what character would you like to cosplay?

I don't think I would ever get into cosplaying, but. There are a few characters that I love seeing cosplayed, and if I had the equipment to make it great, I would 100% try

so I've had a bad week so official I've been watching say yes to the dress and it got me thinking what type of wedding dresses they would were to their wedding

Elizabeth: Something fluffy but slim

Harriet: Probably something that would be easy to turn into a cosplay

Noelle: Long sleeve flowly

Jody: Something with lots of colors and shows off her personality

Taylor: Cinderella dress with hints of red

Alejandra: Mermaid style slim hugs the body, lots of lace

Trin: Something green and simple

Danika: I had a little trouble with but after thinking A black pantsuit with a train

Ginnifer: literally Ariel's purple dress from the end of the movie but white with a little more fancy to it

DJ: Collects bridesmaid dresses

No Beta We Die Like Damian

Nika leans against Damian giving her her best puppy dog eyes. 

“Damian?”

“No.”

“Darling?”

“No.”

“Light of my life?”

This time Damian turned a dark shade of pink and Nika resisted the urge to coo so that she could get the end results. “pleeeeeease!” she whined dramatically falling into Damian’s lap. Damian huffs and debates shoving Nika off the ledge they’re on. There’s a probability she’d survive but Damian didn’t know if Nika came here with a grapple, and if she needed to save her it would be easy for Nika to guilt trip her into agreeing. So she just turned back onto the roof, and shoved her there.

Nika landed with an undignified yelp and a pout on her lips. Damian snickered at the cute look but Nika only glared which lead to Damian giggling. If Damian thought she was going to get away with it by giggling cutely she was dead wrong. Flatline brushed off her pants and stood arms crossed. “Oh come on! I thought you liked the Owl House” Damian sat back down, manga in hand “yes but that doesn’t mean I want to cosplay Amity. What the hell am I supposed to do with lavender hair? My mother would kill me.”  Nika groans sitting on the concrete.

How was she supposed to get her girlfriend to go along with it? An idea popped in her head and she sprang back up. “I’d make it worth your while~” she says in a sing-song voice. Damian lowers the manga “I’m listening”. Nika smiles as she sits next to her “Since our beloved art students are going to be on hiatus for a while, how about I get you an updated collection of Love is War?” she asks grinning. 

Damian raises an eyebrow, “and how would you fund that?” she asks putting her bookmark away arms crossed. “One, I already have a huge chunk of it back at my place. And two, your mom pays me well as your backup bodyguard-” “FOR THE LAST TIME I DON’T NEED A-” “- I know I know! But it does pay well and you did promise me a job for giving up Lord Death man.” “-Tt- that was only because I needed a reason for you to give me back my stupid heart in the mason jar” she growled ears pink and the manga shoved back up. 

“Technically your half brother’s, but fair enough. In any case, I can get you the entire series and we can use temporary coloring for the hair. S’not like I’m gonna paint you white or anything. You already have the hair down well” Nika replies running her fingers on a lose strand of hair. Damian flushes a dark pink and pushes away “-tt- I only have it like this because I needed to pass as a boy for a while. It was easier with an undercut and I could take it down when I liked”

“And the bangs?” Nika asks brushing them, Damian’s blush gets darker. “My cousin Mara trying to help, I’m honestly surprised considering how she butchered her own not long ago.”  Nika shrugs still touching her hair. “At least she practiced on herself first. Besides,” Nika drew Damain down on her lap continuing to stroke her hair “I think it’s cute”

A small smile slips on Damian’s face and she sighs in defeat. “All right. But keep the pictures on your phone. I’m pretty sure Oracle hacks into mine for updates” Nika whoops picking Damian up, and spinning her around “thankyouthankyouthankyou! This is going to be the best first convention ever!”

“You’re welcome- WAIT! YOU NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A CONVENTION!”

Starkid Homecoming thoughts

I came back home from the final Starkid Homecoming show and I want to write my thoughts before I forget something (I started writing this at nearly 4 am and now it's 5 am, but I've waited until now to post it) I'm doing this on mobile and I don't know how to do a cut, so WARNING: LONG POST AHEAD

~ I very briefly said hi to Corey Lubowich before the show, who seemed to be doing tech stuff, but nonetheless he gave a small wave back

~ I waved at Denise Donovan and Nick Gage when they walked through the lobby, who both waved back at me and everyone else

~ My friends, Natalie and Jose, and I all dressed up as TGWDLM characters (Emma Perkins, Hot Chocolate Boy, and Greenpeace Girl respectively) and we received many compliments and some photos for it!

~ I was able to snag a quick pic with Nick Lang during intermission, as well as Gabe Greenspan of TCB

~ I saw Clark Baxtresser onstage before the show started, and I think my heart actually melted

~ Robert Manion SLAYED Show Stopping Number and Working Boys, and yes, he did include his best quality: his wiggles

~ Tiffany Williams actually held up the sky during We Got Work to Do

~ When Joe Walker, as Ducker, freaked out about shadows, Joey Richter comforted him onstage

~ I touched Dylan Saunders' right arm as he walked through the aisle during the sustained note from Back to Hogwarts

~ Denise saw me make a heart with my hands (I was sitting in Orchestra Row C seat 14) and she returned one to me two separate times

~ I'm pretty sure Dylan pointed at me a few times during the performance

~ I think they changed all instances of "fuck" in No One Remembers Achmed to either "love" or "hug"? Or my ears were just being weird

~ Everyone clapped in time to Voldemort and everyone else's tapping in To Dance Again

~ I found myself singing along to songs I've never even heard before

~ Darren Criss made a beautiful speech at the end of the show, and I saw Jaime Lyn Beatty struggling not to cry

~ We met two wonderful people by the names Danika and Eden while we were waiting in line that we ended up talking and stagedooring with for a while

~ Nick Gage was the first person we saw after the show, who had stepped out back to smoke with friends

~ Darren was, in his own words, "exhausted" and "[had] no gas left [in him]," but he had promised to say hi to everyone that was back there, and he kept that promise

~ Darren recognized a Japanese woman who had flown in from Tokyo to see the show, to whom he greeted and spoke Japanese with, and she seemed ecstatic to the point where she began crying. It was a very adorable and beautiful moment to witness

~ I shook Darren's hand and told him my name, and he said it was nice to meet me

~ My dad said there was a large crowd in front of the theatre, and it turned out that some of the performers were leaving through the entrance (see below)

~ Jaime said she saw my Greenpeace Girl cosplay from the stage, and she asked if Mariah Rose Faith saw and I said I wasn't sure (I hope she did though!)

~ I also told Jaime that I'm the one who dree her as Dawn, and it made her very happy

~ When meeting Jonathan Matteson, I asked if he "[Had] a minute to talk about the planet" and he went "NO!" before jokingly pushing me away and walking off, then we took a picture

~ Joey didn't stop for pictures, but he told the small crowd I was in that he loved us, and when I blew kisses at him, he blew some back

~ Jeff Blim didn't really do anything in particular, he was just really sweet and I love him

~ I told Dylan that I love Twisted because of how Beautiful his voice is, and he seemed very appreciative of that

~ Corey Dorris was very kind when we asked to take a picture, and he said he hoped we had a good time

~ Lauren Lopez told me to get out of the street because she was worried I would get hit by a car, and she moved me out of the way so we could take a picture safely (I also heard her calling Brian Rosenthal "Bri," which was cute)

~ Robert was walking in front of the theatre when Natalie noticed him and called his name, to which he turned and bashfully said something along the lines of "Hi, I'm sorry everyone, I have a Lyft waiting, it's nice to meet all of you though!" (He was also wearing a bright yellow shirt, which is not a typical occurence)

Overall, this concert was 10,000,000/10, and I'm pretty sure I shredded my vocal cords from screaming and singing, but it was all worth it because I had so much fun and got to meet some incredible people. Everyone sounded perfect, even Meredith somehow, who has been sick for the past few days. I'm so grateful to have been a part of Starkid history, and this show will remain unforgettable in my mind. Happy 10niversary, Starkid!

(via Book Review: All the Feels by Danika Stone)

All the Feels by Danika Stone is an incredibly relatable book about, you guessed it, fandoms. This book has everything from cosplay to fanfiction and a main character who leads an online rebellion. An epic friendship made the book even more enjoyable, and I would definitely recommend it.

If you haven't heard already of #hisnameisalex then I will inform you. There is a cosplay account (gay._.c0splays) where his mother went onto his account and posted a video misgendering him saying "her name is danika" while he stands there clearly uncomfortable. She then went on to do this again to his Instagram claiming he should be referred to as danika and she/her pronouns.

Alex is clearly upset and distressed by this. No parent should treat there child like this so I'm linking the petition here

So my sister recently got diagnosed with depression and is currently living with my aunt to get away from a toxic social life. That being said she now has no social life and I've been sending her books to fill her time. Do you have any happy go lucky book recs or anything that puts you in a particularly good mood that I could get her? (Anyone who sees this can also give some recs)!

Hello! I’m so sorry to hear about your sister, but what a great sister you are trying to help her out with fun reading material! I think that is awesome, love. Go you! I definitely can rec some fluffier reading material. A lot of this is going to be romance-centric by nature of the fact that the happier stuff I read tends to involve romance, but hopefully that works!

ANYTHING MEG CABOT LITERALLY ANYTHING BY MEG CABOT; My favorites are Princess Diaries and the Mediator. PD might seem a little immature depending on her tastes, but Mia has a great arc + Michael is HOT. But oh man, Mediator is like where IT IS AT. Suze kicks ass and Jesse is HOT too and it’s all paranormal and about this chick being a badass and taking care of business. I love both those series. But again - anything by this woman is guaranteed to make you smile and laugh. Her books are gold for feels and warm fuzzies and girl power. :)

My Lady Jane by Jodi Meadows, Brodi Ashton, & Cynthia Hand; Standalone; English Historical Fantasy; HYSTERICAL ABSOLUTELY HYSTERICAL. If you like Princess Bride type stuff, you will ADORE this book. Just read it. Everyone needs to read it.

The Heir and the Spare by Emily Albright; Standalone; Basically, this is the plot of what could have happened when Will and Kate (of England) met at school. A chick from the US goes to college in the UK and ends up being dorm mates with the crowned prince of England, and naturally, they fall for each other. Adorbs ensues.

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins; trilogy; I’ve only read the first installment, but the entire series is well known for being happy. Anna is American and goes to boarding school in Paris and falls for a guy named Etienne. It’s so much fun! Flirting, food, and France. :D

The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan; Five books; She may have already read these, but they’re so good if she hasn’t! They’re incredibly light to read, kind of a middle grade series honestly. But I loved them?? They’ve got action and adventure and cool mythology that is easy to follow along with. There is a little bit of romance, but nothing as heavy as what else is on this list.

The Selection by Kiera Cass; Trilogy (plus spinoff duology); This series is like what would happen if The Bachelor met The Hunger Games minus the forced murder lol. It’s a bit of a whine fest teenage melodrama at times, but it’s addicting and it reads really fast and it’s got fancy dresses and royalty and Maxon is Class.

Geek Girl by Holly Smale; Five? Six books? One to be released still?; THESE BOOKS ARE SO CUTE. There is romance, but it’s mostly about a teenage Geek who gets scouted to be a model. So she has to balance both parts of herself. Some of it is really endearing, but overall she’s just hilarious and quirky and fun to read. I loved these books!

How to Game the Walk of Shame by Jenn P. Nguyen; Standalone; I LOVED THIS BOOK. IT IS UTTER ROMANCE TRASH. IT IS THE FAKE DATING TROPE AT IT’S BEST. I loved it. It’s so good. SOO GOOD.

The Island by S. Usher Evans; Trilogy; New Adult Romance; These books are very serious in places, there are definitely some heavier themes going on. But they’re written as romance and read very light for the most part. Theo and Galian have great banter and their romance is *swoon city* awesome. Plus, Sush is an indie author and always loves having new readers. If you decide to go for this one, purchase the books on her publishing site SGR. :)

All the Feels by Danika Stone; Standalone; Basically, this is about two best friends falling in love while fangirling over a movie series. It’s literally all about fandom life - fanfiction, movies, cosplay, conventions. It’s cool.

Jackaby by William Ritter; Series; I’ve only read the first one, but it’s really good. It’s basically 19th centure Sherlock Holmes set up in America. With Fantasy creatures. It’s rad!!!

Geekerella is everything I could have asked for!! <3 It's an improved Cinderella and it's a gift for all of us who are obsessed with fictional worlds and characters; for all of us who have been called weirdos, nerds, or freaks; for all of us who haven been told that we were losing our time; for all of us who have received strange looks when talking about fandoms. Enjoy it, because it's amazing!

In this book we meet Elle (our Cinderella), who is the biggest fan of this TV show called Starfield, writes fanfiction and blogs about it all the time. And, instead of going to a ball, she's super excited to go to a convention. On the other hand, there's Darien (our charming prince), a famous actor who plays the main character in a new Starfield movie, and he is much more than meet the eye.

There are some elements that remain true to the original story (i.e. the evil stepmother and stepsisters), but there are others that change. So, instead of a pumpking, we have a vegan food truck, and instead of a dress, we have cosplay. But my favourite thing is how Ashley Poston reimagines the fairy godmother and introduces Sage in her place. She is Elle's best friend, who will help her to love herself and stand up for what she deserves and believes in.

The story is very fun and I'm sure you'll love all the nerdy references. Moreover, there's a wide range of diverse characters who are really great, even though I'd like to get to know some of them better.

All in all, this is an amazing story about love, friendship, and fandoms, and I highly recommend it to fans of "All the feels" by Danika Stone or "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell.
