sentence to be grammatically correct. They add ‘just’ because it's simple for them. They're simpleminded and straightforward with everything. They're logical. The word ‘just’ describes them. They just don't care. They don't own journals filled to the brim with their thoughts and emotions, but neither do I. I just don't get to be the judge, if I don't want others to be my own. I just wish they felt everything I was feeling. I just wish they could hear my thoughts and could piece them together like a puzzle. A puzzle with pieces missing. Pieces of myself missing. I just wish they understood that the way my mind works or doesn't in this case is different, is not simple and easy to be fixed like the word ‘just’. I just wish they cared enough to notice.
“Just jot it down.”
The definition of the word ‘jot’ is
“To write briefly or hurriedly”
When I explained my mind was a mess I meant it. Did they think writing a small part of it would fix it? That jotting a small piece of my mind would cleanse and rid me of the aches I feel in my chest when I sit alone in the dark of my room? My mind is moving fast, so would writing it hurriedly down free me of all my pain? Would I be able to check it off of a checklist as if I was cleaning my room, which by the way I can't even seem to be able to do that either. I am not only a mental mess, but also a physical one as well. The dishes stack, the clothes piles, and my grades drop. I bet you can guess which one they noticed. But maybe I should just jot it down? I am not a task to be checked off a to do list.
“Save her” is not next on your spring cleaning list. I am a person just like you. We are one and the same, but you don't ever notice.
Perhaps you would if I just jotted it down for you to see.
“Just jot it down.”
‘It’ is a flexible pronoun. It can be used in many different ways. For example, “Just jot it down.” It refers to my thoughts. The pieces of me that don't seem to make sense when placed together in my mind. The pieces of me I'm afraid to confront. How something so large and complicated can be compacted into a simple two lettered word is beyond me. Though, nothing seems to make sense to me anymore, and everyone else seems to understand, so I guess I'm the problem. How they used it so casually when telling me what to do must mean I'm the issue. It must really be that easy to write it down, but if that were truly the case then why do I shake and hyperventilate when I stare at the pen and paper? Is it me? Am I the problem? Such a small word. It. Is it me? This time ‘It’ refers to the issue of me not being capable of piercing myself back together. This time ‘it’ is correct. It is me, but it's not like I'm the one that destroyed me to begin with.
“Just jot it down.”
When she said the word down she looked me up and down. I could tell she didn't like something about me. Maybe my clothes or my chopped haircut. Either way, I could tell. Not by the scoff or the roll of her eyes, but by the downturn of her lips. She went back to her computer almost immediately afterwards but the word down rang through my head even when she was no longer looking at me anymore.
The word down carries a negative connotation. If you don't know what that means it means that people tend to associate the word down with negative feelings or emotions. You could say it makes them feel down. Either way, I can't help but relate to the word. It carries all of these negative feelings and even though it has the potential to be a positive word it can't help but make everyone feel negative. It's not on purpose yet everyone pushed it away to prevent any feelings that could arise. Instead of helping by changing the context of a sentence they leave. Like always.
“Just jot it down.”
Maybe I did. Maybe I already have, but it doesn't matter because no one will ever read this. No one will ever take the time to analyze and scan each word's worth. Not like I have. Not like I just did. So maybe, just maybe when I sit down to write my goodbye letters I'll be able to do it finally.
I'll be able to just jot it down.

Tumblr media
He wakes up baffled and confused. His bed creaks under his increased weight. He picks up his glasses from the nightstand and nearly crushes the plastic frames between his fingers. They barely fit his face now.
None of his clothes fit properly and of course you were at the House of Lamentation last night so you're not there to help him. (Perhaps not having to wake up and see him like this is a good thing though.) He calls you in a panic and asks if you can stop by Majolish because of a wardrobe malfunction.
(Wardrobe malfunction meaning the buttons from his shirt are scattered all over the floor and the seams are nearly ripped wide-open. His pants tore apart when he tried to pull them up his thick, muscular thighs.)
He didn't even think about your reaction until you arrived with a bag of clothes, but he's nauseous when he sees your horrified expression. The shock softens into curiosity when you touch his arms and chest tentatively, like you can't believe he's real.
(Your hands linger on his pecs and you can't don't even know what to say or ask or do first. "How did this even happen?!" "Did it hurt?" "How much stronger are you now?" "Did it affect your cock too?")
You don't voice any of those thoughts because his eyes are still the same, and he looks unbearably sad and frustrated and your heart hurts for him. He suggests that you carry on with your plans for the day while he goes to work, and he'll let you know if he finds a way to reverse this. Maybe working will take his mind off this, even a little bit.
He goes to the office and hurries past the other staff mingling in the hall before they notice him and ask too many questions.
(It doesn't help that his shoulders are so broad that he nearly got stuck in the revolving glass doors and had to turn sideways to shimmy out, and even then the steel frame groaned when he pushed through.)
Things get worse once he finally makes it to his office. He nearly pulls the door off its hinges when he opens it with too much force from all the frustration bubbling inside him.
He doesn't fit in his computer chair anymore either. It was custom-made for his regular, slender body and not this meat-mountain monstrosity. The arms of the chair are too narrow and the chair slides out from under him when he tries to sit down.
(One of the wheels on the bottom snapped under his weight too.)
When he finds a temporary replacement seat, trying to do actual work is nearly impossible. His once-nimble fingers are too clumsy when he tries to type across the keys. His mechanical keyboard clicks and audibly crunches from his much-bigger fingertips.
His D.D.D. is difficult to use too. The audio commands work fine, but the screen is a problem. He tests prototypes for the R&D division, and this particular model is slimmer and smaller—it's meant to be more compact. He has poor accuracy trying to use the touch screen, and he nearly snaps the thin metal device in half by accident.
He can't even calm himself down with a warm cup of tea. His favourite cup, the one with the silhouette of a crow and CAWFEE written in bold letters, is too small for his big hands. He can't slip his fingers through the handle and he nearly drops it when it balances precariously in his grasp. It was a gift from you and he'd be devastated if he broke it.
At some point during the day, the curse is suddenly lifted. He examines himself for any signs of injury, but all he sees is a mismatched suit that's far too big and makes him look like a toddler playing dress-up.
His office is a mess and full of half-broken furniture and his head hurts. He called you and that helped soothe him a little, but he's still unspeakably angry about the whole situation. He's a prideful demon, and the torment he was forced to endure will not go unpunished.
(He'll deal with that meddlesome sorcerer as soon as he tidies his office and finds some proper-fitting clothes.)

Sanyo Wavy 35 (PHC-35) MSX2+
The Wavy 35 (PHC-35J) is an MSX2+ computer released (1988) on the Japanese market by Sanyo. It's the only MSX2+ model that doesn't include a disk drive and built-in MSX-MUSIC (Yamaha YM2413). It is therefore quite compact in design and has had fewer failures (the built-in disk drive was one of the most common components to fail on most 8-16 bit machines) It was developed in cooperation with the Japan Management Association (JMA) to promote the use of computers in schools, public administration, and commercial enterprises. Sanyo models have one of the best keyboards available amongst all MSX 2+ machines. Check these out too if you are interested in retro computing

My replica Ohio Scientific OSI 400 Superboard now works!
This is a replica of a ~1976 single board kit computer, one of the earliest available for the 6502. It was cheap and relatively simple compared to many of the other options for sale at the time. The user had to supply a serial interface, or add other boards for I/O, but the base concept seems simple enough.
The glitchworks parts kit that I bought with it includes vintage style components, similar to what would have been available in the mid/late 1970s, to complete the look. However, my modern machine pin sockets are rather anachronistic. I've also chosen to build mine using a 6512 processor instead of a 6502, which has a nearly identical pinout to the 6501 and 6800. With just a single jumper change, this board can accommodate either processor, but will need special ROMs with 6800 software to be useful. It took a few days to figure out how to get it running, and here's what had to happen:
Attached era-appropriate termination resistors from glitch
Replaced 555 with an era-appropriate TO-99 version, also from glitch (this one is purely cosmetic)
Corrected my wiring mistakes when assembling the TX level shifter
Replaced 74LS04 used to buffer 6850 (damaged part wouldn't pull sufficiently during serial loopback tests)
Jumpered /CTS low on 6850
Lastly, the most frustrating one of all that took some assistance from glitch and tangentdelta on IRC, bypassing VMA output from the 6512. MOS datasheets that I've seen indicate that the 65XX family always outputs a high signal on what was formerly the VMA pin on the 6800, as it is tied to VCC internally. When checking this on my 6512, I saw continuity between VCC and VMA. However, for some reason I was seeing a low signal with occasional spikes which I could not explain. The solution was to disconnect the buffer input that feeds VMA beyond the 6512, and pull the signal high with a resistor. The result is that the logic chain allows the E input on pin 14 of the 6850 to go high when necessary, and output serial data.
Tumblr media
Speaking of serial data, my T1960CT has been my terminal for these tests, as it's compact enough to fit on my workbench, has RS232 on board, provides a good keyboard, and can copy files over the network.
I have big plans for this thing. I want to add in all the era-appropriate boards to to get a more complete experience, similar to what I did with the Cactus. However while the Cactus was an exercise in 1970s homebrew, this is an exercise in 1970s kit computing.

🎄💾🗓️ Day 14: Retrocomputing Advent Calendar - Atari 400/800🎄💾🗓️
The Atari 8-bit computer line was launched in 1979 with the Atari 400 and Atari 800. Both were advanced for home computers at the time. Both were driven by a 1.79 MHz MOS Technology 6502 CPU, with ANTIC and CTIA/GTIA custom chips for advanced graphics and the POKEY chip handling sound and input/output duties. The Atari 800 was the premium model, featuring a full mechanical keyboard, user-expandable to 48 KB of memory, more metal shielding, and more durability. The Atari 400 was a lower-cost alternative with a membrane keyboard, limited to 16 KB of RAM, and a simplified construction.
With hardware-accelerated scrolling, Player/Missile graphics, and rich sound, the Atari 8-bit systems were known for gaming and creative applications. They were a versatile platform with cartridge-based software, cassette, and floppy disk storage. Atari's proprietary SIO (Serial Input/Output) port allowed daisy-chaining peripherals such as printers, modems, and disk drives, making connecting them easier than with other systems.
Newer models were more compact, combined memory expansion to as much as 128KB, and compatibility with developing software and peripherals improved. Atari's 8-bit computers are remembered for having groundbreaking hardware and a very colorful game library, and they are still being used by the retrocomputing community.
While doing research for this, I saw the XE Game System, never saw it before, very 80s for sure!
The Atari XEGS (XE Game System) was launched in 1987. A repackaged 65XE with a removable keyboard, it boots to the 1981 port of Missile Command instead of BASIC if the keyboard is disconnected.
Have first computer memories? Post’em up in the comments, or post yours on socialz’ and tag them #firstcomputer #retrocomputing – See you back here tomorrow!

Occultist implements: Pop culture Cybermancy Magic
In pathfinder the concept of an occultist is the use of implements or tools to invoke the powers of other magic types. Similar to a warlock in my opinion or a wizard. In this post I wanted to list the tools that I see as comparable to the pathfinder occultist class. This falls into my Otherworld channeling class as a form of glamour but also as a form of shapeshifting. Not all implements are going to be technological, but they will work well in cybermancy when applied correctly.
Here is the page I used to draw up this list: https://www.d20pfsrd.com/alternative-rule-systems/occult-adventures/occult-classes/occultist/occultist-implements/
Abjuration
For abjuration, I could see myself using an amulet in the game or a holy symbol. Cybermancy versions of this would be as follows: A usb drive as a necklace with images in it as a form of statuary images, an actual amulet with a holy symbol (a pentagram or a triquetra).
Conjuration
For conjuration I feel that a figurine would be a good match for me. Examples of this would be images of trading cards from a game or my pokemon go+. Alternatively, a compact mirror would be a good physical tool as well.
Divination
Given that divination is my specialty in magic, I find that I have a lot of divination tools. My main ones that I have from this list are books, tarot decks (harrow decks) and crystal balls. I have the physical and the digital. Cybermancy versions of books and decks are my favorite go to for on the go.
Enchantment
This one should be pretty easy to guess. Enchantment being about the mind and emotions, anything to do with auditory senses is gonna be a tool for enchantment. In terms of software I use Audible, various music apps and YouTube. In terms of tech, a good set of noise canceling headphones or Dj headphones is ideal (preferably Bluetooth and foldable). Alternatively, you could use any retro tech like a cassette player, a cd player, or an mp3 player. Bonus points if the cd or cassette player has mp3, am/fm radio, and the ability to play cds or cassettes respectively.
Evocation
Ok while not necessarily tech based, metal of any kind is a good conduit for cybermancy. The implement that I would choose in this category would be a wand. A collapsible metal pointer or an old collapsible radio antenna is a great aesthetic and works well for commanding cybermantic energies. Alternatively an app like the Dr. who sonic screwdriver app is a good one for those that want their implements to be virtual.
Illusion
I’m gonna go with a crystal from this list because images of crystals are just as strong as their real counterparts. Also crystals resonate well with electrical energies.
Necromancy
While necromancy isn’t a specialty or even something I’ve extensively studied, I would have to go with the coins. Let’s be honest, we all have loose pennies that we have no real use for. So turn them into necromancy conduits. Copper may be a metal not associated with earth but it is useful for calling the dead because copper is a conduit through which the two worlds can be bridged.
Transmutation
I’m gonna have to go with belt for this one because a belt can also hold a bag on which your tools go. Thus it’s like Batman’s utility belt.
Update:
After thinking about it a bit, here is a condensed list of tools:
Abjuration: usb and divine images
Conjuration: PokĂŠmon go +, digital trading card collection
Divination: tarot apps, astrology apps, e-book apps, zen water apps, dice apps, video apps
Enchantment: Bluetooth speaker or headphones for crowd control respectively and music playlists
Evocation: stylus as wand
Illusion: Crystal of choice or images that create glamours
Necromancy: keyboard as spirit board, automatic writing, camera app for seeing the spirits, audio recorder for spirit box
Transmutation: computer games for in game energy transmutation and digital charm bags. Music playlists as potions for transmutation.

Evelyn Berezin in 1976 at the Long Island office of her company Redactron. She developed one of the earliest word processors and helped usher in a technological revolution. Evelyn Berezin said her word processor would help secretaries become more efficient at their jobs. Photo By Barton Silverman/New York Times.
Evelyn Berezin, “Godmother of the Word Processor!” The Woman That Made Bill Gates and Steve Jobs Possible
Evelyn Berezin (1925-2018) was born in the Bronx to poor Russian-Jewish immigrants. Growing up, she loved reading science fiction and wished to study physics. She excelled at school and graduated two years early. Berezin had to wear make-up and fake her age to get a job at a research lab. She ended up studying economics because it was a more “fitting” subject for women at the time. During World War II, she finally received a scholarship to study physics at New York University. Berezin studied at night, while working full time at the International Printing Company during the day. She continued doing graduate work at New York University, with a fellowship from the US Atomic Energy Commission. In 1951, she joined the Electronic Computer Corporation, designing some of the world’s very first computers. At the time, computers were massive machines that could only do several specific functions.

Berezin headed the Logic Design Department, and came up with a computer to manage the distribution of magazines, and to calculate firing distances for US Army artillery. In 1957, Berezin transferred to work at Teleregister, where she designed the first banking computer and the first computerized airline reservation system (linking computers in 60 cities, and never failing once in the 11 years that it ran). Her most famous feat was in 1968 when she created the world’s first personal word processor to ease the plight of secretaries (then making up 6% of the workforce).
“Without Ms. Berezin There Would Be No Bill Gates, No Steve Jobs, No Internet, No Word Processors, No Spreadsheets; Nothing That Remotely Connects Business With The 21st Century.” — The Times of Israel (12 December 2018)
The following year, she founded her own company, Redactron Corporation, and built a mini-fridge-sized word processor, the “Data Secretary”, with a keyboard and printer, cassette tapes for memory storage, and no screen. With the ability to go back and edit text, cut and paste, and print multiple copies at once, Berezin’s computer freed the world “from the shackles of the typewriter”. The machine was an in instant hit, selling thousands of units around the world. Berezin’s word processor not only set the stage for future word processing software, like Microsoft Word, but for compact personal computers in general. It is credited with being the world’s first office computer. Not surprisingly, it has been said that without Evelyn Berezin “there would have been no Bill Gates, and no Steve Jobs”.

“Why Is This Woman Not Famous?” British Writer Gwyn Headley Wrote In A 2010 Blog Post. — The Times of Israel
Redactron grew to a public company with over 500 employees. As president, she was the only woman heading a corporation in the US at the time, and was described as the “Most Senior Businesswoman in the United States”. Redactron was eventually bought out by Burroughs Corporation, where Berezin worked for several more years. In 1980, she moved on to head a venture capital group investing in new technologies. Berezin served on the boards of a number of organizations, including Stony Brook University and the Brookhaven National Laboratory, and was a sought-after consultant for the world’s biggest tech companies.
She was a key part of the American Women’s Economic Development Corporation for 25 years, training thousands of women in how to start businesses of their own, with a success rate of over 60%. In honour of her parents, she established the Sam and Rose Berezin Endowed Scholarship, paying tuition in full for an undergraduate science student each year. Sadly, Berezin passed away earlier this month. She left her estate to fund a new professorship or research centre at Stony Brook University. Berezin won multiple awards and honourary degrees, and was inducted into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame.
